hello. absolutely hate involving myself in fandom drama, but ifeel this is an important post to make as i have seen a lot of people taking a certain post at face value and believing it.

im referring to this one, made by @/realultimatehater

now, before i say these things, i feel the need to preface this by saying that i do not personally wish to align myself in this fandom debate. i am a tax-paying adult and do not have any energy or time to put into arguing about a tv show on the internet. nonetheless, i have seen people blindly spreading this post around and i feel this needs to be addressed.

this person is lying.

it feels like it should be obvious with the levels of "down with cis bus" energy pulsating off of this, but it's a huge fucking lie.

this person is a known harasser and has targeted children in the past. they will do anything, and i mean ANYTHING to rack up attention and internet points. they have made bold claims like this with little to no evidence in the past all so they can garner more hatred for certain fandoms on the internet. testimonies here and here, and some pretty damning screenshots here.

i advise you all to stop reblogging the post ive shown. it's disinformation, a story fabricated to direct more vitriol towards a fandom with little to no proof that it can somehow make people like this or attract people like this. this person is either a troll or just plain deranged. please stop believing what they say.

More Ramblings on the Infinite Saving Bug

Alright folks, this is, hopefully, my last post regarding the 'saving bug' and I have some news. I've been dealing with this issue for the last three weeks with two weeks of it spent in testing hell. Let me say this: It doesn't get any simpler as I look into it more and more.

Still, I've concluded that the saving-bug is a form of save corruption. Once your save is affected, my condolences, it's practically game-over. The save still can be played safely, though, as long as you don't go into Buy/Build Mode - which is practically impossible. This is the really bad news, especially for builders like myself. But there is more to it! So go ahead, if you're curious. *Long Post Warning* Scroll to this part for a possible fix! -> 'here's my desperate move'

There are many threads on the internet (e.g. 1, 2, 3) regarding the issue but none of them gives a reason or a meaningful solution. What is this bug then? From the links I provided, my understanding is that it has started around Seasons release, most likely after an update and, not surprisingly never been solved. I really wanted to believe that it's CC related but even vanilla players claim to have it; so CC is not the reason. My tests also came up with the same result so that's a bummer.

It seems to be triggered by going into Buy/Build Mode on certain lots; but my experiences also showed that it can spread to other lots. That's why I think it's a save/world corruption. But it also appears on different saves in the same Sims 3 folder. I have found a way to uncorrupt the building to be used in other worlds but the empty lot even after the building is bulldozed remains corrupt.

Meaning, you cannot build anything on that lot without triggering the bug. The so-called saving bug also affects the process of saving the lots to your library. So once you start getting it you can't even send the building into your library. There is a way to do it using Nraas Debug Enabler but it only worked for me once.

To save you the trouble, I have a list of things I've tried and now know that don't work at all against the saving bug.

Resetting everything via Nraas MC.

Resetting lot via Nraas MC.

Bulldozing the building and resetting the lot; using hammer tool to delete every visible or invisible object on the lot.

Saving lot to the bin; adding it to another world or a clean save of the same world and editing it there.

Starting a clean save of the world and build something in a lot seems to be fine at first; but saving bug returns eventually as stated in the threads I linked.

Creating a new Sims 3 folder doesn't work, either, as long as you use the same save.

So, what does work? Well, this is where the mystery lies. My conclusion is that it's a save corruption affecting the Sims 3 folder, as a whole, which doesn't make sense; and can be spread by installing corrupt buildings. I'll summarise my testing process:

I had a separate Sims 3 folder that I use to test stuff. This folder had a slightly different mods setup and any save I have in this folder could be saved successfully no matter how long I have stayed in the Buy/Build.

Then I moved the fresh save that eventually got the saving bug (mentioned in the 5th point above), into this bug-free Sims 3 folder and guess what? I could save without a problem. That made me think this is actually a CC thing. So I carried the ingredients of my Mods folder one by one and continue testing and each time I could save, like, in 2 seconds.

The world is a small world with no population and no buildings other than my test building, an empty house and the corrupt bar that started this all. And each time it saved until I finished with the building and moved everything from my Mods folder. I was really tired and confused at that moment. If it's not CC or the save folder, then what is it?

Then I entered the corrupt bar and bam! The saving bug returns. What I did after that was a desperate move. As I stated earlier, once the saving bug begins you cannot even save the building to your library. But one can click on any venue/house map tag, Door, Window, Wall, Ground > Nraas > Debug Enabler > DEBUG: Move Lot To Game Bin. The building will disappear. Then you need to switch to Edit Town Mode wait for a minute or so. The lot will appear at upper left corner of the screen (as evicted families do) from there you can save it to your library.

Unfortunately, this method only worked once for me. If it doesn't work at first try, quit the game, restart and do this first upon loading your world. This is how I moved my corrupt building to another save and initiate the saving bug there. But I also found a way to uncorrupt the said building.

And here's my desperate move: In game select the corrupt building in your library and choose pack as a Sims3pack or whatever the option is. You wouldn't miss it, it's there. I believe you can also do it with the building still in your world, so you may not even need it in your library. Game packs it successfully and tells you so, even if the lot/building is corrupt. Because this is EA and you should share your corruption.

