So the big secret about Mae is that she's the astronaut who survived? The biggest clues are her very modern clothing and to me, I think she just runs very different compared to the other humans. The telescope is likely her statue of liberty scene. A little dismayed because I was hoping they'd do a world solely on the apes first but I get it, what else are they gonna do, just another ape war?
What I'm really interested in is if she's immune to the virus or is it now slowly affecting her throughout the movie?
EDIT: Another clue pointed out to me is that it looks like everyone else has matted hair except for her.
#kingdom of the planet of the apes#i mean i hope i'm wrong#but the only other explanation i can think of for the clothes is 'secret society of smart humans' which is eh

Pt. 2 of Notice me! Senpai!
Plot: By now you should know he'll do just about anything to get your attention, even if it means being shitty at a job he's good at.
Pairing: Gojo Satoru x Fem!Reader

a/n; I know I'm ignoring my kinktober list..I know...
๋࣭ 𐙚˙⋆.˚ cw. Minors. Do. Not. Enter. Smut, p in v sex, cunnilingus, fellatio, 69, prone bone, multiple orgasms, pussy drunk gojo, gojo is a yearner, age gap (reader is 33, Satoru is 28), canon divergent (it's never gojover :^))
Word count: 2.8k
Gojo Satoru never thought that he’d be so gullible.
Gullible enough to let himself get dumped by you, not that you dumped him in actuality, in his head you were so much more than that one time you sent him a risqué text accidentally, which consequently led to a very eventful thing happening. Key word, sex.
He knew that had to do something to get your attention, which meant doing a terribly sloppy, messy job on a mission. The killing wasn't the part he would suck at, for very obvious reasons but he could unapologetically collapse a few evacuated buildings, spill the guts, bones and blood of the curses obscenely enough that it left a trace even for the non-sorcerers. The consequences would leave him in a lot of deep shit from the higher ups and principal Yaga.
“Satoru, the casualties in Kobe weren’t as much as we expected, but for the love of fucking god! Can you care enough to explain why you’ve NOT done a clean job?” The air pressure in the room seemed to be skyrocketing with principal Yaga’s blood pressure and the way veins on his forehead were perceptibly popping out, contrasted by Satoru’s smirk of unbothered cool detachment. You knew it was bad the moment principal Yaga didn't particularly care about cuss words effortlessly leaving his mouth.
“My job is to obliterate, I obliterate, maybe maid Ichiji is just not doing his job well” You furrowed your brows at the entitlement and smugness in his statement. Shrugging his shoulders with his hands raised up in a gesture of ‘I wonder’, all of this being way too unserious and unimportant to him. What the fuck was that?
Your presence wasn't technically needed here, but you were specially called for since the only person Satoru considered listening to was you. You stood adjacent to the poor, scrawny man currently hanging on a flimsy thread of his sanity, and the risk of the consequences that his senior was so casually posing for him. You watched the meek man deep his head down, that's when you knew you had to step in for your colleague.
“Gojo-kun, take this seriously. Calling Ichiji-san a maid is not very nice either, it's better to be considerate of people who take away the burden from you for a lot of things. A ‘thank you’ would be better than the..whatever way you're speaking.” The stern tone in your voice definitely took him aback, a strange tug taking over his chest, before he let out an uproarious guffaw, almost like he didn’t take what you said seriously. Ouch.
“Fiiine, I'll do it for you, Just for you.” He threw his hands up dramatically and it drew a wringing smile on your lips. Almost. Yaga on the other hand, was technically on the verge of snapping again at his response, but you saw the principal do EFT, making you sigh at how effortless Satoru was at everything, especially at annoying people.
"Well, thank you Ichiji, since my dear Senpai here is telling me to be polite” He hummed with a smile, a little hopeful after a bordered smile that he pulled from you, his beloved.
His fingers played with the seam of the silky fabric of his blindfold. You noticed. It was an action he often did whenever he was in the wrong about something, where he was thoughtful. It wasn't that he wanted to push the blame on Ichiji, he just wanted your attention, some sort of reaction after being ghosted so brutally after that day. The black haired man simply nodded, acknowledging the apology, darting his eyes at you with a glimmer of gratitude, for stepping up.
You knew he was meeting your eyes, though not visibly, through the restraint of his blindfold. This was not the reaction that he expected, his glossed bottom lip poking out in a pout at the non-verbal interaction between you and Ichiji. And oh how it made him feel bitter. “So did that make you happy, Senpai?” pettishly breathed out, the tonality in his voice was clipped, cold, annoyed and you just rolled your eyes, equally peeved. There was nothing poor about him, and he was getting way too comfortable even at work. But he thought he had that privilege, especially after being between your legs. Not that he understood the concept of personal space, ever.
“Forget it! No one can convince this block head, don't waste your energy. Get back to work everyone.” Yaga had evidently given up at the fact that Satoru wouldn't budge from his cockiness even after being scolded upon.
“See ya, old man” Satoru's statement was met with nothing but a door slam, followed by the presence of you and Ichiji leaving as well, no longer in the room.
He huffed, expecting him to give him an arm touch before you left and look at him with your sympathetic eyes before he'd press his lips against yours and source his energy from the suppleness of them. Fuck. He couldn't be nonchalant about you ignoring him, he was spiralling.
Something had to be done about this.
๋࣭ 𐙚˙⋆.˚
You being stern to him didn't really pay off well, Satoru took it too personally, so personally that he was now at your doorstep, his tall stature looming over you, his broad shoulders that were casting a shadow onto you, drenched from the rain pouring outside, almost looking like a wet dog. Your mind brimmed with questions, why wasn't his infinity on? You stepped away from the door, allowing him inside, a soft cringe taking over your features when you saw the splatters of water on your clean wooden floor. Not like he cared.
“Why weren't you carrying an umbrella?” You looked like a mother, who had her hands on either side of her waist, frustrated with her child who decided that playing around in mud was a good idea. That's what you looked like to Satoru. Cute.
He locked his eyes in yours with a snare gaze along with a playful smile settled on his lips. Not exactly in the mood for talking after your treatment towards him earlier. He grabbed your wrist with a firm, determined grip, making you stumble onto his lap, in a straddle with a soft thud. You lamented softly at the feeling of the wet fabric against your dry, warm and crisp ones.
“You're soiling my clothes, Satoru!” You grumbled further, slapping his chest, your hands quick to smooth away the new state of your clothes, as if it would help.
You swivelled your head on your neck upward, looking at him, and his face had an expression of arrogant confidence and no remorse, a smirk playing the corner of his mouth, cloudy hair plastered on his forehead as thick drops of water streamed down his pretty face in rivulets. He had no right to look this good.
“What? You can handle this much.. you've been awfully rude to me, Princess. Besides, I'm gonna get you drenched anyway.” To which your face loomed a rosy pink. He gave a raspy laugh at the end of the suggestive comment then leaned in, his breath on your cheek warm as he pressed a soft, tender kiss onto your shaded cheek, his hands now growing explorative with his touch, slipping underneath your cardigan.
“You know why I got wet in the rain?” He left the question in the air, a rhetoric as his nimble fingers unbuttoned the cardigan, his eyes half lidded, watching the wool slide down from your shoulders, edging below the lace of your bra. ‘Fuck’ he muttered, tracing his fingertips on the swell of your bosom, frantically leaning in to tether wet kisses from your collarbone to your cleavage, his large hands expanding to cup your clothed chest, circling his hands in soft fondles, earning a mewl from your lips.
His eyes snapped at your face at your reaction, face flushed and eagerly watching his each move. You wanted him. You wanted him!
“I did it to have your attention..even that stupid mission that I could've finished in seconds..did it for you, all for you..Senpai” Shaking his head as he confessed, his hands creeping down to grasp at the plush flesh of your thighs from below, picking you up to land the two of you in your bedroom. You were flattered to the depths of your heart but you just couldn't pinpoint or understand where this was coming from. It had only been 3 days since you both were together again after that night.
He slid off the long coat of his uniform, then his pants and boxers with a grunt as it clung to his skin. He moved on the bed, hovering on top of you, your eyes failing to dart away from his cock that was unbearably hard and prodding at your inner thigh.
“It's not like you don't have my attention—” you crooned, your voice to him like velvet, wrapping around him like a gentle embrace. It was a voice that caressed his ears and soothed his soul, a sound that made him want to listen to you speak forever; the sweetness and undertone of sensuality. Something an adrenaline junkie like him could get addicted to but he cut you off, to make his point.
“It's not enough…it'll never be enough. I'll never not have enough of you” He spoke in a new found desperation in his voice, his fingers hauling the material of your slacks and panties, prying open your thighs, moaning at the sight of your inviting, sodded, glistening cunt.
“All this for me?” He asked in confirmation and you shuddered at the coolness of his fingers that were tempered because of him being wet in the rain priorly.
You nodded your head frantically, your hand settled on his wrist to do something, while he teased your slit so painfully slow, at an agonising degree. “ ‘Toru..please, do something..” that pleading your voice was so satisfying, so affirmative to the light of the fact that you wanted him too. “Fuck.. baby, say it again..need you to say it again..” He pleaded, the azure of his eyes wild and crazed, a feral gleam in their depths that sent shivers down your spine.
“All for you..” That's it. Satoru flipped you over, manhandling you to settle yourself on top of him, now in front of his proud cock, while your ass was on his face, his eyes fixed on your drooling heat.
He dipped in, giving an experimental lap onto your folds, his eyes rolling back at your taste, your essence while his two fingers nudged at the stretchy, entrance muscle, slipping them in with ease, your back arching at the intrusion. His tongue drew circles onto your clit, delving to spread your already profanely exposed pussy with his free hand, smiling at how your nub was poking out, greedy for his tongue, his fingers, his cock.
His hand came down on the globe of your ass with a sharp, stinging smack, the impact making you gasp, a consecutive whine passing your lips when he stopped, your heartbeat in a thrumming beat when he stopped his ministrations and pulled away, giving you another smack, your walls fluttering even at the emptiness. “You're not facing my cock for nothing, suck on it. Make good use of your mouth other than, you know…defending another man.”
“You're full of yourself, you really are..”
Yet you obliged even as you felt vexed by his backhanded comment, your thumb moving up and down on the velvet skin, on his frenum, admiring the curve of his blessed inches before lewdly taking him in your mouth, moaning with your mouth clasped around him when he gave a particularly harsh suck on your clit, your pussy now bubbling with his spit as he ate you out so voraciously, grunting and whimpering on your core in need, in yearning. He felt a little asphyxiated at you sitting on his face, although the good kind.
The orgasm that coiled in your body finally snapped, the tip of his shaft hitting the back of your throat, his happy trail tickling against your chin, his fingers scissoring into you hard and fast, the gushy, squelching noise at the action resounded on the walls—your eyes rolling back at their sockets, his cock slipping out your mouth, red, angry but lustrous with your spit.
“Thaaat's it, fuck, cum on fingers and mouth..make a mess..” He cooed, increasing the rapidness of his fingers. The wave of tingling heat and pleasure washed over you, a wave that crested and broke as you cried out, body arching and writhing under his touch. He sighed, loudly drinking away your juices before detaching yourself from his face, moving your body to hover on you again.
He teased his fingers on your lips, letting your jaw fall slack as he pushed his fingers in. Your mouth immediately surrounded them, swirling your hot tongue to savour your taste, eyes looking in his, all perused. “Look at you, sucking on my fingers like a nasty little slut. You defended Ichiji earlier..gonna let him do this too? Huh? Tell me Senpai..” He mocked pulling out his fingers to let you speak—that led a gasp to erupt your throat. He was satisfied, seeing the glow on your cheeks, the glassed eyes. All for him.
“No Toru..all for you, just for you.. I'm yours” You cloy, tantalising the head of his cock on your slick folds, the environment in the room balmy and humid. That teasing came to a halt when he propelled himself into you with a full swarm. “You're mine, all mine..mine mine mine..no one's gonna..fuck your pussy like me, make you cum like me..no one, princess..”
๋࣭ 𐙚˙⋆.˚
And he fucked you stupid, so primally, so animalistically. Losing count on how many times he pulled an orgasm after orgasm out of you. Now currently having his body overbearingly pressed on yours, his chest on your back, clammy with sweat, his forearms either side of your head, the way your hips were angled made you feel every inch, hitting at spot. He grunted, picking up his upper body away, hands placed on the small of your back that felt like a voltage.
He kneaded onto the flesh of your ass, prior to drawing both your wrists together, holding them down against your back as he plunged into you in a frenzy, harder and faster, nearing the edge. His own dick raw after cumming in you too many times during the night.
Satoru whimpered at the sight of you so ravenously stretched out his length, swallowing him in as he came again, completely milked dry and your body violently quivering. He chanted your name in soft cries as he pulled out, gently fisting himself and getting out every last drop on your twitching cunny.
He dropped his body onto you like it weighed nothing, ragging breaths leaving his lips and yours. He kissed the expanse of the back of your neck, playfully blowing a raspberry on your skin, making you giggle.
“You're a freak.” You turned around, allowing your manicured hairs to trail through his hair, enjoying the texture of his silky strands, as you brushed it back from his forehead. Your touch was gentle, almost reverent, fingers carded through the locks, massaging his scalp with a light pressure that made him hum in contentment.
“I'm your freak..” The giddy, smitten smile on his face makes your heart flutter. Damn it.
“Be my girlfriend..I can't take anymore of you not being mine anymore..” He saw the hesitation flicker across your face and it caught him off guard, the sorcerer felt something drop sickeningly in his stomach. Definitely his heart.
“...Let me think about it, okay?” He rolled his eyes before pinning your wrists above your head in bravado.
“You want me. I was inside you. I tasted you. That is a truth you will never escape.” He smiled, self assured, seeing the heat crawl on your cheeks at his crude yet factual comment.
“You're blushing..” He pointed, leaning his head downward, fighting the idiotic grin that was slowly lacing his handsome face at your reaction. He hummed, nosing your nipple faintly, before giving it a quick lap.
“So..? Never saw anyone fall for your charm before?” You raise your brow and he snorts, giving a soft bite on the supple flesh of your nipple with a chuckle at your gasp, immediately soothing it with a lick. “Yeah I have seen someone not fall for it, it's you.”
“Well, it doesn't matter because tomorrow I'm telling everyone that you're my girlfriend, especially Ichiji” He proudly replied, pulling you to his chest, inhaling deeply to let your scent tickle his senses.
“You're not gonna lose on this are you?” your arm wrapped around his waist, signalling him that you weren't exactly opposed to the idea.
“Nope, I'm the strongest for a reason” He spoke in his ever unwavering swagger and you could only sigh, being a loser in his love.

Chapter 6
Rating: Teen and Up
Relationships: Noa x Mae (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes)
Content warnings: None
Comments: English is not my first language. This is my last chapter before going back to Med School :(
“How are Noa… and you?” Anaya asked, a little scared to make the female angry or uncomfortable, he knew it was a sensible topic and that the more-than-just-a-friendship thing between them was long time dead.
“Fine” Soona said “He is my friend… like you”
The curiosity was killing Anaya, so he pushed the limits a little bit.
“I know you… were… too close” the male avoided eye contact.
His friend just stood there, not making any movements or showing any emotions.
“Can I be… honest with you, Anaya?”
“Yes! Of course”
Soona inhaled.
“I hoped Noa would see me as… something more… than just his friend” even though her words were sad, her face only showed serenity “He took me… to see the world… once we were… free from Proximus. However… I knew he didn’t… love me that much”
“Oh no, no, no, no, Soona” the male said, he reached to his friend and hugged her tight “He loves you… very much. I do too”
The smaller ape laughed a little, hugging her friend back. When they let go, she continued.
“But you know… what I mean” Anaya looked at the floor, feeling sad for her “And then Mae came back… I didn’t… trust her. And when she… left again I begged… Noa to let her go. He didn’t, but I learned to… forgive. Mae is good and she… is my friend”
He wanted to tell her about the night Mae and Noa were out to see the lighting dancers, but he promised not to tell anyone, so he stayed silent. All he could do was take Soona’s hand in his and act like a true friend.
-----------
“Is this another secret spot you wanted to show me?” Mae said. She and the ape were doing a light climbing in a destroyed three-story building covered in leaves.
“No. I want to teach you how to be strong” Noa said, grabbing a branch and pushing himself up.
“I am strong” Mae said, panting.
“When you came to the village you were a twig”
“Sorry for being held captive in a quarantine bunker”
“No excuses”
They were only halfway through when Mae stopped, hugging a big branch with both arms, closing her eyes and exhaling.
“Mae?” the male came closer to the human, hanging only from one arm and feet.
He put his other hand on top of Mae´s head, gently caressing her hair.
“What is wrong?”
“I just… need a minute”
“I´m bringing you to the village”
“No! No, I can. I just need to rest a little bit”
“Mae”
“I can do it”
The Echo reached another branch, but quickly slipped, Noa held her by the waist, while all her limbs hung loose.
The ape took her to the ground and Mae sat immediately.
“Sorry, but the sun and the height…”
“It's okey”
“Tomorrow we can try again”
“Sure”
Noa was a little devastated, he felt anger at himself. He wanted to pretend Mae was the same as him, or maybe that she could be like him, but they were so different in many aspects. He used to think maybe she was weak even among her own, but he had seen her killed Trevathan…
Maybe it was time to accept the reality. They were different.
Why was he trying to make them both seem equal?
“So that it wouldn’t be so weird to have these feelings”
“Let´s go to the village. And then you… can teach me how to read” Noa said.
Mae looked up and made a strange face, the ape was taken back at that.
“I… no”
No?
“Oh. I just thought… you could teach me some things from your… people” he felt shy, embarrassed, suddenly, his hands became awkward.
“I can´t teach you more things” Mae murmured “Sorry”
“Is that… forbidden?”
“For me, yeah, it is”
“For you?” Noa sat besides her “Is someone forbidding you?”
“No, Noa. I am forbidding myself… from teaching you”
He was getting more confused every time, maybe the girl was really tired…
Right when he was about to offer they return to the village, the Echo spoke.
“I can´t teach the apes. It´s dangerous”
“What?”
Mae refused to look him in the eyes.
“I can not believe you” Noa sighed, he got up and stared at the human “Dangerous? Why would it be dangerous?”
“It is, Noa!” Mae said exasperated, she stood up and almost fall back, Noa resisted the urge to catch her “You are already… evolving. Remember what Proximus said? Those weapons in the bunker would have help the apes to evolve and we don´t want that! Weapons and guns are not the only way your kind can evolve, Noa, knowledge can do that too”
“So you will not share it. Because you are scared that we become… better than you humans. Is that so, Mae?”
“Yes” her face showed security.
Noa walked towards the human and stood in front of her. They were almost the same heigh, both pair of eyes watching each other intensely.
“You are so fake” the ape chuckle “Every time I think you had change… you just prove me wrong. You pretend and lie and steal. Are all humans… like you, Mae? Or are you just a rotten apple among them?”
“Shut up! You stupid animal!” Mae yelled furious, pushing the ape with both hands, only moving him a little.
“How does it feel, Mae? Watching me… evolve”
“You will never know how it feels to be completely human” the human started to cry, tears rolling down her cheeks, anger in her eyes.
“I don’t want to be human” Noa said “And I don’t need you to help me... evolve. I fixed the electric spear… without help and without you, remember?”
“Your time is over, Noa. I delivered the key, got that? The book that could make humans speak again. It´s only a matter of time before the humans reunite and be strong again, it will be our planet again”
“The things with us, princess, is that we don’t claim the planet. We… live here, but it is not ours!”
“You wouldn’t understand”
“No? Am I too dumb, Mae?”
“You didn’t see the world with us in it”
“And you did? How old are you, Mae? Because… I am sure that you never saw the world… either”
“You are being too... cruel” Noa could see the pain in her eyes, the puffy face and red cheeks. The tiredness.
Did he cross the line?
“Let´s go to the village” Noa said, lowering his voice but keeping the cold tone in it.
“I´ll go by myself. I know were it is” Mae started to walk when the ape grabbed her arm. Why did he keep doing that?
“No. We are going together”
“After all that… what makes you think I want your company?”
“I don’t care if you want it or not. I am not… leaving you”
“Whatever” she said with disdain, pushing him away from her.
They started walking putting some distance between them. The ape could hear Mae´s sobs.
Were they going to be able to forgive each other for the words said today?
"Would I ever forgive myself for making her cry?"

