Portal 2 replay review: Hrmnnngggngmngm 💕💖💝💞✨❤️💗

#WPP #WPP2 #Portal #I've only just revived GLaDOS (obviously had to play at least that far lol) but like hhnnnrgng <3 <3 #The graphics! The space! The levels from Portal 1! The cutesy Aperture animations and the three(!) voice actors!#I've completely fallen in love with GLaD's P1 design but honestly what could possibly compare to her P2 design she's so pretty <3 <3 #Stepping over her corpse to wake her up I'm normal I'm fine #And that we start in Test Chamber 1 and then fast track to 19 and end up in the toxic goo ravine fjdlsakfjsdf #I'm Fine I Swear #I forgot so many little details like the floor falling out or the buzz of the portal device (don't like but! Learned a new thing! -#- If while you're carrying Wheatley and you want the buzzing to stop just ''set him down'' - since he can't be set down lol #It cancels the noise :) Much nicer on the ears)#And Wheatley's voice actor ♪ His little flusters and chuckles hehe he's quite personably #I am So excited to get to the audio commentary fdjsalkjfdsf I found it and I'm biting biting biting #I have taken so many screenshots don't even get me started #Like all told for Portal 1 I probably took what like maybe 50 total? anyway if yall want something greek-mythology inspired to read, please pick up Threads that Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou. It's a post-apocalyptic fantasy romance (soulmates!) with lots of queerness in it, inspired by various mythologies but centered around greek mythology, with a greek-coded protag & cultural elements strewn across, and written by an actual greek woman who lives in Greece. It's also the first book I see by a greek author to be written & published in English/abroad first, and to go semi-popular on western reading circles.

I saw this video on Twitter yesterday and thought I'd share, because it has something really cool about Boothill that I had never noticed before: how he handles the recoil of his pistol!

The video isn't in English, but you can get the gist of it pretty well just by watching. There are three characters so far who use guns- Bronya, Topaz, and Boothill. Bronya and Topaz, both normal humans, will get knocked backwards by the recoil. It's not by very much, but it becomes pretty noticeable when you mash the basic attack button in the overworld map. It's enough to move them over the line on the floor in the video.

Boothill on the other hand- you can see him jolt from the recoil, but he isn't actually knocked back at all! The transcript of the video mentions this being due to his cyborg body and having a better center of gravity, which is really cool! I love seeing more concrete evidence of what he gained with the loss of his human body, and how it helps him in combat and his Hunt for revenge. It kinda makes you understand more why he went through with it, and why he considers it worth the heavy price he paid.

#I don't have Topaz but I do have Boothill and Bronya #but fun coincidence: Topaz is on banner rn so I was able to try this with her aptitude showcase!#so I went into my game and actually tested this on the tiled floor of the Matrix of Prescience and the belobog showcase area #and it really is just like how it shows!#Bronya and Topaz are steadily knocked back by the recoil from their weapons but Boothill doesn't even budge #that's so cool I love that so much aaaaaaa #hsr #honkai star rail #hsr boothill #honkai star rail boothill #boothill #this part isn't super important but the twitter post is from one of my favorite boothill/henghill artists do go check them out #they just recently put a bunch of their stuff on pixiv!#including an angsty boothill gore comic which was extreeeeeeemely tasty hhhh

anon this is probably the scariest moment of my life i don’t know what kind of crazy soul connection you and i have but . um . i’m actually…. in the middle of finishing the suguru part of that series 😭 like . right now . i’ll probably post it in a couple hours. i wasn’t satisfied with the series as a whole so i kind of unofficially scrapped it, but i’ll probably still post the parts i had planned — just on their own!!! i’ll probably go back and delete the satoru part i already have posted and then repost it on its own after rewriting it too…..

anyway. sorry for letting you down anon, i’m honestly really surprised anyone remembers it :’3 but yeah!!! the summer/suguru part will be posted today, and then the autumn/shoko part some other time…… and then maybe the winter part too…………. so . i mean. i guess i technically will be finishing the series, the parts just won’t be officially connected or anything like that!! i really hope that makes sense 😭 i’m just… not suited to writing series i think . but i’m soso overjoyed that you like my sashisu!! 🥺 i actually ended up taking the ending i had planned for that series and turning it into this fic, so feel free to check it out if you’re interested <333

do you ever go do autism crazy for something you can feel it in ur chest. like it’s hard to breathe almost it’s making you gasp for breath and jump around physically. got an adrenaline rush thinking abt Kirigiri.

