You were extremely giddy. Ever since Spencer’s face was accidentally shown in one of your unedited videos, he’s been slowly coming around to the idea of being more involved with your channel. Of course, he had to be careful at times because of his job, so it started out small. You saw a trend on TikTok and practically begged Spencer to participate.

It was simple really. You would take a video of your makeup routine and then have Spencer do the voiceover without telling him the exact name of the method or technique you were doing. He was adorable with it, truly, and because of this, the internet went absolutely berserk. Comments ranged from awe to thirsting over his voice, and you didn't blame them. It was this uproar of engagement that sparked the idea of actually having him in a real video for your channel.

Spencer was apprehensive at first– he was still a bit camera shy, but after your reassurance that the people will love him, he agreed, wanting to help and support you in any way possible. When he asked about the video you had in mind and the words “trivia game” were thrown around, his eyes lit up and even offered for Penelope to go over to your apartment to be the one reading the questions so that it could be a fun game between the two of you.

When the camera was set up, ring lights on, and Penelope curled up on the big comfy chair behind the scenes, it was show time.

“Hello, lovelies!” Your intro went as usual, and as you spoke, you could see Spencer in your peripheral, staring at you with a gentle smile on his face. After about a minute of talking, you took a breath and turned your head to his. “You're probably wondering who this hunk of brains is next to me… this is Spencer, my boyfriend!”

Spencer finally took a glance at the camera and gave a thin smile with a shy wave. “Hi.”

A giggle erupted from you and Penelope, which resulted in your eyebrows jumping up. “And behind the camera is the magical woman I am stealing to be my best friend–” your words were slightly interrupted by a soft “hey” coming from Spencer, “Penelope!” You gave another smile to the camera before going on to explain what you were doing in the video. “Today we are putting our brains to battle in some fun trivia! Penelope will be reading us pop culture trivia and whoever answers first correctly gets a point. The prize is… bragging rights?” Your eyebrows pulled together. You forgot to think of that part, but a smile erupted once Penelope spoke from behind the camera.

“Oh! What if Spencer has to be in three in your TikTok videos if you win, and if he wins, he gets to tweet from your twitter!”

“Penny, you're a genius!”

Penelope was bashful as Spencer held a confused expression. “Tweet?”

“Oh boy wonder,” Penelope started, “I’ll show you the ins and outs if you get that far.”

Once again, Spencer let out a soft “hey” in response.

Noticing his semi-hurt expression, a pout formed on your lips and you gently placed your hand on his thigh, immediately feeling him relax under your touch and shift his body more towards yours. “It’s okay, baby. I believe in you.”

It was like he couldn't help himself. He leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead, causing stars to appear in your eyes and a small “eek!” to come from Penelope's mouth. The sound startled Spencer, making a blush appear on the apples of his cheeks. He cleared his throat and muttered, “shall we start?”

Shaking yourself from the starry place he sends you, you turned back to the camera. “Right! Well, Pen, we’re ready whenever you are.”

“Okay, first question. ‘Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?’ is a classic movie line from what 1985 John Hughes film?”

A millisecond barely went by before words were spewing out of Spencer’s mouth, “The Breakfast Club!”

You knew he was right, so you weren't too disappointed when Penelope called out as correct. “Okay, next one,” she said, marking a tally under Spencer’s name on a small whiteboard on her lap. “What five members make up the band *NSYNC?”

You were practically shouting out the answer before she finished the question, “Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick!”

“Correct!”

“Yes!” You jumped up from the couch, only aware of your overexcitement after looking down at Spencer and seeing the complete awe plastered on his face. “Sorry…” You sat back down with a shy smile on your face, but Spencer just shook his head, folding his lips in.

“Don't be,” he started, “you're cute when you're excited.”

“Yeah, excited to destroy you,” you said sassily.

A scoff soon followed from Spencer, “oh, it’s on.”

“Shall I continue?” Penelope spoke up, trying not to interrupt their moment. She only asked the next question when both parties on the couch gave a nod. “Which member of One Direction was the first to go solo?”

And the game continued. Honestly, you thought you had this win in the bag, but as it progressed, you became increasingly worried. Who knew your genius boyfriend was pretty well-versed in pop culture trivia? It was the end of the game when the two of you inevitably tied, and Penelope was basically on the edge of her seat as she prepared to give you the last question.

