“…huh. Well, that could have been a lot worse. I can do some research on that potion to figure out some side effects…” [Yuume takes out his phone and starts typing, most likely looking stuff up.]
[Chase, however, perks up.] “Oh, that potion! I remember reading something about it before, the side effects are really weird!” [Chase shrugs before continuing.] “It’s partially connected to emotions for some reason, so its side effects influence those one feels strongly towards! Basically, it’s a two-in-one! Part genderbend—unless you’re some flavor of enby—and part…well, depends on the person! It’s sort of like a personality swap? Grumpy people can become more affectionate and bubbly, shy people can become uncharacteristically confident and talkative, et cetera et cetera!”
“…that was a lot to drop at once.”
“Meh, the creators wanted some silly stuff to happen.”
“What?”
“Huh, whaddid I say?”
“O-Okay, I found an antidote, but…” [Yuume puts his phone down for a moment.] “I-It’ll take an hour or so to make, because you have to let it sit for a while…otherwise there’ll be negative side effects…”
“…oh.”
“Well…I don’t feel any different!” [Chase says, spinning in place.]
“Neither do I, but that’s probably because we met Lewis and the others yesterday…”
“Oh, right! Hehe!”
[Shiyuu runs up to your party.] “Aaah! Finally, someone stable!” [they dust off their clothes before continuing.] “Mind if I uh…join you guys? I don’t have much, but…but I can fight!”
[They show the satchel of small rocks with a slingshot, and the broom on their back.] “I also have supplies if you guys need some…O-Oh, and I’m Shiyuu by the way! I-In case you didn’t know that…”

*James presses forward and extends a hand before Yuna sighs*
James, we don't have time for this.

Still one of my favorite scenes I've ever written. I put my entire soul in this roleplay.
His army, defeated, was standing at his feet, crushed. Not even one of his men escaped the terrible fire that took them in the prime of life. He was the only one still alive. The last general, imprisoned by his mortal enemy who was planning to take his life too in a few moments. He felt bitter. Humiliated.
Even his own brother, sleeping for the gods knew how long at his post, didn't make the slightest movement when the dragon swooped down on his back in a final fight as intense as tiring. But all hope died when the beast forced him to enter its cavern.
Tied on a small pink plastic chair, the general watched the dragon as they hummed along while preparing the vile potion that would end his days, without glory nor honor. Soon after he had been dragged here, the courthouse condemned him to drink the terrible beverage, on the orders of Bashu, the evil penguin leading the appraisal, and to die in horrible sufferings. Yet, the general stayed dignified. He wouldn't give the dragon the pleasure of seeing him break down.
Satisfied with their work, the dragon turned around holding a plastic cup in their hands. They put it on the table with a dramatic slowness. Without mercy, they pointed out the drink, as dark as the night, with their paw. It was an order. He had to drink it. The general sighed. This was the end of the road.
His hands shaking with emotion, he struggled to grab the very small handle of the plastic cup with his fingers. He lifted the potion, being very cautious to not spill any of it - he had standards and was very afraid of Mommy Dragon, who warned him that she'll trash him if he messed up the floor she just cleaned -, he then put the beverage in his mouth.
The potion acted rapidly and the general started to spasm violently. With a dramatic gurgling, he fell on his back on the ground, arms stretched on each side of his body. He would have let his tongue out if he had one. Dead. He was dead.
But as he was delivering his final breath, the dragon abruptly changed their mind and threw themself on his ribcage, trying to reanimate him.
"Papy? Papy, don't die!" the dragon screamed, terrified. "I'm sorry! Please wake up!"
Their lips started to shake and tears filled their eyes, which immediately woke up the furor of Mommy Dragon, who stood up angrily. Toriel - it was her name -, kicked his pelvis hard and picked up her kid.
"Can't you see you're scaring Frisk stupid moron?! Wake up!"
The general growled, but Mommy Dragon was growling stronger, shutting him up quite immediately with one murderous glare.
Papyrus decided it was enough for this play session that slowly turned sour. Frisk, disguised as a dragon, struggled in their mother's arms to get down. She conceded and immediately got welcomed with a guilt-inducing look from the child, arms crossed angrily.
"No hit Papy!" they lectured her. "Papy nice!"
"Of course, sweetheart. I won't do anything to him… Yet. It depends how fast your friend is going to clean everything he took out of the toy box in the next thirty seconds."
The skeleton crossed his arms, analyzing what could happen if he disobeyed, but he concluded the risk was too important. She was a boss monster, after all. Grudgingly, he started to throw the wood soldiers back in the box, aggressively, so everyone could see he was pissed off. In addition, he strongly kicked the armchair where his brother had been napping since they came, two hours ago. The smaller skeleton lost his balance and fell head first onto the blue carpet. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to wake him up.
Papyrus sighed. How did it come to this? From captain of the royal guard to nanny for a five-year-old human child, he should have killed long ago. If someone told him it would have happened a few months ago, he would have roared with laughter. But Frisk was not an ordinary human child. They were the seventh and last human soul the monsters needed to break the barrier and destroy humanity, except that Captain Papyrus was now protecting them from that exact fate right under Asgore's nose.
No weakness, chapter 1.

I changed my mind, and decided to que this up immediately after posting the first one. I won't be home when you see this because I'm attending a funeral, but tell me what you think of it and I will see you when I get home!
Note: this was made on Google docs mobile, so when I get a chance I will actually use tab instead of just paragraphs.
"Wars, you said you knew the area!"
"I thought I did, but this is sure as hell not the same way I remember! Those ruins we passed back there? Those are completely new to me! This forest? I don't even recognize half of these plants! We should have reached a town hours ago!"
"Hey, stop fighting, you two, or-"
The group Link had been following for the last few hours came to a halt as the one with pink-tipped hair argued with the one with a blue scarf. He couldn't tell if they were a threat yet, they just seemed like lost travelers. Then again, that was the main way the Yiga clan tried to trick him.
Pinky and Wars kept arguing, until finally the smallest one in rainbow colors seemed to snap. "How about we admit it. We are lost, and just happened to find something that reminded Wars of home. It was NOONE's fault, because we ignored the obvious signs something was wrong. Now, we are lost in the middle of a forest, and unless you have an idea of what we should do, then SHUT UP!"
The group all seemed shocked by his outburst, Link and the rainbow included, and once they all seemed to get over it, the kid apologized. "Sorry, I didn't mean to yell."
The oldest one, probably the leader, said, "No, it's ok. Today has been a long day, and everyone seems on edge. Perhaps we should set up camp early, does that sound good to everyone?"
The group nodded collectively, and started to set up in the clearing that could barely fit all of them. The one in a green tunic and no pants volunteered for the night's first watch, and while it wouldn't be for a while, they seemed relaxed a bit more by the fact someone was willing to do it.
Link, who had been hiding a good distance away from them, stood up. He got a stealth potion that would last him a few hours at least ready, then decided he would investigate that night.
As the sun set, an awful smell enveloped the forest. "Legend, what did you do?!"
"I don't know! It was fine a minute ago!"
"It's smoking! How did you burn SOUP of all things?!"
"I didn't burn it, it just got too hot!"
"Because you ****ed up, Legend! That's literally how things burn up!"
"Wind, watch your mouth."
Link had just come back from following the path the group of strangers had taken, looking to see if they dropped anything interesting, when he heard the commotion. It smelled like burning hair or that one shrine he had found with the awful cook. Maybe they were cousins?
As Link got closer to get a better look, he saw four people standing around a large cooking pot with a brown/green liquid with chunks in it. Pathetic. Are all of them as bad cooks as that one? Link was amazed they had survived however long they had been traveling.
Pinkey poked the 'soup' with a wooden ladle. "It's still edible, look, the vegetables seem cooked enough."
"With all due respect, I don't know if I would want to eat that," the kid in a blue shirt said with a grimace. "I don't know if anyone else would either."
The old one took the ladle and used it to try a small sip of what they were calling a soup, and his face scrunched up immediately.
"Uh, Time?" The blue kid tapped the man's shoulder.
The man swallowed the drink, coughed, then said, "It is… certainly better than last time."
A few of the others gave their opinions, from encouraging to neutral, before deciding it was better than nothing.
None of them looked that happy about it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After what theoretically could have been called dinner, the one in the green tunic, which Link had identified as being named "Hyrule," started circling around the camp, gradually making them larger and larger before returning close and starting again. Near the middle of the third round, Link drank his stealth potion and snuck into the campsite.
There was a young adult in tan with a tall belt, there was a boy in blue(wind), there was a kid in rainbow, there was a young adult with a wolf pelt on his shoulders, still on in his sleep for some reason, there was one in red with pink hair tips(legend), and then there was the leader. Link got a good look at him. He had a fancy set of armour, a big sword, a bad eye, but the strangest thing was he had familiar markings covering his face. They were almost the same…
As the ones Link saw in nearly every mirror, looking right back at himself.
"Time?"
Link turned towards the voice to see the one called Hyrule looking at him. He had to play this right. "Yes?"
"Oh, thank the goddess. What are you up to?"
"I couldn't sleep, so I was going to see if you wanted off early." This was dangerous. If he realized the real Time was sleeping soundly next to him, he would wake up all the others, and then he'd have eight grumpy travelers armed to the teeth on his trail in seconds.
"You sure that's ok with you?"
"Yes, get some rest."
"Thanks, Time," the boy said with a smile. "I will."
Link somewhat directed Hyrule towards the opposite side of where Time was. He was extremely lucky the fire was ruining the boy's night vision.
"Time?"
Link stopped and turned his head a bit. "Yeah?"
There was a pause. "Thank you for being here for us."
Link smiled. "You don't have to mention it," mimicking the somewhat fancy way he had heard Time use words. "Goodnight."
Hyrule mumbled it back, seemingly exhausted from the travel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, Hyrule woke up feeling well rested. The birds were singing a song only they knew, the trees provided shade from the early morning sun, the wind rustled leaves and bushes softly, and a nice smell emanated from the cooking pot.
Wait, did someone cook something edible? Hyrule shot up, feeling excited to see what had made someone unlock their inner cook.
"Hey, mornin, Hyrule!"
"Goodmorning, Wind! What's cooking?"
Wind was grinning like an idiot. "No idea, but none of us made it, that's for sure! Four woke up and saw it cooking, then woke up the rest of us, except for you and sky. Time says you didn't wake him up for his shift, so we thought you could use some re-"
Hyrule was confused. "Wait, what? Run that by me one more time."
Wind's grin fell just a little bit, before coming back up. "Four woke up first, saw something was cooking, and woke everyone but you and sky because we thought you must have kept watch the whole night. Is that not what happened?"
"Yeah, Time said he couldn't sleep last night, so he took over the watch early for me."
Time, who had been listening in, said "I think I would know my sleep schedule better than you would. You didn't wake me up last night, and I didn't wake myself up, that's for certain."
"Then who-"
Four hit the pot a few times. "Breakfast is ready, guys!"
The questions could wait. Nobody had had a good meal for at least a week or two, so they were excited to try the mysterious meal.
It. Was. Delicious!
After discussion, it was determined to be a mushroom, meat and rice based meal. The meat used was probably venison, and a high quality type at that. It was served with some mushrooms nobody recognized but everybody loved, and a strange rice they couldn't find an exact comparison of.
Idle conversation was of generally positive things and how beautiful the world was. All of their problems seemed far away, and the day promised to be a great one. As the last of the food was eaten up, and the bowl was starting to be wiped as clean as it would get, Twilight brought up the question on everyone's mind.
"I wonder who made this for us."
"Maybe it was a ghost!" Wind exclaimed.
"Maybe it was a passing traveler?" Four said at the same time.
Legend laughed. "It was not a ghost, you idiot!"
"You don't know that," Wind huffed. "I met a ghost once, she was nice!"
"You did NOT meet a ghost!"
"Yeah I did!"
"Cut it out you two," Time said with his signature 'stop' look. "Whoever did it, they must have been a nice person. Don't argue about things this good, ok?"
"Ok!" Wind said. Legend just scoffed.
Nobody noticed the person sitting on top of a tree, fiddling a strange ocarina.
I hope this was ok! I will be the first to admit my writing style isn't the best, but I think this is one of my better works at the moment. Comments and criticism is appreciated, and I may edit this if I find stupid things I want to change/fix. I should be home Friday, probably Thursday afternoon. Anyway, see you next time!

~
"Well I still think you're missing out," Lilly stated after a long rant and because of how sweet she was, she had decided to stop her mouth right at that sentence.
You only laughed lightly, pushing through the student body with Lily Evans hot on your robe. "Sneaking out to Hogsmeade is something I'm fine with missing out on."
She shook her head, determination settling hard in her brow. "That's beside the point."
"Then what is the point?" You asked, hugging your textbook closer to your chest. When you noticed that the auburn-haired girl was no longer by your side you bunched your brows together and turned around. "Lily? Lily, what are you doing?"
Her eyes were wide, bright green eyes blazing at you. "You seriously have no idea?"
You had idea of course. So much so that you felt embarrassed by the mere thought of it…
Him.
"Come Lily. We're late for Potions."
She shook her head and followed you reluctantly, only because she knew that your professor would surely be disappointed if you two showed up late. Lily and you were after all, Horace Slughorn's favorite students.
"This isn't over," She mumbled.
Perhaps for her it wasn't. Lily Evans tended to see the best in all people. It was the good in her that made her give in to James Potter little after Christmas this year after hating him her entire schooling at Hogwarts.
"He matured a lot," she would tell you, and while that might have been true for James it surely wasn't true for the boy you laid your desires upon.
Sirius Black.
Either he was purposely ignoring you, or he really was a dimwit.
***
"Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the world. It is distinctive for its mother-of-pearl sheen, and steam rises from the potion in spirals." Horace Slughorn informed, keeping a safe distance from the steaming love potion. The rest of the girls in the class not so much. Each of them neared the potion little by little with a boy in mind. Lily and you both shared the same thoughts as those love-obsessed girls – only you didn't show it. Despite having boys in mind, Lily and you stood put.
"Lily, dear, how about you come here and tell us what you smell?"
You hard-pressed your shoulder against hers as she smiled shyly, obvious to what she was going to smell. James Potter stood at the other end of the assembly of students, looking at his lovely girlfriend with pure adornment.
For a second, they had you wondering if you could ever find love like that.
"Do you know why I asked Lily to tell us what she smells?" Horace asked, sending you a look that had a simple meaning.
"Because the potion is supposed to smell differently to each of us, according to what attracts us…" You answered quickly, just like he wanted you to.
"Marvelous Y/N. Good job," Slughorn praised you whilst ushering Lily to tell you all what she smelt. From the corner of your eye you managed to catch James' sly smirk as his eyes darted from you, to his very uninterested friend.
Sirius Black.
You swallowed, focusing your eyes on your best friend that stood in front of the potion, holding her hair so it doesn’t fall into the potion with a face as red as a tomato. "Vanilla, freshly cut oranges and –"
He cheeks flamed even more if that was even possible. She dashed away from the love potion and stood back next to you without revealing the third thing, although everyone knew already. James was grinning like an idiot. "What was the third smell?"
She shyly turned her mouth to your ear, "James' quidditch uniform."
You laughed out loud before Lily shushed you down frantically.
It was all fun and games until Horace called out for you, "Y/N would you mind telling us what you smell? Don't be shy now, come."
A part of you wanted to say "Yes, professor I would mind." but the other more rational, and smarter part of you had tied your hands behind your back in defeat. Lily gave you a push and sooner than later you found yourself standing over the love potion.
"I-I smell…" You inhaled slowly, the potion's fumes filling you up. Several different scents found their way into your nostrils, making you have a hard time deciphering them because of the sensual overdrive they gave you. "Roses…the smell of sea and-"
"Oh no," you mumbled, barely audible for everyone but yourself.
"Was there something you wanted to say dear?" Horace asked, having heard your mumbling barely.
"No…I um, smell petrichor," You stated somewhat awkwardly but very, very quickly. "You know, um, when the r-rain hits the ground…"
"Ah, yes," realization dawned upon your professor. "A lovely smell. A lovely smell indeed. Very well, miss Y/LN thank you. You may go back to your place."
Lily Evans waited for you, beaming, "Mind telling me what the third smell was?"
"Shut it Lily."
"But I told you mine!"
***
You glanced at the sign above the pink looking door and sighed. Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, it said. You had known about this small tea shop that was located on a side road off the High Street in Hogsmeade Village even before you had arrived at Hogwarts. A boy from Hufflepuff had taken you there on a date once, sometime during your fifth year. It wasn't an especially pleasant memory, being cramped and surrounded by snogging couples at only 15 with a boy you didn't particularly like that way. Nevertheless, it had happened, and there was nothing you could do about the lingering memory.
The overall cute place was owned by Madam Puddifoot; the same woman who dearly welcomed you in the moment you stepped through the door.
You hoped to spot Lily there, after all that's why you were there. When the front of your little notebook changed under the influence of the Protean charm, you knew it was Lily instantly. While the Marauders had their own tricks, maps and such, Lily and you had thought of something far more practical. It would do you good, the charm, as it was expected to be known by every student that wants to take the N.E.W.T.
A win-win situation that was.
But although Lily Evans was nowhere to be seen, you still decided to sit down, trusting her not to pull any tricks on you. Save for the snowy weather, your day has been good so far and you didn’t want anyone to disrupt it.
Cautiously, you sat down and leaned against the plush sofa, discarding your scarf and coat along the way.
"What can I get ya lovely?" A sweet woman asked, hearts practically swimming within her irises. A pale pink apron with daisies was secured tightly around her waist, dolling her up prettily.
"I actually won't be staying, I'm waiting for-" You started, although you were sure in the fact you were going to have to buy gilly water at the very least. Even waiting comes at a price here.
But that didn't seem to be the case as the bells jingle and a dark figure waltzes through. The ladies' man, a member of the Marauders that had the most beautiful features pursued by impeccable dark hair and grey eyes walked in without a care in the world. Sirius didn't know it, but he had your toes curling every time.
You immidiately glanced around the cute shop, seeing nothing but loving couples.
No lone girl in the shop save for you.
Realization struck you in the gut and you swallowed, wanting now more than ever to disappear into a hole…or turn into a little bird and fly away.
His eyes swept across the stuffed shop, getting attention of several girls who were obviously there on a date. Boys exchanged distasteful glances between themselves, sensing Sirius to be an equal competitor that could easily give them a run for their money. "Y/N?"
You dared to say his voice softened upon seeing you. "Sirius."
Sirius' smile widened teasingly. It looked like the smile he would give his best of friends.
But you didn't want that. Not that you would tell him that.
He glanced around the shop once again before slipping into the free chair opposite of you. Without a care in the world, he stripped his snowy coat off his shoulders, his muscles tensing under the movements.
You swallowed.
"I'll have some butterbeer thank you," Sirius said, pulling out a generous amount of sickles for the waiting waitress you forgot was even standing there.
"And the lovely lady?" She mused, giving you a wink.
"Pumkin juice." You choke out.
Like a real gentleman, Sirius halted your attempt to pay for your drink with a raised hand and a wink.
Why does everyone keep winking?
You shook your head at the rogue thought.
"4 sickles young lad."
Sirius handed her the coins and she disappeared, leaving a trail of literal hearts whisking underneath her steps. "Talk about exaggeration."
Sirius' low chuckle at your random comment had you flustered immediately.
"So –" You both voiced at the same time.
"No, you first." You said quickly, brushing some misplaced strands of hair out of the way.
"You can go fi-"
You gave Serius the look you would usually give Remus and James many times on many different occasions; the one that said not to argue with you. Only this time it felt like a completely different look. It intrigued the stubborn boy even more; dragging him deeper into the pit of feelings he had for you.
"Fine," he said, casually twining his fingers atop the table. "I have a question."
"Um…o-kay."
He smiled at your nervousness and decided at that moment to just blurt out the question that's been nagging him since it happened. "What did you smell during potions yesterday?"
"Y-you mean when I smelled the Amortentia?" The strongest love potion ever created that had the ability to reveal ones biggest attractions with a simple sniff. “That potion?”
"Mhmm," he said. "If you tell me what you smelled, I'll tell you what I smelled."
"You must be bloody joking," You exclaimed. Almost everyone knew that you smelled someone. Not just the rain and roses. Someone.
Unlike with Lily, they had no idea who it was.
No one knew save for Lily who probably told James.
Who probably told Remus?
Remus, Peter…
Sirius.
A million thoughts raced through your head. What at first was a blind date will turn out to be the biggest prank the Marauders ever pulled on someone. The biggest prank in Marauders history. You were sure of it.
"I-I should go," you muttered, grabbing your bag and coat in a haste to get out.
Sirius' eyes went wide in alarm, "What are you doing, Y/N? Where are you going?"
"Away from you," You said sternly. "I don't plan on being your new plaything so just leave me alone."
"Woah, woah, woah. Why would you think that?" He asked with what looked like genuine confusion as he held your hands in a vise grip to stop you from leaving.
"B-because…" Words stopped coming once you realized.
Telling him the reason behind it would ruin everything.
"Because you like me?"
You stared at him in shock, eyes widened to the size of a quidditch snitch. No, a bludger. "I don't know what to say to that."
Sirius outright laughed at you and your attempt to conceal what you both already knew, "Look…"
You swallowed.
"I like you too Y/N."
"I know, so let's just forget this ever happen- Wait what did you just say?"
The two of you were, unbeknownst to you in that moment, holding hands atop the cute table, looking like a real couple at that moment to anyone who walked into the shop.
"I like you," He repeated slowly, more audibly for you to comprehend this time. "I know I've been a…"
"Bully," You butted in quickly.
"No I wasn't!"
"Severus begs to differ," You reminded.
"Whatever," Sirius brushed you off, tightening his hold on your two hands. Warmth seemed to come off him in waves, making it all the more comfortable to be in his hold. No wonder girls fawned around him. "What I'm trying to say is – the four of us were idiots, and you were the girl I thought I didn't deserve."
You almost melted.
"So, when I saw what James has with Lily," He confessed. "I wanted that…but with you."
"So why didn't you come up to me?"
"Thought you'd reject me," He said quickly.
"True."
The way he looked at you had you tumbling down your brain for word, "B-but you've changed… And I like you too Sirius."
"I'd like to take you out somewhere else," Sirius proposed. "If you'd have me."
"Of course," You smiled, for the first time freely. "I'd like that very much."
Never in a million years would you have guessed this would be happening; Sirius standing behind you, helping you with your coat…
And holding your hand on the way out.
"You still didn't tell me."
“Tell you what?”
"What you smelled in the Amortentia."
The question didn't sound so attacking as it did 10 minutes ago, and you felt like you could answer it with more ease. "You really want to know?"
"Yes, I would like that very much."
"Fine," You stopped somewhere in the middle of the square, feeling quite brave and bold. "You."
He didn't look surprised, maybe relieved more than surprised. The relief shone in his grey eyes, you could see it. His long black hair blew against the wind that swept through Hogsmeade in a wildly matter. Sirius seemed closer now more than ever as he gazed into your eyes. Whilst you probably looked crazy in the cold wind, the weather only seemed to compliment the once a big troublemaker before you.
"Good."
You creased your brows, "You didn't tell me what you smelled."
Sirius chuckled, "You of course."
Pleased with his answer, you let him do something you've been dreaming about for quite some time.
He kissed you.
The kiss felt electrical, making your body go haywire. Sparks, as cliché as they sound, they were there, present from the moment the kiss started and until it ended. Sirius had his warm hand against your cold cheek, bringing you closer than ever before.
You hadn't shared this with any other boy save for the one you were with right now.
You didn't have what Lily and James did because their love was theirs and theirs only.
Sirius and you will build a love of your own. Something characteristic to you two only. Here in Hogsmeade, or wherever in the world. A long life was ahead of you and you, now more than ever, felt like you could do anything.
Even pass the N.E.W.T.

