Happy 19th Anniversary Pokémon XD, my favourite game ever!

To commemorate the occasion, I've spent the last week and a half hand painting the game's cover! It was a lot of work, but I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Just went to a local craft fair thing and saw the most overwhelmingly cool wall of crochet I’ve ever seen in person. Look at this stuff!! So many things!!! And this is less than 1/4 of what was there

The lady who crocheted all this said she’s not very tech savvy but recently started an Etsy, and I can attest (from seeing it in person) that her stitch tension and construction are excellent, so if you’re looking for any crocheted plushies or keychains, check it out!

She has some of those really cool Crafty Intentions pattern dragons for sale, if you’ve ever wanted a one of a kind dragon friend. They aren’t on her Etsy but were in her booth so if you’re interested you can probably send her a message on Etsy and ask?

Mini rant about fountain pen ink reviews and swatches on online stores.

I hate when stores only show a swab/ink muddler/eyedropper swatch. Sure it shows the properties of the ink, but what's this gonna do for me when most fountain pen inks are used to... I don't know... WRITE? Like I know some people do use them for traditional art and calligraphy, but I think there's a larger demographic of regular fountain pen uses with a f/m nib than someone who has a 2.3 mm nib.

Whatever, it's better than those who don't even post a swatch AT ALL. Like thanks for showing me what the packaging looks like. How am I supposed to imagine what it looks like on paperrrrr GOD HELP MEEE /lh Looking at you Ink Institute.

it’s almost planner season (aug through dec) and this is like. My Christmas. like i look forward to this all year, even if i don’t buy anything for the year, i like all the planner reveals and the cover reveals and stuff. and all the stationary! ok it’s so fun to me.

this year i got a hobonichi cousin that is mostly empty which is so sad, ive barely had use for it. so its really important to me I have a pen and paper planner but i may need to change it to something way smaller next year. i have a travelers notebook as my journal so maybe a 2025 travelers notebook panning system? the thing is, its so tiny. though i don’t have much going on anyway.

okay essay is almost done it’s almost hobonichi planner season and im so excited to see all the covers and art they made for the year and who they collaborated with and they do like a day by day reveal and it’s so fun to me oh my god. i won’t buy anything but i could easily spends hundreds of dollars, like happily.

Thank you so much! That means a lot! I'm assuming you mean with my traditional art sketches I've been posting recently. (I'm trying to finish up a old sketch book, I'm so close!) But honestly I go back and forth between being super neat or super messy and rough with my sketches, it just depends on my mood I guess. When my sketches are clean tho, I just draw very very lightly, which is something I had to learn how to do being naturally heavy handed, but it helps because after the gesture drawing is done and I start finalizing my lines, the draft sketch eventually fades away after working on it. A easier way is to get a pencil, lightly sketch the gesture, and getting a ball point ink pen to finalize your lines. Hopefully that helps, but draw however and whatever makes you most comfortable! Remember to take care of those wrists!
