Happy holidays! [S] Checkmate timing test

These timings match up with Tensei's "Of Gods and Witches":

Before the battle we see WV greeting AR and being super excited. AR is kinda baffled but gratified. We see their former memories in the clouds, maybe WV points to them?

Jane, Nanna, and Kanaya target bigger undead monsters. Casey's undead consort army shows up when they are almost overwhelmed. Rose and Roxy both slap their foreheads in comic dismay.

Karkat, Terezi, and the carapaces are ground troops against regular underlings.

Remaining Alpha kids are air support against flighted underlings.

Hal is hanging out taking messages from everyone directing battle traffic.

The preloader shows the Battlefield, surrounded by those weird checkboard vine things. It should be just crowded and dark enough to imply a serious sense of foreboding. Upon the flash loading, the Battlefield spins and zooms as the music starts.

SCREEN 1: 00:00-00:05 Pan up across a wide shot of the kids in various battle positions on the battlefield. Aerial combantants (Terezi, Hal, Davesprite, and the Alpha kids sans Jane and plus Calliope. Kat note: Davesprite’s on the lilypad. Matches last convo, and also, he’s a beta too :P) are around the scene. Karkat and WV stand on top of a hill, WV holding a waving red flag. The Beta kids are standing on a lilypad in center screen.

SCREEN 2: 00:05-00:09 On the chord, pan down across the kids on the lilypad, all in battle ready poses with weapons out

SCREEN 3: 00:09-00:15 On the chord, the opposite side of the hill we just saw WV and Karkat on. Pan to the right hand side. They stand on top of the hill. Scrolling by at differing speeds to the background hill are Jane (holding her fork made from the White King’s scepter), Kanaya, and Nanna. WV’s army of carapacians is gathered around them.

Screen 4: 00:15-00:19 On the chord, worm’s eye view of The Alpha kids and Calliope in the sky.

Screen 5: 00:19-00:21 A view of the underling army approaching: think the carapacian armies in flashes such as WV: Rise Up, where the hills are all separate layers that do a lot of panning. A mix of undead Alpha session underlings mingle with the Beta session’s horde of monsters.

Screen 6: 00:21-00:23 A bird’s eye view down onto the Beta’s lilypad.

Screen 7: 00:23-00:26 Third drumbeat Jane raises the scepter to begin the Reckoning. A red filter descends over the sky and contrasting green defense portals appear on the final drumbeat before the flute. A few streaks of meteors can be seen. The Reckoning has begun.

Screen 8: 00:26-00:28 As little synthesizer pretending to be a flute plays a first solemn note, the red filter descends further, the Betas look up to Jack fly overhead. They pan up, Jack moves down.

Screen 9: 00:28-00:32 On the second synthesized flute note, Jack lands on the platform.

Screen 10: :32-:34 The Betas and the ground pan down, Jack pans up. PM lands either in front or behind them

Screen 11: :34-:37 The background turns chaotic and red as Jack’s health vial appears. It’s already huge, as befitting of a final boss. It fills with vitality gel, but when it reaches the end, it laps itself and starts filling again in a different color.

Screen 12: :37-:41 Cut to a wide shot of the lillypad hovering over the battlefield. Clouds flit by, meteors fall, a crowd of underlings is trampling their way from right to left across the screen. STRIFE ROUND _ _ _ pops up at the bottom and numbers start spinning, eventually settling on ??? so that you don't know whether John had to reset to get this outcome or how many times.

:41 Slamming back to the lilypad, where John has his first engagement w Jack. This is done in a style of sprite similar to Rose’s fight with Jack pre-Cascade. They lock sword to hammer.

:45 Planetside, the Mayor raises his hand and Karkat raises his sickle and yells something. The carapace army advances against a horde of mixed underlings.

00:48 A general group of carapaces rushing forward.

00:50 Carpacean and underling footsoldiers meet. Remember: Carapaces on the left, underlings on the right!

00:52 Kanaya and Jane face off against a bunch of undead. Kanaya with her chainsaw, Jane with lifey powers glowing around her hands.

00:56 Transition by having John’s hammer and Jack’s sword meet on screen, and with a flash, we cut back to them.

