this is me just speculating based off seeing him act in mcc (as of season 2 specifically) and what people have said about him but he was so caught up in the competition aspect of the event that he never really tried having fun with it like a lot of other people did; he got so in his head and wanted to be the best he could be at every game that he never seemed to sit back and relax and just play the game

with things like funneling every time he was in dodgebolt because he believed he was better at making the shots than his other teammates so they could secure wins even in non canon events like pride mcc where it didn’t even count to his individual mcc score

i’ve been sour towards dreams behavior in mcc longer than i’ve disliked him for the things he’s done; honestly without him in the event maybe finally mcc will feel like a fun event again and not just “oh [thing] was biased against dream let’s attack scott and noxcrew because clearly they have a bias against him specifically”. that shit was mega exhausting to deal with on twitter and it came directly from his fanbase so this is a good thing in more ways than one to me because it also gets rid of the absolutely needless drama after almost every event

the thought of lloyd staying/living at garmadon’s monastery during his time off being the golden/green ninja

how we got to see how lived in his room was in s4 with the takeout noodle box and comics on the floor, as well as posters on the wall and the light sticks from s2. his room is a little messy but it shows that he was comfortable here and that he let himself to take up space

thinks about how for just a short while lloyd was allowed to live and have a routine with his family, his parents, for the first time ever and have a place to call home whenever he came back from his duties, something he probably thought would never happen as a young child

yes he misses the ninja+nya and always wonders what they’re up to, but for once he’s allowing himself to indulge and spend time with his parents like he always fantasized about, a dream he never thought could be a reality

just.. the thought of lloyd finally having a sense of normalcy in his life— his father newly uncorrupted and at peace with life and his mother whom he couldn’t be happier to be reunited with all together under one roof without any outside threats tearing them apart again

it’s something so nice and intimate i wish we could’ve had more of it :(

thinking about the scene in ep 19 where the ninja are sneaking in imperium and it cuts to wyldfyre vocalizing her little sneaking theme and when lloyd asks kai to do something about it he just enables her further and they both start doing it oh my god i love them theyre so stupid i need a thousand more scenes just like this

person on twt i follow is having a field day with calling garmadon an abusive father because of everything he did from s8 onwards and im clawing at the walls wailing because i’ve convinced myself that revived garm isn’t the garmadon we knew from s1-5 and is a separate entity entirely and the only shares his name

like yeah it’s sort of his body but ITS NOT HIM THOUGH it’s the embodiment of his evil from the venom, the garmadon we knew died during the demise of the cursed realm, whhatever it is that was revived in s8 definitely isn’t the garmadon who would’ve moved mountains in order to avoid fighting against his son in the final battle because he loved him so much

revived garm and original garm are two entirely different beings i can’t fathom how anyone could lump them together under the same title of “lloyd’s dad”

i have a fascination with the idea of lloyd hiding his face from the public even after the others have long since shown theirs for convenience sake [x]

something about wanting to separate his personal likeness from the title of green ninja and instead keeping the green ninja as this faceless hero people can look up to and pin all their hopes on

he wants there to be a degree of separation between lloyd garmadon the person and the prophesied green ninja sworn protector of ninjago

this is mostly me projecting the idea of lloyd having a complicated relationship with the green ninja title and feeling weighed down by it at times, mainly because his life has predominantly revolved around the prophecy and only progressively gotten worse since his powers were awoken

thinking about it too much sends him almost into a spiral about who he really even is as an individual separated from his powers and title, feeling selfish if his mind tries pinning blame on the prophecy for taking away the life he just barely started living— because so many people depend on him that wishing he never had the power at all is an incredibly selfish thought to have to him

lloyd can’t imagine anyone else but him filling in the role of the green ninja because the prophecy has been so interwoven with his life pretty much since birth that it’s impossible for him comprehend someone else going through the struggles he’s had to experience so far in his life, he wouldn’t wish any of that to be placed onto another soul

the ones that have tried taking the title for themselves (kai and morro) likely wouldn’t have been suited to properly handle all the things that came from being the green ninja, or at least wouldn’t have handled them in such a selfless way like lloyd did.

so with the control that he does have he makes it a point that lloyd garmadon is not the green ninja, and instead keeps the two identities as separated as possible

saw this tweet and it made me think about how gentle lloyd’s teachings skills are and how too easy he was on arin

to me i feel like lloyd needs to learn he has to be more critical and “mean” to arin and let him figure things out on his own without the constant “you can do it i believe in you! :)” assurance because it doesn’t tell arin what to do to actually fix his issues with learning complete spinjitzu or using his object spinjitzu

remembering how wu treated the ninja in the early seasons he was always very critical of them and constantly reminded them of how important it was that they figure out how to master their powers and how to improve them. as funny as it is to poke fun at how wu was always super vague and secretive about things for the most part that’s what inevitably always helped the ninja understand how to master abilities on their own little to no guidance

egalt’s critical and harsh teachings is what eventually helped nya and kai figure out how to do the rising dragon technique on their own without constant reassurance that it’s fine if they mess up. because them constantly messing up the technique wasn’t fine- they were on a time crunch and they needed to learn quickly which led to nya comparing it to an old game they use to play together and using that to help guide kai into completing the technique

arin being taught with ras’s lesson was the thing that got him to fully understand how to do proper spinjitzu and i can’t blame him for being sour with lloyd about it when he was amazed by his ability to do it

in some circumstances whoever is the teacher needs to add some level of stress to the task at hand and not coddle their student in order for them to learn what they need to do to fix whatever issue it is that’s plaguing them, which is the opposite of what lloyd is doing

he’s being too nice to arin, sparing his feelings and not giving criticism where it’s needed in order for arin to figuring it out by himself. this constant need to reassure arin that everything, including his failures, is alright was the exact thing holding him back from understand what he needed to learn
