I want the void to hear my takes on Star Trek: Coda

Okay 2nd book time: The Ashes of Tomorrow by James Swallow (I am unfamiliar with his work). I enjoyed this one more than the first, despite some choices made here which bum me out. Still kind of feels like the Picard show ft. those other characters rn, kind of surprised how little Voyager’s crew have shown up tbh. Like we get a lil Paris and Torres this and Tuvok is hanging around on Titan but thats it. Like did everyone fuck off with Janeway into the galactic void? Comics ass issue with mixed continuity. Anyway.

We open with Sisko (wise choice) now captain of a galaxy class and responding to a time snake attack in cardassian space, he gets a vision in the middle of it and sees ruined bajor. He kills it with a time generator strapped to a torpedo (thanks Prophets). On Bajor, Kira sees her mother who shows her the same vision and disappears, the wormhole is being fucky and has been for a few weeks so she looks up in concern.

Picard and Co show up at Starfleet HQ to give the whole time war info, Riker has more nightmares and sides with the people saying ‘we deal with the time snakes because how the fuck do we deal with time war’ Picard is dissapointed as is everyone else. He talks to Riker and Riker has picked up the villain ball so hes like ‘you cant make this choice,’ before going off to have more weird dreams. 

Picard says fuck that and recruits a ton of people including Tom Paris who is supposed to be spying on him. They plot a heist and Geordie texts Data. Spock is meditating about reunification on Vulcan when he feels someone he mind melded with going through some shit and tries to figure out who it is. Pulawski (remember her? from TNG?) texts Bev some confidential files to help with Rene’s whole aging nightmare. Garak informs a semi comatose Bashir that Dax is dead which snaps him back to lucidity. Garak seems to be in charge of cardassia which isnt the worst option, but still not good. He smuggles him to Bajor to see Sisko (Sisko is heading to Bajor quietly)

Someone tries to steal the Enterprise from spacedock so Riker shuts it down (they apparently learned from Kirk lol). He boards the ships while being a lil paranoid and unstable and discovers Paris and Torres had stolen it and Picard and co escape in the Aventine. Riker is getting hot, meanwhile Spock figures out he’s getting brain touched by Worf who is being haunted by Time ghosts (of himself, from dead timelines), and decides to help him out. Alexander has joined with Worf and the renegades and is enjoying being with his terrible dad. You deserve better kid, which I guess he had because hes federation ambassador to Qo’Nos and had a hot Klingon lady wife who works with him. 

Data and Lal watch different species get got by the Devidians on some kind of turbo range sensors while hiding in the lab Soong built Data in. A ship comes out of orbit and Data’s like ‘what the what’ and Lal says she texted Geordie their address cause they’re too disconnected and need to do something. A time snake attacks the Klingon temple planet with the time crystals. Its wounded and so crashes into normal time, but splits into thousands of little snakes and attacks. Chancellor Martok, who was leading the defense of the planet climbs out of his busted Bird of Prey and charges the horde of snakes with his crew. Like Dax he dies off screen, tho with a much more appropriate end.

Data meets with Picard and Bowers (Dax’s XO now captain) and he manages to talk Data into helping. Lal is great shes very much on team ‘lets fight the wave of apocalypse.’ good kid. They detect a ship (The Titan) and Data reactivates his cloak. Worf gets hailed and Riker is being weird and references the shadows which makes Worf thinks hes having the same dreams. He opens fire and the Worf’s malaise gets the better of him and hes slow enough to respond that he takes some licks. Data interferes, launching drones from the moon that Tholian web the Titan so they can escape. Data explicitly says ‘I did it better than them lol’ They beam out and Riker is pissed, to the point of busting open the bubble in spite of the risk to the ship. Its too late they’ve already cheesed it. And hes pissed and calls Titan’s captain the wrong rank before going down to the holodeck and being confused about his history including how many kids he got. Wow, messy.

Will we get an answer for why hes being such a prick? Will it be satisfying? Altogether liking this part. There’s some references to some great machine ressurecting Data and Lal which I guess was a prior series. I will not be doing research on that. Sounds cool or whatever. Really enjoyed Tom and Belanna being lil shits to wacky Riker, feels like something they would do. Tuvok hasnt gotten too much to do other than be profiled by Riker at any moment anything goes wrong. Which is fucked up dog. Excited for when Cap Vale and Tuvok throw him in sickbay for acting crazy. More DS9 so far which is neat too. We love the Emissary, we love based terrorist Kira Nerys (even if she has taken the cloth).

Nice that they’re incoporating stuff from the new series (like the time crystals on klingon temple planet) ((assuming that wasnt already a thing and I forgot). Nice to throw in Spock to make it extra delineated from the main canon timeline. But also, lol lmao, of course Spock is going to get involved.

so it wont be enemies per se but CERTAINLY RIVALS AT LEAST!!!!

so my PLAN is for zanemau is sort of the same as the start of canonical zanemau. aphmau and co move onto [insert road name here] and zane introduces himself to aphmau and sparks of annoyance rise. my thought is that zane moved to escape the town he was raised in hopes to for once be free of garroth's shadow

but ofc things dont work out that way for him bc it can never be that easy can it?

zane knew garroth, laurence, and dante were moving onto his street because garte has his hands in the realtor business (what the fuck is that called??? he basically either built the houses or is in charge of selling them) and zianna is a blabbermouth so she basically spilled the beans and she was like "make sure to hang out with him im so glad you two boys are moving closer together!!"

