#i do like the headcanon that she’s overwritten

Idk, I feel like it’s the plausible that the story could have taken place at any given point of time before the sunshot campaign, just because the details are so vague. If he did it after the archery competition, I’d feel like nobody would really know about it, and anybody except wwx wouldn’t care to retell it, then where would lwj have heard of it (if we’re assuming he’s the one who tells lsz)?
But also, wwx never waxes poetry about anyone not lwj. Why would he start now with some random spirit? He definitely remembers the incident, or else he wouldn’t have tried to divert lsz from telling the story twice.
That “Lady of Ephemerals” story was so unnecessary. What exactly did we learn? Wei Wuxian was a menace as a child? 😂😂😂
#mdzs#i do like the headcanon that she’s overwritten#by his attraction to lwj tho#like she’s just that insignificant to him (which she kinda is)#but wwx can’t actually say any of this out loud#since how would ‘mxy’ know what the spirit looked like#if wwx was the only one to see her before she disappeared?

hi and hello i'm back from the dead here are some 1b quirk headcanons (that may or may not contradict canon but i'm too lazy to check everything)
Kuroiro
dad had a very limited phasing quirk, mom had an ink quirk. neither had #000000 skin that part kinda came out of nowhere
despite obviously being connected to his ability it's just a mutation that appeared along with it and isn't required for the quirk to be usable -what i mean by this is that Monoma's skin doesn't turn black when he copies it
it's. a really confusing quirk mechanics wise. Kuroiro himself isn't exactly sure how it works, it just does and thinking about it too hard makes his head hurt lol
he can merge into dark surfaces. doing so doesn't increase the weight of the object he's merged into. it's like he straight up disappears.
when he fully submerges himself in a shadow, he finds himself in kind of a black void in which he can move freely (without using his muscles, i think. just zooms around somehow...) and which he can leave whenever he wants through the same surface he used to enter or another one connected to it. is it some sort of super limited alternate dimension that he can enter through shadows?? PERHAPS
since he doesn't lose his clothes when he uses his quirk, he has to be able to bring objects into the darkness with him. i imagine he can do it with all things that aren't living (them being black is not necessary because it seems to work with white shoes and bracelets) and as long as they're touching him - if he lets go of an object while in a shadow, it will just fall out. therefore his quirk can be used for transporting things, but not for storing them.
you can also explain him not losing his clothes by them being mirio style dna fabric but that's the more boring option so screw that
when jumping out of a shadow, his speed matches that at which he was moving inside of it. i think it would be cool if he could build up speed while moving through a shadow and then just SHOOT out of it and kick someone real hard
Pony
Pony actually has "two quirks" - the one that gives her horns and the ability to shoot them (inherited from her dad) and the one that gives her the appearance of a horse/pony (inherited from her mom). it's registered as "horn cannon" for the same reason why Tokoyami's quirk isn't "raven" and Mina's isn't "pink alien thing" - it's a passive mutation quirk so it gets "overwritten" by horn cannon, which is more "active" - does this make sense?
thanks to her secondary quirk Pony is much stronger than the average person and can run really fast when on all fours. she can also neigh like a horse, digest celulose a bit better than average and sleep while standing. it's... not much besides that
Pony's horn cannon quirk requires keratin to function, because it's what her horns are made of. regrowing her horns too many times causes her to suffer from keratin deficiency, worsening the condition of her hair, skin, nails and hooves
most telekinetic quirks cause headaches when overused, but Pony's ability to control her horns is very minor so that drawback doesn't really affect her
Kendo
her quirk is a mix of her parents quirks - her mom can extend her fingers and her dad has superhuman strength in his arms
enlarging her hands increases their weight a lot, but Kendo's abilities don't suffer from that because her back and arms are naturally extremely strong as an adaptation to her quirk (she can beat everyone in the class at quirkless hand wrestling - it's highkey unfair, but she can)
however, she still sometimes ends up with lower back pains if she uses her quirk too much
Setsuna
her dad does have a lizard quirk (that actually gives him a tail that he's able to detach and regenerate), but her mom's quirk is actually more similar to Setsuna's. it basically lets her detach and re-attach parts of her body along predetermined lines, and lacks the regenerative abilities
her quirk makes her basically indestructible because it lets her regenerate any destroyed or injured body part, plus she seemingly doesn't even need any of her organs to be connected to each other. her only weak point is her head, attacking it is the only way to knock her out (or kill her)
her head/brain is also her "core" - she can only regenerate body parts that are connected to her brain. i'll use the final exams as an example - if she managed to get her whole head outside the gate, she would be able to regenerate her whole body around it and pass (she would probably pass out from exhaustion, but still). however if she only got some other body part, like one of her arms outside the gate she wouldn't be able to do that because the arm isn't connected to the brain. hope you get what i mean lol
in-universe, her quirk probably isn't censored with black, so i'm guessing it looks quite gory and tends to freak people out when they see it for the first time. an upside to this is that thanks to having to deal with the sight of it on a daily basis, no one in class 1-B has to worry about the shock of first seeing gruesome injuries during hero work. they're all desensitized through safe means👍
a drawback that is shared by most regeneration quirks is that due to the rapid cell division that occurs when regenerating body parts, she is at a high risk of developing cancer. however that's far less troublesome than it sounds, as she can always just painlessly detach the cancerous part and grow a new healthy one. doctors hate this one weird trick or something
as you can probably tell from my art, i really like the headcanon that her skin looks kinda patchwork-y because her regenerated pieces are never exactly the same as the original body parts
due to those imperfections, she's extra careful about her brain pieces bc it's such a complicated organ that the tiniest change in its structure can seriously mess things up. like cause memory loss or personality changes, setsuna finds that terrifying and honestly who wouldn't!!
Tsuburaba
another 50/50 mix - his mom can create colorful smoke/mist with her breath and his dad can produce a glass-like liquid from his skin and solidify it at will
i gotta admit that i'm not sure what the "solid air" actually should be. if it was actual solid air, it would be incredibly cold, unless there's some pressure fuckery happening here. and since i kind of don't understand that hypothetical pressure fuckery i generally prefer to think that it's some different substance that's a solid in normal conditions and was just named "solid air" because the way it's created makes it seem like it.
while the amount of solid air he can create does depend on his lung capacity, the quirk itself doesn't give him any extra amount of it. in other words he has the lungs of a regular athletic teenage boy, nothing special
his actual "quirk factor" is his throat, using his quirk too much first dries it up, then proceeds to damage its walls, which can result in him not being able to use his quirk for a while. throat damage due to external factors does the same thing
he can make the stuctures created with his quirk disappear at will. it's not required, but he likes to snap his fingers when doing so. makes it look cooler.
he's only ever been shown to create stationary structures, but i like to think that he can also make mobile ones (in other words i think he should be able to make solid air weapons and tools because that's cool)
Tetsutetsu
exact copy of his mom's quirk. gotta go with the joke
along with the temperature resistance, inability to regulate his hardness and dependence on iron consumption, another difference between his quirk and Kirishima's is that turning into steel also significantly increases his weight, which allows him to hit harder at the cost of slowing him down a little
the wiki says that it was never clarified what "iron consumption" means, so it's up to me to decide - i think they meant that he needs to eat food that contains iron, judging by the fact that the (stereotypically!) rich in iron spinach is his favorite food. i don't think he eats the actual metal, lol
even when his quirk is off, his hair is slightly affected by it at all times, which makes it resemble thin metal wires. he styles it by bending it with his hands
Reiko
since it's an extremely basic quirk, i think she also directly inherited it from one of her parents i don't have concepts for them so idk which one oof
she can only use her quirk on entire objects, not parts of them
while she doesn't have to always keep the objects she's manipulating in her field of view, she has to see them in order to "pick them up" in the first place
i believe that the "can only lift things that weigh less than an average person" limitation she has in canon is supposed to explain why she doesn't just use it to throw people around, and yeah that makes sense. what doesn't make sense is why she can't pull them by their clothes instead, so i'm going to make up an explanation for that too - clothes are usually pretty thin, so trying to grab them without also grabbing the person themselves and therefore exceeding the weight limit usually requires quite a lot of precision, which Reiko doesn't have (yet - one day she'll learn, i imagine)
the term "weight limit" is a simplification, it's actually a mass limit. in other words when she can't lift something it's not because can't exert a strong enough force to counteract its weight, but because she can't manipulate this much matter at once. she wouldn't be all-powerful in space or when cooperating with ochako
speaking of the force that she can apply to objects, it can be pretty insane if she concentrates hard enough for a long enough time
she doesn't actually need to move her hands to use her quirk, but it helps her focus and visualize its effect better
as it's a major telekinetic ability, overusing her quirk gives Reiko headaches
(i'm making up so many rules and limitations because telekinesis is a BROKEN ability if you think about it enough lol)
Shiozaki
mix of her dad's ability to speed up plant growth and her mom's ability to manipulate her hair
since her vines are green, it's safe to assume they contain chlorophyl and therefore are able to photosynthetize. however, due to the way they're shaped, i doubt it's very efficient (bad surface area to volume ratio), so i suppose Ibara has to provide most of the nutrients herself. in other words i think she eats way more than the average person and drinks more water, too
failing to provide those will cause her ability to extend and move her vines to suffer, and in more extreme cases, they will just fall off. she can regrow them when that happens, but it takes time.
while theirs are obviously very different from ours, plants do have senses, and Ibara can use those plant senses of her vines as kind of an extension of her own
Kamakiri
another exact copy, of his mom's quirk this time. she actually used to be a pro hero, too (one day i might elaborate on this)
it does come with the innate desire to cut things, however thanks to his mom sharing the same quirk he received proper support so it never grew into a problem. on the other hand despite seeming scary, it's not that much to handle. he just satisfies that desire by cutting vegetables lol
by default his blades are extremely sharp, but if he focuses hard enough he can make them more blunt and less lethal
unrelated to the blades, but due to part-bug biology, he's much lighter than you'd expect someone of his posture to be.
and that's it for today~ i do have thoughts about the others' quirks but i felt like they weren't coherent enough to put here lol. maybe another day? also if anything here directly contradicts canon or if you just have other ideas, you are more than welcome to share your thoughts, i really like discussing quirks :]
#bnha#class 1b#tikto's textposts#tikto's headcanons#character tag time baby#shihai kuroiro#pony tsunotori#itsuka kendo#setsuna tokage#tetsutetsu tetsutetsu#reiko yanagi#togaru kamakiri#ibara shiozaki#kosei tsuburaba#i also had hcs for kaibara but decided i didnt like them.#the only points on the list that i still vibe with are that his quirk is the same as his dad's (mom was quirkless)#and that he never gets dizzy#god tier semicircular canals#and those two dont feel like enough idk ill leave them here as a treat for the curious ones

