Before the Water Rises (17489 words) by Vitreous_Humor a flood fic! seriously well written, very cute. they work together for the first time. published before s2, no s2 canon in there.

Big Name Feelings (103997 words) by ghostrat a human fandom au in which crowley is a fic writer and Aziraphale a fanartist. also SO well written (such a good author in general!). Skippable smut.

it's a new craze (5541 words) by attheborder Aziraphale and crowley start a podcast together. Its perfect, just read it, please, i am actually begging you to read it (or listen to it! Theres two GREAT podfics!!). No s2. generally dig through attheborders stuff, theres lots of good fics there

Everything That's Meant (105055 words) by journeytogallifrey Human Actor AU with great characterization and such a sweet romance! I also loved how it handled the relationship between Aziraphale and Gabriel. And the story theyre adapting is basically a "What if azi was the demon and Crowley was the angel" AU which makes the whole thing even more meta. Great fun.

give me peace (in a lifetime of war) (33598 words) by JustTellHer INCOMPLETE (only a third of it is out) post s2 fic but with genuinely one of THE best characterizations I have seen out of all the post s2 fics ive read. And I get picky sometimes. This is actually SO SO good and I need more people to read this so we get more interaction for the author so they post the rest. I actually want this as a last season.

Quisquis Amat or How am I Going to be an Optimist About This? historical fic, taking place in Pompeii where the ineffable husbands have been living together and raising a small child until the vulcano happens. VERY well written and just as well researched - you will finish that fic a bigger history nerd than before. and it has fanart!! what more do you need?

Somebody to Love (20130 words) by everydayistuesday The Bentley only plays Somebody to Love and Crowley is getting extremely anxious everytime his angel is in the car with him. Hilarious premise, easy to read, very cute. No s2 in this one either.

The future's going to break through (10674 words) by nieded (and the rest of this series as well) theyre professors at a university and the students find them very strange. But its wholesome and well written and if you like outsiders perspective it is absoutely PERFECT.

tales from a bookshop (19856 words) by Rizandace RAAAAAAAH GOOD CHARACTERIZATION! and the angst is absolutely delicious as well. GREAT writing style and theres a podfic too!! So good pls do yourself a favour and read this.

The Ineffable’s Guide to Conducting a Courtship (98792 words) by everydayistuesday A "How would s2 have gone if theyd been fake-dating" fic. Very funny, very sweet, very cute, fixes the final fifteen and everybody is happy. If you ever need a good in-universe longfic but dont want it to be post s2, i recommend this one.

Recounting the Deeds of the Day (5421 words) by charlottemadison, and then the rest of this series the best "Night at crowleys flat" fic i have read (and thats saying something, considering i literally wrote one myself). I know people dont care as much for s1 fics nowadays but this is such a treat!! Mind the ratings as the series goes on though.

Wild Hearts (145589 words) by foolishlovers GOOD CHARACTERIZATION!! Crowley centric, but I love aziraphale in this. Human au where theyre both teachers and Best Friends. The pining in this is so exquisite that your teeth start hurting from the amount of things youre feeling. Very, very good, cannot reccommend it enough. Mind the rating (E).

First of all let me start off by saying CONGRATS TO LINDSEY! so cool I really hope she gets the opportunity to direct more stuff in the future. She did an amazing job

THIS was a good episode and I’m surprised because I was looking at live tweets like at 2am and really thought this wasn’t gonna be good

I felt majority of the episode was more about the characters and the last 5 secs was focused on the plot lmao

Madi and Jackson’s therapy session was just pure. Madi has really gone through so much and I just need her to be happy now. Ok can Jackson give therapy sessions to everyone because they 100% need it!

Gabriel ...I’m sorry but I STILL believe he has a end game here like he MUST! I really don’t wanna believe he’s doing all this to solve a life long puzzle. I love his character too much, I really wish he was apart of earlier seasons along with Diyoza and hope and the rest of these incredible actors

I LIVED like LIVED for sheidheda and Murphy’s scenes like them playing chess and going back and forth...genius. They are both amazing actors! We got a lexa mention!!!!!! I wonder if we will actually see her this season I mean I hope so as well as other characters we have lost along the way!

I was genuinely SCARED for both emori and Murphy this episode. I really thought emori was gonna die, I really enjoyed her scenes this ep. I think emori is so underrated! However apart of me thinks she’s enjoying being a prime a bit too much and I want her to snap out of it.

Also who does Nikki thinks she is?! Emori can be a savage please don’t underestimate her.

