Blue spirit productions: The Borrowers (Info we have so far 2018-2024)

Many of you may remember this video from a couple years back...

This is a pitch from "Blue Spirit Productions" a french animation studio, you may know their works such as "The Blue Samurai" or "My Life As A Courgette."

The pitch is for a potential animated TV show for "The Borrowers", made for companies and audiences to watch and get an impression on what they're gonna make and if anyone would be interested.

This was shown at the Cartoon Fourm 2018 as a project pitch and uploaded by CartoonBrew online, which is where the video comes from.

We know very little about the pitch for this other than it was shown off a few times at international animation conventions. Due to that we have very little concept art other than a few online.

From what little info we had the plot was simple and already created the groundwork for things such as characters and story.

The official Blue Spirit productions website wrote:

"Whilst out on a foraging mission, Arrietty, a Borrower no taller than an apple, is spotted by Tom, a human! But what should have been a disaster turns out to be the start of a wonderful friendship"

Although there's still a few reviews where a other plot points get mentioned, such as Tom's grandma running a Hotel where the Borrowers currently reside, but this is likely many ideas from the concepts they had.

2019 - 2021

Little was heard about the project for years despite a positive response online from borrower fans, specifically on Tumblr.

(Fun fact I was originally the first person to post it on Tumblr lol)

The only thing new info we got was in a few new images, Tom's appearance had change except his outfit, while Arrietty remained the same.

Until about 2022 - 2024 where we've gotten more news.

The series was now in development, with a new director David Lopez.

Job listings were put up for new animators, the page about it on Blue Spirit's official website had updated and most importantly we got new images.

For a short while this was the only new official image online, with Tom and arrietty sporting new looks.

Although slowly, Arrietty specifically would be used in advertising for the company for things like new animation positions and for more international conventions.

Speaking of the conventions, a few of them had special talks at booths or even screenings of the show such as at Cartoon Fourm 2023, Annecy 2023 - 2024, Mipsjunior 2023 - 2024 ect ect.

Soon after this it was announced the team up of Blue Spirit Productions and Newen Connect, a french distribution company.

The series as of now is currently in production, on Newen connect's website we even have a new description:

"The Borrowers are tiny people who live, unbeknownst to us, inside the walls of our homes. Their number one rule in life is simple: a peaceful existence means never being seen by Humans. Arrietty, 11 years old and 2 inches high, lives with her parents in a small community of Borrowers inside the house of a Human named Marie. Fearless and very curious, one day, Arrietty meets Tom, Marie’s grandson, and against all odds, befriends him. But shhh, its’ a secret... From this day forward, Arrietty divides her time between her daily life as a Borrower and her dream of exploring the world of Humans which takes on a whole new dimension, with her new friend, Tom. Together, Arrietty and Tom will embark on a gigantic adventure!"

While it's been a long journey I genuinely cannot wait for this show, it's always exciting to see new animated projects especially a new Borrowers animated project as well. Despite The Borrowers having such an interesting idea it's only been animated once, which was about a decade ago with "The Secret World Of Arrietty" created by Studio Ghibli.

With the end of the year coming soon, let's hope to see this in 2025!

Upcoming Projects for 2025

Lola and I have something that we want to get going in 2025, but the reality is that I've struggled with writing this year and I've got a lot going on in the first part 2025 that will require my creativity so other than my project with Lola, I'm really not sure what I'll be writing. There are a couple of things I'd like to write, but we'll see.

As for the fics I've posted in 2024:

In 2023, I posted 15 fics which weren't just updates to my drabble collections. I'm pretty sure this was a reduction in what I'd posted in 2021/2022. This year, I've continued that downward trend and posted 7 fics, 4 ficlets (less than 1k words), and a smattering of drabbles (ie. strictly 100 words) here on tumblr, some of which have been cross-posted to ao3.

The thing about sex with Henry is, it’s never the same twice. Sometimes he moves easily, caught up in the rush, and other times he’s tense and taut and wants Alex to work him loose and take him apart. Sometimes nothing gets him off faster than being talked back to, but other times they both want him to use every inch of authority in his blood, not to let Alex get there until he’s told, until he begs. It’s unpredictable and it’s intoxicating and it’s fun, because Alex has never met a challenge he didn’t love, and he— well, Henry is a challenge, head to toe, beginning to end.

Or: series of snapshots of Alex and Henry’s versatile sex life throughout the years – because the more life changes, the more some things stay the same. A Firstprince birthday celebration collaboration.

It's a win-win situation, since everything is better for Alex when Henry is around. Henry is his person. Completely fucking platonically, of course.

2024 in Review

In 2024, I posted 17 fics, ranging from 334 to 27,731 words. Although I feel I joined too many bangs this year, only six fics were bang collabs. Addionally, there were eight art collabs as well. I haven't counted the art pieces, though. However, it probably felt that much because there are nine collabs I'm currently working on for 2025. Making a List, Checking it Twice (Rated: E | Word Count: 1,369)

Summary: Dean forgets a naughty list in the kitchen. There's only one person/angel who can have found it.

The year started smutty with my first fic for the 12 Days of Smutmas.

Heating Up a Snow Cave (Rated: E | Word Count: 2,907)

Summary: Caught in a blizzard, Cas and Dean have to find a way to warm each other up.

My second fic for the 12 Days of Smutmas.

You Ain't Him (Rated: T | Word Count: 840)

Summary: “Dean?” Dean winced. No. It couldn’t be. His entire body started to tingle as the gravel voice vibrated through him. A voice he thought he would never hear again. This wasn’t happening. He was gone. He was—

A little birthday fic for Dean Winchester.

