Soo.. I finally got around to reading/watching L.O.V.E.

I really liked this frame in one of the animatics so I decided to try to redraw it. I thought about keeping the color palette but considering the.. I dunno, atmosphere? In the original animatic? I felt like the darker, dramatic lighting might go better. Though unfortunately it makes it difficult to tell the difference between some pieces. Anyway, @tapakah0 thanks for putting so much time and effort into the comics/animatics! I really liked the way certain parts of the timeline were presented that usually get ignored. (I mean, for fair reason, I imagine it's difficult to figure out how things could go from the turtles being fine to having an entire army to resist against the Krang..)

Being so alienated and rejected, belittled, broken down, shouted at, hit, hurt.

I was human once. I remember it; the way my life was before. The warmth of the sun's rays on my skin. The way others interacted with me. I was one of them. I was not "other".

Things changed. I changed, and with it humanity slipped from my fingers and vanished before I could even blink. I was wrong. Everything about me was wrong. I tried to fit myself into a human mold but I couldn't.

So I embraced it. I've shed my humanity and I wear my canine nature with pride.

But I still wonder what life would be like if I was still human.

How do you find pose references for all those gorgeous and cute and aaaaaaa drawings. H o w. Where. (<-from someone struggling to draw characters interacting)

I don't really use references for poses that much. I'm not sure how to explain this without sounding weird but when I'm about to draw something, I visualize it in my mind, and when it's character art I sort of see them as 3D models that can be posed and rotated. And I just sort of try to replicate that on paper, sometimes it's easy and sometimes it doesn't work out at all (a good reminder that when you browse someone's art, you usually only see the pieces that the artist is at least passably proud of, not the piles of failed projects that went nowhere).