and ofc zane being zane was like "oh shit" but it is his job as head of the neighborhood watch to greet new neighbors and shit (plus itd be nice to see garroths face as he realizes that he has power over his older brother mwahaha) and he decides to also greet the new neighbors moving in across the way

because while zianna sold aphmau the house, she also knew that aphmau has no contact with her mother so for once she decided not to spill the beans and just not tell anyone that the roommates were moving into the new house

so thats how they meet cuz zane just thinks its another new, rando neighbor and not his brothers ex crush turned close friend but also potential still crush maybe girl thing and her friends. so zane is basically bodyslammed into the past and the whole thing he was trying to AVOID!!!

safe to say, zane dislikes the entire motley crew IMMENSELY

so hyjinx ensue as zane basically tries to cause chaos in their lives with aphmau giving the same energy back

i wanted the vibe to be similar to canon when it shifts but not as... weird. i cut out the whole sprinkles plot because its fucking stupid so im going to have to find another way for aphmau to kind of realize that zane isnt just some asshole. i was thinking maybe having her talking to garroth after a particularly nasty prank and then him giving the whole "zane wasnt always like this idk what happened" talk and then her just reflecting on high school

and then zane tries to pull another christmas prank on them but ends up getting caught (NOT breaking into her house and stealing her christmas tree because thats a crime) by her and her basically saying like "look dude, i invited you to my christmas party. i want to get to know you. i dont exactly want to beef with my friends brother so cant we just get along"

and at first zane is apprehensive. in high school he never had friends only either people to manipulate or people who wanted to manipulate him so ofc he doesnt know if shes lying so its a slow trusting thing for him

but ofc he realizes shes genuine and thus. friends!

and then ofc A CRUSH RUINS EVERYTHING! (in a good way)

he catches feelings first. and at this point hes adjusted to the main cast and is friends with all of them (even laurence even tho they do have beef from time to time) so hes like "is it just im happy and thankful for them or do i just genuinely love her?????"

and the growing memories of him being a tyrannical murderous dictator with thoughts of taking her off the map forever isnt helping much either

so its like this angsty push and pull of pining and having memories of each other. my plan was to have them sort of have this realization that they are in love with each other but also being petrified of one another because of their memories (well aph is terrified, zane is terrified of himself) so its like the

(off topic but aphmau has giant scars on her back from where her wings used to be. she was born with them and literally has zero fucking clue where they came from but she just accepted it as like. a thing. and when they go to llp i want a scene of her being insecure of wearing a swimsuit and showing them to him. and then he fucking!! traces her scars!! and she starts like explaining that she doesnt know where they came from!! and then zane saying smth like "irene was rumored to have scars like that" and she fucking freezes cuz shes like "oh shit" and then he goes on to say like "if someone so beautiful and as powerful as her has something similar who knows what that means for you" and then they both turn into a blushing mess aughuhauga)

what was your favorite part, 1 or 2?

Honestly I loved both parts, but I’d say I loved part two just a little bit more for the time that James wasn’t under the curse anymore and LOVED Cordelia

which scene in the book was your favorite?

EVERY scene that had Matthew and James being wholesome parabatai in it!!! my favourite chapter in this book was Blue Ruin, the one after Grace takes the bracelet back from James  (aside from the whispering room ofc).

what scene (or scenes) made you cry the most?

ok ngl i didnt spend much of this book crying, but the only scene that actually made me tear up was when james was dying and matthew could feel it and jesse (WHO I FUCKING LOVED MORE THAN I THOUGHT I WOULD) gave him his last breath :(((((

what scenes were unsatisfactory?

there were not enough Christopher scenes (but to be fair, even if the entire book was just Christopher it still wouldnt be enough for me)

what bored you?

this wasn’t boring, but the whole charles/alastair plot line didn’t have me very invested. I did love the alastair/ cordelia scenes tho, so it was just charles that was the problem

also no offense to james bc he was my first actual fictional crush after reading TMH/NBS but like whenever he talked about being in grace i would literally zone out lol the bracelet curse makes him so boring but whenever he isnt in the curse/ is with someone who is NOT grace i just!! love him!!

what disappointed you?

cassie honestly had me kinda shipping matthew/cordelia for a solid FIVE SECONDS there when he stepped in to dance with her after james left her standing there, but that was one of the only scenes that made me feel like they had natural chemistry (along with the scene where he drops her off at her house). I felt like the during the rest of their interactions in the book, cordelia was kind of uncomfortable, which made me really sad because even tho she has every right to feel that way, i felt bad for matthew. I kind of want him to fall for someone else completely and for it to be reciprocated. also, i just really want for matthew and cordelia to become good friends because i feel like they could have such great natural chemistry if matthew didnt love her.

what are some things that were really unexpected?

ok there’s quite a few things here so bear w me babes:

- James genuinely loving cordelia from the start. I wasn’t expecting him to naturally feel nothing for grace at all, so i was expecting a slow burn jordelia, but finding out that he actually loves her makes me so happy but the end where cordelia thinks he was just pretending breaks my heart :(((

-matthew liking cordelia lol definitely was not expecting another parabatai love triangle but i hope it doesnt last. i do think it adds to the plot and i love it, it just hurts to see matthew so emo :(((

-I was expecting to like cordelia as a character, but i ended up LOVING her so fucking much???? she’s so three dimensional to me, and it’s interesting to see how her personality adapts around different characters as people adapt around different social circles irl

-liking jesse as much as i did

-ok so james’ entire character was a surprise to me. it’s so fascinating to see how the bracelet actually affected his personality.If you recall him in The Midnight Heir from TBC. he’s like an entirely different person. i still loved him in TMH but i went into CHOG thinking that if he was gonna be like that the entire time i’d probably get over him really quickly. i was pleasantly surprised by how much i ended up loving him even more tho

-i didn’t expect oliver hayward to die and im going to stay emo about it

- Christopher is so much more clear headed than he was made out to be prior?? like there were so many scenes where he was fully there and when he defended anna to alastair i just kfdsnfkld i love him

are there characters that you didn’t like before that you like now?

yikes umm... Alastair, maybe? he’s somewhat okay to me now, I dont dislike him as much as I used to. ooh and Hypatia Vex. the only scene i remember liking her in QOAAD was when she helped out kit, ty and dru (me, going a whole TSC post without somehow mentioning kit? not possible)

are there characters that you liked before that you don’t like now?