Did I care when Nelson killed his dad? No. I’m sorry but what kind of fucking father is that?! These prime believers piss me off so much. Nelson don’t become a doormat to Nikki

HOPE AND DIYOZA MAN! Diyoza is the best mother this show has ever had and that is saying ALOT lmao. It must be so heartbreaking for Diyoza to have seen her daughter has spent 15 years without her and she’s only spent like a week away from her. Madness

OMFDAYYS BEARDLESS BELLAMY SHIT MAN! Bob is HOT with a beard but I swear he is the 1% that look even better without it

I didn’t mind the becho scene all that much coz it is what it is at this point. I did like when echo said ‘your sister is your strength’ and then Bellamy told her that ‘her loyalty is her weakness’ I really just want echo to thrive and not be so attached to someone else whether it’s roan or bellamy. I loved when echo was also like ‘this isn’t real’ yh it ain’t lmao

I love echo and Octavia being on the same side like let me clear by saying I’m all here for Octavia trying to comfort echo BUT how can she say ‘you’re my family too’ if the writers had worked on that relationship more then I would’ve been like ‘awww cute’ BUT they haven’t and that felt like a wtf moment! I felt like maybe she said it because that’s what Bellamy would’ve wanted idk It also bugs me that Octavia isn’t really mourning for Bellamy and this is why I feel like she doesn’t think he’s dead

no cds! but the last record i bought was peter gabriel plays live

i pay attention to the melody, and then to the way the words sound and feel in my mouth. i absorb lyrics like a sponge & can sing every word to so so many songs without any real effort, but a lot of the time the actual meaning of the words goes right over my head unless i actively pay attention to it on purpose

im desperate to know how to play the marimba. i think its absolutely the worlds stimmiest instrument. the SOUND! the RESONANCE! the slight vibration when you tap the mallet onto the wood and then it bounces back up again! its absolutely amazing. if i had the money and space for a marimba i would instantly evolve into an ideal version of myself. also i think it would be cool to know how to play the tuba but im slightly less passionate about that

Oni-Chan (the longer post)

“Lila is dangerous, and it’s only getting clearer and clearer.”

Once again, production order literally means nothing. It doesn’t. I already talked about in a previous post how certain episodes go way before/after the other regarding the Kagami storyline (just by looking at a few details), and I’ll most likely come back and revise that post when Ikari Gozen is out, but for now we’ll move on.

So let’s dive. Last time we saw ourselves in such a situation . . . It was Chameleon

(Wait! PLEASE DONT THROW THE ROCKS YET.)

Previously on “Lila is an ballistic bomb”, Lila had threatened Marinette, almost akumatized her and in the process actually cornered Adrien while still having the class under control. We ended with Adrienette fully knowing she’s a liar but agreeing, that if she IS called out, they would only be dealing with another akuma (who only gets stronger and smarter by the transformation in case this hasn’t been picked up yet).

Several salt posts and new episodes later, we now have Oni-Chan!

Let me start off with the small stuff and giving you a basic summary of what’s going down.

Lila makes up needing help with her school work and Nino being the pure boy he is said Adrien could probably help, to which Lila managed to lie her way in by bringing up “oh, but if you don’t let me in he will fail cause we can help each other and that would be bad, now wouldn’t it?” To Nathalie and alas, she enters. (Marinette is still a little past the Gigantitan stage of her love stage but hasn’t reached the point of SW2 yet, in case you wanted that to make sense of her behavior)

Lila keeps noticing that Adrien only DEEPLY cares for Ladybug (Marinette) and Kagami while being in his room and can’t stand it. . .

So she instead fakes a “couple picture” and makes it viral to all of his contacts so she can “clean house”. It’s disgusting.

Even Plagg questions his actions, and he still just thinks she wants friends and needs to be handled with kindness. Anyways back to the photo

Marinette of course knows Lila and Adrien and is no fool. . . But who doesn’t know this. . . Is my poor Kagami.

I’ll start tearing things apart in more detail here.

Kagami started crying because that rose meant so much to her. Seeing the life she lives similar to Adrien, that was probably the first person she ever really grew feelings for. Then to see him snatched by another girl?

It REALLY hurts. I feel for her.

Kagami becomes Oni-Chan and an entire fight basically breaks out over “I will fight for Adrien!” “Okay you can have him (jk no you won’t, he’s mine)”. . .

(I’ll come back to why I feel this shouldn’t have been included at the end of the post)

Real quick I love how her having the horn works on people calling out her lies. It was actually good lol.

ANYWHOOSIES

Attempts to get Lila to change keep being made until she pulls a classic “Lila move” and lured him away for Oni-Chan to take Ladybug down.

I did say there’s a reason you don’t want an akuma within her proximity, right?

(Also why Adrienette decided that even though they know she is a liar, they can’t call her out because she’s only find ways to hurt them as heroes, but also as civilians.)

Chat (Adrien) FINALLY realizes that Lila lied to lure him away from Ladybug so she could have her miraculous taken (she’s still team Hawkmoth).

Plagg was right to mention that she was looking for things, and those things are to hurt people close to him.

Now that the dots are connected for him officially, he is DONE playing smiles with her, and makes a plan to save both Ladybug, akuma Kagami and (even Lila).

