Here are some of the words that I found interesting from Ram V's podcast interview.

1. Whatever happens to "new" Darkseid who appeared in all-in special, that's just outside of the story. He will be not involved in this series.

(well few days ago I heard about this book and gave it a read because it's said that it's related to the new NEW GODS series, but my reaction was just WTF lol)

2. Highfather and Darkseid were the two great centers of balance in the universe, but with Darkseid gone, the balance is shattered, and the players that lurk in the shadows take advantage.

The new series will be about how to restore this broken balance.

3. Ram said when he mentioned a BLEACH character while talking about a New gods character, he did not mean that the two characters were a one-to-one match.

He said he was inspired by certain BLEACH characters as archetype while portraying New gods characters.

So, in the case of Zaraki Kenpachi, which has been likened to orion, he is this kind of almost perceived as a brute at the very beginning.

And then the more you watch the show, the more you realize that there is a complexity and a nuance to that character he's perceived of one way but in truth is actually something far more complex and there's a sense of loyalty, a sense of duty to that character that is admirable despite the fact that he's an uncoothed, mannerless brute that comes across quite unlikable at the very beginning.

(He also said a few words about Orion while telling this topic, but it wasn't easy to edit, so I left it out - you'll have to check it out for yourself. Sorry for my poor English.)

4. And about Yamamoto Shigekuni, the inspiration for Highfather, his past was this kind of young captain who would sacrifice anything to commit his duty.

If his job was to protect this place that they were living in, he would sacrifice his friends if that's what it took to protect what he was in charge of.

And we all know Izaya the wise was at one point Izaya the destroyer.

And so what are the repercussions of that?

What does it mean if you're now put in a situation where you're this old wise kind leader who has to put all of that aside and go back to being a destroyer for some reason?

5. Ram said he is also inspired by Aizen Sosuke and Komamura(I heard Aizen clearly, but Komamura not so sure) from BLEACH, and has a few other influences that he cannot reveal.

6. Scott and Barda's baby was originally going to be a boy, but when Ram was naming the baby, the pun liv free came to mind and he suggested that the baby be a girl, and everyone loved it.

(well a lot of internet fellas love her already😘)

7. Ram described Metron as a trickster god who stirs up conflict through actions such as whispering one person's words to another.

He was mentioning narayan, the trickster god of Hindu mythology, when he said this.

He also said that since Metron is connected to Source, he conveys Source's prophecies in different ways to different people to create conflict.

And he likes characters like Metron, who can't punch someone or shoot a fireball, but spins stories that may not be true.

Batman gives each of his Robins a different code to use when they’re in trouble and need immediate extraction. He promises that when they call, he’ll drop everything just to get to them, come hell or high water.

Jason, during his time with the League, shares his code with Damian, to be used “only in the direst of circumstances, when you have exhausted all other options.” He doesn’t know if Bruce will answer, given how fractured their relationship was before he died, but it is better than nothing. Every tool counts when they live such dangerous lives.

Damian uses it exactly once, and Bruce, who still feels the loss of his son like a yawning chasm in his chest, responds to it even though he knows it can’t be Jason because Jason’s dead. What he finds, instead of Jason, is a boy in League garbs, drenched in blood from the tips of his midnight-black hair to his too-small feet, with a face that Bruce sees himself and Talia in, requesting asylum from a grandfather who wishes to possess his body. Bruce doesn’t question how this boy who is so clearly his son knew the code. Talia al Ghul is resourceful and places family above all; the code is not beyond her abilities to discover, and she is not above using Bruce’s desperate love for his dead son to ensure that hers does not meet the same fate.

Bruce takes Damian in, because of course he does, and since Jason is dead he allows Damian to keep using the code. After all, it’s not like Jason is alive to use it, right? If someone uses the code, there’s no one it could be but Damian, right?

The next time the code is used, Bruce traces the location to Gotham even though Damian was supposed to be in Bludhaven visiting Dick. But whatever happened that resulted in Damian being in Gotham can wait, because he has already failed one son and he will not fail another, his son is in trouble and he needs to get to him, he needs to—

What he finds, instead of Damian, is a boy (just eighteen, too young, but also too old, but also he will always be a boy to him) in League garbs, drenched in blood from the tips of his midnight-black hair to his too-large feet (when had he gotten so big), wearing the face of his dead son.

(Who, maybe, just maybe, may no longer be so dead.)