“Okay, tie breaker. This is for the win.”

As much as you love each other, you were both in it to win it. You two were also too focused to realize the mirroring positions you had. Both hunched over with your hands clasped as your arms resting on your knees, bottom lip tucked between your teeth, and eyebrows scrunched together (once the video is uploaded the comments have a field day with this… you guess that's what happens when you live with someone for a while).

You knew the answer… deep, very deep in your mind, you knew, but before you could even reach those depths, Spencer was standing up with wide eyes. “Oh! I know this one. It’s Twilight!” When Penelope told him he was right, he let out a loud “ha” as he looked at you and pulled your sitting body into a hug. It was an awkward hug, but a hug nonetheless.

As he was squeezing your shoulders, you moved your head up so that your chin was resting on his stomach. Your eyebrows knit together wondering how the hell he knew that, and once he came down from his high he loosened his grip and sat back down, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck. “We uh, had a case that involved the topic of vampires to come up… I was intrigued and learned a lot about the series.”

You just smiled and pecked his nose with your lips. “Your brain is insane and I love it.”

He ducked his blushed face down and Penelope cleared her throat, prompting the two of you to remember your surroundings and the camera placed in front of you. “So the winner is Spencer!”

Letting out a sigh, you gave a nod and opened up Twitter before starting a new post and handing your phone to Spencer. “It’s all yours, lover boy. Write what you want– there is a word limit, though.”

He held your phone for a moment, staring at the screen as he pursed his lips. It was only a few seconds later until he started typing away. After about a minute, he pressed the button to send the tweet, and you immediately heard an “awe” come from Penelope as she looked at her phone. Looking down at the app, you took a peek at what he wrote, and your heart was ready to burst.

Seeing the discourse about blaming Polin fans for the reception to Simone’s new movie, but be aware that it’s toxic KA fans making tweets calling her new costar ugly. You and your friend read the captions of the tv

When the sea of Hockey players had dispersed infront of him he was left with a crystal clear view of you.

You give him a soft smile but he’s still stood staring at you as if you’re about to disappear.

He stutters before he says “I love you”

“Say it again” you whisper, both of you inching closer to one another.

“I love you” he’s stern in his words, you’re now right infront of him and he’s looking down at you before he says “Say it back”

His shoulders drop, almost in relief and he’s let out all the tension. His stick drops to the floor I along with his gloves and his hands grab your cheeks and kisses you.

After you pull away, both breathless he smiles “You were here? All night?”

“Yeah I watched the game”

“Maybe the broadcast was right” he jokes and you shake your head “not funny”

I know plenty of people don’t care about the current Dream situation (especially since I barely post about MCYT stuff anymore, especially anything DSMP related) but this man frustrates me to no end!!!

I’m gonna ramble about his shitty manipulation tactics for a bit. I’m gonna throw it all beneath a cut so you can scroll past easy if you aren’t interest.

I know basically everyone on this side of the internet knows Dream is a massive, manipulative twat. I doubt none of this will be a surprise to anyone. But idk, I present an incomplete list (in no particular order) of bullshit tactics Dream uses to twist the narrative in his favour!

1) making his first response on Reddit.

This is a place where only his most devoted fans congregate and most notably *not* where the controversy is occurring. If he wanted to properly apologise or address the situation he would do that in the exact same place the controversy occurred — his Twitter account. But of course he doesn’t want his fans to really know what’s going on, he wants to control the narrative, that’s why he has not said anything on Twitter, it’s why he went to Reddit of all fucking places!

2) doing everything within his power to avoid mentioning the controversy!

It’s unavoidable at times but he did spend a 3hr long stream avoiding the topic of the r-slur as much as humanly possible. Again, he wants to control the narrative and convince his fans to take his side, it’s easier to do that if he doesn’t address the actual problem at hand here — you see this a lot with YouTuber Apologies, you get a lot of “I made a severe and continuous lapse in judgement” type comments, but what is a “severe and continuous lapse in judgement”? — it could be anything from a few old tweets resurfacing or filming dead bodies… hard to say when you don’t already know the context.

3) bringing up old drama in an attempt to muddy the waters as much as possible.