That realization is what we’ve all been waiting for and what was wanted in Chameleon. For him to notice just how serious Lila is about bringing down Ladybug.

Chat Noir (Adrien) is disgusted.

How Chat actually handles KNOWING this is so cleansing. He realizes Lila hurt Kagami, so he makes sure she’s safe and well taken care of.

My heart did break a lil knowing that Ladybug didn’t get her fist bump. . . But he prioritized someone’s who was actually hurt.

That’s OUR Adrien.

Now we can conclude with Adrien not only simply knowing Lila is a snake, but also knowing that she could and WILL bring harm to the people he cares deeply for.

Which is why he CAN NOT OUT HER BECAUSE SHE’S THAT DANGEROUS.

Instead he gives her the cold shoulder and that takes a LOT. If someone tried hurt the person I love/care for, I couldn’t even look that person in the face.

It takes a lot to be able to stay “humble” against someone you dislike.

Adrien treats Kagami how he treated Marinette when she “confessed to Chat” by spending time with her and asserting that she IS important to him. (He did that too with the hug for Mari in Weredad).

His feelings may still be all about the “mysterious” Ladybug, but he won’t let Lila break down two important and valid girls.

Of course though. . .

Hawkmoth still needs those miraculous, and seeing as Lila can cause akumatizations and even lure LB and CN as a victim during that, Gabriel decides to “hire her” on as an “inside man”.

This means things can only get worse . . . But that’s yet to be seen.

So that was a summary with main focus on the important parts, now let’s talk about how the whole “girls vs girls all for one boy” thing should have been left out.

I’m genuinely upset about this that I don’t have much to say about other than why the hell was this in here?

These girls shouldn’t go all “yandere” over one dude who just genuinely misses his mom and hopes his dad would be decent.

How the actual development is going (when you dig through the episodes in a specific order so far), you do faintly see that this thankfully isn’t a permanent thing (SW2 was a bust but it wasn’t all for nothing), but it just shouldn’t have been in there to begin with.

My 2 cents on James Charles Drama

I feel like this post is gonna get me sooo canceled! lol but you know what, its ok...i only have like literally only 8 followers lmao.

Anyway, when i say anything online....or when i generate an opinion I feel like I’m objective 90% of the time. Obviously everyone is at least a bit bias when it comes to any subject. Well, here are my semi-objective 2 cents that no one fucking asked for ;)

First off, I’ll put my PRE-dramageddon (as coined by Hereforthetea2) opinions of the main people involved:

James Charles-I followed him on youtube, but I felt like he was super annoying and full of himself. I didn’t see him as a bad person though, just someone who I would never want to be friends with. I wanted to buy his palette but never did because I dont think i’d ever wear those shades. I didn’t LIKE him persay but I didn’t hate him either. His videos were actually entertaining at times so thats why I subscribed to him.

Tati- I had recently started watching her perhaps at the end of last year. I didn’t have that strong of opinion of her, but i felt like I could trust her. She seems like she’s honest in everything she says and I’ve seen many youtubers praise her which is why i followed her on youtube. 

Gabriel Zamora- I didn’t know much of him until he did that collaboration with his 3 best friends, the videos where it featured manny, laura, and nikita....and he mentioned he was Mexican and I was like HEY, I’M mexican, so i started following him. He seemed unproblematic, and after His own scandal he seemed to be the only one who actually prospered from it. So i thought he was okay.

Jeffree Star- I feel towards him similar to how i feel about James. Like I LOVE watching his videos, he’s super funny and entertaining, BUT i dont think he’s a good friend. I feel like he’s a manipulator and also acts so entitled. I also don’t think he’s a bad person, he just has a negative attitude. And i wont really go into detail on the whole racism thing, because its not my place to talk about it. I was gonna say i’m not a person of color, but i am, i’m mexican, however the remarks were derogatory towards African-Americans so yeah, i have no say in that matter. To sum up, I love watching him and i love his makeup, but i dont trust him.

Now on to Dramageddon II!

I have so many thoughts on this, but at the moment i’m super hungry so i’m probably going to make this shorter than I expected lol

To start off, based on all the evidence that has presented itself, I believe that James Charles indeed made a deal with Sugarbear and then fabricated the story of Coachella so that Tati wouldn’t be mad. His crime there was being Money Hungry like always--choosing money over friendship. 

Now Tati’s video. It was a great watch. She spilled so much tea that I could not even. I understand why she’s upset. She expected certain loyalty from someone that was so close to her and she felt used. I totally understand why she would want to cut all ties with him. Although I do feel like there might be something deeper there, but obviously we might never know. 

Her allegations though about labeling him as a ‘predator’ was a bit harsh though. Unless there’s things she has not shared...based on the presented evidence, I don’t see how that makes James a monster. 