GOJO SATORU
warnings: reader is blindfolded and bound (wrists), use of safe word, unprotected sex, crying, descriptions of anxiety
you’ve done it a ton but it still makes you nervous.
one sense is kind of a lot to lose when you only have five of them, as a non sorcerer. but the relinquishing of control, entrusting your safety and pleasure and entire body to someone else… it turns you on beyond belief.
so here you are, tonight, blindfold tight over your eyes and hands bound behind your back as satoru fucks you, pace languid, fingers running all over your body.
any other day, it would be just what you needed to relax. any other day you’d be squirming in pleasure, hips bucking wildly against him as your nails claw at your own palms.
but today, for whatever reason, it’s uncomfortable. maybe you’ve had too much caffeine, maybe it’s the stress of his most recent mission, the first one to ever have you worrying your lip all night long thinking, maybe he’s not coming back this time.
his wandering hands feel foreign, the pleasured moans coming from his mouth sounding distant and wrong. your arms tingle from the position you’re in, your sweaty skin itches and you can’t reach to scratch at it.
you furrow your brows.
“satoru…” you whine softly, still unsure of what to ask for.
“mmm?,” he grips your waist, his strokes deep and precise. “my pretty baby looks so good like this. so mine.”
you whine, wriggling in search for comfort. satoru must mistake that for pleasure because he fucks you just a little bit harder, puffing out hot breaths into the crook of your neck.
“kiss me,” you ask, hoping it’ll make it better, but it does nothing to calm you down. with no stimuli but touch, your brain starts to go into overdrive, and you feel tears begin to trickle down your face.
satoru notices, but not in the right way.
“is it that good?” he teases, like he always does, but today it sends a chill down your spine. “i could do anything i wanted to you right now and you wouldn’t even know. wouldn’t be able to stop me.”
that does it for you, a wrecked sob leaving your lips along with your safe word.
satoru stills immediately. you can feel him softening inside you and for some reason that only makes you cry harder.
gently, he reaches behind your head to unhook the blindfold, his worried gaze searching your face for answers.
he lifts your back and unties your wrists, rubbing them to soothe the friction from the ropes.
“baby…” his tone is careful and guilty. “sweetheart, is everything okay? did i do something, what did i do?”
you sniff. the first words that come out of your mouth are, “i’m sorry.”
you’ve never had him so doting, so tense, all that confidence vanishing and it makes you chuckle, this big lanky man handling every limb of yours like they’re made out of snowflakes.
“satoru, i’m okay. i just…” you inhale deeply. “i just got overwhelmed, is all.”
he lays down beside you, visibly unsure about touching you. you grip his hand firmly in yours, offering him a wavering smile.
“i’m okay, i promise. you’re good,” you lean over to peck his lips.
satoru looks regretful, but he relaxes at the gesture, caressing the side of your face softly.
“i love you so much. i’m sorry if i, like, went too far or something—“
“you did nothing wrong,” you assure him. “i think i’m just having a bad day. just wanted to see your face to feel better.”
at that, he smirks. he kisses you slowly, adoringly, unspoken apologies every time your lips touch.
“i am sorry, by the way,” you say. satoru looks back at you with a confused expression on his face. you continue sheepishly, “for having to use the word.”
“huh?” he exclaims, his incredulity so earnest that it rips a hearty laugh from you. “nah, hell no. thank you for saying it, actually.”
“yeah? you’re not upset?”
“of course not. i completely understand,” he traces a line down your body. “not being able to see my handsome face would make anyone cry.”
you slap his hand away playfully and he pulls you into his chest, cuddling you.
you stay like that until you fall asleep, reassured that the most powerful sorcerer in the world is indeed fit to take care of you; heart, body and soul.
GETO SUGURU
warnings: overstim, degradation/humiliation and dirty talk, use of safe word, reader’s discomfort is brief but descriptive
you don’t know how long it’s been.
maybe ten minutes. maybe twenty. maybe ninety.
you don’t know how many times you came.
your entire body is covered in sweat, the top of your thighs and the bottom of your ass soaked in your own arousal.
suguru holds the wand to your clit almost disinterestedly, eyes glazed over and locked on your cunt.
he fucking loves it, making you cum over and over again, thrash against his body, make a mess on his sheets. and you love it just the same.
the undivided attention, the devotion, the seconds right after when the stimulation doesn’t stop and it hurts so bad before it gets mind-numbingly good again.
“hahh,” you breathe out, voice cracking. “i—i’m gonna—“
“oh, you’re gonna?” suguru mocks you. “shocking.”
you moan at his words, his tone. by now, your body barely has any energy left to react. all you can feel is the release of an unbelievable pressure in your core as wetness gushes out of you uncontrollably when you cum.
your puffy clit is throbbing, thoroughly abused, your spread legs quivering in pleasure. you sigh in anticipatory relief at the incoming break suguru is bound to give you after your orgasm.
except this time, the break doesn’t come.
“ahh!” you scream — honest to god yell — as the buzzing continues, suguru pressing the wand down hard on your pussy.
he chuckles, playing with the toy, lifting it up just slightly before bringing it back down on you, over and over again.
“can’t—i can’t, suguru, i can’t cum right now—“
“of course you can, baby,” he says in a sickeningly sweet voice, getting off on your desperation.
usually you’re just as much into it as he is, but this time it’s for real. it’s painful and not in the nice way, you’ve hit your limit but you can hardly talk, can’t do much more than try to wiggle away from your boyfriend’s ministrations.
“how can you say that when you have such a slutty pussy?” he runs his fingers through your slick folds, and every clench of your cunt makes it hurt even more. “so greedy…”
you’re clawing at his hands, but he’s so much stronger than you, his forearms and thighs holding you down, leaving you entirely to his mercy — of which he has none.
“please please fuck please no more—“
it’s something he’s heard you say a thousand times, in a thousand different scenarios, and never truly mean it, which is why you even have a safe word in the first place.
oh right. the safe word.
you pull it out from the depths of your fucked out, mushed up brain and blurt it, digging your heels into the mattress.
it all happens so fast, after that.
suguru all but tosses the wand to the side, switching to lightly stroking your pussy. it makes you jolt; even a gush of air right now could probably make you cry in overstimulation.
“oh fuck, shit,” he removes his hand and you whine. “what do you need baby, what can i do?”
“s-suguru…” you’re still trying to catch your breath, your legs spasming erratically.
“i’m here, i’m here,” suguru starts to move towards you but stops halfway. “do you want me to be here?”
you let out a croaky laugh, opening your arms because you’re too far gone to use words.
hesitantly, he lays his head on your chest. when he feels how fast your heart is beating, his own sinks to his stomach.
“i’m so sorry honey. i thought you were into it.”
you swallow, taking a few beats to regain your composure.
“i was, it was just… a lot, all of a sudden.”
suguru turns his head to look up at you.
“i get it,” he wipes away a stray tear you hadn’t even noticed you’d shed. “i’m sorry. i love you, i'm so sorry—”
“it’s okay,” you offer him a weak smile. “it’s what the word is for, right?”
“right…” he sounds unsure. that makes you frown.
you two lay there for a while, until your breathing has evened out, until your thighs have stopped shaking.
you can practically hear the hear the cogs in his brain turning, certain that his brain chastising himself.
“hey, suguru?” your voice rips him right out of his thoughts.
“hmm?”
“can you promise me something?”
he sits up in attention, instinctively reaching for your hand. “of course.”
“promise me you’re never gonna stop fucking me like that," he gulps, audibly, visibly relaxing. "and i promise to always let you know if i need to stop.”
it takes a beat, but suguru finally loosens up, pressing his smile into your lips over and over again and mumbling all sorts of promises of his own against them.
TOJI FUSHIGURO
warnings: knifeplay, cnc (sort of), roleplaying, pretty graphic descriptions of anxiety and panic, oral (m! receiving)
“what’s a pretty lil’ thing like you doin’ here this late at night?”
you roll your eyes to yourself before putting on your best innocent look to turn around and face the man.
he’s smirking down at you, the streetlight lamps casting dark shadows on his features.
if you were being honest with yourself, you’d never really been interested in roleplaying in your previous relationships. it was always so awkward and you never truly felt any incentive to stick to the script no matter how much the scenario excited you.
until you met toji, that is.
he was always so into it, played his parts convincingly well, which should probably worry you considering he would always opt to play the sleazy delivery guy, the pervy doctor, the horny stranger in a bar.
as for you, acting the part of the ditzy student or the clumsy maid or whatever the fuck toji wanted you to be that particular day… yeah, that was embarrassingly hot too.
tonight, he’s playing creepy guy in a dark alleyway. he’d texted you in advance, a very romantic meet me in that alley between the tracks and the highway. dress slutty.
“i was just looking for the station and got lost…” you mumble, looking up at him through your eyelashes. he pouts in a fake display of pity, twirling something inside his jacket pocket.
“oh, what a coincidence! i was just on my way there. care to accompany me?”
you smile sweetly, linking arms with him.
soon enough, you find yourself being shoved past toji’s apartment door, his pocketknife prodding at the small of your back.
you have to contain your giggles to stay in character, letting him toss you onto his bed. you also have to fight your anger when he slashes through your top, a sleazy smile on his face as he breaks character to say he’ll get you a new one.
he’s so goddamn hard that it should concern you, holding your jaw open while he feeds you his cock.
“god—shit, that’s right, such a slutty little mouth,” you moan around his length, hands resting primly on top of your thighs. “you were just begging for it, weren’t you, slut?”
you bob your head up and down, putting on a fake grimace while squeezing your legs together at the same time.
you hear something click in the distance, the sound barely registering in your brain as you get lost in the scent of him. he’s beginning to push into your throat now, laughing like a maniac when you choke on it.
“c’mon now, open up that throat for me, girl,” you inhale in preparation. but your breath gets caught in your throat when you feel something cold and sharp poke you. “or maybe i’ll just to do it for ya with this.”
toji’s pressing his switchblade to your neck, grazing it delicately up and down.
he’s not going to hurt you. you know that.
the blade is probably too dull to pierce skin even if he tried, but he would never, you know this, you know he won’t.
and yet despite that, your heart is jackhammering in your ribcage, uncontrolled and wild as your eyes widen around tears.
toji takes your inaction as a sign to just start fucking your mouth a little more, but your attention is zeroed in on that pocketknife.
suddenly colors are sharper, like it’s bright as day inside his dimly lit bedroom. a headache begins to bloom and you start choking in earnest now, not because toji’s going too hard but because you can’t coordinate your breaths.
he starts tracing your throat with the blade. “feel me right here sweetheart? fuck.”
you’re clearly struggling but it’s hard to distinguish your real reactions to the character you’re supposed to be playing. that only serves to make you panic even further, hands coming up to push on toji’s thighs.
“hands to yourself, whore,” he grunts, pressing the knife a little too hard, a little too close for comfort, and you hit your breaking point.
you start garbling wildly around his dick, repeating your safe word over and over again until a very confused toji finally makes out what you’re saying.
he rips himself out of your mouth, instantly dropping to his knees and grabbing your chin in his hand.
“oh fuck, did i cut ya sweetheart?” he moves your face from side to side, examining you.
you swallow around the lump in your throat, willing your heart to calm down.
“uh, n-no. just got a bit too real there, for a moment.”
he sighs, partially relieved, reassessing the situation. you’re gulping in air, blowing it out of your mouth in calculated puffs.
toji waits until you're visibly calmer before he gets up.
“wait here,” he orders.
you sit down on the floor, hands wrapped around your knees and mentally repeating to yourself that you’re okay, it wasn’t real, you’re not in danger.
toji returns with a glass of water, sitting down in front of you and waiting until you’ve drank most of it.
“you okay?” he asks.
you take a beat before you can honestly say you are. you nod.
“that knife on your throat was a bit too far, huh, babe?”
“yeah,” you garble out, tracing circles on his knees. “could’ve warned me of that particular detail. asshole.”
he laughs but his body language isn't nearly as carefree.
there’s a long drag of silence before he speaks again.
“i’m sorry, honey. really.”
and toji, as amazing as he can be, is usually way too prideful to admit guilt. so the fact that he apologizes is what finally gets you to fully relax, knowing he does realize the situation you were in and feels bad about it.
“honestly we can stop with all the roleplaying bullshit, it’s getting kinda old anyways. you know i don't need you playing a slut to get you acting like one on my co—“
“toji,” you hiss, and he puts his hands up in mock surrender. “it’s fine. i think i have a better idea, anyway.”
that seems to spark his interest. he rises his eyebrows, prompting you to go on.
“because there’s a few roleplays we haven’t tried yet. and if you genuinely feel so bad—“ he says your name sternly but just you ignore him, “then i know the perfect thing you can do to make it up to me.”
“babe…” he bemoans like a chastised child, with a hint of resignation at what awaits him.
when he sees that you’re beaming he just takes a deep breath, running a hand through his hair defeatedly.
“when?” is all he asks.
impossibly, your smile grows even wider.
“i already ordered the costume! and the cat ears should be here next week,” you kiss his forehead, propping yourself on his shoulders to stand up.
you hear him groan in the distance as you skip to the bathroom, turning on the faucet.
he stalks after you almost immediately, wrapping his arms around your waist and honest to god pouting at you in the mirror.
“are ya really going to do this to me now?”
you grin.
“don’t you mean meow, kitty?”

About You Pt 18
Sebastian Vettel x Webber!Reader
Summary: Everyone knows about the history of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. But there's a well kept story within the paddock about Sebastian Vettel and another Webber. This is that story.
A/N: and we are here, one more chapter to go. any ideas? any thoughts? I hope you enjoyed this ride because i surely do! listen to ocean and engines by niki to feel this chapter a little more. alsooooo, i'm hinting a new series with the close of this one with our favorite second lead.
About You Series
2014, Sochi Autodrom
It was the first Formula 1 race in Russia and everyone expected fanfares about it yet the reality is far different. It was rare that the whole grid was so quiet. The grid was always buzzing with reporters trying to get a scoop to photographers capturing every single interaction to fans clamoring to get signature from their favorite driver. Today, the whole paddock seems to be walking on eggshells.
Well what does everyone expect when it has just been four days since that awful tragedy in Japan. It felt like it was so wrong in many levels that the drivers are back on track when one of their own is currently fighting for his life.
The doctors told them that there is a possibility for recovery but all can only be determined when he regains consciousness. It was hard to hold on to false hope so the feeling of grief sits heavy on their shoulders.
There were drivers who are angry. Checo Perez was in a screaming match with one of the FIA officials during media day. He demanded how is it possible with all the safety precautions that has been implemented, a tragedy such as this still exist. Jenson, although a little more calmer in his tone, asked for someone to be accountable for what happened to Jules.
Some were emotional. It cannot be denied that those closest with Jules couldn't keep their tears in. Max Chilton, his teammate, was crying the minute he saw that their garage only has one car. He was so used to seeing Jules greeting him and having him on track that it felt unreal that he may never see him again. Another one struggling is Daniel, who has been Jules' bestfriend. Ever since Suzuka, his eyes were red from crying and his usual happy self was gone. It has deeply affected his race performance but he couldn't hide how he feels.
Then there were those who are driven with guilt. Lewis should have felt like in cloud nine after gaining the driver's championship yet he felt empty. No celebrations for that because how could he be happy when Jules is still unconscious. Adrian Sutil founds himself in a battle with guilt even if no one was blaming him. He witnessed the whole thing in front of him and it all happened so fast.
For Sebastian, it wasn't an option to be emotional, angry, or guilty. He has to be rational and if possible hide his feelings as much as possible. He takes it upon himself to look after the whole grid, it was the least that he could do for everyone.
But then in rare moments where he is in his driver's room, an hour away from the race, he lets his guard down.
"Seb, I'm just dropping these oranges"Y/N wheeled in "Seb?"
The distress signals were calling Y/N with how Sebastian stayed with his back turned. His heavy breathing and the shaking hands were a dead giveaway that he has been crying.
"I'm okay, I'm okay" Sebastian repeated like a mantra.
He knows that Y/N has her own fair share of emotions to deal with Jules' tragedy. It mirrored her own a few months ago and she would spend night sleepless after being tormented by the memories of the accident. He needs to show that he is someone strong that Y/N can lean on so he cannot afford to show her that he is crying.
"Please seb, you can talk to me"Y/N begged, inching closer.
"I'm okay, I'm okay"
"Please Seb, I'm just trying to help you"Y/N explained "Please don't shut me out"
"I said I'm fine."
The tone was harsher than what Sebastian has intended. Even he was shocked by his voice and he couldn't help but face her to apologize. A very wrong decision on his part because he saw how equally shocked Y/N has been.
"I'm sorry, I just" Sebastian was lost for words "I'm just honestly so tired and you have been pressing me for something...but I'm still really sorry"
Y/N nodded her head. She was with Sebastian with the past few days and this has been a common occurrence. A part of her hurts that Sebastian seems to be shutting her out but there was the rational part of her brain that tells her that this is just a normal response from the accident. She bits back some of her words and lets out a heavy sigh.
"I'm really sorry" Sebastian embraced her.
She nods reluctantly, there was nothing she could do if Sebastian doesn't want to say anything. For all the years she knew Sebastian, he could be stubborn when he wants to.
Y/N reached out for an orange and handed it to Sebastian.
"Can you peel one?"Y/N asked "Just like our old traditions?"
A small smile appeared on his face and it felt like they were back to the good old days. It seems like it was just yesterday when they were sharing their first oranges and thinking that it brought some kind of luck during Sunday races.
Both of them wish that they were just back to much simpler times. When Sebastian was still a young reckless driver, who wants to prove himself and Y/N was still Mark's assistant. When the problems that they faced were still menial and nothing is as complicated like how they are right now.
They spent some time in silence eating their oranges until the clock starts ticking closer to the start of the race. The buzz of the door outside is getting a bit louder and both of them wished that they can just disappear inside the driver's room forever.
"You come back safe to me Seb" Y/N wistfully stated. The tender smile that they both shared knows how much this sentence weighs right now.
"I'm always coming back for you"
2014, Circuit of the America
Plenty of emails have remained unread ever since Y/N took her leave from the office. Although, it was not part of her job description, Jenson trusted her to sort his emails. Her replacement is someone competent but she is not someone that Jenson could trust yet, hence the pile up.
It was now time to open up the emails and delete the unnecessary ones as it takes up a lot of space. Jenson places himself at the hotel cafe, ready with a cup of coffee to keep himself awake.
"How does she do this every single day"Jenson mutters under his breath.
His respect raised somewhat higher after looking at 10 emails. Most of them were brand deals or an invitation to join a shady business deals. Jenson sorted out the mails into junk or those he would check on with his manager.
Ping.
Jenson almost groans upon realizing that there was a new email that has just been sent. He was ready to say forget it and let it have its turn to be waited upon. But then the subject of the email was written in all caps and bold, emphasizing the gravity of it all.
'WEBBER RESIGNATION LETTER'
The document attached to the email was plain and simple. It discusses how her accident has caused her incapable of fulfilling her duties and that she needed time off to recover completely. She stated how it was one of the best years to be able to work in McLaren and it was unfortunate how it has to end this way.
On another hand, the email itself was a personal letter to Jenson.
"Dear Jenson,
First of all, I apologize since I didn't have the courage to tell you all of this in person. This is an incredibly tough decision to make and I wasn't even sure if I was actually doing this until I hit the sent button. I'm really sorry that I'm emailing something because I'm too scared to face you right now.
Second, I wanted to thank you for everything. You have been the person that I have spent a lot of good and bad days with. You also let me see the different variations of you. The media may always paint you as a cheeky guy who was lucky to win a championship but I see more than that. You are a good person who cares a lot. You love rarely but its genuine. You push yourself to the limits even when you have a shit car or even teammate.
Lastly, I hope that my resignation will bring you peace. I know that you keep blaming yourself for my accident and you still think that you should have been the one driving the car. It pains me that you blame yourself for what happened to me. It wasn't your fault Jenson. I will keep repeating it a hundred times over until you get it through your thick skull. Learn how to forgive yourself and not be too harsh on yourself.
Jenson, I wish I could tell you how much I wanted to stay in this world. Motorsports is the only thing that I know but I have to take some time off. I have to heal myself physically, mentally and maybe even spiritually. Everything has been really draining and it is taking a toll on me. I know you may hate me for my decision but I hope you could understand this one day.
Always with you Jenson, Y/N.
The laptop's mousepad was slippery due to the tears that have fallen from Jenson. He felt a wave of embarrassment after realizing that he was in a public place and it would have made big headlines if someone caught him crying like this.
"Are you okay Mr Button?" a small voice tugged Jenson's jacket.
Jenson saw a young boy in buzzcut wearing a pajama set. He seems to be no less than 10 years old. Jenson immediately fixes his face to greet him.
"Yeah, I'm okay kiddo" Jenson tries to force a smile.
"My sister says its not nice to lie" the boy pointed out "however sometimes my sister lies sometimes pretend things are better than it seems. She says those lies are happy lies"
The ability of children to see through people should be discussed. Jenson finds himself tearing up a bit more after being confronted by a child.
"Here is my hanky"the boy pushed his blue handkerchief towards Jenson "I think you need this today Mr. Button"
Jenson smiles gratefully, he wanted to ask the name of the boy and thank him when someone else approached the table.
"You're Jenson Button? Can we take a photo?"
"Yeah sure"Jenson agreed.
The giddy McLaren fans immediately went next to him. He smiled the best he could and he hoped that his crying wasn't that all visible. After all is said and done, the fans thanked him.
Jenson turned to look for the kid but he was long gone. The existence of their interaction only existed with the blue handkerchief which has the name RJ.
Maybe someday he will meet that RJ kid again to thank him.
2014, Interlagos
When Y/N suggested that they have something to talk about during dinner, Sebastian took it as a sign to make it up for her. He knows how difficult he has been the past few weeks and it took him a while to revert back to his old self. He also knows that this has been a difficult season for Y/N with the accident, Michael, Jules, and every fiasco. They deserve a night out.
And like a poetic justice, he wanted to replace the horrible memory of the restaurant in Brazil last year.
He went all out with the whole preparation. He was dressed in some nice polo, a beautiful dress sent to Y/N, and a gorgeous flower arrangement. He planned to make this evening something memorable and a far better ending than last year.
But the candlelit dinner seems to be lacking its romantic aura with the way that their food has been half-eaten and their wines untouched. It doesn't take a genius to guess that this evening might not go well.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" Sebastian spoke up "You don't like the food?"
"It's fine, I'm just not hungry" her voice was almost a whisper.
In Y/N's head, she felt extremely guilty. She wanted a simple dinner with Sebastian to talk to him about her plans to take time off F1 and take a break. But seeing how Sebastian prepared so much for the dinner date, she felt like she couldn't find a perfect timing to break the news to him.
"You don't have to keep hiding, you could talk to me"Sebastian urged her to open up.
There was no point in prolonging the agony, might as well rip the bandages out.
She sucked in air as she delivers the news, "I'm resigning as Jenson's PR"
The fork that Sebastian was holding clatters down his plate. Surprise was evident on his face since he didn't expect this at all. There must be another team offering her a job that's why she resigned.
"Did Ferrari offer you a job?" Sebastian was trying to be optimistic. "Or did Nico finally poach you to join Mercedes-"
"No other teams, I'm just resigning"
His eyes were looking at her trying to see if there is any bluff or whatsoever, "Can I ask why?"
"There has just been a lot going on"Y/N admitted "I needed to heal and get back on my feet. I need to focus on getting better so I don't have to trouble you lot"
“Is that what’s bothering you?” Sebastian pressed “If that’s the only thing bothering you then you don’t have to worry about a thing. I can always fly to Monaco during weekends which are not race weekends and-“
Sebastian stops upon seeing the sad smile that she has on her face. Her hands pushed the set of keys that he entrusted to her. There was a moment of silence between the two of them and its like they could hear both their hearts pounding in this impending moment of confrontation.
“I have to go on my own Seb”Y/N explained “All the stuffs that I have to relearn, I need time to recover from everything that happened”
‘Then I’ll be by your side,’ Sebastian wanted to protest. But he felt lost for words.
“This whole situation is far from healthy and I cannot burden you any longer when you are also struggling to cope with the losses that we have experienced”
Slumping back at his seat, Sebastian could just recount the several events that happened in the past few months. Everything was a whirlwind for the two of them and at the back of his mind, he knows that Y/N is being reasonable. She needed time to recover from the tragedies and Sebastian also needed to cope healthily rather than pushing people away.
He gazed at her and he seems to notice for the first time how its taking a toll on her. It was a far different cry from that girl who he first met but Sebastian couldn’t help his feelings.
“But I love you” Sebastian managed to say something at last. He loves Y/N so much and the pang of pain in her eyes shows how Y/N loves him as well.
“And I do love you Seb”her voice cracking “But this isn’t a right time for us since we’re both broken and we will end up hurting each other if we stay together”
It wasn’t unlike Sebastian to give up in a fight. He was born to be competitive and fight for what he wants. However, how could he continue to fight when the white flag is already waved and its only waiting for his peaceful retreat.
“So what now..”he wondered.
“I’ll try to find myself”she answered bravely but tears were stinging her eyes “And I wish we could both recover and we can find happiness again”
He could only scoff at that, “That’s impossible for me to do”
“Seb please..”
“You can’t just ask me to let go of you and leave you alone when all I wanted to do is be by your side” Sebastian continues “I love you Y/N and isn’t love just enough to keep us going through things together?”
The woman in front of him started laughing bitterly. He could hear the laughter taunting him but at the same time the tears were falling down her cheeks. It was a whiplash of emotions.
“I wish love was enough that it could help me walk again. I wish love was strong enough that Jules is awake. I fucking wish love was enough that you don’t have to push me away when I was trying to ask you what’s going on.”
Both of them stared at each other like they were trying to figure out who was the stranger sitting in front of them. They both didn’t know how it suddenly escalated and turned into this kind of situation.
“All I ever wanted was a clean break”Y/N pointed “I was trying to take care of you Seb”
“No”Seb rejected “You’re running away from your problems”
Wiping her tears away, Y/N sent a message to Mark. It was a good thing that Mark insisted on being nearby so that if the whole thing goes south then he could pick her up right away.
“I’m leaving now. This is goodbye”
Y/N struggled to wheel herself out but she would not ask Sebastian for any help. She managed to turn her back from Sebastian and she felt hurt that Sebastian was not doing anything to stop her from leaving.
“Did you love me?”
The question stings Y/N and she halts. If she didn’t love Sebastian then she would be selfish and stayed with Sebastian to burden him with her troubles. She loves him so much to the point that she refuses that he was a getting a broken version of herself. She loves him to the point that he recognizes that she didn’t want to hurt Sebastian in the long run that’s why she chooses to recover and heal.
“It don’t care if you don’t”Sebastian declared “Because I love you and I’ll love you enough for the both of us. I will wait for you until you feel better, until you feel okay. I’ll be here”
Those words were something that she badly want to hear. It almost made her abandon the idea of leaving everything behind, she wanted to be so selfish. But she kept going and tried to not look back.
“Goodbye Sebastian”

