Episode 6

— I knew someone mentioned a bar mitzvah episode! I was excited for those of you who complain about the lack of Jewish characters in the MCU. Curious about Joe Locke’s pronunciation though. Only been to two and was like, ??? I already love Jeff and Rebecca and I am worried about them.

— Never have I been so happy to be wrong about the Sigil when I saw Lilia. I teared up. Then the first thing he said was. “Tommy,” and I legit cried. Then Alice showed up! I am too emotional.

— Eddie is very cute. I like you but you are not Teddy so I am worried about you too.

— I knew it was Evan Peters from the moment he said he met someone online. And then when I saw him in the bucket hat, I laughed so hard because YouTube nerds insisted the guy in the bucket hat was Mephisto and, again, I love when they are wrong. And I kind of want the Bohner Family reunion t shirt Agatha had?

— Also! In further, nerds are wrong news. The “missing” names in the title cards aren’t Elizabeth Olsen or Sacha Baron Coen. It’s Jeff, Rebecca, Boyf and Evan Peters. I guessed Jeff and Rebecca. Didn’t count on two on each card. Alas. But I am right-er.

— And Joe Locke said next week was better. I am already vibrating.

Thoughts on Chenford in 6x05?

Spoilers below:

So I’ve got a longer list of gripes this week, but overall I didn’t think the episode was bad. I do feel like they gave away too much of the Chenford again and there really wasn’t much else in the episode minus that one scene which was painful angsty deliciousness.

What I liked:

Melissa and Eric were again incredible in the scene where Lucy asked Tim to leave

I am SOOO happy Lucy stood up for herself, and I am so ready for her to put Tim in his place next week. I COMPLETELY get he’s trying to protect her, but he’s taking agency away from her. She gets to decide if she wants to be protected. 

This is actually why I really wasn’t at all a fan of the spinal surgery SL and Tim intentionally having people leave her in the dark so she wouldn’t worry. That bothered me even before they were dating, but now that they are in a relationship, keeping huge things from your partner isn’t how you treat a partner that you truly respect and see as an equal, and I am actually really excited to see this addressed. This is a holdover from their Rookie—T.O. dynamic that needs to change.

And of course it’s still up to Tim to decide from there if he wants to be honest with her, that’s his choice to make and he made it. 

But she was absolutely right to ask him to leave when he wasn’t, and that scene was seriously so painful but well done. 

What I didn’t like

Probably the main issue, for me, is that I didn’t find Tim’s situation emotionally compelling. We got told a lot of stuff about something that happened in the past, but as much as I wanted to empathize with him, I didn’t actually feel anything about it. Maybe if they’d set this up earlier on or done flashbacks or something, I’d have felt more of the stakes, but it just fell flat for me. 

And this ultimately led to them doing very little to convince me he couldn’t have texted (or called) Lucy multiple times. He said he didn’t have a choice, but he did. We saw multiple opportunities when he had his phone. He willingly chose to leave her in the dark. I legit was expecting him to be held hostage or something. He just shut her out, and while I get he was going through something, not even telling her he was alive is absolutely unacceptable like Lucy said. 

And then, finally, we had something that ALWAYS grates on me when they do it — using Lucy as a plot device without regard to her character or her state of mind. Her scenes with Aaron in the middle of the episode felt like they were inserted out of nowhere from a different day entirely. We were back to carefree, jokester Lucy (who I adore — when it make sense for her character). But… I’m supposed to believe she was worried Tim might be dead at this point? I’m supposed to believe she doesn’t have a LOT of feelings about Aaron flirting with his therapist considering she herself is the product her mom getting with a patient?! And yes, I get that moods shift in reality — it just completely took me out of her narrative for this episode. And when they do stuff like this, it makes me seriously question if they even remember the back story they gave her?

Tkachuk to be full participant at start of Panthers training camp

Forward ‘feeling great’ after fracturing sternum during Stanley Cup Final

LAS VEGAS -- Matthew Tkachuk will be a full participant when the Florida Panthers begin training camp Sept. 21.

The forward said at the NHL North American Player Media Tour on Tuesday during an interview for a future episode of the "NHL @TheRink" podcast that he is healthy more than three months after sustaining a fractured sternum in the first period of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights on June 8.

"I am feeling great," Tkachuk said. "It's been a very short summer, the way I want it to be every year going forward. The worst timing for the injury, obviously, Stanley Cup Final, but in a weird way I had time after where I wasn't missing X amount of months of game action, so I had the summer to get ready. I definitely improved on some things. The injury allowed me to work on some parts of fitness and conditioning and that is in the best form right now possible, and I just improved on some strength, which was my goal."

Tkachuk returned in the third period of Game 3 and scored the tying goal with 2:13 remaining. The Panthers won 3-2 in overtime.