In the library, you were trying to cram for the upcoming OWLs. You were situated in a quiet corner with a few of your housemates, silently going over some textbooks that the leader of the study session picked out. It was relatively peaceful until you heard hushed, excited whispers from the other side of the bookcase.
“So what say you? Toad, or slime?” A boyish voice questioned.
“Why not both!” The other voice exclaimed, arising giggles from the other students standing with them. Madam Pince shushed them from her desk.
“Alright, whose toad we using?”
“I found this one out back-” You heard a low ribbit.
“When did you get that?”
“How’d ya get that?”
“Why do you have that?”
“Not important.”
“Okay… So, we distract him with the toad, while someone dumps the slime into his robes.”
“I want to dump it!” A whispered voice tried its best to conceal its excitement.
“Alright. Now act natural, act natural.”
You heard shuffling and footsteps from the other side of the bookcase. The four culprits were a few third-year Gryffindors that were constantly up to no good. You put your hair clip in your book to mark your page and tapped the girl sitting next to you, gesturing for her to follow you. As the two of you got up, you noticed the mischief-makers holding a bucket of something green behind their back.
The four of them split up, two going in front of a lone boy sitting at a table, studying quietly, and two going behind him. You noticed the boy with a bucket was of the two sneaking up behind the boy reading alone. You looked at his colors. Slytherin, there’s no way this could be a practical joke shared between friends. Even if it was, it wasn’t very nice.
One of the Gryffindors, a boy with blonde hair, pretended to trip and made it a point to exaggeratedly shout, “Whoops!” as an overgrown toad leaped out of his hands and onto the page the Slytherin boy was reading. He jumped in surprise and watched the frog hop off of his copy of Advanced Potion Making.
“Hey, what are you doing with that bucket?” You asked loudly, pointing to the boy with curly hair who had a bucket poised high above his head, nearly tipping over the green sludge inside. He paused, shocked by your question.
The Slytherin boy had confusion written all over his features as he glanced between you and the girl standing next to you. He turned around to see the two boys caught in the act. He scowled, picking up his books and pushing past them, hitting their shoulders on the way out.
When the curly-haired boy got his shoulder knocked, the pail fell out of his grasp and fell to the floor with a loud clatter, covering him and the boy with glasses in the toxic-green ooze.
You, the girl next to you, and the other two mischief-makers laughed while the ones covered in slime looked rather cross. Madam Pince came over in a huff and grabbed the two boys covered in muck by the ear, chewing them out and dragging them away.
After your laughter died down, you thanked your housemate for following you. You turned around, remembering the boy who left in a huff.
“Save my spot” You mentioned to your housemate. She nodded and watched you walk out of the library.
Jogging down the hallway, you spotted the young boy, storming away. He stomped his feet and walked briskly, his shoulders twitching and his long black hair swishing about. You jogged after him, trying to catch up.
“Hey-” You said, reaching for his shoulder. He stopped, spun around on his heel and you almost crashed into him. You’d never seen eyes that held such a burning hot, all-consuming rage. You almost lost your nerve, your voice dying in your throat a moment. Sure, this third year was shorter than you and four years behind, but he was a little bit terrifying, to say the least.
“What?” He spat on the floor.
“Are you okay?” You asked.
“Why do you care?” He shifted his weight to one leg.
“Those boys… they’re not your friends are they?”
“Like hell. Why would I want to be friends with those Gryffindor dunderheads? They can’t even read.” He scoffed, showing his crooked teeth.
“I’m sorry they did that to you. Do they bully you often?”
“They’re the marauders.” He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “They bully everyone. But I’m their favorite target.”
“Why?”
He looked at you as if you were stupid.
“That’s not right, they shouldn’t treat you like that.” You furrowed your eyebrows, ignoring the nasty look he just gave you.
“It may have escaped your notice,” He scowled, “but nobody cares about how they treat me.”
“I care.” You admitted.
“Why?”
Now it was your turn to look at him like an idiot. “No one deserves to be treated like a practical joke. What’s your name?” You asked softly, giving him your name first.
“Why do you want to know?” He bristled. “Haven’t you heard what they call me?”
“No, I’m in seventh year. I haven’t heard about the latest third-year politics.” You rolled your eyes before you could help yourself.
“Severus.”
“Severus?” You pronounced.
“Don’t wear it out.”
You brushed off his attitude, he did just get bullied after all. Instead, you chuckled and held out your hand. “It’s great to meet you, Severus.”
His eyes narrowed at you suspiciously. He tentatively grabbed your hand. You gave his hand a single shake and his fingers twitched the whole time. He was staring at your face but you couldn’t decipher the look he was giving you. His cheeks were pink. You tried to let go of his hand, but he was still holding yours, seeming almost as if he was lost in thought. Feeling self-conscious, you pulled a strand of hair behind your ear and cleared your throat. He snapped back to reality and quickly let go of your hand as if it burned him. His face was red.
“You too,” He muttered under his breath before turning on his heel. His steps were lighter, and he was hunched down. His hair was a curtain, trying to hide himself from prying eyes as he quickly darted away.

saving a princess who doesn't need saving
Genre: fluff
A Hanta Sero x reader
Here's Part two of sero x princess! Reader
Synopsis: A time where elves, fairies, dragons, and other wonderful creatures live in harmony, how would you choose to live? On a pirate ship? Making potions? Who do you stumble upon along the journey? A soldier, a poet, a king? Well, that’s for you to decide.
(masterlist is under navigation!)
a/n: hey guys! You guys enjoyed pirate sero so much so here we are again~ I'm still in the middle of my hmc phase so I'm also going to try not to let that show with this fic in particular. I also kind of changed the course of this but if you enjoyed it so much anon, i could make a part 2 or something! Requests are open so please don't be shy to request anything! Let's get started~
"what do you mean by 'raiding a kingdom', captain?"
"I said what I said."
Captain bakugo said to one of his duller crewmates, Denki. Everyone was in shock to say the least. You raided other ships and bumped into the navy at sea before but raiding an entire kingdom? What was their captain thinking?
"wouldn't that be a little off brand for us pirates, Captain?" sero asked, re-tying his bandana on his head, looking inquisitively at the blonde hothead who was scanning his big map resting on his desk.
"we're not doing it for the knack of it. We're doing it because a lot of people are stuck in poverty and being abused by their king. We're doing them a favor by saving them from harm. We can also get all their riches and give them back. Win-win." bakugo said as he marked the place where the ship would meet the rocky cliffs where the castle was perched high above it. Even though bakugo seemed like a very evil person, he was really kind-hearted and always placed others before himself. Everyone, including sero admired that. That's why they joined his crew in the first place. A sea robin hood they called him. Sero wanted to be known as someone who was like his captain, someone who was willing to fight the world if it meant to save others he cared for.
"we'll arrive there at dawn. Since climber over there is the most flexible out of all of us, he could get a rope up for use to get to and storm the castle." bakugo said, pointing at sero. You see, sero was known for being the most flexible out of everyone. He could climb the tallest poles and cliffs and make it look so easy. He nodded his head in agreement. There was no one else better for the job anyway.
Everyone left the room and went off to get ready for the big fight. Mina, denki, and kirishima decided to chat and plan in their quarters, bakugo stayed in his study to thoroughly flush his plan of attack out and sero decided to stay on the dock to look out at the dark and shining seawater under the crisp and white moonlight, waiting for the clock to tick down before he could finally help his crew win and free people.
This could be a step closer to person sero truly wants to be.
The sun was barely peeking out of the horizon when the crew docked the ship and handed sero a long rope. With ease, the raven-haired boy started to climb up the rough terrain to use as leverage. Soon the rough side of the cliff turned to the smooth limestone of the castle. Sero couldn't tell how far up he is when he jumped over one of the balconies and tied to rope tightly to the banister, letting the other pirates take their time to climb up the rope.
He turned around to check the insides of the castle but was met with a knife made of crystal to his throat. He looked into your (e/c) eyes and admired how your face was twisted with this determined look. You wore a dress made of the finest silk and lace, making it seem like you were innocent, naïve but you were quite the opposite. You looked like you were willing to slit his throat right there- wait, what was he doing? Why was he staring at you? You were on their side so why look so starstruck?
Sero reflexes moved as his hand swiftly grabbed his sword and hit your knife out of your hand, you moved to catch it only to be met with the same position you tried to place the pirate in, his sword pressed to your throat. "you have courage and skill princess." you looked down and kicked his feet, causing him to fall to the ground. Just as you were about to retrieve your knife back, he grabbed your arm and pulled your back into his chest, sword back resting on your throat. "but not enough to defeat me." he whispered in your ear. He got a whiff of your hair, making him turn away to try to get your mind off of it. He was a pirate so why is a small sniff of your scent making him blush.
You glared at him from the corner of your eye. "why are you here anyway?" you muttered angrily. You knew there was no use for squirming or breaking out of his grasp. If he was here to take over the castle then he wouldn't mind killing you off.
"we're here to save your peoples' asses from your asshole of a king, that's what." someone said. you looked over to see a blonde man, you presumed he was the captain. Next to go over your balcony was a pink-skinned girl, a boy with a streak lighting bolt in his yellow hair, and a man with a toothy grin. "take care of her, climber. We'll deal with the king. This little princess is already too much trouble if he let her roam." the captain said before pushing the glass doors into the castle open and striding in with his other companions, walking out into the corridors. You could hear the battle erupt between the guards and their little group.
"look, I don't like my father as much you guys do," you said, trying to look back at the black-haired man to no avail. His grip was tight yet gentle on you. It wasn't as rough as you imagined being held hostage would be. Was he purposefully being gentle with you?
"what do you want to do then princess? You giving me a sob story won't give me a reason for letting you go." he taunted you. You could tell he had a smirk on his face as he said these words. You scoffed at that. Damn, he really did knew what he was doing.
"look, if you're going to fight for the freedom of my people, then I would join you instead of being locked in this tower with my father and his ulterior motives," you said. People would've thought you were lying but what you said was true. You knew of your father's intention from the start but you had to play dumb if you didn't want to die in the hands of assassins. "I trained for this moment. I can help you." you pleaded. If it was your choice, you would've disposed of your father a long time ago but he just had too many guards around him that you couldn't seem to get him alone in a room.
Sero's breath hitched. You sounded so strong and confident. You reminded him of bakugo, how headstong and how you thought of others. But even so, could he really trust you? He thought for a moment before turning you in his grasp. You finally got a good look at his face. His black hair tied in a small bun at the back of his head, his eyes glistened in thought, a scar running down his lips but it didn't make his lips any less delectable- wait, what were you thinking? He was a pirate, your captor, a potential enemy if he doesn't accept your offer of help.
"fine."
"what-"
"It was either you fight with us or against us. I'm glad you actually chose the right one. Don't make me regret this." he said, handing you your crystal knife then taking your wrist and pulling you into the chaos of battle. He swung his sword at the guards, encouraging you to join in too.
"man, how am I going to explain this to bakugo." he muttered under his breath. He looked back at you and smiled. Maybe it wasn't such a bad decision to let you fight with them. He'll just have to convince bakugo that having you in the crew would be one of the best decisions he could make.
And that's all! I had loads of fun thinking of lines and stuff for this prompt. Hope you guys also had some fun reading this one! Requests are still open for this series by the way so please don't be shy to leave anything! Love you guys 💖♥️💕

