with your outfit drawings for the mystreet character. im so curious about with vylad having outfits for s2-s6, if you want can you expand upon on that?
I WOULD LOVE TOO >:3c
Long and Short of it is I've always hated how Vylad was there in Mystreet S1, PDH S1 and then he just... dropped off the face of the earth after that. It always irked me a bit when it would show Garroth and Zane having brotherly bonding moments (and trauma) and always having the thought of (Man wasn't there a third brother in all this?) there in the back of my mind.
I'm now going to do some little bullet points of my Vylads role in S2-6 but this is a great time to mention I've never seen past S4 so I'm running on Wiki Lore and the gospel of AO3 and @catzgam3rz; who collaborates (Read: Infodump and Ramble) on a hypothetical rewrite with me so it gets vague and murky for the later seasons.
S1:
Basically the same as canon (as in S1 is kinda just slice of life) but instead of Vylad just travelling around the world he is an off the grid hunter that wanders the wilderness all the time (The freak)
This is based on my very fuzzy memories of MCD Vylad always kinda just being in trees as he watched Lady Aphmau in the early seasons so I just put Mystreet Vylad in trees for fun this time
Has a vaguely similar relationship to his brothers as in MCD. in the sense it's better with Garroth and more strained with Zane
S2:
Goes to LLP with the rest of the main cast (which consists of the 11 big designs I made) because season 2 is not when you should be writing out characters Jessica
He wears little rainboots and unlike Laurance (Who FYI wears cowboy boots a majority of the time) the rest of the cast did not get him into flip flops before he went trudging into the ocean (again a freak)
I like to imagine that if any drama is going on in the story you could always see him floating around on an inner tube off in the distance
S3:
Again back to slice of life so he does a lot of shenanigans with the cast here
This is the season where the shadow knights feature but for the life of me, I cannot remember if Vylad was officially a part of them or not (And his Wikia is not even a paragraph~) But if it turns out he was there'll probably be more shenanigans around that.
He ends up leaving mid-season (Fall ish?) to go on a hunting expedition
S4:
Oh hey look Vylad is back because we don't believe in writing characters off with little rhyme or reason Jessica
Vylads hunting expedition ends up being in the same area as the lodge. and we all know nothing bad happens there!
there's now a little ski village downhill from the lodge which is where Vylad is staying at seasons start. He's good friends with a lot of the people there.
He's a werewolf now... Don't worry about it!
Oh, what's this? Is that relationship building between him and Zane on the horizon? Well, that won't hurt at all, will it?
AY:
A not-alone buddy comforts his not-alone buddy (I do not know much about Aphmau's Year but know it's short so that's all I got)
S5:
As he is a part of the Lodge crew he gets to go to Starlight!
Possibly is involved in a certain shenanigan with his brothers I'll be posting a comic about that in a few days
Get's lost constantly. Figures Starlight being an island means he can't really get lost since he'll hit ocean eventually and refuses to acknowledge how big said island is.
Doesn't float around like in S2 but you can still find him wading on the shore in his boots
being a hyperattentive freak, he get's some bad vibes from the island sooner than most
S6
Gonna be honest, me and Catz have not watched all of When angels fall but are planning to soon so I'll just leave you with the fun fact that all of my season 6 designs are supposed echo my MCD's designs for the characters (Since S6 is when it was decided hey maybe Diaries is really important here now)
TLDR: Vylad was shafted in Mystreet so I'm fix it

I have been telling my friends that season 7 is a bridge. Also, that Tim had a plan and as he wasn’t in the last 2, the story isn’t as he planned so he spent the whole season taking the characters there. Meaning healing from last trauma to add new traumas and building the foundations for the next season, foundations he thought were going to be build.
For example:
- Chim and Maddie fostering Mara is the bridge to Maddie and Chim having another child, maybe adopting this time.
- Hen and Karen will adopt Mara, and I’m not quite sure about the next step because I’m thinking about Captain Hen but I don’t think it’ll happen in the next season.
- Bi Buck we know what bridge that is even if some people don’t want to accept it.
- Eddie, being bad written, is the bridge to prioritising and putting himself first for them establishing boundaries with his parents. (Kind of Buck did). Also, to discover himself and what he really wants. Healing.
- Bobby to realise he’s a hero and that his works wasn’t over, especially now that Gerrard is back.
- Athena hasn’t been a proper cop this season and both times (Harry incident and whatever the fuck was the Amir thing) she has used her power so I think something will happen there that’ll make her stop and think.
The reason why the wasn’t room for development is because for some stories, it was the end (Chim being traumatised in his wedding by Doug) and for other stories it was the beginning (the whole episode 7x10)
i'm sorry, i don't want to sound like i'm being dismissive of your opinion because you're entitled to it, but i don't agree with any of this. to start with, it's too bad that tim couldn't tell the story he wanted to after s4, but that's not an excuse for him to come back two seasons later, throw a temper tantrum and ignore everything that's happened since that isn't convenient for him. lol. as for the rest, let's break it down:
this sets up for maddie and chim having another child...except we don't actually KNOW how THEY feel about it. they've never talked about having more kids, let alone fostering. we never saw any of this from their POV, we were just up and told that they wanted to do it for henren. which is a beautiful thing for them to do, but we don't know what they feel about it, if they've considered the logistics of having a second child, about jee having a sibling—none of it!
my issue with henren this season was that they recycled the plot of them having trouble with expanding their family for, what, the...third time? it's so tired and feels like misery porn at this point (and let's not even get into the uncomfortable racial elements around the way mara was written in 7x05).
something as monumental as the bi!buck arc should have been explored better. sorry. aside from his conversation with maddie, we barely got to see buck do any kind of serious self-reflection about this major part of his identity and his relationship with tommy, has, well. it's just been written in a very strange and off-putting way post 7x05. sorry to say.
whatever happened with eddie is really not the way to get him to prioritize himself! think about it. for the first time he prioritized his own grief in trying to get catharsis with kim. and it backfired on him spectacularly. he hurt his kid. he lost christopher. i don't think he's ever gonna recover from this guilt. if anything, what's happened will only reinforce his belief that he should never prioritize himself, ever. the thing with kim didn't lead to any kind of healing, it made everything a million times worse. he was quite literally punished by the narrative for his grief and it's quite sickening. and given how things were handled this season i highly doubt it will be treated with any kind of nuance or care in the next.
this has not been the first time athena has abused her power—only the most egregious instance of it—and it won't be the last. if abusing her power in s1 and harassing a teenage girl then didn't get her to stop and think, i don't think this will. sorry.
my entire point, is that most of the things you've mentioned here was incredibly last minute. madney fostering mara. the eddie/kim plotline. eddie's conflict with chris. the bobby and amir plotline. everything in 7x10 felt like an afterthought. why is it that bobby's life was in serious danger and yet we barely saw anything of him? why didn't we get to see more the firefam being worried over him and holding vigil? how is it that eddie and chris didn't even have a single conversation before chris went away to a different state?
you don't use all ten episodes of a season just to set up new plot points for the rest without developing or concluding the stuff already going on in a meaningful manner that makes sense. sorry.

I like how WestAllen ended in the Flash with Nora's birth. The part where they're holding hands right before her birth and yellow and purple lightning zaps between them is done really well... Now, I don't particularly ship SnowBarry, but I do find the idea cute sometimes because of the Frost sisters, and how well done the writers wrote her scripts. I'm gonna disregard the whole Khione thing in my comparison of both ships which is canon WestAllen and AU SnowBarry from my perspective.
In a SnowBarry AU, Caitlin would be Barry’s “lightning rod”.
Barry would've been married to OG Caitlin (if you know what I mean) by the time they split in S6. At least following the timeline of how WestAllen generally progressed throughout the show. Like, as in, Barry's proposal of "Running Home to You" would be directed towards Caitlin instead of Iris in S3, SnowBarry marriage in S4, etc etc... Maybe it would be Caitlin SnowAllen if they decide to hyphenate?
Anyways, AU SnowBarry or canon WestAllen, I do wish they gave Caitlin/Frost more screentime especially after they split in S6. I would take the Frost sisters in a heartbeat instead of Cecile or Allegra.
S2 Barry and Jay would be “fighting” over Caitlin lol. Or maybe not. But he would be hella protective when Zoom kidnaps her.
In S3, Caitlin turned Killer Frost does end up working with Savitar.. imagine just how desperate Barry would be to keep her from going all "Frosty" because Caitlin is his fiancee, just as desperate as he was with trying to save Iris from Savitar in canon. I think instead of the focus on Iris, a majority of SnowBarry AU’s base plot line would include Barry trying to save Caitlin from her evil self? Like in that one episode where he spoke to Frost, and allowed her to try to kill him because he knows she’s still Caitlin deep down. OR it could be both: Savitar’s tryna kill her because she’s Barry’s “lightning rod” in this SnowBarry AU instead of them joining up.
Let’s say Barry still goes into the Speedforce in this SnowBary AU. Her heartbreak would be another catalyst/reason as to why Caitlin turned into her Frosty self between S3 and S4 to work for Amunet. In canon 4x01, Killer Frost does come back to the team as Caitlin to help Barry come out of the Speedforce so don't gotta "AU" that part. I know they "balanced out" the whole Caitlin/Frost thing in S4, and that was awesome to watch.
Loved the cuteness where “Caity” and Frost would communicate with each other in little sticky notes. Since Barry and Caitlin would be married by that time, maybe Frost writes sticky notes to Barry too?
Moving onto S5.. How would it go with Caitlin raising Nora alone in the future? Caitlin is a geneticist/doctor whereas Iris is a news reporter.. I think with Caitlin’s doctor/biochemist, I don't think she'd put a power dampening chip inside Nora. Nora would have Frost (split or not) to protect/guide her as well as the rest of the team. Maybe in SnowBarry S5, Nora would've grown up knowing that her father is the Flash from the start. 5x18 would've shown Caitlin and Nora having a better mother-daughter relationship than 5x18 canon Iris and Nora. Would she still go to Thawne then? Maybe so because of godspeed and he’s the only other speedster around and then after what happened to Lia? Maybe so.
Since Nora still wouldn’t have ever met Barry, Thawne could’ve still manipulated her with the whole Cicada dagger thing so she travels back in time. One thing for sure: she wouldn’t be all pissy towards Iris lol. But my poor girl Nora would’ve still vanished in S5 finale :(
When Caitlin splits in S6, imagine how happy Frost would be have her own body, but also to be there to support SnowBarry marriage in person, and be able to interact with both Barry and Caitlin at the same time. Speaking of the Frost sisters, what would Nora call Frost? Aunt Frost? Something like that?
Yep, Caitlin and Frost never dies in this particular SnowBarry AU. It was the only stupid thing the writers did for her character.
#cw the flash#the flash#caitlin snow#barry allen#iris west#iris westallen#caitlin snowallen then i guess#nora snowallen??#snowbarry#westallen#snowbarry au#i guess this is an au of an au lol#because im ignoring the fact that frost died and khione exists#may sound like i ship snowbarry in this post#but honestly#you can have multiple ships#ive seen people ship barrisco and coldflash plus westallen#i guess snowbarry just fascinates me a lot#i found this one “snowbarry-ed” s5 fanfic on ao3#while searching for barry fics#I’ll try to see if I can find the fic again#bc SnowBarry-ing S5 is too complex for my brain#calling them the Frost sisters bc someone gave me the idea#eli speaks

Best Part of the Day
Prompt Day 17: Platonic Stobin | Word Count: 1000 | Rating: T | CW: None | Tags: S4, Platonic Stobin, Ride to School, Pre-Steddie
Steve honks the horn, and sips from his mug of coffee. It won't fit in his cup holder, so he has to rest it on his thigh. He honks again, and a minute later Robin rushes out of the front door of her house, towards his waiting car.
