As part of their annual courtship ritual, the male dove will fly in the air to perform an aerial display for the female.

Then he will sing his cooing song.

The dove is monogamous and forms strong pair bonds.

Although their courting dances aren't flamboyant, they do perform three distinctive acts when breeding season arrives.

The male will show the female several nesting sites.

But since they only use the nest for one month for each brood, it doesn’t need to last for very long.

absolutely love how early on in the Oregon Parks promo campaign everyone was under the tweets being like "alex what is this" "alex we know it's you" "what are you plotting alex" and now everyone is screaming and crying in the replies for Park Ranger Gus Burnside and asking if he's okay

he got the fandom invested in his twitter roleplay character in the span of ~a week. i'm afraid there's nobody doing it like him— anyone who thinks they can pull off a Gravity Falls revival hoax/troll/etc should quit while they're ahead, truly

House M.D. but it's when a character says the name of the episode

#house md #prince's talk tag #flashing #repitition #so as i was watching this show i noticed they'd say the episode title in the episode #so i wanted to see how many times they did it #the people on livejournal who made transcripts of the episodes are my saviors and without them this would of been so much harder to do #thank you all for your service and i hope wherever you all are you're having a great day #sometimes they would use a variation of the word like in the episode poison they would say 'poisoned' or 'poisoning'#i did not include those instances #there was an instance in 'merry little christmas' where they do play the song in the show #but since ella fitzgerald was not a character in the show i did not include it #where as in the episode 'joy to the world' the students are singing it in the concert so i did include that #i apologize for the tonal whiplash when you get to that part but it did make me laugh #one of the times kutner says 'locked in' is overshadowed by the POTW's voice over but i assure you he says it and thats why its in there #out of the main characters from the one who said the title the most to least are #House > Foreman > Wilson > Chase > Cuddy > Adams > Cameron and Taub > Kutner > Thirteen and Park #this took a bit to do lolol its probably been done already but i wanted my own #there is a chance im missing some on technicalities but idc. im fine with this #there are two more i wanna do but with a character saying another character's name but ill do that some other time #EDIT: When I was making this video I was unaware that the Pilot episode went by two names: 'Pilot' and 'Everybody Lies'#Basically everywhere I looked the first episode was only referred to by 'Pilot'#which I found weird bc i remember seeing somewhere that the last episode was paired with the first episode in terms of title #but i couldn't find hard proof so I decided to leave it out at the time #well i checked again last night and yea the pilot IS also called Everybody Lies so I updated the video #I also think it goes well with the fact that House does say 'Everybody Dies' in the finale so another reason to fix it #AND he says it without Wilson while he and Wilson say the title of the pilot sooooo yea hehehehehe

As someone who's recently been getting back into creating for fun by diving headfirst into the Legend of Zelda and Linked Universe scenes, it's been nothing short of inspiring to see so many fans come together and support each others' works this past month. The HOTD writers themselves are hardly doing anything to support that narrative, so I take this rhetoric with a grain of salt. While I think, in some way, Rhaenyra does care for Baela and Rhaena....if I had to point out a motherly figure for them that could pose as someone stepping in Laena's place, Rhaenyra would not be it.

hollow knight detail #1,437 that makes my brain whirr like an overheated laptop:

the NPC names and boss titles in hollow knight display in a way that strongly implies they are being written from the knight's perspective -- NPC titles only appear once the NPC tells you their name; boss titles are usually loose descriptors or obvious titles unless you already know them; dream boss titles change in ways reflective of what the player (and by extension the knight) has learned about them; title changes seem to be very rooted in the knight's perspective ('broken vessel' -> 'lost kin' yeah but also shit like 'millibelle' -> 'millibelle the thief') -- and hornet never introduces herself by name.

#hollow knight #hornet (hollow knight)#not art #hornet #LIKE on one hand hornet is such a core early boss fight and lore character this could be early development weirdness #maybe she had old dialogue where she did introduce herself and TC just for whatever reason didn't update her boss titles when it was cut #maybe it was an artifact of older/different sensibilities with how the game handled boss titles in general #and making the boss names more knight-POV-specific was a later change and TC just couldn't find a good moment for hornet to give her name #but didn't want to leave you not knowing who she was so they left it in #but like. hollow knight is a game with so much attention to detail and so many of the other boss titles have Implications #about how the knight sees the world around them #its hard to think of another in universe explanation for this choice than 'the knight somehow already knew hornet by name'#also side note i literally cannot find a single piece of dialogue where any other character refers to Hornet by name which is. Interesting
