I love my fucking job. SO MUCH. I was an hour late to work last week (oops) and even though I did get written up for it, management never made me feel like less of a person for slipping up. Riggs wrote me a poem (Shayla Reay Ricochet, why you gotta be so goddamn late), played a Hannah Montana music video for me bc "Everybody Makes Mistakes, Everybody Has Those Days", and helped me get caught up by washing some of my dishes. Dawna complimented me on my scones, shirt (Hummusexual is a logo that definitely evokes acknowledgement, but still) (sidenote. Hell yeah https://laziz-foods.com/pages/about-us) and made sure that I felt valued.

Even when I put them in a situation where they HAD to punish me, we all apologized, sign write up slips over laughs, and ended the day like it was any other. Sure, I felt bad for being late. Obviously they were placed in an uncomfortable situation of writing someone up. Neither parties enjoyed themselves, but rather than dwelling on our discomfort we chose to be above it. We didnt allow it to affect our dynamic poorly. THAT is the shit that makes that caffe my home.

I'd never say it to their faces, but I love the Caffe Ibis staff more than most of my valued belongings. I wouldn't trade these relationships for the world.