Yes, Tubbo mentioned a handful of old controversies in his response to Dream’s tweets. Dream’s stream was a reaction to Tubbo’s and I’m not gonna blame him for mentioning these topics when they’re being brought up. The reason Tubbo mentions them is to provide further context around why he takes so much issue with Dream. Dream then proceeds to use this mentioned context as the crux of his response. As I mentioned in point 2 he avoids the topic of the r-slur as much as possible but he fixates on things like his drama with Quackity and Tommy and the accusations that he’s a groomer/pedophile. These aren’t relevant to the situation at hand and it just makes the whole 3hr stream more confusing!

4) he uses old drama as a way to garner sympathy for himself.

He mentions so many different controversies during that stream (and in his response to Tommy) and to an outside perspective it sounds like he’s being bombarded from all angles with wild accusations!! It makes him sound like the victim here, the one who is constantly under attack. He’s also been doxxed in the past and had false allegations thrown at him.. something he weaponises constantly and uses to further his victim complex.

5) deflecting blame as much as possible

I lost count of how many people he name dropped in that stream. But basically Dream isn’t to root of his own problems, he’s never done anything wrong in his life, it’s Tommy and Tubbo and Jack and Aimsey and Quackity and whoever else who hate him and are preying on his downfall (/sarcasm.) They are also bad people in their own right!! I very specifically remember him claiming that Tubbo was a bad person behind the scenes — did he show an ounce of evidence, of course not, but Tubbo’s awful guys trust him on this!! (/sarcasm again) he also did this in his immediate response when he mentioned having autism and thus being allowed to use the r-slur “it’s okay, I’m not problematic, I’m autistic and have a r-slur pass!”

6) feigning ignorance

In his Reddit post he claims to not understand the rules of slur reclamation. Maybe he doesn’t, idfk, but he knows that word is a slur and he knows he was using it as an insult… whether he understands the nuances of when that word is and is not okay is beside the point, at the very core of this controversy Dream was being an dickhead and that is what people have issue with.

Tommy mentions the sexist comments that were thrown around between Dream and his friends. Now as far as I’m away there’s no screenshots of these sexist comments, this is all word of mouth, things Tommy and Jack have repeatedly mentioned whenever Dream is a topic of conversation. I’ll be the first to admit I very blindly trust Tommy and Jack on this one, but I trust them because I can see how Dream and his friends act on stream and based on the way they present themselves I think they’re dodgy as fuck! I mean look at this entire post, at the way Dream consistently manipulates the truth and puts everyone else down.. those are behaviours that as consistent with misogynistic people, of course I believe Tommy when he says Dream and his friends said some sexist shit in group chats. But yes, this is word of mouth and Dream is using that to his advantage. He laughs and claims he has no idea what Tommy is talking about. Again, maybe he doesn’t, I don’t think many misogynistic people think they’re misogynistic, but Tommy isn’t pulling this out of his ass, these are claims he’s been making for months at this point!!

7) everyone’s doing this to promote their projects

This whole controversy did not begin to promote anything. Dream inserted himself in a random Twitter beef and blindsided everybody else with his bullshit. Yes, Tommy and Jack have proceeded to promote their own projects, in my personal opinion I don’t actually give a shit. I also didn’t care that Dream promoted his own shit during his video — Tommy mentioned it, Tommy made his own little ad, fuck it, Dream can too. What I will say though is that Dream criticises Tommy for doing this and in the same breath promotes his own merchandise which is rather hypocritical. I’d also argue that Dream’s merch plug is a lot slimier than Tommy and Jack’s because Dream starts trying to garner sympathy because his small, family business isn’t doing that well :((

8) takes everyone’s words out of context

Dream’s response to Tommy is entirely made of clips and screenshots that he cherry picks from. You can see this most clearly when he uses Tubbo’s words to support his own argument, using clips where Tubbo agrees that Dream has been unfairly criticised in the past and cutting out moments where Tubbo criticises him.

When Tommy mentions that Dream harasses his mother Dream plays this up a lot. He sits there for 30 seconds telling the audience to picture what they think harassment is and to get ready for his grand reveal!! Of course when you see a single message it’s going to seem a little underwhelming. He ignores the fact Tommy’s mum was struggling through a divorce during that time and that this message is MASSIVE, unhinged, a criticism of her son and most importantly unsolicited. Even if it’s only a single message it’s still harassment.