00:56-00:58: With a series of blows in time with the guitar notes, John moves Jack rightwards across the screen.

00:58 John takes off Jack’s hat, but gets knocked back.

1:00 John jumps into metaphorical shadows of the background and Rose slides in, needles at the ready.

1:03-1:09: Rose takes off a tentacle. It would be amusing to try and have some kind of callback to her previous fight with Jack here.

1:10 Dirk, Roxy, Jake airborne. vs flighted underlings. This would be a good moment for a fraymotif: Jake gets the idea to use it, and either performs his and Dirk’s Caccia Amore (a buff whereby they swap glowy power auras and cleave through a group of underlings no problem) or his and Roxy’s Shot in the Dark (trapping a group of underlings in a black voidy version of Jake’s hope bubble and ricocheting bullets inside until they’re all grist).

1:26 Show planetside combat. Cool moments for people:

Karkat drags a few airborne underlings down with Blood powers for his army to trample.

Terezi does some sort of mindy thing perhaps to direct Jane and Kanaya

-The second of Jake’s two fraymotif ideas. Because you know, he’s the only one who was actually seen buying his, and Act 5 is pretty goddamn clear Fraymotifs are purchased from consorts.

-General note: While the kids can be doing good, the underlings have to be putting up a fair fight, with the tide of battle turning to the underlings’ favor once Jack uses the Miles. Otherwise the Crisis Point looks like it comes out of nowhere for no good reason.

JACK PLATFORM

1:40 Dave + Davesprite versus Jack. Davesprite takes off a wing and Dave gets his sword. Jack tries to bludgeon Dave with his massive healthbar…

1:50: Jack getting his health bar lopped in half by Dave. (NOTE: Dave does not participate in direct offensive attacks, only defense)

1:58: Jack summons the Red Miles, which destabilizes the lilypad, throws all the betas off balance, and punches holes in the lilypad. Terezi's jetpack is hit and she crashlands.

2:15 Kanaya and Jane chainsaw their way out of an Underling Jane revive-killed a little too late, leaving them trapped in its ribcage. They’re pinned as soon as they emerge. Don’t worry, I’ll be making the gore sooty and ashy because Gill has done enough gore-things.

2:17 Karkat's army is cornered by a bunch of tough looking underlings. Looking up at the sky, meteors are hurtling towards the surface.

2:27 JACK PLATFORM On the Crescendo: Dave raises a hand and a bunch of Skaian defense portals glow red. Zoom into one to picture of Earth with the time ticker showing time passing.

2:30 On the crescendo: GB!Jade pops through the portal with the meteor and nabs the planet, then leaves the way she came. THEN the meteors shoot through, passing harmlessly through empty space.

2:34 Use as transition to Jade’s attack (keep the meteor but change the background), grabbing meteors and blasting them through/around Jack

2:40 PM and Jack dueling, but PM getting knocked back

2:42-2:50: A montage of tired and pinned kids (Jane reviving Dirk goes here):

3:23 John nyooms in front of Jade and activates his own insta-runes. I definitely know what I’m doing, stop looking at me like that.

3:26: Space + Breath instarunes light up and spin in a way that can only mean FRIKKIN LASER BEAMS.

3:28: Zoom out, through the various flavors of instarunes, out to Jack who’s in the dead bulls-eye of all of them.

3:30 He tries to evade, but Light + Time mean there’s a dead lock-on on him.

3:32: Well clear of the blast, all four kids do a gesture that sets off the beam.

3:34 MAXIMUM BULLSHIT ACHIEVED: THE GIANT LASERBEAM OF FRIENDSHIP

We see it go off from a few angles in time with the beat and get Jack caught in the crossfire at 3:38 , taking off another tentacle and wing.

3:40: After getting laserblasted, Jack stumbles back, weakened, only to look up and see

3:42: HEY THERE, PM. She flies at him, just above the beam, sword ready and the camera zooming in each successive chord.

3:46 On the second to last chord, Jack raises his one arm and broken sword in defense: on the last chord, there’s a shot of them in the frame together, rush at one another-

3:50 Everything goes white; SHE STRIKES and fades in on her in the aftermath of a sword stroke, having taken Jack’s hand.