Books, Pies, and Roommates (Rated: E | Word Count: 27,731)

Summary: Everything seemed easy when Castiel landed a job in Lawrence as a literature professor at KU. He even found a place to stay with his cousin in Topeka. But the daily commute quickly gets on his nerves and he begins looking for a room in town. When he finally lucks out on a house, it comes with a catch. His mysterious landlord/housemate works and lives in Topeka during the week, and will only be at home for the weekend while Castiel is back at his cousin’s to honor a promise he made. When Dean walks into his favorite pie shop, the new sales assistant takes his breath away. Steve is gorgeous, and part of the owner’s family. Dean doesn’t even mind that he picks up Gabriel’s stupid moniker for him. After all, Deano has one syllable more, and Dean will do anything to hear Steve’s voice just a little bit longer. Though, as breathtaking Steve might be, he isn't Angel. If only Dean's book-loving best friend weren't a mystery in himself — a guy who Dean has only met online, but who has slowly taken his heart away. And it seems that Dean isn't alone in his feelings. When the lines blur and fantasies merge three guys into one, disappointment and heartbreak seem to be inevitable.

Pinefest ( @deancaspinefest ) is always one of the highlights of the year and this year @kitshay claimed my fic and created some beautiful pieces. Besides, I had a great time writing this two-person love hexagon.

Maybe not yet, but eventually (Rated: T | Word Count: 1,032)

Summary: Screaming, Dean wakes from a nightmare, trapped inside his memories.

This is the first of several time stamps this year. This one was for my 2021 DCBB fic Maybe not a comedy (according to Jack), but he likes the happy ending that can be read as a standalone.

Setting Sail (Rated: T | Word Count: 334)

Summary: 1805: Nodding at Lieutenant Davies and Midshipman Alfie, and leaving command with Lieutenant Hester, Castiel walks towards his cabin when he sees him.

Another timestamp, this time for my 2022 Regency Big Bang fic Forty Shillings on the Drum. Written for the Tumblr May Trope Mayhem. Can be read as standalone.

Maybe not magnificent, but damn awesome (Rated: T | Word Count: 1,137)

Summary: Movie nights aboard the Impala have become something of a routine after they reunited Sam with his family on Terra. Once a week, Charlie picks some classic movie from back in the days, and their little found family comes together in the living room.

Timestamp number three, once again for my 2021 DCBB fic Maybe not a comedy (according to Jack), but he likes the happy ending. Another entry for the May Trop Mayhem. Should work as standalone.

Filling the Empty Space in My Heart (Rated: T | Word Count: 5,035)

Summary: After Cas let himself be taken by the Empty, Dean's life continues in a blur. Only Jack keeps him going, who has turned himself into an actual four-year-old boy after defeating Chuck and giving up the majority of his powers to stabilise Heaven. However, Dean knows he isn't good enough to raise a nephil. Jack needs his dad. And there might be one way to bring him back. Even if it leads Dean back to Hell, and beyond.

Inspired by an art piece for the DCRB 2024 where I ended up empty handed, and written for the Profound Bond Gift Exchange as a gift for @thecadenceimperfect. With art by me. I later wrote a smutty timestamp as well called:

A Place to Stay (Rated: E | Word Count: 3,157)

Summary: After getting back from the Empty, Dean’s entire body tingled, too edgy for his skin. He barely paid attention to the others and couldn’t stop fidgeting since he had returned to the library and joined them once again at the table. Cas’ presence was electric, pulling him into its orbit. Dean felt it in every fibre of his being as he slumped down on the chair next to him. Echoes of Grace pulsed through him, and for the first time since Cas pulled that stupid stunt and let himself be swallowed by the Empty, Dean felt alive.

TFW 2.0: Siren Adventures (Rated: E | Word Count: 4,727)

Summary: After Charlie and Sam's plan to save Cas and Dean goes sideways, Charlie doesn't give up. There must be another way. When she finds help in an unsual ally, the future is suddenly starting to look brighter.

My Crack in the Chassis catch ( @crack-in-the-chassis ) for @notreallyaroad 's fic TFW: Just Add Water. At first, I claimed for art, but due to the special kind of bang, we agreed for me to write an alternate ending / fix-it as well.

A Part of Me Shall Still Remain (Rated: T | Word Count: 6,918)

Summary: In 1805 Commander Castiel returns home after long years at sea. The Battle of Trafalgar has left him a broken man. For years, he shuns society and withdraws to his estate, until a scandal involving Sir Castiel’s disgraced cousin and a young noblewoman shakes the ballrooms of London and Bath. It introduces him to a doomed woman, who not only does approve of his deepest secrets, but who also does give birth to a child that will alter the commander’s life forever.

My fic for the Dadstiel Bang ( @dadstielminibang ) with stunning art by @twinone1221. This fic is set in the verse of my 2022 Regency Big Bang fic Forty Shillings on the Drum, but can be read as standalone. I had two other collabs for the Dadstiel Bang, both art.

Everlasting Fall (Rated: E | Word Count: 3,136)

Summary: Tendrils of Grace trickled from Dean’s fingers as his hand ghosted along Castiel’s flank. Gasping, Castiel shivered and Dean smiled. “You like that?” Stripped of their combined Grace for the night, Castiel gives himself over to Dean, ready to be taken apart.

Another timestamp because after demon and angel smut, I wanted to write some Grace kink. Set in my Calming the Weather verse.

That's Purrfect (Rated: T | Word Count: 1,262)

Summary: Castiel would do anything for him. He would level entire civilisations for Dean Winchester, or dress as a cat — it didn’t matter as long as Dean was happy.

Another Halloween fic to add to my annual tradition, and the only fic I managed to write for Suptober this year.

Highly Professional (Rated: E | Word Count: 25,565)

Summary: On his first day of college, Dean feels like a fish out of water. After years of working his ass off with several jobs at once to fund his brother’s studies, his family and friends have decided to pay him back. That’s how he finds himself panicking in the lecture hall. Thankfully, a fellow student distracts him. She promptly becomes a good friend, and Dean has no idea how badly he will need her. The moment he lays eyes on his physics professor, Dean is lost. Castiel Novak seems like the man of his dreams. And when the professor’s son appears from under the podium, several lives take an unsuspected turn.

