On the term: Veil of Ignorance (aka "the best way to go steal things is to walk out of the store like everyone else")

Lev gave me the term, or more so he used it quite a few times in front of me and I may or may not have picked up the same definition as he has in my head, but my definition still gets a job done. You may have seen me use it, and I'll explain the concept here, but it boils down to: The utilising and redirecting of the distance - ignorance - between you and other people's mind in order to "veil" or hide something true, mostly the self.

Lev hides in plain sight, uses the veil of ignorance, which is effectively "They don't know to look for me, they don't have the eyes to feel my energy, they don't have the knowledge to put two (my energy) and two (understanding of who that energy belongs to) together, therefore I can just sit among them and they won't know." The veil is that unknowing, unwillingness to learn, and overall, as I said, distance between his mind and the onlookers'. It's a philosophy behind a lot of his appearances where he just shows up and presumes - rightly - that no one is going to click that it's him. The ignorance is used to veil him like fabric would veil his face, where someone veiled can walk past family without even being recognised because ignorance shields recognition.

The concept extends outside this, it's complicated, but boils down to the fact that there's distance between your mind and others as said. Others don't feel your anxiety at being caught, they don't hear your thoughts, they don't know you're trying to hide something... But trying to hide something draws attention - hence, you use ignorance, not obvious forms of concealing, to be the concealment.

If you want to be open about your spiritual self online but don't want harassment, take advantage of the fact that they're ignorant of the importance of you declaring who you are - and find ways to invoke the ignorance. Your rare spiritual posts on a fandom blog draw attention, ignorance comes when you post about the same topic all the time but slip in those spiritual details you wanted hidden casually, and a little less explicitly than you may want. They just blur into the rest of the posting, no one knows which details are ones you dont want reacted to. And remember, your blog is one of many they follow. If someone's not informed that a post you're making is telling truths about you then they will treat it like one in a hoard of thousands of posts, something they may or may not read given it's just, to them, a post. If you want to be obviously x spiritual species but not have attention drawn, do it, and know you're veiled by the fact that no one knew to look out for you.

... And obviously extrapolate this to things outside of tumblr, e.g. your face as a customer is one of many the server sees in a day, they won't know you're anxious about having just cut your hair from long to short because you realised you're trans masc if you don't highlight your anxiety with it. Move with the crowd, move behind ignorance, they are ignorant to your reality until you let them into it. I'm just talking about posts for... a reason...

The key does boil down to the fact that you have to know that if they have the skills to know, they will know, so stay in ignorance. The idea itself is key in my work, where I don't care to announce to the world my relationship with Lev for example, but you will know if you can sense it. i can't hide it from you, but if you are at the skill level to know who we are you will be at the skill level to know its truths - basically... Ignorant people tend (tend, "ignorance" here is a neutral word, it's a quality we all have) to be aggressive when you tell them something they can't prove themselves, or when the truth is on a topic they just emotionally hate... naturally, thats human and indeed being-nature. But the amount of issues that come up when you walk into a room, like in Lev's case, and say "Im Leviathan, hi." The most insecure (speaking neutrally still, we are all insecure in some respects) people, the people with the least grip on their own ability to dissect truth from fiction, are naturally going to be the most scared and the most reactive. We all are like that in certain topics, because insecurity happens in all the areas we don't know much in, so when it comes to topics like spiritual existence, facts of who you are when you're someone powerful, and so on, the best thing you can do is not give the laypeople a reason to start sniffing out details in things that are going to scare them.

Diviners, oracles, (other) gods, professionals, people with keen clear senses, and other people with authority on matters you're veiling will be able to dig through your concealments, but they're less likely to start trouble if not through self-security and confidence in their ability to dissect the world, then certainly when they see and feel and know what you're hiding is a truth they can't fight... So the veil of ignorance not working so much on them is fine at the end of the day if you're strong enough to not have to veil completely, but you can always employ multiple types of concealment.

At the end of the day, it's just a low-energy - therefore very efficient - way of veiling and making yourself invisible. You want distance from yourself and others? You dont want everyone to see you face? Take advantage of the fact that no one is close to you and able to see you until you do the work to let them in, and work with that ignorance and make it work for you.

Why bother planning a heist to steal a cheeseburger at gunpoint from the clerk when you could just take it from the table of someone who went to the bathroom? Bad example obviously, that's nasty lmfao but stealing is the part in our society where we understand - even if we would never ever steal or agree with stealing - that "acting natural" is key to high odds of getting away with it, and the veil of ignorance is similar to that. Similar, but not quite the same, the difference being that the veil of ignorance being employed is not about changing your behaviour, its about being aware of whats around you and the ways in which people will presume you're not doing something they give a shit about paying attention to. It's being uninteresting so that people are uninterested in you. It's less like acting natural with the cheeseburger, and more like coming to a place where roads are being worked on and not acting natural IE wearing a high-vis vest you never would wear otherwise so you can take the traffic cones on to your truck and steal them. Where is the ignorance in others with regards to you? Play there, write there, be there. Put your work everywhere, dance in the day and night, but when the clouds pass over the moon thats when you pull out the moves you dont want anyone to see. You, to the audience, are just dancing, and the obscured movements under cloud cover are presumed to be... just dancing.

Do what you want, but don't drag others into it, and you'll find that the distance between you and others shows you that you werent as involved in their lives and brains as you thought. They're not scanning your posts for every instance you showed your secret kins or whatever, and the people that are doing that are going to look like they see something no one else does.

There's a variety of things used in it - a variety of different types of "ignorance". For me, people thinking I'm crazy and "just" psychotic is reworked into the veil. That's ignorance about who i am and what i can do, and means I can just straight up post "crazy"-seeming things about what i do and am and have people laugh me off. Problem solved. My demon and angel kin years? If I were still in them, I could find myself in the centre of huge arguments about how calling myself a demon or angel means i think im an authority and a this and a that when Im just minding my own business, but if they just think Im crazy? Sucks to be them, they'll never know, they're lost to this part of life because they refuse to find it. Likewise to accusations of insanity, accusations of being a novice when you actually have more skill, being incorrect and unable to see the truth, and so on can be reworked into the veil of ignorance. People's misinformed, malformed, negatively-intended, insulting, ignorant ways of viewing you are gaps between you and them and they are ways in which people will misunderstand you and stop caring about you. Make them do it on purpose.

And im not going to post here at the end about how this shouldn't be used for bad things, or you should take criticism instead of saying its ignorance, because honestly... That misreading of my post is the ignorance in question. I say one thing, you see what you want to see, thanks for the perfect example if you were going to say it. People will always have distance between their mind's projected idea of me and the real me, which means the real me can swim away under the surface while you argue with a projected reflection you think is the fish under the water.

First of all, physical attractiveness is subjective and personal to each individual ☺️

Secondly, I don’t post about George V, or any other member of the House of Windsor simply because my specific interest lies in George V’s second son!

If you scroll through the rest of my (tiny) archive, I believe it is clear that my intention here is not to make larger statements about a particular period in history and who achieved more or less in his/her reign. I really respect and appreciate the small number of folks who follow me on here; I am certain most of them know more than I do about many passages of British history (including the life of George V) and I’m sure I don’t need to be yet another Tumblr telling them about which number George accomplished what!

Here, I just wish to share my own gifs, and high quality photos of one monarch, some of which may not have been seen before, and sometimes with short amounts of more unusual or quirky factual text relating to the particular image. You’ll more likely find me writing a post about what foods Bertie liked & disliked, rather than his role as King-Emperor, because the latter is already widely known. And I’d be the same if this was a blog about any other member of the BRF.

Where I have briefly mentioned other members of Bertie’s immediate family, it has (so far) only been in relation to birthdays, and even then the aim is to also include Bertie in each family photo to honour the day they could metaphorically celebrate together in the sky. So, wait and see, perhaps you’ll get a George V birthday post in June ☺️

Also: if you’re a regular Tumblr browser, I’m sure you’ll have already noticed that many fan pages here (and on other social media platforms) are often dedicated solely to one person/niche interest: it’s part of what makes a fan… a fan!

Finally, there are many other fan pages dedicated almost exclusively to George V, which hopefully you already appreciate if he is your preferred historical figure! I am not able to post here regularly; this is actually a secondary account and I only spend a casual amount of time here. Therefore, having a safe space online for anyone to be as broad or as hyper-specific as one chooses to be within the millions of fandoms out there, is a beautiful thing!

