Chapter 2: Dami's Whale
PREV | AO3
They had warned him several times to never lower his guard. Never.
To never underestimate his opponents.
And yet he did, causing this current dilemma.
“Give it back!” Damian yelled, running after a howling Jason, Damian chasing him with a Nerf gun in his hand.
“I’m so glad it’s only a Nerf gun in your hand!”
“You’re lucky Dad doesn’t- Dad!” Damian yelled upon seeing their father enter the foyer, scowling at the fact that he just missed a shot. “Dad! Jason won’t give me back my sketchbook!”
“Jason.” Bruce tried to say sternly but failed when a smile escaped him. He had come back from work, Alfred walking off with his coat in hand and wasn’t expecting to hear Damian call him Dad shortly after entering the manor. After all, he was always calling him Father up until a few weeks ago. “Give Damian back his sketchbook.”
“I say you look at it. You should really be getting him better materials for his drawings instead of whatever office supplies you keep getting him.” Jason suggested as he gave back Damian his sketchbook. “Like seriously, whatever you’re getting him keeps drying up the day he opens it.
So I asked an artist buddy of mine to give me some suggestions.” Both stifled a smile when Damian’s scowl softened upon hearing the words ‘art store.’ “He highly suggested Holbein gouache or Winstor and Newton acrylics for someone who paints.” Jason said with an innocent smile.
The boys watched as Bruce gave it some thought.
“I’ll ask Alfred to look into it and we’ll take Damian to pick out whatever he wants.”
“We’re going to an art store?” Damian asked with a twinkle in his eye. “Can I get whatever I want?”
“He’d buy the whole store while you’re at it.” Jason instigated, watching Damian stare at his sketchbook.
“Dad, we have to go. Now.” Damian practically begged, lifting his sketchbook to his father’s face. “I’ve been meaning to turn more of my sketches into portraits to put around the manor.”
“Excellent idea, Master Damian.” Alfred spoke, returning from the coat room. “The manor can surely use a more modern touch to its decor. Your paintings will add a nice touch of color to this dreary place.”
“Alfred.” Bruce tried to admonish but was met with an unfazed look from the man.
“I’ll make sure to leave a list of some nearby art stores on your desk. If you’ll excuse me, I have dinner to prepare.”
-
Calls. Bruce forgot how much he hated them. But this one was an exception.
Bruce was already halfway through settling the conditions he had set down for the art store he had planned to take Damian that weekend when the boy himself hung up the call.
Bruce watched as Damian lifted his finger from the switch hook, his eyes not once looking away from Bruce’s. Bruce listened as the dial tone droned in his ear.
“Damian. I was in the middle of finalizing the trip to the-”
“I know.”
“So why-”
“Can’t we just enter like any other customer?”
“But you’re not any other-”
“Can’t we just go? I don’t care if people see us go in just like that. You’re my dad and- people should accept the fact that you’re my dad. And just like any other dad, you’re spending quality time with his kid- me. Is that too much?”
And with that mini speech, Bruce agreed to just walking into the art store that weekend, doing his best to ignore the glances he and his son would get every now and then.
Bruce had his share of following people around a store and trying to understand their enthusiasm regarding products. He would smile and give them nods of approval and sweet words of encouragement as they would ask him questions about items he could care less about.
But unlike the various times he had to follow a woman around a jewelry store, Bruce found himself intrigued and actually invested in the conversation between Damian and the store employee who greeted them upon their arrival.
It didn’t take long for Bruce to completely ignore the stares and whispers that surrounded the two.
Heck, he was too busy absorbing every piece of information the store employee gave them, he didn‘t realize they had already been in the store for two whole hours.
He listened as the employee would ask Damian what media he was looking for and what type of project he was working on.
They discussed different types of media, the types of paint and texture each variety would give him. How oil paint would give him the texture he wanted in this project but if he was on a short deadline, it would not be recommended to use.
Damian would then go on a lengthy discussion on how he didn’t have a deadline and would much rather use oil paint opposed to acrylic due to the tones he needed for this piece, considering he needed a paint that had a longer drying time frame. He also had to consider that he wasn’t set on all the colors of his painting and had found mixing oil paints was easier for him compared to acrylic paint.
Bruce couldn’t forget the face the employee made upon hearing that.
Wrapping up the media choice, they moved on to canvases, something called gesso, as well as thinning and thickening agents for the paints. They then spent another hour at the brush aisle, Damian carefully selecting at least 20 different brushes before they made their way to the register to pay.
Luckily there was no one in line and the employee who had helped them already placed most of their items into several canvas bags. Paints, carefully wrapped brushes, bottles of unrecalled liquids, palettes and containers peaked from them. When Bruce was told the whopping total of 700 and something he had to pay, Bruce just handed over his card.
‘Pocket change,’ was all Bruce could think of when he heard the price.