My fic collab for the DCBB 2024 with wonderful art by @sasanka-27. I started this fic for the Dadstiel Bang, but changed it for the one I ended up with.

Your Own Personal Heaven (Rated: T | Word Count: 3,004)

Summary: After arriving in Heaven, Dean's nursing a beer in the crowded and snowed-in Roadhouse when the door opens and Cas enters. Crowding him, Dean makes out with him in front of everyone present, believing that he is stuck in his personal Heaven and none of it is real.

I haven't shared this Christmas fic on Tumblr before because I was too busy with bang collabs and the holidays. Inspired by a prompt by @macy2me.

It's a Stabby Life (Rated: T | Word Count: 4,370)

Summary: Dean Smith’s life as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sandover seems perfect. If there weren’t the dreams, and his new colleague. When he runs into Castiel and accidentally stabs him with a knife in the cafeteria, the guy walks away as if nothing happened. Maybe it didn’t and Dean is simply overworked. But then it happens again, and again, and Dean’s perfect life slowly falls to pieces.

The first of two fics for @deancas-stabfest. @arlington-chamber-of-gay claimed it an created beautiful pieces for the stabs. I had never written Dean Smith before, so this was really fun.

Gonna Find Out Who's Naughty or Nice (Rated: T | Word Count: 8,859)

Summary: During a case involving an entire coven of witches, Dean tries on a Santa hat. Nothing seems wrong, until he can’t remove the hat. Jingles start following his every step while his body changes. Slowly at first, then faster and faster, until he can’t hide it any longer from Sam and Castiel: Dean is transforming into Santa, and there seems to be no way back.

My Stabfest collab number two is the last fic for this year. This time, I claimed a wonderful art piece by @masoenart. It was the second collab with @masoena this year after our collab for the Midam Bang during the summer where our roles were reversed. One reader called this fic Christmas horror. I just had a lot of fun writing it.

Includes a middle section that I personally call the "Lost Times" sequence that features mentions of death, family issues, alcoholism, dementia, and a single mother-son relationship after the father left. Completed *May be expanded/reworked to include three more stories in Remy's, Linguini's, and Colette's perspectives after the fateful night at Gusteau's <- unsure of this yet

Where Do We Go Now? - A future fic featuring a grown-up Gru Jr. as a newbie AVL agent reflecting on his family before he is given his first assignment. Completed

The AVL Files - A Despicable Me fanfic set in an AU that centers around Lucy Wilde and Silas Ramsbottom, with two storylines respectively taking place in the 1970s (the R99 Arc) and the 1990s (the Young Wilde Arc). Includes mentions of parent deaths, childhood trauma/angst/anxiety, childhood bullying, some family issues, and a creeper (he gets dealt with). On a somewhat brighter note, there's also a more badass/competent version of Silas and the AVL and many references to spy/espionage works such as James Bond. Currently ongoing

1. lithuania - i don’t know if i can put into words how much i love this song. i knew form the first listen that i won’t have any other favourite if it wins eurovizija.lt. it’s eerie and deeply moving with its lyrics and especially the sound. atmospheric and raw. lukas’ voice gives me chills. the part where “tavo” is repeated like a chant leaves me absolutely speechless every single time. beautiful, i cannot get over how amazing this song is and feels. i said it many times and i’ll say it again - the 20s are lithuania’s golden age, we’ll see them wining sooner or later (my wish would be with this song but a girl can dream) (also welcome back “aija”)

2. albania - it’s actually insane, this song was released in december, i’ve been listening to in non stop since then and it hasn’t grown off me even a little bit. it’s perfect, the lyrics, the instrumental (mixing electronic sounds with traditional instruments always gets me), the performance (beatrice is such a captivating performer) honestly tirana 2026 (<-delusional)

3. belgium - give me references to rave culture and i’ll eat it up every time. sebastian’s voice is absolutely crazy, the song goes hard with the techno parts and somehow the live performance elevated it even more. i love it so much

4. finland - horny and camp - what more is there to desire? i’m actually in love with erika, her charisma has me in a chokehold. the song is fun and obnoxious (positively) and erika sells it like no one else. vundebar!!!!!! (and fuck ebu for telling her to go less horny bc apparently according to them it’s ok if a dude shows his ass or has a gay sex on scene but not when a woman wants to express her sexuality and have fun with it)

5. greece - im glad that greece has finally got over their (undeserved) nq with “oneiro mou” and came back around to sending ethnic inspired songs. klavdias voice is crystal clear, it’s actually unbelievable. the instrumental and the song as a whole are breathtaking

6. germany - germany is in my top 10, crazy times are upon us…….. but yeah i’m obsessed with this song, it’s modern it’s in german, the “balalalalaler” part doesn’t get tired for me ever a little bit. i think the best adjective to describe “baler” is cool. insanely fucking cool. good job germany (finally)

7. latvia - hypnotising, like a chant from another time, another reality. before supernova i thought this song was unstageable but somehow the performance made the song even more gorgeous. it’s just pure magic. like nothing esc stage has ever seen.

