Justin Horowitz at MMFA:
Project 2025 advisory board members have attacked or outright called for the end of no-fault divorce, the option to dissolve a marriage without having to prove wrongdoing by a partner. Research highlighted by CNN found “no-fault divorce correlates with a reduction in female suicides and a reduction in intimate partner violence,” including “an 8 to 16% decrease in female suicides after states enacted no-fault divorce laws.” Project 2025 is backed by a nearly-900 page policy book called Mandate for Leadership, which extensively outlines potential approaches to governance for the next Republican administration, including replacing federal employees with extremists and Trump loyalists and attacking LGBTQ rights, abortion, and contraception. The Heritage Foundation’s proposals have a track record of success — the first Trump administration implemented 64% of Mandate’s policy recommendations. Project 2025 is also supported by a coalition of over 100 conservative organizations, many of which have spent years promoting critiques of no-fault divorce as “destructive” for society — or even blaming it for enabling a “culture of death.” According to a Media Matters review, at least 22 Project 2025 advisory board members have made similar comments targeting, restricting, or eliminating no-fault divorce. Additionally, MAGA and far-right media figures have pushed for the removal of no-fault divorce laws across the country, and several local Republican parties in Texas, Nebraska, and Louisiana have called for the dissolution of no-fault divorce in some capacity.
Project 2025 partner organizations, including the American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, Family Research Council, and The Heritage Foundation, have called for significant restrictions or an outright ban on no-fault divorce.

The thing that gets me about the Vulture article is that Scarlett had already come forward, she did summer 2024 and I can't help but wonder if ppl not believing her is why now we have the more explicit story. I am seeing a lot of ppl warning one another about how potentially triggering it is (and for good reason no person should be subjected to that), but the idea of Scarlet having to make herself vulnerable like that just to be believed makes me sick
#this must have been so traumaticizing for her to have so many ppl come forward more concerned about a tv show than#your rights as a human being#neil gaiman

intrigued by the idea that jayce dooms viktor to become the herald because he loves viktor too much to let him die. but mage!viktor could also choose not to save jayce from the storm in order to save himself from that fate, and yet he too loves too much to let go of jayce. endless cycle only broken by their choice to go together.
#lots of ppl recognize jayce's choice to fuse viktor to the hexcore for what it is (selfishness! loving flawed codependent selfishness! <3)#but few seem to really consider that viktor ALSO displayed that level of unfettered need to have jayce be around#future viktor sure but viktor nonetheless#i know its a time paradox yadda yadda but we're talking generally here in the wider scope of the narrative#its very poetic and bittersweet and beautiful and insane that they literally damn each other as opposed to live without each other#and yes i do think mage!viktors main motivator for saving jayce from the storm is because he wants jayce to save HIM. its abt the circle#idk if mage!viktor is all that concerned about the world really - on a superficial level yes obviously he comes to realize he's wrong#for 'liberating humanity from emotions' but theres more to it because jayce is so integral to his very being by that point#they have like infected each other with.... each other. they are inescapably haunted by each other#like mage!viktor had the same hellish experience that jayce did being touched by the arcane i think#lots of time to introspect and realize that actually the only person you need or really care about has been right there all along#as has been noted by others it was never about hextech it was actually just about Them changing the world#specifically Together#jayvik#arcane#.txt#still insane abt them yes thanks for asking

Can someone make angst art of Gem and Joel at the Spanner meeting room (from Grian's POV) that is like a gif that glitches back to Mumbo and Skizz and has like the text of whatever Grian was saying about how it's like they've "been there the whole season" or "it's not weird at all". And also when it glitches to Mumbo and Skizz there's like dark sky purple watchery motifs and eyes around them
#I can picture it so perfectly in my head#Also you can't see Grian in the pic bc it's from his pov#Gem and Joel (and Mumbo and Skizz) would maybe all look at Grian concerned#I just like the idea of Grian becoming so watcher-esque and losing so much of his humanity that#be convinces himself it really is just the same as it's always been#2 other humans right? Doesn't really matter who right? Just 2 other humans? They're starting to blend together anyways aren't they .#wild life smp#trafficblr#grian#watcher grian