TL;DR It seems pretty obvious that I don’t post about King George V (or anyone else) because this is a King George VI appreciation page ❤️

i wish kataang was written better in the show (MY opinion if any1 stumbles upon this). i don't ~ship~ zutara bc i am an adult and even back then no cos who cares lol but i see the appeal and am attracted to that. i do think we have to retire the trope of the "both sides but falling in love" not because it isn't possible but because post 10/7 (free palestine) i don't think it's worth it to look at it this way anymore. until someone proves themselves not worthy of death because of the resistance fighting back then they NEED TO PROVE THEMSELVES IMMEDIATELY. no more of this i'm in a concentration camp but he's a nazi bullshit. no more i'm a slave but he's the slave master's son (i mean in this case u could have been related but no1 listens to me!) it's repetitive, reductive, and untrue.

of course they're (kataang) together. they were meant to be from the moment they saw e/o and that stupid cave kiss...this is why you don't wait until 32 to watch this lol.

but nothing surprised me and it was meant to be the way it was written. that's also why i find it understandable but shocking people in the universe and apparently outside of it were surprised at aang's turmoil over ozai. like are you joking? he's a 12 year old vegetarian monk. which: i loved his vegetarianism and obviously he was going to be but very casually they put in a line that hints as to why he would be and why many of us are...so i am dedicated to it again.

so wrt that and zutara...the episode where he's with her with the dude that killed her moms and his support of her i can see why people like them. the cave ep obviously but this show is veryyyyy free with affection i noticed and there's some jealousy but they all get over that pretty quickly. i read some of the comics and i could see different rships happening and i definitely think this world lends to queerness (me personally i love monogamy but a certain type lol so not rly interested in much poly but i do like a throuple) but i could see most being bi+ or having identified as that in the past, or labeling themselves but nto limiting. that's just an aside for meee...

so like katara was being katara. i could see suki and zuko being romantic but also a deep friendship that could be deeply affectionate either affect or physically or both bc that's who these ppl are. katara is a very intense person and that's part of why she can be annoying. that's part of why they ALL can be overwhelming. theyre intense, traumatized, repressed kids and teens with mostly good hearts (or just a person so disconnected from herself but also a fascist so u know. her going nuts lol)

About Internet Water Army in the case

This is an ongoing update about the case from start to development. List of all related posts can be found on this blog's pinned post (link provided at bottom of each post as well).

[The purpose of this post is to provide a perspective as to why the Media is raised/blamed regarding the issue. Especially for international fans, as all the encounters happened on Weibo. Also, those who were on weibo, do read through if you will. So although it's lengthy, do try to read all, at least if not the last two parts].

The Media referred by most, is not the common perception of the Entertainment Industry (celebrities, directors, shows, channels, staff etc), but the dark side of the Entertainment industry: Antis, toxic fans, toxic marketing accounts. They are called Internet Water Army💧.

Toxic Marketing Accounts is one of the things they do, these accounts on Weibo has millions of followers, each of their post likes are in the hundred thousands (buyable) to give credibility to passer-bys. Some use similar names to Official accounts, some use similar logos. Their posts are usually subjective or aims to steer view points of a certain celebrity/movie/show. Before the latest update of this post (18.08.21), I just group them all together and term them as Immoral Media*.

*Below is my original post using my original term because at point of first draft, I did not know the official term (so have changed/added the term from Immoral Media to Internet Water Army in content below but retain the content based off first draft).

If you have chased before celebrities, or just simply passed by an article about certain celebrities, recall how some title that caught your attentions were like. Clickbaits is one of the many things they do. If GZ is your first and you do not have Weibo, then this read(link) is good enough.

Just as the term Immoral Media (Internet Water Army), it’s immoral and unethical, but they exists because they are paid to do so. Who pays them? Entertainment Companies, and maybe other Organisations

Normal Media/Marketing vs Immoral Media/Toxic Marketing/Internet Water Army

When a show or movie comes out, the normal Marketing department will generate outreach and buzz so that people know a show is airing soon/know the show exists etc. Official announcements are not enough, because there isn’t much context (limited content to put up as well) so having some other Marketing accounts do the buzz in a planned period to gain awareness through posts, some articles about the casts, the plot summary, the production details etc is normal. This is Marketing, bigger companies will probably have stronger Marketing departments (aka influence) and can hire more Marketing accounts to generate buzz. Celebrities (aka casts) themselves, are also Marketing point.

Then we have the Internet Water Army/Immoral Media, these are what they mainly do:

Create Fanfiction-rumors: Creating rumors about celebrities to shift audience perception of them. [eg. XX was seen with XX leaving a hotel, XX was drunk on Event Y and did ZZZ to AA, XX is dating BB and has been in a relationship for N years etc]

Honing their brain degrading skills: Come up with titled clickbait headings/ trending topics with negative written contents. For articles, exceptionally out of heading content related to the celebrity. [Refer to Baidu, it’s a winner of these, feel free to Google Translate]

Regressing their common sense and understanding skills: Take everything a celebrity does completely out of context in a negative way and create a topic out of it [eg. XX said AA is a ---, “XX raised his finger, a sign of ---?”, XX pushed BB aggressively on Variety Show Y - A competition variety show, XX is in beef with CC because XX was caught giving CC the eye]

Using their fingers to stir shit and bathe each other in it: Escalate all smallest form of possible tension created by fans/themselves into a huge thing by acting as the fandom's fans/lurk in fandom chat groups, and voicing their disguised opinion to spread tension/exaggerate severity of the issue [eg. XX fans mocked AA - in groupchats: tbh I've never liked AA before, AA just gives off a vibe that I dont like and now this? It just disgusts me even more > Yea, i feel this way too. AA has problems / XX Lurkers expressing views on XX about NN, slowly to NNMHFXW - XX did NNMHGT - I cannot accept NNmHfHw, I'm leaving = multiply by 1000++]

Epitome of a self-deteriorate: Creating something out of nothing and react to that something negatively to gain massive attention/reaction [eg. “XX raised his hand on show Y” - dk what XX fans are thinking, are they literally blind? XX fans are tasteless just like XX hahaha / “XX did community service” - they are acting / “XX breathed” - From the start, i thought XX was NN, but I am so ZZZ that XX breathed. Goodbye fandom, i’m leaving. Those who still want to stay I urge you to rethink your life choices] - if I may add, Xiao Zhan’s fanfiction case as well. 

Metaphor - Ability to use bare hands to collect paychecks from the urinal/toilet bowl where their boss/client peed in: Doing all of the above.

Apologies for any term offense, but not apologetic of the term context. This is what they do for a living. Any normal human being who do not like anything, will generally not be interested at anything about it in the first place, so to have some antis/toxic fans knowing certain things and inside jokes/references in their posts questions their goal.

On involved in Internet Water Army/Immoral Media 💧

Fans on weibo during these few months witnessed many of the above on GZ. From rumored girlfriend (spammed with articles) to mean and nasty comments on trending topics, to bouts of insults and fake emotional cryouts by certain fan accounts that GZ's office has to release a number of Lawyer’s letter to them. 

Aside from WOH there were also a few other BL adaptation films that were actually released this year but they did not reach exponential success like WOH. BL adaptations are so highly followed by because this is the key to wealth. Literally. Successful BLs like The Untamed and  Dao Mu Bi Ji saw the amount of wealth fans are willing to spend on the celebrity as compared to say BG or idols (younger fan groups). This is why when WOH shot up exponentially, Immoral Media start to sweat.

Major anticipated adaptations were supposed to air this year eg. Hao Yi Xing(HYX), Sha Po Lang(SPL) etc but was severely held back due to the stricter change in BL adaptations submitting their scripts for approval regulations (WOH manage to submit earlier before the change). Because of this, most final films were rejected and they have to keep re-editing, by then WOH was already months into reaping tonnes of major brand endorsements, shows/movie casting, variety show appearances etc, something that is seen as too successful in the Immoral Media’s eyes, because they have to create buzz for other celebrities, some are specific celebrity oriented and thus circulate rumors about having endorsement opportunities shifted from celebrity X to GZ (think fanfiction-rumors and shit stirrer) causes tension in celebrity fandoms. - A real event just in July:

The Untamed’s cp fandom is called BJYX which had always been in the Top 1 of Cps for 2 years dropped for awhile to Top 2, over taken by LLD. Both of them had a war and hated each fandom, one fandom is somehow not allowed to like the other fandom even casually after everything broke out because it started out with some BJYX toxics photoshopped GZ on of portraits .

Also another case of which he wore the same costume as WYB did in a previous photoshoot and it became a useless comparison of who wore better, who looks better, degrading the other. (Finger stirring shit).

Now apply all of the above things the Internet Water Army do and we have them earning money, while both fandom reacts and hate each other.

In LLD, our own fans started suspecting each other on who is a spy from BJYX and what not.

The first few months of Internet Water Army saw LLDs mostly mocking them because the average age is 30-40s, they know and see through all of their intentions so nothing was big. They were trumpeting and LLDs didn’t even care, what with all the doing tedious stats was not even important to them.

Over time, as the issues they create became more and more serious LLDs did start to care, reporting Toxic Marketing accounts/toxic fans became a daily task, go vote for GZ at certain polls etc, solo fans, and LLD fans also split apart. Solo fans think cp fans use GZ to furnish their fantasies, and cp fans thinks they are the ones furnishing their dreaming-girls fantasy with (aka my boyfriend).

There was also a period where LLD had a habit of continuously mentioning “we are in the 30-40s so we can see through everything about the media, we are all fans for the first time, we are good at spending money (because of purchase power compared to other fandoms)” it was prevalent for so long it felt odd, ‘chasing celebrities the first time’ in particular sounds more vulnerable as a weakness than a strength / sth to be proud of.