Culprits and Witnesses
It was a peaceful morning in Skylands. A scenery of pinkish and yellow clouds illuminated by the rising sun. Snap Shot and Wolfgang were enjoying that moment together. They were sitting underneath the cherry blossom tree where they used to train and bond. Lying on top of the soft green grass, their arms around each other and a light breeze brushing past them. Everything was perfect.
“I wish it could always be like this.” Wolfgang’s eyes were calmly set on the sun. “Just you, me and the endless skies.”
“Me too.” Snap Shot sighed and turned quiet. “As gorgeous as this view is, you know what it means.”
Wolfgang sighed as well, only more annoyed than calm now. “Yeah.”
Not a second passed before a giant version of Dreamcatcher appeared in the sky right in front of them. “The sun is rising you guys, you know what that means.”
The couple rolled their eyes before lovingly looking at each other one more time.
Snap Shot opened his eyes to find himself back inside his cell at Cloudcracker Prison. It was all a dream. However, he’s not upset about it. Him and Wolfgang made a deal with Dreamcatcher so that every night they could meet each other in the dream realm and enjoy their time together, even if it’s not real.
The reptile got out of his cell and on his way to the cafeteria for breakfast, he felt a large fluffy arm wrap around his shoulder.
“Hey sleepy head.” Wolfgang smirked as he joined Snap Shot and they could spend some time in the real world, only surrounded by other villains.
Before the cafeteria entrance, Dreamcatcher appeared in front of the two once again, this time in her regular size. She didn’t say a word and just stared at them with expecting eyes.
Wolfgang shoved his hand inside a pocket of his pants and pulled out a small plastic figure of a unicorn, their end of the deal. “This is all I could find around here.”
“Sir Blueberry Twinkles!” Dreamcatcher used her telepathic abilities, which have been reduced to only lifting small objects inside the prison, to hold the toy in front of her. “Finally I can reunite him with his sister! Thanks, tonight I will take you somewhere special.” The floating head winked before flying off whilst enjoying the small toy horse.
The couple giggled before finally entering the cafeteria to fill their hungry stomachs.
Later that morning, the paralyzed Tuff Luck was found. She was brought into the hospital immediately where Whirlwind would take a look at the strange trance the feline was in.
“I have never seen anything like this before.” Smolderdash was as appalled as everyone else to see the lifeless, cloudy blue eyes of the Life Skylanders. “What happened to her?”
“Maybe this has something to do with Hex’ curse?” Stealth Elf could only think of the witch when she saw those eyes, despite the fact that Hex’ curse turned them pitch black. “Perhaps some kind of side effect?”
“That can’t be it. Everyone was freed from Hex’ curse when she surrendered, and this isn’t undead magic anyway.” Whirlwind has been studying all kinds of injuries and even curses for years, but this was new to her. “This is something completely different.”
Unaware to them, Tuff Luck was currently trapped inside her own mind experiencing her greatest fear. There was no way for her to give any sign through her body, she had no control anymore.
As the Skylanders continued to speculate, a deep voice emerged from the shadows. “May I take a look?”
Everyone turned around to see the dark dragon Blackout standing behind them, trying to get a glimpse of what was going on. “Of course, maybe you know more than us.” Whirlwind moved aside for the dragon to join the group.
Blackout moved his head closer to Tuff Luck and squinted his eyes while staring into hers. Suddenly the horn at the tip of his snout began to glow in a dim green light before he backed off. “Whoever did this must have access to some kind of psychic powers.”
“We figured that much.” Stealth Elf thought about some possible suspects. “But that color and her completely frozen body… we’ve never seen that before.”
“No… not in this form.” Blackout closed his eyes and focused for his horn to glow brighter. “She’s fighting. She’s trapped inside her own mind and there is no way for her to break free.”
The others gasped upon hearing that shocking revelation. “Is there a way to help her?” Smolderdash didn’t hesitate for a moment and was already looking for answers.
“I’m afraid not.” Blackout opened his eyes again and his horn stopped glowing. “She’s under the influence of some force very similar to dream magic. A so-called nightmare prison.”
“Dream magic?” Stealth Elf wasn’t hearing that term for the first time. “Then I think I know who did this.”
“Oh, yes of course I did!” Dreamcatcher just finished placing her most recent toy horse on the ledge of her window, adding it to her collection. It’s a hobby she discovered ever since she’s been locked back inside Cloudcracker Prison and found an abandoned unicorn toy.
“How? You’re behind bars and your powers are limited, there’s no way.” Stealth Elf glared at the floating head through the bars of her cell before she turned around to face the elf and Blackout who have come to question her.
“Oh no, I didn’t do that. I mean I did see your friend in the dream realm. The poor thing was so lost and afraid, but unfortunately I was too busy helping those two lovebirds so I couldn’t do anything about it.” Dreamcatcher’s dirty grin made it clear that she was being sarcastic.
Blackout was standing behind Stealth Elf and didn’t say a word yet. He was trying to use his advanced knowledge to figure out what was going on. “If you were able to see her then others can enter the nightmare prison, so she can be saved.”
The Air villain turned to the dragon and gained a curious look. “Hey, I know you.” She was staring at Blackout who kept his dead serious expression. “Weren’t you one of those creepy dragons that spread nightmares all over the realm? I hope you know by now that that’s my thing.”
“I don’t associate with that clan anymore.” Blackout remembered the Dark Stygian. It was a clan consisting of gargoyle dragons just like him who would give nightmares to villains until they started to abuse that power. “I stopped them just like we stopped you, but there’s another force out there.”
“So, you’re saying it wasn’t her?” Stealth Elf’s eyes went from Dreamcatcher to Blackout.
“No, I keep watch over her at night. She can manipulate dreams to an extent, but not this drastically and not to the point where it gets dangerous.” Blackout kept eye contact with the accused.
“You’re stalking me? Ugh, creep!” Dreamcatcher scoffed at the two Skylanders once more before turning around. “But he’s right, I have nothing to do with this.”
Blackout didn’t ask any further questions and left while Stealth Elf spitefully stared at the back of Dreamcatcher before going as well.
Meanwhile Smolderdash went to get some advice elsewhere. She entered the Magic Realm where she stumbled upon Déjà Vu who was happy to help. The two made it to one of the highest magical towers in which many Skylanders of the respective element reside in. They were looking for someone.
“Are you sure she’s here?” Smolderdash floated across a long wine-red carpet along the blue stone floor leading inside.
“It’s where she spends most of her time as far as I know.” Déjà Vu turned her head left and right to observe countless shelves filled with books, potions and other ancient relics.
The inside of the building was much bigger than the slim exterior led to believe. The two Skylanders turned and pushed many objects aside in search of a specific one. “Hello?” Smolderdash finally exclaimed, hearing an echo throughout the giant circular room.
Déjà Vu was searching on the other side. After some brief scans of every corner, she finally spotted something. “Smolderdash, look!”
The fiery humanoid hurried to the timelord, who was staring at a pink bottle with cyan, oval-shaped jewels on the side and a diamond cork on top. “That’s it!”
Neither of them knew how to approach the relic. Finally, Smolderdash decided to just grab the bottle before shaking it. When nothing happened, she placed her other hand onto it and gently rubbed. The bottle reacted by trembling, which caused the Fire Skylander to drop it and back off. Finally, the cork flew off and the bottle emitted a dazzling cloud of purple smoke. A slim figure emerged out of it and grew larger with every passing moment, casting an enormous shadow on the Skylanders looking up in awe.
The being reached the point where it was so big that it hit the ceiling. After a painful hiss, it proceeded to shrink instead and adjusted itself to a size more suitable for the room. When the smoke ceased, the giant Ninjini finally appeared in front of the visitors. “Who has summoned the great Ninjini… oh it’s just you.”
Déjà Vu’s eyes curved underneath her mask, indicating a smile, while Smolderdash remained rather baffled. “Ninjini, we’ve been looking everywhere for you!” The fellow Magic Skylander was excited to get a chance to talk to one of the most skilled Skylanders of all time.
“Sorry about that, I just discovered a new spell which can warp reality, so I had to retreat into my bottle to concentrate.” Ninjini, and genies in general, were known for their great amount of power. They can grant almost any wish and thus hold the power of infinite creation. “How can I help you?”
“There was an incident last night.” Smolderdash wasn’t sure how to best describe the situation, but she just needed to know if Ninjini was more knowledgeable regarding the issue. “Tuff Luck was put in some kind of trance, they were talking about dream magic. Her eyes were completely light blue and foggy.”
“Dream magic?” Ninjini knew a good deal about that. “Genie magic does have a lot in common with that, only that there’s an entirely different realm for dreams.”
“Do you know any way to manipulate it?” Déjà Vu was curious. “I would use my time powers, but that would most likely lead to way more problems.”
“You shouldn’t do that, you’re right.” Ninjini pointed her finger at the sorceress while looking into another direction. “I wish I could help you, but unfortunately I can’t access any sort of dream magic. While wishes often stem from dreams, ultimately they are what someone wants in reality. Dreams are far more… unpredictable.”
“I understand.” Smolderdash wasn’t disappointed, but she did wonder what else she could do. “If it turns out that it wasn’t Dreamcatcher then there must be someone else with the power to manipulate dreams.”
“And create nightmares.” Déjà Vu reminded her companion of the dark side to that special kind of magic.
“Right…” The Fire Skylander looked up to Ninjini and nodded with a smile. “Thanks for your time.”
“Always. I will let you know if I find out anything else.” The giantess turned around to pick out some more books for her private studying session while the two Skylanders made their way back to the Academy.
The sun has set and there were no clear answers as to what happened with the unfortunate Tuff Luck. The Skylanders gathered once more to discuss another strategy.
“We have no idea what happened, and our main suspect seems to be innocent.” Stealth Elf spoke to the group in front of her, not realizing how glum she sounded. “I suppose we will have to take other measures.”
“Like what? I don’t think the perpetrator will just show up and tell us.” Spitfire joined the discussion after seeing what had happened and wanted to find a solution. “All we can do is hope for Tuff Luck to snap out of it and tell us herself.”
“She’s not snapping out of it, not that easily.” Blackout’s deep voice traveled through the crowd like a wave. “If even Ninjini can’t reverse it, then we have to catch the enemy and force them to do it.”
“Or perhaps…” Smolderdash announced an idea that just popped into her head, drawing all the attention towards her. “Kaos has something to do with this.”
“Kaos never did something like this, I doubt he even could.” Stealth Elf didn’t even consider the small tyrant despite him posing a serious threat numerous times. “I can’t stop thinking that this has something to do with Hex.”
“Hex’ powers were all absorbed and stored safely where no one can find them.” Spitfire had to remind the elf of what happened a week ago. “And besides, her magic is undead, so dark and scary. Not exactly dream magic if you ask me.”
“Guys!” The conversation was interrupted by Whirlwind soaring towards them with a worried manner. “It happened again!”
The Skylanders followed the hybrid to the inside of the library where Gearshift was on the floor with the same cloudy eyes as Tuff Luck. She was all alone, and no one was even nearby, so there were no witnesses.
“How could this happen?” Stealth Elf was shocked and her eyes were glued to the motionless body of the robot. “And why her of all people? Can she even dream?”
“I cannot.” Everyone jumped up in surprise when Gearshift responded. The Trap Master blinked and suddenly her eyes went back to their normal navy, silver and red colors.
Whirlwind couldn’t explain to herself what just happened. “Gearshift? How did you-”
“Break free from the trance? Magic usually does not show great effect on my systems, so in the case of a trance, hypnosis or other forms of paralyzation, I can simply reboot myself.” The robot stood back up as if nothing happened.
“Well, do you know what happened? Did you see anything?” Smolderdash didn’t fully believe that everything was completely fine, but Gearshift wasn’t one to lie.
“I did, in fact.” Everyone listened eagerly as the Tech Skylander recalled the event. “Before I fell into that trance and blacked out for approximately twelve minutes and twenty-one seconds, a cloaked figure ambushed me.”
“A cloaked figure?” Spitfire tried to think of a villain who could be capable of something like that. “Did you see their face?”
“I saw a mask inside the hood, not the face.” Gearshift described the intruder as precisely as she could. “They are using it to curse their victims. Whatever you do, do not-”
“Up so soon? Didn’t you enjoy the nightmare I made for you?” A mischievous voice echoed through the library, and everyone frantically looked around themselves.
“There!” Smolderdash pointed to the cloaked figure they’ve been looking for. He was standing on top of some wooden platforms near the ceiling.
The mysterious figure jumped down while the heroes all pulled out their weapons and were ready to strike. “You’re the one who’s doing this, aren’t you?” Stealth Elf hissed through her mask while tightly holding her daggers.
“Guilty as charged.” The voice was deep, too deep almost. It didn’t sound natural, more like a distorted recording. Everyone could tell that it was a man talking, yet they didn’t recognize him. “I should’ve known that the robot wouldn’t fall prey to my curse, what a waste.”
“Do not look into his eyes, that is what puts you under the curse!” Gearshift remarked before the figure got closer and purposely attempted to look into each pair of eyes.
The Skylanders tried to turn their eyes away, but they still managed to catch glimpses of the mask. It was a frightening twisted grimace painted in dark and cool colors. No one thought much about it until Smolderdash took a closer look, avoiding the eyes. “Wait… that’s the Mask of Power!”
Everyone stared at the Fire Skylander and then again at the mask before gasping when they realized that it truly was the powerful relic. “So, you recognize it. No wonder since you tried to steal it from me years ago!” The foe was walking around the group like a predator circling his prey, turning his head trying to get a look into their eyes.
“Who are you?” Spitfire looked down to the ground as the intruder passed him.
“You know who I am. I’ve spent eons trapped in my own kingdom, unable to fulfill my plan to rule the Skylands with my rightful powers!” The figure was now in front of the group again. He began to levitate with blue energy underneath him and towered over the Skylanders with a mighty aura. “I am the Nightmare King!”
Just before he could launch an attack through the eyes of his mask, a fireball hit him from the side and he fell to the ground. Spyro arrived alongside a few other Skylander to aid their allies. “And you won’t get the chance to do anymore damage!” The leader glared at the enemy who turned away from the heroes.
Instead of surrendering, the Nightmare King began to cackle. He swung his arm and unleashed a powerful wave of magic, throwing everyone to the ground. “You won’t defeat me. Even if you try, I will turn your greatest fears into reality. The one you will have to fight is yourself!” The villain was certain of himself and already knew his plan. “I’m not in a hurry, eventually you will all surrender to the horrors that plague your minds. No one can escape.” With those words the Nightmare King turned around and vanished in the blink of an eye.
The Skylanders looked everywhere, but he was gone. “Perfect, yet another new villain.” Spitfire sighed and waited for Spyro to come up with the next plan to take the threat down.
“I’m afraid so.” Cautiously, almost paranoid, Spyro looked behind himself to see if there was something there. “Skylanders, there’s a new villain in town and he once again wants to take over the Skylands.”
“He also carries the Mask of Power.” Smolderdash remarked.
Spyro’s eyes opened wide, but at this point nothing could surprise him anymore. “Well, then we will need to find a way to take those powers from him. We all know what a single fragment of the mask was capable of, I don’t want to find out what the whole thing can do.”
As Spyro discussed the plan, Gearshift noticed that something wasn’t right. She blinked and her eyes suddenly shifted back to the nightmare state. Inside her mind, or rather system, she saw something familiar, then she heard a deep scream. She couldn’t make out what it was and before she got the opportunity to look closer, she was back in the real world. The robot didn’t think much of it and continued to listen like nothing happened.
In the meantime, at Cloudcracker Prison all the villains were in their cells and supposed to be asleep. Obviously almost none of them were, but they were all quiet so they wouldn’t receive a warning from the guards. Snap Shot and Wolfgang were no exception. After asking the Trap Masters time and time again they were finally allowed to get cells next to each other. Now they could chat as much as they wanted, despite a crystal wall being in between them.
“Did Dream tell you that she was interrogated today?” Wolfgang was using the bones of the chicken he had for dinner to drum against the bars of his cell as so often.
“For what?” Snap Shot was scratching the floor with his sharp gloved claws.
“Apparently a Skylander was found under some kind of dream spell.” Wolfgang did know what the mischievous head was capable of, but he also knew that her powers are very limited within prison walls. “They thought it was her. Shows how much they trust their own energy fields.”
Snap Shot smirked. “You guys did always find a way around that.” After a few seconds the reptile’s smile faded and his scratching along the floor stopped. “Wolfy?”
“Yeah?” The werewolf interrupted his drumming session since he could tell that Snap Shot was about to ask him something more serious.
“What will you do when you get out?” Snap Shot has been thinking about life outside of prison a lot lately, and he can’t help but wonder what it will look like. “We have two more years, but after that we’re free to go.”
Wolfgang was quiet. Unlike Snap Shot, he spent many years behind bars. At this point it felt more like home than any other place in Skylands. “Well, if the queen is really out of the picture, I’ll just try to get as far away from here as possible. Lay low, y’know?”
“Yeah.” That reminded Snap Shot of Wolfgang’s attempt to flee when the Skylanders found them and the other Doom Raiders on that abandoned island. Back then he would have never dared to run away, but things are different now. “I honestly have no idea. I thought I’d be with the Skylanders until I retire before settling down in some swamp and spend the rest of my days shouting at youngsters who are trespassing through my property.” Wolfgang laughed as Snap Shot paused and thought further. “But now I’m here. I have to get away once I’m out, they won’t want me around.” Snap Shot took a deep breath and exhaled with a sigh. “I can never go back.”
Wolfgang could almost feel Snap Shot’s disappointment through the wall. He knew how respected he used to be among the Skylanders. The leader of the Trap Masters with a track record of catching more criminals than anyone else, including the wolf himself several times. The crocagator told him to not feel guilty about that loss, even though it was his fault. The least he could do now is help him figure things out. “I know what that’s like, losing the life you once had and all the people in it. It’s scary at first and you’re all alone, but eventually you find something new, something that keeps you going. For me it was music and with the Doom Raiders I thought I had discovered my new purpose. Now I realize that wasn’t what I really wanted, not in that way.”
Snap Shot was listening carefully. He loved listening to his partner go on about music, he could tell how happy that made him, but he never expressed anything about his purpose before. “Then what do you want?”
“I want to be free.” Wolfgang’s lips formed a gentle smile as his mind wandered through all the possibilities once he’s out of prison. “No more tyranny and pressure from some greedy ol’ hag. I just want to get out there and share my music, even if no one enjoys it.”
Snap Shot nodded. “That sure sounds like a purpose to me.”
“And I won’t go alone.” Wolfgang added. “I’ll take a grumpy old crocagator with me and maybe, just maybe, he will get into music too.”
“In your dreams!” Both let out a heartfelt laugh before sinking back into their thoughts. “That does sound like something. Getting out there, seeing what no one’s seen before.”
Wolfgang was glad to hear some perspective from the reptile. “And you know the Skylanders; some of them won’t be able to let you go without at least saying goodbye.”
“You’re right about that.” Snap Shot’s sight moved up and out the window. Seeing the star-filled sky gave him a comforting feeling, almost like a spark of hope. “To the future.”
“To the future.” Wolfgang yawned before crawling into his small bed, which has been starting to feel comfortable after so many dreamy nights.
Snap Shot went to bed too and realized that maybe, despite the circumstances, the stay in the prison was exactly what he needed.

What You Do to Me
masterlist
Pairing: Draco Malfoy x Slytherin!Reader
Summary: Ever since the beginning of your fifth year, Draco became unpleasant towards you, and you’re determined to find out why.
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: Kissing, but that’s about it.
a/n — Hello, this is my first writing prompt on here. Feel free to request a one-shot in my inbox and I’ll try to get back to you as soon as possible!
——————————
"And then she had the audacity to run away! Can you believe her?"
A chorus of exaggerated gasps and responses echoed in the Slytherin common room. You gave a light chuckle at the nature of your friends as you took a sip from the bottle of butterbeer laying around before briefly glancing up at the clock.
Blaise, Pansy, Theo, Daphne, Draco, and you laid sprawled across the couches and floor of the common room. It was a usual thing for you guys to hang out there before curfew whenever an escape from studies was collectively needed. Given the intensity of a fifth year's workload, it was nearly every other day when you guys would gather together with some drinks for a couple hours. You weren't complaining, though — this is much rather preferred than working on Snape's essays.
You suddenly put down your bottle and stood up hazily while brushing down your skirt. Five pair of eyes instantaneously turned towards your way as you shot them an apologetic smile. "Sorry, but I promised my brother I'd meet up with him and his friends in the library."
It wasn't uncommon for you to receive disapproving looks whenever your brother and his Gryffindor friends were brought up. You chose to ignore it, as they never verbally expressed their dislike towards them. Until now, when Draco Malfoy decided he suddenly had something to say.
“Those Gryffindors? You could do so much better," he remarked without sparing you a glance. You scoffed at his immaturity and crossed your arms against your chest.
"I don't recall asking for your opinion, Malfoy," You said, clenching your jaw. "Besides, they make better company than you do." He smirked to himself before turning his head slightly to meet your gaze. There was a moment of hesitation before his response, in which he simply scanned your face before staring into your eyes again.
With an infuriating grin plastered on his face, he said, "Please, we know the real reason is that you want to snog Potter. Your attempts are pathetic, anyone can see that."
Your face heated up with rage and embarrassment — How dare he imply that? "Go to hell, Malfoy," you muttered just loud enough to be heard before storming out of the portrait hole.
He was never this rude throughout your time at Hogwarts. You two were the least closest within the group, as you'd normally never speak to him unless it was alongside the others, but he still remained civil with you. It was only the beginning of the school year when this had changed.
He began giving you snide comments about your closeness with the Golden Trio and you being a Weasley. Most people didn't mind that fact, as you were still a Slytherin despite all of your siblings being otherwise, but Draco never failed to insult you about it somehow during any given circumstance.
You attempted to brush your thoughts of him away once you approached the library. However, the question of why he was being like this towards you remained in your head until the end up the night, making you fall asleep with a clouded head and a heavy chest.
~~~
"Settle down, class, unless you intend on receiving a string of detentions," Professor Snape said languidly, silencing the room of Gryffindors and Slytherins. You sat next to Harry, with your brother Ron seated with Hermione behind you two. "Today, we will be brewing a particularly difficult potion in groups of two. Open up your textbook to page 394 as I put you all into pairs."
Harry gave a slight groan next to you upon hearing Professor Snape. You squeezed his hand reassuringly and offered an encouraging grin. You two would often pair up with each other, given how you have a greater talent for Potions than he does. A partner willing to lead most of it is often hard to come across when the pairs are pre-picked, to Harry's dismay.
Professor Snape began listing pairs of his piece of parchment, causing fear to erupt in the stomach's of most. You didn't pay much attention to the names being said as you pulled out your textbook. It was only until the last pairing when you hear your name being mentioned that you finally looked up.
"Y/N Weasley and Draco Malfoy."
You winced at the mention of your partner for the day. Turning your head tentatively, you glanced at Draco. He held an empty expression, void of any emotions indicating how he felt about the pairing. Upon noticing your gaze, he stood up silently to approach your desk.
"Let me know if he is being a dick to you," Harry said softly, squeezing your shoulder before leaving his seat. You notice the glares Draco gave to Harry's departing figure and rolled your eyes, gesturing him to sit down.
"Don't miss your boyfriend too much," Draco said with a scowl on his face. You raised your eyebrows in disbelief. He never quits, does he?
"I'll get the ingredients, you set up the cauldron," You muttered, not wasting any time to get up and briefly depart with him. You quietly groaned in anger once out of his earshot. Out of the twenty-something students in the class, you, unfortunately, had the luck of being with him.
While muttering some less than appropriate words to describe the platinum haired boy, you grabbed the ingredients listed in your textbook. Unicorn hair, you thought to yourself as you try to locate it along the shelves. Upon seeing it in the uppermost compartment, you sighed before placing your materials down and reaching for it.
Come down already! you thought to yourself as you stood on tiptoe with your arms extended. Still, you barely managed to brush your fingers on the bottom of the container. As you contemplated giving up and simply calling someone else to grab it, you felt a presence appear behind you.
Dangerously close behind you.
You could feel their breath tickle the lobe of your ear as they reached for the ingredient with no hassle. Their hand seemed to delicately brush over your outstretched arm on its way down, making shivers appear instantaneously.
You lowered your heel and dropped your arm by your side. Your positions lingered for a brief moment before they took a step back and you turned around. That's when your eyes met a pair of ash-gray ones boring into your own.
For a moment, the room was still, or it at least appeared to be. Nothing else was registered in your brain besides those foggy eyes in front of you. You wanted to take a picture, to capture the beautiful sight, but you knew regardless it would be implanted in your brain for life.
Suddenly, Draco diverted his eyes with a slight cough saying, "You looked like you were struggling." He then strode across the room to return to your desk, looking solely at the work in front of him. As you gathered your materials swiftly and returned to your desk as well, you failed to notice the tinge of pink appearing on his cheeks, similar to your own.
The rest of the class was spent in silence, avoiding his occasional glance and trying to ignore the harsh beating of your heart.
~~~
It was nearly a week after the Potion's incident, and you haven't come across Draco since. To be fair, you were also doing your fair share of avoiding — coming to breakfast and dinner earlier than usual and leaving when the crowd came, as well as hanging out with the Gryffindors more often than the Slytherins. But Draco hasn't been attending the get-togethers in the common room before curfew. It was almost as if he dropped off the face of the Earth.
As you turn the corner in an empty corridor with no clear direction in mind, a tall figure colliding with yours abruptly broke your trance. You fell on your butt and grimaced. Why must this happen to me, you thought in mild pain. Your eyes were too squinted to notice the hand offered in front of you.
Suddenly, the person grabbed your forearm and lifted you up onto your feet. You stumbled for a moment, gripping onto their shoulder for balance, before your eyes fell on the face of the stranger.
Fate was being real funny today.
Draco stood in front of you, making you hyper aware of lack of space between you two. You immediately retracted your hand from his shoulder, but his grip lingered on your arm for a moment before he took it off. Then, he simply scowled at you and rolled his eyes before walking away.
"Watch where you're going next time, Weasley."
You let out a dry chuckle, amazed by his duality. One minute, he'll be extremely close, staring into yours eyes softly. The next, he'll be acting like an absolute git, taking any chance to insult you.
Before he managed to get far, you grabbed the end of his tie and pulled him back so he was at eye level with you. You glared at him for a moment before speaking slowly, "What is your problem with me?"
Draco gulped tentatively, meeting your harsh stare with his striking silver eyes. After a moment of him simply taking in the appearance of your eyes, he opened his mouth to speak. "It's what you're doing to me."
You paused, your grip loosening on his tie as your expression morphed into one of confusion. "What am I doing to you?" you asked in a soft whisper. You didn't know how to react to his statement — you generally steered clear of him unless he spoke to you first. What could you have possibly done to make him hate you?
Draco pulled his tie out of your hands and stood up to his full height. He then took slow strides towards you, making you backup to maintain some space apart. Eventually, your back had hit a wall, and there was no avoiding his strong gaze when there was merely centimeters between you two. He raised his arm to the spot of the wall next to your head, partially trapping you in this position.
"You wanna know what you're doing to me?" He tilted his head very slightly, searching your face for any sign of emotion. "You're running through my head every minute of every day. You're making my heart beat rapidly and my face red at the mere sight of you. You- you're making me feel things I've never felt for someone before."
There was a slight pause in his speech when he simply gazed into your eyes, observing your reaction. Your lips parted slightly in shock, your eyes widened, your cheeks painted with crimson. He took that as an opportunity to continue, in a breathy whisper, "That's what you're doing to me."
Your outer expression displayed merely surprise, but you were jumping in glee on the inside. You have always liked Draco since the second year. You admired his confidence and pride, his sheer ambition, and admittedly, his handsome appearance. Upon hearing the revelation, it's natural that you'd feel quite joyous.
Still, you had to remind yourself of his behaviour during the past two months. Clearing your throat in an attempt to briefly mask your feelings, you said in a sarcastic tone, "That definitely excuses how you've been treating me this year."
Draco's face suddenly turned pale as his eyebrows furrowed in regret. He looked down, ashamed of himself, and dropped the arm trapping you to his side. He mumbled an apology under his breath and stepped back sadly.
Rolling your eyes playfully, you threw your arms around his neck and brought him closer to you once again. "Don't worry, I forgive you," you said, slamming your lips onto his before he could respond. His eyes widened as he stood still for a moment, but he quickly melted into your lips and brought his arms around your waist shortly after.
The kiss started off passionate, filled with the raw, unadulterated desire built up inside them over the years. He gripped your waist as if you would flee when he let go, and he kept bringing you impossibly closer to him. However, it gradually developed into a sweeter, more slower kiss as it went on. You melted into his arms, and neither wanted the moment to end.
After what felt like a century of having your lips connected, you finally pulled away, heaving a euphoric sigh. His breathing was accelerated, and your lips were red and swollen. A grin slowly stretched across his face, and a laugh other than the sarcastic ones you were used to hearing was released. An airy, untroubled one, which sounds absolutely magnificent.
The moment was suddenly disturbed by a loud bang. You and Draco abruptly pulled apart, looking at the surprise visitors. At the end of the hall, Ron, Harry, and Hermione stood shocked, and a textbook laid on the floor in front of Ron's open arms.
"You and Draco are d-dating?" said your brother with a horrified grimace painting his face.
Draco faced you with a slight smile. Grabbing your hand and giving it an affectionate squeeze, he prompted, "Only if you'd like to."
"Of course. What more would I want?"