SPOILERS! (ninjago dragons rising season 2 part 2)
I'm crying why did she grab him??? And he doesn't even resist
Also, I LOVE how they go about Arin's "betrayal" Arin doesn't like him, he doesn't want to be on his side... He just wants what Ras can give him
Very confused about the "Wu caused the merge" thing because I feel like it's more of caused-it-due-to-not-stopping-it situation rather than directly causing it? Especially because Wu was actively trying to prevent it from happening, as shown on a few occasions
In addition to that, love how Cole is shown in the series so far, just wish we got a little more of him. I know they aren't the main characters anymore but he's the mom friend and they all need more of that lol Geo and him running to the museum together is so cute awgh
Liking how this is going, the Ras situation is curious in that it seems like he was attempting to avenge his people by "controlling" the forbidden five (moreso attempted to)
The only thing I didn't like about season 2 part 2 is how they went about the Jay situation? Something about it felt off or wrong, can't place a finger on it though... I may just be stupid and it may only be me, but felt funny; like it wasn't right??
Now, questions on my mind since this has raised some: If Lloyd hadn't been disqualified for being injured in a fight (lame rule by the way, he seemed fine <3), then would he have won? And if he did, he would have to fight Sora, but I'm more curious about what Nokt would have done about it Why did Lloyd's eyes stay green after losing his power? Is it not completely lost, just limited? 'Cause Cole was still able to control the rocks due to the assistance of the elemental energy in his mother's mech, meaning they still have the connection... Which would make sense, considering all the "got my powers back" instances Oh, also they called his power "life," which I find interesting because one would assume that the Tournament of Sources would have the correct name for his power! Curious what else Lloyd can do, since I don't think he's ever really reached his true potential? (I know people consider him becoming the Golden Spinjiztu master it but that doesn't make much sense to me) When Zeatrix attacked Lloyd with the sword, was that supposed to be her literally cutting through his side? They're legos so it kinda just looked like she whacked him with a long stick, lol
Euggh I cannot wait for more I love Sora and Lloyd's relationship. Also when she said "If he (Arin) even wants to be found" I lost it because I immediately thought of Morro oops Wyldfyre sleeping with Riyu, awjwaah... I was slightly sad when we didn't get much of her and Riyu at the beginning (since the relationship just makes sense), but those little things are great I also love Frak (however you spell it) and I hope he doesn't just disappear after that
Still want to see Lloyd go ape shit please elpase pleasesplease pelasep palesepelase pleaseee
#ninjago spoilers#ninjago dragons rising#lego ninjago#ninjago#lloyd garmadon#ninjago sora#ninjago arin#okay done ranting now#awugsh maybe not I love them so much#Seeing someone other than Lloyd fling around balls of green was poking at my brain in a funny way#dunno how to explain it#Very investing on how they might dive into Lloyd's abilities#He can definently do more than what we've seen him do#Like that power directly correlates to one of the source dragons#just flinging around neon green orbs can't be it#Tck chat#Tck rant

I Can Do Anything Better Than He Can
Noa x human!reader!
~o0o~
You had travelled along side Mae on the journey to find the divice that could help humans speak again. Help us communicate with others around the fallen world ran by the apes. A lifetime of indoctrination had shaped your perception of apes. You had been taught to fear them, to see them as the invaders who had taken over what once belonged to humans. The idea of understanding or even coexisting with them was a foreign and unwelcome concept in your mind.
Or so you thought.
When the dam exploded and the water rushed in, Mae life you to fend for yourself. Your escape from the flooding vault was a harrowing ordeal, the water rushing in and threatening to consume you. In the chaotic moment, you slipped from the hold you had, falling into the churning depths below, seemingly destined to perish. But then, like an unexpected lifeline, a strong hand grasped your own, pulling you upwards and away from the dangerous current. It was Noa, his grip steady and sure, who had saved you from certain drowning. “I have you.” You still remember his words. No doubt about them.
As you sit alone in your hut, the reality of your current situation sinks in. The very concepts of wrong and right have been turned on their head. Everything you were taught, the doctrines of fearing and hating the apes, seem foreign now. You are now living amongst them, coexisting and interacting with them every day. The realization is both liberating and confusing, a swirling mix of emotions that leaves you questioning everything you once believed to be true.
These creatures, the very beings you had been taught to fear and distrust, have shown nothing but care and kindness towards you. The realization leaves you with a sense of unease, a nagging sensation that everything you had been taught was a lie.
Time had passed, and your life within the eagle clan had become a comfortable and familiar routine. The elders treated you with respect, recognizing your intelligence and resourcefulness. Meanwhile, the younger members of the clan were drawn to your human ways, finding joy in the playful games and activities you brought to their lives. You had found a place for yourself among them, your presence accepted with openness and curiosity.
Noa observes from a distance as you interact with the young apes, a soft smile on his face. There's a gentle affection in his gaze as he takes in the sight of you laughing and playing with the children of his kind. He watches the way you engage with them, effortlessly switching between human and ape gestures and mannerisms. It's a sight that fills him with a mixture of warmth and wonder.
In the countless interactions he had with you, Noa discovered that he was beginning to distinguish your individuality from the collective whole of human society. Your openness and willingness to share your knowledge and experiences intrigued him, sparking a deeper fascination. He found himself not just interested in the history and culture of humans, but more specifically, in the intricacies of you as a person. He longed to understand the nuances of your thoughts, feelings, and perspectives in ways that extended beyond the general human experience. This new fascination both excited and puzzled him.
“You are staring… again.” Anaya teases Noa as they sit together, their duties done for the day. Noa snaps out of his thoughts, realizing that he's been caught once again staring at you. He looks away, a hint of embarrassment in his eyes. "I was not staring… I am watching," he mutters, defensively.
Anaya shoots him a knowing smile, a sly glimmer in her eyes. "Oh, just… watching, hm?" she replies, her tone playful. "You do that lot." Noa huffs, “Echo is here to help teach. I watch. I learn.” Anaya laughs, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "You tell yourself that, Noa," he teases, clearly not buying his excuse. "We both know… something more than just watching and learning.”
Noa struggles to deny the truth, his efforts to repress his feelings proving futile. No matter how much he tries to push them aside, they keep returning with a constant insistence. Every time he looks at you, every time he hears your laughter, the feelings only grow stronger and more intense.
You make a swift escape from the energetic young apes, seeking shelter behind Noa. You giggle, breathless and flushed, your body pressed lightly against his as you use him as a shield. “Help me.” You beg Noa.
The young apes follow you with quick steps, their playful energy undiminished. They spot you behind Noa, their eyes lighting up with excitement as they close the distance. Noa stands his ground, attempting to block the young ones from reaching you. Noa grins at the young apes, his tone playful yet authoritative. "Go on," he says, coaxing the young ones to leave you be. "You have all played with her all evening…Let her rest." The young apes begrudgingly obey his words, their disappointment at their game being cut short obvious, though they reluctantly disperse, off to find other mischief.
You come to sit beside Noa. Resting your head on his shoulder. “Thanks.” You say with a laugh. “They’ve had me running everywhere!” Noa chuckles softly, your head resting on his shoulder sending a surge of warmth through him. "I saw," he responds with a smirk. "Young ones have a lot of energy. Could hear you running around from here."
As Soona takes her seat next to Noa, you reluctantly remove your head from his shoulder, feeling a pang of disappointment as you do. Over the seasons, your feelings for Noa have grown into a full-blown crush. Every moment with him is both thrilling and agonizing, as you struggle to keep your emotions reigned in. But you were not blind, he had such a beautiful bond with Soona. They were sure to find their way to each other one way or another. You wouldn’t stand in the way of that. You couldn't for Noa would not have a human as a mate, as the clan's mother. It was not right.
The sun starts to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the village. The air is filled with the hustle and bustle of the clan preparing for the evening. With a final glance at Noa, Anaya, and Soona, you rise from your seat. "I should head back to my hut. I'll see you tomorrow."
Noa's gaze follows you as you walk away, disappearing into the small hut he spent countless days constructing to ensure your comfort. He lets out a soft sigh, a mixture of resignation and longing etched across his features. The thought of spending his nights in that very hut, with you, is a tempting fantasy that he can't quite shake off.
“Echo is going hunting… with Khan tomorrow,” Soona says as she watches her friend's eyes stuck on your hut. Both Anaya and Soona could tell Noa felt something for you.
Noa's gaze is still fixed on your hut as Soona's words reach his ears. He turns to face her, a hint of surprise in his expression. "Hunting... with Khan?" he echoes, his mind momentarily distracted from his thoughts. Anaya and Soona share a knowing look, their observant eyes picking up on the subtle indicators of Noa's feelings without him even realizing.
Noa's eyes narrow slightly, a flicker of confusion and perhaps the slightest hint of jealousy in his gaze. "Why would she go hunting with Khan?" he wonders aloud. "She's always hunts with me..." Anaya and Soona exchange a glance, both silently recognizing Noa's unspoken emotions for you. If they could only get him to stop being so stubborn.
It's Anaya who breaks the silence, her voice gentle but pointed. "Perhaps Echo wants a change of pace," he suggests, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Maybe wanted to spend time with other apes… not just Noa.”
Noa lets out an exasperated sigh, rolling his eyes at the suggestion. He retorts, his tone a mix of annoyance and growing suspicion. "She knows all of the clan. There's not an ape who does not enjoy her company…Why would she want to hunt with Khan…of all apes?"
Anaya smirks, “Noa is jealous.” He is quickly smacked by Soona with a disappointed glare. "Jealous?" Noa scoffs, attempting to backtrack, his denial not as convincing as he'd like. "not jealous... I do not understand why Echo… would choose to go hunting with Khan… instead of me." Khan, while a decent hunter, paled in comparison to Noa's own skills. Noa knew, deep down, that he could provide you with everything Khan couldn't. The realization only serves to fuel his growing jealousy.
You step out of your hut, greeting the morning with a weary smile. The dawn light filters through the trees, casting a faint glow on your face. A sense of anticipation mixes with exhaustion in your expression, the upcoming hunting trip adding to your weariness but also sparking a hint of excitement.
You make your way through the village, exchanging warm greetings with the apes you pass along the way. As you approach Dar, you come to a stop, a friendly smile on your face. "Good morning, Dar," you say, your voice still tinged with a hint of sleepiness. Dar, as usual, embarrasses you with the fond gesture, her forehead touching yours in a warm greeting. Despite the early hour and your half-awake state, you can't help but smile at her affection.
As you look around the area, a hint of disappointment crosses your features when you don't spot Noa among the apes. You had hoped to catch a glimpse of him before departing on the hunting trip, but it seems he's nowhere to be found.
You turn your gaze to Dar, curiosity and a hint of disappointment in your voice. "Where is Noa?" Dar cocks her head to the side, her eyes scanning the surroundings. "Noa?" she muses. "He was here earlier… was packing for trip.” Your brows furrow but brush it off just as quickly.
You head towards the horses, your mind still preoccupied with thoughts of where Noa might be. As you approach, you spot Khan, diligently preparing his own horse for the upcoming hunting trip.
“Almost ready?”
Khan looks up from what he's doing, a confident smile on his lips. "Almost ready," he responds, his tone assured. "Just a few… adjustments.” He pats the side of the horse, his hand gently grazing its neck in a soothing gesture.
Khan had always been kind to you, a friendly presence in the clan. He would often bring small collections of berries to you and offer his help with gentle gestures. In many ways, he was a good ape, and you found yourself drawn to his affable demeanor. But deep down, you knew that your heart longed for Noa, and as much as you wanted to move on, it wasn't as easy as flipping a switch.
As you're about to mount Khan's horse and feel his touch on your lower back, a familiar voice cuts through the air, making you pause. You turn around to find Noa, sitting atop his horse and looking at you both with a steady gaze. "Care if I join?" he asks, a determined, almost smug expression on his face.
You smile at him and walk a step close to him. Simply drawn to his form. “Noa!”
Noa smiles back at you, his eyes locking onto your form as you move slightly closer to him. Your voice, saying his name, ignites a flicker of warmth within him.
Khan, his expression neutral, considers Noa's request. "Why do you want to come?" he asks, a hint of suspicion in his tone. The two had never been close, simply acquaintances. Noa's gaze is firm as he locks eyes with Khan, his voice carrying a hint of bitter determination. "As the leader… it's my duty to provide for the clan," he responds, emphasizing his role and responsibility.
Khan, choosing not to test Noa's leadership, simply nods in acknowledgment. He extends his hand towards you, silently offering to help you mount his horse. Noa's hand quickly finds your arm, pulling you towards his horse with a firm but gentle grip. "Ride with me," he states, his voice matter-of-fact. He steadies you as you find your balance on the shared saddle, a silent act of declaration.
Riding together wasn't an unusual sight in the clan, but there was something different about this time. There was a sense of forcefulness in Noa's actions, as if he was intentionally asserting his presence, making it clear that he was there, right behind you. As to where Khan was merely feet away, alone, on his horse.
Khan dismounts from his horse and crouches down to observe the tracks on the ground. He carefully studies the marks left behind, his eyes focused and analytical. You slide off Noa's horse and move closer to Khan, crouching down to observe the tracks that have caught his attention. Pointing forward towards the lush forest, you indicate the direction you believe the prints lead to. "This way," you suggest, your voice certain and sure.
Noa, his leadership instincts in full display, takes the lead without a word, striding ahead with an air of determination. He doesn't need to speak; his body language and actions alone convey his confidence and authority. Khan, watching from behind, cannot help but silently scoff at Noa's behavior. It's clear to him that Noa is attempting to assert his dominance, trying to outshine Khan in every possible way.
Khan, determined not to be overshadowed by Noa, moves to walk alongside him, maintaining a similar stance and speed. He doesn't say anything, but his body language indicates that he refuses to be dominated or intimidated.
You trail slightly behind Noa and Khan, your attention solely focused on the tracks ahead of you. You move with purpose, your eyes fixed on the ground beneath you, following the trail that leads deeper into the lush forest. You follow the trail in silence, Noa and Khan side by side. The forest is alive with the soft rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of birds.
Suddenly, a faint sound, a squeal, reaches your ears. It's soft, distant, but undeniably out of place. Noa's ears twitch, expression furrowing in concentration as he picks up on the noise too.
All three of you freeze, your focus shifting to the bushes that had rustled. Noa's sharp eyes zero in on the movement, and he points, a tense whisper breaking the silence. "There!" Khan and Noa immediately sprint through the trees, their trained hunter instincts kicked into gear. They move with incredible speed, their bodies weaving through the forest with ease. The chase is on.
You reach Noa and Khan, your breath slightly labored, just in time to see the two warriors cornering a wild, enraged bore. Its tusks are blood-stained and its eyes burn with fury. The beast is trapped, but it isn't giving up without a fight.
Khan strikes the first blow, his determination to prove himself driving his actions. However, his effort is met with a swift and brutal response from the hog. It charges at him with a ferocious speed, easily brushing off his spear attack as if it was mere child's play.
As Khan cries out in pain and the wild hog continues its relentless attack, you instinctively move forwards to aiding him. However, Noa swiftly grabs your arm, preventing you from getting closer. Noa bides his time, waiting for the right moment, before springing into action to assist Khan. He cautiously approaches the fight, assessing the situation and finding the perfect opening to join the battle.
Noa waits until the boar raises up on its hind legs, preparing to plunge its tusks into Khan. Then, with a swift and fearless move, he throws his spear, aiming it perfectly into the beast. The spear pierces the boar's flesh, and the two start to fight, a fierce struggle unfolding between Noa and the wild animal.
While Khan had been easily overpowered by the boar, Noa was a different story. His strength and agility were much greater, and he managed to stay on top of the hog, struggling fiercely with the enraged beast. Noa, being the skilled hunter that he was, quickly put an end to the animal's suffering. He used his superior skill and strength to overpower and subdue the boar, bringing the fight to a swift conclusion.
Noa, his pride inflated after his successful defeat of the boar, turns around, expecting to find you watching him with admiration and respect. Instead, he sees you by Khan's side, inspecting his injuries with concern. The sight of you tending to the wounded ape triggers a pang of jealousy in Noa.
Khan sits on the forest floor, his expression a mixture of shock and anger. Had his leader really just allowed him to be mangled on purpose? He meets Noa's gaze with an intensity that borders on hostility. The two males lock eyes, the tension palpable between them.
You glance nervously between the two apes, your eyes darting back and forth as the tension between them builds. The air is thick with animosity, and you can feel the hostile energy radiating from both Noa and Khan.
Khan's words are sharp and accusatory as he looks directly at Noa. "You should have helped." The accusation hangs in the air, and you can feel the tension grow even thicker. Noa bristles at the comment, his expression clouding with irritation. Noa, his pride wounded by Khan's accusation, responds with a biting retort. "You could have more hunting skills," he shoots back, his tone laced with sarcasm. The two apes are locked in a battle of wits and male egos now.
You step forward and raise your hands in a gesture of peace, trying to diffuse the growing tension. "Okay, let's just all calm down," you say, your voice steady and calming. You turn to Noa, confusion evident in your eyes, wondering why he's behaving this way. His actions are so unlike him, and it concerns you deeply.
You assist Khan in getting back onto his horse, your touch gentle and supportive. Meanwhile, Noa remains behind, diligently tying the dead bore to the horse to transport it back to the clan. He's eager for the praises he expects to receive from the clan. Tries to push forward a civil expression. However, his emotions betray him and a deeper feeling - jealousy, fueled by his possessive and ego-driven behavior plants in his chest.
You assist Khan in getting back to his horse, your touch gentle and supportive. Meanwhile, Noa remains behind, diligently tying the dead bore to the horse to transport it back to the clan. He's likely eager for the praises he expects to receive from the clan mates. However, his expression betrays a deeper feeling - jealousy, fueled by his possessive and ego-driven behavior.
You look at Khan with concerned eyes, a worried furrow in your brow. "Are you sure you can make it back on your own?" you ask, clearly concerned for his well-being. Khan looks past you, his gaze lingering on Noa for a moment, likely noticing the displeasure on his face. He nods, responding to your query with a determined tone. "Yes… I will make it… it is not far." Despite his injury, Khan seems confident that he can make it back to the clan on his own.
You turn to face Noa, your eyes meeting his in a silent exchange. Khan, still suffering from his injury, rides off slowly and gingerly holds his wound. The air is filled with an uncomfortable silence. Noa expertly tightens the latch on the bore, ensuring it's secure and won't fall off during the journey back to the clan. His hands work with precision, and he seems focused on the task at hand, avoiding your gaze.
You stand behind Noa, your presence silent but palpable. When he turns to see you there, he huffs in annoyance. "You're still here." Your reply is brief and puzzled. "Yeah?" Noa's shoulders hitch as he speaks, his chest heaving with an undertone of jealousy. "Thought you would go back to the clan... with Khan," he reiterates, a hint of possessiveness in his voice.
You're surprised by Noa's possessive and jealous tone. This isn't the first time you've done things with Khan, but it is the first time Noa has witnessed it. You shake your head softly, your expression a mix of confusion and frustration. You respond with a hint of sarcasm and a raise of your brow. "Am I not allowed to have other friends, Noa?" Your irritation is evident as you scoffs at his behavior, challenging his possessive attitude.
Noa's gaze drops to the ground, and he mutters under his breath, sounding bitter and resentful. "Friends..." He clearly has doubts about the nature of your relationship with Khan.
You're absolutely stunned by Noa's bitter words and the tone he's using. You ask in a bewildered tone, "What are you talking about?" You're completely taken aback by his sudden display of jealousy and possessiveness. Noa's voice is firm as he turns to face you fully, his eyes locked on yours. "You and Khan...are not good for… mates," he asserts, his tone filled with possessiveness. "He can not protect you…He can not provide what you need to survive…" His words hang in the air, each one dripping with jealousy and resentment.
You're puzzled by his words and his intense focus on your relationship with Khan. Why did Noa care about who you chose as your mate? The possessive and jealous behavior was quite unexpected and out of character. It left you wondering what was really going on inside his head.
You decide to test him, playing along with the idea. "Why not?" you say with a hint of confidence. "He seems like a good choice." Your words are meant to provoke a reaction from Noa, to see if he's truly as possessive and jealous as he appears to be.
Noa's eyes burn brighter with intense jealousy, his words spilling out in a venomous tone. "Khan is weak...can not do everything...I can do." His stance is rigid, his pride wounded by the idea of you choosing anyone other than him. You meet his gaze, your expression filled with a mix of confusion and skepticism. "You?" you ask, your tone almost challenging.
Noa's demeanor is defensive, his jealousy and possessiveness bubbling just beneath the surface. He takes a step closer to you, his chest heaving with each breath. Noa, his anger and jealousy reaching a boiling point, yells out confidently, "I can do anything better than he can." He practically spits the words, clearly consumed by his intense feelings of possessiveness and superiority.
You can't help but feel amused as a smile slowly spreads across your face. Seeing Noa all worked up and jealous over the idea of you being with someone else was oddly entertaining. You fix your gaze on him, a hint of amusement in your eyes. "Noa?" you ask with a smirk, "are you jealous?" Your question hangs in the air, and Noa hesitates for a moment before responding, trying to mask his true feelings, but failing miserably. Your laughter breaks the tense silence. "Well looks like Anaya was right," you say, a hint of mockery in your voice. Noa's reaction to your words confirms your suspicions, and you're enjoying every second of it.
Noa's expression quickly changes from anger to surprise as you mention his friend Anaya. "Anaya?" he parrots, his tone laced with surprise and disbelief. You continue, saying that Anaya had warned you about him getting jealous, but you hadn't believed it. Noa's confidence wavers as he processes this new information, his jealousy now exposed.
Noa's shoulders sag, clearly embarrassed that his jealousy is out in the open now. He huffs, his expression a mix of irritation and vulnerability. After a moment, he looks at you, his eyes betraying the truth. "Fine, I'm jealous. Happy now?" Noa's tone is laced with a hint of defeat, his pride taking a hit.
You step closer to Noa, your touch gentle as you grab onto his arm. Your voice is softer, no longer teasing. "You shouldn't be," you say, looking into his eyes with a hint of kindness. Noa's gaze drifts away, avoiding yours as he asks, "Why?" His voice is laced with vulnerability and a hint of self-doubt. He's struggling to come to terms with his own feelings, and your words and actions have stirred something within him.
Noa's eyes meet yours as you gently turn his face back towards you. The words you utter, "Because, I like you, Noa," hang in the air, and you can see a mixture of surprise and relief wash over his features. His jealousy seems to melt away, replaced by a softness and vulnerability that was previously hidden.
Noa's eyes widen in surprise as he asks, "What?" He had been so blinded by his jealousy and possessiveness that he hadn't expected to hear those words from you. It was as if his mind was trying to process the reality of your admission. “Was I not clear enough? Who else do I lean on during dinner? Who else do I spend time with?"
Noa's expression turns from shock to a mixture of realization and mild embarrassment. ou can practically see the pieces coming together in his mind. Yes, he had been blind to your actions, but now they were so obvious. The subtle cues, the time spent together - all signs pointing towards your affection for him.
Noa sees the truth in your eyes, the admission of your feelings. "You like… me..." he says softly, his voice filled with disbelief and a hint of relief. The realization slowly settles in, and a mixture of emotions washes over him. There's a hint of surprise, a hint of relief, and above all, a growing affection. He looks at you, his eyes searching your face for any sign that this was all just a cruel joke. But he finds none. You genuinely like him, and the thought makes his heart race. You shrug, “I thought you’d never find an echo… suitable. I figured Soona would be your mate.”
Noa's eyes widen at your words, the mention of Soona bringing back a rush of memories. "Soona?" he asks, his voice tinged with surprise. He'd had a great bond with Soona but had never considered her as a potential mate. More as a sibling.
As his emotions at the surface, he quickly reached for you. He pulls you into his arms, and your foreheads touch in a gesture of deep connection. It's a moment filled with tenderness and intensity as he holds you close, the weight of his affection and relief pouring out through this intimate embrace.
Noa's resolve solidifies, and his grip on you tightens. The thought of you being his, and the whole clan knowing, gives him a sense of possessive pride.

