Not to go "if you have ADHD just go for a run" or anything, but I am so serious if you have ADHD you should regularly go outside, no headphones no phone no nothing and just stand and observe for a while until you've had enough. Not until you get bored, until you've had enough. Drink your coffee without watching tiktok. Have a bath without music. Turn down the volume in your headphones. I cannot overstate how much learning to be bored is cruicial with ADHD. Life is not just about pleasure, no matter what your dysregulated dopamine system thinks, and when you teach your brain to be okay with being bored, then boring tasks stop feeling like torture. By letting yourself be bored you are yoinking your system out of the high/low binary and allow for the highs to feel like actual highs and not just anything that isn't low. I am so serious go literally touch grass. Listen to the sounds in your flat. Stimulate your body the way it was designed. It lowers anxiety and makes you feel like you're real and best of all it's completely free

when i am thirty-three and finally hitting my stride and high-school-me is a young girl i have long since absolved and sent to bed        and when i’ve come to adore the quiet i’ve built in the evenings while the families sit at their tables and i dip brushes into paints       and when i’ve perfected the task of summarizing my life in a way that does not make people feel sorry for me        and when i have quit thinking about it at all, even in flimsy, fleeting fantasies,  that’s when Love arrives.  Love is a moppy anachronism with one muddy shoe wedged in the doorframe at eleven-thirty p.m. on a weeknight, about ninety thousand hours since the last time i even thought to set a place for it at the table           and asks me through crooked teeth what’s for dinner        and i tell Love that dinner has come and gone and that i’ve been making single-serving meals for the last  ten years anyway because i am self-actualized and content        and Love asks me what’s for dinner,    and i forgive Love for tracking mud across the carpet i had finally remembered to vacuum    and i forgive Love for arriving with watery eyes and an empty belly and without calling ahead       because there are leftovers packed away in the fridge and blankets folded up in the hall closet      and i forgive Love for arriving messy        and i forgive Love for arriving late and i forgive Love for arriving       because Love arrived.

OKAY CHAT SO. YESTERDAY!!!!! my english teacher emailed me saying how she loved my writing (one of our final assignments was to write a mini memoir) and that i taught her a lot + i should keep writing AND RECOMMENDED I SIGN UP FOR WRITING CONTESTS AND STUFF and it really touched me because idk how to feel about my writing but it is really fun AND UM MORE YAPPING BELOW CUT

okay anyway having someone believe in u is really nice. like obviously my family and friends keep encouraging me in a family and friend way but since my english teacher has no personal relation to me and yk. IS AN ENGLISH TEACHER. it means more? in a way.

one of the contest's due date is christmas eve so idk if i can churn something out in 3 days (also my brain feels like soup after this semester) but ill see what i can do and if anything it'll just be another fun unfinished wip. hashtag enjoying da process

UH FINALLY not that i was going to *abandon* writing but i didn't really have any plans to do it seriously because well. ive decided to follow the animation path and since im lightyears behind my classmates let alone the rest of the industry i figured i'd focus on that! BUT URHURH its just an example of how many hobbies i want to dedicate myself to. i keep remembering i have a ukulele that i have yet to master. i wanna keep crocheting. i miss skateboarding. I WANT TO DO SO MANY THINGS

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY it also meant a lot to me because as a wee baby child i realized hey i want. to make stories. and my thought process immediately was that well authors dont make a lot of money so maybe not.... and then later that turned into hey i like to draw. animation = draw + storytelling = perfect career for me!! before i wondered if animators put food on the table as well... then went back and forth between more 'practical' stuff... ANYWAY obviously i chose animation so pray for me lol

my point is i love how child me keeps winning. maybe the things u love can have a place in ur life. maybe. (EVEN IF IT ISNT A MONEY MAKER BTW. practicing art as a hobby is obviously fine duh!!!!)