8. italy - sanremo tumblr truly won with this one. i’m so happy he’s actually going to esc, lucio is such a talented and creative artist. the song feels honest, really down to earth and heartwarmingly moving. listening to it for five days right, in a sleep deprived state probably effected my opinion but who cares. VINCITORE LUCIO

9. portugal - i actually had this song in my fdc top5, so i was quite positively surprised when it won. i enjoy this type of music a lot and portugal does it exceptionally well. the lyrics are one of the best (if not the best) of all entries. i realy hope they pull a black mamba or maro with this one bc it’s just such a beautiful song

10. ukraine - biggest grower of the year for me. i love how many beautiful indie rock songs we’ve got this year. and this one hits hard - with the parts sung by the women, the instrumental, the over all flow of the song. idk how to explain it - it’s just charming and i’m glad ukraine gave them a chance

11. sweden - all it took was three finish guys singing about sauna for sweden to send a song in swedish after 27 years. a blast of a song and a great performance to make it a whole package. fr i can’t stop replaying the melo performance, it is just so good. i can’t belive that im saying this but good job sweden

12. austria - im not always the biggest fan of opera songs at esc, but this one blends it so well with a pop ballad and the electronic outro. jjs vocals are absolutely out of this world. will this song be austria’s shot at a victory? we shall see

13. czechia - great song unfortunately suffering form an unnecessary dance break. czechia is making a name for themselves as their quality streak doesn’t break with its song. i have high hopes for the performance

14. azerbaijan- this is my guilty pleasure this year. is it extremely basic? yes. am i absolutely obsessed with the sound of this song? also yes. i dont have a reason it’s just an earwarm for me

15. switzerland- so cute. zoe’s voice is soft like a cotton candy. we needed a soothing ballad like this.

16. poland - yes i liked witcher-tarahoro more but over all it’s an ok song. im glad it’s mostly in polish. what realy makes it stick out is obviously justyna, her insane stamina and stage presence. im glad she got the chance to go again, so polska gurom i guess ????? (while i have the occasion i have to say that her song form 1995 “sama” is to this day my favourite polish esc song ever)

17. france - it didnt impress me as much as i expected but it’s still a powerful ballad with beautiful lyrics.

18. montenegro - i like a solid balkan ballad. as always i have my fingers crossed for montenegro, maybe if dons got to the finals last year, nina zizic can to……?

19. denmark - like with azerbaijan - is it an extremely basic radio song? yes. does it work and is it a good three minutes o music? also yes. with a nice staging this might be denmark best shot at qualifying in years

20. malta - i gave in to the cunty diva hype……. i’m still not the biggest fan of the melody but this is really fun, so so campy and self aware, miriana is such an icon i cannot pretend i don’t like it when kant is being served. possible grover ngl

21. iceland - a good icelandic bop. i like “biomynd” more but this is decent

22. the netherlands - while “run with u” and “hallucination” work for me (as the radio friendly songs of the year) i kinda forget that “cest la vie” exists….. i really like how smoothly the languages blend in this song and by production standards it’s really good but i just can’t get into it unfortunately

23. norway - i can’t really say much about this song besides that it’s well produced and executed. it’s pleasant to the ear

24. estonia - my immense dislike for this song has lessened a bit since eesti laul. i still think it’s not funny and it won’t do as well as many people think it will. it’s not another kaarija as he had a from zero to a hero, people’s champion kind of story, it’s not another joost as he had a personal history and message under all the unseriouseness and, at least for me, tommy cash is just there. (fun fact one of his backup dancers is kajtek januszkiewicz, polish waacker)

25. slovenia - i wanted be one of those people saying this is just a snooze fest of a song, perfect to fill up the bottom of my ranking. i don’t have a heart to do that though. this song feels (and is) so deeply personal, the lyrics tell a story which is both poetic and very raw in portraying a struggle with loving someone terminally ill. kinda reminds me of one of my favourite albums of all time - “hospice” by the antlers. it wasn’t my first choice from slovenia but this song will have a little corner in my heart for sure

26. croatia - on paper i should love this. alternative, kind of edgy, kind of earrapey but something just feels off about it. i was exited to see marko back at dora because i loved “moli za nas” but this just misses the mark for me. it’s like under produced?? and more cringy and edgy lyrically

27. cyprus - i like the instrumental but the lyrics and the delivery ruin it for me unfortunately.

28. san marino - im still baffled that they actually chose the sanremo intro (or should i say the song that was like a sleep paralysis demon for sanremo watchers this year) as their entry. the funniest thing ever actually. for previously mentioned sanremo reasons i cannot put this higher but san marino you do you and have fun with it

29. spain - i like the revamp more that the original actually but yeah it didn’t grow on me as the other diva did. it’s that kind of basic that it just slips through your memory. i couldn’t even hum the melody to save my life

30. uk - it started nice and then it got confusing. idk what to make of this song, it’s like 3 songs in one glued together with some pretty nice vocals but they cannot save this song for me. another 0p for uk

31. serbia - listen i adore balkan ballads, im still waiting for zijeko joksimovic to save music and drop another one of his masterpieces, but “mila” definitely isn’t a substitute. its kind of boring, dated and with the context of current political situation in serbia and how pze went this year because of it, the song just falls incredibly flat

32. australia - you either love it or hate it. and well…….. call me a hypocrite for putting finland so high and this one so low but i just simply don’t like this song. the melody feels off, i don’t like his whispery tone, not my vibe and not my favourite sexual innuendo this year. i don’t want a taste of the milkshake man, get him away form me

33. armenia - im writting this before the revamp but idk something about this song feels forced, it’s dated as well, prags vocals aren’t great idk i don’t like it that’s all

34. luxembourg - too junior esc for my taste

35. ireland - im so sorry but everything about this song annoys me. the melody and emmys vocal tone are one thing (both i don’t like) but the fucking lyrics about the dog that got sent to space by the ussr and probably died in agony after years of solitude - and we’re supposed to have a “laika party in the sky” - don’t know if i should laugh of cry. one of the most bizarre songs i’ve ever heard. i wish i didn’t

I wrote this story as a mini story on my wattpad blog in 2021. That year it was the winner of the summer stories.

It took me a long time before I decided to start a blog on Tumblr and translate my stories into English because at first I wrote it in a different language and no matter how well you translate it, sometimes a story in a different language doesn't give exactly what you want to tell. thankfully, this story was understood exactly where I wanted it to be understood. especially the chapter reviews by @five-miles-over showed me once again how accurately I was able to explain and be understood.

This is the last chapter before the finale, but our paths will never part here.