Arms flailing, she screams, "Hold on, I'm coming!"
It makes Steve chuckle. She's the one about to be late to school, not him. He's graduated. Family Video doesn't open for another two plus hours. He's got plenty of time to kill this morning, but he knows she doesn't want the tardy. He knows her like the back of his hand. The front of his hand?
His whole hand. For sure.
Robin fumbles with the trunk, and he watches as she unlocks it. It was just easier to give her the damn spare key instead of him having to get out every morning and unlock it.
She finally piles into the front seat, with a huff, "What are we waiting for? You're gonna make me late, dingus!"
He rolls his eyes.
"Good morning to you, too," he says, handing her his mug of coffee. He might as well. She's gonna take it from him, sooner or later. She always does. He opens the console, and hands her the bagel that he's wrapped in a paper towel, before leaning to look back over his shoulder, reversing them back onto the street.
He glances at her out of the corner of his eye, and she's alternating between drinking coffee, and eating the bagel. Getting sesame seeds all over the floor mat. He'll have to stop by the car wash and vacuum it after he drops her off.
"There's an away game tonight," she says, done with the bagel, and now holding his coffee in one hand, putting her mascara on with the other. He watches, not sure how she's doing it one-handed.
"Yeah, the kids have told me a thousand times, like I've somehow suddenly forgotten how a basketball schedule works since graduating," Steve says, annoyed.
"I have to ride the activity bus to the game, but if you can forge me a note again, I'll ride home with you. Dibs on the front seat," she says.
Steve laughs. He's been roped into taking Dustin, Mike and Max, and Dustin's gonna hate that she's called dibs, but fair is fair. Dustin can have the front seat on the way to Hartford City.
They head down the highway, and Robin tells him about her morning. He nods, listens, and analyzes more about Vickie than he ever imagined possible. It's a ritual at this point. She pines. He gives advice she won't take.
They argue. They banter.
Rinse, repeat.
Day after day, morning after morning.
But it's often the best part of his day.
He's trying to explain exactly why she should just go for it, when Steve catches movement out of the corner of his eye, and realizes they're about to be broadsided by a van, that as far as Steve can tell, has no driver.
Steve slams on the brakes, stopping short as the van whips onto the highway from a side road, cutting him off. The driver's head just barely popping into view, mere seconds before he needed to make the turn.
"Watch it, asshole!" Steve screams, slamming his hand on the steering wheel.
"Uh, Steve?" Robin says, and he turns to look at her, and she's wearing the coffee. Brown splotches staining her white blouse, running all over his leather seats.
"Are you hurt? Did you get burned?" he asks, patting her arm down, like that'll help.
"Well, it doesn't feel great! But I think I'll live," she says. "But I don't have time to go back home and change, I'm going to be so late. Detention for me, yay," she says sarcastically.
"Take off your shirt," Steve says, and she cuts him a look, "Not like that, Jesus, Robin. I don't want to see your boobies."
He snaps his fingers, and gives her the hurry up motion.
So, she does, and he takes off his shirt, too, and stretches his hand out to offer it to her. She takes it, and slips it over her head. It's too big, but she says she doesn't care, because that's the style, apparently.
"Thanks, dingus," she says, and he slides his arms back through the holes of his vest. No shirt underneath. He looks ridiculous.
At the school, they both get out, and Robin digs out her notepad, and turns around. Steve lays the notebook on her back, and writes the note, forging Mrs. Buckley's signature to get Robin off the activity bus on the way home.
"There, done," he says, swatting her on the back with the notebook, and she takes it and rushes towards the building, turning back towards him.
"Thanks, Steve! See you tonight!" she yells and then she turns and runs away from the parking lot faster.
"Yeah, yeah," he mutters, but he smiles as she goes.
"Nice fashion statement, Harrington," Eddie Munson interrupts, as he climbs out of the same goddamn van that caused this whole problem in the first place. He should have known Eddie "The Freak" Munson was involved.
Steve looks down at his bare chest.
"Well, I had a shirt until you cut us off and Robin spilled coffee all over herself," Steve snaps.
"I don't know what you're talking about, that doesn't sound like me at all. I'm a great driver," Eddie says, digging around and coming up with a black, metal lunchbox.
His drugs. Steve knows all about Eddie, and his dealing business.
"Yeah, sure you are," Steve snips, turning to get into the driver's seat. He has no interest in engaging with Eddie Munson at ten 'til eight in the morning. No goddamn way.
"Nice to see you, King Steve," Eddie snarks, walking awfully slowly towards the school for someone that nearly ran them off the road to get here today.
What a dickhead.
Notes: Eddie definitely saw Steve in that no-shirt/vest combo and when presented with the opportunity to see it again in the Upside Down, and in his own vest no less, he took it, lol.

Carlos PTSD fic as promised. *S4 spoilers*
-Set right after Carlos is held hostage and almost killed in S4E4 "Abandoned"-
"Hey baby," T.K. said as he stepped inside their loft.
Carlos, who was sitting on one end of the couch, gave T.K. a forced smile, but didn't respond.
"How are you?" T.K. asked, even though he already knew the answer. Carlos shrugged.
Sighing, T.K. took off his coat and his shoes, setting his bag down on the floor before joining Carlos on the couch. Carlos was staring down at his lap, looking small somehow.
"Hey," T.K. said, ducking his head to try and meet his lovers eyes. When he was unsuccessful, he reached out to touch Carlos's cheek, gently turning his face toward his own.
"Hey," Carlos whispered back, eyes were wet with unshed tears.
"Oh baby," T.K. sighed, his heart hurting, "Rough day?" he asked.
"No. That's the stupid thing," Carlos said, turning away from T.K. The tears had started to slip down his cheeks, but he sounded frustrated.
"What do you mean baby?" T.K. asked, confused.
"I had a good day. I took a walk and ate two whole meals and did some laundry. Like a normal person. But then it got dark and you were just a little bit late and now I'm fucking crying," Carlos explained, letting out a sound that was something between a forced laugh and a sob.
"You can have good days that aren't all good," T.K. told him, taking one of Carlos's hands in his.
"I just feel so stupid," Carlos said, swiping angrily at the tears on his face.
"Hey," T.K. said softly, "Be kind to yourself. Recovery isn't linear, and it looks different for everyone. You are entitled to feel however it is you feel whenever you feel it," he continued.
Carlos sighed, slumping back into the corner of the couch. He looked so small again, all of the anger and frustration seeming to have left him, replaced by exhaustion.
"Why don't we go to bed?" T.K. suggested, feeling pretty tired himself after a long day on shift.
But this was apparently the wrong thing to say as Carlos sucked in a breath, his eyes going wide as he gripped T.K.'s hand more tightly.
"Okay, hey, it's alright. We'll just put on a movie and lay down out here okay?" T.K. amended.
Carlos nodded, relaxing again. He shifted to let T.K. squeeze in behind him then maneuver them so they were both laying down, Carlos leaned back against T.K.'s chest. T.K. quickly turned something on the tv, then wrapped his arms around Carlos, holding him tightly. Carlos fell asleep to the sound of T.K.'s heart beating.
-- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
T.K. woke up with a start, feeling like not much time had passed since he'd fallen asleep. He realized the weight against his chest was missing and forced his eyes open to see Carlos sitting on the floor in front of the couch. His knees were pulled to his chest, slumped forward with his head in his hands, rocking back and forth.
"Carlos, baby?" T.K. asked, rubbing his eyes to try and wake up as he scooted closer to his boyfriend.
He quickly realized, Carlos was hyperventilating, breath coming in short gasps that caused his shoulders to hitch. Shit, panic attack. That woke T.K. up. He quickly got up off the couch, sliding their coffee table out of the way so he could sit on the floor in front of Carlos.
"Hey, I'm gonna touch you okay?" T.K. made sure to let Carlos know before reaching out to grab both of his hands. Carlos still startled for a second before relaxing slightly into the touch when he realized it was just T.K. When he looked up, T.K. could see the fear in his eyes.
"I can't- br-breath," Carlos gasped, one hand fumbling to grab at T.K.'s shirt.
"I know love, but it's gonna be okay," T.K. said, voice steady. He moved Carlos's hand, which had found a fistful of his t-shirt, to rest over his heart. "Feel that?" he asked.
Carlos nodded slightly, but his chest continued to hitch with labored breaths, tears streaming down his face. His eyes were squeezed tightly shut.
"Eyes on me baby, just focus on my heart beating," T.K. said softly. Carlos opened his eyes, locking them with T.K.'s. He managed to take in one good breath full of air, but then lurched forward with a sob, which took away all of his air again.
"Fuck- Tyler I-" Carlos cried.
"Hey, Carlos, look at me," T.K. said, "I know you're scared but I promise you're safe, I've got you. But we gotta get your breathing slowed down baby."
One of Carlos's hands still pressed firmly over T.K.'s heart, which was beating strong and steady. T.K. moved his other hand to hold Carlos's cheek, rubbing his thumb gently to dry the tears that continued to fall.
"Focus on my heartbeat, and breath with me," T.K. said, starting to take slow, exaggerated breaths for Carlos to follow. He knew that if Carlos stayed worked up like this for too long he'd make himself sick.
Slowly but surely, Carlos breaths became less erratic. The steady stream of tears had stopped and his breathing returned more or less to normal.
"There we go, you're doing good baby, just keep breathing," T.K. said, continuing to demonstrate the slow, measured breaths. But then his breath suddenly hitched, facing turning pale in the dim light of the hall lamp.
T.K. was already reaching for the trash can next to the couch when Carlos said, "I'm gonna be sick-". It was in his lap just in time for him to pitch forward and throw up into the bin.
"Easy babe, I've got you. Just get it up," T.K. soothed, moving to sit beside Carlos so he could rub his back as he coughed and spit into the bin. Apparently he hadn't gotten calmed down quickly enough. Being anxious and panicked had always turned Carlos's stomach.
A moment later Carlos slumped against T.K.'s side, head on his shoulder, obviously spent. Between the panic attack and the vomiting he had to be exhausted. T.K. gave Carlos a few minutes to breath, then silently helped him up off the floor, leading him up the stairs to their bedroom. They laid down together, Carlos's head resting on T.K.'s chest, so he could feel and hear his heart beating.
"You're safe here with me," T.K. whispered, running his fingers through Carlos's hair. That always calmed him down. He only hoped that Carlos could sleep through the rest of the night.

We Make Our Own Destiny: Ageless
Fandom: Smallville
Rating: E (overall)
Pairing: Clex
Characters: Clark Kent, Lex Luthor, Martha Kent, Jonathan Kent, Lana Lang, Evan, LuthorCorp staff
Word Count: 5041
Warnings: angst, emotional h/c, s4 au, episode rewrite, Lana is trying, so is Jonathan, fluff
Summary: Evan and his found family visit the LuthorCorp labs. Lana and Clark talk. Lex comforts where he can.
Chapter Four:
The next morning saw the little farmhouse in a buzz of action. Martha hadn't come home until Clark was already making his bed on the couch after checking in on Evan, so he had only told her the gist of what had happened while she was at the Talon before she headed to bed. Amazingly, Lex had woken with the dawn along with Clark and the two of them were soon busy getting boxes unpacked, sorting through the clothes and toys Lex had ordered the night before.
Evan had awoken by the time they were done, and Lex had happily volunteered to bathe and dress the boy as Clark sped through his usual chores before his parents woke. Lana had stopped by just as Martha was putting the coffee on and listening avidly to Jonathan's retelling of the night's events, so as Lex bundled Evan down the stairs, he and Lana took him out to the barn to keep him occupied and to give Clark some privacy with his parents to discuss the more tenuous aspects of the situation. Lex felt a wave of gratitude through the bond, and he tried to convey a comforting hug in return.
