I am incredibly serious right now when I beg you all, please, and if you have Twitter or Tiktok or whatever to please spread the word: click on an author's profile on Ao3.
You want to know if an author has written more? Want to know if they're still writing? Want to see more from them? Want to know if they've written a trope or kink or sex scenario you enjoy?
Click on their name. And look at their profile.
I cannot tell you how many times in the last six months someone has read a new or newer fic of mine and said they (a new reader who has read nothing else I've done) "can't wait to see what you do next!" I've written 50+ fics and over a million words already.
"I don't know if you're still writing..." click on my profile. I am. I literally wrote a 128k+ fic for that ship last month.
"Would you ever do X?" "Please do Y!" I already did. Click on my name and look at my works.
Archive of our Own is a library. It's an archive. Not social media. It is your responsibility to fight back against the laziness that corporate algorithms have trained into you.
Click my author name. Just click it. Just click it.
Before you demand more, or ask if a writer will do XYZ, or wonder if the author still writing, or anything - click on their profile. Click on the author's profile.
I'm not trying to be mean or condescending or anything like that. I'm just exhausted. It's disheartening and frustrating to repeat myself ad nauseam, because someone couldn't take thirty seconds to do the tiniest bit of work to see if I've written lately, if I've written more for their ship, or scan my works to see if I've written what they're asking for. Please. Please. I'm begging.
Click the author's name, and explore before you ask.
#lincoln rants#I'm sorry but I'm at the end of my rope#I got a LOT of these comments on my Buddie Platonic Sugar Baby AU#acting like I was some new writer to the fandom#babes I've been here since the dawn of 2020 where the fuck have YOU been?#I am happy to answer questions! Was looking at refs and since Viktor has two different leg braces I was wondering, do we think he wears them simultaneously?? The refs don't perfectly line up perspective-wise so it's hard to tell but parts of the one he wears during the Hexcore scenes look like they could maybe line up with the brace that he wears over his clothes, but also some parts really don't and look like they'd be super uncomfy. Also HOW does he take these on and off. Experts weigh in
#viktor#arcane#ig my assumption would be that he wears both simultaneously cause in the scene where he injects the shimmer#it seems implied that he just threw off his clothes and kept experimenting#so one might assume he was already wearing the smaller one underneath#tho it is a funny image to think of him just being like 'one sec i gotta go all the way home and grab my other brace to do this'#he can take off the back brace too cause hes not wearing it in the scene where he's in the hospital bed and you can see his shoulder#where the strap would be#but that one seems to make even less sense functionality wise#everything looks like its screwed together#or screwed INTO him#but only the top bolts on his spine are i think#in the close ups of his back brace model it looks like theres cushioning underneath the parts of it that cover the rest of his spine#so he can take it off. but HOW#what parts of it unscrew/detatch to pull open and off#does it not do that at all and he just has to shimmy it off his shoulder and all the way down his legs to get it off like a romper#the shape language of the designs are cool but like. tell me how it wooorrkkksss#forgive me if im just dumb and dont know at all how braces work and theres a very simple practical explanation for all this#any king who wants to infodump about mobility aids at me....the floor is yours#something to be said i suppose about the fact that zaunites have crazy prosthetics with wild augmentations that work flawlessly#and piltover's like. idk heres some fucking uncomfortable ass metal. salo gets wheelchair in non ada compliant place#they havent ever needed to adapt to accommodate disabilities etc etc#or maybe artists were just like 'heres a design' and everybody clapped and didnt give it a second thought#and then they just turned off the visibility on the mesh when they didnt need it knowing thered not be a scene where its taken off#dont even wanna THINK about what that rig would look like#like 40 different controllers#soft body and rigid hard surfaces needing to move together....#a cold chill just shot up my spine#<- guy who is only an animator and doesnt know how to rig#forgive the magic wand tool with zero cleanup. i am lazy

for dca fandom members specifically: have you played and completed security breach?
when i say "complete" i specifically mean "played through it at least once and got to 6am", whether you got all the endings and/or achievements is irrelevant to the question
another additional note is that if you've played other fnaf games but haven't completed those then that still counts as you playing them and you can answer yes to that!
no shame towards anyone who hasn't played the games! this is just to see what the general statistics are among everyone here
please reblog for a larger sample size! thank you ♡
#my post#daycare attendant#dca fandom#dca#fnaf daycare attendant#thats a good amount of tags right??#anyway i was just curious about this a little bit... i wanna see how many gamers we have here HDJZJFJD#i personally have 100% beaten sb (and the flat mode for hw1 too actually!) and have played all the older entries as well#except for hw2 bc i dont have a vr headset + am not super interested in buying it tbh#i do play sb the most just because of the stranglehold it has on my brain but i've experienced the other games too HFJZJGJ#im just wondering if there's a larger amount of people who's main experience with the series is through sb? and specifically with dca stuff#but idk.. i shouldnt make assumptions#this question does keep me up at night sometimes though