There’s one rant he goes on during his stream about a time Tommy started spreading false rumours amongst friends about somebody (unnamed) in the DSMP being a pedophile. Eventually Tommy is pulled aside by Wilbur who gives Tommy a big lecture about how those sorts of rumours can cause major problems and shows him how to properly handle them. What Dream neglects to mention is how old Tommy was at the time of this incident. That makes a big difference Y’know? Tommy doing this at age 16 is wildly different to Tommy doing this at age 20. Dream also mentions the fact Tommy used to be friends with Logan Paul before turning against him. Again, he refuses to give context here, he presents it like a massive backstab on Tommy’s part, or that Logan was a scumbag!

And there’s probably other shit as well. Lies and misinformation that I can’t possibly keep up with, nor do I even care to keep track of it!

So al was asking ppl to ask her questions as her Fridays are so dull while her partner doing a play. So, I saw this as it was happening on Friday, and...yeah. I'm not sure what the impetus behind this random Insta AMA was (perhaps PR suggesting that Anna do something to counter her rash of recent off-putting social media posts?), but whatever the reason, choices™ were definitely made with some of (well, most of) her answers.

I think what struck me about the ones in these screenshots is how they’re lowkey insulting to Michael, but all in different ways (and not overtly, but passive-aggressively, as hyperfixating-rn-brb mentioned). It also seems odd that AL is currently in London, one of the most dynamic and attraction-filled cities imaginable, yet acting as if there is nothing to do on a Friday night. (Because Michael (and/or Georgia) aren't there to entertain her, I guess?)

Leaving that aside, the entire way this happened was just strange. A lot of the questions felt very boilerplate ("Are you currently reading anything?" "Who is your biggest inspiration?") and almost like they were planned in advance (I think at least one actually was from someone AL knows personally, IIRC), yet interspersed with enough "wacky" questions to give the impression of it being this spontaneous Q&A thing.

As for the answers in the screenshots above, I saw people on Twitter getting outraged over the "girly" question on Saturday, but predictably for all the wrong reasons. In particular, I noticed people once again blaming Michael/David shippers for it, but just from the wording alone, my feeling was that whoever sent in this question did not seem to be a shipper at all. "Girly" has a very specific, borderline homophobic connotation to it (akin to someone asking Anna if she "acts dykey" around Georgia), and while I know English is not her first language, I don't think that meaning is something AL would have missed.

So, no, it's certainly not a great or appropriate question by any means. But the bigger issue, at least in my opinion, wasn't so much "Why would someone ask this?", but rather "Why would she post this?" Because Anna is a grown woman who could have very easily just ignored this question altogether. Instead, she chose to draw attention to it, and to react in much the same way as her "vagueblogging" from the other day. It was as if the purpose in sharing it was to show people what she has to "put up with"--either from the fans or from Michael or both.

That's the other piece of this--that she shared this question with seemingly no regard for how it makes Michael look, or whether it would or could be embarrassing to him. It immediately made me think of this tweet from Michael two years ago, where he chose to answer a question in such a way as to deliberately not embarrass David (further explanation can be found here). It's something that seems so small but means so much, and that you'd think would happen effortlessly for someone you love. So the contrast of that to Anna posting this was striking to me, and it was further compounded by her answer to the "favorite bird" question.

Again, it's almost unsurprising at this point. Anna has previously made unflattering comparisons between Michael and Cousin Itt, a Hobbit, and Hagrid--among others--and now we can add a cockatiel to this list. What’s weird is that the question itself had nothing to do with Michael, so there was absolutely no reason to bring him into it...and yet. It felt like name dropping for the sake of name dropping, which just seems like a weird thing to do when she's been dating him for five years now. Did she think we forgot? That we needed a reminder? Whatever the reason, this definitely seemed like such a strange choice, and another instance of passive-aggressively putting him down under the pretense of a compliment.

