I believe he would be the kind of guy that would show up, knowing when your lunch break is, with a nice little sack lunch that he has prepared for you, with all of your favorites in mind. He'd even put a little note with a smiley and heart on the paper inside the lunch, knowing that if he hung around during your lunch break would be probably frowned upon - so the note is enough to convey that he's thinking of you, supporting you, loving you.

Theyre 7 long ass closing shifts. And I love my team I do. I'm on my lunch (well dinner but) so here's me expanding on this I hope that's okay.

Your feet hurt, your back hurts. You want to be home, Jake leaves on tour soon so you'd rather be home with him. But at this point you'd settle for just being home. Another one of the supervisors is out of town and your manager isn't great at scheduling anyways.

You're in the back unpacking truck, not paying attention to your head set and who's ordering what. You're so zoned out that you don't recognize the voice at the drive through. It's been busy so it doesn't take long for one customer to be replaced with another.

Youre unpacking a box of espresso beans when the one thing you DO listen to comes over the head set "y/n can you come help us at the window?" Sighing you pocket your box cutter and put on your customer service face ready to deal with an angry customer.

As you round the corner you see your coworker smiling and then the customer. "I told him we couldn't take things back through the window." Your coworker teases but moves to take another order leaving you with Jake.

"Hey y/n" you can feel the tears at your eyes, you wonder if he had mentioned he was coming by, you hadn't checked your phone in a while. "If you really can't take this I can come around to the door but-"

Jake is holding up a paper sack, you swear you won't cry, it had already been a long day and you're only half way done. You want to tell him to meet you out back, you want a hug and to spend your dinner break with him. But your team is understaffed, your break will be paid and you'll have to eat as you can. "I think we can make an exception." You say instead.

"Thank you Jake." You whisper and he's grinning.

"Anything for my guy." You can tell how much he means it, still you can't help but peak up at the drive through screen, see the line of cars, slowly changing colors. Jake catches you a sheepish smile.

"I love you y/n." Jake says "I'll be home when you're off."

"I love you too." You say not wanting to close the window, go back to stocking. He starts driving first and you sigh.

"Y/n," one of your best work friends says "why don't you go eat, we'll hold it together."

"I can't clock out." You say "so don't feel bad if you need help."

You go to the back and you feel the tears well up again. Jake had packed all your favorites, there was even a little note.

Y/n, you're doing great!! You're almost done, I can't wait to see you tonight.

The note is littered with doodles, hearts and smiles faces. You jerk back when a tear hits the paper, and you take a deep breath. Carefully you fold the note and put it in your pocket as you eat.

You don't get an uninterrupted dinner, though you'd expected that. Your friends rib you about it when you have time, which only makes you smile more. Sticking your hand in your pocket as if reminding yourself it was there.

A normal hug, where two people cross each other and are unable to see the other's face since it's over their shoulder, is just as it is: a normal hug. It can be seen as platonic and/or romantic.

THIS is a lot more intimate. 3 and 4's heads touch while they hold each other by the hand. This type of hug is reserved more for romantic partners when the situation leads them to a devasting end, where they face each other to look at and remember what their partner looked like, one last time before they die.

In this case, it makes sense as the computer is collapsing within itself.

"It's not actually them tho." Yes, they're digital copies of 3 and 4 but that's the thing: they're COPIES, acting on what 3 and 4 would actually do

Love the fighting scene right by the end and the little details they have added in there. Okay i dont read webtoons but i did not like the drama what is up with the webtoon?

anon i am so sorry to leave you hanging all night, abshjsgdh, shouldn't have posed the question while i was tipsy.

but your wish (and @watchthisqqq and @2rose2furious 's wishes) that fulfilled my wish is my command! so, background, ba woo and hoon are indeed childhood friends. hoon's family owned the building that they and ba woo's family lived in. ba woo and his family moved in when he was 5 and i believe he's the oldest of 5 kids total. since their parents were on good terms and they were neighbors of the same age, they became friends

ba woo, as the eldest, is v no nonsense. he is a great student, v dedicated, and above all, sticks to his morals. he sticks to his morals so hard, in fact, that despite having a nerd look, he gets into physical altercations a lot bc he will throw hands if he thinks it's worth it. he's just prim and proper enough to make sure he never gets beat up or has visible signs of damage.

hoon on the other hand looks every inch the delinquent everyone thinks him to be. he's super clumsy and outdoorsy, so it looks like he's the one who gets in fights a lot, but he's also a v dedicated student and just a kind soul in general. they both love music (hoon tried to give ba woo's mom his piggy bank so that she'd buy ba woo a guitar) and like to sing/play together. once he turns 18, hoon even dyes his hair and pierces his ear. he exclusively wears gold jewelry bc ba woo once told him gold suits him. even when they meet in college about a year later, their dynamic is still the same.

anyway, ba woo confesses his feelings for hoon in high school, but one of the main characteristics of hoon is being insanely unable to read a room. like, the manhwa said literal god forgot to give him this.

so he unfortunately misunderstood this confession as just a friendship thing and goes around telling ppl that ba woo told him he likes him. bc hoon is v clingy and obviously likes ba woo more than ba woo likes him (even though he doesn't realize it), there's a running joke within the group they play basketball with that ba woo just puts up with hoon but doesn't actually like him. thus, hoon brags abt the verbal confirmation of their "friendship". everyone rightfully assumes ba woo confessed his feelings to hoon and a rumor that ba woo is gay begins to spread. (ba woo's known he was gay since middle school i believe, so it's not like a terrible thing, but korean hs society isn't the greatest place to be outed in, y'know?). ba woo manages to save it by saying "of course i like you, we're best friends" when asked if he said he liked hoon in front of everyone, but the gay rumor spread wide enough that the (minimal) damage was already done. so hoon essentially rejected ba woo and also outed him to the whole school. halfway through their senior year (the year the confession/outing happens), ba woo's family moves and he goes to a different high school and graduates there w/o hoon. he decides to use this as a clean break and goes no contact with hoon, trying to leave his previous life behind, put an end to his "unrequited" love, and escape his outing.

