PROPAGANDA

IS (KAMEN RIDER 01)

1.) You know it's bad when the main female character is both an android built to serve humans and a secretary for the CEO of the android company. That girl is going to spend her entire life justifying the actions of a 20-something year old male CEO as he makes questionable decisions. Like that one movie where the androids become sentient and go "hey, wait, we'd like to be paid a fair wage for our labour!" and she comes out to convince them that no. No they don't. You see, 20-something year old CEO says you should LIKE doing labour for free and whatever he says goes. So she's just going to. Help him convince her race to go back to doing unpaid labour. For bosses that have been shown throughout the show to be abusive. Sometimes even killing their androids. Because a guy wants her to do that. Anyway, SPOILERS; at the end of the show she sacrifices herself for the Good Of Everyone. What does the CEO do? He replaces her with a new one. Just. Makes another android exactly like her. It's meant to be this emotional scene where he tells her about the previous Is but. That's not her. He just. He replaced her. This woman literally just got replaced.

AMBER VOLAKIS (HOUSE MD)

1.) Holy shit thank you for reminding me about Amber. Her nickname that almost everyone calls her to her face every day is Cutthroat Bitch. When she & Wilson start dating there are so so so many jokes about her keeping his balls in her purse & having him whipped & etc etc just bc she’s assertive & confident. & then the whole two-part episode where they fridge her (which is. not quite house’s fault directly but he definitely contributed to it) they make it completely about house & wilson & maybe 2% about HER. I’m still mad forever

2.) After being fridged, she does show up in later seasons! As a hallucination. She shows back up to be the devil on House’s shoulder when he is hurtling towards a vicodin-induced breakdown. Literally only shows up to steer him into making bad decisions (including almost killing Chase (allergic to strawberries) by inviting him to a party where the stripper is wearing strawberry scented lotion that sends him into anaphylaxis)

3.) im so glad someone else submitted amber because she fits so well for this poll but i couldnt get my words out right but im going to try again anyway. i think an important aspect of how ambers character is treated and written for the audience has to do with if a man did what she did, hed be opportunistic and ambitious, if not a bit of an ass, but because shes doing it it makes her 'bitchy'. "cutthroat bitch" "coldhearted bitch" etc is practically her canon alias at this point by how much she is referred to that way rather than her name. she is probably the most humanized out of wilson's canon relationships and its mostly because theyre paralleling her to house. she deserved so much better she deserved the world and more

Currently reading: Just finished The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward (horror, and WOW it was a mind fuck). Fic-wise, just re-read In The Hand by aideomai, which is my favorite aideomai fic (the structure and pacing are top-notch imo). Been enjoying all the kinktuary stuff going around, too!

Last song: I’ve been in the mood for The 1975 lately - the song Fallingforyou in particular. Give it a listen if you’ve never heard it -- it’s great mood music for writing romance -- such a fantastic love song!

Last series: I feel like I never watch anything anymore, but I was bored Saturday and turned on The Woman in the House Across The Street From the Girl In The Window (it’s a spoof on the recent thriller trend of unreliable narrators witnessing something nefarious). It was pretty funny, although I have to admit I mostly watched it because I’m obsessed with Kristen Bell

Sweet/savory/spicy: All are good, but the sweet really calls to me. That’s why I refuse to keep baked goods in the house - I WILL eat them all

Currently working on: 1) a long 6th year / transitioning into wartime Drarry  2) a shorter one about Draco being unable to give up sex with strangers, despite loving Harry. They’re both intense and making me want to write something stupid and cracky

I had that moment. The "this is it".

My little boy was over last night. He taught me how to crochet! He was so patient with me, even though I had to restart multiple times.

I'm usually one to mess up once or twice and give up. My chains were too tight. I'm always too tense for this stuff. But each time he just kept re-showing me how to do it. Telling me I was doing great, and learning super quick. Making me feel like everything was fine. So I relaxed. I un-tensed for the first time in what feels like months. And I did it.

The entire time my favorite show played in the background. I didn't have to watch-ive seen the series through multiple times- and while I crocheted, he watched the show and go really into discussing it with me!

We went to bed next to each other, but not exactly cuddling. We are at this weird place where we've shared the bed a handful of times, but not exactly snuggled unless we woke up like that.