Chapter 11: Together Strong
Noa
By the time he had finished, remembering as much as he could about her year as a pet, he felt worse than he had before. His fists were clenched so tightly now, that the object in his hand had started to cut into his skin. As he spoke, Soona and Anaya listened quietly, their eyes speaking volumes about what they were feeling. During his time searching for his clan, Soona and Anaya had been prisoners of Proximus. He knew nothing but freedom, they on the other hand, knew what it meant to be caged. What had been a few days for them, in slightly better conditions, had been a year for their Echo. He could only imagine the way she felt, but Soona and Anaya could understand.
Soona spoke first, breaking the momentary silence, “Explains…much.”
He nodded, eyes glancing over to see Anaya returned to his hunched position, his right hand outstretched in front of him. His Sunset Brother was quiet, only staring at his open palm. He did not understand why. Again, for Anaya to be so silent, worried him. He hooted a few times, attempting to get Anaya’s attention, but he just closed his eyes, head bowing. Another moment passed before Anaya sighed deeply through his nose, palm clenching suddenly into a closed fist.
“Wrong,” Anaya murmured. Soona’s head turned, looking towards Anaya in silent support. She carefully placed her hand on his shoulder, Anaya’s hand coming up in a quick motion to hold hers there. It was a surprising and strangely intimate moment between them, though Anaya would not look at her. He refused to look at either of them, actually. Anaya was working through something, and he knew it…he just did not know what it was.
He felt himself tilt his head in observation of his Sunset Brother, who never thought about his words or actions. He lived his life unburdened, as if he were still a youngling, something even Proximus had been unable to steal from him. Now, he noticed a different side to him, that perhaps was always there, and he had just never been able to see it. Or, there had just never been moments like this for him to show it. Anaya was thinking, deeply, fist slowly unclenching as he made a decision. Anaya gently released Soona’s hand, standing to his full height.
The three of them had moved to the floor of the tower as the weight of their Echo’s story threatened to overwhelm all of them. Each time he thought he could not go on, they would sit and wait patiently for him to continue. Now, as Anaya stood, he rose to join him, noticing his Sunset Brother’s posture was taller than he had ever seen him. The curve to his shoulders was gone, his slightly arched back perfectly straight. This was not on accident, as Anaya turned, his teeth were bared at him. “You should have…told us…you were wrong…you are wrong Noa.”
His stance and words were a surprise, but he already fought one friend today, he could not fight another. He would not. He did not bow, but he did not bare his teeth in return. He nodded, “I was wrong…was worried…the elders-”
“Elders!” Anaya interrupted with a growl. “Elders…are not you…are not Master of Birds…you lead…us…not…them.”
Soona hooted in agreement, “You do not…have to listen…to them Noa.”
He huffed, stepping away and turning his back to his united siblings, arguing, “To ignore their wisdom…ignore their guidance…to put an Echo above the Clan…would make me…a terrible leader.”
“Do you…feel like a good leader…now?” Anaya challenged.
That stopped him. He could not move, the gravity of the question binding him to the very wood beneath his feet. He did not feel like a good leader…then again he never did. He had no experience, no training, and no choice. After Proximus, every member of the clan bowed to him, the one who never once bowed to the tyrant king. It was unexpected, but the elders agreed Noa was the only suitable ape to take up the mantle once they returned home. Apes of course, always sought the strongest branch, sought the strongest ape to lead the clan. He had set himself apart, and inadvertently hurled himself up in rank. His bloodline did nothing but solidify the Clan’s choice as well. Koro’s son, son of the Master of Birds, his rightful successor.
He swallowed the collection of saliva that had rapidly gathered in his mouth, turning again to face Anaya and Soona. He wanted to speak, but could not form the words as he stood there. He could not confess his true fears, confess what he had been trying so hard to deny and hide. He was not the leader everyone wanted him to be. He was jumbled, unsure of himself and how to move forward. He adopted Caesar’s beliefs because he knew that he could never go back to how narrowly he viewed the world around him before. Life was more complicated than that. Ape and humans, were more complicated than that. Caesar knew this, understood it, and he was only starting to learn about it.
He would never be his father, he could not be. Koro was content to leave things as they were, iron faith placed in their traditions and way of life. Not him, he wanted more- yearned to know more. He could not be a leader like Caesar, a leader of legend that spanned generations, always sure of himself and his place in the world. He doubted himself all the time, and ever since meeting their Echo, it only became worse. He only knew how to be himself, trust his instincts and mind to guide him.
Now, those instincts told him to do one thing, while his mind argued the exact opposite. His earlier argument was proof of his inability to understand like Caesar, or to be loyal like his father. He felt his thumb absentmindedly rub against the object in his hand as he processed his own thoughts. It felt oddly freeing, finally allowing himself to admit what he had denied for so long. The weight was still there, but it seemed more manageable with the truth fully acknowledged.
He locked eyes with Anaya then, who waited patiently for him to speak. The truth seemed to be the answer to his struggle, so perhaps that was the only thing he could say now that would make sense. “I do not…know how to be…what everyone needs…me to be.”
Soona’s eyes widened a fraction, glancing between the two males in front of her. Anaya covered his teeth, voice returning to the familiar tone he had grown up with, though his stance did not change as he explained, “Anaya has been with you…since the day of our birth…will be here…until the day one of us…no longer breathes…you only need…to be yourself…not Master of Birds…not Eagle Clan leader…just Noa.”
He avoided Anaya’s eyes then, suddenly feeling unworthy of his Sunset Brother’s loyalty. That’s when he noticed the object clasped tightly in his hand. It was the crown he had made. Had he been holding it this entire time? It was warm from his touch, so he must have been. Even running after Anaya, he held carried it as reverently and carefully as he would have an egg…up hill and into the Eagle enclosure. During his retelling of their Echo’s story, he had been holding it like a youngling’s favorite toy, clutching it tightly to his chest and allowing it to comfort him.
Anaya moved towards him, his gait confident as he gripped Noa’s arm, the one holding the crown. He raised it to be eye level with both of them, Anaya glancing at the gift before shifting his focus back to him. “Brother…friend…builder…crafter…thinker…clever ape…be those things…that is all…we need…was enough before…is enough…now…be Noa.”
He felt the breath release from his chest, Anaya’s words striking at the bad thoughts in his mind like he would a boar. He needed that reminder, no matter how challenging it had been to accept. Anaya believing in him as he was, it gave him the strength he needed to think about the future. To think about how he would fix things with their Echo. Until then, he clasped Anaya’s arm, pulling him in to brush foreheads. He felt Anaya’s other hand come up to pat him on the back, Soona soon joining them in their reconciliation. She hugged Anaya from behind, the weight of both of them knocking him back a step before he caught his balance.
Soona raised an arm over Anaya’s shoulder to brush her knuckles against his temple, blowing a raspberry before agreeing, “Apes together…strong…we are…with you…Noa.”
He nodded, “Will try…to be worthy…of your loyalty…will try…to earn Echo…forgiveness.”
The moment was broken suddenly when Anaya sniffed loudly, gently brushing Soona off of him and taking a few steps towards the open archway. He stopped, turning to ask, “Noa…what is…human word…Mae taught you?”
He was confused. Then the familiar scents hit his own nose, followed by the sound of creaking wood, as many apes made their way to Eagle tower. He felt his muscles tense, the hair along his hackles threatening to rise, “Shit.”
“Yes,” Anaya said, nodding rapidly as his gaze remained on the open arch. “That is the word.”
Soona arched up onto her toes to see the five bodies rounding the corner. She made haste to pull Anaya to the side, calling, “We will…be here…silent.”
His nose wrinkled at the thought, but he remained in place as the elders entered, looking displeased. He huffed once, greeting them with respect, “Elder Luna…Elder Tane…Elder Bhai…Elder Asani…Elder Moros.”
Each elder bowed their head to Noa as he addressed them. Elder Moros stepped forward amongst the five, the one elected to speak on their behalf. The rest of the elders descended to the floor, and Noa followed Moros as he chose to seat himself as well. He respected their need to sit and rest at their age. Elder Luna turned her head, spotting Soona and Anaya off to the side, nodding her head once and raising a hand discreetly in greeting. Soona returned the gesture nervously, before going completely still.
Elder Moros huffed, “There was talk of…a great disturbance…in the village…one the Master of Birds…quickly moved to the…Eagle Tower.”
He saw Anaya shrink next the Soona, shoulders once more taking on that familiar curve as she attempted to comfort him. He avoided staring too long, not wanting to alert the elders of their presence just yet. Instead he hummed, “Yes.”
Elder Moros raised his brows, “I hope it has been…dealt with…there were whispers…it was about…an Echo…your Echo?”
He raised his head a little higher, “It was…the matter is finished…but the Echo…she is not…here.”
There were disturbed hoots from several of the elders behind Elder Moros, who sniffed, “We believed…Echo would show…today…Eagle Sun was seen…returning without you…so the village…could prepare…was this untrue?”
He felt his hackles begin to rise, and with a curled fist he confessed, “It was not…I brought her…to the edge of the village…but she ran.”
More whispers and hoots from the elders, Elder Luna the only one to remain silent before Elder Moros raised his hand to command quiet. “Echo…ran…this is unusual…concerning…I must insist once more…you give up this pursuit…of the first elder…and leave this Echo…to be chased away…least she bring…destruction upon us…as the last one did.”
“His name was Caesar!” Anaya snapped as he stepped forward, Soona tugging at his arm in a useless attempt to stop him. “And this Echo should be of no more concern to you…than a butterfly…she does not deserve to be chased away…she is kind, and true, and has taught us much since…since meeting her…we…we know more….and she…she is not dangerous father…E-Elder Moros.”
Anaya’s speech began to slow and lose its authority as Elder Moros stood. The slip in title caused a spike of fear to trail up his own spine. Anaya’s father, Elder Moros, did not claim him often as his son, though it was true. His mate was older, much like Moros himself, when Anaya was conceived. The pregnancy was a surprise that went well enough, as the previous ones had, but there were complications after birth due to her age. She died before a full lunar cycle had passed, and Elder Moros wanted nothing to do with the youngling that he believed caused the death of his mate.
That was another reason the three of them had been inseparable. Moros and Koro had been lifelong friends, and while Koro did not condone the treatment of Anaya by his father, he knew the only thing he could do was take in the abandoned chimp and hope Moros would eventually see reason. Dar, and Soona’s mother Lyra, had taken turns nursing him as a baby, and they were raised as brothers under Dar’s care. Moros had been fine with this arrangement, occasionally acknowledging Anaya as they grew together, but more often than not keeping his distance and focusing on his duties within the clan.
In all that time, he had never seen Anaya say more than a few words to Elder Moros, let alone speak against him. His father took a few steps towards Anaya, forcing his son to bow his head in a clear show of respect. Anaya held his arm out to push back and shield Soona from his father’s potential ire. Elder Moros was indifferent as he spoke, “I see you are still…causing a disturbance…regarding this echo…if she wants to run…we should let her run…dangerous or not.”
He saw Anaya bare his teeth then, brows furrowing as he pushed back from the alcove, standing straight once more, fully concealing Soona’s form in the process. “She is scared…she is true Echo…she accepts and cares…for apes…who treat her…with respect.”
“What respect…does an Echo deserve?” Elder Moros snarled. “You speak of respect…yet you should not…be here…you are not welcome…among the Elders.”
Anaya lowered his head again, hurt swirling in his eyes. Elder Moros scoffed at Anaya, clearly satisfied with himself and Anaya’s submission, but the words and actions crossed a line with him. A line he would not abide. He stepped in between the two, chest to chest with Elder Moros, who took a large step back as he surged forward. “He is welcome…maybe not by elders…but Anaya and Soona both …are welcome among…the Master of Birds.”
One hand reached for Anaya, the other for Soona, guiding them by the shoulders to his spot in the center of the room, facing the elders. He placed Anaya to his right, and Soona to his left. Anaya faced Elder Asani, and Soona faced Elder Luna, who could not hide a smile upon noticing that his Sunset Brother and Sister were being forcibly recognized. Elder Moros looked shocked and somewhat unsettled. Good. He did not spare him a second glance, announcing, “I will no longer hear words…regarding the Echo and her…strange behavior…she will be met when…or if…she ever decides to enter the village…of her own free will…I have spoken with her…on many occasions…have learned from her…have much respect for her…will not let apes who do not…speak of her intent…I trust her…that is the end.”
Elder Moros huffed, “You trust other Echo…and she killed many apes…selfish in her own…pursuit of freedom.”
“She was not selfish,” Soona challenged, surprising everyone present. “She was forced to act…to do what she thought…best…Proximus was the threat…and that was without…the human weapons…she possessed.”
“Such loyalty…to a dishonorable…Echo,” Elder Moros spat, teeth slightly visible. “Do you not remember…your own mother was swept away…by her ex-plo-sion weapon?”
“I do remember,” Soona replied calmly. “I also recall my father…beaten and killed by Proximus apes…starving and too weak to fight back…I remember…Mae saved my life…saved our lives…killing another human…to protect us…to free us…you can not…call her selfish…while I breathe.”
This shocked even him. They never spoke about the flood, of Mae’s betrayal while they all fought to survive against the incoming water. Soona always seemed as though she did not care for Mae, but apparently there were more complex feelings for the human than Soona had let on. She was not alone apparently, Anaya arguing, “She did more…to free us…to free Eagle Clan...without apes dying…but Proximus…smarter…no other way…to stop him.”
“Noa stopped…Proximus.” Elder Asani spoke from behind Elder Moros.
He shook his head sadly, “I planned…to flood the vault…lead clan away from kingdom…while Proximus was distracted…it did not happen…as we planned.”
This surprised many elders, a harsh silence engulfing the group. Much like the elders of the past, they did not ask questions about that day in Proximus’ kingdom. They did not want to know. Their desire to return home, to forget what they had experienced, had caught up with them. They could not argue against the truth, which they had chosen to ignore. Elder Moros would not be deterred it seemed, snarling, “It was still…the Echo’s fault…she chose herself…over the many…Echos can not be trusted...this is why for many generations…we chase…the pests away.”
The loud hiss to his right made him jump, Anaya pushing himself forward onto his knees as he growled, “She is not…a pest…does not deserve…to be called one.”
“You dare speak…on what this Echo…does not deserve!” Elder Moros accused. He had never personally heard the elder raise his voice before, feeling the tension in the room grow now, as father and son were suddenly face to face, inches apart. “You have spent…time with her…so speak true…what does this secretive Echo deserve…from apes of the Eagle Clan?”
Anaya did not hesitate, eyes unblinking and lips firmly over his teeth as he gritted out, “Your…respect.”
Elder Moros sniffed, leaning back into his sitting position and turning away from Anaya, “You have…more of my respect…than Echo pest ever will.”
“Enough!”
The room shook from the resounding vibrations of the shout, the few eagles within the sanctuary screeching and taking flight to find their bonded-ape within the village. The quiet and stillness that followed made him uneasy, but when he noticed all eyes were on him, he realized the shout had come from him. He was standing now, towering over the others as they all bowed their heads. Elder Moros, while reluctant, also bowed his head, keeping his gaze on the floor below him.
Soona was the first to raise her head, gaze finding his and silently questioning if he was alright. He gave a single nod, breathing harshly once through his nose to clear his mind. This is exactly what he had tried to prevent. Their Echo knew…she knew all along. Apes would not accept her just because he said so, apes like Elder Moros would also find fault with her simply for being an Echo. Still, he would not give up. Anaya was right, she deserved more than this.
He would not let his Clan become like them.
“Hear me now,” he began, waiting for all heads to raise. When he had their attention, he continued, “This Echo is not a threat…not a danger to the clan…she is…more…she is as first elder was…she teaches about fairness…kindness…equality…and humanity…something that has been dying…from her race.”
“What is…humanity?” Elder Tane asked.
He was not sure how to answer that. He only knew what it was, because he knew their Echo. She was humanity, the best of all qualities found in her species. He opened his mouth, words ready to tumble forth, when his gaze shifted to a bowl resting on a table to his left. All thoughts ceased. His attention was caught by bright red berry and sap mixture they used to create nest binding. His brows creased and lips pursed as he carefully scooped up the bowl, an idea forming in his mind. He paced over to the nearby wall, grunting once as he explained, “Humanity…is complicated…it means many things…from what I have learned…sometimes it is about…doing what is right…when right seems wrong…showing kindness…when kindness has not been shown to you.”
There were confused looks from a few, but he knew they were listening. Soona smiled at him, nodding her head once, urging him to keep going. He dipped his fingers in the bowl, careful not to drip the red mixture as he pulled them out. He looked to the wood in front of him, gliding his fingers in long arcs across the smooth surface. He quickly swiped left to right, right to left, to create the diamond in the center of a larger circle. Below the circle, he was about to write an A, but stopped himself just before his fingers made contact with the wood. He pulled his hand back quickly to hover over the bowl, wondering why he was hesitating now.
Then, he remembered Raka’s words. His voice was loud in his head. His words not so different from Caesar…but more evolved. He continued writing, speaking to the apes at his back, “The symbols have meaning…and this is what…the Echo has taught me…what we have learned…since she…saved my life.”
He drew a long line underneath the words, only now realizing and hoping that he spelled it correctly. He turned, facing the stunned elders now. He found Soona’s gaze, nodding once as she read out, “T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R….S-T-R-O-N-G…”
“Together…strong,” he answered. “This is the…al-pha-bet…humans used symbols…to record…their history…to preserve…what they knew…we are learning…and we can learn more…they are not lesser…we are not better…only together…can we be…more.”
Elder Luna stood, shuffling towards where he stood. She traced several letters with her hand, looking forlornly at the wall before turning to him. “You expect much…Master of Birds…we are too old…to learn the ways of…hu-man-ity.”
He sighed through his nose, jaw slackening as he felt his hope sink. Elder Luna, ever full of surprises, turned back to the Elders present, “Does not mean…Eagle Clan can not learn…Master of Birds…can help them…evolve.”
“We should…discuss this,” Elder Moros argued. “That is what…elder council…is for.”
“It is clear,” Elder Luna huffed. “Master of Birds…does not need…our council…has…his own.”
Elder Luna gestured to Anaya and Soona, both appearing shocked, exchanging looks with each other, as she voiced her observation. Elder Bhai nodded his head, sniffing, “We are…not needed…seems…younglings have…outgrown…their elders.”
“We are allowing young ape…to make decisions for Eagle Clan?” Elder Moros challenged, “Ignoring…generations of…wisdom and tradition…Echo had this knowledge…yet they are…nearly gone…you think…ape will survive…from their ways…when they…could not?”
The elders began to mumble amongst themselves. He quickly stepped in, before Elder Moros’ words could cause an unnecessary rift, “Elders are still…needed…respected…Anaya and Soona are…my Caesar Council…they understand new ways…as I do…Elder Council knows…the old ways…we need both if the Clan…is to survive…from this point onward.”
Elder Luna hummed, “I agree…with Master of Birds…what say…the rest?”
There was a long stretch of silence, before Elder Asani let out a screech of approval. She repeated the sound, followed by Elder Luna. Elder Bhai seemed hesitant, but soon screeched as loudly as the other two. There was a steady chorus of repeating sounds, enough for Soona to feel confident adding her hooting to the fray. Elder Tane took some convincing, glancing between Elder Moros and the rest of the group. Elder Tane glanced his way, the eye contact sparking resolve within the ape. He stood, screeching the loudest and beating his chest with a closed fist.
This surprised him, a shocked gasp passing between his lips as he took a step back, the gift he made for their Echo still held tightly in his hand. Would she be proud of them for this? Would she join in with a yell of her own if she were here? He wanted that- in the future. He was suddenly overwhelmed with ideas of how she could make better the Eagle Clan, make better their home. He had to physically shake himself, trying to stay focused on the apes before him. Only two remained silent…well, half silent. Anaya was still seated, glaring his father down as he kept a thumping tempo, his fist steady on the floor. The harsh pounding of wood added to the overwhelming sound around the enclosure, and feeling the tension rise within the room, Anaya’s father finally relented.
Elder Moros leapt to his feet, screeching his solidarity with the rest of the elders. That’s all it took for the room to suddenly fall silent. He held his head high, nodding once and grunting his acknowledgment, eyes scanning over all present in the room. Elder Tane huffed, “We shall…leave…the Master of Birds…and his…Caesar Council.”
Elder Luna placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, giving a small pat before following the rest of the elders out. Elder Moros still did not seem pleased, but would not dare go against a council decision. Soona’s eyes kept darting between the retreating elders and himself, waiting a breath or two once they were gone before launching herself at him. She hooted happily, wrapping her arms around his shoulders while he clutched her tightly, howling his own amusement.
He expected a third to join them, to hit his right side and cause them all to nearly topple to the ground. When the blow never came, he searched his surroundings. He came up empty handed, even checking behind him. While Soona still celebrated, he breathed out, “Anaya…where…where Anaya?”
Soona seemed confused by his question, releasing him to mimic his previous action. She turned all the way in a circle, looking about the enclosure but coming to the same conclusion as him, “…Gone.”
He could not understand. Where would Anaya go? Why would he leave without speaking to him, or Soona. She looked more hurt by his disappearance than he was, shuffling over to the archway of the enclosure to look out into the clearing. He joined her, looking for the familiar hunched shoulders and swaying walk of his Sunset Brother. Perhaps it had to do with his father, knowing that the indifference, or disappointment, of one’s father could weigh heavily on an ape.
Soona’s cry pierced his thoughts as she pointed frantically towards the stables. There, carrying a torch as his horse passed the stables and galloped quickly into the forest, was Anaya. He grunted, huffing, “Dark soon…why…where would he…go?”
Soona hummed in thought, head swiveling left and right for a moment before her startled gaze locked on his, “Echo!”
His eyes widened, “He would not…so late.”
“You would…take that risk?” Soona argued, “He could…make it worse…dark…Echo is…sensitive…one or both…could get hurt.”
He sighed, agreeing, “Will bring him…home…do not…speak of this.”
Soona shook her head, “Never….please Noa…be careful.”
He nodded, hunching onto all fours to race down the enclosure. He noticed most apes were already at the communal bonfire, the smell of food temporarily distracting him. He shook himself, pacing towards his horse. Only Anaya could un-jumble him into accepting himself as leader, speaking with wisdom beyond his years, and then force him to chase and drag him home like a newborn. It would be humorous if it was not so troublesome. The longer his mind wandered, trying to reason where Anaya might go, the more he realized there was only one place he would go during sunset on horseback. The worst part, was that Anaya had a head start on him. He could only hope their Echo was shut-in her shelter for the night, and would refuse to acknowledge Anaya.
That thought suddenly made his stomach burn. Anaya cared a great deal about their Echo, and he did too. The thought of her ignoring him, leaving him alone outside wanting to speak with her…it brought a twinge of despair into his heart. It reminded him of his own problem. How would he approach her in the future? She would not stay mad forever. Could not.
He lifted himself onto the saddle of his horse, trying to be as discreet as possible, until he made it to the edge of the clearing. He reached forward, using his palm to trace a circle on his horse’s neck before patting it three times. The signal was well received, and once he made sure they were headed in the right direction, he dug his heels in and whipped the reigns. His horse took off in a full sprint towards the creek.
A flapping noise next to him caught his attention, finding Eagle Sun gliding alongside him. He was surprised, knowing he did not care for night flights. He must sense his own distress, wanting to go with him as a form of protection. The ride was never short, but with his mind racing with what he could possibly say, what he could potentially walk into…he had arrived far too soon. Eagle Sun glided to the top of the Echo’s stone structure, disappearing from sight. Again, he dismissed the bird’s actions, climbing down from his horse and tying the reigns to the usual branch. It was funny, that he had established a favored branch, realizing just how often he had come to their Echo’s home. A high pitched whine somewhere in the distance distracted him for a moment, but he ignored it in favor of finding Anaya.
He spotted his horse next to the entrance of the Echo’s home, but did not see Anaya or his torch. There was a small crack of space in the Echo’s door, but he could not fit himself through it. He could only smell the smoke from her fire and see the light reflecting inside. He pounded on the stone, calling their Echo’s name, hoping she would respond. He waited, but there was nothing. He thought for a moment he heard shuffling towards the door, hooting in delight, but when no one responded, he called her name again.
Eagle Sun returned then, soaring overhead and looping back towards the side of the rocks. He recalled the hole in the ground, her other entrance that he was not particularly fond of. Was she back there? Was Anaya? Perhaps she did not want to lift the rock so late…it would make sense to go the other way.
He was careful of his footing in the dark, shadows playing tricks amongst the rocks and causing him to stumble once. His suspicions were confirmed when he saw Anaya’s torch staked into the ground nearby. He rounded the corner, and what he found unleashed a storm of emotions within him.
Their Echo was laying on the ground, her entire body flush on the dirt. Her legs curled together, turned sideways to avoid the ape that was above her. Anaya was standing above her, crouched low on his haunches, with his hands buried in their Echo’s hair. Her own hands and arms were outstretched above her head, laying limply.
He was only distracted from the scene when she turned her face away from Anaya, to look directly at him. Her eyes were wet, like they had been that day in the library, and her face was light red. He did not know what was happening, or what her human features meant, but there was something he could see in her eyes that looked desperate. They were pleading, for what, he was not sure. Still, he did the only thing that made sense.
Following his instincts, he paced towards the two, growling, “Anaya!”
Said ape practically leapt away from the too still Echo, avoiding his gaze and bowing his head. He hooted, “Hello…Noa.”
He growled somewhere deep in his chest, turning away from Anaya, scenting the air as he approached their Echo. She would not move from her place on the ground, but had raised herself into a sitting position at least. She too avoided his gaze, wrapping her arms around her bent knees as he continued to try to decipher the situation before him. It was frustrating, all he could smell was Anaya…and a faint trace of blood.
He wanted to get angry, to attack Anaya for causing harm to their Echo, but he could not find any traces of blood on her. Not her face, her hands, her feet, or even on her clothing. He could not find any proof that Anaya was responsible for the blood smell, but he would not meet his eye and that made him suspicious. He did not understand what he had walked into, and neither ape nor human were speaking!
He huffed, crouching down to be eye level with their Echo. She stared at him now, looking as frightened as she had the day they first met. But why? Did she think he was still angry with her? He tried to smile, offering her his hand, “You are…alright?”
She looked at his open palm, eyes darting to Anaya before returning to him. He turned to see Anaya standing a good distance away from both of them, shifting nervously. When he returned his gaze to her, she simply shook her head and arched slightly away from him. This surprised him, his frustration growing now the longer the silence stretched on.
He stood, ready to demand answers, but Anaya interrupted before he could speak, “Echo…does not want…to speak right now…will meet Noa tomorrow…by water rock…Anaya will…show him the way.”
He grunted, another low rumble emanating from his chest before he asked again, “Echo is…alright…not hurt?”
He noticed a slight tremor to her shoulders before she chose to sign, Echo fine. Speak tomorrow.
He turned from her to Anaya several times, puffing out a frustrated breath, “Fine…Anaya and I…leave now…return home…understand?”
Anaya nodded, and so did their Echo, still on the ground. He turned his head, asking, “On ground but…not hurt…can stand?”
Another brief exchange between her and Anaya, causing him to drive his canines into his gums. Why does she keep looking to him? She carefully stands, as if moving is difficult for her. Once they are nearly chest to chest, face to face, she signs again, Echo fine. Speak tomorrow. Goodnight.
It was a dismissal…one he was not happy with, but would accept for now. He nodded, grunting, “We go…now.”
He backed away from their Echo, watching Anaya follow behind him. Just as they were about to round the corner into darkness, he heard her call out, “Anaya!”
Both of them turned to face her, one in confusion and the other in shock, watching as she practically sprinted to Anaya. She threw her arms around him, smashing her body against his, getting as physically close as she possibly could. Anaya did not seem surprised by this, returning her embrace and resting his chin on the top of her head. He stood there, feeling cold suddenly, though the freezing season was far off yet.
Another breath or two and she was releasing Anaya, staring up at him in silence. He was looking down at her with that same expression, something soundless passing between them. Then she whispered, so quietly he would have missed it had he not been watching her so intently, “Thank you.”
Anaya raised his hand to pat the top of her head. He rested it there a moment before humming, “Anything…for Echo.”
She laughed. She laughed as if nothing was wrong, as if they had not fought before sunset, as if he was not standing there at all! Anger was returning, and he shoved it away, believing Anaya would explain on the way home. Their Echo released Anaya, eyes finally landing on him. The brief happiness he had seen in her gaze was extinguished like a flame, another emotion taking its place. That same one he could not understand, something powerful, but sad and scared as well. Why? She had never looked at him that way before. She gave him a slight nod, before turned and made her way towards her hole in the ground.
Anaya was watching him watch her, feeling his Sunset Brother’s eyes roam over his face. He turned his head sharply, catching Anaya off guard. He jumped back, clearly surprised. Before he could say anything, Anaya began walking, “Yes…we go…go home now.”
He took a deep breath, letting out a long sigh through his nose. He did not know why, but something about what he just saw bothered him. It made the skin under his fur feel irritated. It felt like a colony of ants had burrowed under his fur and were biting him mercilessly. He did not like this feeling, and he did not like that Anaya was the one their Echo was talking to. Why did she not speak with him? It was obvious she could speak, so why? Was it because she was still angry with him? Had he hurt her so much that she would purposely ignore him and talk with Anaya instead? Touch Anaya, in an affectionate way she had never shown him before? As they mounted their respective horses, he was reminded of Anaya’s words he had spoken in the Eagle Tower.
You are not…the only one…who speaks with her.
His chest felt tight then. Watching Anaya bring his horse forward to ride alongside his, he realized how true that statement was. She had trusted him with her story, but she had also trusted Anaya with some of it. She trusted Anaya tonight, more than she did him. Had that always been the case? If not, when had it started? When had Anaya surpassed him?
Anaya did not speak, and the silence made him practically pant for answers. It was clumsy, but he asked, “Echo…was different…what happened…while you two…spoke?”
Anaya refused to look at him, focused on the path ahead. He simply grunted, “We…bonded.”
“Bonded?” He repeated, hoping Anaya would say more. When he did not, he prodded, “Bond…like with Eagle?”
Anaya shook his head, but did not say anything more. This angered him further, and he lost his tact as he spoke, “Smelled blood…on Echo…smelled you…on Echo.”
Anaya jerked his head towards him then, “Anaya…did too…could not…find it…looked…very close.”
He snarled, “Is that why…you were crouched…on top of her?”
Anaya’s eyes squinted, a small amount, but enough to let him know that his Sunset Brother understood what he was implying. “Did not…hurt Echo…would not hurt her…or betray her trust.”
That caught him off guard, it was such a strange thing to say. He calmed a bit, wondering, “What were…you doing?”
There was a long stretch of silence before Anaya confessed, “Helping…Echo.”
“Helping?” He repeated again, not understanding. “How were…you helping…Echo does not like to be…too close to ape.”
Anaya turned his head away from him, growling, “Noa thinks…he knows everything…but you do not know…Echo like you think…you do.”
“If you have…something to say,” he began. “Then…speak up.”
Anaya still refused to look at him as he said, “Echo is not…only yours…do not…treat her like…she is.”
“I do not,” he defended. “Echo belongs…to no one.”
Anaya huffed once, humming, “Anaya thinks… you should…remember that…in the future.”