Gradually, more secretive/insider confirmed ‘sweets’ were flying around. Fans advised each other to not circulate, and the mindset of “if you know, you know, dont tell.” (This is a problematic mentality, of which fans will still be curious to know and search for it themselves, but this secretive hook is unhealthy. Over the long term, it becomes hard for existing fans to know a lot of things properly to judge for themselves, especially those who knew and publicly reacted, but blasting those who ask and telling those who know to keep quiet, this did not help some to understand why on certain things, even so for international fans, dont know and dont understand, causing misunderstandings. Yes, certain information should not be shared, so why should you react about it publicly in the first place? - Internet Water Army effect)

The last few months (for example the July fan war) created a tonne of seriousness and anger. A period even broke out with a tonne of ‘insider confirmed sweets’ (which is LLD’s daily dose of happiness), it was hard to tell what was real and what was fake. Trending topics became negative and everyone warned each other not to enter because it will give the trends ‘views’ and trend statistics, in reality entering there is to enter an exhibition by the self-deteriorates, collecting the fandom's traffic data (it's a sure lose for fans each time they enter the topic). Everyone even starts thinking that the trend’s popularity was caused by each other (it's true but it can be bought daily and not caused by fans). There was a raise in the number of fans who were getting emotional because they want to protect but Internet Water Army kept coming and got worse, because fans, tbh, not just GZ fans, every other celebrity’s fans are always fighting with an Army, getting played and plotted in that Army's calendar.

Even so, despite all of these, LLD is actually a fandom Internet Water Army may find the hardest to break because they understand GZ so much, they could tell what are fake news regarding GZ, because among everything above, there are still plenty of logical fans to stop many fans from drifting too far and debunking them. Why? 30-40s are grown up adults.

Why 13.8.21 and the Japan issue is plotted?

First of all, in the political climate of China, there are many political dates in a month that is NO-Entertainment news. Because it’s the honoring of certain important political events. It’s like Remembrance Day, thus the sensitivity is higher. On these days, there are usually no news and even the Internet Water Army zip their pants. This year also marks the 100th year of the Chinese Communist Party(link)

Secondly, he had no work schedule on 13 August 2021. A great full day to focus on any other news (because if he had schedules, everyone will turn their attention to his events, what trumpeting outside is just bird chirps). 

Thirdly, when the news broke out, especially about the shrine, the reception was actually quite serious within the fandom so the scale of this might be big but to what extent in reality?

Lastly, 15.8.21 marks the 76th anniversary of the announcement of surrender of Japanese in World War 2(link). Also a day of NO-Entertainment news. 

Timeline of events:

13.8.21 - [His rest day, Eve of Chinese Valentine's Day, Japan News broke out] His rest day, no schedules = increased attention about him online. Lowered guard among fans because they are getting ready for tomorrow's Chinese Valentine's sweets = Caught off guard = Huge break out of fans' reactions

14.8.21 - [Chinese Valentine's Day, Eve of the 75th Anniversary of the announcement of Japanese surrender] Keep a wishful and happy demenaor to not destroy the mood, suppressed thoughts about ZZH's Japan news

15.8.21 - [75th Anniversary of the announcement of Japanese surrender, Official announcement of ZZH's boycott and all China social media account ban] NO-Entertainment news day, Solemn day, not allowed to voice anything so the fandom can only wait for tomorrow to start voicing out/debunking but before they can wait out, the boycott and social media ban happened, every official accounts about him was gone overnight, fans had no time to react

17.8.21 - [All official fandom accounts related to ZZH and JunZhe were locked/removed]

Forced to be silent since the day his matter broke out, over the course of official news release with everything taken down in a day because of the Japan correspondence, his accounts banned overnight across the Chinese media and the overnight cancellation, fans could not speak anything about it. Overnight cancellation like this scale happened for the first time in China, leaving no time to react by the fandom, by the time they can, they are silenced.

When the period of events occured within a set of special dates, it’s not coincidence.

Conclusion

Because he was too successful and had many actually honorable past things, and a hard to influence fandom, Internet Water Army view him as a huge threat enough to want to destroy him, because it’s hard to defeat. With a chance they have, they will hold it till the end, bringing up this issue to the Government during this period also shows a sign of how scared they were of him and perhaps his fandom to plot something like this.

“Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel!“ Y/N gives the camera a wave and blows it a quick kiss with their lips stretched in a delighted grin. They clap their hands together, turning to look at their guest who’s sitting in a chair on their right, his face covered with a sticker in the final cut of the video that their viewers have the opportunity of watching. “Ok, before we address the elephant in the room, I’m gonna ask the elephant himself not to move his head too much cause this is already gonna take a long time to edit, the last thing I need is to animate that sticker over your face to follow your movement.“

“Got it, babe.“ A deep voice replies obediently, earning an approving hum in response. However, just as Y/N’s about to turn to face the camera again, the mysterious - ok, not THAT mysterious - guest leans down and plants a kiss on their cheek.

“Brat!“ They squeal as they turn to glare at the person with narrowed eyes. He doesn’t appear bothered at all, chuckling as he wraps his arms around them in an attempt to soften them up. Sadly, his tries fall through as they proceed to ignore his affection instead of reciprocating it for the sake of being petty, “Everyone, this is my boyfriend Corpse.“

“Hello, I am hand.“ Corpse says, slowly waving his hand at the camera, “I shall be your entertainment tonight.“

“Oh this is no entertainment, I have a point to prove here.“ Y/N argues, breaking free from his arms before they bend down to pick up one of the two boxes that are resting by their feet. “You see, Corpse and I got in a bit of a scrap last night...“ they trail off, distracted by the contents of the box that’s now resting on their lap.

“I didn’t think me admitting to not liking sweet stuff would provoke such a dramatic reaction from Y/N but here we are.“ He interferes, lifting a finger in the air as though that will help him be heard better or would protect him in case his partner decided to go off at him.

Y/N just ignores his input yet again, continuing to address the camera, aka their audience, “So as you guys may or may not know, my mom’s Korean and my dad’s Japanese. Since they live in their respective countries for work purposes, that means I’m always one phone call - and a little bit of a wait - away from Korean and Japanese snacks at all times. I’m a person who constantly has a snack by their side so you can bet I make that phone call often. However, about a week ago, I made that call specifically for candy, the brands I was obsessed with as a kid. I don’t know what came over me but I think it was my fortuneteller sense kicking in because this mister over here decided to CASUALLY bring up the fact that he doesn’t like candy.” They turn to glare at him before continuing, “Anyways, so luckily, the package arrived only recently so I haven’t had the time to tear open all the candy and eat it all by myself as I was planning to. That being said, today I’ll be in introducing Corpse to the world of Japanese and Korean candy - a tighter circle of it, to be specific: the candy I grew up with.” They finally turn to Corpse again, the look on their face significantly different and a lot more pleasant compared to the one they gave him a bit ago. “So, how are you feeling, babe? Are you excited?”

Although the man’s face is blocked to the viewers, Y/N can still see him and they are pretty damn close to bursting out in a fit of laughter.  “I don’t know how to feel, actually. I know you have peculiar taste so it’s either gonna be a fun experience or I’m gonna very displeased with what you’ll have me try.“

Y/N rolls their eyes, “Trust me, you won’t be.” They put a reassuring hand on his shoulder, only half humoring his nervousness, “You’ll only be trying six on camera, but my parents sent a ton more which you’ll be able to try later, ok? It was really hard for me to pick only six favorites by I don’t need this video crossing the twenty minute mark.”

With a heavy-hearted sigh, Corpse finally brings himself to rip the band-aid off and get this adventure started. “Ok cool, but don’t surprise me with anything, please. Show me what you had in mind to have me try so I can, you know, prepare myself.”

Y/N, who was busy taking out packets of candy just a moment ago suddenly stops in their movements to give him a look of disbelief, “You know none of these are poisonous, right? Like, I’m not trying to kill you or anything. There’s no cyanide, no rat poison...”

His laughter cuts them off, wrapping his arm around them and pulling them closer again, “I’m messing with you, babe. What you got for me?” He says, placing a quick kiss to their temple while sneaking a peek at the packaging of the candies they’re holding right now.

Wiggling a little looser in his grip, they first show him the three items before turning them to the camera, “These are from my mom, she sent them from Korea and they are triggering a massive wave of nostalgia right now, not gonna lie.” They giggle, adjusting the brightness a little so the products can be seen properly, “Ok so first we have the long biscuit sticks that come in many flavors but I asked for my favorite - green tea flavored, that is. Then we have Pumpkin Monaca which are probably one of my most favorite sweet treats of all time. I think you’re gonna really like them. And lastly from Korea we have these butter waffles which I used to eat for breakfast when I was running late for school - which happened often.”

Corpse snorts, “That doesn’t surprise me.”

His remark is overlooked as Y/N continues, now taking out three packets from the other package, “Now we’re moving on to my dad’s box. He didn’t disappoint either: we have soda-flavored jelly beans; Black Thunder chocolate bars which you’re only gonna steal one of because the rest are MINE; and last but definitely not least we have some classic milk candies.” Setting those down as well, they turn to Corpse yet again, this time giving his a mischievous smile that’s promising him trouble, “So, Mr. Corpse Husband, after this introduction, are you prepared to have your entire opinion o sweet food changed? And more importantly, are you prepared to develop an addiction to these treats?”

Corpse nods confidently, “Oh, I’m very prepared, thank you. Let’s just get on with it.”

Needless to say: boy, was he not as prepared as he thought he was.