(topic: how many and what configuration of kids do they give off vibes of having (either at present or in the future)(partner is irrelevant in most cases, some could be single parents for all i care))
#the blue tier should be 'two or more' my bad#all tiers make no difference between adopted and biological kids with the obvious exception of the ones exclusively abt adopted kids#basically all of the tiers above could be adopted too it doesn't matter#the ones in the young category don't necesarily all give off vibes of having no kids#more that i can't picture it but it's not bc of personality. it literally is just bc they look too young#like obv most characters on the younger side outside of that tier are under the assumption that the kid appears in the future#but the young tier is just i am incapable of deciding bc i can't look at their face and my perceived age of them and reach a decision#hu tao is the exception i just cannot see her having kids#this is also assuming they'd all be decent parents. doesn't mean those in the no kids tier are there bc they'd be bad parents tho#heizou lovers feel free to give your hc i just don't know who your man is lmao#yall get done so dirty by the game#like tbh i'd put him in the no kids tier but i am aware i know very little of him so. erring on the side of caution here#honestly alhaitham could be in the one girl category also now that i think about it. nb kid for that man specifically#there are some characters y'all won't be able to convince me otherwise but like. i'm curious anyway#the parentheses are the reasoning for the choice not necesarily their actual kid obviously#the natlan gang is up in the air. kinda confident abt the mualani choice but kinich? not so much#realistically i could see plenty of them not having any kids but decided to keep the no kids tier as empty as possible in the interest of#y'know actually thinking about it. the ones there are bc i simply couldn't see it. ganyu and sethos are on thin ice tho

I remember many times when my grandmother would make off hand remarks about how testosterone would make me look like a joke. that it would be funny and unnatural for someone like me to have a beard.
before that i remember my mother outing me to my grandparents without my knowledge or consent. and then having to sit with both of them on different occasions for a year while they tried to tell me i was just a masculine woman. One where they thought it was okay to ask if I'd get pregnant if a potential partner "really really wanted it 🥺" (Which. sidenote. what the actual fuck??)
i remember the day after one of those conversations my mother took me into town for a "suprise" from my grandma. and they tried to make me get my ears pierced. even when i said i didn't want to. the only reason they stopped was because i had an autistic shutdown in public and they were too embarrassed to keep trying to force me into it. That happened 2 years ago. i have very real trauma from that day.
They never cared about my gender nonconformity until i came out.
They still seem to believe that I'd only be a man if i actually secretly hated myself.
#i kinda just wanted to talk about some of the stuff I've gone through since coming out as a trans man#I've been very lucky that most of what I've faced was family and not the outside world but that definitely doesn't go for all transmascs#not even most#I'm so fucking angry at the world for the way my transfemme siblings are openly harrassed and assaulted#and I'm very grateful that i live in a place where “masculine women” aren't seen as a bad thing and also harassed#but my safety come from strangers assumptions that i am a cis woman making a fashion choice#i don't know the experience of *being* transfemme. so i listen. and i try to understand.#equally if you're transfemme. you don't know the experience of being transmasc. and that's okay. listen. and try and understand what you ca#and also#really fucking important#we need to stop completely fucking ignoring non-binary people when they speak about their experiences both in and outside our community#denying other trans people words for their experiences just leads to bitterness#and infighting#which we see a lot of#tw transphobia#transphobia#transmisogyny#transandrophobia#trauma#personal vent#I'm very much not here to start arguments i just needed to get this out somewhere#imp meows