As they waited for the employee to finish the transaction, Bruce realized it was already three in the afternoon. He turned to Damian to ask him what he wanted to do afterwards.
Maybe he was hungry. They had skipped lunch after all.
“Damian, what do you think about going to- Damian?” Bruce called out when he realized Damian wasn’t by his side, feeling a pit in his stomach.
He was starting to notice the edges of his vision fuzz as he scanned the area near the counter.
Empty, save for a single person who just realized Bruce was standing right in front of them.
“Damian?” He called out again, apologizing to the staff and letting them know he was coming back as he found himself picking up a jog as he searched the store for his son.
“Damian.” But no response. “Damian.”
“Damian!” His chest felt heavier with each aisle he found void of his kid, his eyes darting all around as he passed by yet another aisle with no Damian in sight.
“Damian!” He called out once again, when he came to a halt when his eyes caught sight of Damian standing near a gallery tucked in the back of the store. “Damian!” Bruce scolded as he turned the boy around to face him. “What are you-”
“She made that.” Damian cut him off, turning back to look at the wall behind him, Bruce only then realizing that the gallery was a collection of paintings. With a quick glance, he realized it was a collection of paintings put together by participants from one of the store’s events.
A Mother’s Memories.
Each painting that hung on the wall portrayed one of the many memories that a mother who participated in the event cherished.
Some mothers had painted their kids at a park, a family outing, visiting a farm or aquarium. Family time at home. Holidays. Birthdays.
Every painting had a child painted on the canvas, the children usually smiling back, except one.
There, on the upper most corner to the right, on a canvas no bigger than a sheet of paper was a painting of what appeared to be a bathtub filled halfway with water. A fluffy baby blue towel hung on its side, bubbles floating on the surface of the water. And there, right in the center was a lone blue whale.
The tiny baby toy smiled right at them, as if having been waiting for them all this time.
Bruce looked back at Damian, noticing his son stuck in a trance. “She made that.” He said again, but louder this time around.
“She? Who are you referring to?” Bruce dared to ask.
“Momma did.” Damian easily answered, Bruce hearing his breath hitch. There was that name again.
Momma.
Ever since Dick told him about the day he found Damian talking about a person named Momma, he tried his best to coax an answer from Damian himself. But every time he tried to, all Damian could remember from her was the color of her eyes and her voice.
“Talia?” Bruce asked, hoping it would jog up his memory a bit.
Maybe this time, Damian could recover some information on the woman he once called ‘Momma.’
“No, Momma.” Damian clarified, his brows furrowed. “Mother never delved into the arts the way Momma did. She’s the one who taught me how to draw.”
“How did you figure out she was the one who made it?”
“The whale.” Damian pointed out, letting out a ‘tt’ when Bruce only stared back at him. “Momma made me that whale with her magic. There’s no other whale like that anywhere in the world.”
Bruce looked back at the whale, wondering how that exact whale didn’t look like any other baby toy on the market. “Momma even made sure to flawlessly replicate the Guardian’s Emblem at the top of the whale’s head.”
Guardian’s emblem? What was a Guardian?
“Emblem?”
“Don’t you see it?” Damian asked. “It’s right there.” Damian tried to point, but the longer Bruce stared at the whale, he couldn’t see what Damian was able to. “Dad, it’s-”
“Oh, I see you’ve taken a liking to one of my favorite pieces.” A voice spoke up, Bruce and Damian turning to see an old lady with a red ladybug cardigan. Her gray hair was short, two strands framed her wrinkly face, the curl ends reminding Damian on bug antennae. “Such a heartbreaking story that one has.” She said, tutting as she remembered the tale.
“Heartbreaking?” Bruce asked. “Did something happen to the artist behind, um.”
“Dami’s Whale. That’s the piece’s name.
When I asked Marie why she chose to draw this piece, she told me that bath time was her baby’s favorite activity of the day.” The lady smiled when she saw Damian quickly look back at the painting.  “She told me she would do anything in the world to go back to those times, saying his squeals and laughter were all she needed to get through that part of her life.
When I asked her what she meant by that, she told me one thing.”
“What did she say?” Damian asked, returning his attention to the old lady. “What happened to her? To her baby?”
“They took him away from her.” The lady softly said, frowning. “She only loved him the way she was meant to love him. And they took her away from him.”
“They got separated?” Bruce tried to understand what the owner was trying to say.
“That I would not know. Shortly after finishing the piece, Marie suddenly got a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.”
“The hospital?” Damian asked, his voice warbling. “Is she okay? Where can I find-“
“You seem to be familiar with Marie, young one.” The lady looked at Damian and then at Bruce. “Do the two of you know-”
“He has been searching for other family members ever since he recovered some of his memories from his childhood.” Bruce provided. “He used to live with his mother as an infant but then lived with his grandfather when his mother couldn’t provide for him anymore.”
“Oh dear.”