I guess here I’ll tie in my issue with Gabriel. He went on a rant on Snapchat and in SOME details i agree with. I don’t agree with him saying that Tati is exaggerating but I do agree with how they are painting James as this horrible person that takes advantage of people. 

I’ve seen the videos that Gage and the waiter boy posted and one, the gage guy seems like he’s literally doing it for clout. Based on his video he does not seem like a good person at all, and i totally believed that he used James for free stuff. And the other boy--- his video was more genuine, he sounded sincere but I dont see how that makes James a bad person. This boy slid into James’ DMs first and he admitted to being bi-curious. Where did James go wrong in doing stuff with him? There’s no evidence or allegations of James FORCING himself on to him. So what exactly was the bad thing he did? Like did he threaten his family? Did he blackmail him? Like what was that super bad thing he did? I’m not excusing James, I just dont want to condemn him if there’s not evidence that he did something illegal or fucked up. But i guess we all have our opinions on that matter. Oh! and then the face time thing, aside from it being illegal, the boy in the video was getting upset over facetime about James ‘talking to another guy (gage)’ and james responded with ‘yeah why do you care’....SO TRUE....if this boy was saying he was actually straight and only wanted a friendship with James, WHY bring that up? Does James have to let his friends know what other friends he has? If it was nothing intimate then what was that about? Thats the thing that makes no sense on this boy’s part. But anyway.........

Oh and then Jeffree inserts himself like always lol He loves that drama! I feel like his tweet was just to spark up speculation. We all know thats how the internet works. You throw out some vague tweets and suddenly everyone is theorizing left and right. If anything what i think happened is perhaps James was hitting on Nathan’s brother. But again, if it was something deeper then LETS HEAR IT!! 

Okay okay, i know this rant is pointing towards me being pro James Charles, but in reality....its none of my business....its just super entertaining when I’m not studying lol

To be honest, I’m with you all there sitting with popcorn watching James’ sub count drop on social blade lol Why? Because, I think he did deserve a slice of humble pie. He literally acts like he’s entitled and like he’s this big celebrity. I hope that this experience shows him that he’s not untouchable and that his subscribers are responsible for his wealth. Which brings me to another point, you guys realize that he’s still getting PAID so much money right? Even with the unsubs, people are watching his videos like crazy and making him that coin. 

Even though I’m loving the tea and loving watching him being dethroned, I’m also concerned for his mental health. I know I’m being a hypocrite talking shit, but I doubt he’ll ever see this. I hate it when people throw hate directly at the person. Guys, we don’t KNOW these people. Why do WE feel entitled to direct tweet them or DM them hate when the situation is none of our fucking business? Why DM hate to any of the people involved in this drama??? We might all have strong opinions, and sure we can express them on the internet, but lets not be horrible human beings and direct them to the actual people who we’ve never met.

ok im kinda tired from studying all day and i just watched the latest episode, and ive got some thoughts??? but im not in the best state of mind to articulate everything so imma just do some dot points:

- letting everyone have a go as a superhero: i dont agree with; it sort of trivialises that kind of power and is contradictory to master fu’s own experiences with his carelessness,,, like did you even learn anything from hawkmoth lmao... idk why but this thing upset/made me most uncomfortable, it just seems like a lot of carelessness, but tbh this is also a kids show with a kids audience so i guess you do have to sacrifice some elements of common sense/rational thought and action/general consistency with fu’s decisions for some Cool Heroes and Fun New Powers

- leading on from this, what is our position on how we treat kwamis?? : these are sentient beings, these are actual gods ( i think?? i havent read the comics), who are chained to a miraculous. what is our (by that inclusive, im referring to the characters in the show + the actual audience + producers) actual position on them?? so we respect them as mentors and guides + actual gods, but do we also treat them with the same triviality as the miraculous object itself??? something to give away and lock up at will, something to utilise only in times of need?? and those are only in part rhetorical qqs, im genuinely curious and i wont judge if thats the way things are

- chat noir and rena rouge: y’all can argue that their interactions were strictly platonic but imma fight for this; he was blatantly flirting with her. he kissed her hand, he was *casually* leaning against his baton, leaning in towards her, ok admittedly, i know french culture is a lot more direct and touchy than western culture and i havent down my research lmao but it felt a lot like he was interested??? i mean these are the same stuff he does to ladybug??? and alya (maybe she saw it as just platonic) but she also indulged him even tho shes already in a relationship ??? lol idek maybe its just me, but the first introduction made me feel uncomfortable coz of that (the second interaction was much more platonic tho)

- keeping chat noir out of the loop: ive seen a lot about this already on the tags, and 100% agree. at this point i dont know what to make of the relationship between lb and cn. @the ml producers, whether you wanna sell them as partners or as a duo where ladybug is the Main, ill support, but pls: consistency. i feel like theyve always been presented as a partnership, like two parts of one whole, but this ep kinda went against that? marinette has visited fu many times (implied), he allowed her to choose a hero, he himself explained all that detail about the miraculous’ to her, she left chat noir to fend for himself (without explaining the plan) while she went to find fu. adrien, who took gabriel’s book to learn more himself, didnt even get the chance to learn properly. and i bet that had he been given the opportunity to read, lb wouldve been the first person he went to. partnership = developing together, making decisions together, being transparent and clear w/ each other. i didnt see that today. what i saw was something more akin to batman and robin, hero and sidekick

