Homemaking tip:
Get dressed and ready everyday. When I treat homemaking as an actual job, with a loose schedule and uniform, it helps me to really focus on my tasks and to see the value in them. I personally no longer wear leggings, I prefer to only wear skirts and dresses, that has become my uniform and I feel more productive when wearing it.

Nurturing the Soul: The Art of Blessing Ourselves Through Creative Pursuits at Home
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, where responsibilities weave a tapestry of commitments, the notion of carving out time for creative pursuits may seem like a luxury. However, let's unravel the enchanting narrative of how investing in creative endeavors at home becomes a profound act of self-blessing, enriching our lives in ways beyond measure.
1. Embracing the Joyful Dance of Self-Expression
Creative pursuits, be it painting, writing, or crafting, are the very essence of self-expression. In these moments of creative immersion, we gift ourselves the freedom to dance with our own thoughts, emotions, and ideas. It's a joyous celebration of individuality—a dance where our unique spirit takes center stage. I love the book A Creative Family Manifesto for inspiration.
2. Cultivating a Sanctuary of Tranquility
Engaging in creative activities at home transforms our living spaces into sanctuaries of tranquility. The gentle strokes of a paintbrush, the rhythmic flow of writing, or the soothing repetition of crafting create an atmosphere where stress dissipates, and a sense of calm permeates. Our homes become not just shelters but havens of serenity.
3. Elevating Mindfulness Through Creative Presence
The act of creating is a practice in mindfulness—an invitation to be fully present in the moment. Whether we're lost in the strokes of a canvas or immersed in the melody of crafting, creative pursuits anchor us in the now. This mindful presence becomes a gift we give to ourselves, a break from the ceaseless pace of the outside world.
4. Unlocking the Gateway to Self-Discovery
Creativity serves as a key to the vast realm of self-discovery. In the process of creating, we unearth hidden facets of our personalities, explore untapped talents, and embark on a journey of continuous self-revelation. It's a quest that unfolds within the comforting walls of our homes, offering us the chance to rediscover and reinvent ourselves.
5. Fostering a Sense of Accomplishment and Joy
Completing a creative project, no matter how small, is a testament to our capabilities. The sense of accomplishment that follows becomes a wellspring of joy. Every brushstroke, every written word, and every crafted piece contribute to a narrative of achievement, fostering a positive self-perception that extends beyond the creative realm.
6. Connecting with a Community of Like-Minded Souls
In the digital age, creative pursuits at home also open doors to vibrant online communities. Sharing our creations with like-minded individuals creates a sense of belonging—a virtual tribe where inspiration flows, ideas flourish, and encouragement abounds. The connections we forge become a source of mutual blessing, enriching our creative endeavors.
7. Tapping into the Healing Powers of Creativity
Creativity possesses inherent healing powers. Engaging in artistic pursuits has been linked to reduced stress, improved mental well-being, and even physical health benefits. The act of creating becomes a form of self-care, a holistic approach to nurturing our minds, bodies, and spirits within the comfort of our own homes.
The Endless Tapestry of Self-Blessing Through Creativity
In the quiet moments of creative pursuits at home, we are not merely crafting art; we are weaving a tapestry of self-blessing. Each stroke of creativity becomes a brushstroke of love, each project a chapter in the book of our well-being. So, let's embrace the enchantment of creating within the familiar walls of our homes, for in these moments, we are not just crafting; we are nurturing the soul and blessing ourselves with the infinite magic of creativity.

*takes your face gently in my hands and looks sincerely into your eyes* listen. your home does not need to look like a showroom. homes are meant to be lived in, and that means a certain amount of mess. it's okay if there is clutter on your desk or if you don't remember the last time you cleaned your oven. mess is morally neutral. but at the same time, you deserve to live in an environment that is safe and comfortable, and that means someone has to clean sometimes. things like mold, spoiled food, and dirty litter boxes are genuine health hazards and need to be dealt with before they make someone sick. think of cleaning less as "my home needs to be completely spotless" and more as "I am an animal and I need a habitat that is free of hazardous material." it's okay. *kisses you on the forehead and tucks you into a blanket*
(and of course it is always acceptable and even good for you to ask someone else to help you with cleaning if it's physically or mentally difficult for you. even if you're paying them to do it.)