Ahem. Quit your game. Go to your Exports folder. Move the file to some work folder, it doesn't matter where. You need to extract it. Since Sims3pack files are nothing but containers like zip files that can hold multiple package files, they are nothing special and should be avoided normally. To unpack/extract you need either s3ce or Delphy's Sims 3 Pack multi-extractor. Or any other tool that you know of except the Launcher.

After that you will open your newly extracted package file in s3pe and delete resources that normally belong to objets. Best way to be sure is to open another lot package in your library and examine the contents. But let me help you here: Delete EVERYTHING BUT 2ARY, COMP, ICON, LDES, RFES, TXTC, TXTF, UNKN. These are the lot resources. Be patient and carefully delete everything else.

Well, this was the good news! Now you can rescue your beloved building and use it in a new save. I don't know why it works, it just does. The really bad news is like I said, your world is most likely corrupt and not only the buildings in problem lots but the empty lots themselves are corrupt. You get the saving bug again when you place your cleaned-up building in the same lot in your affected save.

OK. I think I've managed to clean the empty lot itself as well. So, it's all good. I don't know if it's a fluke but I did this and my game saved without an issue after editing the problem building:

Bulldoze the building and reset the lot via MC. Go to Edit Town and change lot type to Residential>Regular (or vice versa if it's a Residential Lot). Return to Game reset lot via MC again. Save & Quit to Desktop. Not to Main Menu.

Go to The Sims 3/WorldCaches Folder and delete the cache files belonging to your world.

Start the game & load your save. Go to Edit Town and change lot type to Community>Whatever you like or whatever the lot type was before. Go back to game and reset lot via MC again. Save and Quit to Desktop.

Go to WorldCaches and delete your world's cache files again.

Start the game & load your save. Put the building that you've cleaned up as described above in this wall of text. Go into Build Mode, do something, stay there for a while. Go back to Live mode and try to save. If it works do this with every corrupt lot in combination with uncorrupting buildings method. And you're good.

Some steps may be unnecessary like constant resetting or deleting world caches but I exactly did this so take it as you like. If nothing works, your other options are:

Use Nraas Porter and move your town to a new save. Use the method above to make sure your buildings are safe from corruption. And use a newly created Sims 3 folder.

Bulldoze both the building and the empty lot. Do this to every problem lot. Then maybe you can save your game after wandering in Buy/Build Mode. But I wouldn't hold my breath for this one. Another issue with this method is that you will most likely not be able put another lot in place of the one you bulldozed. Because Sims 3.

Or make a copy of your save and enter Buy/Build Mode on every community lot one by one. Try to save once on each lot. If it saves, the lot is safe; if it doesn't lot is corrupt. Quit, load your game and do this for every lot one by one. Make a list of every corrupt building. Either bulldoze them all or never go into Build Mode on them. This way, in theory, you can play your save until another bug hits you in the face! 👍🏻 That's my plan. 👌🏼

I tried to be as clear as possible, keeping it simple, omitting some details but the issue is very complex and confusing. Also heartbreaking 💔 and rage inducing. 🤬 Well, this is it. Wish me luck and good luck to you all trying to play this cursed, borked bugfest of a game.

The Future of Jikook

After watching the video and GMA soundcheck performance on Friday and then seeing all the contradictory reactions on line to the song and its reception, I have been quietly mulling things over here in my little corner of the internet.

There are so many fan feelings conflating here. Those who want JK to turn into the BTS Harry Styles, those who are still smarting over the way changes to BB affected the trajectory of FACE, those who feel that the breakout of one member is a threat to ever seeing BTS as a band again. It makes for a tense, emotional and chaotic time on-line especially on Twitter where people tend to have a knee jerk reaction to anything that is said and nuance is completely lost.

Look into yourself and I am sure you will find a whole load of contradictory emotions lapping at your consciousness right now. What I have found myself thinking however, is how does all this noise affect the members and in particular Jimin and Jungkook?

Making Choices

One question that came to mind was why did Jungkook pick this song for his solo debut. What is it that he likes about it and how does that differ from the way SB sees or is marketing the song. During Festa 2023 I commented on the transformation that JK has been through since last year. He has made a conscious effort to shake off the maknae part of the golden maknae starting with his deal with Calvin Klein and all the swooning I am seeing on Tumblr shows that he has succeeded. As Yoongi said, JK is all grown up.

Then I was thinking about JK's musical choices, who and what he listens to and I remembered earlier this year he sang the Sam Smith and Kim Petras hit Unholy on one of his lives. If you also recall he later scolded Jimin for being prudish about the song on his own live.

JK was obviously ready to move into more explicit territory even then. So what about Seven made him think this is the song that launches me as the new and more mature JK.

I think for one thing, the lyrics are sensual and not gender specific. I am in the "loving you right" lyric camp because it gives a more mutual gratification feel to the song in keeping with the other lyrics as opposed to the macho stud, I'm a sex machine, version.

Jungkook wants to ease his lover's mind, he want to trace their lines, he loves how they wrap around him when they make love, he is devoted, his love runs deep and when they are together he wants to make sure his lover is satisfied and feeling that afterglow.

So yes JK is going to be talking about sex from now on along with almost everyone else in the Western music industry. Along with Jimin for example. As a side note, I still don't quite understand my overwhelmingly visceral reaction to the Like Crazy MV. It's f**king art and so is he.