He said he was given permission by team doctors to play through the pain in Game 4. He skated 16:40 and had four shots on goal in a 3-2 loss that put Florida down 3-1 in the best-of-7 series. Tkachuk did not play Game 5, which Vegas won 9-3 to win the Stanley Cup.

"I think I realized I was in the most pain when we won that Game 3," Tkachuk said. "I missed a big portion of it, came back and we won it in overtime. After the game, I'm walking around and normally you have the high spirits after a win, especially in the playoffs. It doesn't matter what you're going through, you're on top of the world. And I was pumped, but I still knew that half of my body felt like it was [in pain]. I knew something wasn't right.

“I didn't know what it was at the time. We did all my tests the next day, then I came back and basically with doctor's orders was given the opportunity to do everything I could to play just one game. [I] did it. I would have done it all over again if I had the chance."

Tkachuk said he wasn't worried about long-term effects of the break in his sternum, knowing that would heal, but there were some internal issues that that led to some scary moments.

"I'll try to keep it short, but there's all the blood vessels and stuff and that was the scary part at the time and that was the most concerning part in my health at the time," Tkachuk said. "But right now, it's good."

He was able to play Game 4 despite not even being able to get out of bed without assistance from his brother, Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk.

"I'm not going to lie, that was the craziest thing I've ever kind of been a part of," Brady said Tuesday, also for a future episode of the "NHL @TheRink" podcast. "I just flew in for the game because I wanted to see a Stanley Cup Final game and he came back from the rink in the morning and just looked awful. He was like, 'I’ve got to go take a nap.' And then he calls me at 3:30 and I'm downstairs. He says, 'Can you come up here?' We were just mucking it up and then he's like, 'Alright, I need you to help me up.' I'm like, 'You're joking.' He's like, 'No, I legit can't get up. I just sneezed and I thought I died.'

“He was going through some serious pain and just to see him be able to find a way to just play in that game and have the mindset of treating this as my last game, do whatever it takes, try to get a win and put ourselves in a better position going into Game 5, I was so proud of him. The way he played, trying to work around it, not many people can do, especially at the pain level he was at."

Tkachuk finished last season tied for sixth in the NHL with 109 points (40 goals, 69 assists) in 79 games. He led the Panthers and was tied for third in the NHL in playoff scoring with 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 20 games.

Florida is not expected to have defensemen Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour on the ice for the start of training camp; each has been rehabbing from offseason shoulder surgery. Tkachuk said they may not be back until around Christmas.

hey what’s up hello okay so i finally just finished s2 e52 of dndads (had a very crazy work week so was listening in bits and pieces) and here’s the thing is that im also currently relistening to the whole season and earlier in this week, the most recent episode i finished, was halt and catch fireball, and before that ya know was mrs. swallows oak garcia’s home for peculiar teens or whatever that one is called where they are just. at normal’s house and we got to actually get to know rebecca a little bit and i have got to say that i don’t know if i could’ve picked a more painful and wild older ep to listen to as a precursor to dood riddance i really don’t!!! literally half of the shit in dood riddance just circles back to that arc in the swallows oak garcia home and it’s CRAZY

like first of all. the red vines, which they called twizzlers the entirety of e52 which was MADDENING as a person who legit just finished e30/31 where the red vines were introduced

but then like. e31 is where taylor gets the anime sword from nick!!! that he loses in e52!!!

there were a few other things that i’ve forgotten in the half an hour since i finished the ep because my brain is a sieve on a good day and i’m just getting home from two back to back 13 hour shifts (with an extra 1hr10/20 each day for the commute) so the brain machine is so fucking broke rn

but mainly. i wasn’t loving e52 esp after dood left i just was not vibing with it, i feel like the vibes were off in the room in a way that translated into the ep for a bit there, but then anthony in those last like three minutes brought it back around and with the roll of rebecca??? after i legit JUST finished listening to the eps that feature her the most prominently and like truly showcase not only normal’s relationship w his mom but also, as is said several times in e30/31 and their teen talks, just how similar normal IS to his mom and how he really clearly is a total momma’s boy and very much so seemed to be a kid who sought solace with his mom more than anyone else in his family and just. having legit JUST reestablished that in my own, made the end of e52 DEVASTATING for me in a way that idk if it was for other ppl??? idk haven’t checked the fandom yet im very disconnected this season but just.