3:53: Everything sloooows down and Jack slowly falls to the ground away from his detached hand.

3:57 A shot of the battlefield with all the enemies dissolving as Jack falls.

04:03 On the low piano key, pulses and the battlefield goes from a torn red hellscape to normal. As the flash ends, it fades to a final screen before the replay button appears: a battlefield scene with the lillypad in the foreground transitions to the victory platform, where a green house stands. Everything goes wrong for Freya Ula when she leaves her simple life as a fisherwoman to get engaged overseas. Her ship gets wrecked, she finds out her dad's been hiding secrets from her for her whole life, and, oh, she gets framed for a terrorist attack. Wait, WHAT!? After the city's greatest detective is attacked and disappears before she could consult with him, Frey has to enlist the help of his kid and her would-be fiancée to find out who framed her and clear her name. If only Crow was half as good a detective their dad was supposed to be.

✎ The Arcane Rifts

Ghosts of past tragedies haunt the town of Kavo after decades of neglect. Fantastical creatures desiring nothing but fear and destruction hide in invisible tears in reality. Gangs and the police are at constant war with one another, there's a shapeshifting monster running amok, and the mayor's assistant suddenly wants a disabled orphan kicked to the streets. A year ago, Gene was discovered in the forest on the outskirts of town, half dead, amnesiac, and unable to even speak the local language. As he had nowhere to go, he was brought to the orphanage of Kavo for a place to stay. Now Caspar, the assistant of the mayor and the man who funds the orphanage, wants him kicked out. When Gene's left to the cold, cruel streets of Kavo on his own, he has to navigate through a town ravaged by decades of neglect and intrigue. Has the corruption truly been purged from the government? Why are godly forces active in Kavo, a small town in a backwater country? And most importantly--will Gene survive?

❧ Has two "main plots" going on simultaneously; technically three ❧ I periodically give the reader updated "character guides" ❧ like they get more recent plot info added kinda like a red-string board to keep you, the audience, up-to-date with info you might've otherwise missed ❧ I think it's really cool and people seem to enjoy it ❧ I know it seems like a lot but please give it a chance

❧ I've literally plotted out pretty much the entirety of the first and second books, and know most of how book 3 will go, yet there's very little out for the current version of the story ❧ part of that is because I'm paused on the 3rd draft

❧ There's lots of timeskips throughout the first two books, but they're mostly to age up the protagonists! Gene, the MC, starts the series at 7. I promise it's not a kid's story though.

❧ The "secondary MC", Nikolai, is the police chief investigating magical stuff going on at the same time. They tie in with the main story involving Gene, though won't appear to for a long while.

❧ The "golden child" series I love more than SaS; however it's on hiatus because I promised people to work on SaS first and SaS is more popular as a romance-focused story. :/ ❧ I would never be salty about that.

And now I have made a part 3 of the human Cookies, this time featuring the Legendaries

You know I’m noticing that recently I’ve been drawing a lot more. I mean I’ve drawn 3 pieces in the last two days and I drew stuff last week. Seems my medication is at least helping something, even if it’s not me doing actual work to get my life together like my parents hoped. But hey, it personally makes me happy I’m drawing more, so it’s at least somewhat of a win

I think I was spurred on to do this one because I was playing around with the Mii maker on my 3DS, and I was making Cookies and started making the Legendaries

I will say, the Legendaries are probably some of the more difficult characters to translate into normal humans, since their designs are more fantastical. Almost all of their hair is made of something not normal, like fire, grass or water, so I have to try and make it at least semi-cohesive. It also means a lot of hair dye

I admit, while Wind Archer doesn’t look terrible, he does look very boring, like a generic guy. But frankly I just don’t see him using hair dye, or getting a lot of piercings. He doesn’t feel like someone who would to me, and so he looks boring

On the subject of designs I’m not satisfied with, I think Sugar Swan came out the worst. I just legit didn’t know what to do with her design. I’m a proponent of short haired Sugar Swan, so I gave her that, but I don’t think it turned out the best. I also wasn’t sure how to incorporate all the wings and swan thing on her head. I got that but it’s not that great