I woke up in the morning and went to use the bathroom. I came back and got in bed. He curled up into me, shifted and whimpered in this sleep a little until I had my arms full of him with a little content look on his face. Breathtaking.

FREDERICK, Md. — In 2019, an Army laboratory at Fort Detrick that studies deadly infectious material like Ebola and smallpox was shut down for a period of time after a CDC inspection, with many projects being temporarily halted.

The lab itself reported that the shutdown order was due to ongoing infrastructure issues with wastewater decontamination, and the CDC declined to provide the reason for the shutdown due to national security concerns.

ABC7 has received documents from the CDC outlining violations they discovered during a series of inspections that year, some of which were labeled "serious."

Earlier that year, the US Army Medical Research Institute [had announced][4] an experiment at the Fort Detrick laboratory that would involve infecting rhesus macaque monkeys with active Ebola virus to test a cure they were developing.

Several of the laboratory violations the CDC noted in 2019 concerned "non-human primates" infected with a "select agent", the identity of which is unknown — it was redacted in all received documents, because disclosing the identity and location of the agent would endanger public health or safety, the agency says. In addition to Ebola, the lab works with other deadly agents like anthrax and smallpox.

Select agents are defined by the CDC as “biological agents and toxins that have been determined to have the potential to pose a severe threat to public health and safety, to animal and plant health, or to animal or plant products.”

Here are some of the violations the CDC observed during inspections of Fort Detrick that year:

## OBSERVATION 1

Severity level: Serious

The CDC reported that an individual partially entered a room multiple times without the required respiratory protection while other people in that room were performing procedures with a non-human primate on a necropsy table.

“This deviation from entity procedures resulted in a respiratory occupational exposure to select agent aerosols,” the CDC wrote.

## OBSERVATION 2

Severity level: Serious

The CDC reported that the lab did not ensure that employee training was properly verified when it came to toxins and select agents.

“These failures were recognized through video review of laboratorians’ working in BSL3 and ABSL3 labs,” their report said. “[These] indicate the [lab]’s means used to verify personnel understood the training had not been effective, leading to increased risk of occupational exposures.”

The CDC went on to specify that a laboratorian who was not wearing appropriate respiratory protection was seen multiple times “partially entering” a room where non-human primates that were infected with [redacted] were “housed in open caging.” They also observed a laboratorian disposing of waste in a biohazardous waste bin without gloves on.

## OBSERVATION 3

Severity level: Moderate

In this violation observation, the CDC went into more detail on the incident of the worker not wearing gloves while disposing of biohazardous waste, writing that “biosafety and containment procedures must be sufficient to contain the select agent or toxin.”

The corrective action they recommended was to confirm that relevant personnel have been trained to wear gloves to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.

## OBSERVATION 4

Severity level: Serious

In this observation, the CDC notes that the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases had “systematically failed to ensure implementation of biosafety and containment procedures commensurate with the risks associated with working with select agents and toxins.”

The violation specifically observed involved “entity personnel [...] propping open” a door while removing “large amounts of biohazardous waste” from an adjacent room, “[increasing] the risk of contaminated air from [the room] escaping and being drawn into the [redacted]” where the people working “typically do not wear respiratory protection.” {mf}

## OBSERVATION 5

Severity level: Moderate

The CDC reported that the laboratory failed to safeguard against unauthorized access to select against. They wrote that personal protective equipment worn while decontaminating something contaminated by a select agent had been stored in open biohazard bags, in an area of the facility that the CDC has redacted for security reasons.

“By storing regulated waste in this area, the entity did not limit access to those with access approval,” they wrote.

## OBSERVATION 6

Severity level: Moderate

The CDC reports that someone at the lab did not maintain an accurate or current inventory for a toxin.

## OBSERVATION 7

Severity level: Low

The CDC reports that a building at the Fort Detrick laboratory didn’t have a “sealed surface to facilitate cleaning and decontamination.” This included cracks around a conduit box, cracks in the ceiling, and a crack in the seam above a biological safety cabinet.