that's when the actual plot of the manhwa starts (fans of blueming, this will sound semi-familiar to y'all). in college, ba woo meets si won and da un and plays a side role in their plot. he's a FANTASTIC friend to both of them, mostly si won, and even follows the female side character's stalker and beats him up. ba woo and yun jeong (the female side character that actually ends up in a lesbian relationship with si won's sister si young!) team up and expose this stalker and basically drive him to dropping out, which helps si won bc the stalker also hated him and was spreading rumors abt how si won was a cheating two-timer (not true at all!). ba woo is fiercely loyal and protective of his friends and just all around a fantastic guy. i love you, do ba woo!!

hoon coincidentally goes to the same college and is in a 3 person band with a straight (seeming) couple: a bald headed dude and a cool androgynous punk woman who kinda adopt hoon as their younger brother. hoon meets ba woo on a random day, clings to him like always, ba woo is cold to him, hoon ignores this and keeps up their friendship, and hoon joins the main friendgroup with si won and da un and is around ba woo enough to jumpstart their plot again. before the manhwa main story ends, da un asks ba woo why he's so cold to hoon and gets the whole story. hoon overhears it and that's when he realizes that 1. ba woo liked him, 2. he accidentally outed ba woo, and 3. he likes ba woo back. he ends up dying his hair back to his natural color as a reminder to not forgive himself until ba woo forgives him. so then after that, he confesses his feelings to ba woo, apologizes and repents for everything he did, and repeats this over and over again until ba woo eventually forgives him. most of this happens in the extras and is hand-waved, but it does happen! ba woo even gets hoon a gold earring for christmas and that's how they (off-camera-ish) get back together. then ba woo returns to music and they become a musical duo and power couple, the end!

so yeah, that's basically their story! i love ba woo so so so much and i will always be so so so angry at the showrunners of something's not right for absolutely massacring his character. show!hoon definitely does not deserve everything that show!ba woo put him through, but i feel like the manhwa makes much more sense and develops their story enough that ba woo's aloofness makes sense. plus ba woo never strings hoon along like in the series, so they're overall just so so much better. i hope this has been entertaining, lmao, thank you for letting me infodump abt my favorite manhwa!! 💖💖💖

Just curious, what do you think about the season 8b speculation that Buck is going to be kidnapped in addition to or instead of Maddie? I'm semi conflicted personally because I so want to see a Maddie lead storyline but don't want to see a pregnant woman get kidnapped idk

I'm pretty conflicted about it as well, because I love a good Buck getting hurt story line and I love him as a character, so seeing him go through that (especially with those people theorizing no one notices he's missing) would be delicious angst.

And I do also think it would suck if it was Maddie, because not only has she been kidnapped before, she currently has a happy storyline going for her for a change, so I'd hate if they forced her into this again, especially if the focus isn't going to be on her and what it means for her, but reactions to it, specifically Buck's.

However, it's that last bit that has me kind of ugh about it, because ever since moving to ABC the show has gotten more Buck-centric. Now, I love Buck - gestures vaguely at all my fics about him - but what makes 9-1-1 so fun to me is that it's an ensemble cast show. I personally adore Hen and Athena (out of the uniform) and Eddie is actually my favorite character, and Chimney and Bobby are very fun. So, seeing them get pushed to the background for Buck doesn't sit right to me.

If they do go the Buck gets kidnapped route and it's going to mostly focus on Buck, I'm a little worried for the future of the show, because I don't want it to be the Buck & co. show, I want it to be the 118 show. However, I'm down for it if they handle it well. Like, if they want to start the buddie route and focus on Eddie's reaction specifically, then it would serve a purpose, or if it was to kick start Buck's no one will care about me spiral (though both can be achieved by kidnapping Maddie, since Eddie can be in Texas so hate to not be there for Buck this time to get his head on straight causing him to spiral, or it can be Buck losing it bc Chris is gone, Eddie will leave and now he might not get Maddie back, so...)

If they go the Maddie gets kidnapped route, it better have a focus on her and what it means for her character to get kidnapped again, while pregnant and a mother, when she specifically never had kids with Doug, because she didn't feel safe. As well as Chimney breaking down, because he went through hell to get Maddie back during her post-partum depression and they had this whole discussion about how scared he was to do it without her and now he might be losing her. Of course Buck is going to feature heavily in this too, because it's his sister and he already lost her to this very thing before, but I would want it to have space for all the emotional reactions, not just his.

I saw someone theorize that they get kidnapped together, which would be fun, since that person mentioned having Chimney's and Eddie's reactions to it parallel, which could be buddie arc start. And I think it could be fun to see with Buck wanting to sacrifice himself for Maddie, because she's pregnant and has a family at home, while he has nothing anymore, which ties into his spiral that will start that is being mentioned in interviews. Plus, you can have Maddie who will always be his protector first, suddenly have to deal with wanting to sacrifice herself, but now having so much to lose and can she do that to Jee-Yun? To Chimney? As well as having the team collectively lose their minds because their Buckleys have been taken.

Anyway, this is a large ramble that doesn't really answer much, but I think in the end, it can be interesting if it's Buck, but I would prefer it not to be unless well executed and a part of me doesn't see that arc getting executed well. Though I also don't like the fact that Maddie is getting kidnapped to begin with. However, I know the fics are gonna be great regardless in this fandom, so I'm clinging to that lmao

So... that garbage fanfic wants to put the dragon twins against each other ?? They aren’t Arya and Sansa, Baela and Rhaena actually love each other, and unlike Sansa, Baela never bullied her sister. And why would Rhaena resent the fact that she had to live with her stepmom and half siblings ??