The scientists Lex had emailed were currently in a bustle of their own, getting equipment ready. They had estimated they would have everything set up by noon, so Lex had convinced Clark and Lana to head off to school after breakfast and come back at lunch to accompany him and Evan to the lab.
“Where is Evan now?” Martha asked as she set out makings for a quick lunch for her growing brood.
Clark did a quick scan as he grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl.
“In the loft with Lex and Lana. And, Mom, I've never seen anything like it. Last night he was just a baby, and then suddenly, he's ready for first grade. Speaking, and apparently he's able to read already.”
“His growth spurt was really amazing.” Jonathan came into the kitchen, washing his hands as he spoke.
“And frightening.” Martha paused in her preparations, turning to look at Clark and Jonathan. “Evan needs to be seen by a doctor. We have to take him back to the hospital.”
“What are we gonna tell the doctors, Mom, he's some second generation meteor freak? He'll either wind up in Belle Reve or a laboratory for the rest of his life.”
“I don't know, Clark, but we owe it to him to do something.” Jonathan dried his hands on a dish towel and stood beside Martha.
“Look, I need you guys to hear me out on this before you go shooting me down. Lex has agreed to have his meteor-focused scientists take a look at Evan. He’s having the lab set up to look into what caused the sudden aging. He’s just as worried as the rest of us about the little guy, and wants to find out if he's okay.”
Jonathan sighed heavily, torn.
“Clark, I realize that Lex has helped us in the past, and that me and him have been trying to get on a better footing with each other, but I'm not sure I'm ready to just put this young man's life in his hands. I'm not sure I trust him that much yet.”
Clark pushed down the anger he felt rising at his father's obstinacy when it came to Lex, he didn't want the emotion to bleed into the bond and worry Lex.
“Dad, if I were in trouble and Lex was the only one who could help, what would you do? Lex has helped out so much already, and besides, don't you think if he had any evil intentions towards Evan, they would both already be gone? He cares about him just as much as any of us. More. The way he is with Evan, it's like he…like he's found something he's been missing all his life, Dad. I trust that he would never intentionally do anything to hurt Evan.”
Jonathan thinks about it, seeing Clark's point, recalling how Lex had been with the baby the past two days, and how eager he was this morning to take charge in caring for the boy. He hadn't seen such a quick attachment since Martha had picked Clark up in the middle of a chaos-ridden field.
Martha watched Jonathan consider Clark's words, ready to interject on Lex’s behalf if her husband got stubborn. She had seen Lex with Evan, saw the light in his eyes that hadn't existed before. Martha had always seen how Lex was, deep down. He'd never admit it willingly, but the young man needed to be needed, a caregiver through and through. He had all this love locked up inside him, and needed someone to let him share that love. And what better conduit for all that unconditional love than a child? Yes, she knew Lex would do anything he could for Evan, just like she would do anything for Clark.
“Alright. We'll give Lex the benefit of a doubt on this. But, I swear, if he hurts one hair on that boy's head-”
“He won't, Dad. And, thanks.” Clark swiftly kissed his mom on the cheek and hugged his dad, before running off to get the others for lunch.
Martha smiled at Jonathan, pecking him on the lips.
“They'll be fine, Jonathan. Lex isn't the monster you've imagined him to be. He's not his father, and you just need to keep looking beyond his name to see that. Clark and Lana are growing up, and Lex is still so young himself. The three of them will do the best they can for Evan, we just have to be there if they need us.”
“I'm trying, Martha, I just…”
“I know.”
Clark walked up the steps to the loft, silently, not wanting to interrupt the scene he'd spied. Evan is sitting on the couch, sandwiched between Lex and Lana, reading aloud from a storybook. Lex’s arm is wrapped loosely around the boy's shoulders, and Lana is staring down at him in quiet amazement.
"You must be very kind to him, to teach him all he needs to know in Rabbit Land, for he is going to live with us forever and ever."
“You know how to read?”
Evan sets the book down in his lap, looking up at Lana.
“I've already read all of Clark's old books, and most of the new one's Lex got me, but this is my favorite. I also like the encyclopedia.”
Lex let out a chuckle, ruffling Evan's hair proudly. Clark could feel the swell of pride through the bond. Lex looked over the back of the couch towards Clark and winked.
“The encyclopedia, huh?” Lana is smiling down at Evan, not sure whether the boy is being genuine or spinning tales. “That's a pretty long book.”
“I know. I stopped at W. Windmills. Did you know they were invented in Persia?”
Lana lets out a soft gasp and looks from Evan to Lex. Lex nods, confirming the unbelievable. He had been up here with Evan for hours, watching him devour book after book, like a real live Matilda.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Um…” Lana shakes off the surprise, smiling down at Evan. “You are a very, very special boy, Evan. I think that you are the most special little boy that I have ever met.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.” Evan looks from Lana to Lex, and Lex nods in agreement. “And you're really lucky, because there are so many more books for you to read and so many places for you to see.”
“Like what?” Clark can't help but grin from his hiding place at the excitement in Evan's voice.
“Like a real windmill. And when you stand up on top of it, the whole world stretches out around you.” Lana thinks fondly of the windmill in Chandler's field, where Clark had taken her, despite his own fear of heights, just to show her that they weren't as cut-off from the rest of the world as she had thought, Metropolis sparkling, bright and alive, in the relatively near distance.
“Can we go? Right now?”
Clark takes that as his cue, clomping up the rest of the steps, pretending he hadn't been skulking in the shadows.
“Where are you going?”
Evan jumps off the couch and runs into Clark's instinctively offered embrace. Lex stands and follows at a more sedate pace, safe enough in Lana's knowledge of them to hug Clark in greeting as the teen lifts Evan up.
“Dad! Mom and Papa are taking me to see a real windmill! Wanna come?”
Startled by the assigned titles, Clark carries Evan back to the couch next to Lana. Lex, Lana, and Clark exchange uneasy glances as the two men settle on the couch beside Evan.
“Um, Evan, listen. We're not your real parents.”
“Everyone's supposed to have parents, and they're supposed to love each other very much, just like you all do. I felt it, last night.”
Lex and Clark shared an awkward look with Lana, the young woman feeling the loss of Clark sharply once more.
“The three of us care about you a lot, Evan. That's what matters.”
Evan looks between them, a heavy sadness on his face.
“If Lana's not my mom, and neither of you are my dad, where are they?”
Lex takes Evan's hand in his, his heart aching for the boy.
“We don't know. But wherever they are, I'm sure they love you very much.”
“We even have a friend of ours helping to find them, okay?”
Lana leaned over and pressed a kiss to Evan’s forehead, the tension breaking as Evan made a very age-typical yuck face. Clark stood, picking Evan up again and hefting him onto his hip as the trio headed for the stairs.
“Hey, after lunch, you want to go for a ride in the truck?”
“Are we going to the windmill?!”
“Uh, we will. But first, Lex wants to show you where he works. We've got some things we need to figure out about you, and Lex has people who work for him who know a lot about people who are special, like you, and how to help them.”
“Oh, like a hospital? I'm not sick, am I? I mean, I don't feel sick.”
“That's…that's what we want to make sure of, buddy. It's not a hospital, though. It's Lex's personal lab. You'll be safe there.”
Lex felt Clark's apprehension and tried to soothe it, but considering his own anxiety, it may not have worked as well as he hoped. He followed Lana and Clark back to the house, trying to keep his emotions off his face.
The second they all stepped into the house, it was hard for the three of them to focus on their worry. Evan was taken into Martha's smiling embrace, cooed over as was expected, before being led to a table laden with sandwiches, fruit salad, and a plate of fresh baked cookies. Milk was set out for Evan, coffee poured for everyone else, and Evan dug in dutifully as the three younger adults let themselves be buoyed by the happier atmosphere.
They decide it would be easier for all of them to pile into Lana's Envoy, Clark sliding in beside Evan in the backseat as Lex took the passenger seat. Lana drove up to the fertilizer plant in anxious silence, steering at Lex's directive towards the back parking lot closest to the laboratory that was expecting them.
Inside the lab, a man in a crisp white lab coat hurries over to greet them. Lex is wearing his business mask, but Clark can feel the trepidation thrumming through their connection, the older man just worried as he and Lana.
“Dr. Turner, I trust everything is ready?”
“Of course, Mr. Luthor. If you'll just follow me.”
Dr. Turner leads them across the lab to a room at the back, and Clark fights back a rush of fear at the sight of the stark metal table he sees through the room's glass walls. Machines lined up around the table, beeping and whirring, and Lex has to place a hand at the small of Clark's back before he remembers to breathe. Lana looks over at him in confusion, Evan's hand in hers as she leads the boy along.
“It's okay, Clark. I promise.”
Clark gives Lex a discreet smile and nod of thanks at his whispered comfort, following the others into the room a little less dizzily.
Lana helps Evan out of his shirt at the doctor's direction, lifting him up onto the table so that Dr. Turner can attach the wire leads to his chest and start gathering readings from the various machines. Evan lays back on the table and Lex takes a blanket from a nearby chair, covering the boy from the sterile cold.
Another of Lex’s scientists steps in, and Lex gestures at Clark and Lana to follow him out into the hall. They watch as the new guy injects Evan with a syringe of clear fluid, Lana cringing in empathy as the boy grimaces at the pinch. Beyond the minor discomfort though, Evan seems unfazed, looking over at them and waving.
“I hope we've done the right thing.” Clark can't help but be twitchy in this place, despite Lex's assurances, the fear of experimentation too ingrained. He's grateful for the soundproofing of the glass. “If we put him through all this for nothing…”
Lex pulls Clark into a loose hug, guiding him and Lana to a sitting area nearby.
“Clark, it looks a lot worse than it is, I swear. I won't let them do anything more than take a few blood samples and readings. Just to conclude whether Evan is indeed meteor-affected and if this is going to happen again.”
Lana watches Lex being so gentle with Clark, squashing down the residual jealousy as she realizes how much Clark needs someone like Lex. Someone to take care of things when he couldn't, someone to lean on. Things she had always needed from him, but didn't yet have the strength to give in return.
Just as Clark is assuring Lex that he's just being a worrywort, Dr. Turner comes out to request that he speak to Lex. He waves the doctor off ahead of him and presses a quick kiss to Clark's temple, hugging Lana mostly as an afterthought.
Lana sits down next to Clark, bumping his shoulder playfully. Clark flashed her a quick smile, nudging her back.
“Hey. You really love him, don't you?”
“Lex? Yeah, I do. I'm sorry, Lana, that I-”
“Don't. Don't be sorry, Clark.” Lana reached over and took Clark's hand in hers. “I see how the two of you look at each other, and I realize…you've always looked at each other that way. You look…happy. Like you both finally found peace. I'm sorry I couldn't be the one to give you that, but I'm glad you found someone who could. I won't say I wasn't surprised, or that I'm not a little bit jealous, but I won't tell anyone about it, and I won't go all Fatal Attraction on you. You deserve this happiness, Clark, you both do.”
“Thanks, Lana, really. But, you deserve happiness, too.” Clark squeezed her tiny hand gently, his smile turning sad. “I'm sorry that we didn't work out, even after I said that things would be different. I'm sorry you couldn’t find with Jason, what I found with Lex. I do feel love for you, Lana, just…”
“Not the same as you feel for Lex. I get it, Clark. If we're both honest with ourselves, I think we've always been meant to only be friends. We saw each other as an ideal, what we thought we wanted, but didn't see we weren't what we needed. And, hey, I'll find my own Lex someday, I can be patient.”
Clark stood, pulling Lana up with him and into a hug, kissing the top of her head. He would always care about her, but Lex was the one he had chosen, and probably always would. Lex was the one person who, when Clark thought about losing them, the prospect hurt more even than Alicia's death had. More than Kyla's. The thought of losing Lana that way stung, but not in that soul-crushing, can't breathe around the pain in my heart, kind of way that losing Lex would bring.