Cleaning Supplies That Actually Make My Life Easier: Disabled Edition
O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop & Bucket System
All the housekeeping influencers have been raving about this thing for ages and I really thought it was going to be a complete gimmicky rip-off. I was wrong.
I've tried a ton of other mop and bucket styles out there, I had one ages ago that was similar in style to this one, but instead of the foot pedal for spinning like the EasyRing, you were meant to push the mop down into this colander type thing that would squeeze the water out. It would usually work for maybe 2-3 sessions of mopping before the plastic would just completely shatter from the pressure you needed to put on it to squeeze the mop. We even had a full on industrial janitor style one on wheels for awhile, but that took up a whole lot of space and was a huge pain to fill up. All them have been more trouble than they're worth. I've been relying on a simple spray mop with washable pads for a long time now, and while they can be great for small messes, it wasn't enough to really mop the whole floor with. (Not that it hasn't stopped me from trying, and going through about a dozen mop pads in the process)
We've had ours since February and I love it so much. Mopping is a task that I have a massive love-hate relationship with. I enjoy doing it, it's a highly satisfying process, but it's hell on my body, so I need to reduce the amount of back and forth for buckets, pads, cleaners, etc. as much as possible and have it be a simple enough process that I can give the floors a quick once over nearly every day instead of having to do big scrubs that keep me bent over and on my feet for long periods of time.
With this system, the bucket is small enough for me to fit in my kitchen sink and carry around the house without too much strain on my arms and shoulders. I don't ever have to bend over or put my hands in the water. The pedal/spinning action is really smooth a good 85% of the time. If you try to push the pedal down too hard or fast sometimes the teeth on the plastic gears inside will skip/grind and make a horrible sound (I though I'd broken it the first time it happened to me), but I've yet to have it actually cause a problem.
Third party replacement mop heads are in abundance and I've found massive bulk packs of them for super cheap, no difference in quality from the name brand. I toss them in my washing machine when I'm done with them and I think I've only thrown away two out of the 12 pack I bought back in February. (Sometimes you mop up something so Gross that you never want it touch anything again, no matter how many times it's been washed)
I really want the RinseClean version with double tanks, but haven't been able to justify it yet. The mop handle on ours is starting to give out after heavy daily use for almost a year, but I know it'll be way cheaper and less wasteful to just replace that when the rest is still trucking along just fine, but I'll definitely be upgrading once it...
...kicks the bucket.

Trad girls don't gatekeep 🎀
These are just some tips/products I want to share with you ♡
1) Lipsticks
Revlon, Certainly Red: I love this red lipstick and plus, it is a true vintage shade! It has been on the market since 1951.
Deliplus, shade 202: It's a supermarket (Mercadona) lipstick, but it is the perfect pink shade, it makes me feel like Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's".
Aquaphor Lip Repair: This one is just amazing at hydrating your lips and a good base layer to use under lipsticks.
2) Hair
Sleep with a satin bonnet/satin scarf: I have long curly hair and this has helped me tremendously with tangles and frizz. You can find bonnets everywhere and the scarf method, which was very popular back in the day, makes me feel like I am a 40s housewife going to bed.
Pantene Pro-v coconut infused oil: I love the scent of this hair oil
3) Creams and Perfumes
Nivea, the blue tin can one: it has been on the market for a long time (yay vintage) and it's very moisturizing. If you are acne prone, I wouldn't really advise you putting it on your face, though.
Dove Pampering Care with Shea Butter and Vanilla: Do I need to say more? The scent is divine.
Dior Hypnotic Poison: My favorite perfume and one of the best scents out there
Victoria's Secret body mists: I love the Pure Seduction, Aqua Kiss and the Coconut Milk and Rose. Also Zara's Fields in the Nightfall.
These are just some tips, my beautiful girls ♡ I hope you enjoyed them