This is if--and only IF--Phoebe is correct in how the show will decide to characterize Rhaena, and since they literally acted the character, shot all the scenes, and haven't gone on record with bad takes, I think we don't have much a reason to suspect otherwise.

BranwynHlfwitch over at Twitter has a whole thread pointing out other stuff how Ryan Condal has never had a great grasp on the plot or really of history & historians.

I think that part of it is they are trying to develop these characters for their larger roles they're planning during the Dance & the way they decided to go about that is to create conflict b/t the fan fav sisters. And I think they might try to to argue or imply that she is resentful bc of not just second-son syndrome, but basically Baela was picked by their grandparents to be closer and let Rhaena be. Why not both of them, if they are already seeming to break tradition? It will likely folow the theme of silent rejection the show allows the audience to quickly assume from episode 6, where Rhaena bemoans Daemon ignoring her bc of her not hatching an egg...which I already talked about.

Baela--for a very dumb reason--becomes the "ward" of the Velaryons & Rhaenys wants Corlys to name Baela as his heir...presumably without consulting Daemon, the girl's father or Viserys, the head of the house Baela is actually a part of and who would determine how his house's possible heirs inherit what over other candidates...bc Baela & Rhaena are both technically still in line for the throne though they aren't titled as princesses. Just way down and the claims would get stronger the more people before them die...which we already see in the bk.

Anyway, Baela is seemingly older than Rhaena instead of being her twin as by canon; she has a dragon where Rhaena does not; she is, bc she is older, taken to Driftmark to learn the ways of a leader as if she might become the head of a house or whatever even though we also know that Corlys has definitely not named her his heir by his & Rhaenys' conversation in the last episode (so for 6 years why is Baela there without being named when they could just visit each other--her and Rhaenys--by ship and dragonback [pic below] idk, the spectacle of it?).

And while Rhaena loved her dad, loved her stepsiblings/1st cousins-once-removed & I believe that Rhaenyra was a great stepmother to her, because the show did not show us their lives, they will take advantage of that and present us with a lot of stuff like this--breaking lore and going along with the breakage to build their own tale but also sometimes not showing a logical progression from that point of breakage [again, lok to the link abt cradle-bonding].

Yes, there's the argument that Daemon is merely worried over Rhaena's being singled put and left out or belittled, sidelined, for not having a dragon as he felt being a second son/child even with his dragon...but again, look to my post about cradle-bonds and the history of dragon bonds he supposedly knows and it becomes still dumb when he still ends up doing the very thing he's supposed to have feared for his daughter, to her.

Would it have helped if the writers actually developed these people's lives before the Dance and actually think through their plot decisions if they planned to make Rhaena-Daemon's deal this, absolutely! But we have what we have.

Show!Rhaena could come to just resent her sister for all this perceived favoritism.

Livery Watch 2024: Special Editions

Breaking News: Local woman still isn't done yelling about car liveries.

idk how many one-off liveries the teams are going to do this year, but in any case I love McLaren's livery for Japan, so if there's any more across this season I'll be updating this post as they appear throughout the year!

McLaren - Japanese GP Vuse "Driven by Change" livery

I LOVED this when the promo images dropped at the start of the week. The livery was designed by Japanese artist MILTZ and is inspired by Edomoji (a style of Japanese calligraphy), the design reminds me a lot of The Great Wave off Kanagawa but I'm pretty sure because they both have a wave motif.

I absolutely love the splashes of blue and white, I wish they were on the black portion of the car instead because the livery would look so much brighter, but I still love how it looks on the car regardless.

Ferrari - Miami GP Blue livery

Adding list to the very long list of the ways that Ferrari have disappointed me, and ngl I'm so tempted to put it right at the top.

After all the hype Ferrari had been putting out on socials I was expecting the car to be all blue (which, is in recognition of the 70th anniversary of Ferrari selling cars in the USA) and instead we have... this.

Like, no one would have forgotten that Ferrari's are meant to be red just bc the car went all blue for one race, especially because the team kit and overalls are all-over blue for this week (I am extra mad bc the shades of blue that's on the car are so stunning and would definitely have stood out compared to the other blue livery cars).

Also don't get me started on the silly amount of HP logos on the car, if I was a tifosi I would be beyond embarrassed rn

2/10 and that's me being nice.

Racing Bulls - Miami GP livery

Ahhhh. That's better.

I LOVE the multi-colour gradient (even if it does slightly resemble the instagram logo). I would have loved to see it all over the car because the chrome silver bull would look so nice against it.

But apart from that it's so bright and fun and it's going to look fantastic on track this weekend. I'm not even mad that it's matte.

McLaren - Monaco GP Senna livery

*shouting in the general direction of Maranello* You see this Ferrari? THAT'S how you do a special livery!

Yes, it's incredibly yellow (to the point it looks like a Benson & Hedges sponsored Jordan if you squint) but that's the whole point. (Also bonus points for the car pretty much being completely painted!!!)

As an ode to Ayrton Senna, it's pretty much spot on. For me the first thing that always sprang to mind when Senna is mentioned is his helmet design featuring the colours of the Brazilian flag. I also love the diagonal lines as a nod to the Marlboro McLaren livery.

Oh and did I forget to mention that IT'S NOT MATTE!!!

Red Bull - British GP "REBL CUSTMS - Stallion Red" livery

Like last season, we're getting three fan-designed RBR liveries this year in honour of the team's 20th anniversary and this is the first!

And god, I wish it was the main livery. The brushes of neon red are so bright and actually look interesting instead of the super corporate unchanged livery we've seen since 2016.

Usual 'I hate that it's matte complaints' but spart of that, it really looks great.