i think that okay so we have ten parents it could’ve been, right? and five of those are the kiddads, and none of us want to see them die, so in that moment when anthony was telling us what was gonna happen, obviously my instinct was like “oh god don’t do this don’t do terry jr again but truly permanent” and then my next instinct was that it would be potentially even MORE awful if it was scary’s dad because finally there he is and that’s ALL she wants and for willy to take that moment from her would be INSANE and then (mind you this was my thought process over the course of literally 10 seconds, my brain is ping ponging in my head and has been since the second i got in the car to head home i need to sleep) and THEN my next thought was, oh god, but how fucked up would it be if it were marco??? oh god, how fucked up would it be if it were cassandra?!?!?!?! and then it was time for the roll and truly in those brief seconds basically my brain flicked through every potential victim and said “oh god THAT one would be the WORST”, EXCEPT for veronica and rebecca, and it made the hit of it being rebecca who was low down on my instinctual list to think of but then the second he said her name i was immediately ricocheted back to earlier in the week when i was listening to halt and catch fireball and mrs. swallows oak garcias home and how many emotions i had about normal and his mom just relistening to those episodes and then the fact that i DIDNT think to worry about her just

all of that combined to make that a CRITICAL HIT FOR ME OKAY like i am SO fucked up over this truly that was WILD and i applaud anthony burch for it and now am excited for the finale even though ive spent the last three eps just dreading it for several reasons but now im excited and devastated and i love that

anyways. that was word vomit i just NEEDED to get this out because the connections between those two episodes really will not stop hitting me in the head and i need to impart that onto SOMEONE. if u read this. ur a real one. rip rebecca swallows oak garcia you were a legend and i am so sad about u

These episode titles tho, I legit imagine Logico painstakingly writing the entire book and then once he's done at some point at 3 AM he's just trying to title all of the cases

It’s early in the morning, and Logico is fast asleep. He’s so tired! There’s an unpleasant knocking at the door. Unsurprisingly, Lady Violet is there. Eeby Gico rolls out of bed.

VIOLET: Rise and shine! It’s THANKSGIVING!! LOGICO: No it’s not!! It’s MAY! VIOLET: Remember? Holiday party? Today, we’re celebrating Thanksgiving!  LOGICO: W- VIOLET: Don’t worry, it’ll be Christmas tomorrow!

Vi leads Gico to a glorious dining hall.

VIOLET: For the Holy Republic, Thanksgiving celebrates the time where we annihilated a clan of peasants that was trying to overthrow us! Look!

The centerpiece decoration is a fake pie with a bunch of little dead human figures stuck in it.

LOGICO: How appetizing.

For no apparent reason, Father Mango and Steel are there.

STEEL: EW!! I thought I’d never have to see your short ass again! LOGICO: OH MY GOD, I hate you. MANGO: I’ve brought the wine! LOGICO: Of course you have.

They all sit down, awaiting their brown food to be served to them. After an hour, nothing happens.

MANGO: I have to go home now. VIOLET: NO WAIT!! I… I’m sure they’ll be out soon! 

She flutters to the kitchen. Can you guess what she sees? She screams. Logico runs over.

LOGICO: I probably could have guessed this happened an hour ago.

The first clue is a fork jammed into one of the human figures on the centerpiece. He tears it out and it’s stained with blood… but it’s nowhere near the dead chef. Are the human figures filled with blood????? Logico is about to vomit. He runs into the pantry instead. Mango is standing in the dark.

LOGICO: What are you doing? MANGO: Trying to figure out which brown food will go best with my gravy. 

He drinks some of it straight out of the pitcher. He gasps loudly!!!

LOGICO: … MANGO: I forgot I put arsenic in there. LOGICO: The fuck?? MANGO: It’s fine. I have God on my side.

He enters the kitchen instead and runs into Steel.

STEEL: Heyyyyy~ MANGO: … STEEL: I’d love a sip of that gravy.  MANGO: Absolutely not. STEEL: Ugh, I meant literally, but, if you wanna put it that way…

Mango kicks her across the room! Good thing too, because Logico cannot take any more of incompatible murdlers flirting with each other.

Irratino, restless, draws sketches of priests drenched in gravy. But his tears only make the paper bleed.

Logico quickly figures out that Steel is the chef killer. Makes sense, considering she’s one of the worst people alive.

STEEL: OH, YOU THINK YOU CAN CANCEL ME?! I CAN NEVER BE CANCELED!!!

She stomps around like the mature adult she is. 

MANGO: Now, I have the urge to kill HER…

Violet slams her hands on the table.

VIOLET: THAT’S IT! PARTY’S OVER! My GOD I can’t work with ANY OF YOUUUU

At this point, I am literally just trying to see this season to an end

Hi hello, yes I’m late, time to review Revolution! Let’s go because at this point I’m getting tired of this show.

So basically the entire episode is Adrien’s trying to tell Marinette that he’s leaving Paris and trying to stop it, but Marinette doesn’t really listen, and is focused on stopping Chloe, who’s now mayor/dictator??? Yeah trust me the logic of this show is gone, somehow people are ok with the super demonized caricature Chloe being mayor like everyone didn’t hate her already (my guess is that this is supposed to be alluding to the current state of world and politics and lack of trust people hold in the government)? Love the lack of consistency and logic.