Now SB and his cronies know the audience they are playing to and we will get symbolically het videos both for this and what is rumoured to be his completely English speaking solo album but even this video, which to be honest I have dumped in favour of the live performance and the choreo video, went for humour rather than full out fangirl wish fulfillment. I mean that may also come but I get the feeling that somewhere down the line they are going to need to pivot hard.

What do jikook want?

Secondly, I was thinking what do jikook want both severally and individually. All the members have an enviable work ethic and a deep love of music but the emphasis that these two and JHope put on performance is legendary. Look at Jimin here monitoring between shoots for his music shows in the behind the scenes video this week. He is serious about giving his best even when he himself is not in the best physical condition.

They are both ambitious and are looking for longevity in the industry and importantly, and prefacing this with an, in my opinion, this is something they want to do together. Neither wants the other to get left behind and I think that is what they are fighting for right now.

Whatever you think about their bond, it cannot be dismissed and the sequence of events of the last few weeks for me just reinforces that. Everyone noticed the way their relationship was highlighted in the Beyond the Story book (just started my copy yesterday but I couldn't resist the spoilers last week) to the extent that Variety went on a fishing expedition which JK expertly deflected.

Jimin is in New York right now and Jikook were seen dining together the night he arrived. We don't know what Jimin's schedule is but we can assume that he will take advantage of the visit to also support Jungkook as he has done with the other members when his schedule allowed. Jungkook is important to Jimin and vice versa.

Has everyone already forgotten the amount of promo that JK has done for Jimin over the last few months. Here he is listening to JKIVE's Golden Hour who we later found out was collaborating with Jimin on Angel Parts I and II.

So this is the perspective that I am going to adopt from here on in when I react to content. I am going to ask myself does my reaction help or hinder jikook in being able to continue working together towards their aim of further success in the music industry. I will veto anything designed to drive a wedge between them, be that from the company or the fans and I will continue to work hard for them in the way that a fan can buying, streaming and supporting their music and their content. There is even word on the grapevine that there maybe some jikook collaboration and/or content on the way. I'll be watching out for that.

as someone wit cancer (posting this anonymously because some ppl on the internet hear this and go fucking crazy) I’ve always found John Constantine is actually a really interesting rep In theory. I do think Delano like most things fumbles the bag when it comes to that topic but… it’s Delano what do you expect. I really like timelines where John gets treatment before it’s terminal (though usually that very idea seems out of character) or something it’s such a comfort hc. sorry for rambling. I was wondering how YOU interpreted johns cancer storylines as the John Constantine guy.

i’ll put this under a read more because i realized how long this is, but i hope it helps answer your question!

but as the john constantine girlie, it’s always been such an incredibly interesting plotline to me. he does take drastic measures to cure himself in the main vertigo timeline, and his interactions with other cancer patients and then realizing that this thing is terminal… it was intriguing. because it’s john. how he handles things is so much different than how others will. you’re never going to get the logical answer- “maybe he’ll get treatment.” “maybe he’ll go find healing magics that could help him.” “maybe he’ll go spend more time with his loved ones.” this is how most people would think to act. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have cancer, but if it were me, i feel like i’d be angry to be living on a timer, so i’d probably check a few things off my bucket list out of spite. not john constantine, though. instead he threatens a war in hell over his soul so everyone has to cure him.

john smokes cigarettes. we all know this to be a fact. however, he ends up getting terminal lung cancer as a result. it shows a very possible risk that most people aren’t willing to acknowledge until it’s too late.

i haven’t spoken to my mother in forever because our relationship was never good ( can’t you see why i like john constantine now? ), but in a way, it reminded me of her. she was a heavy smoker, and i, as a child who sometimes went over to her house begrudgingly, would be caught up in second hand smoke. as a result, these sorts of things were big worries of mine, and yet every time i told her she can’t do things like smoke inside the house and such, she’d just do it anyway. which put everyone at risk.

while, of course, cancer isn’t always caused by smoking, it can be, and she never took it seriously, not even when she was coughing badly and it was clearly dangerous for her health anyway. I don’t think she ever will.

within john’s character, though, we know he clearly didn’t care much. of course, he didn’t want to die because he knew he was going straight to hell at the time. so he concocted his little plan and ended up curing himself of cancer and not dying as a result… and then continuing with the bad habit. he’s a comic book character, so i guess it’s different, but i think it kind of sent the wrong message.

after a tale of john being distressed about having cancer and having to say goodbye to the people he cared about, or john meeting others who had cancer and being affected by the loss of someone who had died as a result of it, i think some expected him to put down the cigarettes. but alas, john has never been the kind of person to make good decisions.

so when i see him doing the smart thing in some storylines or aus that people write and so forth, i’m always stunned. like good on him, of course, handling his shit before it gets worse, but john has always liked to be a pain in the ass and wait until the worst possible moment. like the exact day he’s supposed to die for example. though i do enjoy these more, because it sends the right message…. john isn’t the kind of character you look to to give you the right message in most aspects. his political beliefs are good, but everything else is a dumpster fire.

but in my opinion, john constantine is a character- one of a rare few- who has cancer. there’s a described time of his struggles with it, some depression from it, the loss of someone he’d met who had it, and that was a journey. but then, in true john constantine fashion, the cornered rat idea he has, he cures himself of it- or, well, more forces some other beings to cure him of it, but hey.