Fear Me, Love Me
I was inspired by Regina in the all black outfit to write this
Regina George x Reader: 2.2k words: Masterlist
Requested: Yes/No
Regina rides a motorbike in this :)
————————————————————————————
Everyone knew when Regina George was coming to school, they could all hear her coming, which made everyone tremble in fear.
Almost everyone, except for one girl that was, Y/n 'Imi'ike, which happened to be you. When you heard the sound of you girlfriend coming into school, you got excited and rushed out to greet her instantly.
The loud sound of Regina's famous motorbike engine made the ground vibrate and the school freeze in fear, then there was you, a drama freak, (Lowkey a dork) Smiling brightly as you waits for Regina to park her motorbike.
As soon as she steps off the heavy vehicle, you run after her, giving her a hug before she can take her helmet off, making her jolt back in surprise before chuckling under her breath, hugging you back, "What a warm welcome." Regina says happily, removing her arms to take off her helmet, but there is something that's stopping her.
"I missed you." you smile, still having your arms wrapped around her, which makes the taller girl giggle. "Baby, move your arms away." You do what she told you, moving your arms so she could take of her helmet, as soon as she does, she leans closer to give you a kiss, her hands wrapping around your waist to pull your body closer.
When she pulls away, she takes off her gloves and reaches out her hand, silently asking for you to hold it, which you do, the two of you were so lucky to have homeroom together, the whole class knew about your relationship with the queen bee, no one would dare question it, but everyone was wondering how did you end up with Regina George?
For more context, let's back track. You have always been a loner, being the younger sister of Janis 'Imi'ike already set your reputation low with everyone as soon as you started at North Shore.
Everyone thought you'd be crazy obsessed with art and they were surprised to see you were hopeless at the subject. You were talented in other things but you're main focus was musical theatre, you thought this would stop everyone from calling you an art freak but you were wrong, they still did.
After musical theatre, you're favourite subject was Maths, you were doing AP Math which resulted people calling you a nerd, it didn't hurt your feelings, but nothing would prepare you for what happened on April 12th.
You nervously held your books as you walked to the theatre, you were just praying that you would get the lead, Heathers as your favourite musical and your dream role was Heather Chandler. As you got closer, your nerves grew stronger as you saw the crowd around the door, Janis and Damien said that you were definitely going to get this role, but you still had denial.
You pushed through the people to be able to see the paper, you read over the names and a bright smile landed on your face as you saw that you got your dream roll, you screamed, texting your sister. Then happily walking away to your locker.
You were taking your stuff for first period, you felt a tap on your shoulder that was a little aggressive so you turn around to face one of guys on the football team, James Brown. "Hi James, what do you want?" You say with a bright smile on your face, still feeling happy about what happened earlier.
James wasn't happy, he had an angry expression on his face. "You stole my Girlfriends role!" He yelled, shoving you into the locker, you groaned in pain, "I'm sorry, I don't understand?" You say, confused with what he was so mad over, "My girlfriend's dream role was Heather Chandler! And you stole it! You're not even talented! You can't sing!" He yelled, making you flinch.
"I'm sorry but I don't know who your girlfriend is.." You say in a calm voice, hoping it would calm him down. Spoiler alert, it didn't, "Jessica Dove. She's much more talented than you, the only reason you got the role is because the directors want to fuck you!" He yelled, you tried not to take offence to what he was saying, you knew he was just trying to offend you.
As soon as she noticed you weren't taking offence he threw a hard punch to your face, you were taken back by what he did and was in to much shock to fight back, even if you did have fast reflexes, James held both your wrists preventing you from hitting back, he hits you in the face a few more times.
You can see he reaches up his arm to throw another punch, you squint your eyes, waiting for it to happen but it never comes, when you open your eyes, you see another hand, covering James' hand, and throwing him back.
You see that his facial expression turns to frightened and he rushes away, you don't know who saved you, before you can take a look at the figure, everything goes black.
You wake up in a different place, you panic, rushing to sit up because you don't know where you are, strong arms are on you, pushing you down slowly, you turn to look at the girl, you gasp and you're heart stops, you see the girl you have had a crush on your whole high school life.
Regina George, the name you have heard from your sister but you still couldn't help follow along with everyone else and liking the tall blonde. "R-Regina? What are you doing here?" You ask, voice slightly breaking, "I saw James hitting you and I couldn't allow it to continue," She said, voice sweet as honey as she runs her fingers through your hair, you look to the side and see a mirror, you see that your face is ruined, a black eye and many bruises and even a bit of dried blood covered your face.
"My face is ruined. I won't be able to do the musical." You say, turning around, not wanting to face the mirror anymore, Regina George shakes her head, still playing with your hair, "No. I spoke with my Dad and he called the school, they agreed to postpone the musical."
You open your eyes and smile at the girl, leaning in to give her a hug, she giggled at your cuteness, when you pulled away, the two of you looked into each others eyes, you thought she was about to kiss you but you shook your head, "If I'm being honest I thought you would just leave me there." You say, slightly giggling.
Regina grabs your hand and looks at you with a shocked expression on her face, "I would for some normal losers but you're different Y/n." She smiled, looking into your eyes, then back to your lips.
Then it happened, the thing happened that you have been wanting to do since 9th grade, you felt her lips against yours.
So that's how everything happened, Regina skipped to stay with you in the hospital and you came back wearing some of her clothes and her arm wrapped around you possessively. No one expected the relationship, but it mostly a shock to your sister. When she first saw the two of you, she was in heavy denial and thought it was two people who just looked exactly like you but as she got closer, she realised it was you and Regina.
It took a while to get used to and she is still grossed out but she has never seen you this happy to go to school so she's fine with it, but if Regina ever does anything to hurt you, she won't be afraid to mess up Regina George's life.
That brings us back into the present time, Regina was holding your hand very tightly and couldn't help to notice how tired you looked, when she sat down, she grabbed your waist before you could sit down and dragged you to sit in her lap, none of the other students said anything because this was normal for them.
"What time did you get to sleep last night baby." You stay silent and don't say anything, she looks at you with her scary eyes, which always makes you spit the words out. "I didn't" You whisper very quietly, "What was that?" Regina asks, because she couldn't hear what you said, "I didn't get any sleep." You repeat louder, followed by a big yawn right after. Regina looked at the smaller girl in concern, you were always rehearsing or studying, she felt bad that you had no time to sleep, she allowed you to sleep on her chest for homeroom, you feel asleep quickly.
When she knew you were asleep, she pulled out her phone, texting Janis if its okay if she takes you home and looks after you, Janis said the Idea was perfect and that you needed the rest, Regina gulped knowing that she would have to do a lot of convincing for the next part. So she called Janis, thinking that it would be easier.
Janis picked up, wondering why Regina decided to call her, "What's up Regina? Are you taking Y/n home?" She asks, "I am but.. I came here on my motorbike." Regina says, Janis nods like Regina can see her, "Yeah that's fine but-," Janis slowly processed what that meant so she stopped talking, "Do you have a helmet for her? and safe clothes to wear?" Janis asked, Regina quickly answered with a smile on her face, "Yes! I bring a spare one everyday just in case." Janis hesitates before saying, "Okay."
The tall blonde girl smiles brightly, hanging up the phone and waking you up, she doesn't say anything she just garbs your bag and her bag and holds your hand and walks out of the school, you were to tired to process what was happening, when she brings you to her motorbike and just stands there, your worries go up high, "What are we doing? We have school!" You yell, starting to panic, the blonde pulls you in for a hug, calming you down.
"Your sister agrees that you need rest, so I'm taking you home." You frown, not even denning the fact that your so tired, she puts on your helmet and your motorbike clothes on, making sure that you're very safe, you have ridden on her motorbike before but it was scary every time. She put on her helmet and helped you on before she got on herself, you wrapped your arms around her tightly, not daring to let go once.
When you got to her place, she took you to her room right away, allowing you to rest on top of the blankets and she ran a bath for the two of you, it had only been 10 minutes but when she was done setting up, she came back to you sound asleep, she almost felt bad waking you up.
It was worth it, she woke you up and guided you into her on suite bathroom, you looked at her with happy puppy eyes when you saw what she did for you, she lit the room with candles and the bath was filled with warm water, bubbles and flower petals.
Regina undressed herself first, taking off all her clothes until she was completely stripped, you started at her for a few seconds but brought back to reality when Regina clicked her fingers and started to help you out of her clothes, Regina hoped into the bath first, she allowed you to come in after her, your back against her front with you in between her legs.
She started to wash your hair, making sure to massive the scalp, her fingers were so relaxing, you ending up falling asleep, while you were asleep, she cleaned your body, trying her best not to wake you, 30 minutes later, she had to wake you up, she lightly shook you causing you to let out a whine. "It's okay baby, you can go back to sleep soon." She whispers, helping you out of the bath.
She dried you up, giving you some of her clothes to change into, guiding you to the bed, she knew you wanted to get under the covers and sleep but she had another plan. She lied you down on your stomach after she took off the shirt you were wearing, putting some cream and oil in her hands she started to massage your body, starting at your shoulders, you were so stiff she made sure so massage every muscle to make your body less tender.
When she was down she put your shirt back on and pulled the covers over you, walking down stairs to set up another surprise for you, when you woke up, you felt happy, you felt stress free, you weren't thinking anything other then, "What is that amazing smell." You got up quickly and rushed downstairs, smiling when you saw your tall girlfriend, cooking you some pasta.
You walked up and wrapped your arms around her waist, still feeling slightly sleepy, she smiled at your cuteness, bringing you turning around to pull you in for a hug, "How you feeling baby?" Regina asks, hugging you tightly, you look at her smiling, "Hungry." The blonde girl giggles and nods her head, serving you and herself some pasta.
When you were finished you put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher and rushed up stairs, you were excited to get back to sleep but stress came back when you realised you had school tomorrow, but all stress went away when you felt Regina's arms wrap around you and you felt calm.
This goes to show that even the motorbikes don't hide how soft Regina George is for you, and everyone knows it.