- development/consistency w/ ladybug and chat noir’s (general) relationship: again, ik this is a kids show, and each episode is meant to be independent of each other, and there isnt a fixed sense of continuity. and this dot point sort of touches on the last 2 as well, but a change in the dynamic had so much potential to progress on ladybug and chat noir’s relationship (there could’ve been conflict, there could’ve been insecurities, there could’ve been distance, esp. following the Glaciator ep). the producers could’ve used this opportunity to see a shift in their general relationship + some solid characterisation (in relation to their partnership/dynamic) and actually lay some solid groundwork beyond the whole lovesquare thing.

- alya in general: ok so a positive: some good characterisation for alya. it was gr8 to see some more insight about her family dynamic, her own interactions w/ her siblings, the type of person she is beyond school and the ladyblog. shes undoubtedly worthy to receive that miraculous; headstrong, focused, learns quickly (thats a bonus). but i gotta agree with some of the posts circulating, marinette, as professional as she can be when she has to, is still ultimately biased. master fu tells her himself to choose someone she trusts (according to the translation i got), and doesnt that entail some subjectivity??? thats not to say that she chose her just bcoz theyre friends because marinette would be blind not to see all these gr8 qualities in her bff. but like ppl are saying, i think alya shouldve been chosen by virtue by the guardian, who knows these miraculous’ more than anyone, knows the sort of characters each miraculous is suited to, instead of marinette randomly selecting one and giving it to her best friend.

- gabriel: is a hypocrite and does not deserve to be a parent, but what else is  new lmao

the following is a list of characters who appear in the ‘St. George’s’ RP saga (even tho they havent been at St George’s in like, a long time, shush, details). 

characters with an ‘r’ are played by reynarda , with a ‘t’ by tsukasakadoya, and with a ‘j’ by me, still_jones573 . 

some characters do not really belong to anyone and are just there, or have only been mentioned by certain characters that DO belong to someone but said character isnt really being ‘played’ by anyone because they havent appeared, you know.

The Gang: aka the primary characters, they all currently live together in a townhouse owned by Vlad & Bram

(r) Vladimir Drakoni: Full vampire, born in like the 1400′s?, has a long-standing feud with the Council Chair, Claudios Von Batts. His family was removed from the Council, but he is still pretty involved in their business, cuz he’s nosy and doesnt trust them. Magically tied to Bram by things beyond comprehension, and has after many decades, gotten used to it and they’ve even been able to harness the power of friendship, to the horror of their enemies everywhere. Is short (at least enough that Bram likes to tease him for it), has dark hair (?) 

(r) Abraham Lluewen (??sp?): Human, born in like the 1400′s to the family of hunters that created ‘silverblood’, a liquid silver that is particularly dangerous to vampires. Has worked for and with the Hunter’s Guild over the years, most recently as the head of St. George’s (a monster-hunting school, basically), though is now on ‘parental leave’. Along with Vlad, has a tendency to get into dangerous situation, and also to collect sad magical children and make sure they eat their veggies. Is the tallest member of the Gang, has red hair

(r) Devon Von Batts: Claudios’ son, lived with his human mother until she died when he was a preteen. Stuff happened, he went to juvie, Von Batts Sr. found out he had a son and asked Vlad to pretty please deal with that. Devon lived as Claudios’s son for a few years, having previously been ‘privately tutored’ or whatever. Was part of the plot to infiltrate St. George’s school with young vampire spies, but a lot of stuff happened, he got a bit stabby, things went south, etc. Is now in the care of Vlad and Bram. Recently got his fangs! Has blonde hair, is tall but not quite as tall as his sister (tho this could be because she has a soldier’s posture, and her skininess makes her seem even taller than she is)

(j) Winona Von Batts: Kidnapped from her human mother at birth, raised by creepy vampires who were obsessed with creating a perfect weapon, though they had many and often contradictory ideas about how that should be done. Basically, it really sucked. She eventually killed her ‘family’ when they tried to force her into killing young human girls and drinking their blood, and was picked up by the Guild. Was not exactly communicative, so she ended up at St George’s. lots of stuff happened, now she lives with Bram and Vlad. I think outside the townhouse gang, no one knows (or should know) that she and devon are, in fact, only half vampires. winona is quite tall, and muscular in a way that suggests she was encouraged to exercise frequently but had poor nutrition, tho that has likely been getting less obvious over the last few months. she has brownish stubble across her scalp that might prove to be lighter if it grew out some, but she scratches herself and rips at her head when she’s nervous or often while sleeping, so her head stays buzzed and her nails short.