Williams - British GP livery

So in the design stakes, I definitely prefer last year's white accents design. However, on the sentimentality stakes (of which I will never be immune to), I love it so so much.

As it's been mentioned a lot in commentary already this week, the car features the names of all 1005 Williams team members - and founder Sir Frank Williams, which is just so so lovely.

6/10 for design, 10/10 for the sentiment behind it.

Alpine - Belgian GP "Deadpool & Wolverine" livery

ngl friends I have spent the whole time since this dropped staring at this going 'hmm'.

I definitely don't hate it, I think I once again find all the exposed carbon very off-putting, but at least there is more paint on the car this time compared with their core blue and pink liveries. (And, tbf, given how Deadpool's colour scheme is red and black, it does make sense from that pov)

The concept behind this is very fun, I genuinely cannot remember the last time we had a full promotional livery for something (Aston Martin did run the James Bond logo on their cars when No Time to Die came out, but that was it).

I think it would have been nice if there was more yellow (as cool as the Wolverine claw marks are), but overall it's definitely very fun. I really want to see how it's going to look on track.

Mercedes - Singapore GP "Petronas 50th Anniversary" livery

Not gonna lie, after the well documented events of the 2019 German Grand Prix, I honestly never thought we'd see Mercedes run a one-off livery ever again, so seeing this upon opening Instagram this morning was a nice surprise!

Might be worth saying that this livery is in honour of Petronas' 50th anniversary as a company (their title sponsorship with Mercedes only dates back to 2010), and the choice of debuting this livery at Singapore is that it's the race closest to Petronas' HQ in Malaysia.

(Powers that be pleeeeeeeeease bring back the Malaysian GP in Sepang!!!!!!!)

So, all that aside, I do very much like this livery. The Merc colour scheme of black, silver and teal is super iconic and works in pretty much any iteration. Design wise though I wish there had been a tiny bit of effort put in because they've literally just swapped round where the silver and teal is on their core livery.

I do think the car will stand out on track really well against the dark tarmac of the circuit, and the fact that from this picture at least the teal portion of the car looks glossy so it should look stunning under the floodlights at night.

Racing Bulls - Singapore GP "Hugo Boss Denim" livery

I want to get on board with this, I really really reaaaaaaaally do.

I just can't because they didn't properly commit to the bit and do the whole car in denim.

Unlike RBs Miami GP livery in which they got away with keeping the dark blue engine cover and halo because across the whole car the colour scheme still felt cohesive, on this livery (or, as we're all calling it, jivery) the saturated blue does not feel very put together with the rest of the denim. And I am a little bit mad about it bc if the denim had been all over the car I think it would have looked both amazing and really different on track. And for once, I don't mind the matte finish bc as we all know denim is not ultra-glossy - another reason why keeping the dark blue engine cover from the core livery just makes the whole thing look odd.

Love the concept, really not on board with the execution - 6/10 overall.

McLaren - Singapore GP "OKX Legend Reborn" livery

oh this FUCKS.

It's somewhat turned into a tradition of McLaren debuting a one-off livery in Singapore. In 2022 the sky blue accents on the core livery were swapped out for a stunning hot pink, and last year we had the mostly carbon stealth livery (you can find my thoughts on that in my Livery Watch 2023 tag).

And this year, as the name suggests, McLaren are running a livery inspired by the iconic Marlboro McLaren livery of the 1980s, with papaya orange in place of Marlboro red.

and to repeat myself, it FUCKS.

I love the stripe of white down the middle of the car, it really stands out compared to the slash of exposed carbon on the core livery and combined with the orange the car just looks so much brighter and is really going to stand out on track.

Is it a little bit Finding Nemo? Yes. Do I care? No.

For the tiny bit of exposed carbon it loses a point so - 9/10

Red Bull - Singapore GP "REBL CUSTUMS - Camo Bull" livery

I will update if I find a better picture, the RBR website is silly.

The funny thing about updating this post as the year goes on instead of doing a reblog for each new livery is that all the various off-track (ie. Red Bull scrapping their two remaining fan designed liveries because the paint they were going to use made the car too heavy) happenings do get a bit lost within the passing of time.

But, as this is my house and I can do what I want on Livery Watch, I'm gonna yell about what would have been RBR's Singapore GP livery anyway, as it has thankfully been put onto Hamda Al Quibaisi's F1 Academy car (plus matching overalls!!!) for this weekend.

And as I said on a post earlier today (as I write this) I am mad that RBR chickened out bc this is SUCH a sexy livery. It pays tribute to the og Camo Bull livery from 2015 pre-season testing so well and it's just DIFFERENT and FUN and is gonna look SO good on the circuit and the pops of neon red are just stunning. I love it.

Haas - United States GP livery

Not only are Haas going to be arriving at the Circuit of the Americas with Toyota Gazoo Racing logos on the car after the announcement of their new technical partnership with Toyota, they are also as seems to be turning into a tradition running a stars and stripes inspired livery for what is 'officially' the team's home race.

(I say officially as while the F1 calendar does have 3 US races, the race in Austin is the only one branded as the United States GP).

I do very much prefer this livery compared to the one they ran last year. The brighter, more saturated colours, work well against the predominantly black base, though I find the red driver numbers a bit hard to read as the white outline is a bit too thin. But I love the scattered star motif on the front wing and sidepods - I think it's very fun!

While I do get why the main emblem on the car is a hybrid of a lone star (bc Texas is the lone star state) and the head of an eagle (ca-caw, wtf is a kilometre) it does slightly give off 'concept art for an NFL team logo' vibes, and I think running with just the star motif would have gotten the same message across just as well.

(I will say though, I think the eagle art itself is pretty good! It just feels ever so slightly too much.)

Alpine - United States GP "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" livery

As the semi-official Livery Watch reporter for f1blr news, I do feel it's my journalistic duty to point out that Disney have not managed to pay Harrison Ford even more money to come back for another film, but that this livery is actually promotion for the upcoming video game of the same title.

