Stiles was just one mystery after another disguised in an overachieving college student and a mountain of sarcasm. Peter wanted to slice him open and pick out each and every piece to inspect. Figure out all of the things that had built him into the mess Peter was looking at now.

The scent of blood caught his attention. One of the jagged halves of Stiles’ pencil had stabbed into his palm. “Please let me clean that up before you bleed on one of my books.”

”Oh, shit!” Stiles scrambled away from the table. “Sorry.” He dutifully followed into the kitchen and let Peter pick out splinters and pieces of broken pencil lead before the whole area was smeared with Neosporin and covered with a bandaid. Chris had taught him human first aid when they’d first started living together. Peter liked to think himself pretty handy by now with regular cuts and scrapes and sprains.

”There.” He pressed his lips to the center of the band-aid, drawing away the pain. “We don’t want you hurt.”

Stiles barked out a grim laugh. “That’s a new one.”

”You’re mine. I’m going to look after you.” Stiles was sitting on the counter, and Peter leaned in to nose at his neck and collarbone, still trying to decipher the strange myriad of stress and fear and arousal that clung to him. Stiles dutifully tipped his head to the side.