—
You aren’t sure why, but with Dave gone, it feels wrong to see Max. At least, outside of your workplace...
Were it the other way around, you don’t think you would experience the same level of cloying guilt you feel with Dave, but then again, your relationship with Dave was far different than what you had with Max: while you kept Dave at arm’s length, with Max, you kept him even further than that, a begrudging admission of your lack of self control, something that you hate to admit runs in your family. You with your alcoholism and overactive sex drive; Garrett with his addiction to narcotics. Your mother’s former addictions to the same things as you and your brother, at one point or another, waxing and waning for decades as long as you can feasibly remember.
You can’t help but smirk to yourself as you imagine scientists studying your family like captive apes, which isn’t too far off. They would probably learn a thing or two about addiction. Not that your mother believes in science enough to volunteer for such things.
So, that is how things go for those few days that Dave is out of town. Max respects your need for space, surprisingly so, affording you little more than a few minutes in the bathroom each day you’re both in the coffee shop at the same time, ending in either a belly full of Max’s cum, his fingers buried deep in your pussy until you see stars, or both.
And he still insists on ending every interaction with those strangely intimate and delicate embraces, each encounter getting longer and softer with each passing day. Almost like Max wants to be close to you, but isn’t sure how else to go about it, only knowing that it’s something he needs—no, craves.
You won’t lie, you had started looking forward to those hugs too, needing them more than you’d realized. He never kisses you, though, no matter how long he holds you in his arms afterwards, something that leaves an oddly empty pit twisting inside of you that you can’t find yourself able to shake.
Your coworkers definitely know about your little bathroom receptions, thankfully looking the other way when Max comes strolling in like Don Juan in his pursuit of you. Even, much to your surprise, Audrey, whom you often found shooting dirty looks your way when she thinks you’re unawares, but has sense enough to keep her mouth shut. At least in front of you.
You played it cool around your boss, Maurizio, who seemed to be none the wiser, Max often chatting him up as a distraction when you had to straighten your clothes or smooth down your hair or make sure you didn’t have any remnants of jizz lingering on you. Sweet talking was definitely one of Max’s strong suits and Maury ate that shit right up.
Your nights after your shifts ended with you and Dave on the phone, talking — or doing other things — for hours on end, and you had to admit that his voice in your ear at the end of a long day was a welcome gift and distraction.
You asked about each other’s days; you lamenting about the stressors of your job, even divulging the part about the shipment of mocha syrup being two weeks late and how you’re down to only two bottles, and that you’re pretty sure Audrey and Vincent hate you, but leave out any bits about Max being the reason.
He tells you all about the day to day activities with his girls, everything from the inevitable meltdowns, to what they did and where they went, even letting you talk to his eldest — Molly — for a few moments when she insisted on knowing who her dad was talking to if it wasn’t Mommy, and although it felt awkward and forced it was still very sweet and amiable, leading you to wonder if this was all leading to something bigger between you and Dave… although you’d known each other only a very short time, it was suddenly feeling very real.
Did you want that?
You didn’t know, and not knowing scared you. That’s why, you realized, you hadn’t completely pushed Max away, in case things went awry. And they often did in your case, leaving behind a flaming trail of gnarled and smoldering wreckage in its wake.
And maybe you were starting to like Max, too. Just a little. As much as you tried to deny it.
At the very least, you could admit you looked forward to his daily visits more and more as the days slogged on, which was saying a lot.
As the upcoming week drew ever nearer, Dave’s communication dwindled and subsequently ran dry, which had you a bit worried. He had texted you about some vague work thing he had to do. You didn’t ask what it was, since it was none of your business.
Yet, you couldn’t keep yourself from worrying when the messages slowed and eventually stopped. Had you done or said something offputting?
You do your best not to linger in your own head for too long, keeping yourself busy with mundanities.
——
Dave was careful not to stay in touch with you unless absolutely necessary while he was actively on target. Whatever he could do to prevent you from being tied to the crime, even if only via digital footprint. Not to mention to keep himself from being tied to it, in whatever way possible.
He had left the crime scene with the intent to drive through the night without stopping until he reached Boston. His mind had not diverted from the original plan; however, with his dick painfully engorged and straining against his pants every step of the way, your face at the forefront of his mind, he found himself having to stop more than once to relieve the ache. You made him feel crazy. Crazier than he’s ever felt before. And he simultaneously loved and hated it.
With your videos playing on a loop, seat reclined back as far as it could go, he spills across his stomach again and again as he grunts your name through clenched teeth, hot spend collecting in the hollow of his navel.
Sunrise is approaching and he still has a couple of hours to go before he reaches you. He can’t wait to be with you. He can’t…
——
As you force yourself to drag ass into another long, miserable shift at work, barely conscious, your hair a rat’s nest, Dave is having to force himself not to be lead-footed all the way home. Being pulled over by a cop is the last thing he needs right now.
He texts you around 7AM, asking if you’re working and how you’re doing, although he already knows you’re not home, from the camera loop he periodically checks. He has to ask, though, to be as inconspicuous as possible.
You feel a wave of relief when you see Dave’s name pop up on your phone. But with a storm bearing down hard on the city (what your mother affectionately and irritatingly refers to as ‘tornado weather’), business unexpectedly picks up and you’re too slammed with soaked and pissy customers to respond in a timely manner.
You’re even too busy for Max when he comes in, passing him an apologetic glance right before your hands slip and you splash blistering hot coffee down the front of your shirt. Behind the dejected, puppy dog eyes he’s giving you, you almost think you see concern flash in those dark brown irises of his.
Not like that’s possible. Right?
—
It takes Dave longer than anticipated to make it back to Boston. Between the instances he had to pull off to relieve the strain in his pants, and subsequently take a power nap, he hits the city a little past 9, and by the time he makes it through the infuriating drag of traffic and rain, he pulls into his spot close to 10.
He draws in a deep breath as he stares up at your apartment window, dark now, pulling himself out of the driver’s seat, barely having enough energy to make it through the downpour and up the stairs to his apartment.
But as soon as he deposits his bag on the living room floor, he’s inexplicably hit with a second wind, adrenaline coursing through his veins when it occurs to him how close he is to you once again.
He hastily stuffs his lock picking kit down his pants, grabbing a rain slicker from the closet, despite already being drenched to the skin.
He knows you aren’t home. He’s confirmed and re-confirmed it. But needs to be in your space. Just long enough to smell you again, be with you without being with you until you can officially be in his arms again. He wants to lie on your bed, wrapped in your scent like a cloak as he dribbles down his fist, surprising you later by picking you up from work so you don’t have to walk home in the rain.
Which reminds him — he texts you again, asking when you get off, hoping that you’re just busy and not ignoring him.
He makes it inside your apartment in record time, the old wood of the interior crackling from the pressure disturbance, almost as if beckoning him inside.
He locks the door behind him and toes off his shoes, glancing around the small, dark space, which smells of stale cigarettes and… you.
He only needs a couple of hours. That’s all. Just long enough to hold him over until he can see you, smell you for real, touch you. Fuck you until your eyes roll back into your skull and you see stars.
He strips off his dripping clothes and drapes them over the back of your kitchen chairs to dry, at least somewhat, crawling into your bed and pulling the comforter up past his shoulders.
He presses his face to mattress, inhaling deeply, immediately growing hard from your lingering scent. Your coconut shampoo, your vanilla body spray. You.
As he slips his cock free from his boxers, he can almost feel your curves against his fingertips, the softness of your lips against his.
He begins to pump himself slowly, knowing he risked it all for you. Just so that sad fuck you call an ex can’t harass you anymore, his cock tightening further as he recalls the way Jonathan looked when the life drained from behind his eyes.
He did it for you, and he would do it a million times more if he could.
—
Your work day finally begins to slow after the lunch rush, the rain slacking off to a more tolerable, humid drizzle.
You let the others know that you’re retiring to the alley for a much needed cigarette break, and to not bother you for fifteen minutes unless it’s a life and death emergency. And even then, still don’t.
You already have a cigarette perched between your lips and a lighter clutched in your fist before you even hit the alleyway, thankful for the small awning even with the calmer precipitation.
You ignite the cig, pocketing your lighter as you take a seat on the milk crate you use as a stool, drawing in a long, much needed puff of smoke and toxins into your lungs. Fuck, it’s been a day.
You fish your phone out of your pocket so you can shoot Max a quick apology for not being able to see him earlier, immediately becoming distracted by the sheer volume of text messages you’ve missed since the start of your shift, Max momentarily forgotten.
Two of the messages are from Dave, which you’re relieved to see and respond to right away. One is from an employee letting you know they’re going to be half an hour late to their shift, which you ignore for the time being, not wanting to deal with it just yet. And the other eight are from your mom.
You sigh, taking another drag from your cigarette as you begrudgingly click on her name, anticipating the usual slew of bitching and moaning, reminding you what a terrible, awful daughter you are for abandoning your family; or, on the other end of the spectrum, kissing your ass and pleading for money.
As soon as your eyes scan over the messages, your world is swiftly rocked off its axis, your fingers losing their strength as your hands begin to tremor.
Your phone and cigarette crash to the ground, the former cracking as it hits the concrete, the latter snuffing itself out in the little bit of rain that’s left.
You wedge the heel of your palms against your eyelids and begin to weep, but you can still see the words behind your eyes, already haunting you, wishing you could scratch them out of your brain, wishing you could turn back time like it never happened.
Your grandmother, the only bit of glue that ever held you to your family, is gone.
—
Sarah comes in on her day off to cover the rest of your shift so you can leave early, thanking her profusely with promises to make it up to her as soon as you can.
You let Maury know you’re going to take a few days for bereavement, and he doesn’t give you any shit about it.
You walk home in a milky daze, finding your way by muscle memory alone, because you’re pretty sure you aren’t actually perceiving anything but a whirlwind of grief; grief so intense you can feel it in your bones, your bone marrow.
Your grandma—Granny Ruth—was the kindest, most selfless woman you’d ever had the privilege of knowing. You never could figure out how your mother turned out the way she did; how they were not only different, but polar fucking opposites.
You keep reading and re-reading your mother’s texts. How, in addition to your sorrow and angst, you’re also unfathomably angry.
Mom: your grandmother Ruth passed this morning
Mom: shame you weren’t here to say goodbye since you abandoned us
Mom: don’t bother coming home, she is being cremated no service
You need a stiff drink. Several, in fact. You need drugs. Every single one.
You need to get fucked until you’re completely desiccated. You need to strangle every last shred of emotion from your body because it’s too much to carry right now.
You wish you had a kill switch for your brain.
—
By the time you’ve reached the stoop that leads up to your building, you can’t keep it in any longer.
You managed to hold the fraying threads of your sanity together when you had to call Sarah in. And when you had to let Maury know. Even on the walk home, you were a zombie. Mindless. Numb.
But now, as you draw nearer to your home—or what you call home, but doesn’t really feel that way— your legs grow weak and your head swims, forcing you to collapse on the steps that lead up to the double doors, hunched forward, sobbing into your hands.
You aren’t sure how long you stay there, or if anyone sees you, and you really don’t care.
You stay until your head is throbbing, only snapping out of your daze when a familiar voice cuts through the sorrow, hushed, concerned, your name a murmur on their lips.
“Doll… are you okay?”
When you finally lift your head, your gaze settles on Max.
—
You tell Max about your grandmother. How she had been sick for years, how you should have never left her, the guilt and regret gnawing at you. You had been selfish, stupid.
He sits beside you on the steps, one arm wrapped around your shoulders, letting you cry, letting you lament about how much you hate your mother, only speaking when he needs to.
He’s being sweet, sympathetic, patient, and completely unlike his usual self. And you’re intuitive enough to know he isn’t bullshitting or just trying to get into your pants. He’s actually being sincere.
It’s so unlike him it almost unsettles you.
You aren’t complaining, though. It’s nice in how unexpected, how off-kilter it seems, and it does make you feel better, at least for a few fleeting moments.
As the conversation carries on and your mood lifts a peg or two, Max’s gentle, sympathetic touches gradually turn more reverent, more wanton, his movements slow and unsure at first to test the waters, wanting to ensure that you want it as much as he does.
When you reciprocate, your eyes re-affirming your needs to him, he grows more insistent, more brazen, cupping your breasts through your polo, coffee stains and all, canine teeth scraping along your pulse point.
He’s being more tender and sensual than you’re used to, and while you don’t mind it, you prefer Max’s usual persona and would much rather be railed so hard you forget your own name.
He pulls away long enough for you to punch in your password on the keypad, flinging the twin doors open and making a beeline for the elevator with Max trailing at your heels like an infatuated puppy.
His touches become more persistent and demanding the closer you get to your apartment, his true colors finally bleeding through. By the time you’re fumbling your keys to unlock the door, he’s practically dry humping you, hands on your hips, half hard already.
After a brief and minor struggle with your lock, your hands tremoring again, you eventually shoulder the door open, stumbling inside with Max immediately following suit.
The cool dark of your space welcomes you as you shut the door harder than intended, Max’s hands returning to your hips.
Suddenly, the air in the room shifts, and there’s movement from your bed.
—
You scream, your hands losing their strength for the second time today, keys and purse crashing to the floor as Max positions himself between you and the intruder.
Without thinking, you instinctively reach for the switch next to your head, the resulting flood of luminescence rendering everyone temporarily blind.
When your vision eventually returns, and you see who’s standing before you, you’re almost unable to fathom what the fuck is even going on.
“Dave? How the f- what are you… what the fuck?” you manage to prattle out, in spite of your inability to otherwise form a cohesive thought.
Dave could kick himself for being so careless, so sloppy. He was more clear cut than that. He should have known better.
His eyes flick to Max, his face neutral as he assesses the situation before speaking, taking a tentative step in your direction.
He’s in nothing but black boxers, one side of his hair flattened, his eyes weary and heavy with lingering traces of sleep.
He says your name, studying your face. He can tell you’ve been crying, and he wants to break whoever did this to you, rip them apart at the seams until there’s nothing left to identify a body.
He isn’t dense and can see that Max isn’t the source of your distress, clearing his throat subtly, whispering your name again.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, his voice low, his need to touch you, kiss you, bordering on physical pain. But he doesn’t want to startle or upset you, your eyes as large as dinner plates.
As Dave creeps another step forward, Max shoulders up to him, practically bristling like a dog over a prized bone.
“Maybe you should answer her question, Dave.”
“Max—“ you warn, Max pivoting to meet your gaze, taking a single step back only because of you.
Dave passes him a glance, and for a brief, but satisfying moment, he imagines himself decking Max square in the jaw. He knows he could take the pretentious prick down in a single blow, he’s certain of it. But as much as he wants to do just that, he refrains.
He’s aware that acting on his instincts would disrupt your already fragile state. And as much as he hates to admit it, he understands why Max is acting the way he is. He would behave the same, were the roles reversed.
He draws in a deep breath before responding.
“I wanted to see you. You weren’t home… your door was unlocked, so I let myself in. I wanted to surprise you. But I must have drifted off...”
He pauses, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, giving you a moment to absorb everything.
“I’m sorry. I was exhausted, not thinking straight. I… I fucked up.”
You can’t help but notice Max is uncharacteristically quiet as Dave explains himself, hands on his hips, ready to jump in at any moment if needed. But like Dave, he doesn’t want to do anything to upset you.
“Please tell me what’s wrong. I want to help, if I can. I-“ He takes another step, his hand reaching for your arm. “I missed you.”
You see a muscle in Max’s jaw jump when Dave touches you, and as much as you want to shove him away, scream at him, tell him to fuck right off for breaking into your apartment… locked or not… you can’t bring yourself to do it. You’ve been angry enough for one day and you’re too mentally drained to care right now.
More tears fall in lieu of your anger, and you almost can’t believe you still have any left to cry.
Dave closes the distance, Max immediately flinching, itching to pick a fight but holding back. Dave doesn’t seem to notice or care, his focus honed solely on you, cupping your jaw, his thumb dragging over your cheekbone, catching any stray tears.
They’re behaving surprisingly well, given the circumstances, you have to give them that.
And although Max knew about you and Dave, you’re shocked to realize Dave knows about you and Max. But it’s too much information to dwell on right now, your head a foggy mess, so you don’t.
“My grandma died,” you croak.
—
The first hour is awkward, uncomfortable, the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Dave and Max are getting along but only just barely, both of them vying for your attention to the point of additional stress, wanting to do whatever they can to make you feel better.
None of it feels real. Everything feels dark and hazy, a fever dream.
You’re sandwiched between both men on your tiny couch, watching something on Discovery none of you give two shits about, passing a bottle of vodka around to add to your mixer of choice as you sit in otherwise oppressive, stifling silence.
Their hands are all over you, competing for your affections, probably wishing you would kick the other one out, and you consider more than once to kick both out to let you wallow in your sorrow in peace.
But the drunker you get, the less you care. The drunker they get, the less they care about the other touching you, as long as they do get to touch you in some way or another.
As their touches grow bolder, you sense something unspoken pass between them, their caresses gradually transitioning to fondling, their hands moving over your curves, groping your breasts, teasing your folds through your thin leggings.
Of course there are a few moments where they bristle and bicker, quarreling over who gets to touch you where, but for the most part, they cooperate, working your body in tandem.
Your head falls back, your neck folded over the back of the couch as Dave’s fingers slip under the band of your leggings, his lips finding your neck.
“So wet already,” he murmurs against your pebbled flesh, his fingers feather light touches against your skin, teasing. “You like the way we’re touching you, baby?”
Max’s lips are on the opposite side of your neck, nibbling and kissing from your jaw to your clavicle, his hand sliding under your shirt, pushing your bra aside to pluck at your puckered nipple.
You can only moan in response, so fucking horny you don’t even know what to do with yourself.
“I think she does,” Max replies with a crooked smirk, locking eyes with Dave as he slips your polo over your head, his head dipping to suckle at your exposed breast.
Dave pushes two fingers past your entrance, languidly pumping them as he anchors his thumb against your clit, causing your hips to twitch and sputter.
“So fucking pretty for us,” Dave purrs against your neck, pushing your leggings down to your knees, “Dirty fucking slut, letting two men touch you. What else would you let us do to you?”
“Anything you want,” you respond almost immediately, not having to giving it another thought.
Max’s head lifts from your chest, gently pushing you forward so he can remove your bra.
“That’s a dangerous proposition, doll. You think you can handle both of us at the same time?” Max counters, a devilish glint making his dark eyes shine as he palms himself over his pants.
You nod, unable to respond in any coherent language due to whatever magic Dave is currently performing between your thighs.
Dave tells you to lift your legs, tugging your bottoms the rest of the way down.
He had pulled his pants back on after you and Max arrived, but he shucks them off again, the outline of his dick visibly straining through the fabric.
Max had already stripped down to his undershirt and pants, wiggling out of his shirt while Dave removes his pants.
Dave spreads your thighs apart, drinking in the vision of your sopping wet pussy, the tip of his tongue flicking at his bottom lip like a hungry reptile.
He turns to Max, his eyes glistening, his brow furrowed.
“Make her cum. Get her ready,” Dave commands, Max not bothering to argue with being told what to do so authoritatively, because he wants it just as badly as you do.
“Ride his face,” he tells you, gesturing for you and Max to move over to the bed.
“Use him to get yourself off.”
Max moves into position, wriggling out of his pants in the process, leaving both men in their boxers and you completely nude.
Your walls clench around nothing as you mount Max’s face, planting your knees on either side of his head, your palms against the wall.
Max places a few delicate kisses to your inner thighs before abruptly pulling you all the way down, his tongue curling into your wet heat.
Dave growls, his eyes darkening with lust as he steps out of his boxers, large hand wrapping around the base of his thick cock, steadily stroking himself to the vision of Max eating you out with abandon.
Dave bends to kiss your velvety lips, his tongue demanding access and you let him.
“You remember your safe word, don’t you?” Dave asks as he breaks the kiss, his fingers entwined in your hair.
You nod, your lower lip dangling. “Foxglove for you, lavender for Max,” you reply.
“Good girl,” Dave praises, giving your right ass cheek a solid smack. “Now ride his face. Use him.”
You hear Max grunt something against your folds but you aren’t sure what, leaning back, your spine flexing as you brace yourself on Max’s muscular arms.
Dave watches, transfixed, his hand never leaving his cock as he tilts your head back to kiss and bite at your throat, your jaw.
“Is he doing a good job, sweetheart?” Dave asks and your head bobs eagerly in response.
“Yes he is,” you say as your hips roll forward, thrusting against Max’s tongue, his arched nose bumping your clit with every stroke.
“Max, spread her cheeks for me,” Dave says firmly and Max immediately obliges, his cock twitching in his shorts when he understands where this is going.
With his hands gripping your ass, he helps you to guide your movements, moaning against your folds.
Dave perches on the edge of the bed behind you, collecting some of your excess slick to coat his fingers, assisting Max in spreading you even wider as he teases and prods at your puckered star of muscle.
“Let me in, sweetheart, or it’s going to hurt later,” Dave commands softly, circling your entrance with his index finger. “Lean forward a little bit,” he tells you, placing his palm between your shoulders as he guides you into position.
You brace against the wall again, relaxing as much as you can, the new angle helping.
Dave manages to slip one finger inside, pistoning into your tight tunnel, making you whimper and quiver against Max.
He spits directly onto your anus to apply more lubrication, adding a second finger to the first.
“Keep riding his face just like that. Use both of us, pump yourself onto my fingers as you use his mouth,” Dave says, his voice low, his other hand reaching around to circle your throat.
“There you go,” he says as his fingers probe deeper, scissoring them apart to help stretch you further.
“Yes, fuck yes,” you whimper, your movements becoming more determined, more frantic.
Max is a trooper, his fingers still digging into your ass, his grip bruising, his tongue still flicking and curling into your tunnel, not even stopping to take a breath.
“That’s it, sweetheart, such a good girl for us,” Dave murmurs, his voice low and velvet.
He attempts to insert a third finger, adding more spittle and slick, only getting it past the first knuckle, but it does seem to help in spreading you open.
“Shit, I’m gonna cum… I’m so close…” you whine as your bounce more fervently on Max’s face, making him grunt words of affirmation under you, muffled against your soft mound.
Dave’s hold on your neck tightens, his fingers flexing against your skin, his lips brushing your ear.
“Let go for us, sweetheart. Let it all out.”
Max continues to guide your movements, Dave helping now as well, bouncing you up and down, using your neck as a handle.
With a loud cry, you cum hard and fast, stars behind your eyes as both men work you through your orgasm, Dave’s hand releasing your throat to return to his cock, Max groaning into your pussy until the waves of pleasure subside.
Dave pulls his fingers free, stilling his ministrations on his own body as he gently cups your cheek.
“Still okay?” he asks, and you nod with a smile as you climb off of Max who, understandably, needs a moment to take a breath.
Max finally extricates himself from his boxers, heavy cock springing free, pumping himself slowly as his visage roves hungrily over you and Dave.
“Get on his cock and lean forward,” Dave demands in a low growl, and you shimmy down Max’s body, straddling him, Max slotting himself at your entrance and lifting his hips to meet you in the middle.
You slowly sink down to his lap, Max releasing a hiss of pleasure, placing his hands on either side of your hips.
“Fuck, baby, you feel amazing,” Max pants, already bucking his hips in anticipation.
Dave positions himself behind you, on his knees, his hands also moving to your hips, fingers brushing Max’s.
They lock eyes with each other, his brow a hard, dark line as he regards the other man.
“You are not allowed to cum in her. Understand?” he tells Max, his voice low and authoritative, his lips tight.
Max frowns, his brow wrinkling in disapproval, but he doesn’t protest, not wanting to let the opportunity to be inside you slip through his fingers.
Dave edges closer, adding more spit and slick to your anus, inserting two fingers again to ensure you’re ready.
“Just relax, baby, and use your safe words if you need them,” Dave tells you gently, placing the head of his cock against your tight ring of muscle.
“Just breathe,” he says, and begins slowly pushing himself into you.
As Dave gradually gains ground, you’ve never felt so full in your entire life, the sensation unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before, even when Dave claimed your ass the first night.
There is some pain initially, but the alcohol helps to alleviate some of the discomfort, as well as slacken your muscles enough for Dave to bottom out.
His head falls back with a loud groan as his hips press firmly against your ass, stilling himself for a beat to relish the sensation of your body strangling his cock.
After a moment, both men exchange another look and they begin to move slowly in conjunction with one another, their movements choppy and stilted at first as they learn the other’s movements, able to find a mutual rhythm after a few minutes that seems to work for you.
“Oh fuck,” you keen, burying your face against Max’s shoulder while both men slide in and out of you in tandem, and you think you’ve never felt anything more glorious in your entire life.
Max wraps his arms around your back, holding you against him, whispering encouragement in your ear.
“Look at you,” Max praises, one hand moving to cup the nape of your neck. “Taking both of us so well. You like having two men inside of you, don’t you?”
You nod and whimper against his neck, your hot breath fanning his skin, on the verge of tears with how heavenly it feels, how much joy and pleasure they’re gifting to you.
Dave gives your right ass cheek another sharp smack, making you yelp in surprise at the abrupt lance of pain.
“Say it. Say out loud how much you love it,” Dave grits through his teeth, his ministrations growing more intense.
“I love having two men inside of me, fucking me, using me,” you mewl between breaths, relinquishing a loud moan when their hips snap against you simultaneously, almost as if they planned it.
Little by little, their movements increase in speed and power, seamlessly with the other, a series of curses and inhuman noises bellowing out of your ribcage.
“Jesus fucking Christ!” you cry out when you feel yourself getting close for a second time, your muscles already tightening. “I’m gonna fucking… cum… again…” you groan against Max’s neck.
Dave lands another slap to your ass, their thrusts growing rougher, your bed rocking against the wall.
“Cum for us, baby. Cum all over Max’s cock while I’m railing your tight little ass,” Dave snarls, panting hard as he chases his own end as well.
You reach your second peak only moments later, your vision going pure white as you’re hurtled far over the edge, experiencing the most intense orgasm you’ve ever had in your life, gushing unapologetically all over Max’s lap and your bed.
They keep pistoning against you, riding you through the waves of your orgasm, the sounds of their grunts and growls filling the small space.
Dave can tell by the look on Max’s face that he’s close as well, his breath ragged in his chest as he warns Max a second time not to finish inside of you.
Max’s cheeks inflate, his skin a deep shade of pink, sweat prickling his brow as he does everything he can to hold back.
“Final warning,” Dave grits, reaching around you to grip Max by the throat, squeezing hard enough to get his point across.
With a deep grunt, Max pulls out of you at the last possible second, locking eyes with Dave, hand still wrapping his throat, exploding like a goddamn geyser all over your ass and Dave’s stomach.
That spurs Dave to reach his own end, stilling inside of you, hips twitching and jerking involuntarily as he unloads everything he has to give, your flexing and pulsing anus milking every last drop.
He collapses on top of you, both men breathing haggardly, your skin slicked with perspiration.
You stay like that for a while, none of you wanting to move for a long time.
Dave pushes his face against the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent, his cheek resting against Max’s chest.
He eventually pulls out, rolling onto his back as you settle between them, lying in comfortable silence for what seems like an eternity.
Max pushes himself up, going over to the bathroom to grab some warm, damp rags, tossing one to you and Dave, using the third on himself.
Dave scoots to the edge of the bed, studying Max in silence as Max gathers his clothes.
You move next to Dave, also watching Max get dressed, quirking a brow in confusion and concern.
“You aren’t staying?”
—
You walk Max down, the elevator ride silent and stifling, his hands shoved awkwardly into his pockets, having never been more quiet in his life.
You follow him to the street, staying with him until he reaches the corner.
“I have work tomorrow,” he says, a flimsy excuse at best.
You cross your arms, searching his face. “Are you okay?” you question, finding yourself genuinely worried.
“Yeah,” Max replies stiffly, confused and overwhelmed by everything that just occurred, his mind replaying the moment Dave grabbed his throat, resulting in him exploding all over both of you like a nervous teen on prom night.
“I just want to be sure…” he begins, lifting his hand to caress your cheek. “Did you want that?”
You meet his eyes with your own, not used to seeing Max this vulnerable, this unsure. You don’t like it.
“Yes. I did…” you say honestly, exhaling a slow breath.
“Did you?” you ask softly.
“Yeah. I did. I wanted it, and I enjoyed it, but… I don’t know,” he says, scrubbing a hand through his hair. “I guess I’m just tired.”
You search his face again, searching for the unspoken answers, but not wanting to scare him away by prying too much.
You step into him, wrapping your arms around him in a snug embrace, and he buries his face in your hair, his arms linking behind your back.
He pulls away after a beat, his hands moving to either side of your face.
“I’ll text you soon. Okay? I’m sorry again, by the way. About your grandmother.”
You inhale deeply, nodding in acknowledgment, trying not to cry again. Sensing your pain, feeling a different kind of pain twisting in his chest, Max does something he normally wouldn’t.
He pulls you closer, his lips connecting with yours in a soft, worshipping kiss, long fingers sinking into your hair, committing the way you taste to memory.