“Still friends?”
“Always, Clark.”
“Good. Let's go check on Evan.”
As they walked back towards the glass room, Lana chuckled ruefully.
“You'd think after the past four years, I'd be used to this kinda stuff, but these past few months have definitely been the strangest yet.”
“And for Smallville, that's saying something.”
Looking through the window, Lana squeezes Clark's hand, worried at the expression on Evan's face.
“Clark, he looks so scared. I hate doing this to him.”
“So do I, but it shouldn't take long. Lex has his best scientists working on this.”
Just then, Lex comes down the stairs at the back of the lab and steps up beside them. His face is a mix of wonder and fear. Clark can feel the warring emotions wafting off the older man, his own anxiety ramping up.
“And they've already come up with some intriguing, albeit startling, discoveries.”
“Lex, is he gonna be alright?”
Lex doesn't answer right away, looking from Lana to Clark, and turns his head to watch Evan for a moment.
“Lex, tell us what's happening.”
Lex sighs and pulls his gaze away from the boy being poked and prodded at, pushing away memories of those agonizing months he'd spent in the hospital after the meteor shower.
“I had them looking at the data based on my theory about that flash of light we saw just before we found Evan. The results are only preliminary, but everything indicates that Evan's body is storing energy, like a battery charging.”
“Charging for what?” Lana's voice is full of fear, and Lex lays a hand on her shoulder, uncertain how to comfort her.
“The conclusion we've come to is that once enough energy is stored, it's expended to fuel a burst of extremely rapid cell division.”
“That's how he was able to go from a baby to a seven year old in one day.”
Lex nods at Clark, knowing Clark is struggling to keep his angst from flooding the bond.
“Is there any way to stop it?”
“My team believes a bone marrow transplant might slow the growth and bring his metabolism back to normal.”
“Can they use my bone marrow”, Lana asks. “If I’m a match?”
“Well, it's not that simple. His genetic makeup is highly unusual. For this to work, we'll need an exact match with a living donor, which means a biological parent.”
“Chloe found the recording of an emergency call made just before we found Evan.” Clark frowned, and Lex's heart surged at the pain in his voice. “We think his mother died when he was born. We're still trying to find his father, it sounded like he ran off just before the explosion.”
“What's going to happen to Evan if we can't find him?”
Before Lex can answer, the lights in the lab start flickering. A huge blast from the room sends one of the doctors flying through the glass window and he falls to the floor in the hallway between them.
“Evan!”
The three of them hurry through the shattered window, to Evan's bedside where he is sitting up. Lana touches his arm, shocked.
“Evan”, her voice a whisper of disbelief.
“Unbelievable.”
Clark can't even find words as he stares at Evan from Lex's side. Sitting up on the metal table is a teenaged Evan, the blanket pooling precariously around his waist. Eyes wide with fear and confusion, Evan looks between the three he's grown to consider parents, then down at his hands.
“What's wrong with me?” His voice is deeper, cracking slightly in the middle, puberty in action.
Dr. Turner steps up beside Lex, a little less flabbergasted than anyone else in the room.
“We can have the Level Three facility prepared for his immediate transfer, Sir.”
“No. You're not taking him anywhere.” Lex promised Clark Evan wouldn't be made to feel like an experiment, and God knew the boy had to feel overwhelmed enough right now. “I’m having that sector shut down for a reason, and I will not have him subjected to that environment.”
Clark takes off his jacket and puts it around Evan's shoulders, relief coursing through him and through the bond.
"But Sir, we need to isolate him while we run more tests. If this happens again-”
“I just want to go home.” Evan is gripping Clark's hand tight, tears welling in his eyes.
“Turner, he's just a boy. I said no. Any other tests can be run with the samples you've already taken.”
“We understand you're trying to help, and we appreciate it.” Clark looks at the doctor, ready to act if he doesn't concede to Lex's orders. “But he's been through enough. We're taking him home.”
Lex stares Dr. Turner down as the scientist splutters, trying to convince the CEO to change his mind. Clark and Lana help Evan off the bed and walk him out of the lab, Lex striding behind them without another word to the frustrated doctor.
Evan is set in the front seat of Lana's car, Lex adamant about joining Clark in the back. He can feel Clark's fear and pain seeping through the bond despite the brunette's efforts to hide it, and as the SUV passes the gates of the plant, Lex wordlessly draws Clark into his embrace, letting him sag against his side. Lips to the young man's forehead, he whispers an attempt at comfort.
“We'll figure this out, Clark. I swear, we'll do everything we can to keep him safe.”
Once back at the Kent farm, Evan darts out of the car and up to Clark's loft, the young boy apparently finding it as much a place of comfort as Clark always had. The trio of concerned adults drag themselves from the vehicle, various lost looks in their eyes. Inside the kitchen, Clark mutters something about clothes and heads towards the stairs. With an apologetic glance at Lana, Lex follows after.
Lex shuts the door quietly behind them, even as he hears Martha joining Lana downstairs. He feels slightly better that she has someone to vent to now, but Clark is his priority. Watching Clark rummage through his closet, clothes discarded in a blur, he waits. It doesn't take long.
Halfway through the top drawer of his dresser, Clark crumpled into himself, falling to his knees in stages, a broken sob renting the air. Lex is there instantly, kneeling beside him, drawing him into his arms. He feels Clark's pain through the bond as the brunette finally lets his barriers down, knows his own is felt by Clark when the hands that had gripped at his shirt loosen to wrap around his back instead. They sit there, in the middle of Clark's room, surrounded by shirts and jeans, holding onto each other like a lifeline. Soundless tears streak Lex's face, counterpoint to the sniffles and weeping coming from the lips muffled against his salt-dampened shoulder.
“He's gonna die, isn't he?” Clark's voice is hoarse when he finally speaks, thick with the agony of the loss he knows is coming. “It's not fair, Lex. What good are all these powers if I can't use them to save people like Evan?”
“I know, Clark, I know it's not fair. And, I know it hurts. But you can't save everyone, Clark. Sometimes, people die, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it.” Clark's face is nestled into his shoulder now, and Lex lays his cheek on top of his head. “The world isn't always fair; sometimes it takes good people away too soon. Innocent people. Children, like Ryan, like Julian, and like Evan. Like Kyla and Alicia. And, you can't always stop it. And, it hurts. It's a pain that doesn't completely go away, that only lessens, but lingers for as long you remember them. But, we can live for them, make it so they don't die in vain. We can be happy again, because they would want us to be. Trust again, because they wouldn't want us to hide ourselves away from the world. We can care about and love other people, even knowing we could lose them, because those we've lost wouldn't want us to be alone.”
Clark sniffled again, blinking away the tears that blurred his vision as he lifted his head. He remembered the promise that he had made to Ryan, when they were drifting high above Smallville. To not be angry or sad at his loss, to never give up. He pushed away the pain again, letting Lex's comfort and words bolster him against the urge to just give up.
“So, no, it's not fair that this happened to Evan. But it's not over. We still could find his biological father, get him to help us save him. My team could still find another way to stop this. Listen for him, hear his heartbeat. As long as you can hear that, and as long as we keep trying, it's not over. But right now, there is a fourteen year old boy up in that loft, alone and scared, and waiting for the only people he's seen as parents to come help him, to comfort him. Evan needs us, Clark. He needs a change of clothes, and the three people who care about him.”
“You're right”, Clark stands up, wiping tears from his face and pulls Lex up beside him. Brushes a quick kiss to Lex’s damp cheek. “I know, you're right. Help me pick something out for him?”
Lex gives Clark a watery smile and they search through the small wreckage of clothes, settling on one of Clark's older plaid shirts and a pair of worn jeans Clark had outgrown by seventh grade. None of Clarks shoes are small enough, so Lex makes a quick call for a pair of sneakers to be bought and delivered to the Kent house within the hour.
After another few minutes of comforting each other and a tender kiss or two, they finally head back downstairs. Martha is on the couch, consoling Lana with gentle words and a hug that only a mother could give. Her head turns at the sound of Clark's boots on the steps, a sad smile on her face as she takes in their reddened eyes.
“Are you boys alright? Lana told me about Evan, I'm so sorry it happened again.”
“We're not resigned to his fate, Mrs. Kent. My men are working on a back-up in case we can't track down Evan's father.”
“Lana, we're gonna take him these clothes to change into. Give us a minute before following?”
Lana nodded, composing herself as she reluctantly straightened from Martha's loving embrace. Her motherly care had felt wonderful, something Lana had missed for so long, warmer and more real than what Nell had been capable of giving.
Lex and Clark climbed up the steps to the loft, finding Evan still wrapped in the blanket as he huddled on the couch. He looks up at their entrance, tears shimmering in his eyes, but accepts the scrounged up clothing wordlessly and slips the boxers on under the blanket before standing.
He's lanky, but not quite as tall as Clark had been at that age. The plaid button-up is a size too large, and the jeans will need to be rolled at the cuffs to keep him from tripping. Clark feels his heart squeeze painfully at the sight of the boy, and knows what his parents felt every time he'd outgrown another set of clothes. He feels Lex rub his shoulder, and tries to convey a look of assurance when he glances over at him.
Evan is just settling back down on the couch as Lana joins them, sitting next to the boy and taking his hand in hers.
“I'm dying, aren't I?”
“Evan, don't say that.”
Lex settles on the arm of the couch at Evan's other side, and Clark settles on the coffee table in front of them. Both young men reach out, one hand on a knee, the other on hunched shoulders.
“No, I- I read the average lifespan of a man is seventy-four years. I've aged from a newborn to a teenager in forty-eight hours.” Evan looks between the three people he considers parents, the only people he knows, with absolute certainty, love him unconditionally. “Do the math.”
“Evan, we're not gonna give up. Lex has got his team working on a cure right now.”
“And if we can find your father…”
Evan stands up and walks over to the window, his back to them. He knows they just don't want him being scared, but he's trying to be realistic, trying to tell them not to get their hopes up.
“Do you really think they're gonna find a cure for me overnight? It's like my life was just some sort of trick that was played on me! All that stuff I read in the books that I thought I was gonna see...I'm not…” He turns around to face them. “Am I?”
“Don't talk like that, all right? We just have to keep trying.”
“It's not fair. This whole thing...it's just not fair!”
Evan runs down the stairs and out of the loft. He needs to get away. Their hope is too hard to bear.
Lana looks between Lex and Clark, lost.
“We have to do something. We can't just let this happen to him.”
“Would you go see if he's okay? I need to find his father.”
Lana nods and hurries after Evan. Lex stands and Clark pulls him into a brief hug.
“While you go get Chloe's help on tracking down Evan's dad, I'll head back to the plant. See if they've made any progress.” Lex hands Clark a burner cell. “Call me if there's any luck with Chloe.”
Clark rushes out of the barn as Lex calls for a car to come pick him up.

EDDIE MUNSON X MALE READER
Summary: This HAS to be Eddie's year.
Content Warnings: (Spolier) Character Death
Other Pairings: Billy Hargrove x Male Reader
AUTHOR NOTE(S):
Fuck ya'll for making it cringe to like eddie
On other, more important notes, some background info and sincere warnings for ya:
This scene takes place s4 era. Reader graduated last year (s3) currently 18 going on 19. Felt like this was important to note given that our dear little failure here is a grown ass man and it'd be a tad bit strange to pair the little fucker with a highschool student.
Reader works as an intern at the school, hence, Eddie Munson.
Could possibly turn into a series (I have big dreams and not enough energy)
For those of you who have NOT seen s3, you will get spoiled by the end of this little thang so yk proceed with caution or wtv
Ummmmm
Oh right so, I know it says x Reader but this scene was in fact written with the intentions of putting an OC into the series. So for now, you're Joey.