Something i feel like needs to be said in this fandom is that adults in the creepypasta fandom need to be more aware of how they use their blogs and interact with others, especially minors. This isn't a callout for anyone, but perhaps a callout for a critical lack of awareness, or maybe im just paranoid.

This fandom has always been a sort of haven for people who have mental illness or have been ostracized, kids that are weird and feel misunderstood, kids with trauma and things they want to leave behind. Most horror fandoms are, but most horror fandoms are also very very good at maintaining the line between fiction and reality. Creepypasta isn't; all of these stories, whether they're classics like jeff the killer or the russian sleep experiment, they all feel designed to be read with a blurring of that line. Campfire horror stories that you tell kids in your class to spook them, things you read online that could be real to get a chill down your spine. In a fandom full of minors, people that have a hard time coping with dereality, people with dissociative disorders, this is very bad. Its already happened before with the slender stabbing incident. People can, and already do, mix up these fictional stories, and think these characters are real. People, kids especially, have already acted on it, do believe it, do fear it. Its not healthy, and especially with the rise of the shifting thing on tiktok, it fucking worries me. Im literally waiting for something else to happen like that previous incident. Im already seeing people talk about how they have met these characters, interacted with these killers. They are not real. You cannot interact with them.

I desperately want to see more adults in this fandom look out for their followers and keep them safe, especially the minors. We can talk however much we want about how minors shoulder even be in this fandom, could write a whole essay on how minors act in fandoms nowadays but i won't, but there's literally no point. Kids will be kids and they will get into whatever space they want, and whether you want to or not as an adult you have to be aware of that and be responsible. Sometimes that responsibility is slapping an 18+ label on your blog and blocking people that don't comply. Sometimes that responsibility is being open for all ages and tagging more concerning or nsfw material properly. For the most part, we are all pretty good at that, but sometimes, that responsibility is also calling out concerning behavior and trends. We need to make it blatantly clear that fiction and reality don't mix here, that fiction unfortunately can and will affect reality and vice versa, and protect the kids when we can from slippery slopes that can hurt them and others.

So kids, please understand that I'm not trying to rain on your parade. Tbh i dont even know what this whole shifting thing is, maybe I'm just old and paranoid, but it sends off so many warning bells to see people talk so casually about how they met jeff the killer. Jeff the killer isn't fucking real, none of these characters are real. Understand that actions have consequences, especially in a fandom where a shocking amount of people do have dissociative disorders and problems coping with dereality. I'm trying to be better with it too, keep an eye out for each other and other creators in other fandoms too. We don't need another incident.

So, tldr; keep the line between fiction and reality very distinct, and maintain that shit, cuz this fandom has already had problems with that.

A/N: Hey loves. Please forgive my sorry ass for not uploading anything since the summer, I am very tired and things are not going as well as I wish it was right now. I would post a rant post or anything but I know you guys wouldn’t wanna read that and that’s why I try to keep my blog only as a writer one instead of making random posts that no one wants to read. 

I just wanna say that the old show “My Babysitter’s A Vampire” was one of the greates shows out there on Disney, probably one of the last. I loved it a lot growing up and the cancelation of the show still pisses me off. I always loved Benny, he was my favorite character and to practice my writing since I dont even post anymore lol, I decided to go along with this. You’ll get something better one day but I will probably keep writing for MBAV (even tho the fandom is probably dead sdkjfnskjd)

You and Benny were a known dynamic duo. The two of you were often never seen apart. Being best friends, along with Ethan, since grade school and becoming a couple only a few months ago, life seemed great! You and Benny had never been closer and even with all the supernatural afflictions in Whitechapel, your relationship with him was almost perfect.

Until you started to notice Benny’s wandering eyes.

Even before you two dated, you loved each other. You loved and cared about Benny more than you ever though you could about someone. He was your best friend, how could you not care about him? But you always noticed you weren’t the only girl who caught his eye.

Sure you weren’t the most beautiful, gorgeous girl in the town. You considered yourself average and you were one smart cookie, clever and geeky. But just not like the other girls that Benny seemed to glance at.

It started out with the girl from the movie theater he kissed out of nowhere, the girl with the undead dog, then the cheer squad, and hell, even Erica got longing looks from him!

Benny wasn’t even the one to make the first move, you were the one who asked him out after hanging out at his house. You confessed to him, he told you he thought the same of you and later on, you two started to date. Ethan and Sarah were more than happy to support your relationship, it was bound to happen someday, they said. Your worries and insecurities slowly crept away and you were happy for a while.

A little more than three months into the relationship, you noticed out of the corner of your eye Benny’s looks and smirks towards other girls. He didn’t think you would notice, but of course you did. A lot of times while on a mission to stop a supernatural creature, if there was a hot girl involved, Benny would be flirting and staring.

Now, Benny wasn’t the worst boyfriend. If anything, he was great! You knew he loved you and he treated you like a queen. He wasn’t exactly...distant but as time went by, he stopped giving you the morning kisses and hugs you loved so dearly much and eventually stuck with a forehead kiss or a cheek kiss. And even those would be pretty rare during the day, not just the morning.

He would give you attention, but his focus would usually move right away to something else. You first just brushed it off as casual Benny, but not it was getting annoying.

You never stopped loving Benny, your love for him never lowered but didn’t exactly grow either. Sure, couples grow out of the ‘honeymoon phase’ and can grow apart but you didn’t want to believe you and him were growing apart, you wanted to grow with him in the relationship.

“But if he loved you as much as you loved him, he wouldn’t be flirting with so many girls while in a relationship.” Erica and Sarah had told you many times.

But you always brushed them off.

Benny wouldn’t hurt you, right?

Today was the last straw, for the past week, even when you were around, your so called boyfriend had made comments about other ‘hot babes’ in the school and you were not having it this time. Ethan, Sarah and Erica noticed your off mood today, but didn’t question it. They all knew what it was about, you told them about this weeks ago.

Everyday after school was over, Benny would walk with you on both of your ways home. You would walk back to your house and cuddle with him until he was forced to go home. Now, he barely stays for 15 minutes before going home. You really wished he stayed longer.

After school today was the same, you and the group would talk and discuss somethings for a while and then leave, Benny usually following behind you.

You waited in front of the school with everyone (including Rory) except for Benny. He mentioned something about needing to find a ripped page from his spell book. While you all waited for him, Sarah finally spoke up.

“So (Y/n), are you finally going to talk to him today about...you know?” She questioned. Everyone’s eyes turned to you as you nodded your head.

“Yeah...when he walks me home, I’m planning on just talking things out with him. It’s not what I had in plan before but maybe it’ll work!” You lightly smiled at you friends.

“I’m really sorry he’s been treating you like this. Of course it’s Benny and all but this is low even for him.” Ethan butted in.

You gave him a thankful smile and couldn’t help but silently agree. Erica gave you a comforting pat on the back and smiled at you. You weren’t the best of friends, but you still cared for one another.

“I’ll bite his head off if he continues to do it.” Erica ‘joked’ as she showed her fangs while winking at you. Sarah smacked her other hand and yelled in protest, causing Erica to whine.

“Oh please, as if you wouldn’t do it either-“

“Do what either?” Erica was interruped by a familiar voice, causing all of you to turn your bodies toward the man himself, Benny.

“Erica was just saying that she’ll bite your head off if you-mph!” Rory’s words were cut off but Sarah and Ethan covering his mouth.

The lot of you smiled awkwardly as a silence brushed you over you all. You just looked down at the ground, pretending as if you just saw something interesting.

“Right...well guys and gals! Guess who has two thumbs, a spell book and a soon to be newly mastered spell by yours truely?” Said Benny, carrying the first letter of the first word while pointing his thumbs toward himself.

“...who?” Ethan asked, although he already knew the answer. He and Sarah already uncovered Rory’s blabbering mouth by now.

“Your favorite spell master, me! Remember that I mentioned that ripped page from the book,” everyone nodded. “Well I just found a new spell that could be the best thing since Star Wars. A changing appearance spell! Think about it! I could change into any hot guy I want and all the hot babes would be after me!” Your head snapped up at the words coming out of his mouth.

Is he freaking serious? Right in front of his OWN GIRLFRIEND RIGHT NOW?

Everyone else, besides Benny, in the group stayed quiet for a moment, looking away awkwardly as they noticed your face change from a sad expression to an angry one.

“What? Look, I won’t actually do the spell but c’mon, you get to be whatever you want-“

“BENNY!”

Benny turned his finally turned his attention towards you, you hadn’t realized that he wasn’t even paying attention to you this whole time.

“Can I speak to you, alone. Right now.” You asked him, gesturing for him to go to the other side of the courtyard.

He nodded and headed over there with you. Benny glanced back towards his friends, but they all seemed to be slightly glaring at him or shaking their heads.

Finally, when you both were alone with no one around you two, you turned to him and spoke up.

“Are you kidding me, Benny?” The brunette looked at you with a confused face.

“Am I kidding about what?” He answered. You couldn’t help but roll you eyes at him, was he really this clueless or did he just not care at all?

“You! You, Benny and the spell! Actually, not just the spell! Are you even still aware that you are in a relationship?!” You spat at him.

Benny just scoffed.

