quick question why does your cat command you to print something on the printer
he really likes to watch the printer print. It seems like he thinks there’s some kind of creature in there that I have the mysterious power to summon that he can then hunt for sport?
he sticks his entire arm inside the printer and breaks it if I don’t put some kind of physical burrier between him and the printer but like he purrs so loud when it starts printing and will beg harder for people to print things than he will for treats.
he just loves hunting the printer so much. he even tried to climb inside the place the paper comes out of the printer when he was a kitten.
No matter where he is in the apartment if the printer makes a noise he sprints full speed. He also knows which button to press to get the printer to print like the ink levels info and alignment sheet, so you have to make sure it’s off or locked up or he will print nonstop himself and then attack the printer and jam it.
is it inconvenient that my cat is obsessed with the printer? yes, but damn if it’s not also adorable.
I don’t actually have a ton of photos of him sticking his whole arm in there though because stopping him from jamming the printer is usually a task that involves all of my arms and also all of my roommates arms.

You know, if we DO make contact with aliens within the next hundred years-ish, enough people are going to give the Vulcan salute to the first alien they see in real life (whether out of quivering excitement, lol memeitude, or sheer awkward, panicked grasping for the one prominent alien greeting nested in the social conscious) that there's a solid chance that it becomes a thing we're known for as humans.
Live Long and Prosper, my friends.

I'm doing DS9 tarot now and I just finished my first card thought I should post it here
And the ideas I have currently for the deck
I include both Chinese and English for my own reading. Some of them I still can't decide like right now I don't know if I should put Jadzia in the magician or not

I need people who do not understand what AI is to stop commenting on things going "thank god it's not AI" or "ew it has AI" because first of all not EVERYTHING is generative AI (the one that steals art and writing) and some AI are actually useful because there are DIFFERENT TYPES of AI like oh my fucking god it's an umbrella term for machine learning. People keep thinking that all AI is generative AI when it ISN'T and it's fucking annoying. Translation software is AI, Virtual Assistants are AI, Video game NPCs are AI, Medical software uses AI. Some AIs are trained to do simple menial tasks! It's called machine learning for fuck sakes.
Please stop demonising a word that you don't even know the proper definition of.

Concept: While on the holodeck with the crew, something goes wrong with the Doctor’s mobile emitter. Everyone’s pattern is copied into the thing and he can’t stop it from cycling between them. B’Elanna is trying to fix him when his physical parameters switch so he looks exactly like her.
But suddenly! There’s an emergency onboard the ship. The Doctor’s faulty program will have to wait.
So it’s just an entire episode where the Doctor is played by every other cast member. He treats patients looking like Chakotay, turns around and suddenly he looks like Neelix. He sedates an alien intruder with a hypospray looking like Harry.

This is something I think is so important - I'm grateful in a way that spent part of my life living in a different country and then moved back because I think it helps me to really appreciate all of the things that I love about nature in both places.
In Nova Scotia the trees are so stubby and sturdy to protect them against the wind and the cold and I love that. Out by the coast you can see the rocks where the glaciers scraped them all up and the coastal barrens with bushes and grasses as far as the eye can see and it's soothing to me. It's wild and alive.
In Connecticut the trees are very tall to me and very green and feel more like a jungle even though that's not really how people tend to describe new england. Everything is so lush and full of life everywhere you look, and that's beautiful too.