That's it 🫶
_________________________________________
"No- No! See? This is- 'and it is'. Use an adverb to explain the connection and create... emotion. "
Eddie sinks in his own posture and slides a hand over his face, knocking his fringe sideways and out of the way. They have been at this for a while, and he's had enough. "You're not connecting the dots like I'm connecting the dots. "
"Those are literally dots. " Joey gestured towards the piece of paper that sat between them, littered with penmarks, of Eddie's choosing. He couldn't quite decphier why the man was lazily scratching the paper with color in certain areas. He peered closer at the margin on the left, words written across the blank surface that seemed made up. "How are you gonna connect something that wasn't written... this is an argumentative essay, Eddie. You're not allowed to just make up facts. " He wants to jab those pens underneath his eyelids. "What're all these marks for?"
"Alright, say, say this little orange, " Joey watches Eddie move his pen towards the tiny round doodle with squinted eyes, "what if it was in an orange?"
He's going to fail this.
Joey stares at the man unimpressed. "I've been sitting here trying to teach you how to write an arugmentative analysis on an article for the last hour, and you're drawing oranges on your paper?"
"With faces!" Eddie counters, pointing his orange pen– Joey's orange pen in the opposites face.
Joey snatches the pen from his hand abruptly and drops it, clattering down and across the wooden floor.
The pair of them have only gotten so far in this session of teaching. 'This session' being 1.5 hours, and Eddie had yet to pick up on the technique Joey had used to teach himself the tricks and secrets to these things years ago. Though, maybe he was giving him too much credit. The way the doe eyed mans head tilts to the side when he goes to the page and scans the lines for his answer seemed too much to bear.
They're in his trailer, surrounded by textbooks on the table that once belonged to Joey. This place, now that their studying system wasn't some figment of Joey's imagination brought to life, was a lot messier than he'd have liked it. But Munson came first.
Eddie wasn't dumb. Far from it, really. But in this moment he was. Maybe not, if you don't count the fact he wasn't listening. For the last hour. Or two. Joey definitely couldn't count because that sounded too depressing and he really did need to rethink his strategy.
"Sometimes doing homework is like sticking a fork in an electric socket. "
Nancy's words, not his, but either way he believes that now as well.
Joey stared at the older man's frame as he lay with his back against the rug on the carpet, eyes closed, another pen, teal, or at least the closests thing to it, hanging out of his mouth and some paper resting next to the upper half of his body.
"Eddie. "
"Yes, kind sir?" He quickly gets up, the second he hears his voice. He rests his arms on top of the surface of the round coffee table. "I'm totally paying attention, go on. "
Joey manages a breath before he rips the pen from Eddie's mouth and places it aside. Eddie gaped like a fish for a few moments too long and then took his pen back.
"You can't draw oranges in an analysis essay, please pay attention. "
Joey can feel his hair stand on end when he turns back to the English work.
"Yeah but hear me out, everyone is an orange. "
Joey's eyes flee back up to the man. "Eddie–" He protests.
"Just..." The man's mouth opens and a hint of an apology graces his soft facial structure but is soon replaced by his stubborn stance, his leg jolts slightly with his arms as he pushes his palms forward to the table. "C'mon. I'm smart, right?"
"...Yes?"
Eddie smiles triumphantly. His hair, resting in beautiful knots beside his ears. "Think about it. " He puts a finger up to his temple, tapping it twice. "People are oranges, and each orange is unique. Alike, but totally different. Maybe the ones with the nugget are rotten, or they taste more bitter or whatever. But someone likes 'em–"
"For their orange flavour?"
"Orange flavour. " Eddie grins at him. Joey has his suspicions about that grin.
"Sure, Ed. " He picks up his pencil and twists it around. "Now sit down. " He deadpans, eyes scanning the book passage in front of him.
Nonetheless, Eddie prevales. "You're my favorite orange. "
Joey gives him a look, his features remaining blank but there's a strange– almost longing tension to his jaw.
"You know why?" He drags out the last word while simultaneously circling the others nose with the orange pen he'd reterived without notice before giving the tip of the mans nose a prompt 'boop!'. "Because. "
A pause. Longer than Joey would have liked.
"..What?"
His eyes trace down his face.
"You're bigger. "
"Bigger?" He stares down the man incredulously. "What the fuck does that mean?"
"It means–!" Eddie's eyes turn back into his and he smiles coyly, "that you give me bigger... biggaaa— heart boners. Every time we are alone. Y'know? Just us. " He pauses to watch the anger burning in the others eyes, "You... bein' all tall and broad and... strong. "
The end of his sentence is like a purr but it lacked the proper 'o' sound to make the word seductive. –The ridiculous flexing didn't do much to help him either.
"Heart boners?" Joey cracks a smile, unable to keep his face muscles strewn tight. "Jesus. Shut up. "
"We could play house. I wouldn't mind being a house wife. " Eddie tucks his hair behind his ear, sitting pretty. His eyes reflect a perverse joy.
In turn, Joey rolls his eyes, teeth peaking out from beneath his lips. "Analysis first –then you can cook and clean for me all you want. "
Not a minute later does Eddie get on his knees before lunging forward, throwing his arm around his shoulder and ruffling the brunettes hair. Joey struggles, laughter spilling out in unsteady puffs of air. "Hey, what the hell is your problem?!"
Eddie let's him loose after a few more moments of struggle and the sight Joey offers makes him beam. "It's nice to see you smile. " He admits. "You've been all, edgy, lately. "
Once again, it's always so very easy to lose this man's train of thought with simple distractions such as putting his hair up in a high bun and pushing stray strands behind his ears.
"Used to be all kind smiles and doe eyes. "
Somethings got to give.
"Ever since the mall fi–"
"Didn't realize you paid so much attention to me, Eddie. " He interrupts.
"Well, you just make it so hard not to. " Eddie grins widely at him, his eyes practically twinkling.
Eddie tries not to get too sore over things. Least of all with Joey. Especially since he's got a knack for tip toeing his way out of things himself. Today isn't the day for that, apparently. Because Eddie isn't having it. Which is annoying.
"Look, " he tries again, "I'm not saying you have to –ya know? Say anything. You've just been different...than before. "
That much he knows, Eddie's always noticed things. Because that's who he is and all the time he spent to by himself over the course of his many highschool years has taught him to be an observer, and it just so happened that he had the knowledge to tell when and how things were off.
But there was always something about the way the brunette carried himself, stiff on his feet and jittery like a trapped mouse, no one gave it much thought.
Not even Eddie really.
"You didn't even know me before, Eddie. " Joey's looking at the man with tired eyes, he wonders where his reasoning is coming from. Had they talked more? And how did he manage to create this image of him into a person he had no inkling of a memory towards?
"Hey, I beg to differ. " Eddie counters, "I've known you for like..." He counts on his fingers, recalling he was supposed to garduate two years before Joey. "Six years!"
Joey scoffs. "And out of all those years, we've only had a real conversation in these past few months. "
Eddie goes a little quiet after that.
"So you can wipe that memory of... whatever you have in your head. " His chest swells with an unwelcome pain and he holds his breath.
The man doesn't waver. "Thats not how this works. " His brows furrow, etching serious lines into his forehead. "I've seen you. You've changed since then. "
"No I haven't. " Joey's gaze flickers towards the man, eyes stern but deep within them stir the turbulent anger Eddie had become quite familiar with his whole life.
"You have. " Eddie continues. "Your laughs not as loud, " He gestures vaguely towards the brunettes chest. "You seem more sad than, -than you usually are? Is what I mean..."
Eddie draws his bottom lip between his teeth and bites down nervously.
"Eddie, just drop it. " He's turning in his place, pulling one foot beneath him on the floor as his butt brushes the fabric beneath his thighs.
Eddie goes silent but for only a few minutes because without much reluctance he's lifting the forgotten orange pen from the wooden floorboard again and twirling it between his fingers.
"...Joey. " He says softly after a few long moments. "This town's shitty. "
And if he'd said this to the man about a year ago, he wouldn't have agreed. But now, he feels like he's being stabbed in the chest at the mere sight of it.
Eddie, himself, makes him forget sometimes. The bad and all it's misery.
He's not all that happy about that.
Not as much as he should be. Would've been.
"You know, I'm here. " Eddie leans in a bit, in hopes his friends words along with his guts may spill right out from him, "As much as you are for me with these–" He lifts one from the table before promptly letting it fall from his fingertips. "shitty textbooks. "
Joey swallows roughly, the lump in his throat straining but after a few seconds, he can't help it.
He lets out a long sigh, containing himself all in one breath. "I knew someone..." He starts slow and doesn't seem keen on finishing.
"In the mall fire?"
A huff this time. "Yes– the mall fire. " It felt funny to adress it as such. A false statement.
He feels tense all over, skin rubbing against the denim pants he wore like sandpaper against dry wood.
"My friend–" He pauses to scoff. "If you could even call the asshole that. " And of course, he's still trying to conceal it, the fact that those months apart had been the worst months of his life.
Billy. Fucking, Hargrove. Who would've thought he'd end up on his mind so often?
"He– passed. " The words come out heavy, sitting cold on his tongue and tasting bitter when the admission leaves him. "In the fire. "
Bullshit. Fucking fire. Really?

Wait, people think Carver is the best TWDG villain?? I always thought he was basic as hell, and the fact that he was beefing with an 11-years old girl... Now Stranger on the other hand was great, he was super intimidating and off-putting and I was genuinely so scared he would hurt Clementine. I also liked Minnie for the same reasons (she was so creepy/off-putting), but I still think Stranger is the best villain bc he had a great setup while Minnie was kind of a secondary villain. But going back to Lilly/Carver, I also definitely prefer Lilly over Carver even though neither are my favorite... And now I'm kind of curious how you would rank the rest of the TWDG villains? 🤔
carver being the best villain is a sentiment ive heard for years 😭 im sure its coming from the "S2 is the best season" crowd tho which i also dont agree with 💀
the stranger is an effective villain. hes not exactly the typical villain type people expect. but hes very unsettling and him stalking clementine for who even knows how long through the walkie talkie is 🤢 he really makes me feel sick. she was using that talkie to deal with the loss of her parents, and this fucking creep took advantage of that so hard he was able to convince her to trust him. ugh he makes me feel so gross. and think of all the guilt clem must have about that situation. trusting this freak to help her find her parents, when if she had just stayed then lee wouldnt have gotten bit looking for her, and her parents were already dead the entire time anyway. oof. theres no way that isnt one of the biggest regrets of her life
carver is fine. i definitely think his character wouldve made more sense if they put kenny in that role instead. that way theres less "i am a grown man beefing with an 11 year old" and more "this is a child i helped look out for once, and im gonna make sure shes raised Right". but i agree that carver as he is is just over the top. overly villainous to the point of it being a little comical. like when villains are all tough like that my reaction is usually "god i WISH youd fucking kill me already so i dont have to hear your bullshit anymore do you know how GOOFY you sound??". if it was kenny in that role i definitely think they wouldve been able to tone it back a bit, and him "having a good side" wouldve been way more believable. as he is carver is kind of one note
joan.... definitely the weakest of the bunch. i dont really have much to say about her. david isnt even technically a villain but i definitely saw him as the better antagonist for the season. i mean hes definitely a villain in clems eyes. and is a constant semi-antagonist towards javi throughout the whole season. joans just kinda.. there.. doing things behind the scenes to cause conflict until the final confrontation. and then she can just disappear... okay
i like the way the antagonists work in S4. theres more of a discussion around what actually makes someone a villain and the difference between a person who fucked up and made (very horrible) mistakes, and a person who is straight up a threat. and i like that it connects back to the idea of lee and his murder of that senator. did he do something horrible? yes. did he destroy his relationship to his family? yes. does he regret what he did? i think so. and he definitely has guilt about his fucked up relationship with his wife. in S1 they mention how non-guilty people got sent to prison all the time. while lee is Definitely a murderer, we get to see over the season that hes a good guy who just wanted a family and in a moment of rage and betrayal did something he can never take back. this is why i never hated marlon. did he fuck up and do horrible things? of course. but he was a scared fucked up teen leading a group of other scared fucked up teens. he knows he fucked up, and continued fucking up to cover for his previous fuck ups lol. but he can be talked down. its a shame it ends the way it does, but i really like being able to teach aj the difference between people like marlon and people like lilly
lilly takes that kenny/carver idea and applies it to a clementine that has grown up and has been looking out for herself (and baby aj) for years now, instead of the 11 year old trying to figure shit out she was in S2. shes too old for lilly to be able to sway her in a way she couldve been more susceptible to in S2, and when lilly finally realizes this she just turns her attention to aj instead, seeing the potential in him (a potential clem does NOT want aj to live up to, wanting him to get to be a kid and not just a survivor, let alone a killer). lilly is fun because you can see in her that she WANTS clementine on her side, and throughout the season progressively realizes that its just never going to happen. both lilly AND clem come to the realization that this person they once considered family is beyond reason, their views too different, and so the fighting begins. their fight at the end of EP3 really feels like a "so its finally come to this" moment for both of them, their final fight. i always shoot her.