“Babe, of course I do! That whole spell thing was just something I found and was trying to tell you guys about. It’s not a big deal!” The boy defended.

“Not a big deal? Well maybe not you to, but to your girlfriend it does! Your girlfriend of three months and yet here you are, talking about these hot babes and spells you could use to get them! I am your girlfriend, Benny! You seem to be forgetting that.” Benny started to grow annoyed with you and waved you off.

“If you wanna fight about your stupid jealousy, then I don’t wanna hear about it. I still care about you but there’s nothing wrong with-“

“EVERYTHING IS WRONG WITH THAT BENNY!”

Benny flinched in shock after you screamed out your words. You were always the quiet and shy person of the group, a badass but yet still quiet. You honestly couldn’t care less at this point if someone heard you guys, you needed to get your boyfriend’s head straight.

You didn’t even realize the growing tears in your eyes until one fell from them. Benny’s face formed into a guilty and sad expression.

“Benny...as your girlfriend and best friend, I have my own things and you have yours. We both have our own lives and I’m not going to control yours. But when you talk about other girls like that, like they’re a piece of meat and I’m just off to the sidelines like nothing then you can’t expect me to not be upset about it. I love you, Benny Weir. But clearly, you don’t love me enough to focus your attention on the one you’re supposed to love.” You finished, tears rolling down your face.

“Okay, okay, I get it. I’ll stop with the comments, I’ll stop looking at girls and I’ll show you that I do love you! I love you so much, (Y/n)! I-I can’t lose you!” Benny practically begged, holding your cheeks as the waterfall of tears continued.

“Please don’t cry...please don’t cry.” He said, trying to wipe your tears away, not even noticing the tears running down his face either. You pushed his hands off of you and backed away from him.

“P-people need time to change, Bens. You can’t change in just a few minutes. I-I...” You contemplated your next words until they finally came out. “I think we should break up. Or just...t-take a little break.”

Those words nearly tore Benny Weir’s heart in half. He loved you, he had loved you so much but didn’t show it. Benny had made the worst mistake in this life and he felt so guilty, more worse than when he messed up on his spells. And now he was paying the price for it.

“No...n-no no, please no. Anything but that, please, (Y/n)! J-just one last chance!” Benny begged.

He didn’t want to lose the best thing in his life, he wanted to stay with you. He wanted to love and cherish you for the rest of his life.

But he ruined that.

“I’m sorry, Benny...but both of us clearly need more time to change.” And with that, you left him behind, tears still falling buy slowing stopping while Benny’s only grew.

He had lost the love of his life. His best friend his childhood. His partner in crime.

Benny sulkily walked back to his friends, seeing that Erica and Rory had left, leaving only Ethan and Sarah behind.

He wiped his tears and tried to smile but his bloodshot eyes gave him away. Ethan and Sarah knew right away what had happened. Ethan walked up to him and rested a hand on his shoulder.

“Benny...I’m sorry.”

Benny didn’t say anything though, he was still trying to process what had just happened completely. Finally, he fell to his knees and sobbed while Sarah and Ethan watched pitifully.

She was right...he needed the time to change.

omg I cannot believe the anon hate you got. I follow your blog for years, you have excellent and on point analysis, overall you are one of the pillars of bellarke fandom and many of us appreciate you! anyways, just a small note, absolutelly not important - Gabriel said he had a crush on Becca right. the show seems to put Raven somehow on the similar level to Becca. Maybe that could be the sign of new romance couple? or I am just matchmaking again, why I do that I dont know :)

You are not the only one who has thought about that connection that Raven and Becca are paralleled and Gabriel had a crush on Becca. Also, it has been mentioned that that mindview of Becca had her much younger, with more casual hair so that she looks even MORE like Raven. 

I’ll be honest I’ve been looking for someone to ship Gabriel with. He needs someone FAR better than that sociopath Josephine. I’ve thought Diyoza, Octavia and now yeah I could see Raven. Especially now that I’ve started shipping Diyoza and Octavia a bit. And maybe even Echo and Hope a bit though I’d need to see how they are in canon for five years on sky ring to do so. Raven and Gabriel are both STEM folk, different aspects of the sciences, both adventurers, both ravenclaw/griffindors, both rebellious and trouble makers, but with a deep sense of morality, both against the primes. It could work is what I’m saying. And he’s nothing like any of the yahoos she was with before. (sorry, Shaw wasn’t a yahoo.)

As for the anon hate... i think it’s so weird. i’ve talked to a few people about it, just wondering, because it seems like no one else is getting this level of hate, and most of it is coming SIMPLY from shipping Bellarke at this point, and not shipping things that would block Bellarke. Like I used to get called all sorts of names branding me whatever is evil in the world, but they’ve run out of those, because, well, they weren’t happening in the first place but it was an excuse, and I’m neither being racist nor lesbophobic (and never was, it was just shipping and stanning.) Now they say i’m a clown or want to whore myself to jr. 

I would just like to say that if I were a clown, that is a valid life choice. Rock on Bozo. You clown your way to happiness. And if I did want to whore myself to jr, whether for real or fantasy, that is none of anybody’s business and has no relation to moral superiority.

Oh just about any scenario if the opportunity and the timing is right. Light crack to humor in some places; though most of my writing with ships gravitate to casual, slowburn and a n g s t. Again the right timing and even the character’s personality matters when it comes to streamy and nsfw moments. 

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?

So long as their consenting adults both physically and mentally Im okay with it. 21xwhatever! Let older people find love ya’ll. It changes if the character is under 18 in which I’ll only ship them with someone their own age or one/two years younger. It’s all chemistry based beyond that.

 I’m more concerned about their relationships and boundaries with one another? Like I’d most likely never ship a student and teacher no matter their age ranges nor would I try adult x someone they knew as a child at some point in their lifetime. All based on complexities and comfort!

Depends on the character? The more open-minded characters connect to people easier then say Aced here, who is hard to connect to at all. Some ships have come in literally two or three threads while some take time to develop. 

Best case scenario is to give me a headsup or even a hint that you’re interested so I can tell you what the chances are! Im open to it! A little plotting goes a long way especially for the ships and muns I still keep in contact with today vuv! Especially to ships I have a soft spot for!

HHHh, clothes come off or if things get graphic and descriptive. Im actually comfortable with writing smut especially with ships that my characters are really connected with! Smut for me has never been about erotica as it does to how intimate both characters are with one another even with my more flamboyant and open muses and that’s ADORABLE AND SWEET...AND SO LOVING......

Tho ofc’ both me and my partner have to consent to it ‘cause I know even if Im horny on main I understand not everyone is comfortable writing it. (EDIT: wrote this response up several months ago - prior to the october shooting. never posted ‘cause i felt it was too harrowing and deep for a fandom blog, but you know what? anon asked a question; anon deserves an answer.)

oh hun….. that’s a big ol discussion right there. people have always hated other people. why hatred seems to be as natural to humans as breathing is beyond most decent human beings, myself included. the “why” aside, i think, ultimately, people have always hated those different from them. jews have always been easy scapegoats. we’re an easy target, an easy place to direct hatred, and since we’ve always been rather universally hated, no one really defends us, so it’s easy to attack us without consequence.

additionally, jews have been around long enough, and we’ve been widespread enough, that we’ve been hated for a very, very long time by many societies. we’ve seen the rise and fall of dozens of civilizations, and we’ve survived, but not without causalities. literally every single empire has viewed jews as inferior. we were enslaved in half of them, despised in all of them. murdered en masse far too frequently.

originally, it was because judaism was a monotheistic religion at times when polytheistic religions were the norm. that’s why the egyptians kept us as slaves and ancient greece and romans viewed early jews as subhuman and lead attacks on jewish communities. our views differed from the norm, though we’d held our beliefs longer than they’d had theirs. 

as christianity rose, and the whole jesus thing happened, we were hated for 1) “killing jesus” even though the romans were the executioners, jews were merely the judges and you’d doubt someone who claimed they were g-d’s son, too 2) not converting to christianity as more & more people did, 3) simply being different.

and after that - well, if i listed all the times jews have been persecuted and massacred throughout the last two thousand years, this would be an incredibly long response, and i’d get p fucking depressed. 

i can honestly say every single one of my ancestors suffered at the hands of antisemitism. and not casual microaggressions - antisemitism has always linked to death. we get murdered all the time, just for our jewishness. sometimes it’s in bigger numbers, but those who hate jews want us dead. they do. and that’s why it’s such a relevant problem, and that’s why i get mad at jew jokes. where there’s a joke about our noses, there’s a joke about ovens, and it’s fucking demonic to joke about the murder of that many human beings. 6 million of us were killed, out of 15 million in total. we only recently caught up to where the population was at prior to the shoah. 

every single ashkenazi jew was affected by the holocaust. we all lost relatives, sometimes entire families. i’m almost entirely german & austrian (and partly polish), and i have very few relatives left in europe. most were killed or came here for refuge and built their lives here. it’s a damn miracle my great grandparents survived the camp they were in, or else i wouldn’t be here. goyim will never know the pain of an incomplete family tree, with dozens of lives missing because they weren’t deemed human enough to be given death certificates. so many of them say “[birth date] to 1942-1944″. because we don’t know. we don’t know when they died, how, where their bodies are. they weren’t treated like humans. we’re not treated like humans, to this day.

even outside of the holocaust itself, and outside nazism; my other family is russian, and they were forced out of their homes (the ending of fiddler of the roof? is based on reality, and happened to my paternal grandfather’s family. they lived in shtetlekh and many died in the pogroms, and eventually were forced to immigrate to america). russians hated jews, too, and murdered us simply because they could. 

and it persists. wherever the stereotypes and conspiracies about us come from, they’re persistently spread. in the decades following the holocaust, antisemitism wasn’t tolerated. anti-jewish hate groups and individuals got the shit beat out of them. but in the last few years, antisemitism has had a sharp incline. after the charlottesville incident, i couldn’t go to shul for weeks out of fear. antisemitism is a scary, unfortunate, inexplicable thing - like all violent bigotry, and even passive or casual bigotry. people don’t comprehend the scale. but it’s terrifying, and real. and you get used to it. it’s fucked up, but you adapt, ‘cause you have to. even if u dont understand why.