(A note about the "protective" part, as I noticed that was particularly mentioned in this Ask. I would agree that there are a lot more overt/visible instances of Michael being protective of David--many of which I have talked about on my blog--than of Anna. That does not mean I don't think he is protective of her, however, but that there is a distinction between the two. It is possible to be protective of someone out of a sense of responsibility and obligation, and those are not necessarily bad things. But it's very different to being protective of someone not because you feel like you have to be protective, but because you want to be. Interpret that how you will...)

Finally, I just need to mention that one of the questions AL was asked was about Georgia ("Is Georgia secretly holding you hostage?"), and what I have hardly seen anyone talking about is that Georgia reshared that Insta story a short while later...and added a song called "I'm Trapped"...

I just...was this meant to be shady on Georgia's part? Who, exactly, is "trapped" here? The subtext and potential implications can go in so many directions here that it's hard to know where to start, but...yeah. The optics of Georgia resharing this story and adding that song in the middle of AL's Insta Q&A were and are questionable/cringey/unintentionally hilarious on multiple levels.

Imo this is the most likely event for Sunday, and let me explain why. (leaks from the QSMP discord)

First of all, earlier Quackity mentioned being on a plane. Why is this relevant? Well the only way to get to Korea is by plane. However, 14 hours later, he tweeted that he had lied about the plane. Now why would he do this?

This is, of course, because BTS had been testing the mod and realized that Korean wasn't working. For some reason, whoever coded the translate mod had mixed up the language files and replaced Korean with Spanish, specifically Spanish with a Korean accent. (Tbf I don't blame them, the file was named something like QSMP_language_file_v3_finalFINALVERSION_KOR_Korean_Hangul_Accented_Spanish_ESPANOL, and obvi if ur screen is small the last part would get cut off).

Now Quackity is in a predicament. He's very smart, obviously, so he cancelled his plane immediately and actually got a 70% refund even though he was technically canceling within the 24hr window. And then he got in a call with admins. I was actually in this call (they added me on accident) and although I don't speak or understand Spanish I was able to comprehend everything perfectly (they were speaking English).

Basically, they were screwed. BTS themselves had scheduled out time to make a guest appearance on the QSMP, this was huge! MASSIVE!! But the translator wasn't working: what were they going to do? Now naturally my first instinct was oh, well they can speak English, right? But I should've held in my trust of Quackity and the entire admin team, bcuz their creativity and problem solving is as always off the charts.

One of the admins (not going to name anyone for privacy reasons) had been doing a project on their spare time. Eggsonas, of course, have been a trend on and off since the first adoption day. And this admin had been making all sorts of models. It just so happened, by a stroke of luck, that they had made 7 bts eggs!!!!! Everyone was so excited about it, the entire call was shouting for a good minute lol. I actually had to take out my earbuds.

Eggs, of course, cannot speak. This solved the translator problem flawlessly, as the sign and book translators were working as normal. It also gave the BTS members an extra 2 hours to play on the server! (previously their managers had allocated 2 hours for them to find/create minecraft skins, which obviously is now unneeded.) It's a win-win-win.

Now on to analyzing the teasers: firstly, you'll notice the Update accounts tweets. These are, of course, referencing how bts have both touched and eaten ice and ice cream. Also, as true fans will know, bts just recently broke their freezer and had to mop everything up. It's a nice red herring given the previous ice imagery in teasers, and we all know Quackity loves his trickery.

Secondly, the seven outlined in grass. Grass has been a prominent feature in many BTS music videos. Some say it's even a staple of their work. For example, in their 4th music video there is grass on the ground, to represent how growing up has made them more grounded. Nextly, the seven. Obviously there are seven members, but combined with grass this is actually a double hint: BTS was active for seven years between 2013 and 2020 during which they released songs. This is a special number for them because of these events.

Now obviously, I don't have all the answers. My prediction on the discourse, for example, was completely made up. But i hope this gives you all a sense of what to expect come Sunday. (also please don't tell any qsmp admins I'm leaking this info 😭😭😭😭)

Public Shock as Megumi Fushiguro Refuses to do Promotional Video

The Jujutsu Kaisen star says he “doesn’t understand” why he was “suddenly grouped differently” for the interviews

The entertainment world was shaken on Monday when the Jujutsu Kaisen official twitter account announced that they were cancelling their planned promotional interviews due to “lack of participation” on the actors’ parts. While fans were outraged and demanded to know what happened, Megumi Fushiguro took a leap, stepped out, and took the blame.