My second thought upon seeing this livery (my first, like everyone else, was that it looks like a McLaren cosplay) was that I felt quite mad Alpine have painted more of the car for this one-off livery than they have done for their pink and blue core liveries, and I'm once again mad at the missed potential for what we could have had.

(My thoughts on the Alpine core livery can be found in my Livery Watch 2024 tag).

I did have to do some digging, and thanks to this video posted on Alpine's twitter feed and this post by one of Alpine's graphic designers, I am fairly confident in saying that the car is not in fact all over orange, and like the Indiana Jones logo is more of a yellow to orange ombré with a really cool looking treasure map motif on top.

I think the concept is fun (despite the promo images making the car look more orange than what it seemingly is) and it's been executed fairly well, but I may need to wait to see it in daylight before properly deciding if I like it or not.

McLaren - United States GP Chrome livery

As first ran at the British GP last year, McLaren have once again brought back their chrome silver livery of the late-00s and 2010s, in partnership with one of their main sponsors Google.

And, before I go in detail, I want to show my initial reaction via the tags on a post of this livery I reblogged earlier today because I think it sums up my feelings very well.

I cannot begin to express how delighted I am that McLaren have given this livery a second attempt, because the first version they ran last year was quite a big miss.

This version feels so much more thought out in terms of where the chrome silver paint will actually go and what this livery and the original Vodafone McLaren chrome livery do well is having a really bright pop of colour against the silver so the car doesn't look too bland (unlike the team's 2014 chrome and black livery).

Honestly? This is yet another banger of a McLaren one-off livery. It's silver chrome done stunningly well. 10/10.

Williams - Mexico City GP & Sao Paulo GP altered Core livery

The delay in the latest addition to Livery Watch is partially due to life stuff, and also due to me contemplating whether or not it actually counted since it's a sponsor driven change as opposed to a "let's do this for funsies!" change. BUT we have seen sponsor driven liveries this year so I have finally decided that it counts, so onwards!

The addition of the Mercado Libre logo and yellow colour splash for the two Latin American races of the year is definitely fun (it stands out on the car from a mile away) and either intentionally or otherwise evokes the classic blue, white and yellow Williams liveries of the 80s and 90s.

Obviously there would have been a limitation on what shade of yellow they could put on the car, and I am somewhat bummed that it covers the original Frank Williams Racing logo, but a lot of what I love about the 2024 core livery remains.

Solid 6/10

Sauber - Las Vegas GP Flame livery

I want to like this. However, I don't think I do.

My favourite part of this livery is the nose cone, I think the white to neon green gradient is actually quite nice and had it been done all over the car would have looked very striking on track (especially in contrast to the exposed carbon areas of the car).

I'm just... really not a fan of the flame motif. It looks fine on the front end of the car, but on the engine cover where it's just a flat line before the rest of the flames just makes it look so harsh and for me anyway it's the first thing my eyes are drawn to because it look so slapped on and out of place.

5/10 (mainly for the nose cone)

Alpine - Las Vegas GP, Qatar GP & Abu Dhabi GP 'Al-Pink' livery

When I tell you that upon opening my instagram and saw this I literally threw my hands into the air as if I myself had just won a Grand Prix (please also refer to my all caps post from earlier as an additional first reaction that sums up my general feelings nicely).

oh BWT, I could literally kiss you on the mouth for this. I genuinely have never been happier for a sponsor requiring that a team run a specific livery for a set number of races per season. Pink Alpine they could NEVER make me hate you.

And I am so utterly thrilled and delighted to say that thanks to one of the Alpine livery/graphic designers confirming in this post, IT'S A GLOSSY PINK 😭🙌

Previous BWT-pink liveries have been a much softer pink, but I just love the brighter in your face almost Barbie pink. I think they've gone in this direction since all the races this livery will be ran at are night races, so the slightly darker and brighter pink will definitely stand out against the dark circuit under the floodlights.

Yes, there is sadly more exposed carbon than I would like. But I honestly don't care. IT'S A SHINY PINK F1 CAR!!!!!!

Racing Bulls - Las Vegas GP "Glitter" livery

Gonna keep it short and sweet, and share my initial reaction to the livery via the medium of a screenshot of Discord DMs.

We could have had it all... truly. Racing Bulls were literally stood in front of an open goal and instead kicked the ball outside the stadium. My disappointment is beyond immeasurable rn.

3.5/10 - for the cohesive colour palette at least.

lance, the one who worked his ass off and only got to fighter pilot class bc keith left, the one who's seen as charming and not as talented as keith but he's just as determined and stubborn as he is, the one who wants to prove he is worthy of being a paladin and never backs down from a challenge

charles, who won races after losing family members and friends, the one that has the longest contract with ferrari ever, the one who got close to a wdc but due to team incompetency fell short of it and yet, he never ever gives up and gives his everything, the one that's the pretty boy and the charming one but he dishes back all the shit he gets on the track

like idk if makes sense to you guys but it makes sense in my head? like also the charles and max lore goes crazy bc they're literally only 16 days apart so they grew up (mostly) karting together and they had this rivalry going on that led to The Inchident (look it up it's one of the best memes and to this day max keeps quoting it lol) and then idr which category it was but max recommended charles for his seat when he left the team, then austria 2019 which led to the great insta unfollowing (max pushed charles off the track while overtaking for the lead and he didnt get penalized and charles was pissed), then silverstone 2019 which was charles responding to the austria move like "oh so we can do that? i'll do it then" and then the entirety of the 2022 season with those on track battles and then them seemingly becoming friends/closer and the whole narrative of them is giving me klance vibes

ok you made a good point that most sorcerers would prefer doing solo missions, but I think nanami would be a great partner. When I'm in high pressure situations I don't really like small talk, so I'd like to imagine that if we were on missions together we'd both work in silent communication. Kind of a get in get out, rapid execution deal. 💛💙

7. What storyline would you tell to your friend to get them into JJK?

But in all seriousness I think that after I'd lay the groundwork of the main plot, I'd tell them about maki. 0 cursed energy is such a unique and interesting (and stigmatized) thing in jujutsu society and layering in the gender dynamics that gege briefly touches on makes her such a compelling character to me. (+ it foreshadows toji in hidden inventory [booo] and maki's absolute massacre of the zenin clan later in the manga [yaaay])

9. What's your favorite fight scene?

Ahh legit such a hard question bc I love fight scenes and jjk has so many good ones! but...