And I would like to remind you once again that this is not a sweet romantic comedy, this is the story of all my neglected girls.

Summary: What began as a passionate and intense love between Lia and the Beast turns into a story of betrayal and devastation. As trust shatters and secrets unfold, Lia is pushed to make an irreversible decision. In the end, a broken-hearted woman's revenge not only breaks the curse but also takes a life. After the night they spent together, the morning was filled with great elation. Lumiere and Featherduster indulged in their love all day long and for the weeks that followed. Mrs. Potts was in indescribable bliss, having been reunited with her dearest friend Madame. The three old friends—Lumiere, Cogsworth, and the Prince—had begun to make up for lost time.

Of course, every night, Lia made up for something else at his side. Their bodies, apart during the day, punished one another with longing.

Their hands and tongues memorized each other’s bodies anew every night. As if they had never been together before, they offered their souls again and again, in their deepest hunger.

While cries of lust echoed through the castle, a scream of anguish—perhaps for the first time in months—rattled the stone walls.

And this time, it was Lia crying out, unable to contain the sound of her heartbreak. The tears in her eyes weren’t for the man who had once planted the seeds of heaven within her, but for the man she had never truly known at all.

“I trusted you,” the young woman clawed at her own hair in fury. “Goddammit, I trusted you.” As the tears rushed down, she had no idea what to do. She didn’t know when things had come to this. She wasn’t sure what she could do. All she knew was that she had been deceived.

Or rather, Lia had been a complete fool—duped by the man she thought she knew.

But as always, that too was a lie. Was he ever truly going to love her? Had she really believed she would be chosen, unconditionally? That was the most painful part of all.

Without caring about her tears or Lumiere calling out behind her, she left the West Wing. She didn’t know where she was going, but she knew one thing: she couldn’t stay here a minute longer.

She could have swallowed everything else, could have endured it. And she had. But this—oh no. This was unforgivable.

With resolute steps, her heels striking the floor with force, she headed for the front door. She frowned at the noise that caught her attention.

The Beast intercepted her, practically leaping down the stairs. “Don’t go!” he pleaded. Lia yanked her arm free from his massive, bony hands and continued on. “Stop!” he said again, this time with a harsher voice.

“I didn’t say you could leave!”

“And I didn’t ask your permission to go!”

Without so much as a glance back, Lia tried to flee, but the Beast caught her. Grabbing her arm, he dragged her back to the West Wing. Then made sure to lock the door behind them.

It’s over, Lia thought.

This is where it ends.

What was he going to do—kill her? Was he going to force her as if they hadn’t shared nights of passion just yesterday and the night before?

Could he really be that kind of man?

“Let me go!” Lia screamed with all her strength. “Don’t touch me, don’t you dare!” She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand, violently. “Don’t you ever, under any circumstances, dare touch me again. You hear me?!”

She stepped closer to the man she had distanced herself from and began pounding on his chest. “Say something!”

“Say you loved me! Say it wasn’t all a game to break the curse!” This time, she slapped him—hard. His head snapped to the left from the force of it. “Say something!” Lia shouted again.

She was having a breakdown.

And she had no idea what to do.

When the young man straightened his head and fixed his gaze directly on Lia, the love and lust in his eyes were gone. As if they had never been there.

In those blue eyes was pure rage. And even in his Beast form, he had never looked at anyone like this. Not under any circumstances.

When he grabbed the young woman by the hair and dragged her to the balcony, the only thing heard from the West Wing was the echo of devastated screams.

“What do you want me to say, Eftalia? What?!” the man roared.

“To break the curse, I needed a woman to fall in love with me. Your cousin Zoelle was a much easier piece, but no—you just had to make everything harder, didn’t you?! You risked the lives of everyone in this place! Are you happy now?!” The young man paced furiously on the balcony, while Lia lay collapsed on the ground, exhausted from sobbing.

“This is what you are,” he said, crouching and gripping the young woman’s chin. “A piece that can be discarded without a second thought.” The words, spat like venom, were too much for Lia to process.

“Even your family didn’t object to you coming here. To the castle of a Beast!” the man laughed. Despite his blue eyes, they burned with the embers of fire.

He was burning with fury.

Just as they had once burned each other with lust. Just as they now burned each other with disappointment.

“How many months have passed since you came here? How many times did they call to check on you? Oh right,” He stood with sudden clarity, “None!”

“Because you are nothing, Lia. To everyone. To all of us. A big fat nothing.”

The young woman stood up, whispering, “Stop.” Even she could barely hear her own voice.

“But there’s one big thing you forgot, Lia. The curse works both ways,” he hissed, pointing his long fingers toward her head, hatred pouring from him. “If your stupid little brain had worked even once, you might’ve realized the curse was broken because I fell in love with you too!”

His eyes, too, began to fill with tears of betrayal. But that couldn’t undo the insults he’d hurled at Lia. The young woman shouted, “Stop!” This time, her voice surely shook the entire castle. “I don’t want to hear your voice anymore!” She began walking toward him, calm and composed.

“In fact,” she said, “I don’t want anyone to ever hear your voice again.”

She was eerily calm now, and though that began to genuinely frighten the man, it was far too late to rebuild what had been destroyed.

“The celebration,” the young woman said.

“What?”

“Madame said the celebration hadn’t yet begun, the first day I came here.” Lia stared pensively at the view. “I never understood what she meant.” Then she locked eyes with the blue. “I think we’re about to find out. Don’t you?” she said.

Empty space.

A fall.

The man’s body crashed to the ground from meters above, landing limp and lifeless.

What lay on the ground was not a Beast.

He was an unbearably handsome prince.

As the blood from his shattered skull traced its own path on the ground, Lia descended into the garden—bringing with her the lost soul she had once found.

To the lifeless body of the man she loved, the Beast to whom she had been captive.

She stared and stared at the corpse. Then she turned around in confusion. Where had everyone gone?