“Stop sending hate mail to the cast,” he tweeted. “I chose not to be part of the interviews, and my friends stood with me. There were some problems, but we’re working through them.”

The star went on to explain via replies that he felt the groupings for the interviews were problematic, and that there was a simple solution that he’d like the promotions team to employ.

In an interview with Electric Magazine, he said, “I don’t understand why I was suddenly grouped differently. For every other interview I did, specifically those for season one, I was grouped with characters and actors I was connected with – Yuji, Nobara, Satoru, whoever. Season two has brought in a few minor characters, including my character’s biological dad… I just don’t think my character should be grouped with his biological dad over his friends.

“Promotions thought it was a good idea to group our characters together because in the show, we’re related. But it doesn’t work like that. My character hates his dad, why are they putting us in an interview together?”

Fushiguro also specified that he meant no hate towards Toji, the man who plays his character’s father in the show, but he thought it made little sense for their characters to be in the same interview.

Other cast members also stepped in with messages of support for Fushiguro, including co-star Yuji Itadori and adoptive father Satoru Gojo.

“Biological relations mean nothing when someone has been abandoned. This may seem overdramatic to some, but these interview groupings are an insult to adoptive, found, and loving family,” the famous actor wrote.

“No-one should have to bring up their personal life in public to have their voice heard. Everyone who has a brain would know these groupings are completely wrong. Stay strong Megumi, you’re doing the right thing,” Shoko Ieri replied to the emotive post.

“good for you megumi. stand up to those ignorant idiots,” Nobara Kugisaki tweeted, complete with a picture of her and Fushiguro together.

“Megumi’s character already has a dad. Biological does not mean family. Things will never be right until the producers understand this,” wrote Itadori.

“I will not being doing the interview until Megumi can do his,” was Kento Nanami’s bold stance.

Amongst a split and conflicted fanbase, the official twitter simply tweeted, “We did not realise our actors would feel strongly about their interview groups and we had no intention to offend. The groups will be fixed ASAP and hopefully the interviews will go ahead.”

Many viewers felt this was an unfeeling response to Fushiguro’s genuine problem, with one even replying, “This just proves that the industry doesn’t care. It’s not about whether the interviews can go ahead, it’s about why it was deemed appropriate to group Megumi with a minor, unrelated character in the first place.”

Outcry against the producers and promotions teams seemed endless, with #jjkpromo and #staystrongmegumi trending for weeks across all platforms. Most felt that it had been a stupid decision from the start, since Megumi was a main character and should therefore be with the other main characters regardless of who he was related to. Others felt that extra sensitivity was needed due to Fushiguro’s own background, which was clearly the root of his ‘interview strike’.

“Yeah, I’m adopted,” he told Electric Magazine. “And yeah, that’s probably why I care so much. But the point stands. This character is unrelated to mine; this character is a minor, abusive father who my character despises. It’s not okay to normalise healing those relationships or still associating these people together.

“If I was someone who was abandoned by an abusive father – and I’m not, but many people are – how would I feel to know that the media still considers us family? How would I feel knowing that society prioritises that biological relationship over the connections I’d built with my friends?

“I guess this could be seen as overdramatic. It’s just an interview. I know. But it represents so much more; it’s a signal flare from the media and I’m not willing to let it go past me.”

Eventually, even Toji stepped forward, tweeting, “I’ve been quiet because I don’t know what to say, but I see I need to say something. Megumi is right to protest this grouping. I thought it was odd that we were put together as we don’t even share any scenes, but I see know it could have become weaponised. #istandwithmegumi.”

remembering how wu treated the ninja in the early seasons he was always very critical of them and constantly reminded them of how important it was that they figure out how to master their powers and how to improve them. as funny as it is to poke fun at how wu was always super vague and secretive about things for the most part that’s what inevitably always helped the ninja understand how to master abilities on their own little to no guidance

egalt’s critical and harsh teachings is what eventually helped nya and kai figure out how to do the rising dragon technique on their own without constant reassurance that it’s fine if they mess up. because them constantly messing up the technique wasn’t fine- they were on a time crunch and they needed to learn quickly which led to nya comparing it to an old game they use to play together and using that to help guide kai into completing the technique

arin being taught with ras’s lesson was the thing that got him to fully understand how to do proper spinjitzu and i can’t blame him for being sour with lloyd about it when he was amazed by his ability to do it

in some circumstances whoever is the teacher needs to add some level of stress to the task at hand and not coddle their student in order for them to learn what they need to do to fix whatever issue it is that’s plaguing them, which is the opposite of what lloyd is doing

he’s being too nice to arin, sparing his feelings and not giving criticism where it’s needed in order for arin to figuring it out by himself. this constant need to reassure arin that everything, including his failures, is alright was the exact thing holding him back from understand what he needed to learn