Genuinely really loving the tendency of official Doctor Who stuff to now refer to the Doctor in general with they/them pronouns
#Doctor Who#New Who#The Doctor#I am talking#I feel like the Doctor in the show just lets people assume whatever pronouns and gender#because people are going to make assumptions and whatever anyways#and going along with people's weird assumptions until there's a reason not to is generally the Doctor's MO#see: anytime someone is like 'are you here for XYZ reason?' and the Doctor's just like 'yes absolutely'#but I feel like if the Doctor had a reason to care about the nuances of human gender conventions in the 21st century#they would like they/them pronouns#also I think it's neat that Time Lords who do have an actual experience of gender#like the master#seem to use whatever pronoun applied at the time in question when speaking in past tense in English#rather than the human convention of using the current pronoun even when speaking retroactively#it's just an interesting distinction#and then that makes me think about translation stuff and how concepts about gender may not even apply in Gallifreyan#but this is getting too long for me just rambling in the tags

Fire-eaters' political work was crudely done. At one level, it was racial fear mongering. In all of the speeches and appeals, the truly inflammatory pair presented was white women and black men. The threat of violence Black Republicans posed was always directed not at the white race in general but at white women in particular, and the threat itself was posed not by "black" Republicans (who were mostly white men) but by black and usually slave men incited to rape and pillage. The racial and gender threats were invariably a linked pair. And they were linked in pursuit of the nonslaveholders' vote.
On the eve of the presidential elections in 1860, a propaganda association was formed in Charleston, South Carolina. Called, appropriately enough, the 1860 Association, one of its avowed aims was to prepare, print, and distribute tracts and pamphlets. The publications committee made good on its promise, ultimately distributing more than 166,000 pamphlets. None had a bigger circulation than John Townsend's two incendiary contributions, "The South Alone Shall Govern the South" and "The Doom of Slavery in the Union." Both directly considered the effects of Black Republican government, which Townsend construed to include slave emancipation, on "the nonslaveholding portion of our citizens." Both insisted that the poor white man's racial superiority was bolstered only by slavery and would disappear with it, and both insisted that submission to Black Republican rule would touch off a race war between poor white and black men. "The midnight glare of the incendiaries' torch will illuminate the country from one end to another," Townsend railed in one of the pamphlets, "while pillage, violence, murder, poison, and rape will fill the air with the demonic revelry of all the bad passions of an ignorant, semi-barbarous race, urged to madness by the licentious teachings of our northern brethren." If they did not secede, Southern freemen would live to see their women seized as booty of war or, worse, raped by bestial and now emancipated black men. In Townsend's apocalyptic scenario the gender and racial threat to white men's rights are inextricably linked, their common property identified as white women, beloved objects men were pledged to protect.
All over the South, but particularly in the Deep South, politicians eager to unite voting men-the people-behind their plans envisioned the defense of the state as the defense of white men's wives from rape and murder. The fusion of the national and the feminine in Southern pleas has been repeated ever since along with the images and rhetoric of 1860 and 1861 in the argument that Southern men went to war to protect their womenfolk. In treating those images as truisms, as unproblematic and transparent articulations of men's beliefs, historians and others continue to deploy women as objects and symbols in a history made exclusively by men, just as Jefferson Davis had said. Where the nation became a woman, the woman took on a national posture. But the women offered to us in fire-eaters' and Unionists' narratives in 1860 and 1861 were not real. Like the virgin emblazoned on one side of the Virginia flag (who matched the shield on the other), or the female form adorning the hilt of a sword, they were figurative versions edited and simplified to serve as signs. They never spoke for themselves, never offered up their complicated and divisive perspective on events, their perceived truths about the dangers and the necessities in the historical moment. They were timeless forms, outside history. The challenge is to make women subjects of, as well as images in, the history we write.
stephanie mccurry, confederate reckoning: power and politics in the civil war south
#i almost hesitated over posting this bc i am wary of someone reading this and like#making some highly simplistic assumptions about the relationship between women's history & the alleged 'feminism' of the women in question#but.... hopefully... anyone both following me and getting through all 3 paragraphs here... will simply Be Cool#confederate reckoning#bookblogging#media 2k24