(t) May Garrison: Quite possibly the destruction of the world is small, adorable human form. a sacred magical ritual on an island went wrong, and the resulting magical baby was taken home by bill garrison who likely did not realize the next 20 years would be spent thinking ‘i was just being a good person, why does magic exist’ may eventually left his island home, and met gabriel, who tasked him with (???? i honestly dont remember the specifics) being at st georges on a plot-heavy day. the aforementioned stuff happened, and tho the Council was reluctant to deal with WInona themselves they also DID not want to just let Vlad have her, so May volunteered his services as a neutral party that would report on Winona’s progress. Is asexual, uses magic through precious gems and stones, likes pineapple on his pizza to the dismay of many. the shortest member of the gang by far (he’s like 5′1″? 5′2″?), i think he’s blonde?, and he wears a lot of very bright outfits

(j) Alex Moraes: Full vampire, from standardly rich and powerful family. Grew up living on the Yates plantation, going to fancy boarding schools, alternatively learning ball room dance and financial investment strategies, visiting the Moraes home in the Andes, etc, etc. Feels a LOT of pressure to be a perfect son and heir, in the human and vampiric traditions, tho honestly he could probably relax about that, as he is already doing WAY better than his parents were at his age. Is gay and closeted and has a lot of conflicting feelings about that, also has an enormous crush on May that is obvious to everyone but may. Is growing his hair out because he wants to have a stylish mane like his father, and because he no longer goes to a boarding school that forbids that sort of thing. maybe also because sometimes may admires it, but im sure thats just convenient

The Legal Team: aka other important people that show up and do stuff, mostly covering everybody’s ass even tho they themselves are kinda an ass

(t) Gabriel Last Name?: Vampire (presumably full, as his family used to have a Council seat), lawyer, May’s employer and friend. Has his fingers in many pots as it were, perhaps not all entirely legal. Bad blood between him and his brother Chris, who absconded with all the family’s wealth and hasnt been heard from since (many many years ago- at least 20 or 30?). Not really the most warm and generous seeming of people, but has come through for the gang. Most notably, he was their legal representation in the case of ‘yall dont really want this dangerous vampire child who might kill you while you sleep, why dont you give her to bram and vlad while you clutch at your pearls and pretend you care about atrocities committed on your watch mkay?’ he and his boyfriends (denatro, a full werewolf and Locke, a bitten vamp) came to the townhouse for an awkward yet hilarious yet terrible christmas dinner. has red hair, generally dresses himself in a corporate fashion

(j) Maria Moraes: full vampire, Council member, member of indigenous population based in the Andes mountains that no longer exists any more, trans woman, also born in like the 1400s (honestly i forgot??), alex’s other mother but that is known to like, three people. a shrewd and savvy businesswoman, Maria is a no nonsense lady who is very unimpressed with the amount of nonsense alex has recently gotten into. but also sees the value of having Von Batts in her debt, and allying herself with Vlad and Bram, as well as Winona- she doesnt like wild cards, but she’d rather they be in her hand than loose in the deck, as it were. she secured the votes of other councillors for the ‘vlad gets winona and devon’ plan, and is apparently quite comfortable manipulating her colleagues. she has many business and political connections in the human world as well, as she does not subscribe to the isolationist theory many old supernatural beings prefer. in a not-serious-but-maybe-serious relationship with Mags, a werewolf gal from Deno’s pack. practices magic, but more like ‘spells’ and potions than the abilities Vlad has. can turn herself into a hawk, which is quite useful as she hates mechanized transportation

The Extended Fam & Friends: aka some more people that the Gang is fond of

(t) Bill Garrison: May’s adopted father, a very patient but bewildered man. His family, especially his parents are well respected in the community, which allowed him a bit more flexibility in the ‘adopting this random and potentially dangerous baby’ thing. handyman and builder

(t) Henri LastName: May’s best friend and confidante. Is a ‘guardian’ (i think that’s what they are called? basically, she’s involved with the giant world eating snake thing their island has going on, though she seems much more friendly with May than the others in her position). A take-no-shit lady, sells fish, i dont think she gets along with her mother? rocks a nice suit

(j) Matt Moraes: Alex’s ‘father’, Maria’s older brother, married to Annabelle. Enjoys art perhaps a little too much, as he seems to have taken the ‘my wife and sister can do as they please so long as im not interrupted from this project’ and honestly, they have some /dangerous/ projects that could use somebody willing to stand up to them. But generally, a kind man who has a good life- his marriage to annabelle is primarily a political one (they’re both gay), but they get along well enough in public that few would suspect they aren’t genuine. also, absurdly handsome. has a great beard and great hair, College Professor Hot™