Lumiere?

Cogsworth?

Madame?

Mrs. Potts?

For God’s sake, was no one there?

She looked one last time at the fallen blue. Ignoring the trembling in her whole body, she knelt down. Her hand, shaking beyond control, gently traced the Beast’s face. She drew in a deep breath, as though to breathe one last time. Then, without breaking her composure, she leaned in and placed a faint kiss on his lips.

A kiss without lust, without love, without sorrow, without fear.

Even in the face of the lifeless body before her, she was surprised her tears still fell. And yet, she was deeply relieved—for the old Eftalia, the one everyone once knew, had finally returned.

When she stood, words slipped from her lips before she could stop them.

“I’m sorry,” she said with a trembling breath. She shook her head—despite all her effort, the scene before her hadn’t changed.

And Lia was still eerily calm.

“I’m sorry,” she repeated once more.

As her feet carried her forward on their own, Lia came upon the rose the Beast had clutched when he fell. It was about two meters away from his body. Without haste and without hesitation, she walked toward it and picked it up.

When she reached the front gate surrounded by iron bars, she thanked her own will.

She didn’t look back, not even once.

She had come to this castle to live a life of willing captivity— And she left it as a lover, a killer, and a free woman.

With every step she took without looking back, her eyes brimmed with tears in defiance of the smile on her lips.

It was listed on multiple sites during the release of S3 of The Boys, that Jensen took home $800,000 for the entire show. Since most tend to believe those sites more than tumblr gossip bloggers, I'm guessing that is why people are doubting you. The other interesting fact is when you state that Jared made $300K for Walker? Aside from your cute little blog, no one in the actual industry is reporting that. It may be true, but I doubt you have any real knowledge, as Jared doesn't call you personally to review his contracts. Then again, maybe he does.

Where are these "multiple sites" you speak of? Why is it every time Anons claim there are many sources saying this and saying that about Jensen, they never pony up the sources? I've been asking for sources from y'all for years! And if their source comes from a single website called celebrity networth, it's useless because they use "proprietary algorithm" for estimating networth and salaries and have exactly zero accountability for providing accurate numbers and often inflate the numbers as click baits. Actors have debunked the site's inflated claims on their own accounts.

Did you ever wonder why the Successions actors were able to negotiate pay raise from under $100,000 per episode to $300,000 per episode by the 3rd season even though the show was only getting about 550K people watching its Sunday nights episode?

Just read my posts in the "salary" tag going back to 2017. Boy did I piss people off! Until the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike happened when actors showed off their pitiful residuals and revealed their low streaming salary and reiterate that actors with regular job on broadcast network shows still get high salaries under the old systems. All this confirmed what I've been saying on my cute little blog for 6 years leading up 2023. You, little Anon, is just the upteenth pre-2023 Anons in my Askbox frothing in the mouth that I ruined their fantasies that their favorite actors were not being paid the worth they think they should be paid.

How this industry conduct business hasn't changed for the past 25 years when I was in the thick of it (What I did in Hollywood and why I left ) It's actually gotten worse for actors except for those in broadcast network shows. Until 2024, then those same actors had to agree to pay cap or pay cuts during the contraction era.

"Jared doesn't call you personally to review his contracts. Then again, maybe he does."

He doesn't. I just know how business affairs departments works and what actors' quotes are when they are of the same tier as Jared and Jensen. It's why we had a good laugh over the 2018 quote ban.

One of the reasons why I started my cute little Tumblr blog in 2016 was because my twitter account got deactivated in 2015 (X). for talking too much about BTS stuff. Clearly I didn't learn my lesson about not tagging shit and got my account deactivate again in 2021 (X). A few readers think I'm Kamran Pasha, who wrote for a few CW shows and also seen his twitter get deactivated for dishing too much BTS stuff.

Nobody cares about Tumblr because it can't be monetized and it doesn't have real influence (which is why Misha Collins let his tumblr blog rot), therefore blogs rarely get deactivated. It's why I'm here.

what were your full and complete thoughts on greta and valdin?

oh so many. i think for me a lot of my issues with contemporary fiction more broadly sort of came to a head in this book. for a brief summary the novel follows (with alternating perspectives) two russian-māori twenty-something siblings living in auckland and their extended family and allegedly navigating love and relationships but in reality navigating nothing because nothing happens. i wrote a longer review when i logged it but ill summarise it here:

1. all the characters speak the same, in speech and in thought. they have this sarcastic, self-aware, socially-awkward dry humour which leeches into everything they say and is peppered with niche, hyper-specific cultural references and liberal political signposting because thats meant to make this funnier, which it doesn't. the upshot of this is the book sounds like the author's failed observational stand-up comedy set. every single character in g&v talks like this, regardless of background, age, personality. theres this huge cast of boring characters which was hard enough to track without the fact that every line of dialogue could be spoken by any character, because they all sound the same and are granted extremely scarce physical descriptions. some of them even have the same name. old men who fled the soviet union speak in the same way, with the same cultural references, as their twenty-something queer trendy chronically-online children. a mixture of current twitter discourse threads and the distinct cadence of any tumblr post from 2016-2021 which was frankly embarrassing to read!!

2. it was very boring. i saw other people say that it needed editing, which is true, but also it just shouldn't have been published: there is no story here. there can't be, since no one does anything wrong, because they all speak like they're in a therapy session. there were no conflicts or points of tension and things which are built up as momentous arent even resolved, they just drift past as non-issues. all the characters were competing for the highest grade in therapy-speak and when that wasn't happening they were randomly meeting nondescript auxiliary family members (of which there were far too many? why did we need so many characters to stand around referencing chick flicks from thirty years ago?) who, in response to extremely simple questions, monologued about some exposition-y character backstory for another auxiliary family member until the end of the chapter. it was kinda astonishing to read under the assumption that an editor had actually seen it, because so often there was no logical explanation for shoving that much exposition dialogue at the front of the book within interactions where it makes no sense for that to be happening. there is a scene where greta goes on a first date where she explains the entirety of her older brothers backstory as a teen parent and subsequent custody battle for his child which happened like a decade ago. for several pages.

