Finally decided to do a proper Ren design for Lamplight AU!

I wanted it to look a bit more fancy than your average adventurer but still keep it modest and simple. Also I made ribbons a prominent thing for Ren because I noticed how often fire is described as 'ribbons' in the fic so It's just a lil reference to that :)

Headcannon time (at this point it's not even canon I'm just having fun-) : I think of Martyn as a magpie type of person, you know he just collects things as he travels - that ribbon he once tied to his staff is a good example! It's worth nothing but looks pretty (+matches his earring) , so he decided to keep it. I drew him with with his lamp only few times but you can see how it's always there ( x , x )

Ren, while not very fond of being in a lamp, still enjoyed a bit of customization from Martyn, so when he was back in his own body he asked if he could keep the ribbon (after trying to steal it without noticing and failing) because he got attached to it - and now It's a part of his character!

Do you think whenever a villain or anyone of royal status just folds when they first meet Luigi? Imagine the Mushroom Kingdom having some diplomatic meeting or something and there are a bunch of Royals in the room, good and evil alike, and Mario and Luigi are there too cause Peach wants em to be there. Then one of the Kings sees Luigi, just sitting there kicking his legs cause his feet don't touch the ground, wide eyed puppy face and adorable moustache.

Next thing you know, every single royal in the room has their attention on the green plumber.

Actually, I think it's a slow burn every single time.

One of Luigi's most prevalent traits is his ability to slide under the radar. He's got a way about him that's like catnip to royalty and individuals of power, but only when they take a moment to examine him a little closer. He's a diamond in the rough, but the moment someone realizes how valuable that diamond is they'll go to extreme lengths to either protect it or claim it as their own.

Made this connection the other day, but why did it take me four entire years to realize that Eric was wearing The Green Shirt during Price to Play: August 12th, 1968 (with guest star Eric Burdon)??

The lack of a collar, the short row of buttons, the slightly darker complex of the shirt... This whole time, I was always bemoaning the fact that we never got to see Alan in photograph next to Eric in some of his more iconic "EB & The Animals" outfits... and it's been staring at me all this time. They are aesthetic complements always (and undeniable complements in many other ways as well)... now's a good time for a Dr Pepper.