Toji v Dagon. Toji comes into the domain as a man possessed (literally), and he's lethal and feral and wild and it's the one time I thought he could actually get it. When he sharpened playful cloud I actually got a manic grin >:)

12. If you could change one event in Jujutsu Kaisen, what would it be?

Ok, what I want is for suguru to not die. However, I also like the current plot for the most part, and I really like how history is repeating but yuji/megumi can break the cycle. So, I think my best attempt would be that Gojo doesn't kill Geto in jjk0, but they stay tense and estranged. And then somehow Kenjaku, like, shapeshifts to look like Geto in Shibuya so gojo's whole emotional character arc still happens. Idk maybe Mahito can idle transfigure him into a Geto-enough shape to fool Gojo temporarily before he's sealed.

Because then real Geto can have a strong enough reason to come back in the fold to help unseal Gojo...and then he has a really messy, zuko-level redemption arc and he makes up with Gojo and they get married <3 ✨🫶

1. Misty - 9.5/10

i said she was annoying but like i get her now. in both the crash and adult timeline, she has the best story and characterization. maybe because her actresses are so great, but definitely her whole arc is unrivaled.

2. Nat - 9/10

her storylines in both arcs are extremely good. definitely the most important yellowjackets member along with misty, i love their little tandem. i just don't like her purple era but she did find a daughter there!

3. Shauna - 9/10

make up your fucking mind girl! one minute she's against lottie's weird cult shit, the next second she's chasing natalie so she can kill her for food and say the wilderness chose! however her craziness post-birth must be a sort of post natal psychosis. adult shauna makes up like 7 points of the 8.5, she's the better shauna for me because she's a straight up loser with an equally loser husband.

4. Coach Scott - 8/10

high ranking out of pure pity like i am so worried for this man. i hope he's still alive and he's experiencing time-traveling hallucinations or whatever, since time traveling is a pretty big theory. i wish he does survive and all the paul scenes are his present scenes but he's gone off the rocks and thinks he's still in the wilderness. this dude is the only one not extremely or supernatully fucked up bc he didn't participate in the cult thing hopefully. BURN THEM CABINS DOWN BAYBEEE

5. Lottie - 7.5/10

when your schizophrenic dreams are misinterpreted by the rest of the group and you're forced to be the face of cannibalism 😂😂🤣🤣. robbed shauna of her cannibal crown. was just being un-medicated then the rest of the team decided to honor her like a god. there were times were she was annoying but you realize she quite literally has done nothing but every single sidekick of hers decides to speak for her and it just goes wrong every single time.

6. Taissa - 7/10

tie. extremely curious about the bad tai and the man with no eyes, which serves as the only "supernatural" event in the series shown that is not in the wilderness or post-wilderness. it would be fucking crazy if tai was the one who bought "It" in the wilderness instead of it like actually already being there, like maybe that was their home? with all the cult symbols or whatever. sometimes i do just find her boring im sorry, she's just like shauna she's extremely indecisive and it's pissing me off! only 7 bc FREE SIMONE ❤️ joking

8. Travis - 7/10

i pity this man so much but sometimes he's boring and his season 1 arc had me skipping scenes. but his brother went missing, "died", came back, then actually died and then no one said "sorry we had to give up your brother to the wilderness, it was either nat or him and the wilderness chose him! we honestly could've atleast tried in helping him get out of the ice cold water but we were hungy". like can we please give this man a break? i wouldn't be surprised if him and natalie refused to hunt for them, if they're all just going to pick cards and eat each other, why hunt for deer, right?

9. Van - 5/10

i feel like one of the only people with a dislike for van's character like. lottie dickrider, i get you "owe" the wilderness for letting you live like you're obviously the favorite but the way she treats the other yellowjackets pisses me off, especially when she straight up said to travis she wasn't ashamed for sacrificing javi? why is she a stronger indoctrinated christian than lottie? i wish they reveal more about her because to be honest her character's a bit of a blank slate, it would be amazing if they start showing a more deeper relationship between her and whatever's in the wilderness. i feel like, in both the show and the fandom, van doesn't have much to her character without tai. her only storyline without tai is with her mother, which we were shown barely 30 seconds of.