I started CHOG ready to give Grace the benefit of the doubt, and I was surprised by how timid and shy she seemed at the start, but it was interesting to see how it was all an act and how she doesn’t have an actual personality yet. one could argue that she actually does love james, but i doubt it at this point. i dont hate her yet, even tho she IS fucking up james’ life, but she’s on thin fucking ice.

who was your favorite new character?

does new character mean completely new or just never been in a novella new? because for the first, it would be Cordelia (i LOVE her sm!!) and other wise it would be james, matthew and co. also!!! jesse!!

what places in the book would you like to visit?

that hell dimension sounds pretty lit ngl

did you like the ending?

ok so. we KNOW that jordelia is gonna be endgame. cassandra clare always takes the hardest path to get there, but when has she not delivered? it’s just a matter of waiting. so, yes, i did like the ending in sense of the plot because it was a great twist, but i also feel really bad for all of them even tho ik they’re eventually gonna be together :(((

what did you think of the epilogue?

i wasnt surprised, since we alr know that Tatiana is shady asf, but i just really wanna know how she partnered up with a GREATER demon like lol wtf. again, im really happy in terms of plot with this

what are your thoughts on the engagement?

i feel so. fucking bad. for cordelia. and james too, even tho he’s under the bracelet’s curse so he doesnt even KNOW he’s being manipulated. but i love how even through the curse, james still loves cordelia in his own way.

what did you want to see that didn’t happen?

matthew getting therapy periodt

umm honestly i just want more “merry thieves” content like i just love. all of them.

what do you wish had been resolved that wasn’t?

i really want matthew to tell james or cordelia what happened because i just need him to be loved and supported lol i want to give him a hug. 

what is your favorite pairing as of now?

jordelia!!! and lucie and jesse are kind cute rn, and i like them if theyre gonna be pining after eachother but i feel like if they actually get together i wont like the relationship as much.

which characters would you like to see more of in the next book?

ok i know that jesse is still very much a conscious character despite being dead but like,,, i want him to be the way he was before and also i want him to come back to life

ummm barbara? i cant really say much on this yet bc its still only the first book and when has the first book ever ended up with anyone being happy.

THE ONE WHERE GRACE PUTS THE BRACELET BACK ON JAMES. i mean obv there was no way he was completely done with grace, but i literally got so sad at that part like why HIM of all people smfh let him be happy

what are some theories you have for chain of iron?

- not necessarily for COI but i think matthew is gonna get exiled and turned into made into a mundane

- the bracelet will break (?)

- jesse will come back to life (like actual life) at the end of the book

-grace is gonna do something to help the main characters, making it hard for us to hate her.

Natsume yuujinchou  (a teenage orphan who sees spirits/monsters sets out to free the spirits who were bound in magical contract by his grandmother after he inherits a powerful book, aided primarily by a spirit who appears as an exasperated fat cat (who is just as fun as he sounds). Titular character is like my Fave boy in the whole world, he’s so kind and soft despite all the hardships he’s faced, the series has very gentle pacing/character development, and each episode is a carefully crafted lil story that have often moved me to tears, chuckles, or outright chinhands of fondness as u watch natsume slowly find a home in the world and amongst the humans &spirits around him. big focus on friendships, there’s like no romance with any of the main characters, lots of cool different creatures (most of whom arent all that scary once u get to know them), its just literally everything i could ever dream for in a show and it exists! <3)

Leverage (team of modern day robin hoods ruin rich peoples’ lives via  delightfully crafted spy cons to give back to the regular folks the rich people hurt. Extremely good, strong found family vibes, and v cathartic)

Brooklyn 99 (follows diverse cast of character who make up a NY precinct. Hilarious, immensely wholesome & groundbreaking, & probs the most lighthearted crime show besides like psych tbh)

Blackspot/Zone Blanche (spoopy french/belgium crime series set in a small village way out in the mountains surrounded by misty, mysterious and murdery woods. eerie and atmospheric, but also like one of my fave characters (everyone calls him teddy bear) keeps a pet guinea pig at work, so it’s not entirely grim and bleak)

Longmire (a modern western crime drama centering around the titular sheriff and others in their small town wyoming county, well written and lot of chracter development revealed alongside some really good case mysteries bc i love trying to figure out whodunits apparently based on a book series well adored by dads btw)

Eliot maybe? like Hardison is baby ofc, but i relate to elliot a ton (i think if i was on a team i would want to be the hitter tbh?) and love the subversion of so many action hero tropes that he is, also endlessly amused by how very put upon he is despite all his rad/random skills

(B99) Besides Jake/Amy and Holt/Kevin (bc oviously theyre gr8) uh.. i know it was a long time ago and didnt last very long, but i thought rosa and marcus were really sweet? it brought another layer out to her character, even when they broke up that helped rosa starting to show emotional vulnerability and all, even tho it ended it was still just, idk, i liked them.

how did you become interested in 3? (b99) i think it was just on netflix way back in season 1 and i started watching it, loved it and never stopped? i think that might have even been before it got rlly popular lol

who is your favorite actor in 4? (blackspot) i dont rlly know any of these french peeps? but teddybear’s one of my fave characters, so hopefully the person who plays him is also cool, in which case hubert delattre (if not, Suliane Brahim does a v good job as the lead)