“He was brought to me by social services once he passed away as I’m a family friend and someone his grandfather trusted” Bruce struggled to say as he half-lied to the owner. “Since then, Damian has been searching for his only other living relative.
Somehow, this painting of Marie’s seems to be a clue to finding his mother.”
“I see.” The old lady softly said, patting Damian’s head. “You must’ve really loved your mother, didn’t you, little one?”
“I had a whale like that as a kid.” Damian spoke to divert himself from the commentary of being seen as a child. “I want to ask Marie some questions regarding it…if she can.”
The old lady hummed
“Marie did tell me only a few people would be able to tell that the whale would attract some attention.”
“A few?”
“She told me to be wary of those who ask about her upon seeing that painting. But, she did tell me to do one thing if a young boy were to ever ask about her location.”
The lady took an envelope out of her pocket and handed it over to Damian, an oddly designed wax stamp sealed on it. “Do you recognize this?”
“It is a Guardian's Emblem.” Damian answered in a whisper. “It looks just like the one on-“ he looked up to tell the old lady it looked like the one on the whale only to find her gone.
“Where did she go?” Bruce asked, wondering what the hell happened.
Weren’t they just in front of a gallery?
How did they manage to be standing outside the store with bags of art supplies in hand?
Bruce turned to Damian who still held the envelope in his hands.
Damian ran his finger over the wax stamp before deciding to open it, finding a photo of the same exact painting that was inside the store. Only, this time, he was also in the photo.
Or rather, his baby self was in the photo.
He looked so small. So fat.
He turned it over, feeling a weight lift off his shoulder.
You’ll find her at Gotham General Hospital. Best of luck, Damian.

Child Of Mine
09/20/2023
Chapter 17
First|Previous
Two years later, Mari and Alix had moved to New Jersey to rebuild their lives. Alix applied for the art teacher position at the local schools and Marinette had opened a small store. The girls had found a dreary location of Gotham and sold their condo in London to a starting out family.
You’re probably wondering what would make the girls move to this location. Well my dear Watson, a dart to the globe did. Their home lays between the shady side and the abandoned side of the great city. If you’re wondering, the shady side is the rich smugs who flaunt money and don’t care for their city. What? Did you think we were talking about the side that has all the criminals who just want to tear up their city and take over like kings? Ha! That’s the abandoned side.
See Mari and Alix did research on Gotham after their dart landed on this city. They learned about the “Amazing” Batman and his fledglings, the villains of misfits, and the rich and poor communities. Since the loss and found of their sons, Mari and Alix decided they wanted to be helpful towards the wandering children of Gotham. Alix teaches the kids in the art studio she and Mari bought when Alix is not working at the school. Marinette makes sure they are fed and clothed, with maybe some medical assistances.
Marinette was working with a client when Alix walked in with a paper bag, two to-go cups of coffee, and a slim briefcase. Mari had to hold back her chuckle watching her wife stumble over the furniture to reach the desk to unload her supply. Her wife’s once proper bun was scattered and frizzed as if she had been pulling at it all day.
“I think its time to cut your hair short again. You look like Ms. Frizzle.” Mari comments winning a chuckle the tall male.
“If those rich brats tell me free form is not art one more time and we will continue to have problems.” Alix responds, placing the bags and drinks down on the entertainment table, fixes her hair, and walkover circling the client. “Oh wow, when is the big day?”
“The gala is in two weeks, and I plan to propose to my girlfriend.” The client was a tall, strapping young man, crisp straight black hair that didn’t pass his ears unless untamed. He stood there trying to not be pricked by the seamstress as he shifted to look at the red head that entered the building.
“I’m thankful I had a suit already prepared so I didn’t have to do it all from scratch. And in short amount of time.” Marinette looked up with a smile as she gave a small giggle.
“Why ordering a suit so close to the timeline?” Alix asks as she sits down on the sofa with her coffee and watches. The young man looks down as he answers.
“My brothers thought they would be funny and use my best suit for a joke. I’m still amazed they were able to do it. But it cost me my only good suit.” The man looked grim at the memory again. He was getting a whole new suit thanks to his brothers pranks. They had taken his suit and put it on the cow and painted superman’s insignia on her chest. His youngest brother was really pissed that they did that to his cow and ended up shredding the suit up to get it off. Alix fell back laughing at response then covered her mouth.
“Shit, I’m sorry. Reminds me of me and my friends growing up pulling some dumb stuff like that. Mari shook her head then stood up.
“You guys were horrible with your pranks. Alright Dick, please tell me if you feel uncomfortable anywhere?” She addresses the man then steps back to watch him examine his new suit. He moved around freely then twisted, feeling no rubbing or tightness anywhere.
“This feels good. Thank you.” He gives her the most shiniest smile that could surpass Adrien’s.
“No problem. Go ahead and change out of them and ill have ready the day of the gala so you don’t have to worry about further damages. If you want, we can even bring it to your door.” Marinette offered. He gave another smile then went to the dressing area. Alix smiled as her wife turned to her and gave her own distressed smile. She offered Mari her cup of coffee and pastry from the bag. Gratefully she accepted then sat down with Alix and nibbled.