Master List
Chapter 19
Damian is not happy. Everyone has introduced themselves and it only remains for the two intruders to do so as well, he hopes they refuse to be part of this, but from Drake's enthusiasm, clearly his wishes will not be heard and the two vigilantes will be part of the MT in some way or other.
"Well, it seems serious..." Nightwing hesitates for a moment, but does it anyway, it's the first time that he gives his identity in this way, remembering that they don’t just give their identities, but the MT has trusted them and it seems that their Working method differs a lot from Batman's. "I'm Richard Grayson, you can call me Dick."
"Yeah, we're not doing that." Alix responds with an amused smile.
"So you're Tim, right?" Marinette asks Robin, who nods and removes his mask. "This will be easier then."
"Was the suit delay related to the MT?"
"Something like that." She answers vaguely, but it's Alix who breaks the mysterious air of the matter.
"Stealing museums is not something that is directly related to our vigilante jobs."
Dick looks in surprise between the pink haired girl and the bluenette, who just sighs. He's no stranger to robbery when necessary, just that they admit it so casually is disconcerting. Tim on the other hand, he knows that he will not be very comfortable with the information.
"Do you rob museums?" Tim asks a bit dubious, that's not something he would have expected considering his participation in similar cases taking down robberies and other similar crimes, he didn't think they would commit them.
"Oh yes, my next dream is to rob a Russian museum." Felix responds wryly, but takes his next sentence more seriously. "It's not something we do for pleasure. First we will explain what MT is and then you will understand better why we rob a museum… It will give me a headache."
"Security was dire for supposedly keeping such valuable objects." Damian scoffs, leaning back in his chair, not looking at his brothers. "I would have done a better job while I sleep."
Dick just looks at the boy curiously, did they take him with them? Surely he goes to school, right? Although it not was school day when they first met him and he was at the farmhouse, he's probably homeschooled alongside his monstrous dogs, you can still feel his paws on his face. He doesn't really know what to think of such a brilliant woman being a vigilante, although perhaps he's taking too much reference from Bruce and Oliver who are the complete opposite, he's not exactly a good reference himself either even though he's less grim than the original Batman.
Marie Lenoir and, in general, the majority in that room seem to her very healthy emotionally speaking or, at least, not constipated like him and all his brothers.
"We'll explain it in detail later. Chloe, can you start?
"Sure, Lenoir." She smiles as she calls her last name in her common haughty tone, which has become a way of joking between them. "For the public, the MT is the name of the vigilante organization and which is not related in any way to the heroes, which is not true. The MT is originally the group of heroes… turned into vigilantes to be able to investigate the whereabouts of the butterfly without raising suspicions."
"We haven't done very well, he's a slippery shit." Alix complains getting a little hit from Nathaniel.
"There are kids."
"I've heard worse things, Kurtzberg." Damian dismisses his concerns dismissively. Marinette just gives him a worried look, it's seen that he is holding back from saying something more offensive, he seems about to attack everyone and is worrying. He's been acting very defensive for a few days now.
"Stop saying my last name as if it were an insult."
"Then stop being an idiot, Kurtzberg."
Luka sighs, he's normally a very patient and understanding person, but everyone is a little nervous, easily excitable, they haven't been that nervous since God Shit and Not in Hell joined the team, due to the fact that one is a demon and the other a stranger to most except Marinette (and Felix apparently).
"Returning." Kagami is not willing to put up with everyone's way of acting, but she won't scold them either, surely Felix will have words with everyone and Marinette will take care of Damian. "We are the heroes, we all have magical knowledge and the MT is an organization destined to protect the Miraculous, the magical jewels that give us our powers. Our main mission is to recover the butterfly and watch over the other jewels, whether we have them in our possession or not. The museum robbery was the recovery of the Giraffe's Miraculous."
"Wow, what a good summary," Marc comments by how concise it was, his good humor is not overshadowed by the tension in the room.
"Mari-hime is the Great Guardian, the leader of the entire organization and the most important member of the TM. She is the only one who knows all the spells, potions and cares for jewels and Kwami."
“We don't all have an affinity for being full guardians, especially since we're too old to complete some parts of the training. We may not approve of the ways they did it back in the day, but it takes young spirits to mold compatibility with Guardian magic. Melody completed a large part of her training at the age of fourteen and later continued it with all the knowledge of the temple together with the assistance of some Kwami."
"So you're the heroes too? And they do double duty to keep the city safe… They've been fighting since they were fourteen… ”Marc interrupts Tim from his little review
"Marinette has been doing it since she was thirteen."
"You started alone, right?" Dick asks, he wants confirmation that she didn't have a mentor, but still can't imagine what it must have been like for her to be thrown into danger like that.
"Chat was there, but it was just us. It wasn't until sometime after that I met the Guardian, but it wasn't a guide as such… ”She says thoughtfully, remembering her beginnings as Ladybug. She didn't do her part either, she had settled into just fighting with the Akuma and hoping for some miracle that could reveal Hawkmoth's identity, along with many other things she regrets.
"It's still a great feat, I couldn't have." Tim admits, since he decided to become Robin only because he saw the need to be one to help Batman, otherwise it was not a battle worth fighting. "So what are the Miraculous?"
"Magic jewels connected to quasi-divine entities, they embody abstract concepts such as creation, destruction, emotions, etc. They are called Kwami, unfortunately the connection with the jewel makes them slaves of whoever owns it and it cannot be avoided that their powers are used for evil purposes if they fall into the wrong hands. "Marinette explains in the simplest way she can.” I have been investigating, but there is nothing in the Order's records of any way around control over the Kwami."
"And destroy the jewel?" Dick questions, it's something important if she is saying it, so it's better to understand, although the idea of magic jewels sounds to him straight out of an anime.
"They agreed to anchor themselves to the jewels to be able to have contact with the world in a more personal way, it's what allows them to have a corporeal form and relate to the environment instead of just existing isolated ... The only thing that can have contact with the world material are their powers, but they as an entity are not. At first they considered it a small price for the opportunity to live with their creations, but the slavery that it brought with it was a long-term impediment ... In any case, only the power of Plagg can destroy the jewels, but for magical reasons he cannot do the same with his own jewel."
"Silly if you ask us," Chloe complains. They actually read the temple books, the ones God Shit recommended to them and even Alix traveled with Fluff's help to different times to discover secrets that might have been lost, but nothing in relation to magical slavery, although they didn't go as far as to meet the magician who created the Miraculous, they feel that it's not advisable to do that.
"Maybe we should blackmail Luci into seeing if he knows anything…" Nathaniel mutters, earning a snort from Marc.
------
John: I'll arrive in Paris tomorrow, I found some old books that mention the Kwami
John: I think you will like them, they could help us with our research
John: I also bring a gift for your son
John: I don't know if he mentioned it
John: [Photo attached]
Marie: Where will I put that?!
Marie: John!
John: He didn't mention it to you. Well it's a peace offering
Marie: It's very sweet of you, but I also didn't know that you guys have been talking.
John: I knew he wouldn't tell you anything, the little monster.
John: I guess you don't know who came here either, right?
Marie: No! No wonder he acted so strange, he felt guilty. I can not believe it
Marie: I can't be angry either
John: Why should you? He's taking care of you and, for now, it's the only way he knows
John: It will get better, you have that effect on people
Marie: You’re sweet
------
The meeting continues in an uncomfortable environment, if someone hints that they are fully functional adults, anyone in the room would quickly tell them they are wrong. Against their better judgment, neither knows how to proceed. It's usually Marinette who knows what to do, but neither she nor Felix are entirely sure how to proceed from there.
"So… we all agree that we shouldn't say anything to the other Batman?" Nathaniel breaks the ice, looking doubtfully at everyone.
They're a bunch of awkward adults, that's for sure.
"That is obvious, Kurtzberg. The important thing about this ridiculous meeting is to know if they are useful for our interests. So, speak up, what can you bring to this partnership? We are giving them access to one of the greatest secrets in the world, an immediate support team and, above all, a network of reliable contacts around the world. ”Damian folds his arms and looks down at his two older brothers.
Dick looks up to see the boy, who seems very confident in his words and, despite various expressions to the boy's words, cannot say that he's being arrogant about it. Tim is the one answering.
"I offer myself. I've been designing tech updates for Batman, but there are some devices that would fit his surveillance better than ours. "He starts going through his files and Marinette gets up to hand him one of the computers Max uses for data presentation, which are designed to withstand the information traffic that they usually handle in most of their cases. "Oh thanks."
She sits back and watches him set up his own technology with Max's, feeling very excited by the clear differences and surprised when Markov makes an appearance.
"Who you are?"
"Markov, that's Timothy Drake. Let him play on the computer, he wants to show us something. "
"Okay, I thought someone had got hold of some piece of technology. I'll let Dima supervise it."
Dick watches in surprise as the settings return to normal and the screen returns to the files Tim was manipulating in order to present them to others.
"Was that an AI?" Richard questions.
"The question is stupid, obviously it was."
"Damian." Marinette places a hand on her son's head and gives him a firm little look, silently asking him to avoid attacking his apparent paternal family. "That was Markov, the artificial intelligence designed by Max, he's a great ally in research because of his ease of hacking without being detected. He's joined by Dima, the one in charge of guarding the complex and taking care of the Kwami that rest in the box."
"Does he have emotions? That's great. Wait... did you say Max? Max Kanté?"
"The only one" Max walks in just then, grabbing his own laptop and picking an empty seat at random. Tim just stares with his mouth open.
How not meet the genius who designed a robot capable of feeling emotions at thirteen? The guy is quite a celebrity in the scientific world! He founded KanTech at the age of eighteen and is currently a major multi-branch business rival to Wayne Enterprise. In a way, that he's the one designing the MT technology makes perfect sense.
"I don't want to interrupt, but there is an Akuma."
The MT, in a synchronized way, complains in its own way. Damian insults the man behind the mask, Felix complains about it being night, Chloe exclaims about the bad time to do it, Kagami mutters how annoyed it is, Nathaniel is just a long wail with a comforting whisper from Marc.
"Hurry up, let's see what he has prepared for us this time. Team, Kagami, Chloe, Felix and I will go. The others, wait to be called."Those mentioned stand up just in time for the Kwami to appear, which is Pollen hands the comb to its owner, while Wyazz nods to the blonde who is taking off his jacket and gloves to reveal the miracle bracelet.
Marinette also removes the glove where the ring is hidden. The four of them transform in front of the foreign vigilantes, surprising them by seeing the transformation.
In front of him were no longer the vigilantes but the heroes of Paris.