This is going to be a silly confession because I genuinely feel this topic is a dead horse, but my concern is of the mental health of stans in this aprt of the Internet, so here it goes. Some solo Tom fans are not really fans of who he is, but what they want him to be.

There is a blog who I dont want to mention cause I feel that they are entitled to their opinions, who seem very frustrated that Tom is allegedly doing SM4 and that fans aren't outraged with the fact his career isn't being steamrolled into prestige cinema outside the machine of MCU.

These fans are similar to CE fans, no shade.

I can understand the frustration cause Chris Evans fans also were in annoyance with the state of his career, post MCU. Chris Evans fans also hate his wife too so there's that, lol. Some Tom fans dislike the fact that he is just with Z and has no identity outside of it other than being a bf. Valid to some degree.

Now, let's bring some reality back into this. Stans need to understand that they don't know what Tom doing behind the scenes. They don't know what's in his head or his personal feelings. That tweet I linked was a very good observation in Stan culture cause some fans genuinely believe that Tom's accomplishments and actions are linked to them. It's a scary position to be cause now you are on the Internet spewing negativity towards tomdayas or anyone who celebrates their relationship and are in bubble cause you all lack nuance.

To be fair, Tom isn't taken seriously as an actor. Him doing a play is the best way to be taken seriously cause the theatre is the actors medium. He signed to do a 4th film for the MCU. First of all...Whew! Those tweets! WOW! Can I say? Completely, 100% agree. 👏🏾 This is what is at the crux of stan culture and social media addiction, and celebrity obsession.

I agree. I think there are SOME fans of Tom who are truly genuinely fans of his, but they want his career to look a different way, or to be what THEY want it to be, instead of just letting go of control, being a passive fan, and allowing his career to be whatever it's going to be.

One thing about me is that I'm usually a passive fan of whoever I'm a fan of. While I would love my faves to do certain roles, I'm not out here getting angry or upset if they aren't doing roles that I personally would love to see them do. I just go with the flow. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cute, adorable, and lovely that Tom is so supportive of Z, and some of the cute things they do in their relationship is just really adorable and makes us all believe in love again. 🥰

The PROBLEM that I'm seeing though is that Tom isn't autonomous from his relationship and his career. It's cool that fans want to stan Tom because of his cute "boyfriend" behaviors, but Tom is first and FOREMOST an A-C-T-O-R. An actor should be admired for their career and their WORK, NOT their relationship. The relationship is just the icing on the cake (imo). 🤷🏾‍♀️

I think the problem is that some stans are mainly associating Tom with his relationship, and aren't really giving credit to his career and his work. That's demoralizing imo. And their work culture is super toxic capitalism that glorifies working super long hours, so smoking allows for breaks and is a means to cope with stress. Alcohol consumption is huge there too not just celebs everyone. So yeah, there is no correlation. Plus, our little introvert likes to drink at home. I’m sure he goes out sometimes, but Jungkook seems to be a homebody like me. But sure, he’s meeting all these women at clubs and bars and hooking up way them in the name of “fuckboy lifestyle”. I’ll say it again, that I think his musical direction lately caused an uptick in these people. remember that screenshot of a tweet that starts with someone saying it would be funny if a movie started out as a stereotypical campy horror movie but the protagonist leaves the situation instead of getting involved in the horror and the story becomes a romcom instead and then some absolute idiot comes along about how whoever thought that would be funny is a bad person who must victim-blame in real life? i hate that person. what a jackass. what an absolute idiot who thinks their idiocy makes them smart and woke and better than other people. i feel confident writing off that person as a stupid jackass based on just those stupid tweet screenshots, because who will stop me anyways
