New Doctor Who trailer!
I think I'm going to like the new companion - I appreciate that when the Doctor promises to keep her safe l, she's like "you can't do that". But also, the Doctor probably wouldn't be the Doctor if they didn't try anyway so I appreciate that too.
And of course it's exciting to have a companion who's trying to get back home and maybe got accidentally kidnapped or something, because that's always fun. For me as a viewer anyway, maybe not for the companion haha.
All the episodes hinted out so far seem interesting to me, and though I admit to personally preferring when the Doctor has just one constant outfit, all of the different outfits they have the Doctor in are pretty fun.

People have written a lot of touchy-feely pieces on this subject but I thought I’d get right to the heart of the matter

weird and very petty little pet peeve is when fics reference the celestial cafe and it being a bajoran restaurant and then imply that garak is like, unwelcome there or something.
when. it’s established. the first time we meet the owner of said cafe. that she and garak are friends. she’s a regular customer who treats garak with good humour and garak attempts to matchmake for her because she’s been yappin’ about her crush on odo to him.
like, my personal headcanon is that garak has pretty much *always* been on fairly good terms with the bajorans who worked on the promenade and the dabo girls and etc. etc.
and while a lot of bajorans probably do dislike him on principle and there are those sordid and clearly false rumours of him being an evil spy and the bajoran government definitely does not like him hanging around, i feel like he gets away with living on the station largely because the average bajoran who lived there during the occupation just thinks of him as that weird guy who kept his hands to himself and didn’t talk down to them or harrass them for fun and then got left behind running that tailor shop of his.
like, i’d bet that the average bajoran on the station (the ones who don’t just think he’s a random cardassian civillian who wanted to keep running his shop and was never involved with anything except sewing to begin with) is probably torn between “maybe he’s a cardassian spy and that’s why he stayed” or the equally likely in their eyes “maybe the cardassians left him here because he was secretly a bajoran sympathiser”.
… god. imagine the various civilians starting a rumour that garak stayed on terok nor because he was actually a resistance cell member working to dismantle the occupation from the inside.
imagine THAT getting back to kira via station whispers.
she’d spew blood, oh my god.