JaliceWeek2020 Day 7
JaliceWeek2020 Day 7: Yeehaw/Western/Sheriff
Love & Duty
Notes: Okay, I’m pretty sure this isn’t nearly ‘cowboy’ enough, and I’ve already started an alternative piece, but I found an old tumblr post about how cowboys were just daytime witches, and I frickin’ loved it (I’ll link it in the morning) and my excitement got out of hand again. There’s definitely going to be more to this story, but separately.
I also just wanted to prove to myself I could smash out two prompts in one day, honestly. I opted for quantity over quality, and I currently only have some regrets - 4.5 down, 3.5 to go.
--
The old farmhouse sits outside Laredo, Texas. The wood has blackened from decades underneath the sun and seems to sink in on itself; the ground cracked and dry. The barn roof has caved in, obviously years before if the elaborate nest tucked at the edge is any indication. At the end of the drive, the sign once bore the name of the owners, but that name has long since faded into the wood.
It is an unwelcoming place, for any passerby or stranger - a house that actively discourages anyone from crossing the boundary, even if they never notice it.
But for those that sought it out, and for those few that lived there, it was very different.
—
It was a sacred duty, once upon a time - the Guardians of the Border, sent to protect and prevent the Southern Wars from spilling over from Mexico into America proper. For decades, girls from all the old families across the country were sent to Texas to run the Guard Houses, to protect and shield those. Back then, there were so many daughters that only the very best were accepted at the Border Guard Houses, most of them settled in the city houses, mixing the potions and preparing the weapons. Some girls were even sent home - there were only so many beds, after all.
And Texas remained well-guarded.
But time marches on. Vampire wars, human wars, they all have a death toll, and entire family lines died out. It became less of an honour, more of an obligation, and one that fell to the oldest daughter, or the oddest daughter, or the ugliest daughter. It became more important to keep the bloodlines strong than to protect the South from the never-ending Wars.
Mary-Alice Brandon was never surprised to be banished to Texas on her sixteenth birthday; she’d known her entire life she’d don the blacks and take up the mantle as six generations of Brandon witches had done before her. She was not good breeding stock, with her ‘visions’ and her temper and her complete disinclination to conform to her parents’ social obligations. Cynthia was a much better heiress, and so off to Texas Alice was sent, to three ancient ‘aunts’ who would train her in all she would need to know, having lived their entire lives defending the Laredo house.
The house wasn’t so bad, if you looked past the glamour. The house was in good repair, and the aunts maintained a lush garden out the back, of herbs and flowers. They had two strong horses - Hallow and Haven - and half a dozen well-pleased cats. Her own bedroom looked over the road, hidden only by the branches of an ancient willow tree. Of course, the aunts were strict teachers that expected impossible standards, and third-rate cooks. But no place was perfect, and at least here no one cared about manners or propriety.
But she missed the sunshine. That was one thing the aunts never budged on. “Day is for sleep.” And hell was raged over her head if she wasn’t tucked up tight in bed every morning before dawn, the curtains drawn tight and refusing to budge. Once every moon cycle, her aunts would have a dawn meeting with someone but she wasn’t allowed to join those until she was twenty one, when she formally became a Witch Guardian. Until then, she was just a handmaid and dogsbody.
Which is why she was up to her ankles in mud, trying to pry an overzealous hemlock plant from the ground because it was smothering the chamomile again, with nothing to light her work except the lanterns on the porch. And this was just the first of the positively irritating chores she had been assigned that night.
It was her own fault, really. She should have kept her nose out of the books, and maybe there’d be more lessons for her to finish.
Shoving her hair out of her eyes, Alice glared viciously at the hemlock plant, and wondered if the aunts would consider it ‘inappropriate behaviour’ to curse the damn thing to burn.
“Mary-Alice!”
One of the aunts came dashing out of the backdoor - all three were fairly interchangeable, which felt like an uncharitable thought, but it was the honest truth - looking more agitated than Alice had ever seen her.
“Yes, Auntie?”
“Get out of the mud, and go and fetch one of the horse,” the older woman said, buckling an over-stuffed messenger bag. “Be quick, girl. Change your boots, don’t worry about your dress.”
Struggling out of the garden and into the house to find her riding boots, Alice knotted her hair back before hurrying to the barn, where all three aunts were gathered, Hallow already saddled - she would have thought Haven a better choice, since Hallow was so big and she was not the strongest rider.
“You’re going to Del Rio, girl,” one of the aunts said, shoving over a mounting block with surprising strength. “One of our allies has suffered an injury and cannot be moved. Hallow should have you there by dawn.”
“Del Rio?” Alice couldn’t remember the last time she’d been into Laredo, let alone more than a hundred miles up the border.
“Yes. Now, they’re expecting you,” the second aunt said, taking her hand and half shoving her up and into Hallow’s saddle. “Everything you need is in the bag; there’s food and water for you, but you’ll need them to provide more for your return journey. Hallow knows the way; if you hit the yellow farmhouse, you’ve gone too far. There should be a scout waiting for you anyway, don’t worry. It’s a long trip, but it’s a good practice for you, and you’re a good, clean healer.”
“The boy’s in a bad way, so you best be off,” the final aunt said, looking grim. “Let us know how long you’ll be staying and when you set off home.”
“Okay,” Alice managed, a bit dazed from the amount of information she’d just been given.
“Blessed and safe journey, my dear,” the first aunt said, looking worried before Hallow decided they had lingered long enough, and moved out of the barn.
Alice suddenly regretted cursing the hemlock.
—
The ride was long and hard. She honestly regretted not getting changed into something more sensible - she’d learnt to ride as a girl English style, side-saddle, but the aunts had laughed at that particular pretension, and Western saddles and long skirts were not a winning combination.
The bag wasn’t heavy enough for any of them to have thought to pack her a clean dress, either, and she was truly wretched at cleaning spells. Perhaps the Del Rio coven could loan her a dress.
Hallow stopped some time after midnight, and she took that opportunity to eat - a floury apple, some dry bread, and cold chicken that was so well cooked it might as well have been ash. But it was food, and the urgency that she been sent off - alone - implied she didn’t have more than a few minutes to rest.
The rest of the trip felt long, and as pink and gold streaks began to hover at the horizon, Alice wondered if she’d taken too long - if the poor boy (boy? she’d never heard of a coven accepting a boy, but maybe the Guard Houses had decided to modernise) had already succumbed. But it wasn’t like she was provided with a map or proper direction…
It was dawn when Hallow began to slow, and she saw a man leaning against a signpost with an indecipherable sign, the road behind him leading to a fire-decimated house on a hill in the distance.
“Miss Brandon?” the man said, looking at her with suspicion before his eyes softened. “Ah, Hallow.” The horse clearly recognised him, nickering affectionately at the man.
“Yes, I am Miss Brandon. You are the scout from Del Rio?” she asked primly, as if she didn’t have mud on her face and dress and sleeves, and no hat.
“Yup. Come on, he’s in the house. I’m Peter,” the man said. “Budge up.”
Within seconds, Peter had swung himself onto Hallow behind her, and Alice gasped at the impropriety, but didn’t get a moment to say a word as Peter clicked and Hallow took off like a bullet.
As Hallow passed another sign that couldn’t be read, the fire-ruins shimmered before reforming into an expansive and well-lived farmhouse, with a large barn. Out the back, she could see pristine fields full of horses and cattle. It was like chalk and cheese from home, and for a moment, she was jealous.
As they stopped in front of the house, Peter slid off, and tied off Hallow’s bridle to the porch railing, reaching up to help her down.
“Quick now, one of the boys will come take care of Hallow, we need you to tend to Jasper now,” Peter said, half dragging her up the front stairs and into the house.
It felt like a bustle of activity, and was so bright and airy. The smell of fresh bread filtered through the house, and Alice couldn’t help but snatch a look as she was dragged deeper into the house.
“Char! The witching’s here!” Peter bellowed, and suddenly Alice was presented with a drawn-looking woman with strawberry-blonde hair.
“Oh, thank gods,” she said. “I’m Charlotte. Come with me. His fever keeps getting higher, and I’ve tried everything I know. We called out to everyone, but your aunt was the only one who got back to us.”
She was lead into a backroom, where a mattress was laid out on the floor, and the curtains were drawn. And in the middle of the room, moaning in pain and sweaty, was a tall man covered in scars.
Alice tried not to gasp. The scars were quite clearly vampire bites, healed ones. Covens had some natural immunity to vampire venom, but it only slowed down the process and allowed it to be reversed. There were dozens of stories of girls who couldn’t be saved, and had been burnt before the change could be completed. It was, unfortunately, one of the risks of their duty.
“He got ambushed,” Charlotte said, kneeling beside the man. “The harpy practically gutted him, but he got away okay.” She pulled back the sheet, to reveal an enormous wound that had been clumsily stitched, from the middle of his chest, slashing downward over his stomach to his hip. “It needs cauterising I think, but I’m no healer.”
Alice came back to herself then. Whatever was going on here - male Guardians, this untrained woman, all the bite marks - could be questioned after this poor man - Jasper, had Peter called him? - was treated.
Dropping to her knees, Alice quickly inspected Charlotte’s stitching of the wound. “It will need cauterising, it’s too deep,” she determined quickly. “And treatment for infection, but stitching it was a smart thing to do.” Charlotte looked relieved. “Did he get bitten?”
“His arms,” Peter said, and Charlotte quickly pulled off bandages, already blackening from the venom. Three bites on one arm, four on the other. Bad, bad business.
“Okay. Do you have a smock, and a place I can wash up?” she said, standing quickly. Walking into a sick room in her filthy clothes and boots had been a stupid thing to do, but nothing for it now.
“Of course - show her the bathroom, Peter,” Charlotte darted out.
Within moments, Alice had a smock over her underthings and a pair of borrowed slippers - Charlotte promising to wash her dress immediately - and she’d scrubbed every visible inch of her skin as fast as she could, her hair pinned under a kerchief.
It was a very, very long day. The bites had to be purified, cleaned, and bandaged to draw out as much venom as possible; the bandages had to be changed four times every day, to prevent the venom lingering against the skin. Jasper had to be fed the tonic that the aunts had sent every two hours to flush any venom that had already ended his system. Then she had to treat the fever, to lesson his evident discomfort, and treat the infection that had clearly set into the wound Charlotte had stitched, whilst reassuring Charlotte that it was nothing actively wrong that she’d done, just the unlucky result of riding home with an open wound.
But by the time night fell, Jasper was somewhat more comfortable - the moaning had stopped, and with a generous dose of pain and sleep tonic, he seemed to actually be sleeping.
Alice wished she could.
Instead, she changed his bandages again before finding herself in the kitchen, with Charlotte piling plates with food.
“We heard from the others,” she said, taking her own seat. “Days away, Carlisle is furious. Emmett’s already on his way back with Rosalie, but they won’t make it here for at least a week.” Charlotte looked exhausted. “At least they’ll bring supplies.”
“What’s done is done,” Peter said smartly, watching Alice as she began to eat, exhaustion in every one of her motions. “Jasper will be okay now, yes?”
Alice looked up. “Well,” she began, and sighed. “There were so many bites,” she managed, trying to be kind. “And he’s been bitten before - even one previous bite decreases the effectiveness of treatment. I swear I am doing everything I can possibly do.”
“You’re young, yes?” Peter shot back. “Not even a full Guardian yet?”
“Peter!” Charlotte scolded.
“No, I’m not of age yet. My title does not affect my ability - I have been trained. I have completed my lessons. There is nothing I can think of that I am not already doing,” Alice retorted.
“And we are grateful,” Charlotte broke in.
“Yup, I’m positive Jasper would be thrilled that his life is in the hands of a schoolgirl,” Peter muttered before getting up from the table and storming away.
Alice was too tired to be angry, and just sighed and went back to her food - Charlotte was far and away a better cook than the aunts; perhaps a week of edible food, and she’d be filling out her dresses properly.
“I’m sorry, Peter and Jasper… they’re like brothers. They’ve been together for years,” Charlotte said, looking at her plate. “…Please, please don’t let Peter’s rudeness dissuade you from helping Jasper…”
Alice looked up in shock. “No. No, of course not. I understand his frustration, I do. And there’s nothing he could say to me that would make me treat Jasper any less, I promise.”
“Thank you,” Charlotte smiled, and began to clear the table. “The guest room is at the top of the stairs, I’ve laid out a nightgown for you, and some towels. Peter’s taken care of your horse, and I’m sure…”
“That’s very kind of you,” Alice said gently, “but I’ll sit up with Jasper tonight; he’ll need watching.”
“Could I help at all? Watch him in shifts?” Charlotte asked, but Alice could see the exhaustion and worry in every line of the woman’s face. If they weren’t careful, Charlotte would fall ill too and she’d have two patients.
“No, it has to be me, to make sure the bites are clean and the tonic takes. We’ll have a better idea of how he is tomorrow, though,” Alice offered. “I would like to bathe, though, if you could watch him?”
“Oh, of course - there’s a washroom in the guest room,” Charlotte said, gesturing to the stairs. “Thank you, Alice. I mean it. Thank you for coming, I feel like everything is going to be okay now that you’re here.”
—
It was a long night, with exhaustion setting in for Alice - she hadn’t slept in over a day, had ridden half-way up the border… she felt like an old woman. But it was her duty. And she would do it to the best of her ability.
Charlotte had leant her several dresses, and it was quite strange to wear a colour that wasn’t black or grey, but a welcome novelty, even if the dresses were a size too big.
Settling beside the sickbed, Alice administered the tonic every two hours, and found herself changing the bandages obsessively, as soon as she saw or smelt the venom. She flushed out the bite wounds - one would need stitching. She’d have to cauterise the chest wound first thing in the morning; his fever still lingered, but the tonics and potions seemed to have had a powerful effect on the infection, with the red veins having already retreated.
Though, she might have to teach Charlotte how to administer stitches whilst she was here. The woman was clearly unfamiliar with stitching flesh. Maybe some rudimentary treatments so that they didn’t have to wait twelve hours for help.
The aunts had packed her two new books to read - purely educational, histories of the coven, that were not even a little bit relevant in her current situation, or interesting. But they did keep her awake.
Morning came, and Jasper’s fever had broken. She nearly cheered at that, and when Peter and Charlotte burst in at dawn, she gave them the good news. She thought that Peter was going to cry - Charlotte certainly did. But then she required the couple hold him down as she cauterised the chest wound.
Charlotte ended up vomiting at the smell, and Peter looked at little woozy, but at least he was held together with more than embroidery thread now. She quickly applied a fresh layer of ointment that smelt like mint and tea leaves to the raw wound and bound up his chest up in fresh bandages. At least Charlotte had the practicality of preparing an immense quantity of fresh, sterile bandages that looked like they been cut from good quality bed linens or petticoats.
The day moved slowly; Charlotte brought her meals in on a tray, and sat with Jasper whilst she changed her dress again, and sent a message to the aunts. Peter was very respectful around her, and brought her anything she asked for - purified water, feverfew, lavender, aloe vera. Jasper seemed to sleep more comfortably each day, as she fed him cold tea laced with every possible tonic and potion she had in her bag and could create from scratch. His bite marks were cleared every day, settling into fresh scar tissue. She was genuinely sorry that they had scarred, but there was nothing for it.
But only time would tell if the venom had made it to his heart.
—
Seven days. She had been at the Del Rio house for seven days and seven nights. Jasper had passed out of danger, and was now just healing, though he hadn’t regained consciousness. But Alice continued to nurse him, as was her duty and purpose here. She fed him careful sips of tea and then herbal broth, to build up his strength and hopefully reinforce his immunity; she rubbed ointments into his new wounds to keep the skin supple and preveshe lnt thick scar tissue and ease any discomfort. She helped Charlotte wash and dress him as soon as she deemed it safe.
That she had not been expecting. She hoped her poker face was good, because she’d really never seen a man’s body before. Not like that - she was only nineteen, had lived with the aunts since she was sixteen and had never been courted. Even her lessons had been done on whatever animals they could hunt or trade for from the market, not really humans. And this man, he was… handsome. He was tall and just the right amount of muscular and tan and, she shouldn’t be having these thoughts.
She couldn’t even imagine her embarrassment if this Jasper had seen her in such a way.
Oh, she was definitely sleep deprived. She had yet to sleep a single second in the guest room, snatching cat naps in the corner of Jasper’s sick room when she couldn’t hold her eyes open a single moment longer.
Which was what she was doing now. She twisted her neck uncomfortably; she’d been sleeping at a funny angle, she’d be feeling that all day. Stretching out, she looked over at her patient, only to see Jasper staring back at her curiously.
“Oh my gods!” Alice gasped, scrambling over. “You’re awake? How are you feeling? How long have you been awake?”
She quickly helped him sit up, reading for the water cup on the beside table. He took two deep swallows before coughing.
“Oh, it’s got lemon and mint in it, for healing,” she explained. “It’s helped, I promise. Hopefully we can get you back to normal drinking water and food tomorrow.”
“Who are you?” croaked Jasper, looking up at her with glazed eyes.
“Oh. Um, I’m Alice Brandon. From the Laredo Guard House,” she said, embarrassed. She was acting like a bumbling sixteen year old trainee, not a proper Guardian. “I was summoned when you were wounded.”
“Alice Brandon from Laredo,” Jasper repeated, a quirk of his lips. “Thank you.” His energy seemed to drain out of him all at once - totally normal for the severity of his wounds and his recovery.
“It was nothing,” she said. “Sleep now. It’s a great healer. Charlotte and Peter will be awake in a few hours.”
He nodded half-heartedly before he closed his eyes again, and Alice sat backwards. He was okay. Two blue eyes without a hint of red, talking and lucid, and drinking easily. She did it.
He lived.
—
Both Peter and Charlotte had wept when they realised that Jasper was conscious again, and Peter had nearly tackled the man when he saw Jasper sitting up, drinking water and talking to Alice, trying to piece together what had happened to him, and to learn how she had treated him - the Del Rio Guard House had fallen to the Whitlock-Hales several generations ago, and many of the old skills - like healing - had been lost.
In fact, it was only him, Peter, and Charlotte who were at the house full-time now - they hired local boys to help out on the ranch that funded the Del Rio clan. Jasper’s own sister and brother-in-law visited regularly, as did various other friends and allies, “but none of us are witchlings,” he coughed. “We were raised in the sun, not in the night.”
She smiled at reference to the old rhyme. “Even your sister?” she asked; girls were kept to the night, boys to the day. Old attitudes that had held true - girls were protected and cloistered (and much less likely to be caught poisoning or cursing) in the darkness. Their herbs and plants bloomed and grew so much harder under the moon than the sun. But boys, they were the fighters, the warriors, and battle against vampires and other dark creatures was best done when there was no darkness to escape into.
“Even my sister,” Jasper had smiled. “Rose would have made a horrible healer - punched me in the arm and told me to ‘man up’ the first time I fell off a horse; my arm was broken. She’s not nearly as committed as I am, but she helps. Her husband’s good at it too, he just married into the madness.” He spoke about his family with such affection, Alice felt a little jealous, but before she could ask any other questions, Charlotte and Peter were there, Jasper just as pleased to see them as they were to see him.
Alice slipped out to give them privacy - a bath and a clean dress sounded heavenly right now, and she ought to send another message to the aunts. She’d help Jasper wash and change afterwards, and hopefully be able to move him from the sick room to his usual quarters with fresh sheets. He’d sleep more comfortably in his own bed.
By lunchtime, Jasper was safely ensconced in his own bed, in a room that overlooked the a paddock of horses. He’d eaten some broth and drunk as many cups of herbal tea as Alice could press on him, as she fussed around. Peter had headed off to get ranch work done, and Charlotte had taken up a vigil at Jasper’s bedside with some sewing.
“Alice, please, you don’t have to do anything of that,” Charlotte laughed as Alice began folding clothing. “You should rest - you must be exhausted.” Turning to Jasper, she continued, “I don’t think she’s rested this entire time - she sat with you every night, didn’t even wake us to help change your bandages. She insisted Peter and I sleep.”
“Oh, I’m up at night anyway,” Alice laughed. “And I’m here to help.”
Jasper was watching her carefully now.
“She hasn’t stopped at all. I cannot imagine how efficient the Laredo House is,” Charlotte shook her head. “Though, I’m sure having proper recruits makes a difference.”
Alice shook her head, as she reached out to plump a pillow behind Jasper’s head. “Oh, it’s just me and the aunts,” she said airily. “All the old families are dying out, and, well, it’s not exactly a glamorous position. I knew I’d be sent to Laredo since I was very small, so I suppose my mother and father prepared me for it.”
“It sounds lonely,” Jasper said quietly.
And it was. She always tried to think of the positives, that she had her own bedroom, and she got to learn so quickly and do hands on practice much more quickly, and there were practically no chores but she had still been alone there for three and a half years. No companions, just duty. It hadn’t felt quite as bad until she’d come here, to this bright, happy place with sweet Charlotte and practical Peter and handsome Jasper…
“It’s home,” she finally said, honestly. “But I will take you up on that offer for a rest. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to wake me.”
“I’ll be fine, I promise,” Jasper said.
“See that you do - you’re my first official patient, and it would look terrible if you died when I was napping,” Alice teased, before slipping out of the room. She could sleep, finally.
—
The next week and a half fell into a routine. Jasper regained his strength surprisingly quickly, and went from being bedridden to eating meals in the kitchen with them all, to back on his horse - an enormous brown beast named Duke - within the week, though he did seem to tire quickly.
He took to showing her their operation - the wall of blessed weapons in the barn and in the house, the modified saddles to carry the weapons, the horses carefully trained to protect their rider and be desensitised to the presence of vampires.
It turned out that Charlotte was a newcomer, a local girl raised as a kitchen-witch whose brother had worked on the ranch. Charlotte had fallen quite hard for Peter, to hear Jasper tell it, and hadn’t flinched when she realised she’d married into a quasi-family of cowboy vampire hunters. She had started a small greenhouse with many common herbs that was a good start, but Alice knew that they needed something a little more robust for their ‘business’. She immediately promised Jasper to write them a list of additions they needed - and send them seeds and samples - and their purpose as soon as she was back in Laredo.
It was all very pleasant, but Alice realised quickly that Jasper was, for all intents and purposes, healed. She had no place here any longer; his sister would arrive soon, and he had no use of a nurse or witching now. She needed to leave.
She announced those plans at dinner that night, as Charlotte presented another one of her delightful spreads.
“I’m going to miss this,” she said ruefully, as they all dug in. “The aunts cannot cook at all.”
“Miss this?” Charlotte asked innocently, passing out hot rolls.
“Jasper is healed,” Alice smiled, trying to keep her voice upbeat. “Your recovery will continue, and you should be conservative about what you take on for a months or two, but you have no need for me any longer. I should return home first thing tomorrow.”
Everyone froze.
“So soon?” Jasper managed, almost looking… hurt?
“The aunts need me. They’re elderly,” Alice explained, “and it’s where I belong.”
Silence.
“Well, we’re mighty grateful you came all the way out here for us,” Peter said. “We’d all be happy to see you around here again.”
“Ah, but that would mean one of you was hurt, and that would be acceptable,” Alice teased. “You’ve been very kind to me. If I could trouble you for some food for the trip home, Charlotte…”
“Oh, of course,” Charlotte nodded. Jasper was focused on his potatoes and not looking at anyone. “You must stay in touch, yes? It’s been so nice having another woman here.”
“Of course,” Alice gushed, trying to ignore the reaction she knew the aunts would have if she started using the messaging system for socialising. “I’m going to be lost without you!”
“You’re not the only one,” Peter murmured, and Alice chose not to pull at that thread, and instead turned the conversation to Jasper’s sister’s arrival and tried not to dread the next morning.
—
It was a moment of weakness when she waited til Jasper was downstairs helping Peter wash up, when she slipped the medallion into his cowboy boots. He’d never feel the tiny silver charm, blessed with protection and a long life, but it would keep him safe.
She tried to convince herself it was because he probably wouldn’t survive another bite, but it didn’t work.
—
She left just before dawn, once again clad in her blacks - freshly washed and mended by Charlotte - and Jasper was waiting there, holding Hallow’s bridle as she walked out, Charlotte’s food tucked into her bag.
“Oh, you didn’t have to do that,” she said, realising Hallow was saddled and ready to leave.
“I wanted to.” He looked her up and down. “You look beautiful.”
Alice smiled - her black lace dress, from ankle to wrist to throat - was practically her uniform; she had four more just like it hanging in her wardrobe at home. Any particular beauty in the garment had faded the one hundredth time she wore it.
Jasper stepped closer to her; standing on the second step of the porch, they were nearly eye-to-eye.
“I never truly thank you for what you did for me - Peter and Charlotte filled me in,” he continued.
“It was truly nothing, it was what I was born for,” she said, wondering if it was Jasper’s proximity that was making her so warm, or if summer was coming early.
Jasper just stared at her and all of a sudden his lips were on hers.
She had never been kissed before, not even once, and it was… unexpected. Within a moment, Jasper deepened it, and she was properly clinging to his strong shoulders and oh, how could he do such a thing to her when she was about to leave?
Pulling back slowly, Jasper ducked his head. “I just wanted to do that once,” he murmured. “I couldn’t let you walk away without…”
“I can’t,” Alice whispered, somehow unable to pull away. “I… I’m not allowed. I would have to recant my vows, and the aunts have no one else to take on the Laredo house… I just can’t.”
Jasper looked at her. “That seems cruel,” he said in a low voice. “Looking after some old ladies until they die, then being left alone without being allowed anything more.”
“It’s how things are done,” Alice took a shaking breath. “I’m sorry. Please thank Charlotte and Peter for their hospitality.”
And with that, Alice took Hallow’s bridle from Jasper and mounted her horse, leaving for the Laredo house, trying to drag her mind away from what was behind her, from the first (and likely the only) kiss she had ever been given. From the way he looked at her, like she hung the moon.
She was, in all probability, never going to see him again. And that was how it was supposed to be.