Skyblock Kingdoms species headcanons: expanded edition
okay so a while ago i had a post with an overview of my headcanons for the SBKers, but it was very basic bc i only had ideas for a few people . however, here is me now going completely insane. enjoy
Dark Oak:
Viking:
catboy. has ears under his hat, which is why he never takes it off.
i cant decide if he has a tail or not. itd make sense with the catboyism but not with the "able to hide it" thing
sometimes partially phases through things, and his elytra wings arent fully tangible. also: elytra are Very green.
not a species headcanon but, as is typical for when i write about Vikings: his compass points somewhere, and that somewhere is Down. if he holds his compass horizontally, the needle spins in place, but otherwise it's always pointing to the Void.
Fix:
is extremely normal. like, normal to the point where everything else just kinda.. fizzles out.
(Milkman is able to push it, but still doesn't get a strong reaction.)
if it somehow canceled out, something would be extremely up with Fix. like, this guy is Not human, hes just been made human by... whatever is causing this.
i don't know what he'd be, though. ccViking mentioned gryphon and i think that's fun considering there's a few other mythical creatures in here, but Solar has also been prodding me with the alien Fix agenda so
Cherry:
Rubyco:
pointy-eared allay hybrid
...although that's usually overwritten by her mimicry. shifts species and aesthetic often to better blend in with whoever xe's spending time with
might be an issue related to the timeline instability-- bleedover from other timelines where he's island partners with someone else instead of Vintage.
hair is made of gemstones, and injuries can show up as cracks or chips to reveal crystal underneath. (so, basically the same as my take on tRuby.)
has allay wings, obvs
Vintage:
dryad and guardian of the cherry grove biome
the original cherry tree on the island was Her Tree, and has now regrown into the big tree
i keep thinking [elora from spyro voice] "im a FAUN you dork" so . i guess she's a faun also??? dryad taking form of a faun
LUNA MOTH WINGS. I NEARLY FORGOT
what if a deer was a person. and pink. and a tree. and a luna moth. and had cherry blossoms growing on her. and was bi
Jungle:
Avid:
has everything wrong with him.
i dont know how to describe whats going on with Avid besides "it was BAD". the deeper he got into dark magic the more screwed up he got mentally and physically
got a white hair streak from stress of being trapped in incendium and his eyes gradually went from purple to red after selling his soul
nonhuman in the sense of "was human once and we have no idea what the hell he is now"
now he's monkey! this is an improvement. still has the hair streak though, and his eyes look red in some lighting
Doovid:
the actual only human on the entire server. Fix doesn't count
..and now he's monkey! oops lmao
im gonna be real most of my headcanons for who he is and where he came from are gonna hinge on me remembering to rewatch Shadow of Israphel. thanks mallow <3
full title Skylord Doovid, although nobody calls him that
elytra are a wood-and-canvas style glider
Birch:
Fool:
ex-human
covered in cracks and held together by gold seams, like broken pottery
bleeds liquid gold
can be mistaken for a marble statue if he stands still.
he's still flesh and.. uh, not blood, but looks a bit Off
Milkman:
gestures. WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS GUY
mimic shapeshifter like Ruby but, like. worse. guy who has realized he can use his abilities For The Bit and has never looked back
cannot be killed in a way that matters
Bamboo:
M1G:
humanoid alien with pointy ears, a tail, and bioluminescent freckles
eyes and blood also glow. M1G is very glowy.
has paws :3
dragon elytra
Kale:
space piiiiig
anthropomorphic, can be easily mistaken for a piglin
has the gift of opposable thumbs
Mangrove:
Marmalade:
ccRuby mentioned the idea of Marm having hooves and i think that's neat.
drifting further away from human the more times she falls into the Void
maybe some demon vibes? idk. in the category of "not a specific species, just has nonhuman traits" but Avid probably considers her demonic lmao
eyes have a slight glow. when doing magic or listening to the Void, the glow gets brighter / her eyes entirely change color and have a light trail
Tea:
kitty :3
like. Viking is catboy. Tea is cat.
Acacia:
Trog:
human... right?
not human. eldritch entity that's knitted itself together into a human form. either the original Trog is still in there somewhere, or was never there at all.
glowing eyes, sharp teeth, face always somewhat in shadow. movement either too fluid or too stiff. nearing the uncanny valley
has triangle pupils and their eyes reflect light like a cat's
bleeds black gunk (if they remember to bleed, anyway)
is "stuck" as human, but when stressed, too close to the Void, or losing focus they can start to glitch out into a chaotic mess of triangles and polygons until they're grounded again
Kittrix:
red panda hybrid! ears, tail, paws
very sculk-y under the hoodie. has the exposed soul-heart-cage thing the Warden does
sensitive to sound, but hasn't made the connection that it's a sculk thing and thinks she just has misophonia
completely unbothered by everything Wrong with Trog. it's all perfectly normal, says entity who is also not normal in any way shape or form,
Spruce:
Acorn:
was previously a squirrel in a raccoon mask
after the void jump, she's now just like.. kinda a mishmash of small winter-y animals. squirrel, ermine, fox, snowshoe rabbit, etc
congratulations! youve gotten promoted to "embodiment of winter". im sure that wont have consequences
does not have facial features under the mask. it's fine she doesn't need them where she's going
has arctic tern elytra wings
sculk is still surface-level, but it keeps regrowing when she tries to pry it off
Anathra:
android, looks human unless you play close attention - most SBKers haven't figured it out yet
used to overheat easily (especially with glasses off), but after his hair started changing color he's now freezing cold to the touch
glasses are an external attachment that lock into place, so Anathra taking them off is Very Intentional and they can't be knocked off by accident
is usually able to repair himself, but sometimes has to go to Trog or Neon for help
currently unbothered by the sculk, although he's getting a bit concerned about what damage it might do to his components if it continues spreading
Mushroom:
Elffe:
solar i am holding a hand out to you. elffebrine
(translation: what if Elffe was Herobrine. glowy eyes, teleportation, cryptid energy)
has mushrooms and crimson vines growing on him. that's probably fine
in contrast to Spruce being unnaturally cold, Elffe is unnaturally warm. radiates heat, melts snow and ice, etc
Artemis:
god i wish i knew literally anything abt artemis. please log back on all i know is that fallow thinks youre cool
End:
Neon:
cyborg, but in a cassette futurism way. 90s clunky electronics.
hard to tell how much of him is organic and how much isn't. has large bulky metal parts, but also faint lines of neon green circuitry that show through his skin.
is a bit run-down and weathered after being stranded with Leon. he was starting to rust :(
Leon:
chinstrap penguin :3
non-anthropomorphic because it's funny. scaled up to be average human size, though
has ender particles drifting off him
slowly transforming into more of an End creature because of his dependence on chorus fruit

Hi! Sorry if you you've already answered this or if I just couldn't find it, but how do you get Celery at Midnight?!
Gotten the choice in the apartment with Merlin but it seems others have gotten the option much later? (As final words, even?)
Since even Merlin was shocked by the sudden comment, but only comments that MC isn't Mute after all in the apartment, i'm guessing there is another opportunity that I just can't find. Because I've tried. So. Many. Times. 😂
What am I missing lol?
Super fun either way.
My headcanon is that MC is some really serious Oracle and that every "weird" comment is a true prophecy, like Cassandra from Greek Mythology.
Nothing surprises her, or scares her, she'll just continue strolling through the store filled with eldritch horrors, trying deciding which book she wants to buy.
Adrian is screaming at her to leave, everyone else is running around panicking, but MC is just chilling and when a monster is about to unalive MC she just "happens" to bend down to pick up a book she dropped and the monster runs into the bookshelf, which knocks it over, which knocks over the next, and the next, and the next...
And suddenly the demon problem has been solved by this totally random and lucky accident.
And at the exact moment MC has chosen which book to get book, Merlin returns and tells everyone it's time to get back on the road.
Such lucky timing.
Everyone needs to just calm down, it's just the apocalypse, it's fine.
It's the mutants and Midnight Celery you need to worry about.
Thanks you so much, Love your writing!
There's only one chance to choose "The celery stalks at midnight" and that's at the end of the introduction scene where MC introduces themselves as ". . ." If you've already seen that choice, than that's it.
You can get that set to MC's last words if they don't already have other last words (such as MC's last words from when they nearly get dragged under the bed by the hydra) and those "celery" last words can also be overwritten by other, newer last words if the MC gets into a near death situation again.
Otherwise, what's going on with celery and crazy-theory sprouting MCs is still up for debate, so feel free to headcanon away.

I was rewatching the christmas episode and I love the part where Davy says he uses a security blanket, I know it was just thrown in to be funny but it’s actually really cute to think about. do you have any thoughts on it or similar headcanons about him?
It IS really cute!
I do have some thoughts on it. Probably many. These are going to be very disorganized and probably a bit overwritten, I warn in advance.
There was an interview that irl Davy did right before he died when he talks about needing someone there while he sleeps and I know when he was little (still real life davy) he had a “security pillow”. So I kind of stick those into my headcanon of tv show Davy sometimes. I think he likes having human contact and obviously we know the boys have zero personal space so he gets lots of it from his monkee brothers.
of course I’m a sucker for little tiny baby davy because he’s totally a spoiled brat toddler sometimes and he’s a fricken cutie whether i like it or not but i have some little thoughts that go more along the lines with that as well as contributing to him needing human contact I guess.
throughout the show when davy gets scared he tends to cling onto people (see clinging onto mike’s arm in the adorable monkee bed, or clinging onto micky’s arm when they think peter falls off that balcony in some video for a song that I can’t think of right now. maybe for pete’s sake?) or he jumps into someone’s arms and they carry him away, or he calls for out for Mike (see the circus episode when the guy starts throwing knives at him. like honey, what is mike gonna do? he’s a skinny little scarecrow man. michael tries his best.) OR he gets all jumpy and overstimulated and then devolves into nervous little giggles (see the wild monkees episode when he thinks the biker is gonna kill him but it turns out she’s a girl and starts kissing him and he’s nervously laughing and she can barely hold onto him. he’s definitely panicky and overstimulated there.)
but basically i think that when davy’s scared, he kind of just turns into a kid in certain ways. He wants the security of someone there to take care of him. he’s all bark no bite. he acts all tough because he probably grew up needing to act tough or else he’d get picked on for being small, but now he’s got his friends to help him and i think it allows him to feel safer and to be able to rely on others more.
This connects a bit to another portion of davy’s real life that I connect into the show headcanon even though it’s clearly not meant to be within the written show. real life Davy lost his mom when he was young, and I sometimes think about the implications of if that had happened to davy in the show even though show davy has probably honestly never felt any real pain in his life. in certain ways I think that could be a reason he wants that security in the show, if he lost his mom.
I think this is a reason he clings onto mike, who’s very obviously the “protector” of the group (he’s their mama hen!! and they’re his little baby chicks following him around!! but i digress…) and mike has become a bit of a surrogate mom for Davy, and gives him what he lost as a kid losing his mom so young.
THIS IS SO SO LONG SO FAR IM SORRY
but mike being a mama to the boys, especially to peter and davy because i think micky’s more older brother type and they’re more of the “little ones” (don’t get me started on peter’s connections to mike. they run deep and peter is very much a very complicated kid in certain ways. he needs a lot of love and has deep down a fear of abandonment that i don’t think he even realizes he has, and mike is trying to help him through it. davy also helps with peter. they all help with peter, peter is so loved. anyway this is not about peter). Mike being the mama is so important to me and I love it so much and im gonna ramble about it so im sorry in advance (the monkees cuddling and making each other feel safe is so very important to me. they’re just my warm squishy comfort characters and i project everything onto them)
I made a post i think on my main blog about all of the monkees using mike’s big hands to stim with (people put davy as the “neurotypical one” but i don’t think he is. idk what he kind of neurodivergent he is but he’s something, he just conceals stuff well. i don’t even think he realizes or may ever realize. this is the 1960s we’re talking about) but I touched briefly upon my thoughts that davy just lets out his toddler energy when him and mike are on the couch and he just plops down in mike’s lap and grabs mike’s hands and occasionally bites them, but also grabbing his fingers and straightening them and stuff and making mike clap and things. Mike is just used to this at this point (davy is spoiled. don’t tell davy. he’ll deny it.) but sometimes it can be too much and I think mike has to set some boundaries about how much he can handle as a “mom” at points and Davy listens. In some of my thoughts I think Davy and Mike have known each other the longest (they just have that easy groove, i don’t know) and I think they’re able to talk well so mike can communicate if it’s just too much for him and davy’ll listen.
also Davy totally just parks himself in mike’s lap a lot and clings onto his shirt and just sits. Sometimes he just needs a nap or something and mike is warm and comfortable and davy knows he’s loved. The monkees full-group cuddle position on the couch watching the television is often peter and micky on either side of mike (pete sometimes sits on mikes lap but he’s a bit heavy and davy has a tendency to kick him off of it. davy be nice!). and davy on mikes lap and they’re all very sweet and nice and i love them.
i keep getting more and more thoughts im sorry…
one more thing i guess. davy wishes mike could pick him up. hes like a little purse dog and sort of internally wishes to be able to just be carried around on someone’s hip all the time. Mike has tried but it hurts his back. micky can do this a bit but davys just too heavy for him and he can hold him better carrying him “bridal” style like he does when davy gets scared in the show. peter is the only one who can really pick Davy up on his hip because he just doesn’t realize davys heavy because monkee logic, and davy is very startled by this at first because peter can just scoop him up and carry him around.
okay. that’s all. i’m gonna leave it at that. this post is so long, i apologize dearly. but i have many many thoughts so thank you for the ask anon!
#the monkees#davy jones#mike nesmith#peter tork#micky dolenz#anon ask#this post is SO self-indulgent#i’m SO SORRY that this is SO LONG#if anyone gets through this whole thing you’re a real trooper and i’m sorry if it makes absolutely no sense#i just have many thoughts that are a little too out there#but i still hold mike trying to mother them and everyone just being comfortable cuddling each other it’s just important to me#alright thank you thank you very much#my wrist hurts so bad from typing so much i’m sure this does wonders for my carpal tunnel