The song "Remembering Sunday" is one of the favorites among your fans, where'd you get the inspiration for it? All bands have turmoil and problems but that's what makes them who they are down the road. I couldn't be happier with where we are and how we got here, so I wouldn't change a thing. What was the first song you ever wrote together? Wow, that's a good question. I believe "My Paradise" was the first song we ever wrote as a group. So Alex, some fans have noticed that sometimes you don't wear shoes when you preform, is there a reason for this? Honestly I'm just not in the mood sometimes. Its not harder or easier to play with or without shoes, I just don't feel like it sometimes. If I get to the stage and I'm wearing sandals I'll just play barefoot, but if I have shoes for whatever reason I'll play in shoes. What are the guys' favorite types/flavor of ice cream? Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough If there were a punk goes Disney what song would you cover? I Can Show You the World - Aladdin How many pairs of Nikes do you guys own? I don't know the exact number, but I have 2 closets at home and one is just Nikes. Lets just say I have more then I can count. If you guys could travel to any country in the world and play a show, where would you go and why? We've been to Australia and Hawaii (yeah I know its a state) and those were 2 of the most amazing places we could have ever dreamed of playing. We have also been to the UK but we haven't toured Mainland Europe yet so I'm going to say anything in Mainland Europe. We also really want to go to Japan, so add that to the list as well. Anyone in the band have any really bad habits? What are your worst habits? We all have little habits. My worst habit is I twirl my hair when I wake up. For some reason the guys hate it. When I wake up in the morning I'll lay in my bunk for a good 30 minutes a twirl my hair and it drives everyone crazy. Which one of you has the worst sleeping habits? Probably me. I'm usually up the latest and sleep in the latest. It's not so bad on tour, but when I get home and try to get on a normal schedule, I'm fucked! What are your favorite activities/hobbies when you're not on tour? I play a lot of Xbox...we all do. Whats your favorite childhood toy? My video games! haha Favorite classic Nick show? Who's Afraid of the Dark Alex and Jack, I heard you guys are fans of Will Ferrel's movie, Talledaga Nights, have you guys seen Anchorman? What did you think of it? Yes, all of his movies are funny. Do you remember where and what you were doing when you found/heard about 9/11/01? We were all in school, don't remember exactly which class, regardless it sucked. Are you guys sports fans? What teams do you support? Baltimore Ravens! How long does it typically take you to pack for tour? Not as long as it used to. We all have it figured out exactly what we need. Matt usually shows up at my house 5 minutes before we have to go, and I throw all of my stuff into a bag really quick. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I just bought a house in my home town of Towson and I'm pretty content with living there. I've got family and friends and really what more do you need. We travel and vacation enough that I don't need to live anywhere else, MD is where it's at Whats your most memorable high school experience? Jack and I used to get in trouble a lot in HS. Our Senior year was pretty cool. We started touring and were flying all over the country meeting with different labels. None of our teachers or friends really understood what was going on because we were so young and everything was happening so quick. It was pretty cool how the band really took shape while we were still finishing up HS. Favorite thing about Maryland besides your home? Friends and Family Favorite theme park? Knotts Scary Farm or Disney World! Matt and I run around and meet all the characters. Do you every get bummed when you see things on the internet about fans not completely supporting you? All the time. I can honestly say we are the same 4 guys doing the same thing we've been doing for the past 2 years. Obviously, we started a band so people could hear our music, so it's really hurtful that people would stop supporting us because of the number of people that listen to our band, or the outlets in which our music is played. If you don't like us because we want people to hear what we have spent our lives creating then why did you ever support this band in the first place? Jack- What did you think of The Glass Passenger? Jack's not here, but I can say he loves the new CD. We actually were able to catch their show the other day in San Diego. Would you ever grease yourself up and slide down the white house hallway in a baby suit and asking if you could give a blowjob to the president otherwise you would cry and threaten to blow up the white house or jump off a 40 story building in a superman outfit trying to fly but you fall and you don't die but your paralyzed for 5 years and after that your just like new. Underoath Announce New Tour

Underoath will be heading out on the road next year. Tickets go on sale on Friday. We’re working on new music (as always). Some songs are done. Some are close. Some have just gotten started… but we wanted to find a way to bring you inside that creative process. At every VIP meet & greet on the Blind Obedience tour, we’re going to be having a listening party of unreleased music we’re currently working on (in various stages of completion) as well as never before heard demos of songs you know well. You’ll get a taste of what’s to come as well as see how far songs you already love had to come to get to your ears.