(natsume yujinchou, leverage or longmire) um... real torn between natsume and leverage here, they’re both such lovely gems that do found family so, so well.. leverage is a team of modern robin hood-esque spies with brilliant writing and exciting heists and multiple delightful plot twists every episode and great character building and so much catharticism in ruining evil rich peoples lives.

but natsume’s title character is one of my very favorite characters ever, hes been through so much but he becomes the most kindest and thoughtful boy ever, and its so, so soft and gentle in its development of characters and their slow build of getting to know each other and becoming friends, and the interactions with the paranormal world are very rarely entirely malicious/scary, and there’s pretty well no romance, at least like no romance for plot/with the main characters anyways, and there’s lots of female characters who have important roles but arent sexualized/killed off for man feels/exist for romo (which sadly cannot be said about a lot of media, especially manga/anime tbh, even leverage does not win entirely on that front).. its defintiely my favorite anime ever (i dont watch loads, but literally no other one can ever come close to topping its perfection),

i guess tho, leverage is over, and natsume is still technically ongoing, so i guess for that then i have to go with natsume?

(b99 or blackspot) oh god... the cheery upbeat department at the 99 meet up with a grim, misty tiny mountain forest village with bleak day to day life, solving crimes amidst small town paranoia and weird maybe cult-related conspiracies and honestbhly something/s paranormal and menacing going on in the woods?? i just... cant see any of the characters even interacting lol, im just picturing jake’s confused befuddled face when he hears something weird but like x 10000

anyways i love how gon is increasingly approaching situations with his Plucky Shounen Protag Attitude in full swing, and he pretty much gets shot down every time. BUT his general determination to see killua bc killuas his FRIEND and hes gonna RESCUE HIM is still a good and pure motivating force 

like here, when hes climbing over the wall and hes like whatever i dont wanna have to deal w/being tested thats bullshit, i wanna see killua, my intentions are pure, im gonna try my luck with the dog....i was like ok yeah he’ll get over and like tame or defeat the dog and the guard will be suitably impressed bc nobodys ever done That before, and then gon will continue on to get killua 

but NOPE instead the guard calls him down and explains that gon Will Die if he tries that, and then the guard will die too for letting that happen. and gon is like oh shit my actions have consequences for people other than me, wow. 

and THEN the guard takes them in to meet the dog. and hot DAMN that is a scary creature. not even really a dog tbh. they did an excellent job making the dog Legit Scary and not just like, big and flashy looking....those eyes are so soulless, and the proportions are freaky 

and the guard says exactly what i was thinking - that gon would use his Country Boy Woodland Creature Skills to workaround the dog....but then the subversion - this creature is NOTHING like the woodland critters gon is probably used to dealing with. theres no way gon stood a chance here. the guard just saved him from a really unfortunate death

More random thoughts for my new ocs Ted and Lee aka "that adorable eldritch abomination and his equally adorable husband"

* Possibly he got the name Ted from people calling him The Eternal Darkness? Like "oh gosh no that doesnt sound very friendly" *rebrands self*

* also im not sure if i should leave his husband as lee or maybe leonard or leopold? Can lee be short for leonard?

* I'm thinking Ted looks like a short round cuddly man with long curly hair and a beaming smile that just sometimes looks slightly too wide and fangy. He's like the most unimposing huggable dude in the world and probably wears cute lil polkadot bowties or something, and he just also happens to be an otherworldly doom monster. I'm thinking Lee is also a huggable dude but more built like a rugby player instead of all soft angles. And probably has short hair with a stylish salt and pepper look, starting to go grey but looking fabulous while he does it. Ted thinks he looks super handsome when he wears his reading glasses.

* Ted doesnt realise he isnt human, its partly because incarnating as a mortal means he doesnt have enough brain space for his full millenia of memories and partly because he feels self concious and wishes he could become a real human. Like..he had to discard some memories but it was his depression that caused "memory of not being human" to be one of the memories he picked. Lee figured it out pretty quickly though because Ted isnt exactly great at his human impression, alas! But he's trying to just support his husband towards remembering naturally, cos he can see the situation is traumatic for him and doesnt want to cause a panic attack by telling him all at once. Just tries to let Ted know that he loves him very deeply and like.. "I dont just love your face, i love YOU". And help support him to show more of himself in situations where his anxiety gets in the way, like more normal human situations to lead up to maybe the whole inhuman situation. I'll help you feel okay with wearing a swimsuit at the beach -> i'll help you feel okay with manifesting as a mind bending sentient black hole with a thousand eyes. Its tricky tho because Lee also feels anxious wearing a swimsuit in public! I'm gonna throw a little bit of personal relateableness in here and say he has the problem of bad acne and peeling skin on his upper back and shoulders cos thats a thing that runs in my family and im very self concious about it yeah. But these two depressed dudes can help fight the depression together!!

* And also sometimes they fight the occasional other eldritch beasties that fall through the void and try and take Ted's territory. Ranging from "aww stop hogging all the humans i wanna eat them" to "but you have a pet human why cant i take one of my own?" *grabs a handful of screaming dudes* Sometimes they can be reasoned with and end up joining the cul de sac as a new mildly ominous neighbour, and sometimes its just Lee beating up a giant moon spider with a broom while Ted clings desperately to him for dear life and has no clue whats going on. "HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT OUR PLEASANT EVENING WATCHING EMMERDALE!! TED SLAVED OVER A HOT STOVE TO MAKE THAT BUNDT CAKE!!"