Genuinely would love to know what you think that trans women have in common with femboys
Well for starters we have the shared desire to take estrogen to alter out bodies and, short of that, dress and act more femininely/as woman/however you wanna phrase it. In a time of "anti-drag" bills and restrictions on access to hormones i hope i don't have to point out how these shared desires back us all into the same corner.
Look a lot of people replying to my post have assumed I'm defending a lot of wild shit i never mentioned in the post. Idk which twitter femboys pissed y'all off so much but I never said we have to court any particular group, especially not some creeps online who harass us.
But I'm deeply deeply worried by this growing sentiment among transfems on here that anyone else doing transfemininity different from us are just a grifters or aping our identities. Not only because we should respect others but girl how many of us went through a phase of being feminine boys before realizing we were trans women. Hell, i know so many girls on here who identify as both trans women and feminine men.
I'm not saying we are all exactly 100% the same. As i said in the post we have differences in identity and what we like to be called and that does shape our communities. But when that's the only substantial difference that any of us can come up with then i can promise you that the world at large does not care. They want to strip all of us of our rights and healthcare all the same.
What we have in common is that we exist on the same spectrum of transfeminine gender, far closer to each other than some would like to believe. And so when i see a website full of girls who seem more focused on how annoying the people next to us are than how we're all in immediate danger then forgive me for thinking we need to course correct.
Especially when i see so many of us defaulting to the same rhetoric of "they're terrible fetishists engaging in immoral behavior" that the christian right uses against us. You can think sissy kinks are weird and creepy but how are these arguments any different from the blair whites of the world raging against anyone who's not a Medically Diagnosed Dysphoric True Transexual. Cause so far the only substantial thing i can make of the arguments against me is "they're not using the right pronouns that allow them to say femboy" which is just saying they're doing transfemininity wrong and therefore they're bad.
This is getting to be longer than i wanted lol but I want reiterate that we don't need to ally with anyone who doesn't wanna ally with us. Whatever racist transphobic femboy twinks on twitter and 4chan y'all keep talking about are not who I'm talking about. What I'm wanting to point out is that there are people on here who are already in our communities. People who call themselves boys and girls and both and everything else in between who's transitions and identities are not that different from yours or mine. And right now this insistence that they are doing it wrong and are therefore our political enemies is driving and wedge where there doesn't need to be one. I promise we can all just make out and have puffy nipples together
#really appreciate this genuine ask#this is more than what your original question was but i wanted to take this time to clarify my position#and if you still disagree id love to hear what you have to add#discourse

Refutation. [Noa x Human!Reader]
Reference: This Imagine
Noa x Human!Reader
Rating: No Warnings.
Fandom: (Kingdom Of The) Planet Of The Apes
A/N: Writing this was very satisfying in a way. It just kinda scratched a part of my brain in such a way that I can't even begin to explain why. I love Noa sm ❤️
Noa watches your form as you slump against the threshold of your shelter, his eyes observe the gentle motion of your breathing admiring the way the sun's rising rays caresses over you, the glow unlike anything he's ever seen, and just like any other time he's unable to tear his eyes away from all the miniscule details that he somehow discovers each time he takes the time to look for them.
His fingers twitch as he thinks about brushing away the lock of hair that's fallen infront of your face blocking his view of the cute twitch of your eyebrows that only happens when you try to fight the sleep that's cascading over your sleep induced body, your eyelashes fluttering as you attempt to open your ample eyes to gaze over at Noa, he smiles gently at the the effort.
Despite not sleeping himself, too immersed into the conversation that prolonged till daybreak he didn't feel the least bit tired, too invigorated by your presence alone but as he watched you slump more into yourself, he decides it's about time you slept so he gently stands stretching his back muscles that stiffened from his lack of movement.
You didn't react to the motion, too laden with tiredness, Noa shakes his head at you lack of response before he snakes his arms under your knees and your back picking you up into his arms, a small noise of acknowledgement escaping you as your fingers glide into his fur, a benign shiver traveling through his body, his fur rising up at the action.
he only allows himself a moment of weakness as he nuzzles his face into your hair before he stops himself completely. What was he doing? No. This is very wrong, and he needs to recollect his self-control.
As he amiably lays you into your makeshift nest, he's completely enamored by the scent of you that's wafting off of it, the urge to lay with you inexplicable as he goes to pull away, your hand holds on to his, your eyes only slight cracking open as a sleepy smile graces your face
"Thank you, Noa." Noa can only nod. He's lost his ability to vocalize a response.
'Calm Noa, stay calm, Noa.' His thoughts blare to him but he doesn't need to respond as you had already fallen into the sweet depths of sleep, the softness of you cheeks making him reach out to touch but he snatches his hand back in self restraint, the frustration creeping its way up his throat, a growl threatening to emerge.
"No, it's not right."
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
He's not sure how he ended up avoiding you but it just happened too naturally for him to comprehend, this instinctive action to avoid you overtaking him, he'll find excuses of being too busy caring for the eagles or fixing up things around the Clan.
he could see the clear disappointment on your face but he perseveres in hopes that his overwhelming feelings of being around you would die down but it seems now that there's an ache that envelopes his heart everytime he glances over at you, the desire to be near obscuring his every thought, he's fighting tooth and nail just trying to control these intrusive thoughts.
He really shouldn't be thinking of you in that way.. so why does it persist him like a sickness?
"You know you could tell me what's wrong?" Noa is suddenly pulled from his train of thought, your sudden appearance making him snap his head up to meet your upside down gaze, your figure predominating him, tilting your head smiling at him, your body somewhat grazing him as you sit next to him, he tries to steel his nerves as he weakly huffs at your attempt of getting him to open up to you.
"Nothing is wrong.." He murmurs, turning his attention to the calloused fingers, years of climbing and tinkering building the needed hardness to his hands. You also turn your attention to his digits with a pout.
"I'm not so sure about that.. you seem distant.." His mouth downturns at your hurt concern. He can't help the way he lightly bends into himself in an attempt to shield himself from it.
Your concern for him just makes thing all the more harder, the way your eyes try to capture him within your gaze, the closeness of your body sends shockwaves throughout his, he feels like he's drowning in your existence
"I'm fine.. promise." he's far from fine.
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
He hated this. He hated that he's pushed you away, the denial that follows close behind each time he catches a glimpse of you, but it's not just that.
You've found company from another male ape from the clan, and it killed him every time he sees the way your head tilted back in joyful laughter and the carefree attitude you had towards your new companion.
His eyes narrow when he sees the way the ape is unusually close to you, his jaw tightening as you allow the familiarity of him.
Yeah, he hated the idea of somebody else being in the place he wanted to be in. He wanted to be the one to pull you intimately into him.
the overwhelming desire to share everything with you.
He wanted you to be his and his only. His crossed his arms with reserved irritation as he stares at the other male's aim to make you laugh, the tension in his muscles feeling as if they're gonna snap any moment now the longer he watches the scene infront of him.
He's hit with immense regret as he thinks more about it. What if you wanted to be with someone other than him? Is it too late for him?
His shoulders hang low. You seemed happy now, and he truly wanted that, but he also wanted you, so would it truly be wrong to not want to deny that any longer..
"Echo!" You turn in response to his call, your eyes falling on to him and you quickly turn to your friend waving a goodbye before you jog in Noa's direction, a beaming smile on your lips "Noa!"
That only affirmed his decision to not deny his feelings any longer. He wanted you, and he won't let somebody else have you.