Ah...surprisingly I didn’t start shipping these two until a few months ago. I’ve been following the manga since the day it came out and I’ve always liked them but I never actively “shipped” them or anything. Even though I went all “YeSSSSS” when they started dating in chapter 16, I was still just more of a casual fan.

There are a few reasons I can think of to why I was drawn into shipping them (finally...) was that I somewhat got back into yuri over the summer after watching a clip from Fate Kaleid.......*cough* anyway...and started going back on dynasty-scans to see what kinds of new yuris have been made huehuehue. Long story short I shortly got back into MadoHomu and Yuzu x Mei, and saw the latter ship as the “less angsty” version and went on from there 

The other reason I got super into them was that the latest few chapters, and remembering chapter 24, was that I really started to notice how Mei became less cold and closed-off from Yuzu. And seeing her blush and be all nervous around her was just..... <3 <3 <3~~~~~~

Oh and this one comic by smxmuffinpeddling made me laugh (and still makes me laugh) so it spiraled from there. They are a blessing to Citrus. 

• My thoughts:

I tend to gravitate towards ships that have that dark/light dynamic. I’m cliche and I have a weakness for ships that have the aloof dark haired girl who’s usually looked up to or very popular fall in love with the ditzy, but kind and optimistic light haired girl and vice versa (see: Chikane/Himeko, MadoHomu, Diakko {to an extent}) Not exactly opposites attract, but I found their interactions funny when they initially hated each other and whenever I read the manga in retrospect in my head I’m all, “honey you two have no idea” 

i like ships where i can see a little of myself in both characters 

• What makes me happy about them:

I understand that the pseudo-incest thing can turn some people off from the pairing but in this story I feel like it’s justified enough that pretty much the whole fandom is cool with it. Yuzu and Mei didn’t grow up together nor are they blood related, but taking the “they’re not related by blood” justification out of the way while the kiss that Mei stole from Yuzu is what led to Yuzu developing feelings for her step-sister, Yuzu already started showing some sort of attraction in chapter 1 when Mei hugged her to just to get her cellphone. So, kiss or no kiss, Yuzu probably would’ve developed a crush on Mei regardless. As for Mei, the step-sister thing forced the seemingly-opposite girls to interact and it’s what led to Yuzu finding out all these things about Mei and help her with her issues. So, I think the fact that Yuzu would go great lengths for her is what would lead her to falling for her.

I really like how Yuzu doesn’t give up on Mei despite Mei always having to push her step-sister away. As much as I love Yuzu and do relate with her on a spiritual level, I do relate with Mei a lot (despite some friends saying I’m more like Yuzu lol). Anyone else who would try to get close with Mei would either get tired of her for being so closed-off and eventually just give up on her. I like the fact that Yuzu does see a lot of the good in Mei that she can’t see in herself. The whole dynamic of the closed-off, pessimistic, sometimes brooding person with the open, optimistic, never-gives-up person is a common dynamic I’ve seen everywhere and I happen to be one of those people that really do like it (at least if done right to an extent or I relate on a certain level) and also reminds me of sasuke and naruto despite never shipping that *cough* but anyway...

Plus, I remember smxmuffinpeddling mentioning this in the tags of one of their fics, but I really do like how both of them put in a lot of work to make their relationship work. Yeah, sure it seemed like Yuzu was doing all the work in the beginning, but as soon as Mei began to open up and trust Yuzu more, she does try to put in genuine effort in maintaining their relationship (using Yuzu’s notebook as a perfect date template, when she talked with Yuzu in chapter 24 that their relationship has nothing to do with other people’s opinions, asked Harumi for advice on how to start a conversation with Yuzu in the vol. 7 extra, being open to Yuzu’s offer of the one kiss a day thing, and i wish to see many more things~)

• What makes me sad about them:

*Sigh* as much I love these two, I just want them to interact more with words. Like have more casual conversations. It could be the mundane things or about any problems or issues they could be having. I live for healthy communication, and I feel like Yuzu and Mei are still working up to that.

• Things done in art/fic that annoys me:

So...finding actual fan content of these two, let alone for Citrus in general is like treading through the Sahara fucking Desert 

I haven’t really found anything concrete in art/fic that annoy me...yet but the most I’ll say is making both of them unreasonably OOC. This fandom is pretty small despite citrus apparently being a super popular yuri manga (I really didn’t know that until recently) so OOCness isn’t too much of a problem. I used to be heavily into the Frozen fandom so of course when you have a larger fandom you’re going to have a crap ton of fan interpretations and lots of AUs that either don’t fit or drive the characters being written about to be OOC.

• Things I look for in art/fic:

Lots of fluff cause we don’t get enough of it in the manga TT_TT 

If it’s just them talking or having a date or something mundane that allows them to get to know each other more then sign me the fuck up. I like seeing fics that go into Mei’s perspective and I’m also a huge fan of content that really showcases the support they have for one another because feels~

that’s all i can think of for now, but despite low numbers of content most of the stuff ive come across so far is pretty good 

• Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: 

For Yuzu, I wanna say Harumin only because they’re best friends and she’s always got Yuzu’s back and stuff and I know some people in the fandom already highkey ship them...however (yeah I’m gonna be one of those people ^^;), in the story I feel like it would be a bit cheap having Harumi secretly have feelings/fall for her best friend because while I was used to the yuri cliches when I first read the manga, I personally feel like the story is already far in Yuzu and Mei’s relationship that adding more unnecessary third party drama would kinda be tiresome to me. That’s not saying I’m not open to it. If Saburouta does something new or different with the whole “best friend is in love with main protagonist” cliche that I’ve seen in other yuri like Strawberry Panic, then I wouldn’t mind reading it. 

For Mei...this is gonna sound like a weird answer, but I’d probably go with Matsuri. Part of the reason just being that they do kinda share some similarities together (being alone most of their life, sometimes clinging to the one person they feel like they can trust a.k.a Yuzu), but I’m also bad at explaining shit so I’ll probably just leave it at that :P 

• My happily ever after for them:

THEY HAVE A KID (i think i came up with a concept for them having a son in my head but i never drew it...yet) 

and they live in a cozy apartment together. Mei being self-conscious about her parenting skills and Yuzu always reassuring her that she’ll be fine and she’ll support her in everything she’s having trouble with if Mei has no fucking clue how to show love and affection to a child, let alone her own. The girl already took awhile trying open up and show her love to Yuzu, so this would be a challenge lol 

Yuzu trying to reassure their kid that while his mother is pretty stubborn and has a hard time expressing her feelings, she loves them both very much <3~

• What is their favorite non-sexual activity?: 

TALKING/COMMUNICATION (wait that’s my favourite lol) 

I’m assuming that once they’re deep in their relationship, just sitting down and talking about the mundane things whether it’s about their day or ranting about whatever, would be something they would find relaxing. In the end, they’re still learning more about each other (and I fucking love that) 

oh and trying new things with each other. Yuzu would be the one dragging Mei to try out something they’ve never done before (I can’t think of any right now), Mei would probably be super competitive when it comes to getting the skill down in whatever they’re doing but of course Yuzu would tell her she doesn’t need to get so worked up and should just let loose and have fun

Im starting to take this "not getting notes on my art" thing really personally and i know it sounds childish (and i laugh at myself for it) but i cant help but get upset when i spend so much time and effort and get like no feedback. And i know people say not to draw what u love and not for attention but honestly i dont even know what

and i dont even know if im drawing what ilike sometimes. Yeah i love bts but i dont know if i like what im drawing or ifim just doing it for notes???? And i have a lot of anxiety too and thats wherei feel like im taking this too personally. Cuz im starting to think that my artdoesnt get notes cuz its straight up not good which leads me to think ishouldnt even try to pursue a career in art anymore. But im not good atanything else so wtf am i gonna do if i dont succeed in art???? Like i said i laugh at myself for thinking like this and iprobably sound like a fuckin child but i cant help it???? Aw dude don’t worry I get what you mean,I actually experienced something similar when I first started posting my art totumblr, and even recently when I first started posting bts fanart. It’sperfectly normal to want recognition (in this case in the form of notes) forsomething you worked so hard on!! I think one of the major issues with postingto such a big fandom such as bts though is that there’s so many peopleproducing content at any given time, that it’s incredibly easy to get drownedout. Especially since tumblr changed how search and track tagging worked, itmade it that much harder for people to get noticed for their content.