“What would I do without you.” She retorted.
“Absolutely die. Not even Chloe could revive you.”
“No, but she would try. Dr. Bourgeois is now top 20 in general doctor in France. She would definitely try.” Alix laughs holding her stomach. It was a shock to everyone when Chloe announced that she was approved to Med School in London after école secondaire. But she continues to prove everyone wrong.
“I think I saw she was suppose to be coming out here for Christmas with Adrien. Think the blondes can handle this dark life?” Alix asked earning another shudder and giggles from Mari. Dick steps out from the dressing room, dressed back in his jeans and button up blue and black plaid shirt, the full suit draped on his arms.
“You sure you can bring to my apartment the day of the gala? I hate to be a bother.” His concern showing in his tone despite his smile.
“Yes monsieur, it will be fine. Besides you’re paying full price for a premade suit. I hate to see the money go to waste.” Marinette says with a smile of her own. Standing she walks over and takes the suit from him, then place it on a hanger and hang it up on a rolling hanging line. “Now, go home and spend time with your family. I must close up.” He gave her another smile then runs out of the door. She didn’t need to lock up yet it was only after 17:00 after all, but she had mini-clienteles coming in and she didn’t want anyone to scare them off.
Taps on the back door sprung a smile on Mari’s lips as she ran to it. Quickly she opened the door and ushered the children in. It was only a small handful this time round.
“Quickly now. I have three bathrooms available if you all need ‘em, all on second floor and one down here. Feel free to shower if you desire. You’ll find fresh clean clothes sitting on hangers in the bathroom closets. I hope they are the right sizes. I will be in the front.” Mari turned away letting the kids get their space then headed back to the lobby. She had the blinds draped half – way up, just to allow sunlight to still enter, and double check to lock the door. Finally, a set of kids walk in the lobby with her and Alix.  It was three girls and two young strapping young boys.
“Oh my goodness you all look so cute! I’m glad they fit.” Marinette squeals happily. The youngest girls smile brightly, the oldest gave a curt nod. The boys just blush and scowl. “Oh, I’m sorry. You two look very handsome in your clothes.” This earned two happy smiles. Alix chuckles watching them all. Marinette crouched down to their level and adjusted the kids clothes accordingly, allowing room to grow and be able to still move around without contrition should they have to run away from strangers.
“Did you place your clothes in the hamper so I can wash them tonight?” All five of them nodded their heads. Mari smiles and stands back up, heading over to Alix to grab a couple of back packs. “Here, there are more clothes in here for you all. You are welcome to share them with others, but they are closer to your sizes. If you need more or just want to hang out, you are always welcome here.” Alix smiles as she hands the boys their bags.
“I even snuck in a couple of Mari’s famous homemade snacks.” She gave a wink as the woman gave a mock gasp of disbelief. The children giggle, even the oldest girl gave a mischievous smile. Closing the blinds completely, the girls walked the children out the back and to their “respective” homes. The couple stuck to the shadows watching them leave their sides, then headed out of the alleys to the main road to head home. Not aware of the time, the two decided to stop somewhere to pick up food. Thankfully, there was always the Tai place that remained open until midnight.
“Think we’ll run into him tonight?” Alix whispered to Mari on the way home holding their food bags. Mari shrugs holding Alix’s arm as they walked to their condo. Well aware it was time for patrol, the girls kept their eyes to the road avoiding to look around for the night crew.
The day of the gala couldn’t have come soon enough. Marinette was dressed as in her red pant suit and blazer featuring a white blouse ruffle down the front. Her hair was tied up in a tight professional bun pinned together by pearl barrettes and bobby pins. Sporting a pair of black kitten heels while Alix sported standard black slacks and a blue blouse, hair freshly cut to her old sporty, pixie style, and tennis shoes.
“Really?”
“What? You said dress business casual. Tennis shoes is the best casual.” Alix smiles innocently. Mari just shakes her head and smiles. They grab the dressing bag and head out the door to the addressed location. Luck was on their side, out of all the taxi cabs that never cross their living area, one comes by. They hailed it down then pass the address to the young man behind the wheel. The cab stopped in front of a rich apartment complex a couple blocks away from Wayne Enterprise. Alix hopped to main door, looked through the rows of name tags then pressed the button. The intercom let out a buzzing noise, then the door unlocked to let the girls in.
After three flights of stairs, they reach the apartment door greeted by loud shouts on the other side of the door. Fighting instinct, Marinette knocks on the door then tried to wiggle to doorknob finding it unlocked. They pushed the door open coming face to face with Dick wrestling with someone in his underwear. Alix let out a wolf call making the two men freeze in their spot and look up.
“Are we interrupting something?” Marinette asks. Dick quickly pushes against the other man to stand up.