The most he's done is put leg and armpit hair on Philas to show that hes a man on T, I assume. I'd include the happy trail but I think that's his fetish, because all of his other ocs have one. He doesn't even attempt to depict his trans ocs on hormones correctly. T changes your body fat distribution, gives you facial hair, chest hair, back hair, thicker body hair in general, and even hairloss on your head (this depends)...but we all know Salem doesn't research anything and will never experience the affects of T because it actually requires talking to your doctor, and we all know he only has his Token Testosterone-Taking OC to be like, "Look!!!! I DO have a character that takes T! They're not all gnc/fem!", but he looks exactly the same and acts exactly the same as every other oc he has. It's so boring.

He wears a suit but it doesn't even matter that he's "more masculine" because his tits are always exposed, or drawn in a t-shirt and panties, or topless. It doesn't matter. They're always in the same clothing. They all have the same personalities. The same tropes, just with a different label over them. How does it not get boring to him.

i just do not understand. if he claims, the effects of T will make him dysphoric. why does he insist on making characters that are on T, that will not give him nearly the effects, he wants. news flash, salem. even micro dosing t, will give you features like facial hair. something, you seem terrified of, because you have no intent on being a man, and actively talk shit, about trans men. you want to be what the internet has convinced you, is a "boy".

i feel, if he found ways to be gnc. such as, with femboys, or those that found a way to be both a guy and feminine, he would be much happier, rather than trying to say he wants to take T, when he has expressed disgust at having stubble, no breasts, masculine fat distribution, ect.

Zane is sort of passive, not revealing much until the very end.

You can't tell Zane is enamoured with you until way later.

Which results in a ton of research inside his head.

Zane has so many recordings of you and thinks it's normal to store them in his head. Pictures, too.

Sometimes he doesn't like just using Falcon and watches you himself.

When talking to you he snapshots every smile you give him to look back on later.

Zane also tries to impress you or make you laugh with info he found on the internet.

The nindroid's main goal is to understand his darling and will learn info to accomplish that one way or another.

Zane likes to analyze things from your room to see if he can give you a gift similar to it later.

He's determined to be the perfect boyfriend for you.

After all, who else could?

He remembers/learns much more than anyone else could.

Zane probably doesn't show jealousy.

It's unknown if he can feel it but he does feel uneasy with people around you.

Zane's also gullible, the moment he's fed bad/fake information, he'll believe it.

Zane's turn for the worst is probably due to him following a trail of bad information on the internet which feeds into his strange thoughts on love.

He feels what he's doing is how people love!

Trying to shut his advances down makes the nindroid confused.

Far as he knows what he's doing should make you fall for him.

Zane is usually very patient for his darling's consent.

He only uses violence to defend you and his love for you, avoiding lethal force when possible.

He also feels kidnapping you would prevent you from being happy.

Despite the horrendous things he does to keep you as his, he's polite the whole time.

He feels this is the right way to get you to love him.

If you fought back, he learns counters and tries to subdue you gently.

He's stiff on affection but he learns like with everything else.

Hugs, kisses, cuddling... it's all clunky but he's learning.

He means what he does with good intentions.

But that does not make it right.

Zane is eerily kind and polite with his darling, even if his actions say otherwise.

He'll say he loves you... but freezes your legs in ice.

He says others will hurt you... yet locks you in captivity.

Zane's yandere behavior seems like a contradiction.

Zane is adamant on telling you while he holds you that he does all this because he loves you!

Even if his understanding of love is a dark and twisted imitation of a true relationship.

The boys™ just came back from a particularly tough battle. Blood moon does that to you.

Sky was worried sick for you during the whole battle, that was why he had his shield knocked off for a few, enough time for him to get hit by one of the lizalfos. He got his arm sliced in the process, his white undershirt ripped, blood dripped from the wound onto his arm guard, the one the lizalfo "missed" when attacking him.

He was mainly worried because he couldn't exactly remember where monsters were found the last time the group passed by that place, for all he knew, while he was fighting monsters here you could have also been in danger back where they left you and Warriors. And he sure as hell didn't trust Warriors to keep you safe from more than one lizalfo.

When they finished slaying the monsters all over again and came back to where you guys were everything seemed fine, that still didn't calm Sky's mind, his eyes searched frantically for you, yelling your name as he got closer to where you were supposed to be.

You didn't expect to be that worried about Sky when you saw his wound.

He hugged you, only to be pushed back, feeling you grab his arm gently and inspect it, one look at your expression told him everything. Despite the fact you were trying your best to not show how worried you actually were about him, it showed, it showed on your furrowed eyebrows, on your slightly watery eyes and on your tensed posture. His own expression softened at your worried one, he wasn't expecting you to care about him that much.

Honestly, not even you were expecting to react that way, not to Sky that is. Not ever since you started noticing some toxic behaviors from him of all people. You weren't stupid, even if he was good at hiding it, you could still notice manipulative tendencies, it was easy to remember the amount of videos you saw about it on your tiktok for you page before you got in this world.