* Ted's hobbies include learning to bake and also collecting model trains. It might be because he subconciously remembers drifting outside this dimension and looking in on the tiny humans but being too shy to talk to them? So he likes little tiny decorative things! And its so fun putting them together with his husband~! Lee is very supportive of Ted's hobbies and tries to help out with any heavy lifting cos he's not too good at the fiddly bits. He did a bunch of diy to renovate their old garage into a nice craft studio for Ted's miniatures! (They dont need a car anymore when Ted can just teleport) Ted actually isnt super good at cooking yet but he's excited to learn. He wanted to be able to bake Lee cakes cos Lee has a big sweet tooth and it felt more romantic to try and make his own stuff someday instead of jusy buying it. Though he teleports all over the planet to buy the best luxury cakes so OF COURSE he's gonna feel self concious that his own cooking doesnt live up to those standards yet! Lee still cherishes everything thoigh, and insists on finishing the whole cake even if its burnt. Ted is like 'nooo let me rewind time to undo the cellular entropy' and Lee is like 'ITS ALREADY PERFECT SHUT UP' *gives crumby kisses*

* so basically they are just incredibly ordinary middle aged husbands with incredibly ordinary middle aged husband lives, and just occasionally some sort of cosmic monster war will ruin their lawn. THOSE GARDEN GNOMES REALLY TIED THE WHOLE LOOK TOGETHER, DAMMIT!! *grabs broom* I think Lee has probably become a cryptid amoing the cryptids lol. Somewhere in the distant cosmos theyre telling each other legends of this terrifying cuddleman...

Okay so its taken me a while to write this because im still not happy with this episode but heres thoughts for The Bells.

So I liked the before bit with the different voices playing while Dany was on screen, that was well done and helped add a not of insight to her character.

Varys was so soft with the child and for some reason I didn't expect that? But his conversation with Jon didn't surprise me, I've been conflicted about Varys but I think he is a good man with good intentions even if he does bad things.

I was not prepared for seeing Dany like that but damn that was tense, I won't forget that half smile when Tyrion said that Sansa trusts him. Dany needs to stop taking this out on Tyrion, he really is trying his best.

I knew Varys was going to die and I did suspect it would be by Dany, I'm still kinda sad to see him go which is surprising. He deserved a better goodbye than that from Tyrion but Dany was watching so I understand why he did that. Not gonna lie that was pretty asthetic to see Drogon shadowed behind Dany like that.

I'm glad Dany acknowledged Missandei and Greyworm's relationship and that she offered him Missandei's last possetion. I don't think Jon meant what he said about loving her, I think he was just saying what he thought would make her happy, like he has throughout this season. Ano she says let it be fear but I can't accept that she planned on killing innocents and she was willing to destory everyone.

Tyrion only wants to save people and it hurts me to see him begging for other poeple's lives, I think it was during this scene that Dany and Greyworm make an agreement to ignore the bells. Neither of them care about Tyrions pleas and they are both greiving Missandei so they are wanting revenge.

I am surprised that Tyrion trusted Davos enough to ask him to help him but Davos is a good man and Tyrion must know this.

I love Arya and The Hound just showing up and stating exactly what they plan on doing and just walking right by. Best duo on that show and you can't change my mind.

One of the things this episode got right was Tyrion and Jaime and damn that got me, I've always loved their dynamic and their goodbye was so heartfelt and emotional. They truely care about each other and Tyrion trusts him but damn ano Tyrion was done bad things but he is willing to give up his life for others and that says so much about him. The whole scene was great apart from Jaime saying he doesnt care about innocents, thats not Jaime Lannister and I'm so angry about D&D destroying his character arc and making him run back to Cersei.

Dany finally destroyed the Scorpions like she should have in the last episode, go her. I really thought the Golden Company would play a bigger role than that okay i guess. Also I thought theres was a lot less Dothraki than that after the BoW?

"The red keep had never fallen" you sure about that Cersei?

I knew that the Lannister Army would surrender but I didnt expect it to be that quickly.

Okay so the fuck happened with Dany? I get that she snapped but the was heading to the Red Keep then suddenly changed and started killing innocents? Nah mate I don't buy it, Dany would never do that. If she burned the Red Keep and took some innocents down with Cersei I'd understand that but not this. The first people she goes for isn't even the soilders but innocents who are just trying to get out of the way. No I don't agree with this at all and D&D ruined her just for shock value. Also if Cersei didn't stay and watch Dany would've gave her tones of time to escape so whats the point in Dany buying Cersei more time?

I didn't expect Greyworm to do that.. Ano he's greiving but Missandei would never have wanted that an surely he knows that.

Well at least Jon has been brought to his senses and realised he cant just blindly follow Dany. It took a genoside for him to see that tho.

Jaime and Euron fighting wasn't what I was wanting either, I really wanted Yara to be the one that killed him but it was still a decent fight scene I suppose. Euron really is on messed up fucker, hes dying and all he says is he killed Jaime?

Arya and The Hound. I cant. He gave her permission to live, he cares about her so much and wants her to live, to do better than him. He saved her because she wasn't going to save herself. And she realises this and THANKS HIM. God I love these two so much and she honestly needed him to say to her that she was allowed to let go of her hate and want something more.

Cersei just sneaking by The Hound will never not be funny. It was like trying to walk by two of your friends when they're fighting without getting dragged into it.

Cleganebowl finally happened and man The Mountain is a hideous fucker. That was never a fair fight but Sandor fought so well but it wasnt nice to watch The Mountain poke his eyes out. He died in fire, I'm not happy about that. I knew he was gonna die but I kinda hoped he wouldn't. I'm really gonna miss him cos he was one of my favourite characters but at least he done what he wanted to do.

I refused to believe that Jaime went back to save Cersei after all the shit she put him though. Also "you're hurt" and "you're bleeding" Seriously? You just sent a fucking assassion to kill him a few episodes ago so why do you care now if he's hurt.

