Request Something!

Summary: To make Erica jealous, Benny asks if you’ll fake date him. You think it’s a terrible idea, but it soon turns into something more.

A/N: idk if the morgans have a porch swing but ive decided that they do. Tumblr ate the ask but the request was "request where Benny and the reader get fake married or start fake dating til it becomes real"

“No.”

“Please.”

“No.”

“Please!”

“Absolutely not.”

Benny pouted at you with extreme exaggeration. “Why not, Y/n? It’s a really good idea!”

“Us pretending to date so you can get Erica’s attention is not a good idea, Benny.” You scoffed, slamming your locker shut and making your way to class, your friend hot on your heels.

“Give me one good reason why not.”

You could give Benny Weir a thousand reasons why his idea wouldn’t work out. Erica, and the rest of your friends, for that matter, would probably see right through the charade. There’s a good chance Erica wouldn’t even care. Plus, pretending to be in a relationship might destroy your friendship with Benny.

But you didn’t have the energy to voice all of this, so you let out a long sigh instead. “It just wouldn’t.”

“That’s not good enough!” He argued. Benny grabbed your shoulder, gently stopping you from walking further from him. “Please, Y/n. Just two weeks, that’s all I need.”

Benny wouldn’t let up; you knew that. He’d pester you all day until you finally said yes. So you decided you might as well bite the bullet.

“Fine.” Benny started to celebrate, but you quickly raised a hand to silence him. “But we need ground rules, okay? We can be affectionate and whatever, but only in front of our friends. As soon as they’re gone, we’re back to normal. Kissing is a big no unless absolutely necessary. And when you’re ready to make a move on Erica, we have to break up.”

Benny nodded along, seemingly okay with your requests. “Got it. Absolutely.”

“Cool. So… I guess we’re dating now.”

“Heck yeah, we are.” Benny grinned, raising a brow suggestively. “Just try not to fall in love with me.”

“Jesus.” You shook your head, quickly walking away from a giggly Benny.

All your time fighting monsters couldn’t have prepared you for this. Sure, that sounds dramatic. But so is Benny.

“Why are you guys holding hands?” Ethan had asked you that afternoon through a mouthful of food. Benny had insisted on waiting until the whole group was at your regular table before making your grand entrance.

“Oh, no reason,” Benny replied nonchalantly, pulling you into his side and looping his arm around your shoulders, hands still interlocked. “I just happened to bag the hottest girl in Whitechapel. Isn’t that right, babe?” He finished the announcement off with a kiss on your cheek, doing his best to make a show out of it.

“Oh, shut up, Benny.” You nudged him away but couldn’t help but laugh at his antics. Your friends watched you both closely as you sat down, being sure to have an empty space that Benny quickly occupied. Noticing the slightly suspicious looks, you tilted your head with a bit of nervousness. “What?”

Sarah was the one to break your friends’ silence. “Honestly, I’m kinda surprised it finally happened.”

You and Benny looked at each other, confused, but Rory spoke before you could ask further questions. “Yeah, we’ve had a bet going on for months. I thought it would take you guys until college.”

“You guys bet on us?” You couldn’t help but snort. This felt so absurd. You and Benny didn’t like each other like that, so you had no clue where your friends got the idea that you would end up together. “Wait, so then, who won?”

Your mouth immediately dropped at who raised their hand.

“Looks like I just got fifty bucks richer.” Erica grinned. While the rest of your friends grumbled and dug around for their wallets, you and your ‘boyfriend’ looked at each other. Benny looked just as baffled as you. It seemed that the same question came to both of your minds.

How the hell was this going to work now?

Benny was determined that his plan would still work out. You didn’t know how it would, despite the multiple explanations and scenarios he gave you. But now, there was a problem that felt bigger than being a part of this ridiculous scheme.

You were pretty sure that you were falling for Benny.

It wasn’t your fault. How else were you supposed to feel when almost every time you saw him, he was showering you with compliments and affection and magically summoned bouquets of flowers? Sure, he always glanced discreetly at Erica to gauge her reactions, but you just decided to ignore that.

You should’ve seen this coming. You knew that pretending to be with Benny would jeopardize your friendship. So, as much as you didn’t want to, you needed to end this.

“Hey, Bens, can I talk to you for a minute?” You asked quietly, trying not to draw everyone’s attention. 

Everyone was at Ethan’s house, like every other weekend, and although you tried to focus on the movie that was playing, your dilemma kept tugging at your mind.