ok just realized that in all these years i dont think i ever actually wrote out these headcanons anywhere but. heres my headcanons on what the calamity trio gets out of being connected to the stones beyond getting to go anime mode
first off. these things apply even when they arent literally connected to the stones (after the temples) but only start being a thing once they first use the box. but its more connected to being the prophesied heroes of amphibia than it is to the box if that makes sense
all of them get a durability boost. if theyre injured in a way that should be completely deadly the magic of the stones will keep them alive longer. (marcy wu true colors.) (she gets stabbed straight through the heart and lungs but remains alive way longer than she should. ok so like when andrias says shes fading fast i hear it almost more as like. her spirit and ability to be revived? but because i love angst i think she should still be conscious way longer than should be possible so ive overwritten my actual interpretation of that line to be that marcy is indeed still alive. and its because of the gem)
ok and then also each of them gets kinda weird superhuman traits. marcys brain has extra dimensions. <- normal sentence but one i have said many times. this is why the core wanted her. absolutely awesome thing to run code on! i haventtt thought of things for sasha and anne beyond what they display in canon (the like. calamitymode lite they do in anne or beast and barrels warhammer) but itd be cool to write something with anne maybeee having like . visions and shared dreams when her loved ones are in danger and uhhh sasha still probably just has super strength idk what else you can do with strength .

Some random useless headcanons about my upcoming characters (that are hopefully not going to be overwritten by the game's canon)-
Thinking about giving Verbena some slightly "bleached", brighter streaks in her "shag of chestnut" hair from having spent a lot of time outside, so she can be a "Sun-Blonde Vint" ❤️ (which is also gonna be her favorite drink, and it'll give me some nice imagery to work with, vis a vis her being intoxicating as a spirit, and "strong enough to fluster a Tranquil" ❤️❤️❤️)
Whatever the Antivan Crow Rook's last name will wind up being, Coris' real last name will be "Alcoforado", for backstory reasons, and the one used in-game will have nothing to do with her actual family that's still alive. (I hope the game will be vague about how Rook came to join the Crows, because I have a very specific idea based on a false rumor about a 17th century Protuguese nun, lol.)
Tanner will be 500 pounds of whoopass in a roughly 120 pound bag, she'll like knives a tiny bit too much, she'll be a smoker, very sunkissed and freckled all over, and she'll be the (slightly unusually tall) butch dwarf woman of my (and Harding's) dreams. I am unwilling to back down on any of these statements.
Also played with something of a base appearance for Syl that I'll be sort of going for in the Veilguard cc-
All I have in my head for her right now is that one piece of Tabris concept art, where she's in the wedding dress? that's sort of where I'm coming from for her. (Thinking hard about whether she too is bi, or a lesbian. I'm leaning towards lesbian.)
Tristan's "Isolde" is going to be a Grey Warden mentor whose actual name was Iselva, she'll have been a city elf and a healer mage, one of the only (if not THE only) person who knew about his secret, and she'll have died during the events of Inquisition.

Like the whole idea of the Coffy s5 fic came from me headcanoning that Cordelia is like the only person who doesn't have any Dawn memories (because she's already got her hookup with the Powers That Be and they're too in her head for her memory to be overwritten by the monks spell thing) and it just never comes up because why would it she lives in her own separate sphere and barely ever interacts with the Sunnydale cast (I don't know if it does ever come up and is confirmed one way or the other later) anyway and then later on when the whole Riley Into the Woods thing (bleh) happened I was thinking it'd be nice if Buffy had a friend who'd also been cheated on and could comisserate with her, (and then maybe more eyebrows wiggle emoji?). Anyway so the concept right now is just a broad most things are similar AU but Cordy visits Sunnydale every few weeks on a weekend or something just to be like she lives in demon infested LA but it could be worse she could still live on top of a Hellmouth, everyone else is talking about Dawn like she's a thing, Cordy's got no idea, plays along thinking its some regular Sunnydale weirdness scheme happening, talks to Buffy about it and now Buffy has someone else who knows about the Dawn situation that she can talk to and they get closer (also I think it'd be really funny if Cordelia ran into Glory at the shops and they just hit it off immediately and go shopping together). But obviously I wanna finish S5 before I really get started there just to get all the facts y'know.
The Vamp!Willow/Harmony one is an AU where Wishverse!Willow doesn't get sent back to her own universe, she gets out of town comes back later and Harmony attaches herself to her so that Willow can be her evil mentor sorta figure after one of her many break ups with Spike. Willow hates it and is constantly trying to get away from her but eventually somewhat warms up to her as someone who isn't boring her right now (tentatively called Five Times Willow Rosenberg didn't kill Harmony Kendall)
And the Fuffy one is too ambitious, so like I really like Gwendolyn Post in Revelations so like full s3 redo where she gets to be around the whole time and works to make Faith into her personal attack dog, Faith gets to be messed up but in like somewhat different ways, it'll be fun. (this is the one I've written the most for but it would also be the biggest one so argh I really want to get back to it the last time I typed in that document was probably a couple months ago)
Also like there is admittedly a Cordelia/Willow one rattling around in here because they spent an entire night locked in a closet together and that's gotta lead somewhere right? One day it will reveal itself to me beyond the vague idea of hey what if Willow phoned up Cordelia after she broke up with Oz just to talk to someone who wouldn't treat her with the kid gloves?
And yeah I do really want to get something written and posted this month absolutely I will try.
i want to juice your brain like a lemon and drink it oh my god
#If you ever 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 needed someone 👀👀👀👀👀👀 to read and encourage you with that fuffy magnum opus#I’m available 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀#faith as gwendolyn posts attack dog makes me so completely insane oh man#asks#anonymous

also a couple days old lol but this is now about the whole r/nance being max’s mom things.
yes oh my god the fandom is absolutely so weird with labeling the teens as parents! i swear the teens could just give a member of the party a compliment and people will scream ‘look at them mothering/fathering them’ - it’s just gotten sooo ridiculous and exhausting.
omg yes about them bring robin’s ‘kids if anything’ and yes for calling out those people for ignoring erica.
yes yes yes! about in fiction the parents not being there because it’s something that’s so common. so the audience doesn’t have to worry about it but this time people do! and they ignore every single interaction in this show with the parents and the kids! like maybe it’s not all there but there is some heavy stuff with their parents. and yeah about it looking silly if people ignore the parents because it is silly! people just want to erase the parents meanwhile it’s just not good at all and is just incredibly silly.
gos i hate when people write over the fact that max have steve a letter because it’s sooo important. i feel like people just want to write steve off no matter what now. oh he was the person that dustin looks up to - never mind dustin looks up to eddie so much more now (to be fair canon also started that). oh steve is robin’s best friend - let’s give that role to jonathan or nancy or eddie. oh max gave steve a letter - never mind she looks up to nancy of robin so much more than steve. oh steve is the babysitter - never mind let’s just give that role to eddie. lol that for long but i’m just so fucking frustrated with the fact that it seems like EVERYONE wants to write steve off.
the st teens being called ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ is just an extension of people being unable to see found family as anything other than a nuclear family. the oldest in the group will end up being called ‘parents’ even if they’re still teens.
and i love and miss scoops troop every single day and yet this fandom just ignores them. and it makes me sick.
honestly i find the parents really interesting in st, like i have so many headcanons about steve’s parents, and we’ve never even met them! it’s cool to think about the kids relationships with their parents and how that informs who they are as people. and i get not wanting to involve adults in fics because it can make them a bit more complicated, (and tbf the adults aren’t that involved in upside down stuff) but it also just makes the world feel more full. it makes the characters feel like they have real history’s and lives. instead of just getting plopped down into a fic.
it is funny because for the people that don’t like steve, he really is pretty involved with most of the story and a lot fo characters (though they like to pretend he isn’t) so, to try and get rid of him he just ends up getting overwritten a lot. he isn’t important to max anymore because… female power? and max’s relationship with nancy and robin is more important (even though she literally has no relationship with them lmao). he’s too much of a jock for dustin to look up to, dustin has to look up to a nerd, so let’s shove eddie in there. (even though just being steve’s friend gave dustin confidence, and they were nerdy together, and steve has clearly watched the star wars in s3, so he watched them with dustin? that’s so cute). it’s just weird that it seems like even people who like steve (like in steddie fics) feel the need to get rid of him a bit, take away some of his importance and give it to someone else.