Chapter 3
Rating: Teen and Up
Relationships: Noa x Mae (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes)
Content warnings: None
Comments: English is not my first language. Sorry if something is wrong.
Sometimes, when Noa was all alone picking up berries or fishing, he would think about Mae. When he went out with his friends, he imagined the girl standing besides them, laughing and maybe fighting playfully with Anaya or Soona.
He didn’t know where these imaginary scenarios came from. He knows the truth: Mae doesn’t trust them, she is too weak to play with them, and Soona won’t get too close to the Echo if she doesn’t have to. It is almost like nature telling them it´s not possible to be allies. Noa wanted to believe in Ceasar´s words, that humans and apes can live together in peace. The true question was: could both species live in the same society? Or Ceasar only meant mutual respect from both separated communities?
Who was this Ceasar anyway? What was his story? He knew his beliefs, at least some of them, but he desired to know more about the ape. How come everyone except his clan knew about him? Raka said humans were intelligent and the dominant specie, and apparently Ceasar lived among them. If he truly believed that apes and humans could live together, that meant Ceasar knew kind ones, right?
“Apes together strong” he remembered. He could do both things, couldn’t he? Stay with apes and live among humans. “Kind of contradictory” he thought.
He was riding his horse through some trees, watching for any signs of Mae.
It was already dark, and he only had a torch with him. A few meters away, the male saw a yellow light and some smoke. A bonfire. He carefully got close, hoping it was Mae and not an ape, or worse, another human.
Trying to not make noise, Noa got off the horse and tied the reins to a near tree. He patted the animal a few times, before walking to the fire. Once he was close enough, the ape could distinguish the figure of a human woman. Mae.
“You didn’t say goodbye” Noa said, revealing himself to the Echo. The girl grabbed a spear and pointed to the ape in front of her.
“Noa” she said, lowering the weapon but keeping it in her hand.
“That is ours” he said.
“Yeah, I stole it”
“Classic human” said the ape, getting closer to the bonfire and sitting right across Mae “Scavenger”
“Shut up” she said with annoyance. Was he really dissing humans right now?
“You got far” Noa said.
“I´m fast”
“Where are you going, Mae? What is your plan?”
Mae felt vulnerable, not knowing what to do, where to go. She had to lie; she was good at that.
“There is a camp not far from here, I´ll be there tomorrow if—”
“Stop lying” he interrupted her.
“I am not lying”
“Yes, you are”
“Noa…”
“What happened to you?” he asked. His eyes were full of concern, sadness. He was so, so tired.
Mae stayed quiet for a minute. Could she really trust him? She knew she could, but the voices of the people in the bunker told her no.
“After you gave me the necklace, I came back to my home” she started talking before she could even think about it “I gave them the book, the one that could make humans speak again. They put me in quarantine in another place”
Noa gave her a confuse look.
“Quarantine is when you exile someone to see if they are sick” she explained.
“You are sick?”
“Not anymore. I contracted a virus, got a fever, they thought I was sick and that I would turn into... an Echo” the ape saw her eyes watered and felt the need to comfort her, but he stayed seated “They didn’t even test me. The guards and medical team left. I was trapped”
“They… locked you?”
“Yes. I was surprised they didn’t set the place on fire with me in it” she scoffed, wiping a tear in the corner of her eye “For a moment I thought I was sick too, that I was gonna loose my mind… but that didn’t happen. They only left me water, no food. I was there for almost sixteen days... I think. Then I scaped"
The ape didn’t know what to say. She got hurt by apes and humans. Noa imagined she felt alone, unable to trust, unable to love or be happy. He wanted to make Mae feel safe, but the Echo made it so difficulted.
“So, what now?” he asked. Maybe she was trying to go back to the humans, convince them that she was not sick, maybe they can take her back.
“I don’t know” Mae said.
“I can go with you” the ape said. The female looked confused, as if Noa had said something illogical.
“To where?”
“Back with the humans”
Mae sighed and put the spear on the ground, she grabbed her hair with both hands and looked at the sky.
“Or not” Noa said “I just want to make sure you… are safe”
“It´s not that” the human murmured “Noa... I can´t go back with them. They would kill me. They think I´m sick and that I will make them sick too”.
“But when they hear you speak”
“It would not matter”
“You are going to seek other Echoes?” Noa wished the answer was no, he really wanted Mae to stay, but he could see the desire in her eyes, that need to be with other humans. He could also see fear, fear of apes, which broke his heart.
“No” the male stayed still “Only they know the location of the others”
“Maybe… we could search for them”
“Ugh, Noa, the planet is huge”
Mae knew she was being a dick, of course the ape had not knowledge of the immensity of Earth, and even with that in mind she could not help but feel exasperated. She wanted to punch him, kick him, hug him… but it just wasn’t fair. She knew that getting the key was a dangerous mission, almost suicidal, they told her there was a possibility that she may not be allowed back at the bunker. “You can´t complain, they told you” She reminded herself.
The girl remembered her days in the quarantine zone, all alone, cold and hungry, looking for a way out. One day she hallucinated a baby chimp, resting in her arms, she called him Ceasar, just like that old legend; minutes later, the ape disappeared and Mae´s mom told her from the corner of the room “He is out there”. She knew nothing was real, that she was dying, that her mother and the baby were just a product of her brain. And even knowing that, she spent days breaking the crystal walls of her cell with all her strength. Once she freed herself, getting out of the bunker was easier, she only had to use her head and find a way to open the door.
“Don’t… cry” Noa´s words got Mae out of her thoughts. Was she really crying?
A hand flew to her face, almost completely wet from the tears. She also noticed the ape was next to her.
“Can I… come back… to the clan?”
Noa gave her a little smile.
“Always”

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Review. More like Rambling and Word Vomiting.
I saw it last night. Finally. After so long!
I personally thought it was good, and a solid addition to the POTA franchise. I don't think it's better than Dawn or War, but I'm willing to bet that by the time the full trilogy is out, Kingdom is gonna be looked back upon as a good beginning to Noa and Mae's story, the same way Rise, despite being most people's least favorite of the Caesar trilogy, is still an amazing intro to Caesar's story.
Some nitpicks. Despite the movie being 2.5 hours long, I felt like the final act came too fast? Like, I understand what people meant with the pacing issue. Suddenly we were in the 3rd act and I was like "Wait, we're here? It's done?"
Now, onto the characters! Let the fangirling commence!
Noa
I loved seeing how his journey and character started and where he ends by the end of the movie.
Him going from "That is the law" to "That is the law. But the law is wrong" was so satisfying.
And him being able to call the eagles to him by the end was great to see. By the way, THE SINGING SCENE WITH THE EAGLES???? LIKE???? It could've been so corny but I LOVED IT???
I'm so glad this movie answered the question of whether apes can sing. Yeah, I know they are only humming, but I'LL TAKE IT. APES CAN SING. YESSSS!
He was just a really nice character to follow. I can't wait to see how he'll be like in the next movie after the events of this one transformed him.
I also think he is the kind of protagonist we need after Caesar. I love Caesar, but Noa is....hmm, I guess you could say softer? More naive? I'm sure he'll get tougher as the movies progress like Caesar did, but I like this change.
Mae
I am a Mae defender. Yes, she did betray Noa in the end. I expected her to tbh. And I understand why she did it. She was right in that Proximus getting his hands on those weapons would've been disastrous.
She has probably been taught all her life nothing but bad things about the apes. She was not going to switch sides just because she met Noa. We still got two whole movies after this. She probably won't have her "redemption" until the 3rd movie. I can honestly go on rambling about her, but I'd rather save that for another separate post.
Raka
I really like him. He's great and funny. I love seeing how he talks about humans and his hopes for humans and apes.
Right before he dies, he reminds Noa "Together, strong." His final words and his necklace as a gift to Noa serve as a reminder. A reminder of a hopeful future where apes and humans can coexist. (And then Noa passing along that same necklace to Mae? Bringing a reminder of that hope for peace into her world? Ugh. So good.)
Also, "He was my village." LIKE. DID HE LOSE HIS PARTNER? MY HEART.
Proximus
I thought he was cool. He gave my mother and I a jump scare at the dinner scene where he slams his fist. Also, the way he was just in awe of the gun after Lightning dies. He has his priorities.
Soona and Anaya
Those two were so cute, and I loved their friendship with Noa.
Anaya broke my heart. In the beginning at the tunnel scene, he's all like "Anaya is not scared." But at Proximus's kingdom, he looks terrified at the dinner scene, and before he goes on the mission to climb the wall, he goes "Anaya is scared" and didn't want to go. Poor guy. He pulled through in the end though.
Although *puts on tinfoil hat* this makes me wonder if this foreshadows how his fear will lead him to make a big mistake in the future movies. Similar to what happened with Winter.
Soona was so sweet. Although I'm disappointed we didn't get more of her with Noa. I saw an interview where Soona's actress described a moment where after they are reunited, they kind of make known their feelings for each other or something like that. But...it didn't happen?
Mae and Noa
Alrighty, I'm gonna briefly put on my shipping goggles on, bear with me, because one has to be a teensy bit delusional for this type of stuff, BUT....
I sensed a....vibe? Not a romantic vibe. They are nowhere close to that yet. But I felt like there were tropes and scenes between them that simply imply a romantic path is a possible direction for their relationship. I will make a separate post about them. I wanna wrap this up, lol.
The ending
I liked the ending. It has me so excited for the future of this trilogy. Now that the humans are able to communicate with others, what will this mean? How will Mae be torn between her people and the apes? Same with Noa? I need to know naooooo
8.5/10 stars (I ain't done rambling about this movie yet. But it's my birthday, and I gotta go out and have some dinner, hehe).

Past:
You and Bradley didn't speak for a few days after your conversation at the beach, but you felt your cold shoulder beginning to fade when Bradley showed up at your door with a bunch of daisies in his hand, which he thrust at you as soon as you opened the door.
''What are these for?'' you asked.
''For whatever I did to piss you off, I'm sorry.'' he said genuinely, and it broke your heart that you'd made him think he'd actually done something wrong.
''It wasn't you, Bradley, I'm sorry for the way I acted.'' You apologised softly.
Bradley grinned and softly punched your shoulder, ''Besties again?''
You chuckled, ''Never stopped, Bradshaw.''
Things went mostly back to normal after that, with Bradley still spending most of his time with you. There was the odd occasion Michelle would call Bradley and ask to meet up, where he'd disappear for a while, only to reappear at your house the next day as if he never left.
Bradley didn't say much about Michelle around you, obviously sensing your dislike for her, but it became more and more obvious that they were getting closer and closer to doing the deed, when Carole let slip one night that Bradley had a romantic date planned for her.
You wanted to be sick at the thought, but instead you smiled at her and mumbled 'That's nice, hope you two have a good time.' as Bradley blushed a bright shade of crimson, you both going back to the lovely dinner Carole had cooked for you.
''So, what's this date you've told me nothing about?'' you chuckled as Bradley walked you home that evening, the cool air wafting his poofy dark hair over his eyes. He smoothed his hair back and chuckled awkwardly.
''It's nothing, just dinner. A picnic actually, up on the hill.''
''Are you gonna... you know?''
''Gosh I dunno, Birdy, what's with the interrogation?'' he flushed.
You were both quiet for a moment, until you neared your front lawn and looked up at him, ''For what its worth, I don't think she's right for you. I think you can do better, Rooster.''
Bradley was about to speak, when your dad walked outside.
''Ah, I'm glad you're both here. Can you two come inside for a second, we need to talk.'' your dad said sombrely, and you could see your mother in the hallway, her eyebrows creased.
''What is it, dad?'' you asked as you walked towards him.
''Just come inside.''

Present:
Your most important things were packed in a suitcase, the rest still in your apartment. You'd signed a year lease so you thought at the very least if things panned out, you could use it as a storage unit until things were set up in California.
The plane landed and your stomach was in knots. You hadn't told Bradley you were coming yet, and as you left the airport and got in a cab, you suddenly wondered if this was such a good idea.
It was too late to turn back when you decided it was, in fact, a very bad idea, because you were already pulling up outside of Bradleys bungalow. You took a deep breath as you paid the driver, and you swallowed down the nerves as you took your suitcase out of the trunk. You thought you were going to vomit as you walked up to the front door and knocked.
You waited for what felt like an agonisingly long time, but when the door finally swung open, you knew you'd made the right decision.
''Birdy?'' Bradley breathed in disbelief, his hands cupping his mouth as his eyes scanned your face.
''Hope that invitation is still valid.'' you joked sheepishly.
Bradley lunged forwards and swept you up in his big burly arms, you dangled helplessly like a doll in an overly early childs hands, and you chuckled as he buried his face in your neck.
When he finally put you down, you grinned up at him, and noticed his Adams Apple bobbing, he was trying not to cry.
''Oh, you big softie.'' you punched his shoulder and he chuckled, rubbing his eyes.
''I just can't believe you're here. I didn't think you'd come.''
''Well, are you gonna make me live out here on the porch or can I come in?'' you teased.
''Right! Come in, I have a room for you.'' Bradley stepped to the side and grabbed your suitcase. He gave you a quick tour of the little bungalow that you thought seemed too small for a man of his stature, and lastly to the bedroom he'd prepared, just in case you came.
''Wow, Brad, I thought you said you didn't think I was coming?'' you breathed. The room was already set up, pink floral duvet covers and fluffy pillows awaited you, a poster of your favourite boy band in school, and the canvas you'd painted with Bradley stood pride and centre on the wall.
''I know, but I hoped.'' he said simply.
You looked up at him and grabbed his arm, pulling him down to your height. You planted a soft kiss on his cheek and then wrapped your arms around his neck.
''Thank you.'' you whispered as you hugged him.
''Anything for my lil Bird.''
It took a while for you to let go, but when you did Bradley left you to unpack and relax for a while.
You walked around your room and smiled, it was simple and mostly empty, but it had a sense of home that your apartment in New York didn't have.
You sat on the bed and breathed in the smell of sea air wafting in through your windows.
Once you'd unpacked and changed into a more summery dress, you met Bradley in the lounge, the sound of a football match roaring through the speakers. Bradley turned the tv off as you walked in, smiling at you.
''California suits you.'' he grinned.
You swished your dress from side to side, ''Yeah, I think so too.'' you winked.
''How do you feel about meeting some of my friends?'' Bradley asked, as he stood and met you at the centre of the room. He stood over you, tauntingly close, the smell of his cologne teasing your nostrils.
''You mean that blond guy, Jake?'' you scrunched up your nose.
''There are others, I promise.'' he chuckled, cupping your face in both of his huge hands. He stared down at you so intently, for a moment you forgot where you were.
''Why are you looking at me like I'm not real?'' you breathed out a soft, awkward laugh.
''Because I'm scared you're not and I'm gonna wake up without you.'' he said earnestly. Your heart thudded against your chest as his face grew closer, his eyes dipping to your lips.
Knock Knock Knock
Bradleys front door suddenly interrupted you, and you both stepped back, looking at each other for a moment, before Bradley went to answer it.
''I may have texted the group that you're here, I think they took that as an invitation to come and meet you.'' he said apologetically. You laughed as he opened the door and 5 people walked in.
''Hello again little lady.'' Jake, the only one you recognised, grinned at you, toothpick between his teeth.
''Hi, Jake.'' you smiled politely back.
Bradley introduced you to the others as they filtered in, each toting various drinks and bags of snacks.
''This is Nat, Bob, Reuben, and Javy. You'll meet Mickey at some point but he's on his honeymoon at the moment.''
You said hello to everyone, and Nat pulled you in for a hug. She reminded you a lot of Gabby, and you suddenly remembered you needed to give her a call later.
''It's so great to finally meet you, Rooster has been talking about you for years!'' Nat laughed.
''Great to meet you too! Years, huh?'' you shot Bradley a quizzical glance, and he just rolled his eyes.
You all filtered out into the little back yard, where Jake and Javy fired up the grill as everyone got to know you, drinks at hand and before long laughter filling the little yard.
Bradley made his way over to where you and Bob were talking, slinking an arm casually over your shoulder as he took a swig of beer. He joined in the conversation and didn't notice as someone new walked out the back door.
Bob noticed first, and tapped Bradley on the shoulder, his eyes shooting over to the new comer to alert Bradley.
''Hi all!'' she chirped, ''The door was open, hope you don't mind if I join?''
Bradley groaned, moving his arm off of your shoulder as he turned to face her.
''Hey, Alice. Sorry I was gonna call you.'' he said awkwardly as he walked over to the leggy blond.
''Alice, this is my best friend, Y/N.'' He said introducing you with a grin.
And then half heartedly and with a sheepish look, he turned to look at you, ''Y/N, this is Alice... my girlfriend.''

Past:
“What do you mean? Why can’t you just do that job here?” You demanded.
You were sitting in your living room across from your parents, Bradley was next to you with his face in his hands.
“There isn’t a position here for me, Y/N. This job is going to sort out so much debt for us-“ your mom nudged your dad and shook her head to stop him from talking.
“Are we having money problems?” You asked softly.
Bradley lifted his head and looked around with furrowed eyebrows.
Your dad sighed, looked at your mom and she took over, “We’re fine, but we are struggling. This job is our only choice. I’m sorry, honey. I know it’s going to be difficult, but Bradley can come visit whenever and you can stay with them during summer vacation.”
Your parents left you shell shocked in your living room with Bradley, who just looked at you with wide, watery eyes.
“Well, I guess that’s it then…” you mumbled.
“No, it can’t be. I haven’t planned for a life without you, what am I supposed to do when you’re gone?” Bradley suddenly exploded, standing to his feet so quickly it startled you.
He began to pace, “I’m gonna… I’m gonna be stuck with Michelle as my only source of company.” He ranted.
“Isn’t that what you want?” You asked softly.
Bradley looked at you like you’d just asked the most stupid question ever, “No! God no! She’s boring, and stuck up, and rude, when I’m with her all I can think about is getting out.”
“Then why are you with her?” You shook your head in exasperation.
“Because… you don’t get it, Birdy. I’m the only one in my grade that hasn’t… you know. I needed someone experienced who I could do it with.” He groaned, sitting back down and putting his hands over his face.
“Brad, why didn’t you tell me that’s the only reason? If you’re gonna lose your… you know, it should be with someone you actually care about.” You said gently, placing a hand on the top of his arm. He lowered his hands and looked at you for a while.
Bradley sighed, “The only person in this whole damn town I care about is you.”
You were about to respond when your brother walked into the room and wailed dramatically.
“Have you heard the news? Our lives are over!”

Present:
“Girlfriend? Oh, hi, nice to meet you.” Your voice was small and shaky, and you had to clear your throat.
Bob noticed the awkward tension and was the first one to realise what was happening.
“Oh my god! Bradley talks about you non stop! So nice to finally meet you, girl!” Alice squealed, hugging you.
Bob cleared his throat, “Y/N, do you mind helping me grab some of the food from the kitchen?” Bob asked, looking you in the eye and giving you a signal.
You nodded and excused yourself, and as soon as you were in the kitchen, you let out a long shaky breath, tears prickling your eyes. You had just made a horrible mistake coming here.
“Hey, are you okay?” Bob asked, rubbing your back comfortingly.
“Yep. I just… I need to call someone. Excuse me.” You rushed off to your bedroom and closed the door, pressing your back up against it as you breathed through the sudden panic.
You found your phone on the nightstand and dialled Gabby’s number.
As soon as she answered, you began to sob uncontrollably.
“Y/N! What’s going on, can you breathe for me please?” She called over the phone.
You attempted to pull in a few short breaths until you were calm enough to speak.
“I’m such an idiot!” You cried.
“Why? What’s happening? You scared me when you left this morning.”
“I… I went to California. Bradley asked me to, so I did, I thought he wanted me here because he felt the same.” You sniffled.
There was a brief silence on the other end, “He doesn’t?” She sounded surprised.
“He has a girlfriend, Gabs, one he never told me about.”
“Ohhh, fuck. Have you met her?”
“Yeah, just now. I was so blindsided I must have come across as rude. I can’t believe I thought Bradley and I had any future, or that he loved me the way I love him. I’ve loved him for what feels like my whole life, Gabs, when am I going to realise I can’t have him?” You wept.
Suddenly the door creaked, and you turned around suddenly to face Bradley, who stood in the doorway with his mouth slightly ajar and his eyebrows furrowed, blinking rapidly as tears threatened to spill over.
“Oh my god.” You whispered. “Gabby I have to go.” You hung up and dropped your phone on the bed.
“Brad-“
He held up a hand to shush you, and edged into the room, closing the door behind him.
“Don’t speak.” He said as he crossed the room. He stood over you and a large hand came up to thread through your hair and cup your cheek.
A tear dropped down your face as you looked up at him, your lip quivering.
“Did you mean what you just said?” Bradley whispered, closing his eyes as his forehead came to rest against yours, your lips inches apart, his warm breath on your skin.
“Yes.” you croaked out. And that’s all you needed to say, because Bradley’s lips came crashing down on yours, taking your breath away. The room spun as your eyes widened, and then gradually fluttered shut.
His other hand cradled the back of your neck as he deepened the kiss, moaning into your lips.
The tears fell faster now as your heart felt as if it was exploding, the fireworks inside you turning your skin alight. You grabbed a fistful of Bradley’s shirt, holding on for dear life as the feeling you’d waited decades for was finally washing over you, better than you'd ever imagined, buckling your knees from underneath you.
Bradley’s hand moved from the back of your head to your lower back and he pulled you into him, holding you up, and still it wasn’t enough, you wanted more, desperate for more, hungry for more, but your conscious suddenly rocked through you like a bolt of lightning and you pushed against Bradley’s chest. You broke away from him with a gasp as you fought for breath. Your hand moved up to your chest to soothe the thrumming inside as you panted.
Bradley looked at you with a confused, longing expression, fighting for his own breath.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” Bradley demanded, his face flushed and lips beautifully swollen.
You bit your lip and shook your head before you breathed a laugh, “Would it have made a difference?”
“Yes, Birdy, it would have made all the difference.” He nodded, hands on his hips as he contemplated your words.
“Why didn’t you tell me you had a girlfriend before I flew out here?” You asked him sadly.
“I… I didn’t think it mattered. I didn’t know you felt that way.” He looked at his feet.
You shook your head again as you sighed, “I’ve loved you since that stupid moustache began to grow, Brad. In fact I think I loved you the second you saved me on my first day of school.” You breathed.
Bradley’s eyes shot up to meet yours, his bottom lip wobbled as he nodded, “Yeah, that’s about the same time I fell in love with you, too, Birdy.”
You opened your mouth to speak but a sharp knock rasped against your bedroom door and you jumped. The door opened and Bob poked his head through.
“Uhm… you guys should probably come outside.”