We all know life on Alternia is hell, and in many ways it’s even worse for cloistered jadebloods, being stuck for the rest of their lives in a cold dark cave with probably not much to do besides work. Being in such close proximity to the same people 24/7, they probably hate each other more often than not, but I like to think they still find little pockets of joy with each other in between everything
They make up and tell stories, they find a way to make rudimentary instruments out of the materials of the cave and sing songs, both ones they made and ones they remember from their old life, they dance, certain games like hide and seek work just well enough with all the nooks and crannies. They'll find creative ways to spice up whatever food they have/are given, reenact movies they've seen, write letters to each other even though they see each other every single day, play endless amounts of 21 Questions or Never Have I Ever until they know each other inside and out. They write down and make traditions out of all of this to pass on to subsequent generations of jades that come in, in an attempt to make their lives just a little bit better than theirs was. Their lives suck, but they still find ways to make it bearable

ok sorry for more eso posting but I tend to lurk on the community and the specific response to "increased overland difficulty" in that new letter is fascinating to me. It's basically 50/50 "THANK GOD! Everyone has been asking for this. This is the most obviously good decision they have ever made!" and
#i am squarely in the second category btw#which is why i find it funny seeing so many people act like this will be a unanimously loved decision with such confidence#i also have found that a lot of the contrast comes down to each side making way different assumptions about how people play and what#'increased difficulty' means#like its more hardcore people who play games like this for the challenge or the combat assuming it will turn overland combat into#engaging and challenging (in a good way) fights. and they tend to assume thats what everyone wants (or should want) out of questing#and then casual solo questers worried its just going to be turning everything into damage sponges and making everything tedious#mine#eso#i think it would be alright if they increased the difficulty of delve/quest bosses and maybe included some tougher enemies here and there#but i doubt it

It had started because some people had misheard something Phantom said. One singular letter was responsible for the mess he was in right now.
They thought Phantom had said "Dad"
He had not, not this time at least, he was, admittedly, rather prone to accidentally calling Jack "Dad" because the man actually was. Though those moments were nothing compared to this.
It had spread like wildfire throughout the school, and then the city as a whole. Phantom had a dad, a dad who was visiting next week. That's what they knew, and theories and questions were already abound. Was Phantom's dad alive? Or dead too? What was their relationship like? Was this mysterious dad Phantom's blood (ectoplasm?) father? Or was Phantom adopted? How similar were they?
Dan just laughed at Danny over the phone when he tried explaining the situation to his older self before he came by to visit.
#danny phantom#i was going to make a proper fic but um. i couldn't choose a direction to go in with it. so heres just me writing down the concept ndksnsks#i just think Dan pretending to be Danny Phantom's dad would be really funny#obv they look similar. maybe people'll assume the DP logo is some sort of family symbol lol#honestly this could work post or pre agit. though the bit here is written as post#pretending not even necessary people could just assume. the “family drama” thatd ensue from a pre agit Dan who is Very Much trying to kill#would be very fun i think#and he'd most certainly play along if he was aware of the assumption#anyway daisybell stop making dp posts at midnight am to inevitably wake up and hate how they're worded challenge impossible

based on swrve's video, if the jwct s1 novelization is coming out July 2nd 2024, that should mean the show would be premiering the month prior, meaning June 2024. i do want to mention that although ppl have previously used the novelizations to guess release dates, this is an entirely new show and nothing is confirmed, so the rest of this post is merely speculation.
if we guide ourselves on the release dates of the jwcc seasons, almost all of them were released on the second to last week of the month, the only exception being season 4, which due to the second to last Friday of the year being Christmas's Eve, could not follow this rule. the first four seasons released on a Friday, with season 5 releasing on Thursday. so, if we assume jwct will follow similar rules to jwcc in terms of release, we could be expecting season 1 to come out the second to last Friday of June: June 21st 2024.
now *drops the researcher tone* June 21st 2024. that's half a year away. just half a year. can you hear my screaming
#going insane over here#again i am a kid who's just making assumptions based on other times so this guarantees nothing#but anyways#that's so fucking close how am i supposed to function until june knowing this#how did we go from '2025 until we get some sort of news' to 'jwct is potentially coming out in 6 months' in less than a year#also if it does come out in june a trailer would be coming until may and with that the official release date#2024 is gonna be such a good year to be a jwcc fan i'm so fucking excited#c rambles about jwcc#camp cretaceous#jurassic world chaos theory#jwct

interesting to me that you could maybe draw a line between jaehaerys misogyny back to being held visenyas hostage, into being on the run with his mother and alysanne. and yet he mimics visenyas iconic style with the long braid…
#inch resting……………#misogyny and/or his distrust of women in power same thing#like the book only specifically mentions nyra mimicing visenyas braid but…….. what assumption am i supposed to make here#jaehaerys i targaryen#my posts