My headcanons/musings about Caleb, his role as the One that Binds and adjacent stuff:
After defeating Tchernobog, Caleb not only inherited his powers, but also His memories. All of them, starting from the time He first emerged aeons ago. Caleb is afraid that Tchernobog’s essence and memories will overwhelm his own and he will lose himself, becoming merely one of His “masks”. To cope with this Caleb goes into full denial, refusing to use his new powers or acknowledging he has them for a hundred years and lets the world fall apart around him.
There seems to be some sort of condition that needs to be fulfilled for Tchernobog to possess someone, thus the need for a dedicated group of people to choose a new vessel from and the whole dumbass “make your strongest and most loyal follower hate you and make him even stronger” plan. Tchernobog’s skeleton form from the first game might also be a result of a failed attempt to make a more sturdy vessel for His essence, a meat mecha so to speak. It’s also mentioned that some incarnations have altered His personality. It specifically says “altered” and “colored”, not “overwrote” like Caleb did.
My hc for that all the previous incarnations voluntarily let themselves be possessed, preparing themselves for this role for a long time; sometimes the traces of their personalities remained, but it was never enough to completely supersede the One that Binds.
Caleb, on the other hand, absolutely did not want to be possessed. He wanted his old god dead, so he was able to resist the initial flood of Tchernobog’s memories and avoid complete possession, but now he has billions of years worth of memories compared to which his own life is less than a blip, so now he’s not quite sure who he is now and whether he ever was “Caleb” to begin with, or is he Tchernobog that deluded himself into thinking he’s Caleb.
I think that’s how Revelations(Blood 2’s thankfully cancelled expansion) could work: instead of Caleb being possessed the whole time he slowly succumbs to the possession, and by the end his will and personality get entirely overwritten by Tchernobog’s(or he accepts that he is Tchernobog and sheds his “Caleb” identity), maybe have him show cracks as early as the base second game(maybe have a conflict between his desire to just keep doing whatever he was doing for a century in the world that’s falling apart and Tchernobog’s goal to take over the world like He originally intended to).
The whole theme of identity and memories could even be expanded to the other Chosen: Ophelia’s sorority girl memory might be from the body she ended up in, for example, Gabriella is reborn as a woman so the connection is obvious. Not sure how Ishmael ties into it tho.
Thanks for reading my “trying to fix Blood 2 #2837484847” post