Benny looked at you, almost concerned. “Yeah, of course.” He stood up from the couch and held his hand out for you to take. Luckily, the darkness of the living room hid your blush as Benny locked his fingers with yours and led you away from the living room.

“Don’t do anything gross!” Ethan shouted to you, eyes never leaving the screen. You laughed despite your nervousness.

Assuming you’d want some privacy, Benny took you outside. Thanks to the nearing summer season, the weather wasn’t too cold, and there was still a bit of daylight left. Benny sat on the porch swing by the front door, forcing you to sit with him because he was still holding your hand. 

“What’s up?” He asked, looking at you curiously.

You gulped. You hadn’t really thought that far ahead.

“I think we need to break up.” It shouldn’t have sounded so serious, especially since you weren’t actually dating. But with the wounded puppy look Benny gave you while tightening his grasp on your hand, you might as well have been.

“What? Why?”

You couldn’t tell Benny the real reason, that would just ruin things even more. Your eyes fell on your free hand that played with the hem of your shirt. “I mean, the whole reason we did this in the first place was so you could get Erica’s attention. But she doesn’t really seem to care, so it’s obviously not working.”

Benny stammered, racking his brain for a response. “Well, maybe we just need some more time.”

“You said it would take two weeks, Benny. It’s been a month.”

“Oh, excuse me for not understanding the concept of time.” You chuckled despite his offended tone and clear distaste for what you were saying. “Just a little longer, Y/n. Please.”

“Why?” You asked, looking up at Benny. “Why, Benny? What’s the point?” He started to say something but quickly bit his tongue. You stared at him expectantly, but he just stared at his feet to avoid your gaze. “Benny?”

The boy let out a huff. He muttered something, clearly not wanting you to hear it.

“Benny!”

“I didn’t do it for Erica.”

Your mouth opened to respond, but nothing came out. You looked at him, confused, trying to figure out what he meant. “What?”

“I didn’t do it because of Erica,” Benny repeated. “I thought…” He was so deep in thought that he didn’t realize he was still holding your hand, thumb sweeping over the back of your palm at a steady rhythm. You squeezed his hand lightly, and it seemed to help Benny finish his sentence. “I thought that if we pretended to date, you would like, realize that I’m the love of your life. Or something, I don’t know.”

You almost laughed at how pink Benny was from his embarrassment. He was completely refusing to look anywhere remotely in your direction.

Despite how giddy you were at this information, you kept your cool. “So, instead of just asking me out like a normal person, you decided to come up with an elaborate plot where you make me think you like another girl, so I’d like you?”

Benny was quiet for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. “Well, it sounds kinda stupid when you say it like that.”

You laughed, bumping shoulders with him and hoping that would ease his nerves. “For what it’s worth, I probably would’ve said yes if you just asked.”

“Now I know for next time.” Benny finally looked at you, giving you a lopsided smile. You tilted your head in faux confusion.

“What do you mean? I thought you wanted to keep dating.”

Benny’s expression was a mix of shock and delight. You broke into a grin, which Benny soon wiped off your face by planting his lips on yours. You returned the kiss eagerly, carding your hands through his unruly hair while he cupped the back of your neck. 

You were so wrapped up in each other that neither of you heard the pounding on the window beside you. “Hey! Knock it off!”

Sooooooooo MBAV x SCREAM (1996)???? Anyone???

Scream 1996 is not only my fav Horror movie but my favorite movie in general. I love this movie it’s great. So why not combine it with a show that I love also! MBAV is definitely not my fav show but it is one I like to make art of.

I actually really like this Au idea… I’m definitely making more art for it. In a weird way it makes sense ya know??

Rory’s the goofy horror buff, Erica’s the sexy bestie, Ethan is also a horror buff but in wayyy more self righteous way, Sarah is uptight and vampires are always a sex allegory so that makes sense that she would be a “prude”, and most fittingly Benny is the goofy overacting friend who goes with wtv his bestie wants just for the lols.

I think I like this AU more than my Descendants AU I dunnoooo. It’s just a lot of fun fr.

I think that it’d be the same plot as Scream 1996 ignoring the other movies because that’s what I’ve been doing my whole life. I know some of the later movies are really good but I decided long ago I’d never watch them so boohoo.

I’m sure if I think about it hard enough I could fit some characters into other AU roles but I’m mostly gonna be doing screenshot redraws of the main 5…