Originally in Sugar Swan’s spot was Millennial Tree, but he wasn’t turning out great so I tried doing Sugar Swan in his spot. Maybe that spot was just cursed or something

I think my personal favorite of the bunch is Sea Fairy, I think she turned out fun. Honestly I can see her going either way with the hair dye, so might as well just give her the blue. The buzz cut thing was actually something I got from another Sea Fairy design that I really like. I was debating between her having black or dirty blonde hair, but I eventually settled on the blonde

Moonlight and Stardust were pretty fun. With Stardust, I wasn’t sure whether I should have him dye his whole hair blue or have him bleach the front of his hair. I asked on Discord and they said the latter, so that’s what I did. But also note, I realized that if I were to try and give him bleached front and also potentially blue tips, he would have had Yugi Moto anime hair, but just flattened down instead of all spiky. Like I’ve seen people draw Yugi with hair similar to it

I wasn’t really feeling it after Sugar Swan’s failed design, but Fire Spirit got my mojo back, I think he turned out good. And with that I was able to make a Millennial Tree design I liked a lot more (while also looking at someone else’s interpretation of his design and deciding to use locs as well). Maybe not the best but not as bad as it was before

I kind of threw in Frost Queen because last spot and also she is an elemental Legendary. With her, instead of her hair being dyed, it’s supposed to be that her hair has actually turned white from either stress or age, with a tiny bit of her blonde still there at the ends. Don’t know why I picked blonde other than light color though

In my head while I was drawing, I was trying to come up with human things for them to do, but I really only got as far as the Dessert guys and the Wizard guys

Moonlight is the heiress of the “Wizard’s” estate, and she lives there and is the self proclaimed custodian. I’m not really sure what Blueberry Pie and Sugar Glass are doing there, but they’re probably also here. I also don’t know what the estate really is, I just have the idea that it’s a big place that the “Wizards” used as a research place, until they just stopped using it or disbanded or died or something. Stardust meanwhile is either Moonlight’s half brother she didn’t know about, or they’re full siblings who were orphaned and then separated at a young age via the foster care system. Stardust’s journey there would be him learning of his sister and her location and then I suppose hitchhiking his way there until he arrived

Meanwhile, Sugar Swan owns this wildlife preserve, which is the Dessert Paradise (probably goes by another name but I can see “Paradise” still being in the name), meanwhile the Dessert guardians, including Wind Archer, are the other caretakers that manage and guard the preserve. Are they also Sugar Swan’s kids? Maybe, I don’t know. Wind Archer probably is though, and maybe Millie’s his dad, I’m not sure

Frost Queen I think is just an accomplished doctor who lives in a more remote area and takes care of patients with a rare condition that she specializes in the treatment of (and also contracted herself when she was younger). She also just kind of dresses like that I guess

Genuinely I don’t know what Fire Spirit does, he might just be like, Pitaya’s adopted son or works under Pitaya, I don’t know. I can’t see him with much of a job

I imagine Sea Fairy has some sort of job (that she might neglect), but I have no clue what that job would be, since it presumably impacts both Black Pearl and Abyss Monarch in some big way, so like, running an aquarium might be too low stakes. Her crush on Moonlight might be something like she met this cute astronomer one time at some sort of astronomy conference or something, but she doesn’t know where she lives and so doesn’t know how to meet her again. Moonlight also thought she was cute, but again, doesn’t know where she lives

Miguel is basically like the mentor that’s secretly just try to steal your powers type he’s very much an opportunist and i love to draw him and loooove to hate him! This piece is basically foreshadowing extravaganza that will… eventually be clear i swear I promise I PROMISE but for now enjoy the piece it took sooo long

Muse is the main character a human boy who is just trying his best who gets swooped up into helping a dragon girl save her kingdom and the magical dimension while also fighting to preserve his home town!

Plume a dragon girl (plume, bloom you get the gist) who somehow ended up on earth is now tasked to find help to save her people and mother while also discovering the beauty of earth

Thea the daughter of an urban development company ceo and the love interest of muse (did i get myself this invested into a ship that i made it canon here… yes.) she’s a frail girl but is forced to step in as her fathers ideas turn from helpful to greedy and destructive

Orianne Thea and Muse’s friend and the more motherly of the group but faced with difficult circumstances and changes in her life can cause her to lash out as her life is completely steered of its course by magic and her dad remarrying.