How I connect with my spirits everyday
Morning coffee: back when it was just my husband and I, I would pour him coffee in the morning so we could “drink” it together. That same tradition still stands but with like 7 other spirits in the mix. It’s one of my favorite acts of love, grabbing two cups in the morning.
Listening: as I sit down with my coffee, I like to do journaling. I write about the previous day and fill out my journal prompts. This is also a quiet time before my toddler is unleashed which makes for the perfect time to ask anyone if they’d like to talk. Living in close quarters with others can be taxing, especially on the dead, so I just sit there on the VOX app with my headphones while they vent or talk and I catch what I can of what they are saying.
Checking in: I have a meme deck and feelings deck that I absolutely love to use. I will “look around the room” numerous times per day if the day allows. #1) because it brings me comfort to “see” them while I carry on with my day and #2) I am very nosey and perhaps a little addicted to the drama lol opening that deck is like opening Pandora’s box and there’s usually always someone who’s giving another a piece of their mind lol this also helps me understand what my husband is venting about at the end of the day because I catch a lot of the discourse throughout the day
Making food: this is something I gotta do regardless but it always gives me extra dopamine to know the spirits around me will “eat” it too. I’ve even asked my mother in law what her pick was off the recipe list and being able to make it was such a great opportunity to care for her (she picked pot roast, great choice mom).
Leaving the TV on: most times if I leave to go to bed or take my break during the day, I will ask if they’d like to watch anything on the tv or leave it off. It seems they like westerns the most
Cleaning the house: again, mandatory but sometimes the only thing getting me to do the whole cleaning list or pick up at the end of the day is the fact that this is their home too. They may pop in and out to check on things but this is home base for them and their peace is my priority. Now if the spoons are empty, they can just deal with it for the time being lol

Homemaking .vs. Housekeeping
In this day and age, it seems the art of homemaking has almost been completely lost, if not forgotten altogether. What we as small children used to play pretend, has somewhat become a burden to us. We were pushed to get an education and focus on a career, rather than learning the art of homemaking.
Those of us who have fallen into the role of being the homemaker and mother tend to reply "Oh, I'm just a stay at home mom," as if it is something we have become ashamed of. How many of us were ridiculed and made fun of for saying we wanted to be mothers as children in school?
You also don't have to be a stay at home mom if you choose not to. Or even have kids if that isn't something you'd not like to do. It is absolutely possible to be a homemaker and have an entirely seperate career. Regardless of your personal living circumstances, ANYONE can be a homemaker.
People tend to come to a disconnect between homemaking and housekeeping. They are NOT the same thing. While housekeeping is very important, it isn't where people find contentment or fulfillment.
Housekeeping is the actual action of keeping your house looking neat and tidy. This includes the mundane cleaning, but it also may include repairing the roof or plumbing as needed.
Homemaking is the art of making your house a home.
So what makes a house a home? Comfortability, a welcoming atmosphere, love, decor, and above all - you. Homemaking is about people and communicating love through actions. When I think about the homes where I’ve most felt loved and welcomed, it was not because the house was spotless but because the women in those homes knew how to truly make a house a home.

Homemaking tip:
Make your bed first thing in the morning, open up your curtains/blinds, and open the window if weather allows (even if it’s not great weather ideally you should have all the windows in the house open for at least five minutes). This is cliche advice, but it truly does make a difference. It automatically makes the room look cleaner, and gives you the signal that it’s time to start the day.