I LOVE HER SM AUTISM WOMAN.#I go insane thinking abt her and her life and how she develops in THH and past it #and how Makoto and her literally bring out the best AND worst in each other #and her narrative parallels w Byakuya. the way they’re so similar that they’re hypocrites for disliking each other #at first and then the way they’re indispensable in that they’re they only other one that Understands why they’re like that #I cannot word my thoughts for her nearly as coherently unfortunately so no paragraphs tonight. I’m just going to start growling like a dog #the way she fucking commands so much respect and control and how strong she is #and the fact that she is constantly reinforcing that strength by shoring up any weakness or vulnerability with terrifying effectiveness #that leaves her invulnerable but completely alone. and for a long time that seemed like a good thing #and she may even believe it is #but you hear the way she talks about her father and you realize she’s HUMAN. she doesn’t want to be an island all the time.#she has emotions just like anyone else and being viewed as though she doesn’t is incredibly alienating and reinforces her isolation #if she really didn’t care she wouldn’t still be mad that her father left her alone. it wouldn’t still pick at her the way it does #it wouldn’t drive her to abandon the entire purpose of her family by revealing herself as the Ultimate Detective in order to get to him #and then there’s Makoto and Byakuya challenging those aspects of her all over again #Byakuya sees the worst of her. he believes what she puts forth as herself and sees that ruthless cold efficiency #and he isn’t wrong to believe those things. as much as she wears a mask it isn’t fake that she has those qualities #but then comes Makoto who doesn’t see through her mask either but chooses to believe she must be human somewhere even if he’s not sure #he continues to trust her with absolutely no reason to and it feeds into her own ruthless efficiency by making him her Guinea out of sorts #but it also means there’s someone on the shoreline of her island. they want to come in. Will she let them?#that island is painful but not more painful than being vulnerable.#hhhh #I’m crazy

hot take but. oda is honestly one of the most interesting prominent side characters in y0 to me. like. don’t get me wrong obviously i don’t condone his actions, but speaking as a character design guy, i think he’s got a whole lot of complexity to think about in his story and identity that people tend to ignore/overlook because he’s not a black and white “good” person. like no shit he’s morally fucked, that doesn’t mean his intense pining and crazed level of dedication to tachibana and the lengths all his guilt and repressed love for the man he saw as the best thing to ever grace his life drove him to aren’t interesting to think about– if anything it makes him more interesting. he was. really something

#people like to joke about wanting problematic queer rep instead of just good upstanding citizens all the time but then you get someone like #oda and suddenly all nuance dissappears and liking him as a character (for being a well-made character I mean) is equated to #condoning sex trafficking. like. no that’s not how that works #though I do think- regardless of him being a shitty dude- he does count as a victim of burying your gays #but that’s less about his death being narratively a bad choice and more that there could’ve been more queer rep amongst prominent characters #to balance it out (who don’t die)#though idk I’m always a little put off by the all too common Gay Chracter Dies For Their Tragic Love Interest trope #because it’s. too common. and depressing. but again I think it could’ve been balanced out if someone else was prominent and #canonically queer (also thinking like. nishitani seemed pretty close to canonically bi but. he. also died. so)#anyway. yeah on the other hand im glad they didn’t sugarcoat or morally sanitize him as a character for the sake of his queerness though #I would’ve really liked to have seen more on tachibana’s side about what he thought of oda and their relationship in general- cause they #knew each other for quite a while and were undeniably close. even lived together and whatnot. and all tachibana really got to say when he #found out oda was probably dead was just. well just that. that he’s probably dead. I feel like he should’ve gotten to be more shook by that #and/or more deeply conflicted and pained by the combination of his potential death for makotos safety and his responsibility for #trafficking her in the first place. that’s. such a deep well of complicated emotions to sort out and they really did absolutely nothing #with it. like. it makes me wanna write something that’s how much is There that was unused. so much with that relationship in general really.#hhhh….. anyway I should shut up now #jun oda #oda #yakuza #yakuza 0 #rgg #rgg0 #rambling #oh yeah also. hating him is understandable but you have to then apply the same judgement to all characters who have done some real shitty #stuff in their pasts to get by- which is quite a few characters- including lee who’s far more liked and was a literal hitman #(saying that as someone who also likes him as a character quite a bit and Likes that he’s in a moral grey zone) so. yeah.#yakuza 0 spoilers