Still, it was hard to dislike Sky, maybe it was the Stockholm Syndrome kicking in or something, but it was hard to just ignore a Link like Sky when he was the most adorable one out of all of them. 

No matter how much you tried to make him stop and leave you alone, his sweet actions worked no matter how much you denied them. Making your way back to where Hyrule had left you with his potions and pulling Sky's good arm along, you grumpily realized he had already used one or two that were there on the other's more serious wounds. Potions weren't meant to be wasted on simple wounds, even more when there were already less than 10 left on his pouch.

You pulled Sky to your side, releasing his arm and silently pointing to a reasonable sized rock he could lay his back against. He obliged immediately, staring at you with that same loving gaze you repeatedly told yourself you hated, you kept your eyes on what you were doing, not even glancing at him as you gathered gauze rolls and cotton, a small bottle of rubbing alcohol as well, you were pretty sure you overheard the others mentioning something about the monsters they fought being infected. You didn't want Sky to get his wound infected, no matter how much you told yourself you were only doing so for the sake of Hyrule.

As you gathered everything, you turned back to Sky and tried to do your thing, disinfecting the wound proved to be a hard task, not because Sky was moving around or anything like that, but you could see his face contorting in pain, small hisses passing through his clenched teeth, he was trying his hardest to not cry, clearly. No matter how strong you are or how many monsters you fought, rubbing alcohol on an open wound hurts like a bitch. Everyone knew that.

You knew that too, so as you finished wrapping his upper arm in gauze, you moved back and hesitated a bit. Noticing you weren't touching him anymore, Sky opened his eyes, ready to ask you if you were done and to thank you, only to blush darkly as he felt light kisses being pressed on his forehead. You wanted that to be it, in fact, you didn't even want to do that in the first place, knowing it would only reassure him in chasing you around more, but you figured he deserved it. After that you just wanted to forget this ever happened and go on your way.

Sadly, you were too sensitive at the moment and Sky was too hug shaped.

So when the dark blonde opened his arms to bring you into a hug again, this time a thankful one, you didn't go against your reflex of hugging him back. Only squeezing him, trying to reassure yourself he was there. You allowed your bad feelings towards him to be silenced for a moment, needing it maybe even more than him. How long has it been since you last hugged someone?

As your emotional side took the control over your body away from your rational side, Sky smiled in relief. It had been a while since he received any affection from you, he missed this, he missed the hugs. He only got those from you, considering the others of the group weren't interested in hugging, he was just as touch starved as you were. Being the only two in the group to be mutually prone to hugging and showing affection in general, even if it had been a while since you last did.

Now to your kisses? Those were new, and a whole other level of joy and comfort to him. Those showed you cared about him, as much as he cared about you.

That's why he kept trying despite you not acknowledging his constant efforts. He loved you and he knew you would eventually give in, you would love him back.

Now he felt like he was even more in love with you, if that was possible in the first place. If you had even a sliver of chance to get away before now you just didn't, not anymore.

Now, even if you managed to get back to your world, he would go after you. He would chase you to the ends of the multiverse if necessary, he already left his safe zone once for someone, and he would easily do it over and over again for you.

Sky loves you, and his love is easily bigger than anyone's else. Just give in to him already, will you? You won't be disappointed.

Ari escaped home to look for her father. Once she got herself in this vampiric situation, she hid her sister's existence for everyone especially the Tsukinami. This in order to protect her, as she believes that if they knew about her, they might go after her for their plan. As both are half founder/half human.

Although Ari is a half founder, her blood isn't as strong as Yui's. The difference lies that Ari's blood is strongly mixed with her human blood and Yui has Cordelia's heart which makes her blood of higher quality. However, both "can't" wake up as vampires for the same reason that the founder blood "suppress" the vampire virus. But! Ari can awake here founder nature under very specific situations and depending the AU.

Ariadna: I try to act normal. Having the kind of life I have is not easy, so I try to act as normal as I can around others.

Ariadna: The only people I can talk freely is Yui and Naomi, but I don't see them as often. I can speak about anything and is a little easier for me to go out with them. I don't have to act "normal", since they know about my situation. So I can feel more free and at ease with them.

Ariadna: I always treat everyone with respect and I try to be very polite, regardless their age. Although here in Japan, I'm more careful since there are more rules towards older people or in general to treat others… so hard.

Ariadna: I do. Whenever I get the chance, I take it! It can be on a date with Kino or simple outing!

Ariadna: I hate onions. The taste and consistency is nauseous and gross for me! If I happen to strumble with dishes with it I need to remove them or if I can, I avoid them to begin with. And if I happen to eat some by accident… it can make me want to vomit. I have some others, but onions are my most hated food.

On the contrary, I really love cookies, chips and popcorn! gosh they are so addictive and yummy! I have to be careful not to eat a lot jejej

Ariadna: That's not true and you both know it! Look, the thing is that sometimes they use certain ingredients that I simply can't make myself to eat! And I try REALLY hard not to put them aside that obviously, but they always notice. And I think I speak to the great majority that we have our "oddities".

You can't eat something with onions or similars

You can't stand having wet/soupy foods mixed together with dry foods

You said your father said: "it exists the main dish and the dessert, they are not the same and are not meant to be together", that said: you don't like dishes that are bittersweet aka sweet and salty at the same time,

You can't eat fish in it's complete state, meaning served as a whole: head, fins or scales.

