Justin Horowitz at MMFA:
Project 2025 advisory board members have attacked or outright called for the end of no-fault divorce, the option to dissolve a marriage without having to prove wrongdoing by a partner. Research highlighted by CNN found “no-fault divorce correlates with a reduction in female suicides and a reduction in intimate partner violence,” including “an 8 to 16% decrease in female suicides after states enacted no-fault divorce laws.” Project 2025 is backed by a nearly-900 page policy book called Mandate for Leadership, which extensively outlines potential approaches to governance for the next Republican administration, including replacing federal employees with extremists and Trump loyalists and attacking LGBTQ rights, abortion, and contraception. The Heritage Foundation’s proposals have a track record of success — the first Trump administration implemented 64% of Mandate’s policy recommendations. Project 2025 is also supported by a coalition of over 100 conservative organizations, many of which have spent years promoting critiques of no-fault divorce as “destructive” for society — or even blaming it for enabling a “culture of death.” According to a Media Matters review, at least 22 Project 2025 advisory board members have made similar comments targeting, restricting, or eliminating no-fault divorce. Additionally, MAGA and far-right media figures have pushed for the removal of no-fault divorce laws across the country, and several local Republican parties in Texas, Nebraska, and Louisiana have called for the dissolution of no-fault divorce in some capacity.
Project 2025 partner organizations, including the American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, Family Research Council, and The Heritage Foundation, have called for significant restrictions or an outright ban on no-fault divorce.

apologies to my followers who don't watch Star Trek but i still cannot get over the way Data enters the bridge in episode 2 of TNG after having just boinked Tasha. look at him. the style. the lean. the confidence.
this is the fruitiest android i have ever seen!
#star trek#star trek data#data tng#so context: basically everyone on the u.s.s enterprise catches an infection from another ship that makes them act drunk#because they were investigating what happened to the crew after receiving a strange and concerning message from them#basically they were all dead from the ship's emergency latch getting borked because everyone was drunk and their judgement was impaired#so they ended up messing with the ship and got frozen to death#this spreads to the u.s.s enterprise through touch and when it gets to tasha she ends up finding data#and tasha's like ''hey bbg you're 'fully functional' right? wanna smash'' and data's like ''why yes of course i am fully functional#and yes i do want to partake in this 'smashing' activity''#and then they bang#and the infection spreads to data (despite him being an android and not a human which implies the infection is quite strong)#because tasha touched him#and this is the way he waltzes into the bridge afterwards. keep in mind he is usually not this emotive like at all#he's so babygirl#you will likely only see dataposting for the next few weeks im so sorry#i love data so much you dont understand

Can someone make angst art of Gem and Joel at the Spanner meeting room (from Grian's POV) that is like a gif that glitches back to Mumbo and Skizz and has like the text of whatever Grian was saying about how it's like they've "been there the whole season" or "it's not weird at all". And also when it glitches to Mumbo and Skizz there's like dark sky purple watchery motifs and eyes around them
#I can picture it so perfectly in my head#Also you can't see Grian in the pic bc it's from his pov#Gem and Joel (and Mumbo and Skizz) would maybe all look at Grian concerned#I just like the idea of Grian becoming so watcher-esque and losing so much of his humanity that#be convinces himself it really is just the same as it's always been#2 other humans right? Doesn't really matter who right? Just 2 other humans? They're starting to blend together anyways aren't they .#wild life smp#trafficblr#grian#watcher grian

If you are scrupulous, the gulf between what you were taught about religion and what you think you were taught about religion could be huge. It is, of course, fully possible that you were given bad doctrine by clueless individuals, but if you still have access to the people who schooled you in your faith—family members, family friends, mentors with whom you remain in touch—it might be worth asking them what they meant by some of the things they said. The scrupulous mind tends to draw very extreme conclusions. You might be shocked by some of the clarification that you get.
#The reason I am still Catholic is that I happened to be very open with my mom about whatever fears I had around religion growing up#and she was able to say “that’s not what I meant at all” so even if I secretly feared she was wrong and I was right#I at least knew what she really believed and what she had been trying to tell me and I knew what was my own extrapolation#I have no idea where I would be if I hadn’t had anyone to run those concerns by#Scrupulosity creates a version of religion that no human being can possibly adhere to so when that’s what you think you were taught#how are you gonna maintain your faith? You’re not#religion#scrupulosity