So I Saw Cats
THURSDAY, MAY 5TH
I’m going to try to keep anything that could be “spoilers” (production particulars and specific observations) to the “The Jellicle Ball” (Show) and “General Critiques (Spoilers)” section.
Word count: ~3900
DISCLAIMERS
I am not going to be remotely objective in any of this. I’ve been waiting for this show since April of last year, been closely following the cast on social media since September, and I came into this show with Opinions of them on and off the stage. And I’m going to try to not sacrifice my opinions for the sake of pseudo-intellectualism.
I’m going to be referencing the (digital) program from the theater.
I’ll make a separate post about headcanons gained from or reinforced by the show.
I’m going to be incorporating elements/takes from my 2-hour post-show conversation with dilfstrapisanormalword, who saw the show with me.
If I say someone is mugging I mean that with 100% affection and it should always come with the qualifier that I am completely here for it.
I’m not going to spell it “Rumpelteazer.”
I’m going to try to avoid criticisms aimed at any particular performer.
I haven’t watched the revival boot recently so some obvious elements may be remarked on.
I hadn’t seen the show live before and don’t care much for bootlegs (i haven’t seen a replica bootleg that impressed me) and if you think that gives me an overly positive view of this production I literally don’t care.
Without further ado...
THE JELLICLE CATS
There were a couple covers on: Travis Anderson as Tugger, Megan Arseneau as Demeter, Elana Valastro as Rumpleteazer, and Gracie Anderson as Tantomile. I’m trying to balance my opinions on covered tracks relative to main cast, because while the swings obviously have the skill necessary to cover so many roles in a show, I don’t think it’s appropriate to expect them to have the same skill sets of 5-6 different people.
I’ll go alphabetically by character to make this overwritten scourge a little easier to navigate. A © indicates a cover. If they have a little ⭐ next to their name it means they were already one of my favorites and I’m going to be even less unbiased than usual. I do not feel bad about that. Also only 3 of my top 5 favorite cast members were in the show and that definitely determined where I was watching. I do not feel bad about that either.
I don’t think I left anyone off, if I did I am very sorry.
Alonzo (Vinny Andaloro ⭐) - Vinnylonzo is an absolute delight and I wish he didn’t spend so much of the show toward the back of the stage. He was such a presence in the show, especially as Munk’s second-in-command, but he still gets plenty of chances for mugging and goofiness, which Vinny just plays so well. He has redeemed Alonzo for me -good for him!
Bustopher Jones (John Anker Bow) - Bustopher was good but pretty standard. The highlight was probably that he was actually very warm, with the kittens especially. He doesn’t get a lot of opportunity for characterization other than, like, he’s a fancy lad who loves food and knows how to get it. I can admire that, but it doesn’t call for much comment. I’ll leave it there.
Bombalurina (Chelsea Nicole Mitchell) - I want to apologize for sleeping on Chelsea for so long. An incredible performer. She’s got so much charm and such a rich, dynamic voice.
Coricopat & Tantomile (Taylor James Rosenberger & ©Gracie Anderson) - Gracie is so small compared to Taylor. I’m glad that even though they spend most of the show together, they also get to go off and do things with other cats. Also Taylor gave me some himbo!Cori rights, I appreciate that.
Cassandra (Lexy Bittner) - Lexy makes a very sweet Cassandra with maybe a bit of a mischievous vibe to her.
Demeter (©Megan Arseneau) - Megan’s Demeter brought the “sympathetic to Grizabella” energy I was hoping for, and her reactions to the Macavity scares worked well.
Grizabella (Tayler Harris ⭐) - We are not worthy. It takes a special talent to make me feel bad for Grizabella and Tayler blew it out of the water.
Gus (John Anker Bow, again) - Bow’s Gus was way better than I expected (even knowing Jemi’s thoughts). He also had great comedic timing.
Jellylorum (Kayli Jamison) - Kayli’s Jelly was so sweet and had great rapport with the younger cats. You really got the sense she was one of the tribe moms. She’s also quite funny and has an appropriately mature vocal tone.
Jennyanydots (Michelle E. Carter) - Michelle makes such a fun Jenny. I like that she was allowed to be a little silly. Another tribe mom, but like, the cool mom.
Macavity (Aiden Pressel) - Karyn noted that because we haven’t seen much of Aiden as Macavity, it was easier to make the disconnect between the performer and the character, which while that for me is a pretty neutral qualification on its own, I think it really worked for seeing Macavity as more of a threat.
Mistoffelees (Paul Giarratano) - Paul brings an incredible amount of energy for the sheer number of shows he’s done. Very Type-A Personality Misto. We stan.
Mungojerrie & Rumpleteazer (Max Craven & ©Elana Valastro) - Elana is such a bubbly Teazer! Max’s Jerrie is very basterd and kept picking fights with the tomkits. The one thing I could nitpick about them is that they seem to be a little too close in height for it to not be noticeable in the choreography. This isn’t a criticism of either of them, it was just something that was visible in their song. They have great chemistry.
Munkustrap (Nick Davis) - My main thought that I came away with for Nickustrap was “Nick is my favorite of the revival-era Munkustraps” (probably rivaled by José, but I don’t think I’ve seen enough of theirs to have an opinion yet). I think he’s a better vocal fit than Devon, and he gave a serious but still youthful energy to the role.
Old Deuteronomy (Indalecio de Jesús Valentín) - Adorable Old D. Acting was phenomenal and a wonderful voice.
Plato (Aiden Pressel, again) - Aiden is an absolutely adorable Plato, and yes, we knew that already, but seeing it live was truly wonderful. He is so in love with Victoria I can’t stand it. So glad I got to see him opposite Hyla especially.
Pouncival (Dominic Fortunato) - (he’s Baby, your honor).
Rum Tum Tugger (©Travis Anderson) - I do not envy the position Travis is in right now. It was only his 3rd show, playing an iconic character that can too easily come off as annoying given the wrong direction, and taking over for the singular fandom favorite of the cast. As such, I am giving him as much grace as is humanly possible. And what I can say is that he’s already starting to make the character his own, and I can see him quickly getting more comfortable with it as he takes over the role, and his chemistry with the rest of the cast developing as well. I have mixed feelings about the nature of his characterization, but I can appreciate him not coming in and just copying Zach. You can also tell he’s having a lot of fun with the role, and although I had some issue with his tone, he has a very good voice. I’m definitely happy to have gotten to see him.
Sillabub (Brianna Kim) - The smallest, sweetest Silly that could ever be. I was not prepared for how adorable she was.
Skimbleshanks (Christopher Salvaggio) - I didn’t have bad expectations for Chris’s Skimble but I was still very impressed. Everyone’s favorite uncle, loved watching him protect the kittens from Grizabella.
Tumblebrutus (Sean McManus ⭐) - Steal the scene but make it in-character. Tumble in this version actually reminded me a lot of 98 Misto. Always On. Mugging. Tumble is also a biter.
Victoria (Hyla Mayrose Perillo) - Most gorgeous, most graceful Victoria I’ve ever seen (sorry Phyllida, it was a close call).
GENERAL PRAISE & COMMENTS (No Spoilers)
I don’t know how seeing it late in the tour compares to seeing it early on. On the one hand if anyone’s going to be getting burnt out, it’s going to be about now. On the other, everyone’s gotten so comfortable in their roles and with each other so many months later. If anyone saw the show in 2021 and would like to discuss, please reach out!
The Kitten Trio (Pounce, Silly, Tumble) gave me life the entire show. For lack of a better word they were just so Baby. Thought about giving them their own entry in the characters section, decided not to but just know they deserved it.
Having now seen Cats on film and live I cannot stress enough how, even though 98 is a proshot of the stage musical, these are still two entirely different mediums with entirely different purposes. This show was not designed to be watched more than once.
That said, I do think this cast found a great middle ground between the background character moments of 98 and the heavily (and impressively, make no mistake) choreographed but less narratively satisfying Broadway revival. At any given moment you could look around and see those background interactions we’d been missing. They understood the assignment and are only more beloved for it.
I didn’t actually find myself missing the original choreography where changes were made. I felt that they kept the most iconic bits in place, or moved them around slightly.
SO MANY LIFTS. When I get my hands on a [redacted] I’ll count the lifts.
Everyone sounded wonderful together -shoutout to the booth for enhancing the group vocals!
Chris had suddenly gone on as Bustopher/Gus at the matinee so I was surprised and initially disappointed that he didn’t do the same for the evening show, but I think it worked out well as I enjoyed his Skimble and Bow’s Gustopher!
You can really tell they all love doing the show. This was the 2nd of a 2-show day and you wouldn’t know it.
Overall I prefer this choreography to the 98 film.
It’s surreal now that the same people I’d been following online for months were maybe 20-30 feet in front of me.
I didn’t go to stage door but I did see Dom Sean and Vinny from the parking lot :)
THE JELLICLE BALL (Spoilers)
Songs listed as credited in the program. Performers & key figures in brackets. Also this part is a mix of “thoughts on the show” and “literally just something that happened that I wanna remember.” If I don’t mention a song assume I liked it but had nothing specific to say about it.
“Overture” [Orchestra]
The little cat eye lights in the junkyard set are super cool and those work with the music and the rest of the lighting to really set a mood for the show.
“Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats” [Company]
Seeing the cats pop out for the first time was surreal because it was like “yes, this is happening, you’re seeing it live.”
Sillabub gets the “lean like a lynx” line opposite Jerrie, instead of Teazer, which I don’t really understand as not only does she have her own line, but if I’m correct this means Teazer doesn’t get one.
I miss everyone having a line, and don’t understand why they wouldn’t.
“The Old Gumbie Cat” [Michelle Carter, Nick Davis, Megan Arseneau, Kayli Jamison, Chelsea Mitchell]
Kitten trio is absolutely adorable
Misto is doing So Much
Such sweet interactions between the Gumbie Trio and the kittens. Made me melt.
I enjoyed the tap sequence more than I expected.
Pounce did the scrubbies.
“The Rum Tum Tugger” [Travis Anderson, Company]
Travis’s Tugger is very 50s Elvis/kinda greaser type. It’s a take I hadn’t seen before and had some mixed feelings about, but I’m glad he didn’t just try to do a Zach!Tugger impression.
Alonzo sulking, commiserating with Munk, and trying to ruin Tumble’s fun.
Skimble dragging Jenny away from Tugger. Girls just wanna have fun!
“Bustopher Jones: The Cat About Town” [John Bow, Michelle Carter, Chelsea Mitchell, Kayli Jamison]
Dignified Bustopher.
I liked Bustopher’s interactions with the kittens. They were so excited to see him and he’s happy to tell them of his exploits.
“Toodle pip!” makes a lot more sense in the context of “Macavity?? Fuck this shit I’m out!”
“Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer” [Max Craven, Elana Valastro]
I’ll be honest: I’m not usually a fan of this number. I do like it, but most of the songs lacking the ensemble just aren’t my favorites. But seeing it live is a different experience. Both did a fantastic job.
Double cartwheel!
“Old Deuteronomy” [Nick Davis, Travis Anderson, Indalecio de Jesús Valentín]
Even though I knew Old D didn’t come from the audience in this production, the whole cast looking off down the aisle made me second guess this. He did indeed come in from side-stage.
“Song of the Jellicles and the Jellicle Ball” [Company]
The Jellicle Ball was fucking phenomenal.
I don’t dislike the concept of the Macavity Interlude; I see what they were going for, but I don’t much like how it plays in execution. Nothing in particular about it doesn’t work for me, but as someone who doesn’t like “Macavity” as a song to begin with, it’s not a highlight for me.
I didn’t mind Old Deut being involved as much as I thought I would.
Grizabella is on stage during a large portion of the ball. More time in the second half is also spent trying to shoo her off than I remember.
Tomkits colluding to rub their butts on Griz before getting shooed off by Munk
“Memory” (Part 1; both are listed as “Memory” on the program” [Tayler Harris]
Tayler is amazing and this is a great preview for the reprise later.
I found it so interesting that Deut is clearly watching Griz the whole time but when she turns in his general direction, he turns his head and seems to try to hide.
Intermission
I tried so hard to get a paw touch from Old Deut but he didn’t notice. That’s okay, he’s on the clock. Just wanted to mention it.
“Introduction to Act II/The Moments of Happiness” [Indalecio de Jesús Valentín, Brianna Kim]
Jerrie and Teazer and Pounce come back from intermission goofing around but stop when they get a Stern Look from Old Deut.
This isn’t a song I generally like so I can’t hold it against this production that it was no different here.
I did not expect the channeling of energy from Old Deut through the Psychic Twins to Sillabub to be so explicit. I appreciated it.
Brianna really makes such a sweet little Sillabub. Truly the baby of the tribe.
Choral refrain was absolutely beautiful.
“Gus the Theatre Cat” [John Bow, Kayli Jamison]
I like the more energetic Gus, and think it works better for when he’s not the Jellicle Choice.
Like with many of the songs this production stages it much like it’s stories being told to the kittens (and in this case also the younger cats), and it really works for the songs. Both Jelly and Gus have some really sweet interactions both with each other and the kittens.
But even though he’s more spry than some Gus’s have been, you still get the sense he longs for the glory days,
Gus’s “blood-curdling noise” was one of the funniest moments of the show.
“The Awefull Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles” [John Bow, Nick Davis, Indalecio de Jesús Valentín, Company]
It really is so important to me that this song was put here in place of Growltiger. I personally believe that Growltiger can’t be separated from its racist context and it’s being scrapped was long overdue. “Pekes and Pollicles” (while not exactly not-racist) is a more palatable option, and still brings a lot of fun to this section of the show that helps ease a potentially jarring tone shift (though no whiplash is as intense as in 98) between “Gus” and “Skimbleshanks.”
The new arrangement of the opening actually sounds a lot cooler than the original. I also like Old Deut cutting in to remind Gus of the next time.
Alonzo plays the police dog and brings out the same giant wine bottle as he had in “Bustopher Jones,” which was neat
Pounce does play a Pollicle toward the beginning (opposite Teazer) but otherwise the kitten trio are too young to participate in the play much. They mostly watch from the back!
I wish they used the longer version but I understand why they didn’t.
“Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat” [Chris Salvaggio, Company]
Chris is a great Skimble.
Skimble gives Tumble a spook (the “flash” line). Old Deut and Jelly start laughing but Tumble doesn’t find it funny at all! Fortunately he gets to give the all-clear signal to make up for it.
But then Tumble gets in trouble again by pushing Cassandra and Skimble picks him up by the scruff to put him back in place.
Kittens and young cats gathered around for story time with Uncle Skimble!
Elana’s Teazer sneeze was absolutely adorable, I died.
I still wish Skimble wouldn’t mime being pantsless but I’ve accepted it.
Pounce gets stuck in the chimney of the train when everything collapses and he just has to stand there for a minute as the song resumes. Adorable. :)
“Macavity, the Mystery Cat” [Chelsea Mitchell, Megan Arseneau]
We stan Chelsea Nicole Mitchell
I hadn’t realized that the revival actually didn’t change like, any of the original choreography. As such there’s not a lot to comment on.
While I don’t like Macavity being a “girls only” song (I just don’t like the vibe it gives), and especially including kittens (leave baby Sillabub out of this) I kind of softened to Jelly and Jenny coming out for the final line
Macavity Fight [Aiden Pressel, Nick Davis]
I have mixed feelings about the fight itself. On the one hand the fight a la 1998 is choreographed in such a corny way it can sometimes be hard to see Macavity as a legitimate threat (and the costume doesn’t help). On the other hand, the less you try to make dance look like dance, the less it’s… anything.
Love the reorchestration, sounds more intense than the original.
I think the buildup to the confrontation between Mac and Munk is more tense than their fight itself
I did know that Tumble joins in the Macavity fight (and gets quickly taken out, as expected of a baby), but I didn’t know that it happened while Munk was still fighting Mac (I’d thought it was something like Jerrie in 98). He’s also the only other one that tries to fight Macavity before Munk goes down.
“Munkustrap gets crucified” -Karyn
After Munkustrap gets knocked out Alonzo goes like Super Saiyan and it’s amazing. Then he gets Macavity from behind and even though he gets knocked out too that’s kind of the point where the Jellicles get the upper hand and Macavity retreats.
Munkustrap and Demeter didn’t have the same chemistry I was hoping for, but I didn’t notice until their nuzzle after the fight. Karyn pointed out that with Nick still being relatively new and Megan being a swing, they might just not have the experience together for it to come through, and we decided to save our opinions on the Demestrap chemistry until Saturday’s show.
After the lights go out Skimble shines the lantern all around the theater to see if Macavity’s really gone. This was always one of my favorite bits on the audio boot, with the music suggesting that Macavity might be hidden in the darkness.
Also yes, Alonzo is the Macavity Decoy, with Pounce and Tumble as the henchcats. They all come back during the fight.
“Magical Mister Mistoffelees” [Paul Giarratano, Travis Anderson, Company]
Paul is an amazing Misto. Absolutely electric.
The “please listen to me and don’t scoff” line makes a lot more sense with everyone trying to leave without paying Tugger’s suggestion any mind.
“Patent monopolies” always takes me out just because I’m so used to the British pronunciation being used.
“And you’ll all say” I cry.
Misto’s entrance is incredible. The lighting cue especially. I literally gasped, as though I’d forgotten that Mister Mistoffelees would be showing up for “Mister Mistoffelees.”
“Presto!”
I don’t prefer Misto singing some of his own song but I do love Paul’s voice.
Seven kittens out of a hat! There’s not enough kittens so they have to borrow some of the young adults but you get the idea.
Conjuring turn! Not as many but nonetheless!
I don’t know why this happens but Cassandra’s wig has horns at the front when she comes back out for the light-up sequence. I don’t think the average audience member would’ve noticed but it was distracting me enough to dampen the sequence as a whole. (I also just personally don’t care for this bit anyway)
Getting everyone involved in the return was really nice.
I will not comment on the exaggerated panting except that it made me uncomfy lol.
“Memory” [Tayler Harris]
Tayler blows this out of the water. I can never actually bring myself to care about Grizabella but I did love hers and of the revival-era Grizabellas especially she came across as sympathetic despite my general apathy.
Pretty early on it’s clear that the rest of the tribe is sympathetic to Grizabella and want to welcome her back.
That climax is everything.
Victoria gives Griz such a sweet paw touch, I love her so much.
Also @uppastthejelliclemoon yeah Tumble is looking at Griz even before the psychic twins but he looks away again.
“Journey to the Heaviside Layer” [Company]
Everyone in the tribe looks so genuinely happy to have Grizabella as the Jellicle Choice and it’s so important. (I just can’t let go of 98!Munk’s disdain at her selection though to be fair, that Griz wasn’t as likeable).
“The Ad-dressing of Cats” [Indalecio de Jesús Valentín, Company]
Listen I like this song and anyone who thinks it should be cut is WRONG but that’s a rant for another day
Jerrie has his arms crossed which is very poggers of him @0zzysaurus
The kitties all have favorite foods! Deut’s is cream.
“Finale”
I love the finale choreography, a nice way to wrap up the show before curtain call.
GENERAL CRITIQUES (Includes Spoilers)
I wish the show gave an opportunity for applause earlier in the show. As it is there’s no room until after “Gumbie Cat” -20 minutes in!
While this didn’t diminish my experience of the show in any way, there’s no getting around that this cast is still very young overall. Professional and incredibly talented, but I think the absence of vocal maturity is still felt in some of the roles, particularly the older cats. The younger the character, obviously, the less of a problem this is, but I don’t think it helps in this instance that most of the heavier vocal parts are given to perceptibly older characters.
CONCLUSION
I loved it. I loved it even more than I thought I would, and this performance only made me all the more excited to see it a second time. Everyone did an incredible job and having followed them along their journey to get this far I can’t help but feel proud of them.
Also, I picked my faves early on and was correct.
(Up next: Saturday’s show!)