Defense Against Your Inability to Respect Curfew
pairing: draco x goldentriofriend!reader
warnings: just draco being possessive i guess. also mild mild mild torture i guess, umbridge’s detention punishment is mentioned
request: yes! thanks anon!
summary: reader is friends with golden trio and draco decides to mess with her, then realizes he’s gone too far and realizes that he’s just jealous
a/n: i always have difficulties writing stories like these ones because as the author, you walk such a fine line between making possessiveness cute and making it controlling and abusive, so i apologize if this fic isn’t as brash as other jealousy centered ones. i’m gonna try and keep it a little more vanilla than the way the usual fics treat this kinda thing. possessive bfs in real life suck ass if they get too controlling lol also i put the reader in Slytherin, i apologize if the person who requested this wanted it some other way!
word count: 1,673
Y/N’s least favorite class was Defense Against the Dark Arts, by far. In all of her other classes, she was at least with her Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff friends. However, DADA was her only class shared with the Gryffindors, something she had mixed feelings about.
She never really felt like she fit in with her fellow Slytherins--they were all so judgmental, and since she was muggleborn, stuff was even worse for her. For the most part, the goons of Slytherin left her to her own devices, something she was generally thankful about, but she was lonely.
And then there was the fierce rivalry between the Gryffindors and the Slytherins, something that made DADA even worse. She had yet to make any friends in that class as everyone from the other house just assumed that she was prejudiced. No one ever asked what her blood status really was--after seeing her green tie, they decided they could deduce the answer for themselves.
In a stroke of luck one day, Neville Longbottom was reprimanded for goofing off too much with his table, and Umbridge “asked” him to switch places with Y/N, allowing her to free herself of Draco Malfoy’s constant criticism. She gratefully accepted the switch, moving her items and settling in next to Harry Potter and the rest of his friends.
That was all it took. Within one afternoon, Y/N made quick friends with the Golden Trio and the rest was history. Suddenly she was sitting at the Gryffindor table for meals, laughing with them in the halls during break, and even sneaking into their common room to spend the night with Hermione and Ginny on weekends.
Life was good, but as time went on and she grew closer to the group, she began to notice a certain blond paying more attention to her.
Draco Malfoy had hardly given her the time of day when she was next to him in DADA, something she didn’t mind all that much. Before she had started eating with the Gryffindors, Y/N often found herself sitting to Draco’s right, but he rarely acknowledged her apart from the occasional shy smile and nod.
But one late Friday night, all that changed. She was quietly sneaking out of the Gryffindor common room after playing a very competitive game of Monopoly with Ron and the twins, conscious of the fact that she was way past curfew. She had heard of the new inquisitorial squad created to assist Umbridge, but she had never been caught by them on all her midnight escapades and assumed her lucky would hold up,
Quick spoiler: it didn’t.
She was lucky enough to make it back to her own common room, but she wasn’t alone. A figure sat in an armchair near a dying fire, twirling a wand around his fingers.
“Y/L/N.”
Y/N jumped at the sound of Malfoy’s drawled words.
“How nice of you to finally return to your own house,” he began, eyeing his wand. He had stopped spinning it now.
“I’m sorry,” she responded. “I fell asleep in the library studying for-”
“You seriously expect me to believe that?” Malfoy cut in. “You think I haven’t noticed where you’ve been?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she pushed back. The Slytherin part of her knew that playing dumb was the only feasible option.
“Oh, I think you do.” He turned to face her, his eyes ablaze with the reflection of the fire. “You know exactly what I’m referring to. There’s nothing stopping me from hauling you down to Umbridge’s office right now,”
Y/N froze. Of course. She’d completely forgotten that he was part of Umbitch’s prized squad.
“There’s no proof,” Y/N shot back. “And I’m going to bed. I bet she’d like to know how you found me outside, after curfew, when it wasn’t even your shift.”
She firmly set her jaw before turning on her heel and retreating to her room.
Next time, I’ll just sleep over she promised herself.
♥♥♥♥
Unfortunately, “next time” came much sooner than expected. Hermione refused to let her sleep over the next Saturday under the guise that she had to get up early the next morning and didn’t want to wake Y/N, someone who always slept incredibly late. Y/N argued and pleaded with Hermione, but she wouldn’t budge.
“I’m so sorry,” she had told her, ushering her out of the common room. “I swear I wouldn’t do this unless I really had to. But you’re lucky, and you haven’t been caught yet, and you’re slick, so you won’t get caught.”
They’d bade each other goodnight, and Y/N was off into the night.
She’d made no more than 2 meters before she heard someone clear their throat. Spinning around, she was horrified to see the sight of Malfoy leaning up against the wall.
“Isn’t this interesting?” He noted. “It’s funny, I remember the library being somewhere other than the Gryffindor common room.”
It’s a shame he’s such a git. He’d be pretty hot if he wasn’t so annoying Y/N thought to herself.
“Ah, you caught me,” she said, throwing her hands up. “What are you doing out here, though?”
Malfoy puffed his chest up and pointed at the badge on his robes.
“I requested for my shifts to be extended a little later. I’m not sure if you noticed,” he shifted his weight from one leg to the other in a rather dramatic gesture, “but I’m on the job. Come on now, Umbridge is in her office and I’m sure she’d love to talk.”
Y/N’s jaw dropped. Malfoy was really going to do this to his own housemate?
“You can’t be serious.”
“You’re not invincible, no matter what house you’re in. However, I might’ve given you more leniency if you actually acted like a Slytherin instead of a wannabe Gryffindor.” His remarks stung more than the cold air did.
“Well, what are you waiting for? Come along.”
Malfoy seized Y/N’s arm, dragging her down to the horrid pink office that she’d heard so many horror stories of. Harry had told her how her punishments were rather unorthodox but didn’t go into any more detail. Regardless, she was going to learn what they really were.
“You have no semblance of house pride,” Malfoy hissed at her halfway through the walk. “Hanging out with the Weasel? And Granger? And god forbid, Potter? Are you insane?”
“Maybe I like being around people who don’t care about my blood status!” Y/N countered. “I’ve grown to love them more in two weeks than I’ve loved Slytherin in 5 years!”
“Why don’t you tell that to Umbridge?” They’d reached the office door.
“Ladies first.”
Y/N rolled her eyes to hide her fear. Umbridge was apparently horrible any time of day, but she couldn’t imagine how much worse she’d be if she had to wake the demon lady up in the middle of the night.
Thankfully, the pink monstrosity was awake and doing paperwork at her ugly desk.
“Caught her lurking around the Gryffindor dorms,” Malfoy reported, pushing Y/N into a chair at a desk.
“Thank you, Mr. Malfoy,” Umbridge responded. “You can stay and watch, if you’d like.”
“Really?” Malfoy sounded...pleasantly surprised.
The little sociopath.
“But Professor, you don’t let anyone stay--”
“Well, I think you’re an exceptional example of what the squad ought to be like,” Umbridge told him. “You get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.”
What the...fuck? This was a whole different world of fucked up. What the fuck???
“Here you are, Ms....Y/L/N, is it?” Umbridge tossed a quill and piece of parchment paper to her and grossly mispronounced her last name. Y/N didn’t bother to correct her. “Write ‘I shall respect curfew” 50 times. I’ll be watching.”
“That’s it?” Y/N was shocked at the vanilla punishment. This was, like, muggle punishment. “Can I have some ink as well?”
Umbridge glared at her.
“You won’t be needing it. Just write.”
Y/N shrugged and began to write on the parchment. Within onds, a searing pain ripped through her hand and she gasped.
Umbridge was right about not needing ink--she had been so stupid. This was a black quill! How could Y/N have been so stupid?
A faint scratch of “I shall respect curfew” appeared on her hand, just barely breaking the skin. A matching sentence appeared on her parchment, glowing a vibrant blood red.
Oh, no. 50 times?
She began writing as quick as she possibly could, trying to ignore the burning pain on her right hand. She was always sensitive to blood--something that she couldn’t change, no matter how hard she tried. If she saw too much of it, especially if it was hers, she’d pass out.
10 down, 40 to go.
Her hand was shaking and tears were running down her face as she fought to keep consciousness. She hadn’t seen this much of her own blood in so long, not since she accidentally nicked her finger on a knife in potions last spring. Every stroke of the quill ripped deeper into her hand, and while the words healed up seconds after writing them, the next time hurt even more.
Y/N kept at it for almost an hour, eventually hitting her last phrase and flinging the objects at Umbridge.
“Goodnight,” Y/N mumbled before finally collapsing on the ground next to the desk. The last thing she saw was Draco’s horrified face before everything went black.
♥♥♥♥
When she came to, she was in a bed that was most certainly not hers. The sheets were a luxurious black silk--did they even have those at Hogwarts?--and it smelled much different than her room, much more like someone else’s choice of shampoo and mahogany. A bandage was wrapped tightly around her right hand, but she could see no visible bleeding through the fabric.
Where was she?
Y/N shot up, throwing the heavy blankets off of her and frantically scanning the room for answers.
“Oh good, you’re awake.”
A very tired Draco Malfoy sat in the corner, holding a candle in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.
final a/n: this literally went in every direction except for the one that the request specifically asked for and now i have to write a part 2 so that’ll be up soon

Harry Potter Fanfic Recommendations about Trans Characters
I will not pretend to be an expert by any means when I am cis, but I’ve come across plenty of stories with trans characters in the past and wanted to not only re-find them but also discover more. Here is a far-from-comprehensive list of links sorted by which character is trans. Some of these stories have more than one, in which case I deferred to the protagonist.
I intend to keep adding to this as I discover more, so if anyone has specific recommendations, please send them my way! I only have ten listed thus far, but I wanted to get the list out there.
Harry Potter
the girl who lived (again) - Features Harry/Ginny. 10,330 words. Rated G.
Molly tried her best. When Harry had told them, Arthur had asked excitedly, "is this a Muggle thing?" Hermione had hurried out a "no!" and a frantic history of gender diversity in the wizarding world.
"It's just that I'm a girl," Harry had said, and Arthur had nodded and asked her about how telephone booths worked. He would call her by the right pronouns until the day he died at the respectable old age of one hundred and thirty three, and he would make it seem easy.
But Molly had to try. Hermione explained things faster and higher-pitched every time Molly messed up a pronoun. Molly frowned and muttered and put extra potatoes on Harry's plate at breakfast. Harry slept in Ron's room, which didn't bother either of them but which made Hermione scowl.
Harry got boxes of sweets and warm hugs, as Molly chewed things over. For her fifteenth Christmas, the Weasley sweater she would receive would be a bright, friendly, terrible pink.
The next time Harry visited, Molly put her on Ginny's floor to sleep-- for some definition of sleep that involved Hermione hissing threats at three in the morning if Harry and Ginny didn't "shut up about Wronski feints, do you know what time it is."
My note: This story is actually a re-imagining of her whole book story. Her name is considered at one point, but she decides to keep using Harry because she feels it fits her. It also includes references to other trans and gender fluid characters.
Draco Malfoy
The Only True Goal of the Universe - Features Harry/Draco and background Hermione/Ron, Seamus/Dean. 22,753 words. Rated E.
It comes up, as most juvenile things do, in a game of Truth or Dare.
Shenanigans - Features Harry/Draco and background Hermione/Ron. 4823 words. Rated E.
Of course Draco’s orgasm hits him right as Potter does the one thing he’s not supposed to do. Of fucking course.
Or, the blood curse lingering over the Malfoys has landed on Draco, and he’s doomed to get knocked up by the first cock that gets inside his cunt. Just his luck that cock ends up being Harry Potter’s.
Hand-in-Hand and Handkerchief - Features Draco/Astoria. 3008 words. Rated G
Draco Malfoy is not generally sympathetic to the sight of tears, but when he stumbles upon a second year Slytherin sniffling in the rose garden during the Yule Ball, for once he manages not to be a complete arse. Astoria is just glad that he had a handkerchief in his pocket because she forgot hers.
My Note: This includes three trans characters, including a happy adult example. It also has mention of a really cool magical potion idea for transition that the author has provided a free-for-use explanation of here.
Sirius Black
Discards - Features Remus/Sirius, James/Lily. 76,032 words. Rated M. Modern non-magical AU.
When 21-year-old assistant librarian Sirius spots a cute hipster college student at the Seattle Public Library, he just needs to figure out a subtle way of determining whether he's into guys. But Remus's life is more complicated than Sirius knows.
My note: Tons of diversity within this cast with no white main characters and many different sexualities mentioned. Also sex positive with great commentary about homelessness, HIV, sex work, classism, and more.
Live Like We’re Renegates - Remus/Sirius and background Lily/James. 24,378 words. Rated E.
Exuberant, proud, genderfluid, cheerleader, self-described narcissist. All things to describe Sirius Black. It's a stark contrast from the self-imposed loner, Journalist, and Gender Studies major Remus Lupin who is thrown into Sirius' world after accepting a project for a class. When the two worlds collide, both lives are changed for the better.
Sirius leant forward a bit, meeting Remus’ eyes. “Are you asking if I go for cute boys in beanies and jumpers, Remus Lupin?”
Remus’ face went hot. “Er. No. I mean…er…”
Sirius laughed. “Find your chill, love. I’m joking.” He winked at Remus and sat back again.
My note: Sirius is genderfluid and uses He/Him pronouns. Remus is deaf with a cochlear implant.
Lay Your Hands on Me -Features Remus/Sirius and background Lily/James. 8947 words. Rated E.
In which Sirius really likes trying out new hairstyles over the years and Remus really can't concentrate on much else, to be honest. This fic features reckless and impulsive teenage boys, classic Marauders-style banter, a low-key overdramatic Remus, and falling in love with close friends.
Or, alternatively: Three times Remus really wanted to touch Sirius' hair and one time he actually did.
Remus Lupin
TransFigured (and continued series) - Features Remus/Sirius. 57,170. Rated E.
“We thought you might be a werewolf," said Sirius. "What?" Remus almost laughed at the absurdity. "Last year. James and I thought — but the dates didn’t quite match up. With the full moons, I mean." "Well, I’m not." "I know. All I meant was, we thought you might be, and we still wanted to be friends. Whatever you’re not telling us — how much worse can it be?"
All Hail the Outlaws - Features Remus/Sirius and background Lily/James, Peter/Dorcas. 29,330 words. Rated E.
One of Remus Lupin's three jobs happens to be working maintenance for their flat building. He gets to meet all sorts, most of whom he would rather have nothing to do with. Until James Potter and Sirius Black move in across the hall. Engineering students and self-proclaimed geniuses, the pair set out to make their neighbours new best friends, and everyone's life is turned upside down, but in the best way possible.
My note: Sirius is blind, and the fic spends a lot of focus on each man’s experiences with bigotry and learning how to best be there for each other.
Succession of Halos - Features Remus/Sirius and background Lily/James. 7340 words. Rated E
When Remus gets talked into seeing his favourite author--Astronomy Professor S. Black--hold a stargazing lecture, he anticipates a stodgy old man in tweed. He does not expect the ripped jeans and rolling-stones t-shirt wearing, motor-bike riding Sirius Black with his wicked smile and passion for the stars. Remus is sure there's no chance between them, but little does he know, Sirius has a passion for many things in life, one of which being Remus Lupin.
My note: I have this listed under Remus, but Sirius is also genderfluid. Baby Harry is featured in the story, and is blind.
Child Characters
‘Twas Brillig - Features Harry/Draco with failed Harry/Ginny. 73,998 words. Rated E.
Harry reads a chapter of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland to his children before bed every night and through the story, he and his middle child find an ally in each other as they, along with Alice, discover a world that just doesn't seem to make sense when taken at face value. The more aware Harry becomes - embracing his child's reality - the more motivated he is to build a wizarding world that is fully inclusive, and by processing these life lessons finds he's able to connect with another person in ways that have always eluded him.
My Note: There are two trans characters in this story, one being Al (who begins using Alice with Al still as a nickname) and another being an adult I’ll leave unnamed because it comes up organically. This story is as much if not more so about Harry’s sexuality, and there is also strong representation of drag and crossdressing from a cis male character.
Miscellaneous
When The Letter Comes by Sara Fox - A published short story that seems definitely inspired by Harry Potter but also by other fantasy works.
Henry believes that someday, something awesome will happen–everything will turn out all right and all her problems will disappear once her letter arrives, welcoming her to magic school. So even though puberty is already here with changes (like her voice deepening and hair growing in places she does not want), she also knows it’s only a matter of time. After all, hundreds of books have said so.
But when the letter finally comes on Henry’s thirteenth birthday, it is not addressed to her, but to her sister.
When The Letter Comes is a short story with a YA trans protagonist that embraces the experience of those left behind, who must find their own way in the world–magic or not.