I hate seeing Arya so scared and watching her trying to save people just for them to die hurt me. I don't understand people who say she has no feelings, this season alone has gave us more scenes of her showing feeling than any other. Also the crossover between her and The Hound was so well done, it shows how alike the characters. The amount of times I was scared she died was fucking annoying, if D&D killed her off I honestly think I'd kill them off (although depending on how the last episode goes I might anyways).

Im not accepting that as Jaime and Cerseis death. There was no closure about Cersei, she needed to be killed by someone who had history with her like one of the Lannister brothers or Sansa. It was too peaceful and comforting for her to die.

My poor girl.. Just leave her the fuck alone she's been though enough and seeing her like that killed me. She better be riding to Gendry and accepting his proposal or I will not be happy. She can live now, The Hound has given her the chance to so she better not waste it by continuing to push people away but I can't see that being the case.

So overall I'm not too happy with that episode, they've ruined some of my favourite characters and have put this in a direction I don't like, I guess we shall see how the last episode goes but I'm not too hopeful.

ever since i finished tower of dawn i’ve been wanting to write down my thoughts about it so here goes nothing lmao feel free to ignore this 

ok so tod started off pretty nicely sjm laid out the southern continent very descriptively and i was thoroughly invested bc well i was totally excited to read tod from the start and when i finally got my hands on it i was ready but not ready lol my emotions about it are just all over the place basically 

anyways i really enjoyed the aspects of the southern continent and the history of it the story of the khagans and how they are chosen was interesting the whole khagan gets to choose which child he/she wants as his/her heir was smth i got truly interested in bc its always the first born child who gets to take the crown or w/e so that was a nice change and the siblings that were introduced in tod were all dissimilar they all had such strengths to be heirs since they all specialized/lead different things like hasar had armadas and lead them sartaq had his aerial army kashin was a solider and controlled the armies on land arghun had his network of spies like i enjoyed that they all were individually so powerful i guess like thru each chapter you’d think the khagan would choose a different sibling but i was really happy that sartaq was chosen tho i did kinda feel like he would end up being heir like it became a bit obvious bc he seemed to be the one who took a stand and was like imma leave if you dont help aelin and co. 

ok lets move onto yrene towers at first i didnt know how to feel about her only bc we didnt get into her character as much yet but when she went to see chaol and nesryn for the first time i was literally laughing also idk why but the dynamic between her chaol in that first meeting made just go yup they gonna fall in love im a sucker for haters to lovers trope ok she literally despised him for a good few chapters lol yrene is freaking amazing and so badass her story was smth i really enjoyed i was really interested in her powers and all about the healers she wanted to make a difference and help her ppl and she got her wish in the end what was really cool about her was that she taught young ppl self defense even tho she knew not so much she wanted to give those girls a change to fight back and when the torre was attacked she knew how frightened that made them and made chaol come teach bc he’d be a good distraction from all the horrors i just really loved the way her mind works she was invested in the art of healing so thoroughly and yrene never backed down she was so determined to find answers like i loved her so much she was amazing slm may have faults but the way she writes female characters is really empowering LISTEN I NEED TO TALK ABOUT HOW YRENE PUSHED HASAR INTO THE WATER i legit started laughing so hard like i needed that it was so good yrene is everything if you dont want to read this book bc of chaol read for yrene ok that’s all im going to say yrene was wonderful 

chaol westfall my first thought about him was ‘my baby i hope you heal and get to fight again’ like reading about how much he didnt like it in his chair was really sad i mean i get it chaol was always really determined and he like being ready to fight and then he lost movement in his legs and his world turned upside down like when yrene was healing him and he was feeling all the darkness and remembering what his father did to him when i read that his father literally pushed/threw him out of the house made me tear up chaol hit his head hard and the son of a bitch father didnt even let chaol’s mother come to him and terrin saw and chaol felt guilty for leaving him i just was so hurt reading that and also few guards helped him leave anielle and his damn father banished them to the mountains like i hated chaol’s father and now i just cant the darkness chaol had in him was so much did he hate himself? i think so but he was so angry and things were haunting him it just made my heart hurt i loved tower of dawn bc we got to see everything about chaol what he felt what he realized it was really good throughout he kept thinking about dorian and always was so loyal to him i love it when they reunite i need sjm to have them hug for a good hour or more tbh like its needed what also made my heart shatter was what he felt for aelin in his darkness you can see how he loved her and his hate for her too like i dont know how to explain it it made me feel idk his darkness was terrible and at some parts i had to put the book down to stop feeling too much idk chaol has gone through so much and it was nice to see what he felt he conquered his darkness and realized and accepted himself his journey was rough but he found himself i was so excited to read this book only bc of him he has always been one of my fav book characters and this made me love him so much more 

CHAROENE???? i dont know chaol and yrene’s shipname but imma tell you i love them together their dynamic was wonderful they slowly became friends and trusted one another they had to somewhat quickly open up to one another bc it was the only way chaol was going to heal physically and emotionally i enjoyed seeing how they developed their relationship it was nice chaol deserved to love someone who cared for him so much my favorite part was when they got into a fight and yrene was walking away and chaol wanted to go after so he willed himself to walk ever so slightly and as he was somewhat getting closer to yrene she began teasing him and moving away to make him walk more it was so cute i liked their relationship a lot they both felt equally comfortable to talk to one another and it was like a balance you know what actually my fav part was their day out in the city when they just rode horses and yrene was healing ppl it was sweet and calm and when they went out to eat just the two of them with no agenda they both deserved smth like that i loved it ik most ppl are going to say sjm wanted to just pair everyone off with a love interest but i love these two it was unexpected esp the fact that they are linked to each other and they’re married!! but i love it im a sucker for that bond stuff ok this relationship made me love tod so much 

