Some of my favorite outfits are very unique clothes that I've stumbled across over the years second hand. They aren't being made anymore, so they're hard to find again (cheaply.) Meanwhile I probably paid no more than 8 dollars for any of it...that's just the pro of shopping at thrift stores and being the same size for years. I had plenty of time to amass these things.

Obviously, it's really hard to have gotten bigger after having my baby for a number of reasons. I'm trying to appreciate my new body and feel confident, working through those things. But the aspect of probably never being able to fit in clothes that I'd considered my "uniform" to the level of "if I was a cartoon character they'd animate me rotating these clothes" is heartbreaking.

#obvious answer #buy new clothes that make me feel that way #but thrift stores are awash with terrible fast fashion #and tbh there's fewer cute things available in my new size #and I honestly can't afford to recreate my entire wardrobe #I still have some things that fit both sizes I've been #but the really structured and flattering dresses I loved? may never fit again #and I've kept the most important ones cause they're honestly worth hanging onto either for sentimental reasons or cause I COULD maybe fit #or pass them to someone else someday #but I think my actual bone structure has changed so even as I attempt to lose some of the extra weight I gained during pregnancy #I think my body is just?? wider? which is whatever on my hips #like thank God actually cause I hated having narrow hips #I feel more feminine now #but my ribs? fml #tw weight loss #personal

man, you know, nobody asked me, but I have such conflicting opinions on some of the fat falin art, where on one hand: it's always nice to see A Fat Body in fanart anywhere + it's being done in positive ways, for funsies and on the other hand, there is something so familiar about how you are automatically The Fat One if you are a woman simply standing next to a more petite woman, bc I've had a 0% hitrate in seeing people change Marcille's body type and keep Falin's, or change both of them. it's just Falin

#it gives me a negative feeling that I seldom/never get from seeing fat art which is rare #like she's not fat out of thin air For Fun And No Other Reason and she's not fat bc of context #(out of thin air being like just picking a character you like and changing their design just cuz. It is kind of funny how much I've detached myself from appearance directly correlating to gender actually. When I design a character I go. Okay. What would they wear that reflects their personality and surroundings? And I make a character who is a 30 year old divorced man who looks like this:

#He is dressing more femininely than he'd prefer because his whole thing is that he is a closeted transman who is overperforming his assigned #gender for social reasons. BUT even after he starts dressing how he wants it's still the same amount of pink and frills because now he's #doing it because he LIKES it not because he has to. Once he feels more secure in himself.#Like appearance and clothes is important to gender expression no doubt about it but also the world is so beautiful once you go:#Wait I don't have to perform in any particular way if I don't want to. I can do whatever I want forever.#Anyway welcome to my blog where I ask one question: What if a character was repressed? But then gained a support system? And they felt safe #to explore aspects of their identity they'd been ignoring in favor of conforming for safety's sake?

Rook Hunt x Yuu/Reader

Rook was always so put together. Not in the way Jade was of course, but nothing ever seemed to surprise him or make him angry, anything other than that passion or happiness that seemed to shine through.

Maybe that's why they did it.

Vil had just left to start his skin care routine for the night and Epel could apparently be convinced to get enough sleep if one phrased it for Spelldrive practice instead of beauty sleep.

Yuu and Rook were quietly putting away what few study materials were left, a tray of sweets and meats out being stored away for Yuu to take home.

"You mentioned a game earlier, with these?" he says, picking up one of the 'pocky' sticks. It was called something different here, about half the size and richer, but it was more or less the same.

"Yea-Yes." they corrected themselves, "Yes. It's like a game of chicken. Two people bite down on either end and nibble on it until you get to the middle. Whoever pulls away first loses."

Rook's grinned, exclaiming some sort of French, before leaning over the table with the treat offered from his mouth.

Maybe that's why they let the intrusive thoughts win. Just to see what he might look like flustered or surprised. Maybe it was that he was an interesting man. Maybe it was a lot of things.

Before they could really think too hard about it, Yuu leaned across the table and pulled Rook closer by his chin. Their tongue wrapped around the treat to break it in half before simply taking both.

Rook's eyes widened slightly, chocolate smudged on his bottom lip that twitched into a small grin.

"Not bad." Yuu whispered, grasping the handle of their bag and practically running out.

Why? Who's to say?

Really they should have expected some sort of retaliation, but pinned the next day wasn't in the top 10.

No, him finding Yuu curled under some tree only to drop down into a crouch with his knee on one side of their head and their foot on the other was not in the top 10.

"That was a dirty trick, Mon Trickster." he whispered playfully, though his eyes were dancing. His smile was different. Softer. Warmer.

Again, damn intrusive thoughts, because reaching up to pat one of those muscular thighs was not apart of the plan.

"Maybe I'm just testing the waters."

He hums, tucks a strand of hair that had fallen out of place before lightly pulling on it.

"I am picking you up at 7. Nice, but not formal. Wear good shoes for it will be a bit of a walk."

He rises, hops back into the tree, and the faint sound of a zipline starts going before Yuu picks themselves off the ground.

Ace and Deuce, who were waiting underneath the tree for them, can only stare ludicrously.

"What the hell?" Ace asks, staring at the place Rook had left from.

"Well mark me down as scared and horny." Yuu murmurs, looking at the same spot.

"By the seven..." Deuce shakes his head, and then everything passes when Ace makes fun of his blush, and they start to wrestle.

Neither of them notices Yuu's own cheeks until long after it's faded. Thankfully they say nothing when they leave just a little bit earlier than planned.

Afterall, they have a date tonight.