Honestly I think the appeal of DRV3 (at least for me) is that there is no concrete answer. We don't know how much Tsumugi lied. We don't know if these are the characters "true" nature's, what the outside world is like, how much our characters backstory and identity is even REAL. We know Tsumugi does lie, because she contradicts herself, but we don't know how MUCH. And I like that. I kind of find it pointless to debate how much Tsumugi said is true or if the characters personalities were overwritten or whatever. The truth is what you make of it. Even if the characters we know ARE lies, they're still meaningful. I liked that message, idk. That lies and truth can be equally impactful, so I don't really feel the need to debate how much is true and how much is a lie, because either way, it still mattered to me. Even if it is lies, it became the truth, so why debate if it was a lie or not? I think everyone is going to have their own headcanons about how much of V3 is true or not, and what was lies, and I think that's fine! I think that's kind of the point of the game. Personally, I like the idea that the V3 cast IS implanted with fake/false personalities, but those lies still matter, and are still them. It's probably because when I was younger, I had a lot of identity issues, so the idea is comforting to me. But that's just me. Honestly, the prologue does call a lot of what Tsumugi said into question... which I also actually liked! I liked that you couldn't know for sure, if Tsumugi was lying or not and how much. I think the ambiguity of V3 would be pretty frustrating to some people, and maybe even to me in other games, but I do think V3 pulls it off well. And it was an important message to me especially when it came out, you know? So I definitely have a soft spot for V3, though I do understand how some people could find the lack of trustworthy/concrete answers frustrating!
I'm really glad that you found such meaning and importance in it. :) And especially comfort. We can all use that.
Shortly after the game first came out in NA, I posted something similar to what you're saying now. Although obviously, I don't feel that it's pointless to debate how much of Tsumugi said is true or false. Partly because I always love a deep dive into what makes a fictional world work, and partly because I'm the kind of person who feels like evidence and facts really, REALLY matter. I get so passionately upset when people ignore BLATANT evidence (or a total lack thereof) in favor of just plugging their ears. It drives me insane.
But still — even if we can nail down "The characters were very clearly put into this game against their will", that still leaves a lot of vague wiggle room where you can pretty much just headcanon your personal interpretation. To cite one obvious example: The real nature of the outside world beyond the dome is totally unknowable to us. And obviously, a lot of fans are choosing to believe whatever they want to believe about this game, even if the evidence is against it. :P But like, maybe you could argue that even the evidence we've got is somehow faked, because Tsumugi's lies are multiple levels deep! There's a lot of freedom there. (And in the world of fanfic where AUs are king, you can take it even further and just toss out whatever evidence doesn't suit you.)
But I have to mention that even if none of the others were as open-ended as V3, all of the Danganronpa games have had ambiguous endings, only to get the canonical results spelled out to us in later installments. So at least some ambiguity is right in the DR tradition. When DR1 ends, we leave on a note of uncertainty of how much Junko said is true and what the outside world is really like. When DR2 ends, we don't exactly know what the ultimate fate of the various comatose DR2 characters will be or even what Makoto's act of defiance will mean for him, Kiri, and Togami. And even UDG is just... a great big pile of open-ended questions. So to me, V3's open-endedness is sort of taking that tradition into a bigger scale.
And there's always the possibility that V3 will eventually see a canonical follow-up. If the previous track record is anything to go by, it might even be more "likely" than "possible." But... I also tend to agree with you that it might be better to just never go back there. Would I be interested in seeing what happens to Shuichi, Maki, and Himiko (and maybe Keebo) next? Of course. But I'm not confident that I'd be satisfied with an answer, either. It's probably better to just leave them where they are, and let us fill in the rest for ourselves.
Thanks for this detailed and thought-provoking ask. :)

