I was thinking to myself, "This art is amazing, but I don't know if I'd be so excited to get such mediocre chocolates," when I noticed the image of the chocolates themselves. The difference is wild, just look at these!

The original Whitman's Sampler:

Delectable, delightfully colorful. I might not like everything, but I'd be excited to at least try them. The gold wrappers are a nice fancy touch. $2 ($20.16 after calculating for inflation) for a pound of chocolate, a total of 56 pieces based on the original post's image (counting the almonds as one object), or 84 pieces based on the variety pictured above. That's a lot of choclate!

Compare those to the modern version, as distributed by Russell Stover:

Not nearly as exciting but serviceable and better than no chocolates at all. (This package is about $30 USD for 1.5 pounds.)

Turns out Whitman's was bought by Russell Stover in 1993, which was bought by Lindt and Sprüngli in 2014. Lindt was bought by Sprüngli back in 1899, so I suppose this is old hat now.

There's also the matter of quantity. In previous years, the sampler had 15 chocolates in two layers, 30 total. In 2022, the same sized box had only 11, for a total of 22. Look at the way they changed the packaging! Same price of about $13 USD for nearly ⅓ less product.

I don't really know where I'm going with this, but I've been looking at this post and these chocolates for almost an hour, and I don't want to delete all this.

+ It might be a reach, but I have a final due soon; I need ideas/requests for accomodations for various injuries, disabilities, or otherwise impairments pilots are forced to grapple with, both on and off the field.

+ My Tutor reasoned a good final exam would be a portfolio of designs that actually help people. I only became an engineer after the prosthetic hands my homeworld provided became more trouble than help. I designed my own hands for my own needs (then added two more, because it looks sick). Then I designed my own TTS interface for both my personal PDA and my frame's cockpit, allowing me (born mute) to better communicate with peers. As for others, I've designed various orthopedic braces for pilots used to different degrees of gravity or who struggle to ambulate outside of the cockpit, streamlined the design of the traditional electrolarynx, outfitted different types of hardsuits for pilots with varying body types (i.e. our friends with biomods), and more.

+ I know that my work may be a bit redundant in various circles, but where I live, and where I come from- not everything can be erased by implants or augments.