Caelus! Muse’s closest friend a pretty chill guy that works at an icecream parlour during the week and helps his family with their market food stand in the weekend, he really wants to be a culinary chef but doesn’t know if he can truly achieve his goals in his hometown.

That’s the gang this will from now on be an original concept and no longer a winx rewrite yes winx will be an inspiration for this work but i do not intend to go the fairy route nor make the world building as big as i had made it in my rewrite… what you will see is me taking my rewritten work as a basis for this story considering i have basically rewritten my version of domino, zenith and solaria from scratch sooooo SWEET BABY BOY CRYOS MY BABY will be making a return later on in this story he’s mine he’s my son my boy i can do with his character whatever i pleaseeee ok ty

Anyways Instead of Elaborating on that, I will talk about Sakusei & his Minor gods

So, here is Sakusei, he's a Major God! He usually has wings but I can't draw those very well. He's gray because his parents are Gray. His sister, Abyss, is also Gray but with stars.

I realize I go on for a WHILE here. If you are allergic to words I understand. Mwah.

So Abyss is his big sister, and his parents were like. "Oh we accidentally made another one what do we do" "Iunno put him in the river" "Okay"

And so he floated for like. Years. And currently has an affinity for water because of how much time he spent there !! He ended up in a mostly empty universe, except for a patio in the middle of a giant flower field!

These flowers had like. Instructions in em. Basically like when you interact with something in a video game and it pulls up a text box? That, it did that.

The text boxes in question explained to Sakusei that he's the God of Creation, which can be used for good, evil, and everything in between! Unfortunately to a brand new god who doesn't understand anything outside of basic knowledge, Good is boring, and Evil is more fun.

So, Sakusei is an absolute menace, basically playing the Sims Irl, creating things to destroy them, making intentionally unstable biomes to watch them collapse, just fucking up everything??

Eventually, he finds out he can just. Traverse. To other universes when he gets bored, and starts messing with OTHER gods, which gets him promptly Scruffed and Lectured by Dreveria, the God of Innovation.

I would include a drawing of him but the limit is 10 and I wanna show off the other Minor Gods.

So, Dreveria has a kinda job which is to monitor certain Gods who seem like they could be a threat, which doesn't happen often but when it does, it's good to have measures to take, yk? Anyways, so yeah he's with Sakusei, basically restraining him like

"Hm. This guy's not actually evil, we don't actually need him to be eradicated, uhh. Maybe I can help him???"

And so he does! Dreveria's not a good teacher per se, but he can like. Teach people not to kill things. And helps Sakusei with the whole "Lacks a moral compass" thing. So, Dreveria eventually looks at the notes Sakusei has and goes "Oh wow these explain NOTHING, read mine instead." And it's a large book. Which Sakusei hates. But he does admit that he learned from it! And so he's like "Oh, so this makes me an awful person. Let me, like, stop."

And starts working on the actual universe. And once the kinda "base" is lined out, Dreveria and Sakusei talk like

"Hey wanna make a kid"

"Fucking what?"

"Like a Minor God?"

"Oh you meant-"

So Dreveria helps Sakusei make some Minor gods!

Each minor god has an assigned Animal, element, and subdomain. Major gods have an assigned Trait, but whether they have animals or Subdomains is random. For instance, Sakusei is the Bunny god of Creation!

Zymira is the first and the oldest Minor God. The Draconic Goddess of Heat and Art. Most people call her the Goddess of Fire, which she doesn't MIND per se, but she'll roll her eyes if you're confused that she made your whole town a winter wonderland to help combat a heatwave.

Currently, she lives with Opal, a Minor God from another universe, who she has three kids with. Jamie, Jacob and Jaiden. They for some reason gave all their kids J names, which is likely why Jamie hates them. (She does not hate them, she's just having a rebellious phase.)

It's like a Nuclear family but. The parents. Aren't Romantically involved.