Now. I don’t want to criticize Marinette too much, because technically, yes, she was busy trying to handle the Chloe situation (which in itself makes absolutely no sense and by all accounts shouldn’t be possible) but I will note that despite Adrien clearly telling her something was wrong multiple times, she never seems to care or understand? Like he told her multiple times that there’s something wrong, but she never seems to care or do anything about it until it actually affects her (which is unfortunately in character)

But apparently people are criticizing Adrien?! Saying how he’s awful for lying to marinette about having to leave and left it for the last minute? And frankly, the show kinda does it too (in the next episode, many of Adrien’s classmates discuss how awful it is Adrien didn’t say anything and how could he keep this from them like that)

LIKE??? BITCH??? Two points:

1. Adrien’s dad is Gabriel fucking Agreste?!

Like wow what a shocker the child of a man that has proven to abuse and isolate his son on multiple occasions has a fear of asking others for help in his situation because he worries nothing can truly beat this actual billionaire who’s also his legal guardian? And also is implied to have legit magic control powers over him, sentimonster style?

2. This really isn’t that of a big fucking deal

Like I do not get why this show keeps saying how “Adrien lied to marinette!!! He didn’t tell her he’s moving away!!!! How could he!!!” And how literally everyone and their mom is seeing this as an awful situation for marinette, when in actuality, all she knows is that Adrien will now be living a couple of hours away from her (due to the bullet train between Paris and London) and that he won’t literally be with her every second of the day.

Like I get it for a 14 year old yes this might be a huge fucking deal, but Alya even says so herself! Adrien is in London, they’ll just get a couple of tickets for the train and figure it out from their! And even in the worst case scenario where Adrien stays in London, there’s the option of a long distance relationship (that’s just as valid a relationship as any and would be a refreshing take on how not every relationship is super conventional and in person)

I just really don’t understand why the show shows Adrien genuinely going through some horrible shit from his father (like full on white room torture in the episode after) and then all the show focuses on is how this affects marinette and how sad she must be rather then the genuine psychological damage this must be doing for the kid! Like no one in this show remembers the amount of control Gabriel has on Adrien or something.

Anyways rant aside, before the entire going to London thing happens (btw congrats adrienette shippers for the kiss) there’s a whole thing where Chloe makes a deal to be akumatized by Monarch so she can send people to detention (it’s painted as a torture chamber but it’s literally people walking around with a video of Chloe saying they’re ridiculous, so basically P.E. Class), and then there’s a big fight where Ladybug and Chat Noir almost detransform because they used up their lucky charm and cataclysm and are trapped (btw the lucky charm had no fucking point to the story, why was it underwear? Frankly it was kinda creepy if the writers to have panties as the lucky charm for nothing but a weird joke, and not even connecting to the messages of unity and everyone taking action but ok)

But like… they just don’t?! Like I swear to god this show makes no sense anymore, Ladybug and Chat Noir just say they’ll never give up and fully transform and recharge again, and now they have no time limit and full powers?!

Like, the entire principal (just like Gabriel said) of the miraculous time limit, is that Kwamis need to recharge after one use, and that adults can lend some of their energy and power to Kwamis and therefore have them last longer to the point they don’t need to detransform, hence “only adults don’t need to detransform”

But now it’s apparently a purely emotional thing and not physical? Ladybug and Chat Noir somehow grew up by saying they’ll never detransform again (I do not at all see how this is a moment of growth to them) and now they just don’t detransform, despite the fact they are physically still kids?

Like by the shows logic of emotional maturity, Gabriel shouldn’t be able to hold a transformation at all then, because he’s the farthest thing from emotionally mature.

And also, it kinda makes all the stakes in fights now null and void? The biggest stake and challenge in each fight from day one of miraculous was “there’s this bad guy, you guys have one chance to use your special powers to beat them, think smart and solve this puzzle” but now it’s just gone??? It would have worked if the akumas overtime became more intense and hard to beat but clearly that’s not the case as even akumas powered up with actual miraculouses can be beat by a normal ladybug and chat noir.

The best thing the show could have done here is rather then make the becoming adult thing emotional maturity, have Ladybug and Chat Noir notice their transformation seems ti be slowly lasting longer as they age (have it be a metaphor for puberty and growing up or something) and then actually make the fights and villains more difficult and compelling so by the time Ladybug and Chat Noir no longer transform back, the priority isn’t for them to keep their secret identity (which sucks and anyways doesn’t matter) but to stay alive!

But anyways I digress, when has this show ever pulled a logical move?

Which speaking of…

I have no fucking clue what they’re doing with Chloe anymore.