i watched lisa’s whole coachella performance last night and here are my thoughts that i wanted to share: the stage production, the outfits, the incorporation/execution of the alter egos, the dancers, lisa’s stage presence and charisma were all amazing! i hope for the second week the camerawork and her microphone volume will be improved. the camera was zooming out way too much to the point that a lot of good choreography moments were missed which is a shame. i think lisa definitely heard the criticism and took some notes bc the backtrack was noticeably quieter than usual and her voice could be clearly heard. however sometimes the mic was very quiet like during moonlit floor for example. i also expected more choreography from her which left me a little disappointed ngl. it seems that lisa wants to be seen more as an artist than a dancer and obviously she focused more on live vocals so i get that she couldn’t do elaborate dances the whole time but most of the time she was just walking. and if she truly wanted to focus more on singing it baffles me that she still left out so many parts in almost all of her songs. chill disappointed me the most bc that’s my favorite song and she didn’t sing the chorus at all! and to this day she has never sung the “dollar bills” part of money live and this time we didn’t even get a dance break for money she was just sitting down.. the whole time i was waiting for at least one incredible dance break that would make my jaw drop and finally showcase her amazing dance skills. at the end she did finally perform the dance break for rockstar but it was nothing new so it still left me wishing for more tbh. idk why her and her team don’t want to show off her biggest talent?? again i would understand it more if she went fully out with the singing and she definitely did improve on that like she didn’t lip sync as far as i noticed but she did leave out quite a lot of parts in almost all of her songs. i don’t think she performed a single song fully from start to finish. i also wish tyla would’ve joined her for their collab. but overall i think she did a great job, she really did demand that stage and reminded me at least that she was born to be on stage. i also liked the set list and this whole album (minus dream maybe) is really well suited for coachella. like songs that i don’t really enjoy much like thunder for example were amazing live! her opening with thunder gave me goosebumps actually it felt so grand! this could’ve been a headliner performance tbh. the band and dancers really delivered too and elevated the whole performance. and finally the alter ego concept was properly used and brought to life (i didn’t understand the difference between speedi and roxi though since they basically wore the same outfit??) the transition from futw to lalisa gagged me a little bit bc going from “you want the old lisa then listen to my old shit” to lalisa was really unexpected! sorry this got so long but wanted to share my thoughts and i think lisa overall did a good job and showed that she listens to criticism and constantly wants to improve

i’ve only seen fancams and short clips of her set but her stage presence and charisma were OFF THE CHARTS !!!!!!! it’s clear that it must have been such a fun show for the crowd 🤩🤩 the stage production was so amazing too and i LOVE how they incorporated the alter ego concept! and yes, i’ve seen several people complaining about the camerawork, which i gotta say is not surprising cause if i recall correctly people have complained about camerawork for most kpop artists during the first weekend 🙃 hopefully it will be adjusted for next week !!!! her vocals also improved a lot and once she works out that breath control she will really be unstoppable! 😁

the dancing aspect is pretty much my only issue 🙃🙃 i really really don’t get why they are highlighting her dancing, as that is her strongest skill ?? i get it if she wants to be seen as more than just a dancer or whatever, but ngl that’s really dumb ? her dancing skills could easily make her stand out and take her career to the next level, and instead it’s getting constantly sidelined. i think that maybe they’re trying to distance lisa from her kpop identity as much as possible to let her create a whole new image as a solo artist and, since as a kpop idol she was a main dancer, they’re trying to separate her from the dancer image now that she’s a solo artist. that’s wrong and dumb tho ….. i never thought i’d have to say this but they need to let lisa dance

we watched Jason 2 last night- I'm sorry Friday the 13th part II is too long a title, they're about Jason being a very good boy so they're called Jason movies. Period.- and now I kinda want to watch all of them. Except that crappy one. Where he's Corey Feldman's character all grown up and he thinks he's Jason? And there's this really weird keystone cops vibe to the whole thing? Idk. That ones bad.

But the best one - besides Jason in Space and Jason vs Freddy- is the one where the kids are at camp and these children have hilarious glorious lines like "what did you want to grow up to be?" Bc they just accept that Jason is going to murder them too.

Without looking anything up, I'm pretty sure I can do all the Jason movies. Let's go:

Momma voorhees. Great sweater, excellent momBob, and you get to see Kevin Bacons Bits if you know when to pause the movie. 3.75 stars. Not funny, kinda off vibes

Pretty good kills, the dog laters out to go join a wolf pack (run by muffin obs), and Corey Feldman gives himself a bad haircut to bond with our big headed hero,Jason. 4.25 outta 5. Funny, more agile Jason, and I had no sympathy for the college idiots who died epically.

The fucking worst. I think they were trying for a Legacy Jason bc he definitely "died" in 3. So elder teen Corey Feldman thinks he's Jason and at the POORLY run TROUBLED TEEN camp he goes to someone starts killing folks. I vaguely remember the actual killer but... who cares. This is the worst. 1 star.

Again w all adulted Corey (reminder not thr actor but the character, but who bothers to remember their names?) Digs up Jason's body, it gets struck by lightning and He's Back! I think this is the one with the biker gang. And the sheriff's daughter has a taste for danger and breaks not-corey out to defeat Jason. 2.5 stars. I think there was an rv death? But a fun scene in a barn!

Jason's not dead, just napping and when he ends up in a morgue his heart infects a doctor who becomes... jason...? It's odd. You guys remember Nightmares on Elm st dream Child? I think it's like that. 2 stars. Fucked if I remember anything from this movie. This is where I get a little shaky

Jason back at camp baby! I think this is the one with the funny kids. And it's just a really straight forward slasher. No lore, no stupid shit just bad counselors getting what they deserve for not watching children. 3.9 stars. Best part is the kids

Jason on a boat. He was in Manhattan for like 10minutes. He kills a kid with a guitar, and the inside of boats are very dangerous. No lore. 3.75 stars

Jason vsFreddy. The best team up full stop. With Jason's relentless desire to punish bad teens and Freddy's pervy ass? Forget about it. Nice lore, and the addition of seeing how happy Jason is in his death is perfection. 5 outta 5 stars. Look yes, Jason's gonna kill you, he'll have fun with it, but he won't sexually assault you while doing it.

s9 vol 6: oh fuck I was joking last time but am i.. is this gonna be a Hamish route for me??? 😳

i guess first of all, the kelly/kat drama. I know it's yet again Finn and Kat but I'm happy they're dealing with it in a different way (although if S5 is Suresh's island, I can't help but think S9 is Kat's island 🙄). The thing that annoyed me the most is MC not being able to say anything? Like Kelly brought up the note, I feel like MC and Finn should've said something.