Hey y'all! So, while I'm working on Curious, I'm also going to be working on a series of Not Snape For Work fics taking place in the same au as Curious, but will be tagged as #Kurious.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Curious is a Severus Snape x self-ship/x reader/x oc fanfiction. While it can be read as an x reader/x oc fanfiction, and I encourage y'all to do so, it is written first and foremost as a self indulgent fic for me. That being said, it tends to take inspiration from many aspects of my life, such as, but not limited to, my C-PTSD, my personal traumas, my personal Snape headcanons, my interests, etc. This is just a general warning for all chapters of Curious or Kurious, in case this would make any potential readers uncomfortable.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Layers
Word Count: 2,123
Rating: E for explicit sexual content! Do not read/interact with if you are under 18, and I check every account that interacts with any of my posts.
Short Synopsis: Simone gets dressed with the help of our beloved Severus. This is a very subby sev with a much more dominant reader. Very heated and tender moments happen.
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○
Winter had always been your favourite season, but since moving to England, fall had replaced that spot in your heart. How it got to be so perfectly chilly. How you got to see the earth start it's slumber. How you actually got to layer your clothes for the chill.
Layering was always a habit of yours, just to regulate temperatures and help you feel safe. It gave you a sense of putting on armour. Literally placing protective charms on your clothes as you put them on, just to have a first line of defense. Your long skirts and slips bundling you up in a warm, comfortable pod, keeping you snug and cozy. Making you feel that safety you long for. But not many got to see the process. Severus, however, was one of those lucky few. One of the few you allowed to strip you of your armour, both literally and figuratively. But he'd yet to actually see you dress yourself.
After pulling an all-nighter of grading papers and potions with your help, you both decided to just stay the night in your cottage rather than have him worry about sleepy apparation nor making the trek up to the castle and then down to his quarters.
You always wake up early, seeing the sun not quite up just yet. Knowing that the night terrors and bad memories that often plauged your mind had led to you waking up long before anyone else once again. But it never failed to work you up, shaking as you sat up, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. After calming down, you got up, deciding to start your day sooner rather than never. Going through the motions of bathroom basics, brushing your hair, teeth, among other things, you finally started the process of getting dressed. But you hadn't realized someone was watching you. That someone had been watching you since your shaky exit from the bed, longing to reach out and hold you, but feared upsetting you more than you already were.
You pulled out your outfit for the day, stacking your clothes in the order in which you needed. Stripping down, assuming you were still the only one awake, you started to get dressed. As you slipped on a fresh set of lace panties, you could feel eyes on you. Knowing they belonged to a certain potions master, you bit your lip as you thought, Might as well give him a show.
You grabbed the first layer of your outfit; a simple pair of black stockings. You slowly pulled on your black tights, up, up, up your body, feeling every curve get enveloped in a sheer blackness. You wiggled your plush ass and thighs into the tight fabric, hearing a sharp gasp from behind you as you pulled the stockings all the way up and into place. However, you didn't look over. You liked teasing him.
Pulling out the second layer, a garter belt, you slipped it on. You smoothed it out over your curves, pulling the garter clips and letting them smack back into place, hitting against the sheer inkiness of your backside. You hear a groan sound from behind you, and you finally look over your shoulder coyly. And it was a sight to behold.
His hair was still disheveled from sleep, his face flushed pink from the scene unfolding in front of him. He was taking deep breaths, slow and steady, but it was merely an act to control himself. But his eyes gave away everything. Oh god, his eyes. They were so intense, staring at every part of you, drinking in your form, the hazy glow of the birth of dawn just barely silhouetting your body. They were dark and beautiful and hungry. And you planned to give him the meal of a lifetime.
"You know, Severus," You purred, finally turning towards him fully, hands covering your nipples,
" People are usually much more excited to see me take off my clothes." You continued, seeing a swathe of red overtake his face and the tips of his ears. His head snapped up, meeting your gaze, and guilt was now added to the mix of emotions swirling around in his eyes. Now that won't do.
You let your breasts free, walking towards him with the rest of your layers in your arms, folding them just so so that they propped up your breasts. He seemed shocked, looking at you, to your breasts, then to anywhere but you. As you got closer to him, he made a motion as if to speak, but stopped when you bent close to his ear. You could feel him shiver from your breath on him.
"Would you like to help me?" You asked, pulling away to make eye contact with him. He seemed shocked, mouth open and gave you a weak nod.
"You'll need to speak up if you want to help."
He opened and closed his mouth a few times, but after gulping, he managed a shaky, "Y-yes."
"Yes, what?" You teased. God how you loved to tease him.
"Y-yes, I would like to help you dress." He said, looking away from you. You pulled his chin up with a free hand, grazing his neck not-so-accidently. His breath hitched as you gave him a smile and a kiss to the corner of his mouth, and pulled away to meet his eyes again.
"Thank you, Severus." You said lovingly. Straightening up, you placed your clothes onto his lap, caressing up his outer thigh as you did so, and smirking when he shuddered at your touch. Yes, teasing him was your absolute favourite thing to do.
Sliding onto the bed, you swiveled your legs to either side of him, propping yourself on your elbows as you laid back. He seemed really flustered now, looking at the clothes, red as can be.
"Socks would be next, Sev. They should be on top." You instructed, loving how you get him worked up like this.
"Ah, yes, let me just-" He started, hands hovering over your leg, as if unsure you if you actually wanted him to touch you or not. As if you ever wanted him not to touch you.
"You can touch me, Sev," you say, placing your right foot into his hovering hand," I won't bite. Yet."
His eyebrows shot up, but he simply shook his head, taking the sock and placing it onto your foot and slowly rolling it up your calf. He caressed your curves and looked at you, that love and hunger returning to his eyes, all guilt having vanished from them. Now that's much better.
After rolling your sock to your calf, he gives you the same treatment to your left leg, placing it down gently. As he does so, you raise yourself up to your knees, leaning over and holding onto his neck. Stradling him, you leaned into the crook of his neck and spoke against his skin.
"Well go on, Severus." You started to kiss him, lightly, only to nibble on his collar bone. He whimpered. Music to your ears.
"Finish what you started."
"R-right!" He barked, starting to roll up your socks completely, groping your soft thighs with happy abandon, moaning now and again when you kissed the rights spots along his neck here and there. He palmed your ass as he grabbed the garter clips kissing your shoulder lightly, lovingly, as he clipped your socks into place. You pulled back, resting yourself on his lap.
He rested his hands on your hips, just staring out you.
"Why did you wake up so early?" He asked nonchalantly, but softly, making sure you met his gaze.
Shit. I'm busted.
"Nightmares... it's normal for me. I'm sorry, I-" You start to ramble, starting pull away, to close up. You hated having to explain, to have to get so wrapped back up in those thoughts and images. To relive something that wasn't even real.
"Do you really think you need to explain nightmares to me, Simone?" Severus cut you off, pulling you back to him, in more ways than one. His sarcastic tone and smirk would've hurt anyone else, but you saw that worry in his eyes, clear as crystal. Worry for you.
"No, I suppose I don't, Severus." You met his gaze with an equally arched brow and sarcasm, but you hoped he could see the graditude in your eyes, see what his touch and his words mean to you. Looking into his eyes, you cupped his cheek and closed the space between you, kissing him as tenderly as you could. He kissed back with a hunger, deeping the tender kiss into something more passionate. You both broke the kiss for air, panting. You could feel he was as hot as you, but you weren't done with your teasing yet. It never gets old.
"My bra, Severus, next is my bra." You panted out, resting back onto his lap. He blinks at your words, still drunk off of the kiss. God, I love him.
"Hmm? Oh yes, yes..." He said, catching his breath as he picked up the black, lacey bra on top of the now crumpled pile of clothes. You moved the pile out of the way, eyeing the erection that tented his boxers. As he slipped the bra onto your shoulders he kissed at your breasts, burying himself inbetween them as he latched your bra into place, moaning as you freed his cock, grazing it lightly with your nails, precum already starting to flow.
Smearing it over his head with your thumb, you felt him inhale sharply against your tits. You gave him a few slow, tortuous pumps before pulling your hand away.
"S-simone, please-" Severus pleaded, thrusting up into the space where your hand was.
"My shirt, Sev. That comes next." You simply said, knowing he'd listen to your every word. He always did.
He quickly pulled out your button up, sliding it over your shoulders. He started buttoning your blouse, fumbling here and there, cursing them. Serves him right, you thought, for all the buttons I have to deal with.
After he gets half way through, you take his cock in your hand again, pumping and twisting your wrist oh so deliciously slowing, pulling another moan from him.
"Now, Sev, you keep on buttoning me up. You wouldn't want me to stop, would you?" You said matter-of-factly, loving the games you played.
"N-no! I-don't stop, please..."
He moans as you pick up pace a little bit more. He starts buttoning up your blouse as fast as he can, little moans and groans emanating from his throat as you slow and quicken your hand's pace with his fumbles. It was delightful to see such skilled hands stumble. All because of you.
As the he fastened the last button, you let go of him, but just as Severus started to beg, you leaned down and licked his shaft from the base to the tip, eliciting a long moan from him. Perfect.
You took his head into your mouth as one of his hands found your hair, entangling itself in your long curls. Humming, you took him into your mouth, hands pressing down on his thighs to keep him from thrusting too hard. He grunted, feeling your vibrating tounge press against his shaft as you hollowed your cheeks, creating sunction as you started to bob your head slowly. He grunts again, thrusting a little as you start to go faster, pulling your hair just right, causing you to moan harder against him. You start to move your head quickly, flicking your tounge along the underside of his shaft in time to his small thrusts.
You can feel his cock pulse in your mouth as he calls out your name with a strangled cry. You pull off of him, letting him cum onto your blouse. You catch his glazed stare, his panting hard and quick.
"Oh, Simone, your shirt, I-" You cut him off by unbuttoning your blouse, tossing it off somewhere in the room.
"How was that?" You asked Severus, hugging onto his neck.
"That? That was-that was wonderful." He responded with a chuckle, draping one arm around you.
"You are wonderful." He finished, placing a lazy kiss on your head.
Now it was your turn to be flustered, whispering a soft thank you against his collar bone. You really did love him. He was so impossibly kind to you.
Suddenly, a mischievous thought crossed your mind as you realized it was Sunday. His off day. Oh, he is not leaving this bed today. You sat up, a glint in your eyes as his quizzical brow shot back up.
"Really? Well, if you thought that was wonderful, how'd you like to help me undress?"

A Snadger Story
Merry Christmas, @slytherincursebreaker !!
From your secret santa, @thewasp1995
Elia you know that hearts never lie
A scribbling of a quill scratched the line out.
“No that’s not it.”
Elia, where the mind rests the heart never sleeps
Were I never to wake to see you, tears I would weep
Another scribbling of the quill.
“Damn. Why can’t I find the right lines to this?” muttered a boy of average height with severe but handsome features and neatly combed brown hair.
Making sure no one else was listening in (the Slytherin dungeons were not very well lit and contained plenty of snoops) Felix dipped the quill back into the ink and attempted to resume his little project once more. But this wasn’t just another monotonous essay from Professor Snape….it was far more personal.
Felix Rosier had to resist blushing when he thought of Elia Westerling. A beautiful, vivacious Hufflepuff girl who hailed from Essex. The House of the Badger was often written off as uninspiring or even useless by some critics from other houses, but this particular Hufflepuff was someone he would never soon forget. Slim, curvy, with raven hair and hazel eyes, Elia had a personality to match- confident and self-assured but also playful and a tad mischievous which made her any boy’s match if they tried hitting on her. Felix had never tried himself, but by Merlin he wanted to and rather than embarrass himself with a cheesy pickup line, perhaps a poem would be able to better catch her attention.
Then there was the matter of her family- she was of mostly French and Turkish descent though she was English on her mother’s side, the fact was wizarding blood only went back two generations- two of her grandparents had been muggles. This made it that much harder to confess his feelings, his parents would certainly frown. He could already hear his older cousin, Evan admonishing him.
Intermarriage dilutes the magical blood, Felix. Even talking to one of those wretched creatures is an affront to everything we stand for.
Even with all this in mind, Felix had long decided not to pay much attention to his family’s pure blood prejudices. Elia was a witch that was indisputable, and a damn good one. He wasn’t going to let something so trivial get in the way of at least taking a shot. Besides, Evan had held onto that ideology with an iron fist and look where he ended up? Buried six feet under, killed by Mad-Eye Moody himself.
No, he wouldn’t let remnants of the Dark Lord’s memory bully him into deciding what he wanted, and that was Elia. The bigger question remained, however: how would he give her this poem?
“Alright, let me see…”
“Whatcha doin?”
The sound of a young girl’s voice made him jump almost ten feet in the air, spilling ink all over the desk.
“Merlin’s beard, Allison! Where do you get off sneaking up on people like that?”
“I don’t know,” the girl shrugged. “I was just bored and wanted to see what you were up to.”
Felix sighed. Allison Garrison had been nothing but a pain in his arse from the day she had arrived at Hogwarts. It was his first year being a prefect but the last he expected was for them to be so…blunt, or at least that was the case with Allison. She constantly talked back, caused mischief, and lost more house points from Professor Snape in one month than any other Slytherin in an entire year. His memory of his own time at age eleven was somewhat hazy but he was also quite certain that he had been able to keep his mouth shut for the most part.
This first year held no such ability.
“It’s just homework I have to do. Nothing that need concern you, Garrison.”
“It doesn’t look like homework.”
Good heavens, this girl just won’t let up.
“And how can you tell?”
“You keep crossing things out. Over and over again. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t take you that long to write a sentence for a Potions essay. And you’re mumbling constantly.”
Despite the negative attributes he associated with the first year Slytherin girl, Felix had to admit she could be quite clever and extraordinarily perceptive for someone her age. It was impressive and at times such as these, annoying.
“Whatever I’m doing, it’s still none of your business, Garrison. Now go.”
“This wouldn’t have anything to do with that Hufflepuff girl you’re always staring at-”
Felix cut her off with a temporary silence charm before lifting it.
“Must you always be a problem?”
“How’s it my problem you can’t tell a girl that you like her?” Allison responded sarcastically with a hint of a smirk. “Oh, I can picture it now. A snake and a badger together in never ending love. A snadger! Yeah, that’s what I’ll call it. Snadger!”
“Garrison, unless you want detention, I suggest you take your prattling somewhere else.”
That threat seemed to finally work as she had served a few already and would not enjoy another session pickling toad guts with Professor Snape. Nevertheless, she continued to taunt him as she left the room skipping and singing, “Snadger, Snadger, Snadger” all the way out of the common room.
“The little first year is going to give me an aneurysm someday,” Felix muttered to himself, attempting to return to his poem. With any luck, he could finish it before dinner and give it to Elia then.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Felix ran a hand through his hair as he entered the Great Hall, all abuzz with activity as it usually was. He knew Elia liked it that way, but he didn’t want to make it seem like he had done it on purpose. Better to be casually aloof and spontaneous than give away it was all part of a calculated plan.
Making his way over to the Hufflepuff table, he received some confused even hard stares from some of them. It was no secret that Slytherin was the least liked among the four houses and while the puffs were not quite as hostile as the Gryffindors, there was a clear stark contrast between ideologies: hard work versus ambition, fair play versus cunning, honesty versus doing whatever it took to win regardless of moral implications. Thankfully, Elia did not share such sentiments- they had been friends since first year after all, but trying to confess your feelings to girl was still nerve racking all the same.
He tried to calm himself, taking a deep breath through his nostrils.
Just ask for a moment of her time, which she’ll give you. Read her the poem, ask her to Hogsmeade and it’s over. Easy right?
Before he could debate further in his head, an odd sight made him stop in his tracks. A first year Slytherin girl that looked painfully familiar was already chatting away to Elia of all people. Feeling his stomach drop three feet, Felix rushed over as quickly as he could.
“Of all things…what on earth is she doing talking to Elia?” he muttered.
When he reached the scene, the horror reached new levels.
“Oh, hello, Felix,” Elia said, a hint of amusement in her voice. “I was just talking to one of your first years. She’s quite interesting you might say.”
“Interesting how?” Felix asked trying to keep his tone as light as possible.
“Oh, I told her everything,” Allison boasted but with a dangerous twinkle in her eye. “I told her you’re my prefect of course, how you keep trying to get me to stay out of trouble, the incident with Devil’s Snare, Merula, even giving me detention. She told me that you guys have been friends for over five years now.”
“That is true,” he replied tersely. Elia seemed like she was trying not to laugh but this was not unfolding the way he wanted it to. The mischievous look on Garrison’s face only spelled further trouble.
“So why haven’t you told her, yet? You know? About the po-mmhmhmmmff”
It was then that Felix’s patience ran out as he covered Allison’s mouth with his hand and spun her away from the Hufflepuff table.
“Very nice to see you, Elia,” he said forcing a smile that was more like a grimace. “But I do believe we must be going.”
He began leading Allison away but the Hufflepuff girl stopped him.
“Felix, it’s okay, let her go. I’d like to speak with you in private.”
Such a calm, reassuring tone from Elia, who rarely turned down an opportunity to tease him, helped deescalate the situation. He released Elia, but not before she licked his hand with her tongue.
“Ack! I’m not finished with you, Garrison. Stay here until I return.”
“Whatever you say,” Allison responded in that same sing-song tone. “Have fun, snadgers!”
Felix had to be practically led away from the Great Hall from the eyes of other prying Hufflepuffs, still mortified from Allison’s meddling.
She knows. She knows that I like her and she’s going to let me down easy. All because that stupid first year couldn’t shut her mouth for two seconds.
Upon exiting, Felix heaved a heavy sigh, figuring it was best to rip the bandage off quickly before the inevitable rejection came.
“Elia, I’m sorry about her,” he said. “I wanted to tell you myself, but she beat me to it, I guess.”
“Felix, you don’t need to apologize,” the Hufflepuff soothed him and then her infamous grin spread across her face like a Cheshire cat. “The truth is, I’ve known for some time.”
“Wait…you were already aware of how I felt?”
“Boys are hardly subtle,” Elia laughed. “Even a Slytherin such as yourself. I’ve caught you staring more than a few times.”
“So, why not say anything?”
“Well for one, listening to Allison jabber on like that was kind of cute.”
Felix couldn’t prevent the pink from spreading across his face.
“She’s getting detention for the rest of the year,” he muttered.
Elia placed a soft, feminine hand over his cheek, turning it to face her. This caused him to go from pink all the way to beet red.
“Felix, don’t punish her. She wasn’t trying to embarrass you; it was actually quite sweet. Nothing she told me was anything I didn’t know already. But she put in a good word for you, saying how you were a great prefect and how you wanted to ask me out with a poem. She thinks the world of you.”
He crumpled the piece of paper in his robe pocket.
“She does, eh?”
“Yes. And I don’t need a poem and an elaborate ritual to be convinced to go out with you,” she teased. “I’ll gladly go to Hogsmeade with you next weekend. Meet me in the courtyard at two o’clock.”
And then, without warning, Elia kissed him on the cheek and winked at him as she walked back into the Great Hall to rejoin the other Hufflepuffs.
Touching the spot where he had received the kiss, Felix proceeded to shuffle back towards the Slytherin table in a bit of a daze, wondering if he had actually just scored a date with the girl of his dreams until a loud, familiar voice snapped him back to reality.
“Felix?”
The Slytherin prefect looked down and saw the little eleven year old girl staring up at him. Functionality returned to his brain, remembering that he had instructed Allison to remain in the Great Hall until he returned.
“You told me to stay here. What’s my punishment?”
Looking into the eyes of the precocious first year, Felix knew she had tried to play matchmaker on purpose and true to Slytherin form, used her own brand of cunning to do it. But more so than that, he also knew that Allison also genuinely tried to make him look good as well, appealing to Elia’s heart and sensibility. The newfound revelation that this first year not only tried to help but liked him was touching.
“You’re off the hook this time, Garrison. Enjoy your dinner.”
Allison mocked fake surprised, but the twinkle in her eyes gave her away.
“Wow! Thanks, Felix! You really are the best prefect ever.”
Giving him a big hug, she skipped away to her friend Rowan but before sitting down, she added, “Enjoy your snadger date! Snadger, snadger, snadger…”
Felix rolled his eyes but allowed a slight smile to cross his face.
He knew this would not be the first nor the last time Allison Garrison caused him trouble.