No raw meat, specially if it has blood. Something as "Medium Rare" is out of the question.

You only eat egg in the morning and chicken from the supper on forward, not the other way around. You only eat one egg, mostly scrambled and if you happen to want sunny side you always ask for it to be over well… again: cause' raw yolk grosses you out. You also hate egg sandwiches… why? Idk.

You don't like spicy food. On the other hand you love sour food, specially vinegar flavour.

You prefer mustard over ketchup to go with your food: sandwiches, french fries, nuggets… you name it.

You hate smoothies or frappes, so you most likely ask for cold drinks with little ice. Why? Because you get goosebumps with ice and your brain freezes easily. YET! You can't drink very hot drinks, if you ask for one… You most likely leave it there to cool down.

Regarding the previous point… If you get ice-cream, you'll ask it with no toppings and in a cup. And to eat it, you'll leave it to melt to later one drink it. Oh! And you prefer ice-popsicles, but the way you eat them is by licking them until they melt. You can't stand biting ice and if someone does the mere sound or sight gives you, again, goosebumps.

When my parents found out I was gay (bisexual but whatever) when I was like, 12, by finding out that I've looked up certain things when I was young, they responded in anger and confusion and hurt. And when I came out officially almost a decade later, they knew, and they told me why they reacted the way they did.

We were Catholic and went to church every Sunday. My mother prayed for me for years unbeknownst to me. My father never brought up relationships with me. I had no more Internet access (as far as they knew). And then a tone shift when I was older, they, knew. They knew there wasn't some cure for me. They knew there wasn't anything worth fixing. I was smart and had a college degree now. I had friends. I volunteered, knew right from wrong, fought for people. And the friends I made, gay and straight, were good. Normal, good.

My mother told me, in a just world, where both my father and her made me, and made me to be as good as I could be- to know love, and show love- there was no way a just and omniscient God would let me be born, knowing full well what I would do in my life start to end (whereas I did not), and then punish *me* for these actions that would happen, that were *made for me to do*, as if he doesn't have perfect knowledge of past and future. It would be in the mind of an evil entity to have such disregard for the goodness in the world- to instead care about things like whom one is intimate with- when these are matters of the flesh, of being mortal, and have no reflections in heaven. After all, will I procreate in heaven? Will sex occur in heaven to conceive? Will we have organs, tissues, physical urges? What exactly is impure about same sex relations, if it doesn't translate any malice or alleged perversion upon ascension?

She thought it was untrue. And my father told me, that he was upset, because he knew my life would be much harder, and he didn't know what to do. He saw me being harassed, brutalized, and killed, and the thought filled him with anxiety.

When someone says, with willful ignorance, they are anti-lgbt....what does that mean? It's not canceling a trend or a fad. Its not canceling a product. It's someone's son, daughter, child, who's parents may have come to love for who they are. If you told me to stop being gay, and in the same breath told me God loved me, then, I'm sorry, but I don't need your gods love. Your god has already told you he won't save me unless I give up a feeling so innate to me, a feeling, a longing, to bring joy and affection and nurturing to the people I've chosen to care about, in exchange for heaven. But if my loved ones aren't going to heaven, then what kind of solace can your heaven provide me?

And if lovers can find themselves in hell, and love is the thing that vexes the devil, then how can hell be a place of punishment? God places the wrong people in the wrong places to make the wrong choices, knowing full well they will regardless of the illusion of agency, so he already knows he is predestined to torturous oblivion. If I find the devil when I die, I'll ask *him* for mercy. And I'll dredge up whatever empathy I have left for him, for his being rejected by his own father, because of his father's pride. Ill ask for mercy for those who suffer, because in no afterlife, where *forever* exists and mortal life is inconceivably short and irrelevant, where nothing of flesh should parallel anything of the spirit, should be filled with infinite suffering. No heaven can exist while people suffer unjustly for no crime other than those enforced by a tyrant.

If you dont like an art piece, don't be an ass about it.

For context: I've been on Twitter (X or whatever) going through some tags i frequent to have a look at the amazing art the community graces the platform with. Found a drawing that had been posted a good while ago and only like 10-ish likes. I wrote a comment on how i thought it looked insanely good. I come back to my phone having a message from Twitter, that someone answered to my comment. "What do you mean that looks so ugly"

I hate these comments, i really do. They make me unreasonably angry, even if it hasn't been on my own art.

For the people who see art, don't like it, and their first thought is "I don't like this, i'll share with the world how ugly it is": Please don't. Im not telling anyone to shut up and Im most definitely do not forbid you to share your opinion. What I am asking is that you try not to be so crude in your commenting, if you feel the need to share your thoughts.

A simple "This is ugly" is neither helpful to the artist or you. Such unthoughtful, in the moment, comments shoot down so many starting artists, whose skills, realistically, aren't on par with maybe that one artist you know that has been drawing for decades. But you might also hurt yourself in the process. There are so many people on Twitter who might hound you for insulting an artist they enjoy and might even go far beyond than a simple "you're wrong" (There is a very high chance that replys won't be as nice as my example. It is Twitter after all.)