3. greta and valdin are also boring--everything wrong with the auxiliary characters is also wrong with them. valdin is this tv comedian, which makes no sense: he isn't funny, he is never funny or presented as being funny, all we know about him is he is anxious and quiet and in love with a boring man. his line of work makes no sense. neither of them have any actual problems. like all litfic characters now they seem to enjoy pretending they're poor and then something will happen to demonstrate that these are comfortably middle-class young people complaining about non-issues and obsessing over themselves. like valdin pretending he doesn't have enough money and then on a whim buying himself a car. he is also a physicist while simultaneously being very stupid. there is a whole revelatory moment where he realises that his dad coming to nz from moldova prior to the fall of the iron curtain meant he must have fled rather than just emigrated making him a refugee, which valdin is very shocked and sad about. a grown adult. greta was perhaps even more forgettable since her character arc is over after like 50 pages when she meets someone and thats genuinely, literally all that happens to her. she gets a girlfriend who is nice and talks just like her. thats it.

4. everyone in this massive family is gay. this teetered on the edge of unbelievability to me, especially when there were random distant family members showing up throughout and even to the end, who had no other function or presence in the plot at all other than announcing that they were newly out as gay. none of these announcements were revisited because again these characters did not turn up again and bore no relevance. to be honest its hard to word my issue with this in a way that wont produce objections but as a queer person who is interested in reading about queer characters i find no value or interest in a presentation of it which is so far removed from any actual lived experience as to verge on the fanciful. that is a personal taste thing. im also just sick of characters who are lazily written which authors try to pass off as being complex and interesting just because they are queer and/or a minority. i think its a disservice to the groups ur trying to gain clout for representing. im tired of queerness (and identity politics in general) being used as a crutch to elevate a bad book. books are not good solely off the back of being queer. and thats not to say queer books dont have a right to be bad because they do, but its frustrating when a book that is bad gets praised as if its actually well-written or has anything to say (which this book doesn't, like at all), solely because its queer. i dont know if its because people are less comfortable criticising works which centre around voices that are underrepresented. but that doesnt make the representation good. to me i just feel like if this book was identical in plot but everyone was straight, it would be flagged as being pretty insufferable. i dont think it stops being insufferable because theyre gay. sorry! there is excellent queer literature out there we dont need to spotlight and heap hyperbole onto the stuff that is actually shit.

ya! tldr; nothing happened, the characters were boring and the way they spoke was insufferable and repetitive, and the author had to rely very heavily on their social identities as evidence of their actually being very interesting. they were not and neither was this book. epitome of couldve been a tweet which id see reposted onto instagram and even then not find very funny or clever.

Have you ever thought of ever giving reviews and your thoughts on the Wild Kratts episodes that came out before you started blogging about them?

I did somewhat, but I knew I could never fully accomplish them because of how many there were. I started being active on Tumblr in around mid-to-late 2021, during the hiatus after Season 6. Season 7 gave me enough hype to post thoughts on the episodes and it just became a consistent hobby of mine.

I'm not going to review/thought-post every single episode because even for me that would be way too much f**king work. But when Season 7 ends this year, I'm definitely going to do a roundup post summarizing my thoughts on each episode and the season as a whole (both because I forgot to do some for the first half of Season 7 and so that I could potentially rank it amongst other seasons).

Scumbag Monthly ✨

Scumbag Monthly was a free online fanzine for The Young Ones (and sometimes adjacent media) produced by fans between 2020-2023. From Issue #4 (1.6.20), I was its editor.

Twenty-five regular zines were produced, as well as several specials. SM featured fanart, fanfic, memes, puzzles, competitions, pages "made by" the characters, occasional thought pieces, and other miscellaneous bits and bobs.

Rik And Ade Fest ✨

The Rik and Ade Fest is run by myself and @xgardensinspace as a yearly fandom event. It involves fans submitting prompt ideas for any show/film featuring Rik and/or Ade, which participants can then claim and make fic/art for. Each fest's creative output is hosted in its own collection on ao3.

Though the first fest in 2021 ran to coincide with Christmas, every fest since has run to coincide with Scumbag Easter (12th June).

All New Strand Weapons for Episode: Heresy reviewed and discussed in-depth

This will contain spoilers for weapons released in later acts, if they're visible in the API. This is from the perspective of an endgame challenge player, so I won't be entertaining much in the way of "neat fun rolls," since what's fun for me isn't necessarily what's fun for you and vice-versa. I'll mention them where especially noteworthy, especially if the weapon doesn't have any genuinely good rolls. This is going to be a series split up into one post for all six damage types, because of tumblr's length limitation.

ABYSSAL EDGE

Abyssal Edge is exactly what I like to see in a seasonal weapon. It's clearly outclassed in its category by an objctively superior raid weapon, but has access to some situationally useful rolls for an endgame player and is a standout pick for anyone who can't raid. Access to Elemental Honing gives you a very powerful damage perk (with Surrounded as another option, made a little harder to use by the wave frame.) Adepts are worth chasing if you're willing, as access to Adept Impact is a noteworthy damage increase. Recommended use-case: sustained boss damage phases, using a prismatic setup with your grenades and other two weapons to stack a buff on par with Bait and Switch.

ADAMANTITE

Adamantite is a very Okay Gun. It's technically best-in-slot by virtue of being the only in-slot weapon. Physic is a stronger option than Reciprocity, and you know exactly how good Incandescent is, so Adamantite has some steep competition. That being said, Adamantite opens your energy slot for something like Aberrant Action or Velocity Baton. It's a situational alternative, but in a vacuum, you should be using No Hesitation instead. Recommended use case: Consistent support option for RaD, nightfall, or nether content. Attrition orbs procs off of shooting your own teammate. There's a case to be made for ensemble/runneth over synergy.