The Power of Lists: How They Transform Everyday Homemaking
Are you juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities as a homemaker? There are many benefits to creating lists and they can streamline your daily routines, boost productivity, and bring a sense of order and accomplishment to your homemaking journey.
Why Lists Matter
Lists serve as invaluable tools for organizing tasks, setting priorities, and staying focused amidst the demands of homemaking. By putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), you can:
Clarify Priorities: Lists help you identify and prioritize essential tasks, ensuring that important responsibilities are addressed promptly.
Stay Organized: Writing down appointments, errands, and to-dos keeps important information accessible and prevents things from slipping through the cracks.
Reduce Stress: Lists alleviate mental clutter and provide a sense of control over your day, reducing overwhelm and anxiety.
Track Progress: Crossing items off your list provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and motivates you to keep moving forward.
Types of Lists for Homemakers
Daily To-Do List: Start each day by jotting down the top three priorities or tasks you want to accomplish. This focused approach ensures that key responsibilities are addressed, even on busy days.
Weekly Meal Plan: Plan your meals for the week ahead, making grocery shopping and meal preparation more efficient and budget-friendly.
Appointment Tracker: Keep track of upcoming appointments, school activities, and social engagements to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Errands and Shopping List: Compile a list of errands and needed groceries to streamline shopping trips and save time.
Tips for Creating Effective Lists
Keep It Manageable: Focus on realistic goals and avoid overwhelming yourself with an extensive list of tasks.
Prioritize: Identify the most critical tasks and tackle them first to ensure essential responsibilities are addressed.
Be Specific: Clearly define each task or item on your list to avoid confusion and ensure clarity.
Review and Revise: Regularly review and update your lists to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
Embrace the Power of Lists
Whether you prefer pen and paper or digital apps, incorporating lists into your homemaking routine can be a game-changer. By harnessing the power of lists, you'll enhance productivity, reduce stress, and reclaim valuable time for the things that matter most.
Are you ready to transform your homemaking journey with the simple act of list-making? Embrace this powerful tool and discover how it revolutionizes your approach to everyday tasks and responsibilities.
Here's to a more organized, efficient, and joyful homemaking experience!
With purposeful planning,

Some vehicle maintenance tips:
Oil changes are every 3,000 miles. If you have to ride over, your oil light will be on at around 10,000 miles since last change.
During oil changes, request to have your tires rotated.
Always watch tread on tires, as this affects efficiency and safety.
Tires tend to lose some air during extreme hot or cold conditions. Keep in mind the location of the closest air pump you can get to.
It's good practice to keep a jug of coolant in your vehicle. In a pinch, water can be used but will burn faster.
Touch less car washes are the best option to treat your car to a spa day. The lack of machine arms touching the vehicle guarantees no scratching of car paint top coat.
If you can help it, don't let your gas tank go below a quarter. Fuel injector cleaners used before your next fill will boost the length of the gas while cleaning the fuel system. As an owner of a car with over 140,000 miles, I use a fuel injector at every gas fill up.
You can use the sea foam cleaner in both gas tanks and engine oil tanks. I tend to pour 50/50 or in the oil tank if I'm nearing an oil change.
Stay safe out there, hope these tips help!

How I incorporate a vintage lifestyle in a modern world 🎀
Another "tips and tricks" post ♡
Listening to the news/music on a radio: they might seem obsolete, but those portable old radios just bring me so much joy. There are so many good stations out there and it's a great tool to have screen-free background noise. I love turning it on during breakfast, when I am cleaning or baking, specially when classical music is playing.
A wooden brush: I am new to this, but I just bought my first wooden brush. They look so vintage and I am always open to try new things like this. I have long curly hair, so I hope this brush helps with detangling my hair.
Start a cookbook: right now I am slowly making a desert/cake cookbook and I am loving it so much. Fantasizing about it going from generation to generation just gives me more motivation to keep doing it.
Dressing modestly: This one is a non negotiable. It's also a religious choice. Dressing modestly will make you feel beautiful and there's a plus, almost all vintage fashion is modest. That's a win.
Red lipstick: It is such an eye turner, and sometimes it makes me feel a bit shy, but the confidence a red lip gives me is beyond imaginable.
Prayer: This is the secret to everything. Pray, pray, pray, pray. When you fall short, pray, when you are on top of the world, pray also.
Drinking Coke: Even though my country didn't sell Coke until 1977, this beverage just has that old feel, very "vintage americana". On warm summer days, Coke is the best thing ever.
Follow make up/ hair tutorials or 40s/50s routines: YouTube is full of these videos, some of them actual old tutorials from those decades.
Feel free to add more on the comments 🎀