The point that Im trying to make is:

Be nice and take a minute to think how your actions affect others, even if it's on the internet.

If you really want to share your thoughts on an artpiece you don't really like, try finding something you do like about it. Perhaps you like the colours? Maybe the scene that the artist was going for is something fresh and new? Perhaps even just the idea of the piece in question is something you enjoyed and start your comment with what you did like. And maybe try to describe *why* you dont like certain parts of their art.

Constructive criticism is the most welcome form of criticism. (or so I say)

If you can explain (or even just try to) why you dont like a certain aspect and then give an example on how it could be fixed, your comments can be a lot more helpful! It shows that you took your time to really look at the art and makes your criticism a lot more likely to be acknowledged and applied to the next piece!

In general: Let's all be a little nicer on the internet, because even if everyone is basically anonymous, the aftereffects of our words can have tremendous effects on others, it does not matter if we see the aftermath or not, it still happens. Insults from faceless strangers you might never know, still sting.

I watched Belle the other night and I have such weird feelings about it.

There's a lot of interesting ideas to explore in the film, like creative expression and how you are perceived when you put it out there. What power dynamics do in online spaces (I thought the concept of the corrupt moderator lead was neat, but of course there needed to be a 'Gaston' character, and that was a clever way of putting one in the story), and how perceived power just through attention and popularity can affect a person, whether it's positive OR negative attention. And of course, the internet as escapism, of creating a persona to express what you cannot in your regular life, and how real and affecting your friendships with others can be, and how special those connections are.

I am all about those points, and I'm sure that tons of people can find something to relate to from their own lives and experiences online.

But

The way characters moved through the narrative to navigate to those points felt awkwardly alien and clunky. The execution of the plot was so fucking weird. I get what the film was trying to do and it could have pulled it off better. The first kinda hour and 15 minutes into the film, I had said put loud, "this isn't bad, per say, but it feels like the movie equivalent of eating plain, untoasted white bread right out of the bag." The plots between Suzu's real life and what was going on in U felt so disconnected from one another, and maybe that was intentional? But even when those plot points converge and things come to a head at the film's climax, I found myself so frustrated at the characters (why in a room full of her friends and FIVE GROWN ADULTS would they encourage Suzu to go ALONE??? What does Suzu showing up actually accomplish to help the situation? I get the whole thing of her overcoming her grief by coming to understand her mother and her choice to act, and the tension of that scene was very well done, but what are we expected to believe comes AFTER???)

And like. I'm not a dummy about picking up on the grief that Suzu and the Beast share with each other. It's very obvious with the broken portrait, the spilled roses, and the glimpse into Beast's real life. But I wish they would have spent more time explicitly extrapolating on that point and having them bond in some way more than "this person continued to try to reach out to me even when I pushed them away". I wish they had room for some realer feeling semblance of friendship to bloom between them that wasn't just the Ballroom scene being shoved in there just to go "hey look it's Beauty and the Beast!!!". I know allegorically that the dance was them opening up to one another, but it still felt like these characters had almost no real basis for a friendship that strong. Suzu is obsessed from the start with asking the Beast "who are you" instead of "why do you fight like that", and I think that's the more important question to know the answer to. And also the one more approachable!!! Like fuck. Imagine meeting a stranger online and you need to find out who they really are behind the screen before you know literally anything else about them. And she kinds flops between having a desire to find out and wanting to protect his privacy, and I guess this is a way of her wanting to connect to this person, but also empathizing and knowing how important HER privacy is to her. But it's just ??????

Anyway, uh.

It was a pretty film. Very cool to look at, with interesting ideas, but presented with a clunky way of trying to explore them. Overall execution left me feeling like I didn't need to watch this film a second time. But in U, Moderators will doxx you in open forum if you fuck up enough, and that's a hilarious concept to me.

How To Be Champion, by Sarah Millican

Well, I did it again, I have too many books and not enough year left, so time to post and extra entry!

I recently discovered Sarah Millican's stand ups and I love them! In one of them, she mentioned her book and I knew I had to read it.

It's fantastic! Other than Jenny Lawson, I don't think I've related so much to someone's writing.

How To Be Champion is part autobiography, part essay collection, and part advice column. In this book "Champion " is slang for good, okay, content, happy.

Ms. Millican is from the North in England and like every geographical region, has its own slang.

Me being raised in the PNW in the 90's the closest equivalent would probably be "How To Be Chill". But I like Champion better, doesn't have the demand of calmness.

Anyway, Ms. Millican goes through her childhood with supportive parents and people at school largely being twatwaffles and this was my experience too.

Something I absolutely loved and I think should be on posters in schools across the globe is when she said not to worry if you don't have a romantic relationship when you're in school, you're there to learn.

I had that viewpoint when I was in school, why do I need to worry about dating when I'm having enough trouble with algebra? I couldn't care less if I had a date on Friday, someone help me understand why someone put the alphabet into math!

She discovers in school that she can write well.

She details her life working hard at several jobs, and getting married young and then getting divorced, before getting into stand up.

Some of the chapters I liked best were ones where she went into how she found wonderful friends who supported her though developing her act as a comic, and the ones where she let's it rip on beauty standards, and life expectations of women.