(j) Annabelle Yates: full vampire heidi klum. elle woods disposition and charm, the manners of a southern belle, but also a cross between iago and mrs. bennet- she loves to know everybody’s business and she LOVES to be involved in it. not necessarily ill-intentioned in her manipulations, but manipulative nonetheless. has dabbled in most of the potentially high-profile ‘socialite careers’, tho right now is mostly focused on cooking and catering (but goodness knows that could change on a whim). she makes it a point to always look put together and have control over any situation, but she is incredibly protective of alex. loves parties, loves being adored, loves being right. has been known to flaunt whichever lingerie model she’s been seeing at maria, her ex, in attempts to make her jealous. does not actively practice magic, as her family has the rather unfortunate predisposition to go mad with power lust in their obsession to acquire more and more dangerous magics. has long, bright red hair and a smile a dentist would love to use in advertisements. (also, is maybe pregnant! this was going to alluded to more heavily in a thing i will hopefully eventually post that explored matt’s relationship to his family, but i was having difficulty with the dialogue and abandoned it for the time being, so)

(t) Denatro LastName: Deno, full werewolf, son of his pack’s previous alpha and younger brother to the current one, but has not been ‘home’ in years. his dad was an asshole that made him feel like having had a complicated birth (has only one eye, usually wears a patch over it in human form) was somehow in his control and thus his fault his mother died. Married to Locke, and the two are dating Gabriel. Deno is somewhat grumpy, not keen on people or tidiness or many other things besides. His wolf form is on the smaller side for a werewolf, but he’s faster and nimbler for it (i think he has black fur? and a very good nose?) annabelle thinks his butt looks nice in his suit, deno thinks wearing suits should be outlawed. has tried to eat a cat at least once.

(t) Locke Smith: owns a gas station with Deno in canada, bitten vampire, that’s not his real name (i mean, at least none of the Moraes-Yates gangs are still going by their original names, so he’s fine). Got into some real awful shit with some vampires when he was younger and had to kill his sister after she got violent, first met gabriel as his lawyer. eventually took up hunting, met and started dating Deno, got bitten at some point, got married at some point. reconnected with gabriel, they started seeing each other. like deno, is not keen on socializing, but is far more patient and polite about it. seems to wear a lot of turtlenecks

Ye Olde Baddies: people the gang dislike and/or have to fight against or are just generally suspicious

(r) Claudios Von Batts: Council Chair and leader, full vampire, full trash bag. i keep wanting to sympathize with him, but R assures me not to bother. slept with a human woman (the indignity! for a respectable vampire anyways) after his vampire wife died, obviously did NOT follow up. feels comfortable enough going to vlad when he needs help with child custody stuff, but also is cool with kidnapping and torturing vlad, so. power amongst the councillors and the supernatural community in general have been shifting, and Von Batts wishes to hold onto his at all costs. Is blond, is paranoid, lives alone in his huge mansion (maybe he listens to phantom of the opera as he swoops around? who knows)

Gautier: i almost forgot about him? full vampire, Council member, french dude. generally, a grade A creep. likes to ‘collect’ things (people, lbr). Assumedly connected to and even employing Rawe, and perhaps behind the kidnapping attack on May. i described him as looking older and ugly, but at times ive also implied vampires can influence their appearances, so who know. maybe he likes looking a guy colbert would make fun of

DeLuna: another random council member? wants von batt’s power for herself, seems suspicious of the commonly held belief that the twins were his late wife’s children. had her car stolen by May and Winona.

(j) Jack: cosmic entity charged with making sure sentient life doesn’t magic itself out of existence on accident. why Maria and Matt are the only remaining members of their civilization, gained the ability to posses a human body after helping merlin out, and now just hangs around on earth sometimes, eating food and enjoying carnal delights, etc. has become fond of Matt over the centuries they been sharing the second, but is unlikely to admit it. is absolutely enthralled by the prospect of May, and was invited to the New Years party in an effort by annabelle to satisfy jack’s curiosity without exposing may to much danger. is currently inhabiting the body of a dutch coma patient, and sorta looks like a man who hasnt left a hospital bed in years- very grayish skin, limp black hair, creepy eyes

dr rawe: .... a boogey-man, magic scientist dude? we needed to shake stuff up with some drama, so i created him to kidnap May and then came up with the explanation for what he was later on, dont judge. at any rate he’s dead now, having been quite injured by the gang and then eaten by jack

party goers: people at Annabelle’s primarily-human New Year’s Day party that the gang and others are interacting with

(j) Ilhan: human, Alex’s friend from prep school who is currently studying at MIT. Also, his girlfriend- the relationship was always a bit of an intentional ruse, but Alex has never actually talked to her about it, and probably should. I suspect that she genuinely does like him and would be hurt if he admitted that he has no interest in her, but probably not surprised. is wearing a white hijab and a long dress with galaxies across it