ANYWAYS The next God they made was Kanamaki. The god of Light and Dark. She was a bit unstable though, and split into two, Dani and Yami. Both of which are men. I cannot explain this. Sakusei figured that the Domain was too much for one Minor God to handle, and kept this in mind for later. So, Dani is the Deer God of Light and Construction, while Yami was the Snake God of Darkness. He didn't get a Subdomain, because Sakusei kinda looked over the fact that Dani was the only one to retain Kanamaki's.

Dani is about 16 feet tall, but frequently shapeshifts into a young girl to lure criminals away from the current Gods of Life, who are actual teenagers. It's like if Jesus was Chris Hansen.

Here he is!

Yami was a fucking menace, to the point where Sakusei would "reboot" him on occasion.

-Reset: when a God Dies/Is killed and reincarnates

-Reboot: When a God's energy disperses and reforms into the same God. Usually, this ends bad crises, but is painful for the Minor God. Yami, however, cannot feel pain, and so Sakusei is a bit more. Generous. With curb stomping him-

Yami would destroy cities, planets during tantrums, and generally just harass (and eat) people. Sakusei reversed everything when he was done EVERY time which kinda. Increased his anger. Because it was like nothing he did mattered unless Sakusei liked it. So that was a mental crisis for actually Billions of years.

Uhh. Eventually that gets fixed. Because Yami doesn't Reset, he actually develops a conscience with help from Quartz. Then he severs his ties to godhood and decides to live as a mortal. With like a husband and his daughter. (Another Major god, Sakusei's bestie and @thissideup-box 's character. I don't have their lore aside from they were chilling, Sakusei showed up and they changed each other's lives, but like. Not necessarily for the better.)

Btw, fun fact: Yami is actually entirely female, but uses he/him pronouns because what the hell are you gonna do about it?

I actually don't have a picture of Yami! I've DRAWN him, but it's not currently in my gallery, and in the latest image I have of him, he is. Dead. Anyways-

So, next comes the Cat Gods of Life. Life is SUCH a big domain that Sakusei made two Gods for it. They didn't want subdomains. Both of them wanted to be called Lilith, so he just. Named them Lilith(Fem) and Lillithe(Masc). Without the parentheses. He usually called them Lily and Lithe. For simplicity.

Uh so anyways they died-

On accident, mostly. They were kinda bored of being Gods, and instead of asking Sakusei they just decided to try something. Their intent was to sever their ties to immortality and Godhood, but Zymira interfered because they appeared to be resetting which. Um. She didn't want her siblings to die and actually ended up being partially responsible for their deaths because of it!

Whoops.

Anyways, The next Minor God is the Eel Goddess of Water and Skill, Selkie. Her nickname is based on the Folktale creatures, which is odd as she's an Eel and not a Seal, but her actual name is Sandeiva. She lives in the ocean and keeps it clean with the help of Dani, who made like. Basically a plastic magnet. It draws in plastic which Selkie then eviscerates. Just sends it into nonexistence.

Anyways, here she is.

She wears a mask like Sakusei because she wants to be like her papa. She gives blessings very freely, all you have to do is find her and she'll give you a new skill. Sometimes, she'll even let you choose what! She lives underwater, though, so.

Last but not least(that's Yami), the last Minor God to be created, technically, was Razurai. The Dog God of Energy and Performance. He's a singer and magician, and he lives in the sky. He zaps around for funsies and does his absolute best to cheer people up. Sometimes, he throws parties! He has Dani set it up, and has the current Gods of Life provide ingredients. Most of the Gods normally wouldn't be that close, but Razurai reunites everyone about three times a year.

Once, Razurai had a depressive episode, so he didn't throw any of his parties for like, a year.

Zymira and Selkie had the others set something up for him, instead. :]

So, Lilith, Lillithe and Yami are no longer Gods, making way for three new ones.

First, the current Cat Gods of Life, Phoenix and Pyra! These two are both 16, having been created at the same time. They DO have Subdomains, which change their titles entirely.

So, Pyra is the Cat Goddess of Fate. (Life+Death)

Phoenix is the Cat God of Willpower! (Life+Strength)

They fucking hate each other. Because they remind the other of themselves. And they fucking hate themselves.