“No, no. My brother just decided he needed to be an Ass.” Dick says turning his glare at the man below him.
“In your whitey tighties?” Alix smirks, raising a brow at the man. Dick’s face burns red. He leans over and grabs the blanket off the back of his sofa and wrap it around his waist.
“I-is that my suit?” He cleared his throat as he tried to speak. Alix and Mari laugh for his change of subject before handing the dress bag to him. Dick left the room to put it on, leaving the two with his so-called brother. The brother sat up on the floor and stared at the Alix and Marinette curiously.
“So, are you two going to just stay here until he pays you or are you looking for something else?” He asks clearly insinuating something inappropriate. Before Alix could say anything, Dick returned dressed dashing in the new black and white suit, with a tinge of blue that shined based on the lighting.
“Don’t you look sexy. If Kor’i doesn’t say ‘Yes’ I will.”
“Thanks Jason, but you’re not my type.” Dick says. “Thank you ladies. I’ll let you know what happens. Will need to commission you for future functions.” Marinette smiled widely.
“Always welcome to have the clients. Enjoy your gala.” They walk out and head back to the elevator when Jason ran up to them.
“Hey wait! I wanted to apologize.” Jason stops next to them, rubbing the back of his neck. Mari examined the young man, something about him feeling familiar to her. He stood a foot and a half taller than her in heels. White tuff of hair twirled in the front, body as brawny and muscular as her papa’s if she had anyone to compare to. His eyes held a bright blue hue to it but something about his eyes, something more, intriguing was drawing her in.
“Not a worry at all. Mari and I are use to mischief behavior all the time.” Alix gives him a wink then elbowed her wife, returning her back to earth. Before Marinette can say anything further, the elevator arrived and opened. “Our ride is here. It was a pleasure to meet you.” Alix drags the blunette into the machine and pushes the first floor. Mari just blinks and waves at the man hearing him just before the door closes.
“Another time.”

Now I remember all of my domestic Adrinette headcanons 🙃
Marinette killing it as a fashion designer with her own brand after Gabriel fucked off to jail or died or whatever.
Adrien being a proud dad/husband and a school counselor at the collége where their kids go. He also teaches fencing as an extracurricular.
Emma is the oldest who takes after her dad with blonde hair that she wears in pigtails. She can play piano, fence, and speak French, Chinese, and Italian. She also does ballet and karate.
Louis is the middle child, a year younger than Emma. He takes after his mom with black hair and grandma Sabine's grey eyes. He loves fashion design just like his mom and shares his mom's hopelessness in love.
Hugo is the baby of the bunch, a year younger than Louis, who takes after his grandpa Tom with his love of cooking/baking and brown hair and green eyes. An absolute cinnamon roll.

Prompt:
When they turned 25 Kagami and Luka came back and at the four of them finally beat hawkmoth and travelled to the temple so they could protect the miraculous and Kwamis (when the temple was restored after feast all the objects came back but when the guardians came back they rapidly aged so Marinette now had a secret magically fortified temple filled with a bunch of mini gods with only her and her three friends to restore it) at 30 Alix decided enough was enough and that Marinette gave up enough for the world and she deserved to be happy so Alix decided she will go back in time and save Marinette from being depressed and lonely.
She told the Kwamis what she wanted to do and they agreed so they went into the burrow with the Kwamis (only a few so that Marinette wouldn't get too suspicious) and looked at all the possible timelines and made various plans until they decided on one. Alix went back in time to when they were 17 and with Trixx she made herself look like a regular woman in her late twenties and sought out Ladybug and introduced herself as a descendant of a guardian that also escaped the temple being ruined and that she was currently living at the recently restored temple (in this Mari got the miraculous at 15 and became the guardian at around 16 and a half) and was taking care of the Kwamis there and offers to help her with the hawkmoth problem. Mari tentatively agrees and they are asked to help her defeat hawkmoth.
When they win, older Alix teleports them with Kaalki to the temple and teaches them everything that they learned themselves and tells her about the imbalances in the world and the lost Miraculous scattered around the world. At 24 Mari leaves the others to go about their lives and guard the temple while she travels. On her travels she destroys the pits and steals/saves Jason, Damian and a clone that she found(Heretic) that were there because they hadn't left yet. So she heals Jason of the pit madness and now she has three kids, a 17 year old and a pair of 7 year old twins. They travel, she maybe adopts others like Conner and they eventually get to gotham where she meets bruce and they either raise the kids together as friends or as a couple whichever you want.

Welcome to Maribat Bio Parent Month 2025!
After a year of “retirement,” I am back with this event! And with a few changes.
For starters, unlike in previous years, this event will be taking place in June, three months earlier than its usual month of September.
Wanted to spruce the event a little bit with its comeback :D
Second, just like it was mentioned in the return announcement, we’re opening the event to not just Bio Dad! Bruce but to all characters from both the ML universe and DC universe!