Ms. Millican has commited the sin of being a woman above a size 2, who doesn't have aspirations of becoming a size 2 and (rightly) thinks that how she looks has nothing to do with her worth as a person or a comic. She has a career, a new loving husband, and pets but doesn't want kids. How dare she make a call like that regarding her own life?

Honestly, I find her inspiring. As a woman who is also bigger and is okay with it most days, it's nice to hear about this from someone who isn't just "love your body" but also "Why the fuck does it matter??"

She wrote about the time she was nominated for a BAFTA and found a dress, and prepared for a fun night out with her husband. This happened, but afterwards she was insulted on the internet and in the press proclaiming that the dress that she wore was awful and she was fat and ugly.

This is just so crappy. And unnecessary, why attack someone like that?

She wrote publicly about how this affected her and how she would just wear that dress again the next year. She happened to have been working the next year, but wore that dress to her show. Hell yeah!

By the way, I was curious about the dress, there's a pic in the book showing part of it, but I wanted to see it full length so: Google. My first thought was: "I want that dress!" It's so pretty!

And Ms. Millican looked damn good in it, but the important thing was that she said she felt good in it, and it's unfair that some people try to take that away from others.

When it comes to kids, it was also cool to read about someone who is open about not wanting kids, and also open about how annoying it is when everyone tells you that you will change your mind, as if other people know what you feel better than you do.

It isn't just the parts that I related to that made this book great, it's also fucking hilarious

From interactions with her family to vacations and outings with her husband to her recipe for cake, this book made me laugh out loud so many times. I adored it!

I think the web and social media have changed considerably since 2011. 

I think Eli Pariser's experience with an algorithm in Facebook and Google are a good example of how their feed is curated and is a great example of the negatives. 

His friends try to see what comes up in the Google search when they type “Egypt,” and they see that they get different results, 

Pariser calls this the “Filter Bubble,” and he says that it was first noticed by curators at Netflix. 

Though the Filter Bubble are typically meant to be used for good — to curate the internet to your liking — Pariser suggests that it could be bad. “Junk food” is what he calls it, since it skews the way you see things. The bubble shows users what you want to see, rather than what is truly relevant. 

Pariser then goes on to make a plea to web developers in his audience to relinquish some control in the filter bubble back to users, so that the information they see is more accurate and balanced rather than sanitized. The alternative, though fun for users, is one that is ultimately bad for users and democracy.

Spread Privacy’s article also does a good job of highlighting this problem, specifically focusing on Google’s filter bubble. 

They define it as “the manipulation of your search results based on your personal data.” Spread Privacy notices how this is especially a problem for people conducting research on political topics. Google curates a user’s results based on their preferences. This means that a user won;t be getting an unbiased screen of results during their search but a screen full of results the user wants to see and already tends to agree with instead. An echo chamber is created where a user is more likely to get confirmation bias rather than the truth. 

Spread Privacy further proves this by taking a look at a Wall Street Journal study that found how Google may have influenced the 2012 presidential election. 

“A Wall Street Journal examination found that the search engine often customizes the results of people who have recently searched for "Obama"—but not those who have recently searched for "Romney.”

Spread Privacy’s findings go on to include the following information:

Most participants saw results unique to them. These discrepancies could not be explained by changes in location, time, by being logged in to Google, or by Google testing algorithm changes to a small subset of users.

I think the web and social media have changed significantly since 2012 because this has now become the norm for many social media sites.

hi i have brain worms. i have a disease and it is most definitely fatal and i got it from this picture. 

i saw another picture, (some naruto family photo but i cannot for the life of me remember which family it was) the other day and i compared it to this picture immediately upon seeing it and i still had this picture open in a tab so when i looked at it i went sleuthing on the internet to see if i could find the picture i compared it to and no luck BUT i did find. 

literally. sasuke has never looked so happy and comfortable in an official picture with his OWN family. in my short research i found a gif of sasuke and sakura on a training field with sarada and sasuke is like holding sarada or something it’s kinda hard to tell. he’s looking at her with a happy expression and it’s precious. and then SAKURA LEANS IN TO HUG HER AND SASUKE BACKS AWAY!?!?!?!?!? 

like. if u really loved ur wife u were in a happy loving marriage with a love child and it’s just a super fucking loving functional family, you would not back away when your wife hugs your child. a real family man would see that as the optimal opportunity for a nice loving family hug and everyone would smile and be so happy and. that’s not what happened.

also i just want to say. if u put this into a real world perspective right. imagine with me if you will. two guys who are childhood best friends. they grew up and settled down with wives and had some kids right. imagine them doing this YOU CAN’T BECAUSE TWO STRAIGHT GUYS WITH WIVES AND KIDS WOULD NEVER DO THIS. they would never hold each other like this and dote over one of the guy’s kids it wouldn’t happen. and u can correct me if i’m wrong like maybe you know some guys like that maybe i’m just not at the age yet where i can speak from experience i don’t have any friends with wives and families u know what i mean? i could be wrong. but i can’t picture two straight guys in love with their wives doing this i just can’t. this is a perfect example of a loving family taking a family photo I HAVE EYES. if u showed this to someone who’s never even heard of a nuh-root-oh before they would be like ‘oh look at these two married men with their son diversity win love is love’ or some shit.