They spent. Entire SEASONS! PLURAL! SEASONS! After the introduction of Audrey Bourgeois, telling us how “no Chloe is irredeemable her actions are never justifiable she’s just evil and bad and she has no other reason for doing anything and she’s so bad she’s cooperating with monarch and Lila look how evil she is hate her so marinette looks better in comparison”

To now… suddenly pulling this scene?!

Like. WHY??? Why would you purposely demonize Chloe despite the very real opportunity she had to get better and be complex, only to now pull a “whoops wait look guys deep compelling character!”

And while I heard people say this is the show maybe finally making Chloe get her redemption arc after hitting rock bottom, I can’t agree? The show is known for its repetitive nature, and if the show is to redeem Chloe and suddenly make her a good person or give her a compelling reason for acting the way she did, marinette looks bad in comparison, for not having as compelling reasons to do just as bad things:

Example? Marinette and Chloe in season 3’s Animaestro, trying to sabotage Lagami and publicly humiliate her in front of Adrien so she won’t “win him over”.

If Chloe has an explanation for this behavior (she’s taught to be cruel and mean from a young age by an abusive and neglectful mother, and because of her equally neglectful father, she learned the only way she’s heard and anyone cares for her is if she lashes out, and someone will just throw money on the problem) what reason does marinette have? She was raised by perfectly loving and doting (maybe too doting) parents, who from day one have taught her to be kind to others, and to do good.

Both characters did an awful thing, just one character has a genuinely compelling explanation for said behavior, while the other is pure jealousy and wanting the guy for herself by all costs.

So no, I don’t think the show will redeem Chloe for that reason: because it would force marinette to admit her wrongdoings and therefore force the plot to develop!

So this just makes no sense? It feels like a case of the show wanting to have its cake and eat it too, wanting the show to remain the same, Chloe to remain awful for no reason, and for marinette to stay the hero by comparison, but also have the bragging rights to say “we write complex character you guys!”

It makes no sense is my point.

Anyways besides these huge inconsistencies, leaps in logic, and bad writing, I don’t really have anything else about this episode to say? This show has officially come to the point for me where I genuinely think nothing will ever change or be able to fix how wrong everything is (from characterization of everyone except for marinette, the plot, the rules of miraculouses, the LOVE SQUARE)

im really not having a lot of fun watching sams/laes anymore and it's just making me rather sad. so. this post is me yapping about that- under the cut in case someone doesnt wanna see it (and i have a tag to block if peeps dont wanna see my saltier/more discourse-ridden takes in general lmao)

tbch, i feel a bit bad about it. or not really Bad, just upset n' angry n' annoyed that im no longer getting as much joy out of watching the shows as i used to. it does a big hit to The Tism which normally clings onto these shows like a leech dhfssdfgd

i think i've made my opinions on the current arc blatantly clear to anyone who's seen me post about it before, but in case someone Hasn't, let it be known i do not like this arc. i hate it. i hate what they did to nexus/new moon, i hate how it's being handled, i hate how some of the other characters are being treated/are acting, i hate how the fandom has become so split over this arc that you almost have to pick a side and can only make friends on that side. i hate it.

anytime its a silly episode i have the gnawing thought of 'nexus is out there. perhaps being manipulated by dark sun or falling further into villainy, or something even worse.' in the back of my mind, so i can barely focus on the silly and just start thinking about nexus instead. and sometimes the silly episodes just bore me or contradict themselves or make me worried for the future. (ie, for the last one, some things that are nothing but silly jokes in the moment- such as frank- can later be considered legit serious and lore important things down the line, so i always have to keep my guard up a lil bit even around silly episodes. its rather exhausting).

and anytime its a lore ep im just not interested in it bc im more curious as to whats going on in other parts of the lore. ofc i mainly mean nexus, but im also curious about eclipse and what he's plotting. about the astrals, specifically lunar v taurus. i simply dont see the content i was hoping to see, and its been happening back-to back-to back-to back now on these two channels. so, it's starting to become unfun/boring for me.

not to mention that i just Miss the vibby games- i miss the video games very, very much and i am constantly angered at the higher ups for making the va's do more lore both because all this lore is grating and im also highkey worried for the va's. idk how stressful it must be to film lore for basically every day, but i'd bet its not the best thing in the world. i fear for even worse burn-out.

overall, this, to me, is just not a fun time in these two shows rn and im really thinking about just Ignoring this arc completely in my own canon and instead focus on past lore/silly videos. like i'll prolly still theorize about what's next and watch the eps just bc i like hearing their voices, but ive gotten past the "im angry at this for fun" phase and am more into the "im not angry anymore, just bored, sad, and disappointed with how things are turning out," phase.

Ally should have been voted off- I literally hate her, I hope Ally or Riya gets out next I literally cannot stand either of them. Like at least Riya is a sexy villain bitch who gives no shits- Ally cares too much and doesn’t care at all in the worst possible scenario.

I genuinely like Grett as a character now, I used to hate her but now I just love her.