however we do get this, which, as someone with a friend whose name starts with K going through relationship troubles with a Korean man, actually I'm offended they took my joke and made it less funny,

but snog marry pie! Most of the girls (my MC included) choosing to kiss Hamish? It's like we all forget how bad a kisser he was in S6 like what happened. however, uhhh kinda worth it like I was initially intrigued about a Finn or Stefan route but Hamish is really coming in as a dark horse with chat like this (especially considering how sassy MC can be this season)

and the thing too is even though hes clearly changed bc they're making him a serious LI this season, there are several moments where I'm like yeah that's the same guy that had the audacity to ask S6 MC to run away with him at the end of S6

Then I played by rules like Chen, and chose a different person to snog, a different person to marry, a different person to pie. And then Hamish gets his little moment kissing and marrying MC, which kind of undermines the big moment which is his speech where he pies himself? like the talk on the terrace later this volume is great and I love the flirty banter between him and MC but he's so wishy washy about Natasha and it just doesn't really get addressed?

Kat's partner (in my game, Jude) is a whole mess. Like it'd be one thing if he's gonna be like "hey I'm sorry I was just defending Chen because I misinterpreted some stuff I thought you did" but it's another to do all that meanwhile he was also being shady about flirting with Melissa???

Then they call the incident Melgate bc... fusebox struck gold with Cherrygate and has been trying to recreate it ever since and has always failed. I never clicked the gem scene that would prompt Kat to tell you this story, and so I was so confused until they explained it in the next episode and that was so annoying. Then they do the thing (again!) where they like shame you for not being a friend (Kat's like "I tried to tell you"). this is worse than when you had an ugly dress and the girls were like God you look awful.

Jude being vague during the game was annoying bc i know theyre just stretching it out but also absolutely I could see that happening on the show where he's like "you know what you did. we'lltalk about it later" and it cuts to MC in the beach hut being like "judes being a real bitch. of course I know what I did but which time are you referring to"

Chen being constantly voted the sweetest during the challenge and then awards night is great but also just reminds me that his character is gonna be so vague from now on bc he's sharing a personality with three other guys. like its gonna hurt to break him but also he's not getting the care from the writing team that they've been giving the other routes so unfortunately he's boring rn 😬. doesn't even have the audacity to be mad just has to go away and think. And Chen just keeps taking L's too with MC (at least in my game) flirting with everyone and Jude in his ear saying MC can't be trusted. like if he twists in casa I'm not even sure if the audience would blame him (they would bc they love MC but ya knowww)

I feel like awards night is usually an end of season thing when the producers of the show have not much drama left bc the couples are solid and they want to throw in drama for the last week, but seeing as this is a game and they can just write in the finale whenever, I guess here is alright. anyways i was saying. donnie is one of those nerds who like perfectly iv trains his normal ass in-game team and builds perfect compositions around typings and looks up the gyms types n stuff and he was SO excited when he learned abt tera types and how they impacted team comps

leo on the other hand has the messiest type crossover and team comp EVER but still manages to thrash his opponents bc he uses really good movesets and strategies

the twins get into watching competitive videos while they play violet in silence together (hashtag parallel play) until donnie eventually starts commenting on weird stat spreads and leo eventually bursts out about shitty move choices and weird sets, or leo starts showing donnie videos abt odd pkmn getting high in latters, and then they start watching showdown battles...

and they lightbulb.

donnie loves building teams more than anything else, loves making them efficient as humanly possible.

leo loves showing the potential of odd pokemon and would kill for a good strategic challenge after all this time (hes been protecting against nemona and using electroweb against gym leaders, poor guy).

and, well, its not like you need anything special to get on the ladder in violet...

they start out simple, donnie building a basic team and leo reviewing it before going at the basic gen 9 ladders.

they kind of wreck house.

they just start going at the ladders with that team in their free time, then a different one when they get bored, then one with a few oddballs when donnie decides to ask leo what pokemon he wants to use, then they get kind of bored of just paldean pokemon so donnie gets to work understanding showdown...

but while its fun, they dont have anyone to brag to, because their brothers have no fucking clue what theyre talking about.

donnie has experience with youtube, right?

so they set up a little joint thing; a channel called disasterx2, no webcam, just videos about ladder battles. they end up specializing both in unique teams and movesets and in just vids about breaking down walls in ladders with a normal team. what makes both nifty is that donnie explains the whole team comp in a separate video to the battles, and the aesthetic quality is improved by donnies sensibilities and mikeys input (he was absolutely excited when they asked him to help with it. leo was no help. so much offense, actually, i have a feeling his fashion sense is good but the moment you try to make him make something look good visually on its own hes screwed.), and leos strategies are batshit, and ofc the boys are the boys, they go on tangents sometimes when they do real-time audio during battles and sometimes they just. dont cut them out. raph and mikey make guest appearances sometimes, april cheers them on on occasion, her and raph are very relieved bc its finally something non destructive they can spend their time on, its all great.

leo very often picks pokemon and movesets out and then donnie provides the pokemon (through breeding and stat spread tweaking, because god knows hed love that nerd shit). donnie likes it because 1. how leo uses those outlier pokemon is very interesting and 2. it gives him an opportunity to think about how to apply the right stats, natures, etc to apply to the pokemon and moves leo chose.

one of my favorite ever headcanons is that leo gets quiet when he focuses. like, dead quiet, and terrifyingly quiet. hes well known in their fandom for being very chatty over voiceover and then pretty quiet whenever hes playing challenging battles. donnie doesnt understand the strategies all that well so when leo gets too focused he just talks a lot abt the stat spreads and they add extra text to the video lmao. sometimes they utilize their clueless family members to have them ask questions they wouldnt have considered due to their knowledge in videos, sometimes donnie snags mikey while leos too quiet when theyre doing real-time audio, etc the fam knows theyre just glad theyre having fun