the sheer number of funerals, memorials and general scenes to do with mourning rook comes along to does start to take on a faintly darkly comedic edge the second time around. the universe is trying to tell them something and oh my maker they've got air pods in they can't hear us
#dragon age#dragon age: the veilguard#dragon age: the veilguard spoilers#dragon age spoilers#rook#oc: Ellaryen Ingellvar#rook's grief-swamped brain and solas working overtime together to maintain the 'I am looking away. I Do Not See It' status quo here#while everyone looks at them like *concern* in the background.#blood magic-enhanced dissociation dodging matrix style through the narrative screaming the truth at them like 'bit heavy-handed honestly#thankfully this ominous note can't stop me 'cause I can't read. varric is just fine. for the uncanny five minute shallow pep talks#that's our main form of communication these days. perfectly normal and human mode of interaction I see no problem'#the companions gazing at rook like 'I can't tell if they're dealing with this whole thing uncannily well#or very very badly and I'm scared to be the first person to poke at it in case it all comes crashing down to tell us it's the latter'#(extra funny/sad as ingellvar where you're dropping wise kind words about grieving and how there's no right way#for it to look or feel left and right. trained for that shit their whole life and failed the final test with flying colours#oh rook. there may be no right or wrong way when it comes to grief it'll do what it does no matter what in my experience.#but I do think this is probably still ah. sub-obtimal#the gravekeepers' child has no grave to go to etc.)

funniest answer for "what happened during Jason's fight with Krios" is, rather than Jason having a physical one-on-one unarmed fight with Krios, Jason just tears Krios a new one re: legislation by chewing him out for unauthorized activity in a state park. Because one of Jupiter's big aspects is law!
Jason sends the entirety of the Titan Army forces in California marching out of Mt. Tam State Park with their tails between their legs with one strongly worded argument and some threats to inform San Francisco Fish & Wildlife. And he gets made praetor for it.
#pjo#riordanverse#jason grace#was joking about Jason both forgetting about but also being overly familiar with san fran's fish and wildlife legislation yesterday#what do you think are the chances that because of the Mist and him being raised by Lupa's pack that legally Jason's considered a wolf#a la Doofenshmirtz legally being an ocelot. cause the mortals are probably aware of Lupa's pack right?#they're a magic immortal wolf pack but they *are* just wolves. but Jason was a whole baby human.#the Mist would probably disguise him but not the pack as a whole. so it'd be funny if just as far as California is concerned#Jason is just a wolf pup from this random pack. and he pulls that out at random opportunities as a running joke#''Sorry. I'm protected under Wolf Conservation Law. Under the California and Federal Endangered Species Act it's illegal to harass me.''

Lorenza: "Had I been at Laxan Loft that fateful day, then perhaps.. You whom the Ascians kept in the shadows might yet have had an ally for that last sacrifice. ..Ah, but who are we two of the void to dwell on a hundred years past?"
(comments/reblogs are appreciated but never required. further context is under the readmore!)
A little idea I had earlier and was successfully able to get a friend to queue into E10 with me to access the location for! This is actually technically my first thing made for my selfship with the Shadowkeeper (or to use her truer name Cylva), so it's perhaps a bit too context-heavy of a piece to start things off with, but.. oh well! I hope that it's still alright/people like it, even without everyone being aware of the full background ;w;
(If you are curious what's actually being depicted here: it's just a hypothetical musing about "if Lorenza had been present at the Battle of Laxan Loft a hundred years ago, where Cylva turned into the Shadowkeeper and forced Ardbert and the Warriors of Light to fight her (but they refused to kill her like she asked), then maybe that whole event could have been a bit less emotionally harrowing for Cylva". There was no way Lorenza could have been there, of course - she didn't even know Cylva at that time, as the two only met at the start of Shadowbringers despite both originating from the Thirteenth - but.. it's still something she idly muses after learning about Cylva's past. For more background context, feel free to have a read of this other post!)
When it came to putting this together, I was limited by what remained of the duty timer (since we had to do the whole boss fight against the Shadowkeeper and then I had to wait for everyone else to leave), as well as my own inexperience with manipulating reshade parameters like colour curves and brightness (so I apologise if this is a bit all-the-same-value - I tried to mess with the background vs. foreground a bit, but that was about all I could muster). To put things into perspective, this is how the arena looked before I went in and started the posing process - so as you can see, a lot of processing needed to be done to get the final vibes!
I'm also still not really adept at posing within FFXIV, which is why Lorenza is incorrectly using her right hand to reach out to Cylva; the day I learn how to flip/invert poses derived from paused animations will be a very advantageous one indeed! There's probably a better workflow than the one I currently use, but.. like when I was first starting out with MMD, it takes a while to get properly familiar with the tools involved and how to do what you're aiming for with them. I'd meant to get some alternate/closeup camera angles, but exited out of /gpose instead after taking the initial one, which meant I lost everything I'd loaded in .w.
In any case, though - I like how the final product turned out (even if the composition is almost identical to my January render..), and I hope that some of my thought process in making it could come through! I did finish making this at one minute to midnight on Valentine's Day, but I'm aware it isn't really a very Valentine's Day selfship thing.. so, I suppose it's more fitting that I wasn't able to get around to posting it until after the date had changed here! =P
Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this! I hope it all makes sense ^-^
#heart of the void#selfshipping#creations from the void#love: keeper of shadows (cylva)#(I know she looks very inhuman in this form but it's still her. she speaks normally and wields a sword like a human for some of the fight)#selfship: a path beyond ruin (cylva/lorenza)#self‑insert: void‑kissed princess (lorenza)#of shards and crystal (final fantasy)#this post is okay to reblog if anyone wants to#making gposes is very different to making MMD renders but there *are* some shared characteristics! which helps#if anything looks off about lorenza it's because as far as the game's concerned this is actually clio#I needed to run one of E9-12 for her wondrous tails anyway but I also don't have E10 unlocked on lorenza yet#but thankfully I can visually appear as one or the other while logged in as either if I do the right tricks