I JUST SAW “GRIME TIDINGS” AND I AM SHOOKITH TO MAH CORE

The new episode was… Oh my god. There’s so much Sonadow in just this first episode and I am close to fucking SOBBING.

So to start off, we got the fabled “Sonic feels bad about how Nine took the shards” in the cavern scene and even though it ended far too quickly compared to most other predictions, it was still very enjoyable! Shadow wasted absolutely no time in getting Sonic back in the game, while it took Sonic a while to realize that now is NOT THE TIME FOT A GODDAMN MENTAL BREAKDOWN. Twas a great interaction that had my soul flying outta my body frfr

THEN SONIC’S FRIENDS LITERALLY START FLYING AWAY AND MY HEART JUST SHATTERS BECAUSE WTF THEY LITERALLY JUST WENT TO SAY HI TO GOD I AM NEVER GONNA BE NORMAL ABOUT THAT THEY LEGIT JUST SAID “Bye Sonic cya in heaven” AND THEN WERE GONE LIKE WHAT

Poor Sonic just had to speed run the five stages of grief lmao

AND THEN ALL MY WORRIES WASH AWAY WHEN I SEE SONADOW WORKING TOGETHER TO GET OUT OF GHOST HILL AND IT IS SERIOUSLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SEQUENCE OF 3D ANIMATION I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. There is so much squash-and-stretch, so much dynamic posing, so many fast movements, so many moments where you blink and you miss something. It’s so fluid and so expertly done, my heart was melting when I saw it. Prime is just straight up eye candy at this point and I am not in any way complaining. This scene was so pretty and so epic and so intense. And I could feel literally every impact. Wonderful story boarding to whoever did the storyboards. You have my full respect.

And then Shadow gives Sonic a compliment and my soul once again leaves my body. I am not okay.

AND THEN THE SONADOW FANKID BATTLE ENSUES WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

And then. AND THEN. WHEN NINE BRINGS OUT THE OTHER 4 ROBOTS TO FIGHT SONIC AND SHADOW THE TWO HEDGEHOGS LOOK AT EACH OTHER AND GO “Behind you!” AT THE SAME TIME AND I START DYING AGAIN. Feel bad for Big tho. Bro didn’t get a robot… 🥺 Feel so horribly bad for Shadow too. He got stuck fighting the Rouge robot during the fight. Must’ve been a horrible experience. Can’t wait to see how he’ll react to the other versions of her though! If we even get to see him again…!

Which by the way, the ending scene…? OH MY GOD??????????? THEY REALLY HIT US WITH THE BIGGEST CLIFFHANGER EVER. SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG. SHADOW THE GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING HEDGEHOG. THE BITCH WITH ALL THE EMO DRIP AND THE HEELIES. THE ONE WHO CAN FUCKING FLY NOW. YEAH. HE SACRIFICED HIMSELF FOR SONIC. WHAT!!!!!?????????

Obviously, he’s not gone for good. Cuz then we wouldn’t be able to call this season “Sonadow Prime season 2.” But the fact that he gave himself up and chose to fight off a whole horde of super strong and powerful robots that could beat him in an instant all because Nine had his sights on the blue blur…? That is A LOT. Especially since we’ve waited like 2 whole decades for some good Shadow characterization. In no way am I complaining, duh, but for someone like me…? MAN I WAS NOT OKAY.

Sinister Nine is… It is wild. I always knew he was gonna be a problem ever since Shadow pointed it out at the beginning of season 2, but I never expected him to actually be this evil. He lands next to Sonic and Shadow before the sacrifice, and when he reveals what he plans to do to Sonic… He’s hardly recognizable anymore. It’s scary, how utterly broken and changed he feels. This is still the same fox as before though, just a bit more sure of what he wants. And that’s terrifying.

So naturally, when Shadow figures it out, he is mortified.

AND I START INTERNALLY SCREAMING BECAUSE I WAS NOT EXPECTING HIM TO REACT THAT WAY OH MY GOD BRO WAS FLABBERGASTED HE WAS SO TAKEN ABACK HE WAS SO HEARTBROKEN HE WAS LIKE “Why u tryna hurt my boo???” AND THAT MAKES THE SACRIFICE HIT THAT MUCH HARDER. OH MY GOD. MAKES IT WORSE THAT SONIC HAD NO IDEA WTF HE WAS TALKING ABOUT TOO.

