I have seen a few DCxMarvel dimension travel fics, and quite a few of them are of them are Peter Parker post-blip. Which gives me a crack fic idea: everyone who got snapped ended up in the DC universe. Yes, all of them.

The current world population is around eight billion, so half of that would be 4 billion... Yeah that would cause so so so many problems. But the DC universe is used to crazy shit.

Obviously there would be a sudden influx of "new" heroes and villains but with absolutely no context it is hard to figure out who is who.

Batman immediately trying to make contingency plans for all these new heroes and villains as well as figure out their civilian identities but this is very difficult because literally no records exist yet.

Magic users from both worlds team up, but I think they were still unable to fix it, the infinity stones were just too powerful. Also I think Dr. Strange and Constantine can't stand each other.

While I am at it, Wonder Woman and Loki would probably hate each other too. DC is more Greek but it has had their own version of Norse mythology, so maybe they are the same and have beef?

They would struggle to feed and house that many new people, but getting them jobs and integrating them into society would be hard too. And good luck proving anything anyone says. "You swear you have a law degree from Harvard? Okay I guess."

Do doubles exist? Yeah a lot of people probably don't have an alternate universe double, but it stands to reason some do. How do you deal with having a new kind-of twin? Or a dead friend or relative coming back, but different? Or even someone you never knew/doesn't exist in this world insisting they are family.

Some au double ideas I have seen people toss around are: Dick Grayson as Richard Parker, Kara Danvers as Carol Danvers, Steve Trevor as Steve Rogers, and Slade Wilson as/being somehow related to Wade Wilson, but I am sure there are other fun ideas out there too.

The snap didn't just affect humans/earth! So other planets are having the same problems.

Then randomly, five years later, just when people were getting used to the change, they all disappear again without warning. This causes as many problems as the original appearance did.

Is… is there an option to fully support ‘platonic relationships can and should absolutely be just as meaningful as romantic ones’ and ‘there’s a good chance the subtext wasn’t even intentional or maybe was never there at all’ and ‘they made the heartbreak tweet and named one of the songs Lokius and put thematic parallels and at this point are probably doing this on purpose’ and ‘it really shouldn’t matter who Loki ends up with because it’s not meant to be a romance, it’s meant to be about him as a person’ and ‘personally I would really like Loki and Mobius to end up together because I think they’re cute and very compatible’ and ‘I like Sylki but I think Disney is doing it wrong’ and ‘fucking hell Disney give us some decent homosexuals already’? My head hurts.

Me, an aro: I LOVE IT when characters choose to focus on their extremely important mission instead of following their love interest, when they keep doing what they have to do instead of prioritizing love.

the entire season they've shown sylvie perpetually being okay to just walk away from the fray and getting no consequences whatsoever. which would be ok since she doesn't rlly care about them like loki does. but in the end she just moves on so fast after she watched loki isolate himself and go off JUST to fix her mistake.......

meanwhile mobius is there, frozen in that time, left behind by the person he's an "expert" on not only bc of his job but bc of their friendship, him quitting the job that was his entire life, because loki has left and his previous purpose didn't have loki anymore

it's just fucked up how everyone else got their happy endings (good for them) except for loki and mobius. they're apart, separated once again, looking miserable in their last shots. just like last season.

the fact that mobius first appearance was him in a church, bathing in yellow light. and his last appearance was him underneath the tree, sunlight with a tint of green shining on him. something something about changes of faith, him finding new purpose, new belief, new god and how said god exists because of his belief, of his unwavering faith and trust, and how the place of worship isn’t needed anymore, with him the tree might as well be a cathedral. yeah, yeah something about that

Something so,,, ferally pathetic within me awoke when he said "No, there's no comfort. You just choose your burden." and her saying "Sometimes, it's okay to destroy something." and it happens in the moment where the camera is in their most personal angles, in their most sincerest and truthful, and their barest and in the very moment Loki sought out the two perhaps most important people to him now. An emotion I havent so much as felt since watching Doctor Who over five years ago. The fact that Loki sought him at the beginning, at his first day there at the TVA, and her at the very last. They are Two contradicting viewpoints that are so on opposite ends that the line at which they meet is reconciled. Like a loop. Like an ouroboros. The extremes that meet in a natural blur. A chaos in order and an order in chaos. The natural way, how life SHOULD be.

you realize there is no punchline, and youve been looking at this the wrong way (a waste of time)

but you know what? loki didnt confine himself to the scenario, the fixed narrative. there was going to be something different, this man decided! he stopped confining himself to "kill her and we all live or kill me and let you all die!" no, if loki was always bound to lose then chose to lose and gain something at the same time

loki chose his burden, and its not the most glorious, not the most easy of pains, but from where he sat? this was good as it gets. he almost looks satisfied, somehow happy and you know what? damn, if that didnt make me feel bittersweet.

he chose his burden, understood there is no comfort, and destroyed and rebuilt it all, and redefined the game.

and perhaps in knowing that there is no comfort in his purpose, only burden, feels almost like comfort in and of itself. just knowing is enough. to him, just knowing his friends are safe is enough.