That’s right, all characters!
Use this month as an excuse to write that Mominette idea in your head or Bio parent! rogue idea and whatever else your heart desires (and would absolutely consume)!
Aside from these two changes, the event will run just like usual, with a bit of a twist.
The event will run from June 1 to June 30, each day being a different prompt.
But what’s the twist? We will also have a bingo card!
Each square in the bingo card will be a different character, having characters from both DC and ML characters. The goal: try to get a bingo by doing as many different types of bio parents prompts!
Of course, you are not obliged to do the bingo card but it’s just there for those who want to challenge themselves.
With that said, you can participate in as many or as few prompts as you like. There is no minimum nor is there a limit! Want to make art or just write a concept post? A playlist? Go for it! All types of contributions are welcomed!
Alongside the prompts on the calendar, we will also have ten other prompts you can substitute in for any prompt that doesn’t quite call to you.
With that said, the event prompts will be posted some time in late January so be on the lookout for those!
Questions, comments or concerns? Feel free to send an ask! I’ll gladly answer them all.
Thanks for reading,
Anju.

Constanstine starts acting sober on important missions/meetings for the JLD; he has a sanity-potion dealer
Zatanna reports this odd behavior to Batman, they interrogate him when his veins are swamped with alcohol.
C: … I-I know what yer doin’ [hiccups]
Z: We care for your well-being. You have bouts of sobriety that you seem to have control over.
B: Are you on something new?
C: M’yeah… is called a pwoz—piss—poise! Poise potion, yeah das it!
B: And who makes this “Poise” potion?
C: My dealah, my busniz. G’way! [stumbles out the door]
Z: … That went as well as expected.
Sober Constantine is actually more reasonable. Batman catches him after a meeting.
B: [observes his brushed hair and very high-quality, new trench coat] You’re sober… Congratulations?
C: Uhuh. Did you need something? I have some business elsewhere.
B: With your dealer?
C: [affronted] Wha—Who in their right bloody mind would dare call Celest that?
B: You did.
C: ….
B: Who’s Celest?
C: Oh, fuck me!
Constantine gives him an address - it’s in Milan, Lombardy (Region of Italy). He specifically instructs him to come as a civ along with Red Hood and Robin with the threat that he will erase their memories if they so much as go into detective mode.
Bruce Wayne and his two wayward children enters the teahouse and is led by the hostess to a private room. They are served with tea and light snacks that they know even Alfred would more than approve of.
A door opens - they didn’t even know it was one with the way the molding blends into each other seamlessly. And out came one of the most enchanting woman Bruce has ever seen. He’s seen his fair share of attractive females but he has never been star-struck like he should be - as if he were back to his pre-pubescent days.
M: Constantine said you’d be here.
B: [realizes that this person was Constantine’s dealer and was 100% magic] You’re his dealer?
*Jason and Damian who saw the look on their dad’s face snicker at his opening line*
M: [raises and elegant eyebrow at Bruce] And you must be his work associates?
J: Something like that, lady. I’m Jason, kid’s Damian, and the one who can’t stop staring at you is our Dad, Bruce.
*Bruce grumbles and Marinette smirks*
M: I’m Marinette. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
D: [gestures at Bruce] Pleasure is all his, Marinette.
B: [red at the ears] Their Grandfather thought them better, I swear.
M: Mhmm. I guess he didn’t teach them how to not die then?
The guys: ….
Jason gets a more potent version of the potion Constantine consumes - it’s a prescription that he has to come for every month. Damian gets a charm; ear cuffs because he does whatever her wants, a spontaneous orbital piercing is nothing. And Bruce gets Mari’s number.
(Tim also gets forwarded in his fave fashion label’s waitlist from the near thousands to the fourteenth - his first consultation coincides with Jason’s next appointment.)
AN: Some posts/fics call Mari Celestial Guardian. Idk where and when that happened - I have abandoned canon a long time ago. These are all pulled from my days in the maribat blackhole (still kinda stuck there). I basically pulled this out of my archives so they at least get the chance to see the daylight.
Addressing Brucinette: I have a whole re-written MLB plot in my archives where everything is more brutal and the miraculous aren’t actual pieces of accessories. Like there’s an initiation to the order and stuff like that. I normally don’t enjoy aging up characters in crossovers but Brucinette just works. I have a secretary AU somewhere (it’s tragic and I’m considering scrapping it if I find it). And I also have deep-rooted issues that wants me to write Good!Dad Bruce who has Mari breathing down his neck when he so much as raises his voice at his children (Muminette/Mominette is another breed scary). And those tropes where Mari sees right through Brucie? Has a second sense for the when the batkids are in/causes trouble? Love those. I WILL FIGHT FOR THIS SHIP. (Jk people are free to dislike this. I get it.)