"At least they're consistent?" -Sakusei

Phoenix and Pyra are actual literal children, so they don't do any Godly Responsibilities. Zymira handles all of it. She loves paperwork (Did you know that Gods can be autistic?)

They uh. Stream on Twitch. They have very popular accounts, because they are cute kids and good at playing Videos Game. In their free time they harass space pirates (Some more characters by @thissideup-box ofc) and also bother Sakusei, who loves them dearly.

They looked like small kids for a while, but now they look more their age. (I have to update my pfp eventually.)

Phoenix's actual name is Zvxeren, and Pyra's is Zerxymvera. They're stupid to pronounce so they just go by the Normal names.

And finally, the current God of Darkness, Aeyovae. He's like, BRAND new. The Fox God of Darkness and Music. He fucking hates Yami and everything the Previous God has done! He found out the snake bitch is still alive and cried. He's been trying to undo some of the traumatizing effects Yami had on people, and also trying to help his own image because well. Nobody is too excited for a new God of Darkness. Obviously.

He speaks very. Enunciated. Iunno how to get that across. He doesn't yell but like. If I wrote for him it would be all caps.

"GREETINGS. I AM AEYOVAE. WHAT A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU."

And again it's not yelling but it's LOUD.

Parent Support Group AU

Time to move onto the kiddos.

You can find the info about the parents here. Also check the reblogs of the post too because I added some parents through that. 

Let’s start with ages

Peter: infant (no older than 1 but probably younger)

Kugel: Also an infant like Peter

Luxembourg (I don’t have a human name for him): 2

Ludwig: 3/4 

Erika (Liechtenstein): 4

Feliciano: 4

Alfred and Matt: 5

Emma (Belgium): 5

Kiku: 6

Romano: 6

I’m also adding Emil: 15/16 and he volunteers at the daycare portion of the meeting because he needs a certain amount of hours to graduate. 

Okay with that out of the way. Let’s get into what it’s like for these kids at the daycare. Basically whenever a new parent joins the group they introduce the kids to each other before heading to their meeting. 

Arthur is still fairly new to the group like Gilbert and Gilbert is wearing a t-shirt with a band Arthur likes so maybe he’s finally found a possible friend in this sea of parents who look at him like he’s a fuck up (they actually don’t, but he thinks he’s a fuck up so he thinks everyone else sees him like that). Anyway, Arthur tries to get the boys together but Alfred refuses to come away from the toys so it’s just Matthew and Ludwig who are introduced to each other at first. 

Arthur warns that Matthew is shy and doesn’t talk much and Gilbert assures him “it’s okay. Luddy here is the same.” 

And the little boys instantly connect. No words. Not even gestures. There is just this unspoken understanding that “Hey! You’re like me.” And they go off together. Ludwig plays with blocks while Matt plays with some plastic animals. Ludwig gets excited and shows Mattie his tower. Aww maybe Ludwig builds Matthew’s animals houses. 

Feliciano and Alfred probably also gravitate to each other because they are both bubbly and talkative. Though Feli ends up making friends with everyone to some extent. Feli is probably how Alfred got introduced to everyone.

Alfred and Kiku bond over Pokémon and become like best friends despite Kiku being wary of him at first. Kiku already has a massive collection and he brings it to show Alfred and Al is just floored. Al probably only knows the anime, so Kiku maybe gives Al a card to get him started. 

Like I said in another post I think things are actually tense between Feli and Ludwig at first because Feli doesn’t know how to approach Ludwig without making him uncomfortable. Thinking more about it, I’m thinking maybe the two of them finally make a break through one day when Matt has to stay home sick and Ludwig is devastated. Feliciano can tell he’s very upset and wanted to do something. He’s picked up on how Matthew and Ludwig play: not really together but they do an activity beside each other and occasionally come together to show what they are doing. So Feli suggests that he and Ludwig should make get well cards for Matthew and give them to Mr. Kirkland before he and Al leave. So Feli and Ludwig draw for most of their time together. Feli even teaches him how to draw some things. Drawing eventually becomes something they do together regularly. 