My fears regarding TikTok go beyond the blatant propaganda, narrative control, and censorship. I am concerned about the algorithm and the potential it has to be weaponized. It is so specific and accurate to find what niches, beliefs, and subcultures people are a part of that it could be used to identify people/groups the government want to target. The US didn’t want China to have the data because they wanted the data.
For instance, if they wanted to target crafty, left-handed, eldest siblings, who like [insert specific sports team here] all they would have to do is pull on the threads of the algorithm to have the accounts and information of people who were sorted into these specific boxes.
#that is why I’m only redownloading it to remove my data and delete the account#I fear they would use it to target the pro Palestine movements pro human rights movements#or to identify people of specific immigration statuses#and all this Trump ass-kissing has me concerned that they have already rolled over to placate him#and our data has already been compromised#because tiktok was a huge well of information and organization regarding narratives the government could not get ahead of#but with the algorithm and account info#they could target and punish dissidents#tiktok#tiktok ban#us politics

If you are scrupulous, the gulf between what you were taught about religion and what you think you were taught about religion could be huge. It is, of course, fully possible that you were given bad doctrine by clueless individuals, but if you still have access to the people who schooled you in your faith—family members, family friends, mentors with whom you remain in touch—it might be worth asking them what they meant by some of the things they said. The scrupulous mind tends to draw very extreme conclusions. You might be shocked by some of the clarification that you get.
#The reason I am still Catholic is that I happened to be very open with my mom about whatever fears I had around religion growing up#and she was able to say “that’s not what I meant at all” so even if I secretly feared she was wrong and I was right#I at least knew what she really believed and what she had been trying to tell me and I knew what was my own extrapolation#I have no idea where I would be if I hadn’t had anyone to run those concerns by#Scrupulosity creates a version of religion that no human being can possibly adhere to so when that’s what you think you were taught#how are you gonna maintain your faith? You’re not#religion#scrupulosity

in the hypothetical alternate universe where the human centipede is one of those horror films that has an insanely large fandom for what it, do you think people would be making domestic or recovery aus for the characters. like i just want to know
#twinkie talks#i'd say the amount of times i've talked about the human centipede is a concerning amount. & yet i haven't done so enough times#would people be making art for it in the same way people make saw fanart#would they be shipping the '' centipede '' & the scientist at all... would they babygirlify that scientist#recovery au for the final girl at the end of the first film but do it with a straight face i dare you#WAIT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER TWO FILMS TOO. HEY#// tbd god willing#i'm staring a week of midterms in the face right now you will forgive me

When 20 years ago atheists said that the decrease in religion (*cough* Christianity *cough*) would lead to a more enlightened society are suddenly concerned about the slow moving ball of Western Society collapsing, authoritarianism rising and political unrest on a level the world has not seen for a very long time.
sigh
#Islam will take the place that Christianity once had if Christians are not careful#the new atheist movement has collapsed because they realize their arguments have no grounding and are just emotional arguments#the reason we believe that human rights is important is because Christianity establishes that all humans are made in the image of God#and we have rights that cannot be taken away from us#what happens when people stop believing that and think their rights originate from the government?#authoritarianism. All those rallies over human rights find their roots in Christianity and only Christianity#Saying that humans can derive morality from themselves when there have been civilizations where murder and oppression#are normal everyday things#yes the bible did have rules concerning slavery but the rules are more along the lines of indentured servitude than the type of slavery#we had here in America#The west had collectively said slavery is bad#but slavery still happens and there are people still fighting it#why? why fight when your beliefs says morality is subjective ?#There must be an objective standard and must be unchanging#for any kind of good to happen#Christianity#religion#morality#politics#new atheism