nesryn faliq when she was first introduced in queen of shadows i was 50/50 on how i felt about her like i liked her but also somewhat didnt but let me tell you tod made me love her chaol was an idiot for using her as he did and she realized it and it seemed she was ok with it but i loved that she got to have her adventure i loved that she got to return to home and see her family she got to explore the lands of antica with sartaq and kadara what made me like her more was that she was didnt let opportunities pass her by she decided to go with sartaq and find her adventure on her own tho i did sort of predict that her and sartaq were going to become a thing after their little flight on kadara in the beginning idk it just seemed like they would be a thing which they did but i liked it she deserved someone like sartaq there was a lot of mutual respect in their relationship which i admired i loved that thru nesryn we got to learn more about antica and the history and everything like its her home and we got to see what she felt and loved about it that was my favorite thing i also loved that she got her own ruk!! AND NESRYN CAN SING that was so amazing like it adds so much more to her i love her 

a few other things one FUCKING MAEVE IS A VALG QUEEN I HATE HER like that made me so mad and now i want to know how everyone will react to this and what they will do i hope aelin NO ROWAN RIPS HER TO SHREDS another thing lysandra and falkan being her uncle was amazing i loved that we got to learn somewhat as to how lysandra got her powers butterfly the horse made this book a million times better again yrene pushing hasar into the water was hilarious hasar deserved it lmao i really wished someone did smth like to arghun kadara deserves appreciation for being an awesome ruk when she got trapped in the spiderweb i was a wreck also again MAEVE IS A VALG QUEEN what on earth and duva being possessed by valg and throwing her younger sister off a balcony i cried and duva was pregnant that was just so sad im so happy that yrene saved her life im happy that one else died i mean chaol came close obviously again and yrene and him are now linked which is cool but also like terribly dangerous i want to see what sjm is going to do with that the healers were so cool i loved reading about the torre and the origins and everything i hope we get to see more about them yrene is bringing hundreds of them with her so it could be a possibility there was just so much going on in this book lmao

i know i just hit the surface with a lot of this but i really wanted to get my view on the three mains out chaol yrene and nesryn are amazing and you know what i loved that this book was about them finding out where they fit into this war thats booming chaol was uncertain and felt he had nothing to offer bc he was injured but realized that the chair wasnt limiting him but he himself was nesryn found that she can be her own adventure she found that her home country was her place yrene discovered that her powers could save people who are possessed by the valg and that was epic i loved that this book was more about all these characters discovering who they are rather than anything else i loved it so much i was so excited for it and it didnt disappoint me

Im Back.

Boy, how time flies fast when you’re busy keeping things feel right. I mean, they’re supposed to be. I’m going to make this update as quick as i can and as precise as i can, bet i cant do both tho lmao.

It has been approximately 3 weeks since Rock Bottom (i guess it’s what you call it? Well, close.) and things has been quite, nice.

The month of July has really been a journey of what felt like forever. Today is the 12th of the month and i have come to the point where i realised that the mind is the only thing that keeps us from doing or achieveing something that we want. And this applies to a couple of situations:

I learned how to do a buck tuck.

This is one of the few things i achieved as i underwent through a “therapaeutic healing” after the incident. I surrounded myself with the few people that im friends with in our Pep Squad and fortunately my friend Dapitanon, P. also had a common friend which made our days more progressive. Just the act of cheering for each other to do one’s best really lifts everyone’s morale.

“It’s really all in the mind.”

We ARE physically capable of doing things but our mind seems to think that there’s an invisible obstacle that prevents us from pursuing what we want to achieve. I realise this as we were practicing for a back tuck, which i proudly achieved (with a spotter pa hehe). But that achievement was already some proof that if i can have control over my body, i can do all things if i just believe just enough to do it right. Heck, I think I’ll attach my tuck video somewhere on here.

1st of July.

We went to a dog cafe.

Idk what’s with me but i really like to do something special at least once a month with him and WITHOUT telling him. After all, I can’t just let myself be carried away with the emotions that lead me almost to the verge of thinking it was over, right? So despite our awkwardness and difference of treatment (slight), I still picked him up (with miraculously good timing too) with our Navara and was able to use it for the whole day before returning it back to my Granddad’s. Did i mention he got car sick? It was the cutest. (Am i weird for saying that? Doesn’t matter tho lmao) i thought of going to the dog cafe cause i was thinking, “Hey dogs can like help with your mental and emotional health right? So why the frick not.” Im surely going to post a little GIF here somewhere on how cute the doggos were. And when i tell you, dogs CAN bring the purest out of anyone. We literally were like talking to babies man and boy the dogs were HUUGE, only the pugs were like “hey hooman u can luv me unlyk diz oder bitchez” haha. But if ever things do go well for us in the future, we are DEFINITELY going to get a golden retriever man. It’s my dream!

Anyways, we also got to watch our first movie as “barkada pero gusto ang isat isa” or BPGAII, it was Toy Story 4. And bitch, dont get me started on how we were wondering if it was a child’s movie or not coz boi, we did NOT like the jump scares at ALL. But still, me being an emotional, soft potato, it still made me cry in the end. The meaning behind was great it was all about taking the risk, which was kind fitting? For him at least hekhek. Basically Woody chose to be with his hoe, Bo, for Buzz, his bro. But this aint no movie review so, *boop.

I gave him my skin care?

Ok tbh this was so random right. He realised my skin was glowing better (coz bitch, we aint lettin no sadness ruin this skin ya feel?) so he asked what was i using cos he was contemplating on his gorgeous face that he was getting ugly now. (The audacity, am i right?? Lol) so i CLEARLY (no pun intended) put into the effort of giving him some travel bottles and put in some samples of what moisturiser and micellar water i was using right, and i guess it worked out well? I also got to drive it TO him still. But the good side of this was i was able to be with my Granddad and spend some time together as his driver hihi.