Anywhizzle my energy has dwindled since my first watch because it’s been like 30 minutes but I just wanna add that. I am pretty sure it’s official that the Prime Universe is dead. Gone. Deceased. That shit ain’t coming back, I can guarantee. We spent like half the episode trying to get out of Ghost Hill and then mourning the loss of it, and I highly doubt all that screen time is gonna go to waste. They’ll probably say that Sonic succeeded and that we’ll be shown everyone returning to normal, but based off what we see I at least hope this isn’t the case. This now feels more like a show about moving on, about finding out who you are and making friends. It’s about change, but it’s also about connection. And with the Prime Universe gone, with Ghost Hill destroyed, and with the Paradox Prism in Nine’s grasp until the foreseeable future… I really doubt we’ll see Ghost Hill restored. This fact is amplified by the fact that we’ve been getting more screen time and development with each different universe/shatterverse.

Loki Episode 4 Coherent Thoughts

Spoilers for Episode 4 and before, obviously.

Christ, I have come up with ANOTHER fic idea that has to be posted before Thursday if I want it to be relevant for a little bit, and boy howdy, it is not short.

I think Sylvie got to Mobius. I'm gonna time it next time I watch it (and report back here when I do), but I'm pretty sure even if Loki and Sylvie's conversation happens at the same time as the scene in OB's workroom that immediately follows, there was still enough time for Mobius to look into his memories and get hot cocoa before. Even if he just finds files somewhere and tucks them away to look at later. [EDIT: YES. Sylvie and Loki's conversation in "pie land" takes about 4 minutes and 31 seconds. If we assume the hot cocoa machine takes 1 minute roughly, the total time he's with OB, Casey, and Timely plus that minute is 2 minutes and 42 seconds, leaving 1 minute and 49 seconds to do something that helps him figure out his memories. What that something is in that time, I don't know, but that's still almost 2 minutes of time unaccounted for.]

Listen, I know it's episode 4 so it's too early to be in pain. I know it. But goddamn I still feel bereft. That look on Loki's face that they left us with HURT MY SOUL. (And also I was there (kind of) for Supernatural at the very end and shit went down two episodes before the finale and DID NOT GET ADEQUATELY RESOLVED and I'm not gonna say I was traumatized because that's dramatic, these are tv shows, but I'm a milder version of traumatized. I've been burned by bad endings that started two episodes before the end before.) And I'm just really upset about seeing Loki in pain in general (don't get me wrong, DO IT, it gives me writing ideas and hurts really good, but ouch), and the comics seem to be implying some worrying shit coming down the pipe for my boi, so I don't like shit happening from both ends. I DON'T HAVE THE CAPACITY TO HANDLE IT, Y'ALL!!

I feel like we're going to restart the clock next ep, but I DON'T KNOW HOW WE'RE GONNA DO THAT. The Loom (or timeline, I'm gonna get to this thought in a post tomorrow) exploded without any time for the main six to turn back the clock.

I haven't talked about it much on here, because I don't want to address a rumor and I don't want to believe it, but I have been dreading episode 5 since ep 1 because of Mobius and the Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Spoiler. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm very suspicious of this rumor and also a little superstitious of looking at it head-on because I don't want it to be real, so unfortunately you're gonna have to go into the lokius tag yourself to see if you can find it. It might also be in the Mobius tag. There is ONE good-ish possibility for this possible spoiler if it's legit, and it would be that it might prove one of my theories (plus maybe something else if they do it justice, but I don't have too much confidence they will), but either way it kind of upsets lokius and I'm not thrilled by that. I have a theory that's coming tomorrow that could have this happen while still giving us lokius endgame, but given how much time is left in the season I'm not very confident so I'm just gonna sit here for the next few days and pray it was a troll.

Also: "oh no" is a code phrase I've started with my friends that has made its way into my personal reaction notes, and now congrats, you've been (unwillingly) witnesses to it now, too. It means "I am starting to ship this and I don't want to-slash-I know I shouldn't, but I am." And (yike) if you recall this showed up on the reaction about Sylvie jumping into the lokius bickering. I'M NOT SAYING that I ship sylkius. I'M NOT SAYING that I'm GOING TO ship sylkius. I'm just saying I had THOUGHTS when she did that and I didn't love the thoughts I had. I think episode 4 of season one was when I started shipping lokius, though, so...fuck. (It should be noted that 90% of the time I go "oh no" just in general, though, I forget about it pretty quickly afterwards, so statistically it's unlikely.)

Holy Crap.

MD episode 6. Is. Amazing! So much happened and I can't even begin to try and analyze any of it. I'm just- just, wow.

It's obvious that Liam (the creator) has improved since the last few episodes.

The animation is fluid, it flows well and doesn't feel weird or robotic (despite them being robots).

The expressions are awesome! I especially love the part where Uzi and N talk through screen messages. Really cute touch.

The action, oh God the action! So much was happening, yet it wasn't too hard to follow. It rocked so hard! The fight sequences were so cool!

The plot twists are brilliant! Not gonna spoil em, but they are awesome!

The voice acting was so good! All the characters managed to convey so much emotion! Uzi's angst and distress and N's terrified screams and cute giggles were my personal favorite voice bits.