Hi can we ask you nsfw headcanons for lance please?
Oh hell yea you can! I suppose since you asked kindly. 😉
*Note: This post is completely nsfw - as asked for - and is, therefore, descriptive and filthy and has lots of swears. There are absolutely no safe / non-descriptive parts through this, so don’t read if you’re uncomfortable with descriptive sexual situations or explicit language.
Also, I sort of inserted Guardienne into this - rather than leaving this without mention of a partner - for the sake of being able to describe things easier.
~Under the cut~
General nsfw for Lance:
To start off, Lance is likely quite large. He’s very tall and is probably very muscular (considering his profession) noticeably very muscular (thanks episode 4), and while that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s large, it’s clear that his genetics have left him gifted with height and a masculine body (broad shoulders, high cheekbones, etc.) so that likely translates to his manhood as well. He’s not the largest male to ever exist, but he’s certainly larger than average and is generously thick. He has one or two prominent veins that run jaggedly down his length, and leans slightly to the side when fully hardened. His grooming routine is very basic - just enough to keep from things being unmanageable down there - and is completely flexible if his partner would like him to shave or grow out a bit more.
Lance hasn’t had sex for nearly as long as he can clearly remember - and those memories are usually overwritten with nauseating whispers that remind him that that was during a time when he was naive and spiraling towards an inevitable downfall into madness and destruction against Eldarya - so the first time he experiences these kind, pleasurable touches again, when he’s stable and with a clear mind, it’s intense and he truly embraces the feel. He falls into her with a heat and passion that he’s long since forgotten, but has now been remembered and revived by her presence and want for this. However, once the first time is over - it’s over. It stays with him always, though - it was his first time with a woman in years and the first time since he’s righted himself.
His manner changes in time - but only to some degree. He’s less quickly taken by the pleasure and can hold out longer, and he finds that he really likes to torture her with long bouts of foreplay when he can finally manage to restrain himself for that. Of course, he needs to be in a certain mood to do that. It’s much more common for him to tease her until she’s moaning and wet for him, and then let himself indulge in her slick warmth until he loses himself in her. Those times where he tortures her with long, relentless forms of foreplay happen only when he knows he can hold out for hours watching her writhe and moan and pant beneath him, holding her down as sweat glosses her skin and her desperation leaves her begging for him.
That being said: sex becomes a major outlet for him. He’s a warrior, so it’s common for him to practice his fighting skills against other members of the Obsidian guard and release energy and emotions that way, but it’s not very intimate - he has a lot of future opportunities to practice his skills and it gets tiring to be constantly pummeled with attacks - and it does get a bit boring when you learn each and every colleague’s tactics and know so many tactics yourself that it’s not very hard to win. Late nights spent with his woman become cherished moments in between his routine life of fighting, trying to forgive himself, and making sure everyone is kept in check. There are times where he’s soft, gentle - tracing his fingers over her skin as he breathes in her scent and basks in her warmth and kind touch. He’ll take her slowly, keeping their lips locked in deep, passionate kisses while holding her close as he makes love to her. However, there are also times where he fucks to forget. Memories will come upon him - all bad and unwelcoming to the point where he nearly isolates himself for the day to attempt to hopelessly mend himself - or the day will be overly stressful with no feelings of hope, and he’ll take comfort in the pain that lashes across his back as she claws at him, or the way her lewd screams for him will drown out his own internal screams desperately wishing that things turned out differently. He’ll find himself fucking into her until he can’t possibly think of moving afterward - when he seeks to curl up into her arms and sleep away his troubles - and when she’s nearly crying from the erotic pleasure he drowns her in, he’ll be forgetting what it was like for him to have ever been in agony of any sort.
He doesn’t like that second form of sex very much. It’s enjoyable when they’re both in the mood to be rough and fuck each other up, but the mentality he’s in then versus when he fucks because he needs the distraction is very different. He enjoys rough sex on the occasion, but he hates sex that's used to forget and wear himself out - but he’s not sure of any other tactics that will ease him of that pain in the same way rough sex does.
Just as he enjoys rough sex (normal rough sex, not the desperate-to-forget type), he also enjoys softer forms of sex. After years upon years of doing nothing but fighting and suffering in pain, it’s nice to be able to embrace his partner with soft, kind touches as he presses into her - knowing that he could easily go for hours on end and countless rounds without growing tired of the passionate yet relaxed pace he sets. Her touch is gentle and welcoming, always pulling him closer and running over his form as she kisses him sweetly. Occasionally a thought, a comparison sparked from her gentleness, will run through his mind - a reminder that he’s agonized through so much in his fucked up life - but it’s quickly, easily dismissed as he recognizes that things are different now. He has her, and as he anchors his partner completely against him, grinding his hips against hers and filling her slowly again and again, his thoughts are washed away in another way - a subtle, quiet way that’s almost bittersweet until he no longer remembers what began to eat at him. Lance likes to truly embrace her in these soft moments; gently holding her thighs to keep her open for him, resting his forehead against hers and keeping affectionate eye contact, softly tracing the sensitive parts of her skin with a brush of his calloused fingers, pressing passionate, slow kisses to her lips and neck as he urges her to hold him closer. He’ll never once falter as he moves within her, wishing to portray through his touch what words could never say; wishing she could even begin to grasp just how much her companionship means to him.
Rough sex is typically used for him to forget, soft sex is used for him to truly love her.
In terms of where they have sex; he’s not afraid to be a bit adventurous. Although he feels most safe in their bedroom, sometimes the urge is just so overwhelming that he needs to have her in the middle of the day. So take her to their room and have his way with her? Nope, he's been fantasizing about taking her on the conference room table, so that's where it's going to happen if there's no one around. He’ll assess her first, making sure she’s not in a bad mood that could interfere with his advancements and cause a possible scene, and then drag her - subtly - to a secluded corner of the guard and have his way with her, be it on a table, against the wall, or even if he needs to hold her up without any other support - he’s a warrior, he has the strength to suspend her weight on his own. Lance will typically find a place where no one really visits to do this, but occasionally they’ll feel very risky and have a quick round in a currently quiet but semi-active place. Let’s just say that they’ll never view the forge or conference room in the same way... These times in semi-active places are usually pretty late at night, though - when Lance is working a late night at the forge or they know the conference room won’t be busy for a few hours... usually.
An important thing to know is that he sees sex in a very instinctual, carnal way. He’s deeply in tune with his emotions and - being a dragon - his instincts as well. For him, sex is a great way to connect with his partner and blow off steam, but he makes it clear early on that - while he can control himself and back off if she needs a moment to breathe - he can only control himself so much during the moment. Sex is emotional and instinctual; if she’s giving no signs of being uncomfortable then he’s just as much a victim of his overwhelming desires that submerge him in violent torrents of racking need in the same way he does to her. For this reason, their safe-words and touches (in the case where they can’t speak) are very clear and easy to recognize, so he can be quick to realize her distress and reign himself in to back off. The last thing Lance wants is to accidentally hurt her or make her uncomfortable about joining him in bed again - or being around him in general after seeing him in such a vulnerable, feral state - so before they get into anything too crazy he’s quick to communicate concerns with her and form ideas to assure nothing goes wrong.
Lance would never in a million years reveal his kinks... and Guardienne would be rendered speechless with her face the color of a sunset at a reminder of those nights. What kinks Lance is into that night depends on his mood really. Some days, when he’s feeling good - assertive and possessive - and he’ll advance on her confidently. He’ll pin her down on the bed, holding her wrists above her with one hand while the other evokes his powers to make the skin of his hand ice cold as it ghosts over her in specific ways that perk her senses. Lance may take a soft rope or fabric and tie her wrists or blindfold her - even better if it’s both - and purposefully leave her untouched for a certain amount of time. She’ll grow shy as she knows he’s admiring every part of her, but she won’t have long to think about it before he starts to touch her - the pad of his thumb brushing over her nipple before gently pinching, his other hand ghosting up her inner thigh to rest near her slit, his mouth trailing along her lower abdomen as he kisses lower and lower until his tongue laps at her. The air in the room will grow cold around her as she arches her back and moans, writhing softly against her restraints and his warm touch as the hand Lance rested on her thigh joins his ministrations directly between her legs. Later on, when he’s so deep inside her dripping warmth that his head spins, he’ll take her neck in hand and squeeze, ice blue eyes meeting her lustful gaze with a heat of his own as he fucks her and chokes her. He won’t mind if she claws haphazardly at him - he has scars already, what are a few more that were received during their passionate, late-night romps? Lance isn’t worried about if he’s too rough, either; he’s treated her way worse in the past and they’ve established a clear network of terms and touches if either of them need a break or can’t handle something at the moment.
He’ll enjoy dirty talk as well, whether it’s him or her speaking - although he really enjoys her responses to his comments. His voice will drop octaves lower, a rumbling rasp taking his voice as he speaks and says the most filthy things to her with a faint cruel grin. Some days she’s easily taken by pleasurable touches he inflicts on her, readily begging and pleading for him to appease her needs as she submits to him. Other days she’ll want a fight, responding to his commands with witty remarks - sparked only because she likes the way he looks at her when he’s defied - that urge him to growl and stare at her with burning eyes as he fantasizes her impending surrender. Occasionally those witty remarks - followed by more sensual pressuring from his end - turn into deals; she’ll do this, as he’s been demanding, as long as he allows her to do this to him afterwards. These agreements are nearly always accepted, only rejected in the rare case where Lance couldn’t possibly hold out that long for her to tease him in a certain way, but when they’re accepted they’ve always yielded tantalizing results.
Don’t even begin to tempt him with a good pair of lingerie, though. Sex, again, is a very instinctual, feral thing for him. He has a very hard time controlling his impulses when they’re evoked while his partner is around, especially in private, so when she purposefully tempts him - knowing very well how fragile his sexual self-control is - by sitting him down and stripping and waltzing around his room with nothing but thin, taunting underwear on he nearly loses himself completely. Guardienne knows to use caution when bearing lingerie - it has a heavy effect on Lance as it’s almost guaranteed to throw him into a fit of blind lust, picking her up and throwing her on the bed or pinning her against the wall to hold her still and stare down at her, burning the image into his mind before having his way with her. However, once in a while, Lance will sit obediently as she bears herself, only just faintly breathing as he watches her move in alluring, seductive ways that leave his cock aching and his skin shivering. He’ll wait patiently for her to come to him, but once she settles on his lap she’s fair game, and he’ll quickly take her under him to attack her. He makes a point not to tear the underwear though - he wants to see it again in the future.
He’s fine with nearly any position she wants at the moment, but he does have a few favorites. He loves missionary for a multitude of reasons; he can watch every expression that flits across her features, hear her lewd moans and pleads better (he doesn’t care if that makes her a bit louder than what he’s usually comfortable with), hold her in a variety of ways ranging from possessively / aggressively pinning her down, to tenderly / sensually laying completely against her, he can adjust her legs or entwine their fingers, and kiss her whenever he wishes (which is especially helpful if he feels she’s becoming loud enough to hear through the walls). Doggy is a favorite as well; it’s nice to rest his weight on her back as he grasps her hips and ruts into her, kissing and biting at the back of her neck and having the freedom to wrap his arms completely around her to pull her back into him. He’ll happily hold her up against a wall (or nothing at all) with her legs around his waist or suspended by his forearms, and will eagerly bend her over a table, or - if they’re truly desperate enough to revert to that sort of animalism - will take her right on the floor if they can find a comfortable position. Occasionally Guardienne will ride him, and while he’ll gladly take to controlling the situation from below, he’ll also enjoy being allowed to lay there watching and basking in the wonderful pleasure she inflicts on him.
He knows all of his partner’s sensitive spots; he’s explored her body many times over and purposely takes to memorizing (and testing) which spots make her tick for the sole sake of knowing how to rile her up whenever he wants. It took his partner a bit longer to learn his sensitive spots, but through the deals they’ve made she’s managed to hold him down long enough to discover these gems (yes, she’s had Lance tied up helpless in front of her multiple times to discover this stuff, it’s a sight to behold.) Of course there are the typical sensitive spots like the neck, lips, pelvis, etc., but she’s found a few other specifics in time. Pulling at his hair, gently biting the muscle just behind and below his ear, nipping at his ear, and digging her nails into the lower back of his neck are a few spots that have been discovered over time, bound to draw a rough grunt or a growl from him as he grips her hips or jerks aggressively against his bindings. Clawing at his lower back when she’s under him, especially paired with clinging tightly to him, provokes an assertive quality within that leads him to hold his hips against tightly hers and anchor his upper body around her as he moves within her core without breaking away from her. When she rides him, pressing her hands into the muscles of his lower abdomen while her hips roll rhythmically against his spurs him to arch his back just slightly in an attempt to lift his hips from the bed, beautifully tensing his body in response to her surging movements as he grunts and heaves a breath.
In the end, it matters less on what and where his sensitive spots are, and more on how she uses it to her advantage. His partner will have the most unrestricted access to these spots when his wrists are tied and immovable from above his head - although she doesn’t really like to blindfold him as she can’t see his burning, icy eyes as they lock onto her or flick closed in moments of ecstasy - and they’ve learned in time that they need to use soft rope or chains to keep him bound. Any thinner material and the hold will snap under his strength as he loses himself to the occasional struggle against his restrains, seeking in the moment only to escape and throw her under him so he can have his way with her. The first time they realized this was a rather surprising but thrilling experience... However, when they finally manage to find a material that can withstand his strength, his partner will be the one who needs to hold back on her desires for a while now - for the sake of watching how Lance’s scarred, tanned skin tightens around hard muscles as he groans and pants under her teasing ministrations. Faint beads of sweat will accumulate on his skin, casting a beautiful sheen over him while she kisses and nips at his skin, one delicate hand braced on his lower abdomen while the other brushes along his strong hips, touching anywhere but his hardened, twitching cock as pre-cum wells at the tip. All of the teasing of his sensitive spots are just foreplay up until the point where she finally moves lower, settling down at his hips to take his length into her mouth, dragging her tongue along him and sucking at his head as he growls, snarls, and pulls against his restrains until she’s finally waited enough and leans over him to sink down onto his thickness with a moan. His muscles will ripple under gleaming skin as he fights the clattering restraints again, his partner pulling the hair at the nape of his neck while sucking and nibbling at his upper neck as he grunts husky, cavernous moans. Much of the time she’ll need to make sure he isn’t accidentally pulling himself higher on the bed as he flexes his arms - this is usually solved by anchoring her weight onto his lower abdomen or hips - as he certainly has the strength to do so with ease, and she’ll need to brace herself when she finally releases him from his restrains; he’ll grasp her without mercy and throw his weight on top of her to pin her down and fuck into her at a breathtaking pace - and this is also how she found out that digging her nails into his lower back reinforces his dominating behavior.
This leads to his manner in bed. Lance is quite adaptable with how he treats her - always assuring that she’s enjoying, of course - and his spectrum can range from being a gentleman and taking her softly and quietly to gripping at her ruthlessly and fucking her so hard it’s a miracle that the bed doesn’t break and neighbors don’t complain. The nature of their sex depends on both their moods - if they’re both feeling content and affectionate then that’ll likely translate into tender, slow touches that glide warmly along their skin, passionate kisses and soft moans as they embrace not just a bonding between their physical forms, but also a bonding on a deeper level of their existence. In the times where they’re feeling frisky and searching for a challenge, they’ll wrestle on the bed - fighting for dominance of the situation with tantalizing touches and sultry words - until Lance inevitably pins her down permanently. From this point, he’ll either torture her with pleasurably agonizing touches or she’ll strike a deal with him, agreeing to let her have control if these certain demands are met at some point. However, sometimes they don’t even need to make a deal - Lance is completely fine with being the one writhing beneath her for a change some days, all she needs to do is ask.
Just as Lance enjoys seeing his partner gasping helplessly beneath him, he also enjoys nights where their roles are reversed. He’s completely fine being bound, choked, bitten and clawed at - hell, sometimes he urges her to do so - enjoying seeing her submit to her desires and also because he enjoys the way he loses himself in his instincts as he growls, fights restraints, and grows lightheaded as pleasure overwhelms him. He views sex as an instinctual thing, but he doesn’t always let himself succumb completely to his desires as he knows it may be too overwhelming for her sometimes, so instead of exhausting her whenever he seeks to lose control, he let’s himself be bound so he can submit to his impulses as much as he wants while drawing their appetite out and giving her the satisfaction of the control as she watches him lose himself. His partner learns in time, too, that she can be as rough as she wants with him - especially when he truly succumbs to his carnal instincts - even to the point of drawing blood and leaving scars; he’s a powerful warrior, familiar with pain as it is, and isn’t afraid to incorporate that into his sex life if she’s in the mood to include it.
Lance is very versatile - he can be rough and demanding or soft and affectionate, but he’ll always portray himself in a very feral manner, whether he wants to or not. Due to this, sleeping with him isn’t for the faint of heart. This man would happily drown himself in a full, long night of overwhelming ecstasy with his partner, so she’ll need to be prepared for that possibility by having in-depth knowledge of his weak spots and what makes him tick if she wishes to survive the night and still walk in the morning. Fortunately, once she learns how he works, she shouldn’t have much of an issue in spending long nights with him - but she will need to remain cautious; the more she uses these pleasing tactics, the more he loses himself to his demanding instincts that tell him to pin her down and fuck her until the sun rises. Like that time where they found out that a mere thin cloth wouldn’t bind him; if she’s not careful she could find herself suddenly, unexpectedly beneath a passionately simmering dragon. Although, those times where he accidentally gains the upper hand in a fit of carnal aggression do seem to be much more thrilling and rewarding than when they expected him to be the dominant one...
I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of writing nsfw for Lance lol. I tried to cover a lot of different topics, but there’s certainly more that could be talked about, so I’m happy to do a part 2 if anyone wants to request it.
Thank you for requesting!