I don't know what I love more, the fact that as rook you can make a statement in NO uncertain terms that you are NOT responsible one way or the other for the theological implications of the shit you're discovering in the 'regrets of the dread wolf' memories. not my jurisdiction. quite simply none of my business. not my chantry circus not my chantry monkeys. irrelevant to the matter at hand here we'll kill that god if we get to him he can get in line. or if the best thing about it is seeing the lone little 'lucanis approves' that pops up right after choosing it. corvid with a knife about to commit deicide keeping it real and sensibly, pragmatically, wilfully agnostic with me here in this magical lighthouse today
#we do not see it. we cannot read all of a sudden.#rye having war flashbacks to watcher conferences and firmly going 'we are *not* getting derailed by the metaphysics here folks'#rare stern moderator/dad hat moment from ingellvar lol. he's Seen Some Shit in his time (debates that raged over the multiple#and not always concurrent life times of the participants involved. ain't no academic rivalry like watcher academic rivalry#because watcher academic rivalry doesn't stop even when everyone involved is dead. and the rest of us have to live with it)#I. do not think the way I'm getting this quest is how it's meant to be experienced so I'm a bit at a loss as to how to pace it out#I've been an annoying little completionist so I have ALL the statues and could just marathon it out#but that does not feel like the best way for the story and upcoming reveals to work. hm. how to do this#I'm supposed to go fail to save weisshaupt right around now I can't be having study group with all of you rn as much of a delight as it is#rye is nominally an andrastian as mainstream nevarrans generally are but as I gather is the case with many of the watchers#what he *actually* believes in is the grand necropolis itself haha#(and the philosophy of history memory death and relationship (as well as responsibility) between the past and the present#and indeed the future that it represents. we have a duty. to what has been to what is and to what will come after us. good shit)#the nevarran/mortalitasi element just makes their lack of care or respect for chantry orthodoxy *mwha* that extra bit special#the nevarran lack of concern bordering on quiet condescending disdain for official chantry doctrine and policy my beloved#dragon age#dragon age: the veilguard#dragon age: the veilguard spoilers#dragon age spoilers#poor harding really is living through the most relentless 'if this is the maker testing my faith he sure be testing me' gauntlet of all tim#good news: god might be real! bad news: god might not even be a real thing but more like a magical accident or vibration or something#honestly tho. if we could get full lovecraftian incomprehensible to human conception the maker -- He is a particle and a wave style --#that's the only way I'd be cool with him or them actually answering the question of his existence. that'd be kind of sick#'yes. but no. but maybe. depends on how you define god. and exist. and he. and does.' *ingellvar sets of the METAPHYSICS!! klaxon#that's a time out folks good game but easy on the jargon and navel-gazing definition of terms next round#rye and lucanis have some slightly differing views about at what exact stage of a problem murder becomes a valid solution#('well you just kill them and then I'm the one who has to deal with the next much longer part')#but they're surprisingly kind of vibing on a lot of other stuff lol. good for them <3#oc: Ellaryen Ingellvar

funniest answer for "what happened during Jason's fight with Krios" is, rather than Jason having a physical one-on-one unarmed fight with Krios, Jason just tears Krios a new one re: legislation by chewing him out for unauthorized activity in a state park. Because one of Jupiter's big aspects is law!
Jason sends the entirety of the Titan Army forces in California marching out of Mt. Tam State Park with their tails between their legs with one strongly worded argument and some threats to inform San Francisco Fish & Wildlife. And he gets made praetor for it.
#pjo#riordanverse#jason grace#was joking about Jason both forgetting about but also being overly familiar with san fran's fish and wildlife legislation yesterday#what do you think are the chances that because of the Mist and him being raised by Lupa's pack that legally Jason's considered a wolf#a la Doofenshmirtz legally being an ocelot. cause the mortals are probably aware of Lupa's pack right?#they're a magic immortal wolf pack but they *are* just wolves. but Jason was a whole baby human.#the Mist would probably disguise him but not the pack as a whole. so it'd be funny if just as far as California is concerned#Jason is just a wolf pup from this random pack. and he pulls that out at random opportunities as a running joke#''Sorry. I'm protected under Wolf Conservation Law. Under the California and Federal Endangered Species Act it's illegal to harass me.''

saying israel has a “right to exist” is quite literally an inherently unambiguously zionist take lmao. like fully endorsing the core tenet of zionism. it’s crazy how many people are ostensibly well informed about the issue who think otherwise.
#no state has a Right To Exist and claiming so about israel echoes a divine mandate 🤪#before u come for me I said STATE.#‘well israel has a right to exist but Palestinians are human too and—‘ BLOOP already Zionist#like the fact that this phrase is seemingly enshrined in the conscience of people concerned with Human Rights…. zoinks#from the river to the sea