The atmosphere and tension were super well handled, and the jokes dropped were actually really well timed! (Unlike some shows I used to watch.)

And that final scene! Good Lord! That was legit a terrifying and honestly quite unfortunate twist for one of the main characters. (Don't worry, it's not N.)

I am so excited for the next episode, but I also know that it's gonna be a bit before that comes out. After all, the creators need to figure out how to create a follow up to such an awesome cliffhanger! Again, won't spoil it, but that is the best cliffhanger since episode 5. Go watch it yourself so you can see what I mean.

Totnt 1938! Episode 6 thoughts!

Another episode! Another long post that no one asked for 🙈 Here's how I felt about it-

Cheon Moo young, Yeon and Hyung ju's dynamics. There is so much conflict and emotions involved there that I don't even know how to feel about it all. They had some really sweet scenes today and it's clear that they cared for each other. Now, I don't know who is capable of killing whom. But well, we will get to know.

Coming to my boy Rang ❤ I really find him and the mermaid cute. The girl is so hopelessly in love already and I love the way she looks at Rang. I don't know why but sometimes their interaction ends up giving me this foreboding vibe, like when she mentioned that she will protect him. I don't know why it tends to scare me. I really loved the scene where my boy refuses to drop her home but still keeps an eye on her till she reaches home safely. 🥺 How Rang subtly and discretely cares for people is the reason why I love him so much 🥺❤ Also, the scene where he plays the piano. Oh god, Miss mermaid and all of us only have heart eyes 😍 So cute 😍😂

Tbh, I was a little clueless about the storyline that was going on today with this new monster Jang San Beom. I think it will make more sense by the next episode. And I don't know but I somehow don't care about this Eun-ho (future Yu-ri). I am really sad about it coz I loved her in the previous season but I don't feel much for her in this one till now.

Now, my utmost favourite part again this episode was Yeon and Rang's interactions. I wanted to give one slap to Yeon's idiotic head when he was about to strike Rang without even checking. Thank god for Shin ju for such occasions. But apart from that, everytime Rang worries about Yeon and tries to hide behind his hard exterior, my heart breaks a little. My boy was legit like " Take me along, I will have your back. I don't trust that friend of yours". The look he gives Cheon moo young when him and Yeon are finally going is one of absolute distrust coz he cares about his brother. How he is trying to help in whichever way he can but being all cold about it. Yeon cheekily telling him 'thank you for worrying about me' coz it's so evident. Ah, my heart. For Rang's sake, I want Yeon to be safe and come back and have that bowl of naengmyeon that he promised my boy. 🥺❤

So again, almost everything I loved about the episode had much to do with Rangie baby. The preview of the next episode again shows him getting hurt, so can the writers please stop with that. It's getting too much guys, watching him bleed every alternate episode.

Okay so two tiny stories about what happened with my idiot brother. First if all: He went on an insane rant after the episode about Lindsay and her cheating on pregnant Mel and how that was the same shit that happened in s1. Which I fully agree. He has a lot of feelings about the sam plot, not one of them is good. Except, he didn’t go on his rant to me but instead on one of the poor new nurses/interns at the hospital. The poor girl didn’t even know who or what he was talking about because the idiot slipped up a few times and said words like ‘my Brian/my Justin, How will i be able to watch Gus deal with this’ and so on, so it kind of sounded like he was talking about a friend. And he kept going on and on and the poor girl was GIVING HIM ADVICE! And also listening as if she was getting some amazing gossip. Only for one of the other nurses to walk in that does know him and before she left the room she pointed to him and went ‘and don’t pay attention to anything he says. He’s talking about a tv show not real people’ and the new nurse looked at him all shocked and this moron looks at her and goes ‘if it makes you feel better, they are real to me’

And then the second little story: he called our mom and left her multiple texts and voice memos and majority of them were about Brian and his cancer. But she’s a smart woman, so she didn’t answer. However he found a brand new victim. Our uncle. He called him and started talking about Brian and Justin as if they were his friends and i can hear the conversation because it’s on speaker and our uncle goes ‘(his name) is this about that show that your mom warned me about? That she specifically told me to not let you talk to me about it because you’re acting weird about it?’ And he goes ‘off the record? Yes, and i AM worried! AND FOR A GOOD REASON! Bri Bri has cancer and even though he’s doing better, cancer is cancer! And it’s scary. And then there’s Justin and theyre getting closer and closer and I can tell that Brian is seconds away from saying I love you. He’s changed so much this season. But on the record? I have no clue what show you’re talking about, never heard of it, so don’t even think about telling on me to mom’ And then the next thing that we hear is our mom on the phone going ‘(his name), youre on speaker. And you promised youd try and act normal about this show’ and this moron went ‘sorry, wrong number’ and then hung up. This man is an actual legal adult.