LADY DRIVER.

So I’m getting good at this driving thing right, as driving from Malaybalay to Cagayan, Davao to Tagum and vice versa, Tagum to Maco and back. So i might as well be good at city driving and yall cant tell me otherwise lol,

(SIDENOTE:except for the fact i got stopped by the Yellow Ranger in Ecoland coz i was at the left lane at a traffic light and my mom told me to go straight WHICH WAS WRONG I GUESS THATS A THING RIGHT, so i was almost charged 1500 pesoses. But thank Heezuz i was with my mom and she was able to talk through the officer but sadly we had to name drop my Granddad since he was a known regional director at LTO before. Sorry Pops, i swear it’ll be the first and last time.)

Back to real time, i helped him with his errands and was really lucky with the timing coz my Dad went off for a trip and my mom was left with his car. So yup, got the chance to borrow it for half of the day and drove all the way to Maa to get a keyboard his friend is letting him use for the mean time, her name is Jen and she’s the sweetest. (No backstory will be dropped for privacy). Aight, so we drove back to their house at Magallanes but didn’t have enough time to say hi to his folks coz it was noon and they were on siyestas, right. I still regret why i didnt like fake-pee or something tho. HahahahahahahDONTJUDGE. We ate for some late lunch at SML and felt korek coz before we joke about “asa ta nag park?” And now we get to be in the situation haha. It’s funny coz just when i thought things were detoriating between us, the world just chooses to keep things tight and close and say something like “oh, u guys are having an emotional conflict and struggle about ur relationship? Here are things that only REAL couples do and i hope u enjoy em!!” Dumbass. Jokes aside, I drove him home and goodbyes are still awkward, but i was starting to understand the type of ‘low-key’ he means.

Usapang Gym.

Oh wow it’s already the fifth point. If you manage to read this far, congrats! You get nothing but to keep on reading this rollercoaster wreck lmao. I wasn’t expecting he would pay the whole month at our gym and expects me to come with him. And it came to me: i kept on thinking that i should ask for assurance but in reality, he really does mean what he said about just being “me”. Things were different but things also got better. It’s like losing some and gaining some right? Like a body excrcising, losing weight, gaining muscle, idk its a weak analogy but its close enough for yall to understand. It’s our first week today, (it’s Friday) i hope i could keep up tho haha. I guess I’ll keep progress updated? Idkidkidk. Also, i got to mention thats he is VAIN af. Idk if its a good thing or just a tragedy waiting to happen haha. I also became his coach, (oha san kapa haha), he told me he wanted help with increasing his verticle as he would help me with abdominals. So i bought sets of ankle weights only to find out the first one didnt suit him so i had to buy another set. AND IT WAS HALF THE PRICE I BOUGHT THE FIRST SET AND IT WAS BETTER. Prices will be disclosed. (250) So i like, i do my own workout right and he suddenly shows his hot-headed side of things coz he was upset he had to go home early coz there was this no-towel-no-workout policy at my gym so we had to cut our day short.

In times like these, my mind just goes to places to different situations. All the what-ifs start filling up my mind on how he could react to other situations that would cause a similar effect on what his character was showing right. But in the end, i still give kudos to myself coz im able to keep up and cope with how quick his personality changes sometimes. And sometimes, im the one with a crack on the head lmao. Well, most of the time.

TAKE AWAYS.

Fast forward to this very moment, its 11:30 in the evening and im recalling all of this on a positive note. Today was an addition to a great day we had as a rest day from gym. We watched Spiderman: Far From Home and i guess its now my current favorite and HAD to watch it twice.

Speaking of Twice, bruh i want to do a dance cover so bad of #Fancy or #YesOrYes coz i been itching and the choreo is sooo goood! Not to mention Twice was in Manila last 29th of June. *sighs in broke* but i cant say it was the best concert from them coz there were complications like Jungyeon had a sty and was wearing an eye patch the whole concert, Dahyun got sick after along with Mina who wont be attending the 2019 Twicelights Worldtour because she gets anxiety attacks and feels insecure about performing on stage suddenly. I mean i know you got no idea what im talking about but its just sad to think of the fact that even someone so adored by many people, someone who has great physical, social and emotional support, can still feel the lack of these mentally. And if you’re one of those people who feels anxious about anything? I hope you get well soon and i hope you find the true meaning of your purpose in this simulation, because you are not alone. x

In addition to almost wrapping this up, i also treated myself again something from Adidas (coz again, bitch, if no man gon treat me i gon treat myself! HAHA!) which i later on realise i now own 3 bags from there and thinking to get a fourth one....someone help me¿ i also have to mention i already treated myself about a week ago (🎶) by waxing my own axillae, grooming my own brows, a gorgeous lippie from Beauty Cottage called Elegant Impressionist shade #9 Byzantine for half its original price haha, nothing beats fishing me through a sale. Speaking of treat, my Dad gave me my first pair of Tigers man and i cant help but tell yall its the same pair that the He wanted and it totally pissed him off that i got the pair he wanted first so bad and now he doesn’t know what to do coz he’s afraid if we have the same pair we might wear it at the same time and it would be cringy and weird (now for normal people that would sound cute right, matching kicks and all. But no. Not in this lifetime.), since im just blabbering of how im spoiling myself might as well end it here folks.

Guess I’ll keep you updated on how stuff might go on from now since class is fast approaching. Tomorrow I guess I’ll be attending a send-off party for our friend she’s going to the U.S soon. Oh, did i mention the re-run for Endgame is out? 🤔
