Zephyr may not have been overly excited about a baby sibling in the beginning but that didn’t last long once Eloise arrived and all he wanted was to go on adventures with his little sidekick.

- Archdeacon Gustave: After the death of the last Archdeacon, Gustave was next to take his place. He is a kind and gentle man, but he has a lot of anxiety due to the weight of expectations and he’s unsure if he can live up to the legacy of his predecessor. Gustave often visits Quasi and brings him pieces of unique wood for the bellringer’s projects.

- Esmeralda: Now the mother of 2 beautiful children, Zephyr and Kisaiya, she can’t help but worry about their safety with Phoebus as a judge now. Societal pressures aside, she also has been helping the other Romani settle into a new home just outside the city walls since the Court of Miracles proved no longer safe. With Clopin getting older, he’s been leaning on her as a leader.

- Phoebus: Since Frollo’s demise, the captain of the guard has been promoted to “temporary” Judge while the King looks for a replacement. This has taken a long time since Phoebus has been doing an excellent job much to the man’s chagrin. Phoebus has never been one for clerical work and yearns to go back to keeping the streets of Paris safe. The other drawback to his new position is how distant he must be with his family. He misses them dearly.

-Zephyr and Kisaiya: The children of Phoebus and Esmeralda! Zephyr is a caring older brother even if he is annoyed by his little sister’s insistence of following him everywhere. He wants to be a brave warrior just like his father and loves to play with his little wooden sword. Little Kisaiya (or Kizzy as Quasi lovingly calls her) loves to visit her Uncle Quasimodo in the bell tower, always excited for the newest toy he’s made for the siblings. She is very curious and is always eager to follow her brother on some adventure, trusting that he’ll keep her safe and out of trouble.

I am McFreaking convinced that Evangeline is actually the Blue Fairy-- they're the same freaking star, both blue, both are the centerpiece of wishes in both stories. The Blue Fairy is an immortal being that can take the shape of anything, is it really that farfetched she can take the shape of a firefly? And also, when Ray dies and becomes the star right next to her, she also becomes the Second Star to the Right like in Peter Pan (though the time periods are different). Iconic, truly iconic.

- Marjorie: Taken in after the death of her mother, she is Madame Rousseau’s errand girl. She is the youngest member of the circus at 21 years old. She admires Quasimodo greatly and is worried for his safety around her employer.

- Madame Rousseau: Owner and Ringmaster of Madame Rousseau’s Magnificent Miraculum! A skilled hypnotist with a sadistic streak as wide as the Seine. She loves to collect oddities and outcasts for her circus, her eyes firmly locked onto the kind bellringer.

- Quasimodo: A shy and kind man who is discovering new opportunities and ways to heal. After 30 years in the bell tower, he’s discovering there might be a life away from the stone sanctuary he’s always known.

Part 3 and 4: Is War a Last Resort and Is It Declared by Proper Authority?

 Is War a Last Resort? Maybe? Roland II is the talk it out type. So, if everyone got their grievances together. He might be willing to listen. HOWEVER, he has also proven to be kind of stubborn and a little bit of a butt when he's called out on stuff. So, it's a coin flip. If he listened and mended his ways meaningfully, peace could be achieved. No war needed. If not? We're going to war, baby! Is it Declared by Proper Authority? Maybe? (Yes. If we get the whole Kingdom to do it. No. If it's just Cedric.) Here we have two branching paths. Who is declaring the war? If the whole country, peasants and abused staff alike, then we are justified. If it's just Cedric or one or two other people who are zealots? Probably not justified. So, here we have the major difference between what happens at the end of Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame vs. "Day of the Sorcerers." If we had a version of Cedric, that like Phoebus, Clopin, Esmeralda, and Quasimodo, had rallied all of the annoyed staff and citizens to declare a rebellion on Roland for all of the legitimate grievances they carried that is justified. There are many grievances brought together. It's a united front with all the faces of the dumb things Roland has done coming together to bite him in the butt. In this version of the telling, if Cedric hadn’t been a recluse? If he had gotten other people to see what he saw by not getting in with the Order and taking his cause to the staff and the streets?

We might have had a completely different story with a lot more nuance and justification for that uprising. I mean that’s … that’s a Les Miserables barricade story. That’s not a Disney villain anymore.(Okay, now we need Cosette and Valjean fanart of Sofia and Cedric. Who’s getting on that? My brain is exploding from cuteness! Oh, why does it just WORK?!)

When Cedric rebels alone, that's vengeance not justice. He's taking his own hurt and trying to take over things to benefit only himself. No matter how you spin it, this is what happens.

Cedric has just cause for freaking sure! It changes absolutely nothing that Roland has a TON to answer for, but Cedric is no longer just in action because he's acting out of his own selfishness and not out of a desire for the good of the whole.

Thus, Cedric's fatal flaw was his isolation.

If he had rallied the people?

If he had gotten Miranda and Sofia, and maybe even Amber and James, to see reason based on what he (likely) knew about Lorelei?