When I first switched to drawing for bts,I found it hard because I also focused a lot on my note count. For someone whowas originally well established in a previous fandom, the move to bts was quitea jarring experience. I had built my following on tf2 art, and used toconsistently get a couple hundred notes, but one of main reasons why I left wasbecause of the dwindling of note counts. When I first left, overwatch had justcome out and a lot of attention shifted towards that game away from tf2, andalthough I still love the game, the dramatic decrease in notes on my art fortf2 really made me sad and I ended up deciding to leave the fandom after 3years of drawing tf2 art. I hopped around a bit, before eventually getting intobts. Even then, my first few pieces (they’re not on my #bts fanart tag so mostpeople wouldn’t have ever seen them) either got no notes at all or only two orthree. It was easier for me to establish myself in a fandom such as tf2 back inthe day since it was such a small, tight knit community with limited contentcreators, but now with bts there are so many more people and it just seemedhopeless for a while and I lost motivation in my art. I stopped wanting todraw, since it felt like nobody cared. Art is the biggest hobby I have, solosing my confidence in my art was crushing.

Now you might be wondering how I got towhere I am today. I’ll be completely honest with you. For me, I highly doubt Iwould be anywhere near where I am if it weren’t for networks. I had neverjoined a network before, but decided to join armiesnet and jimin network one daywhen I saw that applications were open. I got accepted, and I joined theirrespective group chats too. I met lots of great people on those chats, and madea lot of new friends which was nice after having moved fandoms and lost touchwith many previous mutuals. I’m so glad I joined networks, because not only doyou have the chance to make mutuals who will support you and your art, thenetwork blog itself also reblogs all its members’ content which gives youexposure to members of the network through both the network tag and through thedashboard. It’s a perfect way to get started, rather than hoping that somebodywith a decent following will happen to stumble across your work in the tags oneday and reblog it.

That being said, unless you’re like somesort of godly human being I don’t think we can ever get over how note countsfeel as an artist. We need something to gauge people’s response to our art, andthat tends to default to note counts. I can assure you that the feeling of disappointmentwhen your post doesn’t get as many notes as you want/expected it to is a thingpretty much all artists on this site shares. People always say “you should drawfor yourself, not for other people” but that’s the equivalent of like say themona lisa being painted and then left to rot in Da Vinci’s closet or something.The whole point of art is sharing your ideas/love for something through yourdrawings with other people, and so it’s perfectly normal to want therecognition you deserve for working so hard and putting so much love into yourcraft. When it feels like you’re all alone, you have to remember not to giveup. Creating art in such a big fandom can be unforgiving, but just rememberthat your art is never the one at fault. It’s all about finding that littlegolden window of exposure, whether it be through one big blog or a couplesmaller blogs reblogging your work. Those kind few people will be what helpsyou grow, and you have to keep posting for that to happen. If you water a plantbut it doesn’t bloom the next day, abandoning it will get you nowhere. If youjust keep going, keep watering it, results will come. Keep reminding yourselfthat you’re doing well, and you can compare older art to your current art tosee the progress and keep you motivated. Don’t force yourself to draw if youaren’t feeling it – art is something that should make you happy. I used to drawbecause I felt the pressure to put out content, but that just resulted in mefalling into a negative spiral of art block, limited motivation and generalunhappiness with my art as a result. Remember that there’s no such thing as adeadline when it comes to posting art on tumblr – work at whatever pace suitsyou and if anybody tries to rush you, shut them down. You’re the artist, youget to choose what you do with your art, how you do it, and how long you spendon it.

If you truly have your sights set onbecoming an artist full time, then by all means go for it! I can’t give muchadvice in that area since I only plan on keeping art as a hobby, but justremember that art school is always optional. In the end, working as an artistis all about the portfolio, not where you graduated from. It’s more importantto work on your art than it is to get in to an amazing art school. Sure, artschools can be useful, but in the end they are simply tools, sort of like atutorial rather than something that will magically turn you into an amazing artistwith amazing job offers. At the end of the day, it’s all up to yourself to workhard and promote yourself. Since art is all about reaching different audienceswith your work, promoting yourself is essential, even if it’s just casualfanart on tumblr. Feedback can’t come without exposure, and exposure can’t comewithout self-promotion.

Lastly, remind yourself that there’s nosuch thing as ‘bad art’. That might sound like a stupid statement, but inreality art is a constantly changing thing. There is no pinnacle of perfection,no model artwork that represents the most perfect drawing out there. Everyonehas different styles, everyone has different approaches, and most importantly,everyone is still improving. I’m still learning and trying to improve my ownart, and there’s no shame in that. It’s easy to perceive someone else’s art asbetter than yours which would lead to some self-critical thoughts, but you haveto remember that the other artist is probably looking at their own art andpicking it apart, thinking “aw man there are so many mistakes here.” It’s fineto make mistakes, after all, that’s how we learn. Just because we see mistakesin our own art doesn’t mean that everyone else will too – nobody looks at artand their first thought is to list all of the mistakes present. As long as youare aware of what you are less confident in and actively work to improve it,you can quickly surpass even the people you look up to.

So yeah, sorry that this is hella longlol, but in all honestly I can understand what you’re going through. It’seasier said than done, but even though it might feel hard - don’t give up. Youmight feel like you’re not getting anywhere at the moment but I assure you thatif you just keep going, things will only get better. That’s the thing abouttumblr, if you keep posting art your audience can only grow. For now, I would definitelyrecommend joining some networks, and making some friends. It’s not uncommon forpeople to promo their own work in the network chat occasionally, as long as youdon’t spam haha

I’ve buried my head under my arms, resting it on my desk as my ears are still violated by the hollering coming from my headset. I don’t know what in me snapped out of nowhere or what caused the slip-up, but what matters is that it happened and now I’m in some hot water. I’m practically the soup everyone in this Discord call at the moment will be eating for dinner tonight, getting a real kick at my expense - some even having the audacity to be mad at me over it - ahem, Rae, ahem - but bottom line: I won’t live this down easily.

“Hey everyone! What did I miss?“ Sykkuno, who was running late and missed this entire debacle makes an appearance. If it were any other occasion, I’d be overjoyed to hear he’s finally joining us, but his question of what he had missed renders me only able to cringe and wait for my friends’ next move.

“Sykkuno!“ Rae exclaims ecstatically, “Oh, strap in, imma tell you what you missed...“

“No, you won’t tell him, Rae.“ Toast cuts her off, sounding uncharacteristically serious, especially when taken into account how hard he was laughing just a moment ago, “This is Corpse’s tale to tell, don’t spare him the shame of telling it one more time.“

And just when I thought this fucker would prove himself to be a true friend...

“Oof, this sounds serious...“ Sykkuno says to fill the silence I purposely let linger just so I don’t give these bullies the satisfaction of hearing my embarrassment all over again even though they inevitably will.

“It is...“ I sigh with a heavy heart, hiding my face in the palm of my hand, “It’s really bad and embarrassing and...I’d rather not retell it at all let alone for a second time, but here it goes...“ I inhale as much air as I can as a method of gaining confidence before I start talking, “So you know MGK and I made a song. Yeah well, we’re gonna be making a music video for it and I asked Rae to be in it. Thing is, I wanted to ask Y/N first. Buckle up, this is where it starts going downhill: ok so I went over to their place so we could just chit chat an marathon a few movies like we usually do over the weekends but I also wanted to bring up the whole ‘hey, wanna be in my music video’ thing but didn’t know how. Mind you, we were drinking beers this whole time, might’ve had a few too many actually. Ok, we definitely had a few too many, but back on track: as I was blabbering and stumbling over my words, nervous as all hell and unable to string the simple question inside my head, all Y/N did was tilt their head and smile at me. You know, the odd thing is it was a genuine smile, not a drunken grin like you’d expect from someone on their fourth beer bottle. And then, out of the blue, they had the audacity to hit me with: ‘You’re so cute’ and I just sat there frozen for a few seconds. I mean, my reaction was on point - who wouldn’t react like that if their crush told them they found them cute. Anyway - I was like ‘what?’ and then, out of an even bluer blue, they freaking kissed me. I nearly had a heart attack damn it!“

“And he never asked them to be in the DAYWALKER music video!“ Rae clearly couldn’t hold it in any longer.

“I didn’t get the time! I was out of there in the blink of an eye!“ I bark, feeling my face heating up with embarrassment and regret. God, I should never ask how stupid I can get because I keep surprising myself in the end with just how far my stupidity goes. It’s fucking insane.

“Oh God, poor Y/N.“ Sykkuno sighs, sounding only a tiny bit as though he’s about to laugh. I appreciate his self-control honestly, the rest of these fuckers were dying laughing as though our friends and my crush kissing me and me responding like I had an allergic reaction was the best joke to ever be told.

“Poor Y/N?“ I snap a little, “What about me?“

“Yeah, poor Y/N!“ Rae backs Sykkuno up, “Poor Y/N and poor me for the missed opportunity to me in a music video for a song of one of my best friends with another one of my best friends. Corpse, you better fix this!!“

“How?!“ I’m aware I sound desperate but I seriously wanna fix it just have no idea how to go about it. I mean, if this looney group of nine people over here don’t come up with a plan no one will so not all hope for me is dead just yet. Even if we all had only one braincell we’d still be able to figure it out - I mean, ten braincells ain’t as bad as it sounds. Truth be told, Y/N’s the real brain of the group and they’d most definitely be able to help me - so fuck the irony.

