Hello! For this fundraiser I’m offering zines of my webcomic adaptation of The Hobbit! You can find this comic at @retellingthehobbit.

The zines are “hobbit-sized” (so they’re a bit small.) The comic is also split across multiple different zines, with each zine containing one or two chapters.

These are “prototype zines” I usually only share with my family and friends, so you should expect them to be very DIY and handmade! I don’t intend to sell ‘official’ physical copies of the comic for a while yet. Bidding starts at $20! Picture of all five zines

"Well that's just Prime."

Hi, hello, it's me, your local Hobbit eueb Humanformers stuff is still happening! I'm actually VERY excited to show some previews for my entries for this year's Represent: Humanformers of Color zine by @allsparkzines on June 6, so here's a small taste of who will be appearing in one of my pieces! Omanand 'Oma' Pillai has been told about how he bears a pretty striking resemblance to Omar, the revered Optimus of old rebellion, and he's taken it in good stride as a warrior and scholar both!

He's from Kerala, India, and a Hanuman devotee (the pendant he wears being one of Hanuman's Gada/mace), and where Umar Al-Khattab informs much of Omar's drive and fire at a young age, the same can be said for Hanuman and Oma.

(The use of Hanuman as inspiration for his characterization was adopted from @wanlingnic's version of Primal which utilizes Sun Wukong instead! I figured it would be REALLY fun to have two Optimus Primals both inspired off Asian monkey deities)

Toasty bundles are sold out, and there's only one cozy bundle left. We smashed our first stretch goal, and the next one is about to be announced. On the KS updates, I'm posting artist previews of works, so go take a look to get a feel for the project.

highest kudos: The Road(trip) to Hell is Paved With Questionable Decision Making at 103... which, yeah, it's the most accessible of them lol

highest hit one-shot: catalyst at 513-- pretty good, considering I only posted it at the end of October. Maybe cheating because it needs a sequel? But I haven't written it, so for now it remains an OS

new things I tried: I did two zines and three events (BB, Corazon Week and Fight)! They were fun, but I'll probably mostly focus on making my own stuff this next year. And I expect to mostly be hanging around the DA fandom, as opposed to OP

fic I spent the most time on: I doooon't know, but I think it was the ascent? High concept, difficult to write and wrangle into something resembling what I wanted. Good exercise, though.

fic I spent the least time on: I think it was resentment-- I do really love this one, actually, but I didn't spend too much time on it because it came together in like a day? Even the editing was quick.

favourite thing I wrote: Probably it deepens like a coastal shelf, which is an AU of someone else's fic lol, so very niche, but I loooove writing about terrible people and family drama. And I got to quote poetry. And make people cry <3

favourite thing(s) I read: I've really loved reading all of your fics that you all keep sending for BW fic comments Saturdays! And I enjoy hearing about everyone's Rooks, too <3 I don't feel it's fair to do 'best of' fics but I thought I'd pull a few that have lower interaction rates for various reasons; the BW fandom is soooo talented, though, my recommendation is to give whatever sounds interesting to you a shot!

In every other fandom I peruse I am an Old Man Yaoi enjoyer, so I also will always recommend A Reflection of Starlight (reread) for Les Mis, and, for those of you interested in OP fic, the works of spaceliquid, ArgelTal (@chaoticargeltal-- they wrote this fic based on a prompt of mine & did an incredible job!), and Harmonica_Smile/Rescue_Remedy (@chromatic-lamina) who all write beautifully <3

writing goals for 2025: Need to finish that original thing I'm working on by... August?? I should check lol. And then I need to publish as much of this DA stuff as I can that's sitting in drafts lol... will the foursome be first?? unclear

It's filled with new comics haven't been put up at all.

There is the whole company involved!! Not just about Bilbo and Thorin but they are a massive part of it!

I hope you really like it as how much hard work I've put into it.

Clown weekly check in!!!

Hello once again!!!  It's been a full week and I'm here to check up in you! How has this week been? Good, bad, or maybe it was meh. Anything fun you did? Anything less than fun? 

Question of the week:

Do you have a favorite book? If you do please tell me!!!

This is in relation to last week but I had a wonderful week! I was productive at work and hit a work-iversary so It was exciting. I also have my Zine piece finished and plan to start more projects.

In terms of favorite books, I have MANY! It's thanks to @wrathofnature XD The ones that I'm currently obsessed with are mostly webnovels but I've also been reading some older comedy books. So first of all, big obsession of mine is "Lout of the Count's Family"

It just recently got a physical English release thanks to Seven Seas! I've been reading a fan-translation of the series to keep up with the Korean fans but it's hush hush where I get my sources. The MC of this series is a classic unreliable narrator. This series also has a manhwa with gorgeous art.

Next book I'm currently reading, but need to take constant breaks because it depresses me, "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint"

This is another one where I'm reading fan-translation but it's hard to track down the translations and the English published novel is hard to find. The webcomic is wonderful but I like the written words of the series. The MC is such a sad little pookie.

Sorry I have so many novels I love. Another one is, "Scum Villain's Self Saving System"

it's a comedy BL also published by seven seas! I've actually read the series 5 times now. because the first 4 was some really broken fan-translations and then the final was the official English translation. It's so funny and insane. The tropes in it are great and I love the MC and how he's just an internet troll.

Another one I'm obsessed with is "The Third Wheel Strikes Back"

This is another special fan-translation novel so the sources are hush hush but it's a fun novel and the MC is just a guy who loves food, chilling, and learning healing magic. Somehow he forms a polycule- JK It's super cute and there's also mystery a foot.

For another one I've been really enjoying is the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

It's 40 years old at this point but MAN is it funny! It's kind of insane to see all the ideas in this book and how it inspires other big sci-fi stories.

I used to not be big on reading because I wasn't encouraged to try reading for fun as a kid. I do remember reading for assignments like "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Tangerine", and "The Hobbit" I enjoyed those immensely. I also obsessively read "Goosebumps", "Hardy Boys", and "Nancy Drew" because my child brain couldn't have enough of them. Otherwise, I've just been lurking and stalking on AO3 and fanfiction for my reading :)