Context:
Damian is recovering from memory loss after a mission having gone wrong. With his memories barely in tact and only remembering his family's names, Damian was placed into 24 hour surveillance and staying home until his memories returned…hopefully. While at home, Damian was encouraged to do whatever he felt comfortable in doing, drawing and painting being one of them. Out of nowhere, Damian started to remember something from a very long time ago.
Chapter 1: Momma's Lullaby | A03
“Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free,
Heaven above and the sea below,
And a little white whale on the go.”
Jason stopped half stride as he heard someone sing, ensuing him to figure out who it was.
“Baby Beluga, baby Beluga,” Jason turned a hall, muttering in disbelief when the voice came from Damian’s room
“Is the water warm, is your mama home,” He couldn’t believe it…
“With you so happy?” It really was Damian singing, the boy lost in his painting as he slowly swiped his brush across the incomplete canvas in front of him.
In the few weeks that Damian was brought to them, Jason has never heard the boy sing. Hell, he never sang to begin with. So hearing him sing, nonetheless a song that seemed so familiar to the boy, Jason knew he had to get Dick.
Damian watched as the blue paint he dabbed onto the canvas started to morph into a small rubber whale, watching as his hands morphed into small chubby ones, holding onto said whale. He watched as he threw the whale just a few inches away from himself, laughing up a storm when he watched the whale barely sink upon hitting the water
His own squeals were soon accompanied by some distant giggling, Damian feeling his entire body lighten up upon hearing the familiar laugh, feeling the need to smile as he turned to look at the person next to him, her face resting on the edge of the bathtub. Large bluebell eyes smiled at him.
“Was that fun, Dami? Was it fun?” She asked him, Damian finding himself just squealing as she pinched his cheek. “Oh you’re just so cute! Let’s get you washed up, okay?” She tucked a strand of midnight hair behind her ear before she went to scrub his hair.
“Way down yonder where the dolphins play,
Where you dive and splash all day,” She slowly rinsed the soap off, Damian watching the suds surround him.
“The waves roll in and the waves roll out,
See the water squirting out of your spout.” She brought his bath toys closer to him when Damian started to cry as he watched his beluga toy float away.
“Baby Beluga, oh baby Beluga,
Sing your little song, sing for all your friends,
We like to hear you.” She sang as she took him out of the tub and wrapped a towel around him, kissing his nose as she took him to his room.
The room was dim, only a lamp lit the room, speckling the room with tiny stars of light. She laid him on the bed and quickly put him into a soft pair of pajamas so that he would remain warm.
“When its dark and your home and fed,
Curled up snug in your water bed,” She sang as she tucked him under some blankets and laid right beside him.
“Moon is shining and the stars are out,
Good night little whale good night.” She sang, Damian feeling his eyes turn heavy, his consciousness fighting the drowsiness that enveloped his body.
“Baby Beluga, oh baby Beluga,
With tomorrow's sun, another day's begun,
You'll soon be waking.” He found himself closing his eyes.
Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free,
Heaven above and the sea below,
And a little white whale on the go.
You're just a little white whale on the go.” Damian whispered as he opened his eyes, lifting his paintbrush away from the canvas, finally leaning back to look at the woman staring back at him. Or at least, he knew the face of a woman was looking at him, but try as he may, for the life of him, he just couldn’t-
“What do you have there, Dami?” Dick asked, Damian controlling his flinching from the sudden call. “Who’s that? Someone you know?”
Damian felt something stir in chest, because the longer he tried to stare at her face, he couldn’t see her face. He could only see, he could only recognize the bright shade of bluebell that he adored to see everyday. He loved her attention. Her hugs. He loved her voice and yet… “Damian. Is everything-”
“I don’t know.” Damian answered in the quietest voice Dick had ever heard him speak since he had known the kid. “I don’t know who she is.”
“Well for someone you don’t know…she’s very pretty.”
“She was.” Damian found himself saying, feeling his mind muddle. “She was very pretty…and her voice was pretty. She’d always sing me the same lullaby while tucking me in for bed.” Damian admitted.
“She tucked you into bed? When you were younger?”
“I think…I’m not completely sure.” Damian looked at her face one last time, but like always, he could only see her eyes.
Eyes that he wished he could see again.
What he would give to be able to see her again. “But I know one thing.
I used to call her Momma.”
“Momma! Momma don’t go!” Damian yelled as Talia pulled him back, Damian watching as Momma was guided out the League’s compound, her luggage carried by two guards. “Momma!”
Damian watched as she stopped and said something to the guards. She turned around and simply smiled. “Momma?”
“Take care Dami. Grow up and find me, okay?” She smiled one last time before she turned around, Damian watched her disappear into the exit that led to the outside world he was forbidden to go into.
“MOMMA!”

You called my mom
So get this. What if at some point Marinette becomes a god of balance and is Klarion's mama and you know how the league finds out?