I had always assumed the proposal scene happened in the relatively immediate aftermath of the Galaxy Cauldron, too! But then I was like, WAIT, she was pregnant during their wedding, which means she has to be ~21, and I guess the proposal could have been years earlier, theoretically it's possible that they were engaged just after Chaos' defeat, but it definitely read to me like this was a time-skip. I was thinking about the timeline thing and two things occurred to me: 1. The timeline can be changed, because the bodies of people from the future start to fade when things happen in the past. Crystal Tokyo's Soldiers start fading and, when Galaxia pushes Mamoru into the Galaxy Cauldron, Chibi-Usa's body fades away in front of Usagi:
The events aren't written in stone, if something happens in the past, the future that Chibi-Usa came from can be changed. Also Neo-Queen Serenity is unsure of Diana's success after sending her into the past to complete her mission and Artemis and Luna's bodies start disappearing, which says she doesn't know what happened already, so it either has to be separate timelines or the timeline getting rewritten. I tend towards rewritten, because Chibi-Usa disappearing when things happen in this timeline says to me that this is her past, not a separate timeline from her past. (This is interesting to apply to Artemis and Luna as well, given that they definitely existed in the original future, but we never see them for sure alive again after they die in Stars, either in the present or the future--I'm on the fence about whether Naoko intended that, left it a mystery, or meant to say, yeah, the timeline was overwritten and they died.) 2. Whatever else Sailor Cosmos is, she comes from the future and traveled back to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron so that she wouldn't have to face all the fighting against the agents of Chaos--which is overwriting the timeline, too:
But if all this isn't meant to be timeline overwriting--because I love the worldbuilding, but I don't think Naoko ever meant for it to be hard fantasy/scifi worldbuilding lol so she may have definitely been handwaving some stuff--I do really like your idea that their memories become hazy because of Timeline Shenanigans, that absolutely feels like something the series would do. .....and then I had to drag out all my manga volumes as well to reread because I got curious and King Endymion says:
It's initially just the people of Crystal Tokyo that have their lives extended, but it's later in the 30th Century that everyone on Earth has their lives extended as well--which makes me wonder, I'm pretty sure I remember somewhere saying that Neo-Queen Serenity was queen of all of the Earth, but now I'm wondering precisely where that was said, if at all. So maybe it's that they decide to build Crystal Tokyo and people just. Decide to join because it looks really cool, the Queen can literally heal the Earth (like she did in the Dark Kingdom arc), and people's lives are being extended if you're around her and her crystal. I also headcanon that knowledge of Elysion eventually got out and Mamoru's connection to the Earth/being Sailor Earth made them a lot more willing to join Endymion and Serenity's kingdom as well. And I know that, same as the Soldiers' fukus just not being designed yet, so they don't have their Eternal outfits, Endymion not having the Golden Crystal is just that the story hadn't gotten there yet, but I do think it could be really interesting to view it in the sense of the timeline shifting, as the present day powers up--like a threat like Death Phantom doesn't seem like it would phase Eternal Sailor Moon, but it seemed like a struggle for Neo-Queen Serenity at the time--is Neo-Queen Serenity getting more powerful as current day Usagi gets more powerful, too?
A question that has been itching at me for awhile now: Is Chibi-Usa ever called "Tsukino Chibi-Usa" in the anime or the manga? Because I honestly cannot think of a time where she was--and she's "Usagi" or "Small Lady" or the full "Usagi Small Lady Serenity" in the future, for memory? "Tsukino Chibi-Usa" is a reasonable conclusion while she's staying with the Tsukino family, but I don't think I ever recall actually seeing it?? But maybe I'm just forgetting it?? And, if we're talking post-manga/after Mamoru and Usagi are married when she's first born, "Chiba Usagi" might make sense depending on how quickly Usagi and Mamoru became Neo-Qeen Serenity and King Endymion or if she was always just "Usagi Small Lady Serenity". But was she actually called any of those things at any point? I'M ITCHING TO KNOW.

Not-very-serious-headcanon: most people assume that Light's hellish scream at the moment where he regains his memories is "good Light" personality screaming in horror as it is being overwritten/replaced by "evil Light" personality. However, I think that "evil Light" had taken over instantly, and the screaming was his intensive cringe at learning that "good Light" geniunely wanted to work together with L and, o horror, was a loving boyfriend for Misa!
Hi Anon! Thanks for the ask! I personally don’t care for the headcanon that ‘good’ and ‘evil’ versions of Light just go back forth like a switch. Oh, he’s a cinnamon roll now! Uh oh now he’s a [sociopath/psychopath/insert armchair diagnosis] now! To me, it’s always the same Light, the only thing that comes and goes is his knowledge of possessing the power of the Death Note. That’s really it. One of the points of DN (to me) is that literally anyone holds the potential to be Kira within them when that power drops on their heads, even admirable honors students with everything to lose. It’s an uncomfortable truth about power that we don’t like to think about (and most fans would like to believe they wouldn’t be like Light) but has been demonstrated again and again in the real world. The real misfortune of having a Death Note is having to make the choice between doing nothing and doing something with it— it’s a lose-lose situation for the human.
ANYWAY. As for why he screamed? My interpretation from the manga panel itself is that it’s an incredibly overwhelming experience to suddenly get a HUGE chunk of very emotionally-laden memories back all at once. Obata took great pains to illustrate this— he could have spread out the process over a few panels but instead he crammed literally everything Kira had done to that point into one picture. Keeping in mind this is an unnatural process (made possible by shinigami magic) and completely alters his present situation to a very striking degree, it would have been off-base if Obata had just illustrated Light as calmly remembering.
I’m not sure if Yotsuba!Light actually wanted to work with L or be a good boyfriend to Misa. Actually, scratch that, I’m pretty sure he didn’t on either account. He worked with L out of necessity to clear his (he believed) innocence but it was very unpleasant. As for Misa, her persistence at that time was pretty baffling to him and made him uncomfortable in multiple Yotsuba arc scenes. I suppose you’re referring to when Light tells L he refuses to pretend to like Misa in order to trap her as the second Kira, that he disapproves of ‘using’ people like that. The thing is— Kira!Light didn’t set out to use Misa either. She put him in that position by threatening his life (and any other girls he dated), and she insinuated herself into his life and plans by force. She became a useful ally/tool to him but just like how Yotsuba!Light wouldn’t have initiated that, neither would have Kira!Light.

hi!!! could you maybe recommend me some books/sources of information on how jedi order works?? wookieepedia is a little overwhelming to me lmao, and i kinda wanted to plan a fic about crèche master anakin, but that requires a lot of information about how raising younglings and clans work, more than i know at the moment!! thank you!
Hi! I have a meta guide for everything we know about the Jedi in canon here: Taking a Closer Look at the Jedi Order in Star Wars Canon [Meta/Reference Guide] You’ll find the most in chapters 3 and 4, which is really only a handful of mentions about the creche (you can just ctrl+F for mentions, if you want)--the problem is that there really isn’t any book or source of information on how the Jedi Order works. This area of worldbuilding has really been done almost nothing with it, especially because there are two separate continuities, where you have Canon and you have Legends. Legends probably has more details, but it’s always been non-canon to George Lucas’ Star Wars and so it really just kind of did its own thing (which often led to some amazing stories! Legends is a continuity that has a ton of value and meaning to people! but it also often contradicted what the Jedi were actually like because much of it was created pre-Attack of the Clones, so there weren’t even the three main movies out yet, much less The Clone Wars being out), which means you’re absolutely free to use it, but be wary of how it’s not always consistent. There’s not really even a source of information on what the Force feels like or how it works, aside from the interviews George Lucas has given on these things, which likely informs how canon attempts to treat these things, as they’ve said they’re trying to stay true to his themes now (for example--Legends often had “grey Force users” being stable, but canon now works according to George’s statements of how that’s not possible, the dark side corrupts, you have to actively resist it or you’ll fall to it), because not much worldbuilding has been done on this aspect of them. Instead, you have to piece together what we get in bits and bobs in the canon, which is what I’ve done with the above. If you want, you can read stuff like the Jedi Apprentice books, but they’re pretty firmly not canon anymore (like they had an age limit of 13, which has been overwritten by canon, where Ahsoka was 14 when she became a Padawan, there was a youngling in Dooku: Jedi Lost who was 16 and indicated they’d have to wait another year, there was no indication of impending age limit, even in Legends there was a book that had a 17 year old initiate who would have to keep trying) and so, again, you’re pretty free to make up whatever you like about the way Jedi creches work. The few things we do know, as mentioned in the above link: - On arrival at the Temple, Initiates are sorted into clans to help them foster trust and kinship. [Dooku: Jedi Lost] - When a Jedi youngling becomes a Padawan, they seem to go from the creche to partnering with their Master, though, first there are conversations with the crechemaster and the Master at some point: Obi-Wan said, “You know, I never had problems with that as a youngling. Being independent, I mean. I broke rules right and left. They even called me rebellious. Probably the Masters were surprised anyone was willing to take me on as an apprentice.” In fact, Qui-Gon had been warned about this very thing. He’d long since assumed that the crèche masters’ concern was overcautious. [Master and Apprentice] - Yaddle spends at least some time in the creche, whether regularly or they have rotating ones, is anyone’s guess, but she was there when Qui-Gon was a youngling: “Only yesterday, Dooku had chosen [Qui-Gon] as Padawan. He’d spent his last night in the younglings’ crèche laughing with his friends, imagining all the adventures he would have, and practicing with his lightsaber in the sparring room until Master Yaddle ordered him to bed.“ [Master and Apprentice] - They teach the younglings about the Force there: “Qui-Gon whispered, “The dark side?” He knew it was a thing all beings carried within them, a part of himself he would learn to guard against—the crèche masters had taught him all that. But it still sounded a little like some kind of ghost or monster, a mysterious thing that would leap out from the shadows to get you when you weren’t looking.” [Master and Apprentice], which is a direct echo of George Lucas explaining the Force: “ Only way to overcome the dark side is through discipline. The dark side is pleasure, biological and temporary and easy to achieve. The light side is joy, everlasting and difficult to achieve.” (George Lucas, Clone Wars writers meeting) - These bonds do seem to be significant, to at the very least some degree, as Obi-Wan thinks of his “creche-mate” even when he’s 17, indicating that possibly they’re often lifelong friends: Obi-Wan’s crèche-mate Prie, for instance, had been partnered with a Master who was expert in two things [....] [Master and Apprentice] - The younglings in the creche seem to sleep near each other (I have a personal headcanon that they sleep in piles, all cuddled up with each other, because Space Psychics) because they seem to often gossip with each other night by candle droid: In Dooku: Jedi Lost there is a gossip story passed around about a possibly expelled Padawan long ago, one that keeps getting passed around by Initiates telling stories by glow lanterns at night, which indicates that it’s considered juicy enough/surprising enough that it doesn’t seem to happen much/if at all. - We do see Yoda and Tera Sinube teaching classes of younglings as well, so they’re probably familiar to almost every youngling who passes through the creches. Whether these classes are based on the younglings’ clans or if they’re randomized, we have no idea, though. I’m assuming that at least some of them were based on clans, because we see Yoda teaching Bear Clan in Attack of the Clones, which also gives us an indication of the size of them--probably somewhere between four and eight.
We also see in Dooku: Jedi Lost that Dooku was part of the Hawk-Bat Clan, which often did things together, that Dooku spent time with Thranta Clan, while Tera Sinube spent more time with Heliost Clan. It’s probably reasonable to assume that the Jedi younglings from “The Gathering” are a clan as well, showing that they do things together fairly often:
Though, we see two other younglings there and Ganodi doesn’t seem to be part of the group, assuming that that’s Gungi, Byph, Petro, and Zatt with her. But we do see Tera Sinube spending time with them here and again later, when they’re practicing with their lightsabers:
Though, again, we see more than just that one clan--unless the two other younglings are part of their clan and just weren’t on that specific trip to Ilum with the others? Entirely possible there, too. But that’s it, that’s all we know. Anything else isn’t canon/never really was and can be fun to use, but I often find it doesn’t really fit well with what we’re shown in The Clone Wars or with George’s themes for SW. I think it makes sense, though, that it works like a communal society, where there are crechemasters who look after the children in their little mini-family clans, helping shepherd them to their classes, who shoo the children to bed at night and take care of them, talk with them about the things they need to know, work to help ease the transition when they become apprentices, etc. (As a note: If you’re reading Wookieepedia, even on the canon pages, they’ll reference The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force sometimes, but be wary, as that book is very firmly not canon. Elements of it may be recanonized, but only what appears in books like Dooku: Jedi Lost, Master and Apprentice, Choose Your Destiny: Obi-Wan & Anakin, Age of the Republic: Obi-Wan Kenobi, etc. are actually canon.)