“Call them.“ Sykkuno suggests so casually as though it’s a no-brainer. I’d go as far as to say his nonchalance almost made me laugh. Has he forgotten who he’s talking to? 

“No way.“ I turn that down real quick, unable to even imagine the course of that phone call without cringing.

“No, Sykkuno’s right, call them right here right now. Ask them to star in the music video and then swerve the conversation to that kiss.“ Charlie’s suddenly decided to join the torturing being preformed upon me over here.

“What will I even say? I have no idea what to tell them!“ I complain, aware that I sound like a tantrum-throwing toddler but it’s really not my fault.

“Corpse. Corpse dear, listen to me, follow each word I say really carefully, ok?“ Rae asks, her voice now pitched as though she’s addressing an actual child. Yeah, that’s her well-known way of mocking me. “How about you say the actual fucking words. You know: ‘Hey Y/N, MGK and I are making a music video for DAYWALKER, wanna be in it?’“

I sigh, clearly defeated.

I pull out my phone, muttering to the crowd I’m about to speak in front of to be quiet as I put the ringing call on speaker, sweating like a pig the whole time. The room has risen in temperature and this hoodie has thickened, providing more warmth that’s more suffocating than comforting when it’s a hundred degrees outside. Or when I’m about to talk to my crush after THAT incident.

“Hello?“ Y/N’s voice on the other side rips me from my thoughts’ grasp, reminding me I’m on a mission.

“Hey Y/N, what’s up?“ I reply a little too quickly. Not giving them the time to reply with anything, I continue: “Hey Y/N, MGK and I are making a music video for DAYWALKER, wanna be in it?“

DAMN IT WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SAY IT WORD FOR WORD?!?!

“Oh....“ They sound confused - and rightfully so - but then regain their composure finally, “I-I’d love to. Thanks for the opportunity, Corpse. I’m so happy you’ve made it so far. I’d be honored to be in the music video.“

Ok, that’s partial relief. Now - time for the second phase of this plan

“Uh....“ and there goes my whole vocabulary out the window, “You’re welcome.“

“Cool...cool...“ they mutter awkwardly, clearly looking for a way to end the call, “Um, by the way...this is strictly professional, right?“

No! No it’s not! Of course it isn’t! I’ve been head over heels for you for a year now, damn it!

“Of course, o-of course it is. No worries.“ I reply, once again, a little too quickly. Faster than I could’ve prevented it.

“Ok cool...well, text me the details....“ They once again trail off, hoping I’ll catch the hint.

And so I succumb.

“Will do.“ I sigh, “See ya.“

“See ya.“ They reply and hang up.

I’m left there staring at my phone screen with utter self-disappointment and frustration that’s so intense I cannot even express it in any way.

The whole lobby is at a loss of words too - all nine of them astonished by my stupidity. Fortunately though, Charlie is quick to pull himself together and speak up because God forbid Charlie ever falls speechless, then we’d be SERIOUSLY in danger.

“Corpse. You. Are. The. Biggest. Fucking. Idiot.“

I’ll try my best to give you some recommendations!

First of all - here is a complete list of all novels, audio books, radio plays and Big Finish audio dramas. I don’t know how familar you are with the whole concept and the differences of all the different audio plays and where/how to buy them, so here’s a link to another post, where I explain that, just in case :)

And by all means, I’ve only been in this fandom since December 2016, and am still catching up as well.

Audio books:

(I have listened to a majority, but not all, but here are my favourites)

In The Shadows - you’ll definitely want to listen to that. Joseph Lidster wrote it and it has a BRILLIANT storyline and the Janto in it is so pure and sweet. (it takes place in season 2, pre Meat, I think)

Ghost Train - Ianto and Rhys in action! (unlikely pair, but brilliant together), lots of casual Janto mentions and Rhys overhearing them when they go at it.

Sin Eaters - Ianto is really, really cute in this one and there are quite a few Janto moments in it as well (and read by Gareth David-Llloyd!!!)

[there is a collection with 10 audio books called “The Torchwood Tales” available on amazon and itunes, it contains all the audio books from above, I can totally recommend it, 26€ on itunes, around 40€ for the physical edition on amazon]

Radio Plays:

I can definitely recommend them all (there are only 7), but again, here’s my Janto selection:

The Lost Files: those are 3 seperate radio plays,post s2, pre CoE, the first one (The Devil and Miss Carew) isn’t really strong on the Janto front (don’t remember anything tbh), Part 2 (Submission) is a MUST HAVE. Ianto and Jack are very much a couple, and an old ex from Ianto notices and there are some confessions! Part 3 (House of the Dead) is also a must have, but it will tear you apart, make you hate everything, the world, Torchwood and me for recommending it to you. It’s the only one that takes place 6 months after CoE and Jack meets Ianto again - kinda. get lots of tissues ready and a fluffy Janto fix-it fanfic for afterwards.

The Dead Line - JUST BUY IT. YOU WILL THANK ME FOR IT. (ever wondered where the quote “You’re not just a blip in time, Ianto Jones, not for me.” came from? From this radio play.) (and it’s only 2-3€ on itunes)

Asylum - nice storyline, and Jack and Ianto on a motorbike, not really a must have like the lost files, but it’s still really good (it’s round 6€ on itunes I think, so depening on how much money you can spend, maybe dont get it now)

(The Lost Souls is also really good, Martha is in it, but if you’re out for Janto and don’t have much money, it’s also not a priority, but DEFINITELY get it at some point. The Golden Age is good as well, and has one strong hint to Janto, get it eventually, but not a priority)

Novels:

Now, I only own 5 of them, and I’ve only read Slow Decay and am in the middle of The Twilight Streets. The later is a BUY IT. NOW. you’ll thank me. Other than that, I’ve heard that ‘Consequences’ (and specifically ‘Virus’) is really good. I have a list of recommendations from other people somewhere, but for now, I’ll pass that question along to my followers.

Big Finish audio dramas:

(this is where shit gets real)(again, haven’t listened to them all [I own 7 from the main range and all special releases] but except for ‘The Office Of Never Was’ I have listened to all the ones with Ianto in them)

Broken - again by Joseph Lidster (he’s brilliant). It’s the back story how Jack and Ianto first got together and deals with the aftermath and the storylines of Cyberwoman, Small Worlds and Countrycide (and I think Greeks Bearing Gifts? I don’t remember if that was mentioned as well) Get some tissues ready for this one, too. IT’S REALLY GOOD. and if you only ever want to buy one single audio book, then this is the one you want.

Outbreak - it’s one of the special releases, it’s a three part story, so a bit more expensive (around 30€ I think?), but if you can spare the money - GET IT. it’s post s2 and a virus is spreading through Cardiff that makes you want to kill the person you love the most. Yeah. Part 2 will kill you, it’s soooo good! (love confessions!!!!!!!)

The Torchwood Archive - 2 hour special release, written by James Goss (along with Joseph Lidster, he’s my favourite TW author, you can safely buy anything he wrote and not regret it). There are one or two very sweet Janto scenes in it, Ianto isn’t in at a lot though. Jack and Ianto have a dog named Untitled. If you’re ONLY out for Janto scenes, then this probably shouldn’t take the highest priority for you. BUT - The storyline is awesome! It gives a lot of background to many things that were left unexplained (for example why and how Alex killed his Torchwood team Silvester 1999) and most of the cast is in it - including Andy, Suzie and Yvonne Hartman (I think only Owen isn’t in it)

if you buy it, just so you know: it will reference a few of the other storylines from the TW Big Finish audio dramas, because of the overall storyline of ‘The Committee’. If you want that background, definitely listen to “The Conspiracy” (with Jack), “Fall to Earth” (Ianto solo, I can only recommend that either way!, even has one tiny Janto mention) and “Uncanny Valley” (also Jack solo). Those are the ones you should know to fully understand the plot of The Torchwood Archive (and they are all soooo good! especially Fall To Earth, just not strong on the Janto side, and Uncanny Valley is not Janto-positive, I guess, depending on how you put it in the over all timeline (s1 or s2, it isn’t clear, as far as I know)

Not Janto related at all - Torchwood One: Before The Fall. It takes place pre Battle of Canary Wharff and has Ianto and Yvonne Hartman as main characters. It’s definitely good, when you want to know more about Ianto, but as I said, obviously no Janto. It’s another 3 part special release.

And: Aliens Among Us deserves a special mention. It’s season 5 of Torchwood and takes place a few years after Miracle Day. Part 1 is already out, part 2 will follow in October, part 3 in February 2018. Obv no Ianto, but he and what happened in CoE is mentioned multiple times and there is on scene with Jack and another character in ep3 that’s kinda about Ianto and will make you cry. But if you’re really new to it all, maybe wait a bit to buy it, since it’s also a bit pricey. (if you wanna know more about it, all you do is have to ask - I really, really LOVE IT)

Those are the recommendations that I can give you from the top of my head. Again, I’m passing the question about the novels along to my followers.