When the league's in a fight with him and are loosing and Doctor Faith decided he's fed up with him and says some magic words causing Klarion to stop for a moment and look at him in shock because he'd never thought Faith would stoop so low. Magic shit starts happening and then a swarm of ladybugs and black cats start to come together and take shape of a person and then you see a humanoid female with four hands, peir of antennas wearing a red, black and green kimono, ladybugs glowing and surround her like Saturn rings and a black chaos energy.
She then looks around and makes contact with faith and then she makes eye contact with Klarion and he's like 'oh shit '.

Child Of Mine

Chapter 12
First|Previous
“How did Mari talk to you? Did she know in one of the parallel time lines?” Adrien asked Alix confused. She shakes her head trying to figure out how to properly say it. “Then how?” Alix closed her eyes as she thought about the answer. Fluff, Tikki, Wayzz, and Plagg has come out and settled on her lap, Plagg moved to his previous holder’s shoulder.
“Marinette has been reaching us through the Miracle Box.” Wayzz says. “She has been practicing her Guardian connection with us before she was kidnapped. So she must have been working on the connection while she is where she is.”
“Then can we connect to her again?” Adrien asks, looking between the turtle Kwamii and Alix. Wayzz shakes his head.
“Unfortunately we lost contact with her around a year and now three months ago.” Wayzz says. Alix’s eyes dropped to her hands.
“Most of the time we talked it felt like it was just a dream. Wayzz was helping me meditate with Fluff when we did reach her. The last time I talked to her, had told me she was being treated with a mixture of a prisoner and a friend. But then suddenly she felt a pain and disappeared from my reach.” Alix says, twisting and pulling on her fingers. Adrien reached out and touched her hands, stopping her from hurting herself and give her a small smile.
“I see. Well, shall we try again? Together.” He says. Alix snapped her head up at him looking at him as if he had grown a second head. “If we can’t reach her together, then let’s go to the last place these people have been sighted.” Plagg and Tikki moved together and gave a big confident smile, agreeing with his words. Alix looked at Wayzz and Fluff seeing if they are against this, but they looked just as confident as the others.
“Alright.” Alix shifts motioning for Fluff to move and began to move the couch opening up an open space in the center of the living room to allow more meditation room. She clicked the TV off and offered a spot beside her as she placed the Miracle Box in the middle of them. Tikki and Wayzz sit on top of the box as Fluff and Plagg sit on the top of their holders’ heads. Everyone closes their eyes and focus on just Marinette.
Adrien and Alix walk out into a completely white room but has no walls keeping them in place. Adrien looks around confused about what is happening when Alix grabs his hand and leads him left of them just walking what would feel like hours. Sounds of steps can now be heard and a smell of Jasmine and snow fills the air around them. Adrien looks around confused but finds stepping stones are now underneath them. Curiously he looks forward again and squints seeing something moving around in the snow. Alix’s speeds up her walking, dragging him into a run.
“Mari!!” Alix yells, letting him go and bolts right for her. The body now closer than when they started stands up with a wide smile.
“Alix!” The red head slams her body into her girlfriend’s almost knocking them down into the snow. “God I missed you my love.” Mari hugs her tight taking in the mental smell her remembers Alix use to wear.
“You grew out your hair.” Mari states, moving her hands in the girls hair.
“Yeah, I year does that when you are more busy hunting down your girlfriend.” Alix raises a brow. Mari provides her “I’m innocent” look. “God, if you were real I would kiss you right now.”
“No please.” Adrien finally says standing there watching them. Marinette looks over letting out a gasp. “Yes, I’m here too my lady.” He gives her his famous silly smile and opened his arms for a hug. She squeezes out of her woman’s arms and run to him hugging him closely.
“How are you here too?” She murmured.
“Wayzz.” He says as if it said all. She nods then feels her physical body begin to pull.
“Merde, we don’t have time. Okay listen.” She runs through as much as she could. She gave them as much info of where she could be. Have them use Kalki to do it, and grab her. But not until she reaches them again claiming she has something important to bring back with her. Before she could say goodbye, Adrien and Alix returns back into the living room feeling exhausted and cold.
“Holy hell I’m cold now. Does that always happen?” He asks.
“No, but that does mean she is somewhere in high altitude.” Alix says, getting up and going to her look for her journal to record their meeting. Adrien wrapped a blanket around himself and walk up behind her seeing what she was doing only to catch a name.
“She’s with the League of Assassins?!”

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I went to my writing place today and had a HUGO SPRITZ because BLESSED FUCKING BE. Afterward, I treated myself to a long walk. I wanted to check out Mominette for oysters, but decided to go home and order from Westville instead (lmao).
I woke up feeling sad and defeated, but I def feel like I reclaimed this day. I didn’t watch Kamala’s concession speech. I don’t think I can right now. I’m pacing myself rn. It’s a process.
The earth is still spinning and blood is still red. Life goes on in perpetuity. I’ll be okay. We’ll be okay.
I do hope we allow this anger to fester though….
I do hope we become righteously enraged….