Odds Short Stacked Against
So, this was my very first commission!! for a user who wishes to remain anonymous.
The commission was for a short stack story about their OC named Gabe who’s a non-binary living doll. It was fun writing NB weight gain (and something I’ll do some for considering I need to write something for best NB Chinese emperor from fgo)
The commissioner asked for the work to be based off of another commission they got.
Thanks again so much for this!!!
-----------------------
Grumbling, Gabe slams their door close as they trudge back inside. Usually pristine clothes are instead tattered, holes and scratches littering their light pink shirt and teal shorts. Orange hair in a ponytail when they left the house, the style had come undone earlier from running for their life. Closing their eyes, they inhale deeply through their nose before breathing out of their mouth. Shoulders relaxed, Gabe immediately tenses up as they reach for the wooden charm placed at their hip. Yanking it off, the fabric keeping it tied tears, Gabe throwing it to the floor. They bare their teeth as they smile down at it, their right foot pressing firmly down on it. Crunching it under their heel, the wood audibly splinters apart. The awful purchase better off broken, Gabe dusts their hands with the deed done. Taking a confident step with their left, the broken wood offers the perfect opportunity for them to lose their balance, Gabe groaning as their ass hits the floor.
“Damn thing,” Teeth clenched, Gabe lets out a sigh. Dismissing the charm with their hand, they drag their feet. Worn out, they pay zero attention as they grab a broom. Sweeping the broken chunks of wood, Gabe discards them in the trash can. The charm’s parting gift revealed, Gabe stubs their right foot as they turn around.
“Ughhh!” Broom tossed against the wall before it ultimately clunks to the floor, Gabe stomps their foot. Their right foot. Pain still tender from stubbing it, Gabe purses their lips. Mentally counting to ten, Gabe adds another ten numbers. At twenty, they count to fifty instead. Unpursing their lips with a sigh, they push their matted bangs out of their face. Visibly recoiling from the gross foreign texture, the day’s grime becomes apparent.
Deciding a break to be the best course of action, they take a seat on a chair. A wooden one, dirtying a perfectly pretty chair on their already awful day would serve only to upset them even more. Hands on their bony thighs, they stretch out their legs. Leaning forward, their spine thanks them, the stretch appreciated by the sound of the resulting cracks. Sitting straight, they stretch their left arm, placing it behind their head before doing the same with their right.
“Okay,” Gabe mutters to themself. “I at least destroyed that stupid fake good luck charm,” Crossing their arms, they puff out their chest from the meager accomplishment.
Starting the day with a whim, a usual occurrence when it came to Gabe, they had decided upon waking up to visit Victor’s store. Victor an alchemist, Gabe’s intended window shopping quickly turned into real shopping once Victor had captivated them with his simple magic tricks. A puff of smoke popping up from mixing two round-bottom flasks, vibrant liquids bubbling despite a lack of heat, strange insignias never before seen, foreign body parts from even more foreign animals, they had all enticed Gabe. Yet Victor’s relaxed disposition had been the enticing nail in the coffin. Calm level voice hiding all sense of achievement and prowess, the nonchalant behavior as Victor confidently explained each item Gabe pointed to only added to Victor’s cool charm. An alarming amount of said items allegedly dangerous when congested, Gabe’s proud proclamation of being a living doll only earned a simple raise of his brow from Victor.
The most fascinating of all was a small wooden carving of a Lily of the Valley, Gabe finding the small trinket adorable. Small runes carved into the back, the curves yet rigidity behind said runes had enchanted Gabe, the item already a certain purchase to them. Victor’s offered explanation of the item served their purpose, Gabe not bothering to haggle Victor upon the price, a serious overcharge. The item a good luck charm, Victor told Gabe of its mysterious properties, the item not offering a specific branch of good luck, but instead offering varying good luck depending on the day. Gabe a lover of the unexpected and brand new, an effective roulette of good luck seemed like the best invention ever.
Gabe’s pocket lighter than it was in the morning, Victor’s had ended heavier, Victor smiling to himself at the good luck being offered to all but the charm’s wearer.
No further than twenty feet away after their purchase, Gabe had the misfortune of stepping in mud, their shoes ruined. Growling sounding behind him, a wild dog had promptly chased after Gabe. Lithe figure adept in physical activities, not getting mauled further motivated him to run. Rushing through branches and shrubbery, their long silky hair kept getting snagged. Wasting time to unsnag it left them with the sole viable option of climbing a tree. Forced to wait an hour for the dog to leave, their slow trek back home ended with Gabe realizing they dropped their keys. Backtracking to find them taking an extra hour, the day was a horrid experience.
The charm obviously a fake, that led to Gabe’s current situation; tired and stewing in anger. Hauling themselves out of their chair, the chair left out, Gabe goes to complete their first objective, the act necessary to them.
A nice hot steaming shower.
Plush towel ready, they quickly discard their current scraps for clothing and toss them to the floor, the clothes too unsalvageable to even be placed in the hamper. Warm water ready, the fresh cleansing cascades down Gabe, Gabe leaning towards it. Standing still, they remain still for a couple of minutes, the rushing water hitting the floor the only sound. Having enough, Gabe reaches for the shampoo. Gently lathering their hair, they scrub their body of the day’s sweat and grime. The gross coating washing away, Gabe takes their time, the reminders of today disappearing. The last remnants gone, they step out of the tub. Clogging the drain, they wrap their towel as they rummage around. Bottles of varying scents and fragrances, Gabe pushes each one out of the way. Face lighting up, they snatch the bottles in the back.
Reserved for more trying times, Gabe generously pours epsom salt and lavender into the bath as it fills. The chilly air nipping at their wet skin, they dip a finger into the warm waiting bath, contentedly swirling the water as they bob their head. The tub generously full, they turn off the faucet. They place their towel on the counter. Stepping in, they slowly bring themselves down. Gabe sighs, their neck below submerged. Crossing their arms, they shuffle a bit, the water sloshing around them.
Sinking in, the cool porcelain tub barely feels there, their tub spacious. Eyes closed, they hum, their tired state aiding in appreciating the tepid water and the sweet subtle scent, the room also completely silent. Relaxing further, their shoulders sag, weight let go; their breath evening out, Gabe’s mind begins to wander as they drift asleep.
Cool air nipping at them, their revealing crop top leaves them bare to the chill of the night; Gabe rubs their arm as they survey the room. Wooden shelves, wooden floors, wooden desks, everything in the room is wooden with the exception of the corked bottles of various liquids housed inside. Some containing labels with descriptions, others contain labels with a single word while the rest offer no such thing, the container completely barren. No potion the exact same hue, the collection entrances Gabe as they reach for the nearest one. A puff of gray smoke appearing in front of them, Gabe recoils as Victor appears. Shorter than Gabe, his scowl still sends shivers down Gabe’s spine, Gabe keeping their hand to their chest. Swallowing the lump in their throat, Gabe shoves Victor to the side, a small “oof’ let out as his bum hits the floor. Uncorking the violet potion, Gabe shoves it in the disoriented Victor’s mouth. Grabbing the thrashing Victor’s arms, Gabe keeps him in place as the liquid drains down his throat. Grinning and laughing, Gabe smirks down at Victor as he lets out a small burp, Victor’s face flushed as he lets out a moan.
Gabe’s laugh slowly dies down as Victor suddenly appears closer to them. Victor still sitting on the floor, Gabe takes slow steps back as Victor rises. Victor standing up, his thigh reaches Gabe’s head; he leans down as he grins maniacally at Gabe. Another step taken, Gabe’s back hits the wall as their brain hits the unfortunate conclusion of being trapped with a giant Victor. Victor’s head reaching the ceiling, the wood splinters off as he outgrows that as well. Gabe gulping, clouds thunder above as a streak of lightning strikes somewhere off in the distance. Rain suddenly pouring, the water pools up to their shins, Gabe flailing as the water continues to rise. Shivering, the cold water soon reaches their chest, Gabe’s hair flat and sticky against their neck and back. The water quickly reaching their mouth, Gabe finds themself not rising with the water level. Spreading their arms, their attempts at swimming to the surface leave them stuck at the bottom, the water continuing to rise as they remain at the bottom. Choking, more water forces its way down their throat, Gabe’s eyes closing as the last of the air in their body escapes in bubbles.
Water falling out and hitting the floor, Gabe clenches the sides of the tub, water spat out of their mouth as they cough. Throat uncomfortable after several painful coughs, Gabe heaves, hands caressing their neck. Sharply turning their head, Gabe relaxes back into their tub as they realize they’re still in their bathroom. Turning their arm as they inspect it, skin barely beginning to prune from being submerged for so long prompts Gabe to uncork the tub, the water draining down as Gabe dries themself off. Furiously scrubbing their skin with the soft plush towel, Gabe storms off to their room. Opening the closet, Gabe cowers and ducks as an army of moths fly out and head for the window, all of them leaving. Raiding their own drawers, several of their clothes appear torn with holes. Blaming almost drowning and now this to the stupid charm, Gabe tosses and discards the fabric in their search for something wearable. Coming up with only one option, Gabe glowers at the innocent fabric. The outfit actually appealing to Gabe, the wardrobe doesn’t scream espionage to them. Sucking it up, they hurriedly dress themself.
Inspecting themself, they grin at being ready for some proper revenge. Perhaps with such a getup, Victor will feel even more stupid for getting what he deserves. A cyan button up crop top, the top is one of Gabe’s favorites. The four buttons each a suit of a deck, the little detail had caught their attention. The crop top also going up to their neck, the upper portion is composed of purple to help break up the solid one note collar, the purple and cyan broken up by a black line. The top form-fitting, the fabric neither wrinkles nor compresses their body, Gabe’s petite chest finely caressed in the fabric as his bare lithe stomach is shown for all to see. Low cut purple shorts on, the end of the fabric barely reaches past the underside of their ass, the fabric perfectly encircling the defined yet not overly filled cheeks. A garter belt underneath that, the black fabric holds up their tights; the tights filled with black and white diamonds, the very top of the tights lined with pink frills. Their hair styled, Gabe had gone with a less free look, putting their hair into double buns, the rest of their hair framing the sides of their face. Grinning to themself, they race out of their door, the crescent moon offering the perfect blend of cover and light. The cursed charm still on their mind, Gabe carefully watched their steps for anything that appears suspicious. Gabe eventually navigates back to Victor’s house with nothing but their own memory to guide them.
Walking around the perimeter, no light is visible, the sole inhabitant seemingly away or asleep. Back at the front, the first trial appears. A locked door. Gabe smiles as they pick the lock with ease, numerous escapades similar to this making them an expert when it comes to snooping. Carefully opening the door, they lift it up to ensure it doesn’t creak. Peaking, the living area is barren of Victor or any real sign of inhabitants really, only a few of victor’s materials lining the table. Gently closing the door, Gabe rubs their hands with a wide grin. Padding across the floor, they constantly turn their head to and fro, on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary. Nothing turning up, they slither against the walls as they make their way into the hallway. A few doors lining the hallway, light snoring comes from their right. Hunched over, they tiptoe towards the source. Door open, Victor lies in the bed, his black hair splayed out as he sleeps. Forcing themself to not approach Victor and giving him a nice throttle, Gabe turns on their heel, carefully marching down the hallway. Coast clear, they peak their head into the other doors, pursing their lips as they come across mundane rooms such as a closet and a guest bedroom. The very last door at the opposite end of the hallway, Gabe slowly opens it, taking a glance inside. The goldmine found, Gabe holds back their snicker, hands thrown wildly in the air. Their brow furrows as the room appears near identical to their little dream turned nightmare. Potions once again a myriad of colors not used to seeing, each different in some aspect, Gabe hesitantly reaches out for the nearest potion once more. The potion the exact shade of vibrant violet as their dream, Gabe recalls the effect. Victor turning into a giant from the potion in their dream, Gabe shudders, imagining the real consequences of angering a giant alchemist. Scanning the other potions, Gabe lightly taps their right foot on the floor, the expansive options before them daunting. Hand on their hip, the potion, still in their hand, resting on their hip catches their attention. Idea forming, Gabe kisses the bottle.
If it turned Victor into a giant, then it should turn them into a giant as well! Patting themself on the back, Gabe uncorks the potion, swirling the contents in the flask. Ignoring any notion of strangeness from somehow perfectly envisioning Victor’s hoard of potions in their dream, Gabe chugs the potion. Surprisingly sweet, yet not overwhelmingly so, the watery liquid goes down smoothly, Gabe smacking their lips at the end. Burping, they blush as they bring a hand to their mouth. The flask let go of, it thunks against the floor, glassware absolutely fine.
Warmth filling the pit of their flat stomach, Gabe happily stares at the floor, expectantly waiting for it to appear more distant. Instead, they gasp as it feels closer. Neck uncomfortably rubbing against something, they bring their hands to their chest. Soft plush skin met, they pull back. Slowly bringing their hands back, the task a tad bit harder than it should be, the sensation remains the same. Two sizeable mounds for breasts fitting in their hands, Gabe gulps. Eyes widening, Gabe feels the heavy weight of their breasts increasing, their arms faltering. Their crop top filling out with breast, Gabe grimaces as the fabric cuts into their skin, the growing rolls of fat seeming more in number with more divots. The fabric slowly spreads apart where it buttons up, more of their fair skin becoming exposed. Their arms thickening slightly, the added adipose hanging off is insignificant to the jugs they sport. Chest welling up, the inner portions of flesh begin to press against each other, Gabe’s back straining to keep a straight posture. Slightly hunched over, Gabe huffs. Glancing down, they let out a whimper, their eyes making contact with only their billowing breasts as they continue to grow out further. Buttons digging into them, Gabe lets out a gasp as the cool air hits their nipples, the expansive areola now free from the crop top as their breasts splay out the side. Hands clinging to their breasts, Gabe’s fingers sink into them; their arms quiver under the crushing weight, their breasts surpassing the size of their head.
Too concerned over the heavy growth of their breasts, Gabe’s mind forgets about the rest of their body. Fingers widening a bit, the slim digits appear fatter, more akin to sausages. Their flat stomach also slowly fills out with fat, a small sliver of pudge protruding. The bit of pudge grows to a small overhang, the effect barely discernible with Gabe’s breasts sagging low enough to cover their stomach. Gabe’s thighs experience the second greatest effect of the potion, the deft flexible limbs widening and thickening. Bits of flab folding on itself and creating divots, the colossal thighs rub up against each other, Gabe unwittingly widening their stance every couple of seconds only for the extra space to be occupied soon after. Gabe’s shorts stretch to accommodate the needed room, the waistband utterly digging into them. Shorts rising up, the clinging fabric exposes more of Gabe’s meaty thighs, accentuating their size. Their fat pad presses against the front of their shorts, the bump noticeable. Gabe’s ass also growing, the once flat butt fills out as they also strain their shorts. Already having been slightly exposed, the lower portions of flab sag down as the shorts cut into them, Gabe’s ass also exposed at the top. Their shorts are akin to a headband for their ass, the middle portion of fat squeezed tight as the upper and lower portions ooze out.
As Gabe’s growth continues, they also begin to shrink. An impressive 6’2 unfitting for Gabe’s impish nature, their height diminishes, limbs contracting and shortening. Shrinking inch by inch, their overall area decreases, Gabe’s newfound weight becoming more compact and wider in return. Reaching a decent 5’7, Gabe’s height declines further, every piece of furniture becoming comically sized for Gabe. Shrunken more than a whole foot at an even five feet tall, Gabe’s proportions seem comical, their billowing fat overtaking their short frame. Shrinking down further, Gabe soon becomes nearly the same width as they are tall. Their breasts spread out wider than that, all of Gabe is overwhelmingly large at their new miniature four-foot stature.
Heavily breathing, Gabe’s breaths come out strained. Leaning over, their oversized breasts sag; Gabe digs their heels into the ground to avoid toppling over. Concentrating, Gabe struggles to stand up straight, Gabe groaning and panting to do so. Arms buckling, they take a tentative step forward.
Nearly falling again, their thighs chafing where a thigh gap once was, Gabe looks down. Unable to see anything but their breasts, they sigh. Unable to see, but able to feel, their thighs squish against each other. Ass offering somewhat of a counterweight, the amount is negligible to their breasts, Gabe desperately trying to push them up with their arms.
Looking up, Gabe groans as they realize their other predicament. Incredibly short, even the doorway feels far taller than it should. Looking behind them, the shelves lining the room feel impossibly tall, the task of grabbing them alone at this height difficult, with jugs the size of theirs, it feels downright impossible. Warmth bubbling again, Gabe closes their eyes, whimpering. Bracing for another growth, the warm sensation travels up their body.
Instead, they let out another burp; Gabe unable to control the volume, it lasts for a couple seconds, Gabe positively red.
“So that’s what that potion does,” Victor thinks to himself as he stands in the doorway, his loud intruder having woken him up. Having to look up at Gabe this morning, Victor instead strains his neck to look down, Gabe’s head barely coming up to his chest. Examining Gabe, Victor keeps a straight face as Gabe appears more tits and thighs than anything, their tiny exaggerated hefty frame and hourglass figure hidden by their recent growth and pudge.
A shadow over them, Gabe trembles. Eyes wide, they look up. Caught in the act, they stumble to make a getaway. Thick thighs chafing, Gabe widely swings one to take a step. A hand on their shoulder, Gabe lets out an oof, wheezing. Glaring at Victor, Gabe lets out a shriek as he pushes them back, Gabe’s hefty rump softening the impact. Their eyes widen as the floor noticeably shakes.
Victor conjuring up a clipboard, he scribbles on it.
His captor distracted, Gabe forces themself to stand. Breasts in the way, they press down into their thighs. Unable to stand up normally, Gabe places a hand on the floor. Jiggling back and forth for momentum, their body shakes, rolls of fat hitting against each other. A hand placed on their shoulder again, Gabe pauses. Victor looming over them, Victor has to kneel to even place a hand on their shoulder. He has another potion in hand.
Flipping the page, Victor titles it potion # 2, uncorking the bottle.
Gabe shifting uncomfortably, their massive mammaries wobble back and forth, slapping their gelatin-like thighs. Their shorts shift around their ass, loosening and tightening. Their awful luck from the charm catching up to them still, Gabe whimpers as the second bottle gets placed against their lips, Victor ready to write the effects for the first experiment of many.

Cursed
First day of Marichat May and guess who’s late?? All well, this is my incredibly rushed take on the witch AU (I may re-write it in the future because I feel like I missed a bunch of important info, but for now this is it):
Marinette Dupain-Cheng had spent sixteen years of her life accepting that she was as unlucky as a person could be. She might have even gone so far as to say that her luck was worse than a black cat’s. So, at sixteen, when a spiteful witch cast a life long curse on her Marinette could do little more than shrug. The only reason she wasn’t completely content with her fate was because this curse had involved some one else as well.
Adrien Agreste had words. Tons of angry, violent and pleading words. He couldn’t believe that anyone as horrible as Lila Rossi could exist, but the proof was staring up at him in the form of two tiny black eyes. His anger and grief hit him like a punch to the gut as he imagines the soft tones and words Marinette would use to placate him, but he wouldn’t get to hear them. Not tonight, not for the past three thousand six hundred and forty nights and probably not for any of the nights coming.
Almost ten years ago to the day Lila Rossi, an experienced witch with a cold, spiteful heart had cursed two lovers to never be together again even if they were constantly with each other. In a fit of jealous rage she had spat out a dark, lost language that bound Marinette and Adrien to Ladybug and Chat Noir. So the two could exist as human or animal, but never at the same time.
Often the two would quarrel, via messages left in a journal, who got the short end o the stick. It was difficult to keep up an argument through written word which could only be updated and read every twelve hours. It was especially difficult to quarrel when the person you were upset with was right beside you...just as an animal (or insect).
All inconveniences aside the two had adjusted to their new life quite well. Perhaps Marinette was fairing better than Adrien, but it was only natural considering she was allowed to be human during the day when people and sunshine would do more than just pet your head. Being destined to wonder the night could not be healthy for the psyche.
There was also the fact that her companion was a cat. A cat which she could hold and hug, run her fingers through his fur and just be assured by the general physical presence of the living creature. Which led to Adrien’s biggest question, “How do you hug a Ladybug?” The answer, so far, was a simple and short, “You can’t.”
Whenever Adrien brought this argument up Marinette would silence him with a quick, “I crave bugs, Chat. ALL. THE. TIME.” Looking at their garden, particularly the Broccoli with it’s mild aphid infestation, he shuddered at the thought of ever wanting to have those in your mouth. Even through the window they made his skin crawl.
A ray of light drew him out of his thoughts, reminding him that his time was dwindling. He quickly finished his journal entry for Marinette, complete with a short and cheesy poem, before he slipped the book back to its rightful place on the shelf. He rushed outside fumbling with the glass jar tied to his belt. initially Adrien had been quite against the idea of keeping her in a jar, but after a few near misses they both decided she would be safer there than on his arm.
The little ladybug flew out of the jar and landed beside him just before their transformations began. Blinding pink and green lights enveloped the entire garden and Marinette thanked her lucky star that she didn’t have nosy neighbors. “Cutting it close, mon minou.” Were the first words out of her recently humanized mouth. The black cat by her side lowered it’s ears and gaze to the floor.
Silence captured the two for a moment longer before the raven haired girl caved. “Oh, come here kitty. You know I can’t stay mad at you.” With a chirrup the cat jumped into her lap before they continued watching the sunset together. Slowly the oranges and pinks that painted the sky faded to light blue as the sun settled into it’s first position of the day.
“All right, to to get off Chatton, I have things to do.” She said as she tried to place Chat Noir off her lap. He sunk his claws into her skirt and refused to budge. “I’m serious you needy cat.” She wined as her efforts continued to be in vain. For a cat that barely weighed eight pounds he sure had a good grip.
“I have so much to do. I have to mix up those herbal remedies for Madame Chamack’s little girl, I’m literally Manon’s only hope. The book merchant in town should have gotten our special delivery and I don’t want to know what happens if you’re late to a dubious book exchange. Oh, and Alya’s going to be coming over for tea, dinner and until the morning. It’s a busy day mon minou, we can’t lounge about in the sunlight forever.” The cat, which had taken to peering at her from behind his whiskers, seemed unbothered by the work load before them and simply stared at her. “Please Adrien.” Those two words had the cat scrambling off her at record speeds, like a magic charm he couldn’t resist. Except Marinette would never use magic on him that way, he only had his own weakness to blame. That didn’t stop him from glaring at her like it was all her fault; all the way from the garden until they got down to her underground potions room and then some more are she worked.
As Marinette busied herself with chopping, mixing and brewing odd little plants and animal parts she sent sidelong glances to the cat glaring at her. Heaving a sigh she looked up from her work. “You’ve really become a grump over the past ten years, you know that?” At the deadpan stare she got in return she could almost hear Adrien say, ‘Being a cat does that to a person.’
Unfortunately her feline companion couldn’t actually voice his thoughts, but with the practiced flow of an expert she continued the conversation. Year together helping her understand his facial expressions all the more. “Remember mon minou, all this,” She gestured to the hundreds of potions books and ingredients around them, “is for us. Sure it’s been strugglesome to get the right books, and maybe it takes time to whip up these remedies, but it’s a small price to pay for privacy. We’re so lucky no one asks questions, kitty. We’ve both seen what the king does to suspected witches, your father is brutal. You just have to have faith in me and we’ll get through this, I promise.” Tears sat in her eyes, but the cat gave up it’s angry stare. She willed herself not to cry, there was a time and place for that. That time was no today and the place was not here.
After brewing her chopped ingredients and finishing off the remedies with short incantations Marinette went over to Adrien who was napping in one of the many boxes strewn around. Gently she woke him up, “Come on Chatton. We’re taking a trip to town.” The words made him alert and not five minutes later Marinette was walking through the village, a black cat chasing the ends of her skirt.
The day flew by between travelling and concerned voices, hushed exchanges and excited tears, silent arguments now embedded with a new feeling of hope. The nameless merchant in town had the book they were looking for. It held such a large piece of the puzzle that was undoing their curse.