A female artist/celebrity: Hey, while I'm really happy for all the support you guys as my fans have shown me, can we please establish some boundaries? Some things are starting to make me uncomfortable. Again, I'm grateful but--
Said people the response was aimed towards: Oh so now she thinks she's too good for us? She's so ungrateful, letting all the fame get to her head. Doesn't she know that without us, she wouldn't be as famous? She should just suck it up!
#tell me im wrong bc you can't#this is how some are acting towards chappell roane right now and all she asked for was boundaries to be established#there's this common theme still where people will treat celebs as less than human just bc they're famous & that's so wrong#they share their talent with u as fans and can't even get any decency in response#it's also alarming how quick people are to victim blame these celebs especially female celebs/artist as if they asked to be harassed#there's always a threat of harm to women (especially if they are a woc or queer) already and getting upset with them for wanting to take#caution seems like a bad hill to die on#its also annoying when sadly something does happens and the response following is “how could this happen? we need more boundaries!” and will#then turn right back to their old ways 🙄#lowkey reminds of how there was a wave of hate towards actors (eg. penn badgerly) for saying they didn't feel comfortable doing sex scenes#(which they are within their right to set up boundaries) and yet some fans made it seem like they were in the wrong for wanting autonomy#even tho countless other celebs before that talked about how uncomfortable and evasive the treatment on sets were for them#so their concerns aren't without merit#is it really that hard to establish parasocial relationships with famous people?#chappell roan#megan thee stallion#beyonce#taylor swift

#it just wasn't relevant to the story nightow wanted to tell#trigun#after my thesis defense I'm going to do a deepdive of the manga#like.... this is a story that is deeply concerned with what it means to be human physically and spiritually#what does it mean to be born human vs divine vs monster#at what point do we stop being humans when we augment our bodies#and throw away our morality#but#then there are people who have heads the size of beach balls and a guy who can? manipulate sound waves??#are they human?? what's their story? where do they fit into all this?#like I'm dead serious right now

eiffel's problem is that he sees every injustice as an interpersonal issue. he doesn't understand how his flippancy or apparent leniency towards hilbert might look to hera; in his mind, it doesn't contradict his support for her. to eiffel, it seems obvious - he is also one of hilbert's victims, hera is his friend, of course he's completely on her side - but he fails to fully grasp how the stakes are different for her.
ep 19: "you need to stop treating this like a joke, officer eiffel." / "hey, i'm the person for whom the joke tolls." / "i get you're scared he put something inside you. but i hope you haven't forgotten emergency code alpha victor. he put that in me." and ep 51: "they're just jokes! they don't really mean anything." / "see, eiffel, you get to have that. they can be 'just jokes' for you because you're... well, you. but we don't get that."
the issue in shut up and listen is eiffel's repeated, if unintentional, microaggressions, but it's also his general use of dark humor as a coping mechanism - jokes he feels justified in making because of how the subjects of those jokes have impacted him. eiffel sincerely believes in treating people equally, but his idea of 'equal treatment' can be idealistic and naive. he has an awareness of interpersonal harm, but he's lived most of his life without ever being confronted with the reality of structural harm - being pre-judged and othered and having his life devalued on the basis of outside categorization.
but the thing about that is that it has happened to him, too. eiffel is an addict, and a convict, and marked as from a lower socioeconomic class than minkowski or lovelace, and those things are the reasons goddard futuristics was able to buy him as prison labor and - without his consent - consider him expendable for medical experimentation. none of that is a coincidence, but he doesn't see the systems at work, only his own actions and regrets. which he then equivocates to the worst actions of people who don't share his sense of morality or guilt.
eiffel's ability to recognize and bring out the humanity in the people around him is one of his best qualities, but... on the basis of his identity, he's been able to live a life where he conceptualizes himself as the default person, and that's been reinforced by the pop culture he loves so much. that's a massive blind spot. he assumes everyone navigates the world in a similar way, and so, on some level, he sees everyone around him as an extension of or a reflection of himself. if evil is always personal, then it can always be reasoned with.
#wolf 359#w359#doug eiffel#like. his answer for 'what is your worst quality?'#is a very tongue in cheek job interview answer: 'i empathize too much with others.' but from a certain angle...#i just think it's interesting. he has such believable faults and biases and assumptions about the world.#and the other thing is. eiffel's values are the show's values!! in some way he is also correct!!#but it's the line between diplomacy and centrism.#and the understanding that inaction is still an action that can hurt people. and that there's often not a right answer.#eiffel values the right things as far as the show is concerned#and as far as i'm concerned#but he lacks necessary perspective to really enact those values. decentering himself enough to really listen#while still keeping that personal focus.#i love that line where he says he's going to 'keep debugging his code' because it's so deferential like#'sorry for talking about you like this' and also 'i'm trying to see myself through your eyes.' means a lot to me.#and of course. the dear listeners literally reflecting eiffel while viewing him as the representative of humanity. there's something there#especially with the way eiffel externalizes both his good and bad qualities and projects them onto others#really good show. really good character writing. you know.

So my classmate yesterday told me he believed that 9/11 is actually an inside job by the US government as an excuse to invade the Middle East for oil. And today he said he “preferred Trump” to win this election “just because”. When I point out that Trump is a convicted felon he then claimed that it’s actually just a ploy by his opponents to discredit him, as “he would’ve been arrested if all that was true”
Thank god we’re not American, but also fuck me for not being able to affect the election in any way
#if you’re asking why I’m concerned about US politics#why shouldn’t I be worried about the biggest economic power in the world#undoing like 80% of all modern human and environmental rights#fuck project 2025#us politics#us elections#9/11#tw: 9/11