BARROW-DYAD

Weird spot. Barrow-Dyad looks sick, feels good, but kind of lacks identity. This may feel better in practice with access to the refits, but I'm underwhelmed (even if I do love it.) Hatchling is bait, and high-impact reserves is a neat power fantasy but seems objectively worse than target lock. I can't really recommend which of the refits to use, as they're not yet available, but I'm leaning more towards the crowd control setup. Recommended use case: Exotic primaries are always handy, as they give you increased drops for your ammo finder mods. This one is good for room clear and major chunking, but worse than dedicated options in either category, of course.

CYNOSURE

The year is 2014. I just finished running Vault of Glass, and I'm going into strikes to try to get the best rocket launcher in the game. The year is 2021. I just finished running Vault of Glass, and I'm going into strieks to try to get the second best rocket launcher in the game. Hezen Vengeance has this beat by virtue of being a superior archetype with a better origin trait and Bait and Switch access, but Elemental Honing is the next best thing. (arguably better, if you're willing to build into it.) Recommended use case: Sustained boss damage rotations. This thing is absurd for a strike drop.

MIRROR IMAGO

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this thing. It's a bit of a multitool perk pool, and while they're all kind of underwhelming individually, it's so versatile that it makes up for the slightly outdated perk options. Access to pugilist/swash makes this a potent option for banner of war titans (if there are any of you still around in 2025) and it's the first easily accessible SMG with hatchling since Lightfall. This thing is objectively superior to Synchronic in everything but origin trait, and that's still kind of a close race. This thing might be a monster in PVP as well, with To The Pain/Target Lock. I really wish it had Veist Stinger, but I understand wanting it to feel distinct. Recommended use case: What if Funnelweb was green?

REFUSAL OF THE CALL

This thing looks so unbelievably fucking cool. Insane design. Please let there be more of these. This is our first glaive with Discord, which has some really neat potential with Close to Melee for an infinitely looping 30% damage bonus, while leaving you open to use one of the incredibly potent exotic energy primaries dominating the sandbox at the moment. There's also the classic impulse amplifier/vorpal weapon, for a consistently high-performing workhorse. Recommended use case: highly aggressive tactics with Discord looping for functionally unlimited ammo and a functionally unlimited 30% buff.

RESOUNDING

Don't let me catch you using this thing. Bad gun. Aggressive frames have some amount of potential, and the model is good, but the stats and perks leave a lot to be desired. By nature of the horizontal spread, Aggs will never be optimal for damage, and we have significantly better perks for ad clear than a roll like subsistence/reservoir burst. This thing would have done numbers in Beyond Light, but is sorely lacking something to the tune of Discord.

Recommended use case: Not really, no. This hurts me more than it hurts you.

TARAXIPPOS

PVP weapon. They largely removed its old (niche) god roll of Gutshot Straight/Explosive Payload in favour of tuning the perks to Crucible (very effectively, mind you, I'm excited to use it.) The model isn't currently in the API, so this screenshot is my personal roll of the old one.

Recommended use case: Chase something like Fourth Times' The Charm/Precision Instrument for a Beyond Light-era "I'm Scared Of Red Bars" GM plinkster.

UNLOVED

I need this thing to drop for me so unbelievably badly. Maybe the top of my shopping list right now, Unloved is an incredibly potent workhorse, I'll be using it in ritual strikes just as often as I'll be using it in Day 1s, most likely. A comically large perk pool gives you a lot of room to work with for whatever you might want it to do. There's hatchling in the 3rd column, allowing you to use your subclass synergy with a damage perk. Recommended use case: She's whatever you want her to be. These perks scream "just shoot stuff with your gun, nothing fancy needed."

UNSWORN

Last, but probably most; Unsworn is one of those little gems that looks kind of whatever to most players, but puts a spring in the step of every speedrunner who sees it drop. Shoot to Loot trace rifles are a darling for us, and Detonator Beam lets the weapon pick up ammo bricks in the middle of a chaotic fight without any user intervention. There's a ton of good more conventional rolls on this thing, like rewind rounds with detonator beam, to the point where you can't really go wrong.

Recommended use case: Don't let the green ammo fool you, this is your new primary weapon. Being a top slot trace gives you access to weapons like lord of wolves (insane with the new buffs) or merciless for your DPS rotations.

research, archiving, transcribing

I like to go digging about hockey tactics, I like learning about the game and the people who play it, I like sharing it here — please watch out for times when I’m on a frantic media collection spree! I also archive and transcribe stuff here because I like to have it searchable on my blog. scouting/draft stuff

I like to poke around at prospects and draft related stuff. If I’m not watching hockey and learning about it, I’m reading/listening to draft + prospect material. When players get to the NHL, I find much of the coverage dries up. Any commentary on their play becomes vague, and everything is a stat + short comment rather than a detailed breakdown on habits and skills.

Public scouts publish long-form, detailed analysis (often including video reviews!). You can learn a lot about how to watch hockey and what makes a player good by reading up on what public scouts are saying and comparing your own notes <3

Beyond that I’m here for a vibe check... most of this is tunneling for fun media, interesting scouting reports, interviews, and draft day gifs. I’m just some guy at my desk. I have very few original, serious, well-informed takes about draft order or draftees. I can collect scout testimony and clips but I would not have anything of substance to say about where someone is gonna go in the draft <- anything i say is 70% joke and 30% vibes-based scrying. I don’t know what every team wants out of a draft, don't follow every top draft-eligible, and I don't plan to!!

The 2024 draft that we just had was the first one I experienced live, but I’ve been backreading stuff + looking toward future drafts. See tags below. Most are pretty empty, I’ll fill them sporadically — 2024 for obvious reasons is the tag with the most content right now so that’s a nice place to start <3