whats interesting about minnie is seeing her evolve from secondary antagonist in EP3 to straight up primary villain in EP4. the things shes done, the way shes been broken. she becomes her own downfall, seeing herself as someone beyond redemption. that this is just who she is now, its how things have to be. because if they didnt have to be this way? well then theres a lot more guilt she'd have to deal with. yelling at her in EP4 to just STOP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THIS ANYMORE but she has been changed (in her eyes) so irreparably that she cant see any other option. and she progressively sees clem as the one who fucked everything up for her, instead of accepting that it could all finally be OVER. after killing sophie, the delta was all she had left. it cant have all been for nothing. and so she blames clem for taking it all away from her, even tho clem is just trying to protect her family. the family that used to be minnies. and so in her rage she gets bit. something else that she couldve avoided. but shes just too lost to her own downward spiral, unable to be reasoned with. by that point she just wants it all to be Over. and she wants to take tenn with her so she can finally pretend things can all go back to the way they used to be. her, sophie, tenn, and their parents all together again, where no more bad things have to happen to them. shes super tragic and i love her for that. and i love how she holds this dark mirror up to clem. clem struggles to let go of her past too, and the guilt she has over the things shes done and people shes hurt. and that if she cant learn to let go and move on she could get lost to it the same way minnie did. theres a reason clem is so quick to accept her fate, but shes finally able to leave that guilt holding her to her past behind in that barn. and she returns to ericson a much happier and lighter person, so much weight finally lifted from her shoulders. its finally over for her too
so yeah. my fave villains are definitely the S4 ones due to their nuance and layers. then the stranger, then carver, then joan. if i had to put david on this list he'd probably be above carver. but thats mainly because he has more nuance than carver ever did
#S4 addressing themes of rehabilitation makes me sooo happy#twdg#long as post be upon you#replies with lexi#incognito

Hudson and Rex S03E15 - Seeing is Deceiving
Verging on unbelievable. Not quite there but, well. Also, Castle has done an almost identical one. Pun intended. It was the same magic plus twins storyline with a trick-y reveal, the only thing that changed was the murderer as Hudson and Rex added a different plot twist here.
Black letters in quotes: Actual show quotes.
Green letters in quotes: What I come up with my twisted brain.
Practical magic doesn't really impress me.
A mall!
This and the shot of twin babies are the show's very subtle way of telling us that we're going to have twins in this episode.
Otto is training to be a service dog! Good job, Otto!
Also Alan Doyle is back!
Back to the eye-flirting.
Why would anyone watch practical magic online? I mean, if you can pull tricks in front of my very eyes, you can definitely pull more tricks when I'm not physically in the same place as you.
Sarah's job offer just came lol
No, I'm not reading the rest of the messages. What a ridiculous idea. Also, what's this about a 3D printer and Heritage?
"Shut up. My mom is not leaving us."
"Damn it, now I have to act like I'm happy for her when I want her to stay."
Charlie: "What are you gonna do if you get it?" Rex has a lot of loud opinions about this.
And then Jesse interrupts via text. Is there one important conversation he hasn't interrupted? I assume that Charlie locked him in a closet for his confession to Sarah in the season finale of S4.
Aw, and then Rex goes to leave but comes back again and whines at her! Stop this.
We have to sign an NDA just to do our investigation? That can't be right. No, seriously, there's no way that's procedure.
What in the hell is a digifile? Don't tell me it's supposed to mean digital file.
"There's a code in the magic community." "Yeah, there's a code in prison too. Would you like to learn about that?" Savage.
Rex can see the words on the pages but can't read. Charlie and Sarah can read but they can't see the words of the pages. How about you teach Rex to read?
"Rex, that's one hell of a trick." You better be joking.
I hate all of them. Why do they get to pet all these dogs and I can't? (I don't hate them. I promise.)
Well, these cases get weirder and weirder. Also, we've been in that building before.
"Her tricks were so next level you would sleep with her assistant just to get her secrets." Did I mention that men are scum today?
"Score one for Jesse!" "Are we referring to ourselves in third person now?" lol
One minute later: "Charlie is a happy man."
Charlie needs a minute. He just saw that Sarah was selected for the position in London.
Sarah did have that laptop and the e-mail wide open there, though. Maybe she was hoping for a reaction.
I know it's probably so fucking cold but this is so pretty. I want to go there.
It's so funny that they're showing us shots of Margo as we see Charlotte so we can understand that they look the same. No. Pay attention or stay confused forever!
I'm almost sure that they tested this thing on some audience and they couldn't figure it out so they added the footage.
"Why am I going in that box?"
Trying to talk to the girl you like...
Charlie: "This is your dream." Sarah: "Dreams do evolve." Into what?
Why are you looking like a big weirdo, Charlie?
I can't with their looks. I do understand why Peter Mitchell chose for Charlie to say "since you started talking about London". I mean, this moment alone could be showing that Charlie had come to a realization. I still maintain that it was the one where he watches Rex greet Sarah at home, though. But this moment here is lovely. It could also be interpreted as Charlie feeling like he is about to lose Sarah. You can see a range of emotions in those 2-3 seconds. Impressive.
I could do without "That's my partner, always bringing the magic" but I like how happy Charlie looks in that moment. Rex looks happy too, I promise, I just couldn't get a good screenshot lol
Okay, so since the job offer is mentioned in this episode, then not in the last one and then is mentioned again in S04E01, I think it's safe to assume that they switched the finale. Although I think that the other one is more of a finale material. Not by a lot, since it didn't have high stakes or anything. But just case-wise and with the gathering at Charlie's house.

Hello, lovely!! I wanted to say I love your writings esp since I have the same awesome taste, Javi ♡ (+ Luke!)
If I could request I'd really love Javier (and whoever else you'd like :)) with a kind reader capable enough in the apocalypse, they just get shy and blush easily around their crush :P
I think you have a post like it for S4 but I'm not sure for the others, and please do ignore if you're not accepting or anything!!
just for you, here are some extra long Javi and Luke blurbs for you, friend 💛💛
because they’re gonna be long, click the cut to read ‘em :)
Javier: Javier smiled to himself, watching Y/N as they entered the Richmond gates. “Welcome back,” he said, setting down the tools he was holding. He was helping chop and arrange firewood with some newer survivors, but abandoned it quickly when Y/N walked in. All Y/N could do was smile, nervously rubbing at one of their arms. “Thanks,” they said softly. Why was it always so hard for them to speak when Javi was nearby? “How did collecting go?” Javi asked. Y/N was so busy planning what they would say next that they almost completely missed his question. “Oh, good!” Y/N responded after a beat of delay, processing his question. “Lots of firewood was collected. We even managed to find a squirrel.” Javi whistled, impressed. “Sounds like we’ll be eating like kings tonight then, huh?” He turned, his hands on his hips, smirking Y/N’s way. They could feel their knees go weak, but cleared their throat as a means of composing themselves. “Can I help you unpack?” Javi asked, he was fiddling with the bottom of his shirt - something he rarely did - as he spoke. His eyes drifted down Richmond’s dirt, man-made road as he awaited their response. With rosy cheeks and a beaming smile, Y/N nodded. Realizing he wasn’t looking at them, they became even more flustered. “Yes! Please. I’d really appreciate that.” God they were a mess. They just didn’t know that Javi found it adorable. They spent the rest of their day in the kitchen taking stock, and near the firepit, chatting, organizing firewood, and getting ready to cook dinner together.
Luke: Luke smiled as Y/N started toward the cabin, two large bags of wood in their arms. One was hanging off their back, the other they were holding with both arms, as if to balance them out. By the time they got in through the front doors, they dropped the bags off and sighed. “Tired?” Luke asked, leaning against a railing at the top of the stairs. Y/N almost jumped out of their skin - a hand to their chest - taking a deep breath. “I thought you would be sleeping,” Y/N said, scurrying up the stairs to be closer to him. Their heart was racing; now for more than one reason. “I couldn’t sleep.” Luke said passively, smirking their way. It made Y/N almost collapse. “Decided I’d wait until you came back from foraging.” Y/N practically short-circuited. “W-Waiting? For me?” Luke raised a brow, confused by their sudden stumbling. They were normally so well put-together. “Why?” They started fiddling with their fingers - something they did whenever they were nervous - and Luke knew. Y/N didn't need to explain it. Luke just knew how to read them like a book. “It’s not bad,” he said sweetly with a chuckle, not wanting to put them at ill-ease. “I just wanted to chat. I miss it when we had the same shifts.” Y/N’s cheeks flushed. “Really?” “Yeah, you’re a blast.” Luke said, setting a hand on their shoulder. “I put on some coffee if you want some. Wanna catch up?” Y/N nodded, unable to speak. If they did, they might risk releasing a jumbled slew of embarrassment. “Sure.” They managed to squeak out. When Luke turned his back, Y/N jumped for joy, followed by quickly scurrying after him.

I’m feeling the same way about the Mando movie 😭 I’m worried they’re gonna use it as a way to kill off Din and have someone else take over Grogu and completely change the storyline 😭😭😭
UGHHHHHHH BB YOU READ MY MIND
i could go on forever at length about my fears, worries, and concerns for what the writers will do to our beloved Din and Grogu in this upcoming movie, but I'm trying to stay optimistic about how it could turn out.
Here are my thoughts under the cut:
Many ppl agree that the way they ended s3 with Din and Grogu was finite. A neatly wrapped up package with a bow tied on it, to end their adventures and consequently, their story within the mandalorian universe. They have their house on Nevarro, Moff Gideon is no longer a threat to Grogu and Din, and they can live the rest of their lives in peace, as father and son. I just really hope the writers heed the terrible low warnings that s3 received and use it to keep Din and Grogu as the main focus of the movie, without straying too far to focus on other characters.
I know John Favreau has already said that they have already written s4 of the Mandalorian but I can't help but think that it really will not involve much of Din and Grogu at all, given the way s3 ended. That plus the fact that they kept saying that the Mandalorian doesn't have to be about one singular Mandalorian, and that it can center around the entire Mandalorian universe as a whole, and other mandos (*cough cough* Bo-Katan *cough cough*). Consequently, with s3 centering around Bo-Katan for the majority of the season, it is pretty clear that this is the direction they are moving in. Which makes me incredibly sad, but I do understand Din and Grogu couldn't go on forever.
Plus, Pedro's filming schedule for s3 of mando was extremely rigid given his time and devotion to filming TLOU, I'm doubtful that he could have had a major role in the future seasons. Given TLOU's success paving the way for 2023 to really be Pedro's year, I feel that he is going to step back from Mando, which would align with the way the storyline for Din and Grogu is going.