(j) gavin LastName: human, son of the fictional texas governor. a real asshole. he and alex dated secretly for awhile, under the pretense that gavin would be ostrasized and disowned if he came out, and became very manipulative of alex. it eventually became clear that gavin was largely just using alex for his own means, mutual friend Ilhan got real damn angry and things went south. gavin is... bitter about this. i keep trying to sympathize with gavin and give him more complex motivations (there are lots of people who cannot come out and that is valid! it is not inherently abusive to ask your partner to keep your relationship private! -things that i think and also alex probably thinks when he frets about it and wonders that maybe he /was/ in the wrong, no matter what ilhan claims) but honestly hes just a superficial high school jock villain and it can probably be left at that

(j) Chris Yates: i gotta rename him because there are only so many red haired characters that can have a brother named chris, but he’s annabelle’s younger half brother and runs their security firm. (they freelance with the mob, they are NOT the mob, its different) a decent dude, though was a stereotypical ‘big brother’ to alex growing up- as in, he was WAY cooler to hang out with than alex’s parents, but also likely to tell him scary stories and encourage him to do dangerous things that annabelle would have absolutely forbidden. i got some other backstory on him with the Yates family and the civil war and all that stuff, but basically he was very useful when annabelle exerted herself as head of the Yates family (i dont wanna say he shot folks who disagreed with her, but thats pretty much what happened)

annabelle’s ‘family’: yall i keep meaning to post something meaningful about the ‘cousins’ but basically its a large collection of full vampires and bitten vampires and a few in-the-know humans who were brought in as significant others but didnt want to be bitten. its not exactly ‘Council approved’, but they’re basically a coven of vampire rednecks and muscle thugs and the council was like ‘if we recognize the Moraes-Yates marriage and give Moraes a council seat then we have power over Annabelle and by extension her coven, without actually having to directly interact with her coven, soooo’ Technically Maria is ‘head of the family’ in the ways that matter for vampire law, but to the cousins, Annabelle is head of the family in the ways that /actually/ matter, and in the ways recognized by the old magics of the yates matriarchs. she keeps them out of trouble, disciplines them as needed, and the Council generally gets to sleep sounder at night knowing that at least things are much better than they were before annabelle took charge (and killed and exiled a good portion of said trouble-causing family, but thats another thing!)

Assorted Side Characters: aka people who i forgot to mention or didnt have a category

(r) the vampire doctor lady whose name i forgot: she’s friends with Vlad and gets away with because the supernatural community is pretty shit about medical research and the Council can’t really afford to alienate the world’s best (and only) expert on vampire health and wellbeing. probably one of vlad’s inside eyes and ears on the Council, has been treating Winona to recover use of her voice

nora: winona’s primary care-giver until she was maybe seven or so, and protected her from some of the abuse of the others. was presumably killed by the others in the coven, but if we ever need a new plot idea, nora can definitely be alive. though goodness knows if she really cared for winona or was just another manipulative sicko, so i supposed i would have to figure that out

victoria: a mysterious lady that Bram used to date, much to the displeasure (and detriment, it seems) of Vlad. Possibly why Vlad is so against Bram dating in the present

the folks on the island: May’s community is something of another mystery- Henri and Bill, at least, are very much on May’s ‘side’ as it were, but it seems that sentiment is not widely embraced, and there may be some who are anxious for May to die young, as has been predicted

(j) FirstName Domagala: aka ‘Mags’, a werewolf from Deno’s pack. She is older than him (maybe 5, 7 years? idk) and is also in a somewhat self-imposed exile, tho the details of that are unknown to us (aka i havent decided) and she formally left the pack several years after Deno had. She initially left to study medicine (surgery, specifically), but in recent years her seizures (which she used to only get after transforming) have forced her out of practice. is ‘seeing’ Maria, and weirdly enough, it seems to be approaching a ‘real relationship’, tho who knows. her parents were well respected and loved, her father being deno’s father’s best friend. she DEF killed him. it should be noted that Mags has several variations and though Werewolf Mags is certainly not warm and personable, she is a LOT nicer than Apocalypse Mags and Mutant Mags. 

sara weaver, greg parker, some other gal whose name i dont remember: the other kids in this generations vampiric baby boom. greg was the youngest by a few years, and real shy and nervous i think? and sara and alex have always been friends in the same way you might be friends with the kids of your parents college friends that you see once or twice a year- you get along and enjoy catching up, but outside of that connection, you dont make a lot of effort into maintaining the relationship. initially they were maybe going to be closer, but i decided that if alex supposedly had a ‘normal’ life he should maybe have some human friends, so ilhan became his primary friend outside the gang. sorry sara.

apologies for the many details i got wrong or outright neglected (like gavin’s last name, which i have already forgot, or Mags’ first name, which i STILL havent come up with, despite the character having originated even before her appearance in the Northern Ridge Werewolf RP sheesh i should get on that) i tried to include physical descriptors when i remember them, but obvs they are not complete nor necessarily accurate.
