Peeta has said many charming things, but this line always has me giggling and kicking my feet. I don’t understand how Katniss was so strong.

I kinda hate how they changed this in the movie. Even in the paragraphs before this they had this flirty banter that was so so good. The movies erased or changed nearly all of their banter though.

One of the things Skeleton Crew nailed more than most other Star Wars projects is the efficiency of the character design on the kids.

Neel is obviously an alien. He's got blue skin. And a trunk. Those big black eyes. He wobbles. This infuses the show with a diversity we haven't had since Resistance, something unique to the toybox we're playing in.

Then there's KB. She's got a cool Space Visor...which is not Essential, a la Geordi in Star Trek, but does give her an immediately recognizable face in a way we haven't seen since Sabine in Rebels (which may also not count because she's just got a Mandalorian helmet, which was already associated with Boba Fett...in fact, I'd call this Completely New). She's also got the white hair that falls across her face, and while if you put a gun to my head and told me to draw her clothes, I'd die, that's not necessary for her design: she can swap clothes whenever and she'll be identifiable.

Fern looks pretty basic, but she's got a Cool Jacket. That ties her in with Kay, Han, and Cassian (I'm gonna be honest, I think they were trying for something similar with Poe's jacket and Finn in the sequels, but they never really pulled it off for myriad reasons). The dark color of the jacket contrasts well with her pale skin, dark hair, and bright shirt (orange below, white for the main story). The blue patch also makes it have Instantly Identifiable Potential.

And then there's...um...um...*sweats*...Protagonist Kid.

He's probably got the most easily-forgettable design, but that's okay, he's the protagonist, he's meant to have some Audience Imprinting. A little subtlety can go a long way there, it's been a staple of Star Wars. But his hair has a VERY distinctive silhouette, and that's enough. Worked for Luke Skywalker back in the day, after all...and Anakin later. From bowl cut to that stupid Padawan cut to the moppy mullet foreshadowing that of his son. Sometimes all you need is "It's the guy with the Long Hair" and you're golden. As long as he doesn't pull an Ezra and lop that off to ruin his look entirely (yeah, I'm still not over that, I get it, but I really think Ezra's design suffered in the later seasons), he's Good Forever.

Now that I’m revisiting the “truce” scene. Not only was agatha egging her on in the broadcast part but rio was actively saying things just because Agatha wanted to hear them. They both know agatha would never just FORGET how their work and play was. But Rio complied anyway, like she knew what would happen if she gave in, like she MIGHT BE rewarded. The intimacy and playfulness in Kathryn’s line delivery and the way aubrey moves her eyes and can’t fully stay still in that scene makes it so much more like. Charged with experience. Rio has to move her hands or something and since she wasnt grasping on the dagger hilt she was smoothing out her pants in anticipation, shaking, and eventually just reaching out to stroke agatha . End of the ep was the almost kiss but I seriously think the truce was the second coming of almost fuck but unfortunately agatha keeps letting her wait……..IN ANTICIPATION

I've been seeing some fanart and content of the Magician Jester and the Poet Jester in the GOB community, so I decided to make my own designs for them as well, along with adding some changes to Bittergiggle's design

I decided that the Magician and Poet would also be added to my Garten of Banban AU, which I hope to make a reference for soon when I get to know the characters and the game better. (It's an AU where the monsters actually get to teach and care for children, living their purposes and dream lives they wish they had in the original game)

In my AU, Magic and Poet would be two of Bittergiggle's cousins, who don't always stick around the Kindergarten, but they do visit for special events.

The Magician is pretty extroverted and confident and loves attention.

The Poet is introverted and reserved, but he enjoys sharing his poetry.

And they both enjoy annoying and insulting each other. But together they balance each other out.

They also have this rivalry where they try to one-up each other. The Magician revels in teasing the Poet, which gets on the Poet's nerves, but the Magician just finds it fun to mock Poet's poetry and call them boring to get under his cousin's skin. Be careful Magician, otherwise you might face some "poetic justice..."

Also I gave them names, but they aren't really official right now. As of now, their names are:

Poet: Rhymequill

Magician: Sparkledust/Sparkleblast

So uh- Yea, it's already established, but remember- They are cousins. They are family

so, after watching episodes one and two, it's coming off as they know what scenes are important, but they don't know why. the changes made to the story are therefore pretty flat. if you're a casual enjoyer and haven't read the books in a while and are just here to have fun, you'll probably like it. if you're like me and enjoy media analysis and have a strong grasp on the themes, messages, and subtleties of the book series, you probably won't.