I think what makes me most sad is I'm not sure which is the cause and which is the effect in this scenario. Is Pedro taking on other roles and stepping back from Mando bc he feels short changed by Disney? With how they've been writing for Din and Grogu lately? Did they start to push him to the back burner as soon as the hype around TLOU began? OR are the writers fruitlessly writing out his character and making space for the mandalorian to center around other characters bc of Pedro's rise to fame and popularity now? Rightly so, he's a hot commodity and everyone wants him starring in their projects, so it makes sense that they would take this into consideration when writing future stories for Din and Grogu.
All of this to say that I feel like the movie is the final send off we will get for Din and Grogu, which is bittersweet and heartbreaking. If I'm honest, I think I'm in my feels so deeply over the whole thing because the Mandalorian was how I found Pedro.
Other people found him through Game of Thrones as beloved Oberyn, or through Narcos as the insatiable Javi P, and some more recently discovered him as Joel in TLOU. My ex was a huge star wars fan, and I had only seen the OG trilogy (which I did enjoy), and he suggested I try watching the Mandalorian. I tried it once and didn't enjoy it, but then I gave it another watch and slowly fell in love with it. Once I found out that Pedro was the main actor, and he was the one underneath the suit?? It was over for me.
I fell HARD, down the rabbit hole. Interviews, photoshoots, his other movies and shows, you name it. Anything I could get my hands on, I consumed with a ferocity that scared my ex away lmao. So for me, this whole thing really feels like the end of an era. The end of Pedro's era as the Mandalorian, the end of a character that made me discover him, and fall in love with him. So that's why it hurts a bit more to anxiously anticipate how they will write his character out of the story line. I wish I could go back to the glory days when mando was still airing and the show was still about our beloved father son duo and their adventures, their relationship, because they are the heart and soul of the show. They are the reason I kept coming back for more, kept rewatching, kept looking for fics to consume.
UGH ALL OF THIS IS A LONG WINDED WAY OF ME SAYING THAT I CARE SO MUCH ABOUT THIS SHOW AND THESE TWO CHARACTERS. THEY ARE MY EVERYTHING AND IM VERY PROTECTIVE OVER THEM, AND I DON'T WANT THEIR TIME TO END, BUT THEY DESERVE AN HONORABLE SEND OFF WITH DIGNITY
AND IF YOU READ THIS FAR I FUCKING LOVE YOU, THANK YOU. I am always open and wanting to nerd out more about these two and my theories for them, my inbox is always open to you!
#din djarin#grogu#the mandalorian#i have so many feelings about these two and I could go on forever#if the movie is a huge fuck up and flop like s3 of mando I will continue to live in the s1 and s2 bubble in my mind#bc THOSE seasons are canon to me

Witcher Season 3 (AKA The "Final" Season 🤣😂)
Alright y'all, back at it again with my 3rd Witcher tv show "review" or whatever. S1 | S2
Disclosure: I already told y'all that I've made peace with this being the Yennefer Show, and that I'll keep watching when Liam Hensworth plays Geralt in S4, because this show ain't been about Geralt or witchers anyway--it's about the mages, obviously. Like, I don't blame Cavill for leaving, cuz if I had to play second fiddle to Yenn when I'M the titular MC, but I don't have ANY scenes, ZERO speaking lines, and NOTHING to do in my own show, then yeah I'd quit too! So I'm not gonna complain about what I WISH this show was--it will NEVER be the books or the games (definitely not Game of Thrones). Missed opportunity.
All that being said, unpopular opinion, but IMO Season 3 kinda slapped? The 2nd "volume"/part was the best BY FAR, but I genuinely liked the vast majority of the episodes. I give S3 a 9.5/10, because I actually have very few complaints about this season overall, I'm shocked. (EDIT: I have DEEProoted suspicions about a lot of naysayers/hatewatchers who say the show's "unwatchable," just because it's got a multicultural cast/"agenda"--sounds like racism to me.)
THE GOOD
The MAIN PLOT actually went somewhere!!!! A wild Vilgefortz appears! ^0^ He beat the DOG SNOT outta Geralt, YIKES! XD
One of my biggest gripes about S1 was that the show didn't focus nearly enough on THE BIG BAD, Vilgefortz. Cahir got SO MUCH screentime doing literally NOTHING for 2 whole seasons, meanwhile the rest of Geralt's Hanse was NOWHERE to be seen, and Vilgefortz was just sitting in the cut looking pretty, like wtf?
And Season 2 was barely any better!
But yeah, S3 FINALLY gave us Vilgefortz's dastardly behavior I'd been waiting for. He effed everybody up at Thanned, as I expected--that's my special evil boy! <3 (Now that Ciri jacked half his face up I'm very sad--that man is absolutely splendid to look at. A moment of silence for the eye candy, it will be missed. U_U)
THANNED. ^0^ Hoooooooly god this was great, even better than Sodden in S1. Episode 6 is the best episode in S3--such a great battle; people were dying left and right. And MAMA TISS!!!!! She went OFF! O_O
It was so sad, but ofc this was all gonna happen--they had Tissaia allllll the way up Vilgefortz's butt, so OF COURSE she was going to be crushed when he INEVITABLY betrayed her. (I don't blame you though, girl, cuz he's SO DANG PRETTY! I'd be crushed, too!) But at least Mama Tissaia got that body count up during the battle--SLAY! The way Filavandrel was just.... 🤯
Speaking of the elves, Francesca and Fringilla were put on the backburner (after dang near dominating S2); but I like the way their arcs ended, even though I felt bad for them. Very good scenes; the mages & their arcs are the very best parts of the show, as usual.
LODGE OF SORCERESSES RISE! ^0^ Dijikstra & Philippa. 😍
These freaks--I LOVE them, your honor! 😅 I was so hyped to see Geralt break Djikstra's leg, but Philippa had me ROLLING when she was like "well, it's a good thing you like pain"--I DIED! XD These kinky mofos! They're hands down one of the best parts of the whole show--I LOVE how sinister Philippa is (her bird feathers are such a great touch--whoever was in charge of her costumes & HAIR 👌), and what a simp Dijkstra is for her. It makes me so sad to know how things go for them in the video game--I sided with Dijikstra to kill Radovid, and was so hurt when he went after Thaler & Roche. But....yeah, I did pick the option to break his other leg, so....oops? XD
So yes, I'm excited to see where this show goes with Philippa and Vilgefortz; how their schemes line up (or not) with Emhyr and the Fake Ciri; and how that effects the REAL Ciri and how she eventually ends up under Avallach (I hope we get to see him on the show!).
Speaking of Ciri, we FIIIIINALLY got to see some domestic Geralt, Yenn & Ciri--even if they are on the run from assassins; and Geralt's iced Yenn out cuz she tried to sacrifice Ciri to Voleth Mier back in S2. A lot of the fandom HATED that they made S2 Yenn betray them, but I think S3 did an alright job of not retconning her, per se, but patching things up. Cuz it's NOT a good look to have your (REAL) main character (LOL) hated by the fandom for betraying her own "daughter." So was the domesticity hamfisted? YES. But was it necessary? GOD yes, otherwise what's the point of showing The Last Wish? They're supposed to be a FAMILY, so for god's sake start giving them scenes to actually SHOW us that--stfu about "destiny"!
Probably another unpopular opinion, but I liked Episode 7 with the unicorn. These are the kinds of adventures Ciri NEEDED in S1, running around some stupid empty forests doing NOTHING is different from learning how to survive on her own in a strange wilderness, encountering strange creatures, and tapping into the good AND bad sides of her magic.
And oooooh my god, the GOAT has returned.
A lot of...hrm...interesting conversations were had as Ciri was hallucinating in the desert, with love of my life Grandmama Calanthe, as well as Pavetta & Falka. It's a shame that Ciri didn't get this kind of development MUCH earlier in the series. Too little too late? We'll have to see where Ciri's plot goes with the Rats in S4 to find out if her new whole Chaos/Fire magic arc is worth it.
AT LONG EFFING LAST, we're getting some HANSE ACTION!!!
I've been SO EFFING SICK of Cahir. I'm glad Ciri finally got closure with him from SEASON ONE, and that he's FINALLY in the Hanse now--took y'all long enough, ffs! And Milva's interesting so far, so I'm glad to see her around, giving Geralt & Dandelion grief. So in S4 all we need now is Angie, and YA BOI!!! ^0^
THE BAD
I wish Mistle and the Rats were better established--the whole Wyvern thing wasn't done very well or made much sense, and Mistle & Ciri should've had WAY more scenes. I wasn't feeling any chemistry between them, which is annoying, since Ciri's a lesbian in my TW3 game--is the show gonna go with hetero Ciri instead? Or is her love of Mistle gonna be what pulls Ciri out of the Fire/Chaos dark arc they're teasing for S4? 👀
What's annoying is that we already had a Dark!Ciri arc in S2 though, and EVERYONE hated it. We see Yenn reconcile betraying Ciri, but where's Ciri reconciliation for slaughtering all those witchers at Kaer Morhen? 😡 First she's possessed by Voleth Mier, now she's possessed by Falka? This show's great at focusing on Yenn & the mages, but leaves Ciri in the same ditch over & over--it's irritating.
Ep5 was a LAME way to end the first half/"volume," I hated that episode. The whole ball just bored me, with the dancing and singing--I get it--"all is not *clap clap* as it seems," stfu already. I didn't care. It was OBVIOUS Stregebor was being framed; WTF was that mop on Istredd's head; WHY was Triss the only one with a braincell who cared that students were going missing when apparently the school's SO strict; why don't these mages start TELEPORTING for once, and stop running around SLOW AF; how the HECK did y'all let HUMAN Dijkstra jump a WHOLE SCHOOL OF MAGES--this is an utter embarrassment. Usually the mages are the only thing this show gets RIGHT, so to see them all faceplant like this was just baffling & frustrating.
And again with the monoliths--how do y'all NOT KNOW these things are here!? Same with the one hidden in Kaer Morhen, like REALLY? NO ONE's medallion is going off? Omg. Istredd! You STUDY these things! Start TEACHING these drunk AF mages a thing or two--this is why Vilgefortz and Dijikstra wiped the floor with y'all on your own turf! 🤦
THE UGLY
The pacing was SLOW AF. Episodes 3-5 particularly dragged.
Everything with Cahir I wish was in S2 instead. That elf was GORGEOUS and I hated to see him go, but what was the point of all that again? I almost expected him & Cahir to start banging! (My perv brain; I need help, y'all. U_U)
Speaking of!
ALLLLLLL this mess about Dandelion & Radovid.
What "ripple effects"? XD It was UNNECESSARY. We all know Radovid's a disgusting genocidal racist psychopath and Dandelion's a womanizing old man--I'm not interested in seeing Radovid going through all this effort to seduce Dandelion, just to DOUBLE CROSS him to get to Ciri, like wtF? TBH, I feel like we were queerbaited, yeah I said it. 😤
And it's SO unfair how we have alllll these sex scenes with naked women's vajayjays & boobs all over the place--even Philippa got in on the action, hey hey hey! ;) --but we never get to see man-on-man action!? Wow, they kissed, SO WHAT!? Men never get full frontal nudity and it ticks me off, cuz naked women are just all over TV, meanwhile the dudes don't show SQUAT, and it's happened AGAIN.
Anyways, those are my only real complaints; otherwise I liked S3, it was much better than S2 IMO. Just don't expect too much--turn your brain off, and accept that this show doesn't gaf about Geralt (or even Ciri really) whatsoever. I'm here for Yennefer, Vilgefortz, and to see the Lodge of Sorceresses make themselves an absolute menace under Philippa so that Radovid literally flips his wig (that horrible weave MUST go in S4) and effs everything up for mages & non-humans.

YOOOOO IT'S MY WEEKEND and I have eaten dinner and it is time for MORE SHE-RA
yayyyy
OH GOD we're getting into the really good shit btw
if I manage not to do a marathon of these it'll be a gd miracle
Usual reminder: this is a REwatch and there's spoilers ahoy, I make a lot of bad jokes, I reference other cartoons
s4 ep10 fractures
okay before we get started
ahahah
I've given in. I'm gonna cosplay Catra. >_< wish me luck, I'm aiming for some kinda loosely post-canon thing, in part because there's no hiding my age at this point, except via like, photoshop pfft
side note the place I was looking at that makes custom fangs based on dental impressions is usually a month and change out, and the con I want to wear this to is in mid-April. *GROAN*
I have tried the cheap ones they don't stay on D:
OKAY
Dialogue is Double Trouble. Why are you even in the room??
oh it's a truth-telling spell lol
(it didn't work)
LOLOL the disbelief in Double Trouble's voice. "Can she do that?"
oh my GOD (yes it's Double Trouble)
but their Adora looks like Johnny Bravo aaahaha
Double Trouble does blow a raspberry at Shadow Weaver, tho, so they're forgiven
Adora explains the Heart of Etheria Project
Shadow Weaver: oooh we can use this to our advantage Me: okay Boromir but NO
nO
Adora's about to blow a fuse, but I would be, too! Like what part of "the planet could explode" is fucking difficult
Meanwhile, Catra is watching porn video feeds of places the Horde has taken
and thinks she spots someone!!!
(she hasn't, and she makes a sad little face when she realizes)
yeah she's being a bitch but also her deranged little face is great
OR EVERYONE COULD DIE. THERE'S ALSO THAT.
YAYYYY
does anyone else remember the old video "what your fave she-ra ship says about you"? this was made just after s4 actually. anyway I'm remembering it because it includes the line "you just want good things for Scorpia. and really, who wouldn't?"
youtube
Daci and I, for a while, couldn't stop quoting the ContraPoints clip used early on to reference "The inherent eroticism of the sea."
"MMmmm yeah. Don't you wanna just...get in there?"
It's a really funny video (I am called out SEVERAL TIMES) and the channel did a bunch of similar videos for other shows.
(also looking at the home page of the channel, she's a she now!!!! HELL YEAH)
Anyway everyone is surprised to see Scorpia :D
And their initial reaction is Not Good D:
the poor thing accidentally stuns Perfuma (...oh god that'S HILARIOUS knowing later stuff)
well that stops Adora in her tracks
back in the Fright Zone, Catra thinks she hears Scorpia's laugh and again is visibly relieved before realizing she's wrong
babygirl you need some rest (and so do your soldiers), you are getting paranoid and hearing things
so what, you're going to torture the rest of the soldiers who haven't left????
(I understand why she does the things she does but I still want to shake some sense into her)
JUST GET SOME GD SLEEP
she tries to call Double Trouble, but they don't answer
I want to give her a hug. But also shake some sense into her.
Another one to add to my "cartoon bondage" collection, as one does. But Perfuma is clearly a little smitten, though: she smiles as she walks away and makes a flower grow in the vines, awwwww
okay oh my GOD okay Scorpia's dialogue is KILLING ME i am CACKLING
"Wow...Yeah, but just-- Shadow Weaver. And at Bright Moon. Everything is making so much sense about why Catra's been acting the way she has."
Adora goes wide-eyed at Catra's name, Shadow Weaver looks at her, and then Adora looks away, pissed off.
like I was saying: SMITTEN
Anyway Scorpia explains why she wants to go find/save Entrapta, who's on Beast Island, and:
bahaha
they relate various stories about the horrors of Beast Island and Shadow Weaver insists they're nicer than the actual place, it's starting to sound like some bad joke about Etheria's version of Australia
I mean also you should go get her because she shouldn't be stuck there but okay
They all decide to go to Beast Island to rescue Entrapta but Glimmer is having NONE of it
Glimmer: "Adora, have you ever heard of anyone coming back from Beast Island? Do you even know where it is?"
I mean, good points, but
aaaugh
Bow: "There's an unstable mass of magic in the middle of the planet. Everyone's at risk unless we can get Entrapta to shut it down."
OKay I'm not typing up the whole damn episode you can read the transcript if you really want to, lol they argue about this for a bit longer, Glimmer even recommends they ask Light Hope how to use it even though that's a terrible idea, Glimmer tries to appeal to Bow but Bow is on Adora's side on this one
oh honey, no
She tries to order Bow and Adora to stay in the castle and not leave
Scorpia's "prison cell" is a very nice spare room. Perfuma brings her a salad and Scorpia doesn't recognize it as food immediately, the poor thing has only ever had ration bars.
Frosta: "It's not a sleepover!!! Perfuma: ":D I'll get pillows, brb!"
But then Frosta asks about her pincers with genuine interest and makes ones for herself out of ice...and Scorpia starts to cry
;_;
;_;
GO. TO. BED. oh my god
I RAN OUT OF IMAGES fhghgh okay gonna reblog

Lmk s4 spoilers (under the cut) (gonna talk about Demon Lore™) (EPs 1-10)
I adore the thing this season is doing.
I feel like it's most apparent start is with Pigsy trying to get Sandy to come to his senses.
When Sandy is asking for the monster. He's asking for that fierce demon inside of Pigsy to come out. He's literally asking Pigsy to kill him. To win the fight.
And though Pigsy does give in for a bit, he comes to his senses and declares that he is not a monster.
Next instance I recall is the ink demon telling MK that he's a monster. That they're both monsters. That they should give into that fact and admit that that's what they are. And then MK's body starts glitching out because maybe he's starting to believe it.
Azure lion telling DBK he's gone soft. He's no longer the monster he once was. DBK has a family now. Azure makes it clear that his love for his family is what made him weak. Which arguably, it's what endears us as an audience to DBK. It's what makes him less of a monster to us.
Peng calling for Nezha's inner demon child. He's aware of Nezha's childhood as a demon. He wants Nezha to stop holding back. To stop pretending he's not just like the rest of them. He WANTS Nezha to go all apeshit on him.
Because to Azure, Peng, and presumably Golden Tusk, they're all collared guard demons.
They watched their sworn brother Wukong be turned from their wild leader into a collared guard for the Jade Emperor.
And I have a feeling that it scared them more than they may admit.
And I just,,, hoo. My thoughts are so scattered I'm so excited.
In my mind I'm also wondering if this relates to Macaque wanting MK to go apeshit back in season 1 so he could steal his power.
AND IT RELATES TO A POPULAR HC THAT MACAQUE DIED TRYING TO SAVE SWK FROM HIS PUNISHMENT BY TRYING TO GET THE MONKEY TO GO APESHIT WITH HIM AGAIN.
Anyways.
Just. Ouuugh. With Azure in power it's making me think. Like... I know his plan was that he wanted to help those misfortunate or whatever. Or at least wanted to help his own people. But who is that at this point? Everyone? Demons? Just his brotherhood? Does he have the power now to magically change people's minds??? What powers did the jade emperor even have??? Will Azure have them now???

Do u have any specific things ud like to see n the new stranger things? :>c
HRHGHRGHH . YES . A LOT OF THINGS . SORRY THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG ONE ↓
Mike and Max friendship; I KNOW it's probably not gonna happen bc there is Shit Going On and they are probably not going to have time for slice of life interactions (this is going to be a reoccurring theme on this list methinks) but the little crumbs of madwheeler bestieism we get make me CRAZY like they are so similar in a lot of ways but also the opposite sides of a coin (e.g. uncaring family situation, Mike coming from wealth and Max from poverty) and every time we see a flashback of the events directly prior to s4 they're next to each other and it only makes me crazier .. I just want like ONE scene of them being platonic best friends PLEASE
Will happy ending; this can mean a lot of different things tbh I just cannot have him die or end unhappy .. this also means that anyone he cares about has to be safe too like Joyce and Jonathan and El and the rest of his friends!! if he's not unequivocally happy in the final episode I will change the trajectory of the Duffer Brothers lives
Eddie flashbacks; like how we see the aftermath of Max's brother's death effecting her, I want to see Dustin mourn too (I mean, I don't Want to see it, I want him to be happy, but like. I want to see it. you know what I mean.) also the rest of Hellfire, especially Lucas and Mike and Erica .. show their reactions too I'm begging . my little pet headcanon is that Eddie made Mike realize some things about himself (🤨🏳️🌈❓) (not in a ship way I'm not a freak I just think he had an Awakening) so like seeing him process Eddie's death would be so. it'd be so
Byers-Hopper found family; I think I am almost guaranteed this in some way but I'm still crossing my fingers for it! show me WillEl twin behavior or ELSE
more siblingism in general; I appreciate s4 for giving me more Lucas and Erica screentime crumbs bc they are so sweet and I love their sibling dynamic sm, I wish we got more of that with Mike and Nancy as well like remember in s1 when they were like "no more secrets between us!" and then didn't fucking do anything with that. let them be siblings please
Byl3r (<- censoring for superstitious reasons a.k.a. I do not want to invoke ship discourse here); I have extremely controversial thoughts abt this ship, like as in I don't . I don't really think the writers are gonna . no I shan't say for fear of my life . but it'd be nice if it did!!!! Will deserves to get what he wants all the time always
Steve surviving; I am so fucking scared
parallels between Will and Henry; weird little boys with strange(!!) powers and trauma....... I think they're probably going to do this at least subtly considering the lines are already there in s4 but if they were more direct I'd be happy, I'd probably care a lot more about Henry's whole thing if Will was involved I'm not gonna lie to you
Max getting out of That Whole Situation; I'm not saying what exactly happens at the end of s4 because Ro might be reading this and we haven't watched the end together yet & I don't think he knows what happens . Ro if you are reading this it's fine everything is fine but also it's so not fine and I'm so scared and afraid. Max bestie we gotta get you out of there
more Argyle; speaks for itself, I'm obsessed w that funky lil stoner & I need him to give Jonathan more terrible therapy it's awesome
El autism diagnosis; this one is a joke. or is it. no it is. or is it
time travel; I'll get a little more into this down there ↓ but I think it's likely to be an element of s5 .. we'll see
now hear me out. here's some things I either do Not want or would be very nervous if they included:
Eddie coming back; WAIT STOP HEAR ME OUT PLEASE .. I want him to not be dead as much as the next Eddie fan and I think the ending they gave him was complete horse shit awful. but I also do NOT have any faith that they'd do a bringing-him-back storyline properly . I've read some good fanfic about it which only would make the reality of whatever they'd do more disappointing ! BUT the exception to this is if they pull some time travel bs, which I think is a good possibility tbh, like with the upside down being stuck in the day Will went missing and stuff, and then they could prevent all that from happening in the first place. I'd still be nervous about the quality of the writing but I'm on board w this conclusion nonetheless! but Eddie coming back as Kas or whatever.. well. I'd just be nervous putting that in the hands of the stranger writers I'm sorry
M!leven endgame (<- censoring for superstitious reasons a.k.a. I do not want to invoke ship discourse here); I just don't know how anyone likes them romantically I'm ngl . it's fine if you do please do not come for me I just don't get it . I fear they will end up together anyway but I don't like it . I'm a Mike apologist but El deserves better than a guy that can't even physically say that he loves her
Will with a gun; this sounds like a joke but I'm so serious hglkjfdgk, I know a lot of people want him having a badass moment with a gun mirroring the shot in s1 where he's taken by the demogorgon and that sounds cool but I just. don't think it suits his character I'M SORRYYY I love that he's a protagonist who's gentle and sensitive, there are other characters who can kick ass violent style rather than my special little dude
anyway that's just off the top of my head, I have so many thoughts swirling around in there so I might be back to add more thank you so much