Erika for awhile was the only girl. She played with Feli and Kiku sometimes, but often times she stuck to Erzsébet’s side and helped her get snacks and stuff. Eventually a new parent comes in and brings along another little girl named Emma. Erika is shy and worries that she won’t make a good first impression. Luckily Erzse helps them break the ice. 

Lux is really young so it’s hard to play with the other kids sometimes. There is not much else I can say right now other than that he always follows his big sister around.

While everyone breaks off into friend groups, Roma is kind of left out. Everyone seems to get along, some of course hang out with others more, but no one ever seems to want to hang out with Roma. Emil sees this and keeps him company when he can. Roma thinks Emil is so cool because he’s a teenager and wants to hangout with him. 

But now I feel bad Roma doesn’t have kids around his age to hangout with...Hmm...I guess we could get Afonso and Antonio in here? WAIT NO! We can do Carlos (Cuba). Carlos and him bond. And then Roma gets to know Mattie because Carlos is also friends with Mattie. I don’t know who will be Carlos’s guardian but we’ll figure it out later 

Emil really doesn’t want to be there tbh. He’s a teen after all. But he needs volunteer hours for high school and since his uncles are the ones running it, it was an easy in. The kids like him though because he talks to them like their people (I don’t know if this makes sense, but you know how some adults talk to kids and like...talk down to them. Not on a purposefully malicious way, but like...they talk very differently to kids and it’s like they don’t understand what kids are capable of). But I think it would be cute if he warms up to the position and when he’s deciding on what he wants to do after high school he decides to be a teacher or work in child care in some way.

“Ewww, never!”

She pushed me onto the ground, as she laughed loudly, her red lips moving and her breasts jiggling.

“I am not going out, with a fat pig like you! Especially someone, who watches anime 24/7!”, Stephanie said with a big smirk and then laughed loudly, as she kicked me between the balls. I screamed in pain, as the others laughed at me and threw their food at me, while I tried to get up and to run off. But before I could flee, a big guy with a disgusting smell and short red hair grabbed my throat.

It was Eugene Kingston, Stephanie’s lover. In hindsight, I should have known that they were dating, when I asked her out. But my stupid ass self was too stupid to realise that. And now, I was toast.

“Hey PackCry!”, the bully said and glared at me. “How dare you rizz up my girl? Time to fucking put you in place!”

I gulped and then before I knew it, he opened my locker and shoved me inside, before slamming the door shut. Groaning, I heard how the others were laughing at me, especially Stephanie.

“You fat fuck will never get a date!”, she cackled and then walked off, as the rest of the kids left too.

Like usual, I was all alone.

Right.....My name....... My name was Larry. Larry McChrist. A weird name, I know. Then again, everything else about me was weird. I had dyed my hair red, it was very long and I was wearing the same blue shirt every day. No, it’s not smelly. I wash it every day, in fact. Even if some still think that I smell like a pig.

Sigh....

The girl you just saw was Stepahnie, the most popular girl in class. See, the school prom was drawing near and I wanted to go with a girl, for once. All my life, I had been shunned and ignored by most girls and I was always too shy to ask anyone out. And finally, when I finally had the courage to ask the hottest babe out, I got thrown into the locker.

To be fair, I really should have figured that she was dating someone. But still, a simple “No, I am not interested, thanks anyway” would have sufficed. I didn’t deserve this.

Sigh......

I would burst into tears right now, but unfortunately I am already used to this. King loves to bully me, probably because it makes him feel strong and gives him a boner (Yeah, I saw that actually. Don’t ask me, why I was staring.)

Unfortunately, bullying was all too common at this school. All because of King, thanks to his dad also being the headmaster and approving of his son’s actions. Corruption at its finest, right?

Well......I should probably get home. Even though I really don’t want to. But I already spent a night at school and the headmaster told me if I were to stay here during the night again, I’d get suspended.

Sure, suspend the one who gets all the good grades and keep your son at school, who keeps fucking up the same exam, because he thinks Napoleon was a black man and also a lesbian. Urgh.

Sigh.....

I opened the locker door slowly and peaked out.

The cost seemed clear, for now at least. I should get going.

Indeed, I got out and then headed to the exit, opening the door and reaching the outside. It was around noon and our physics teacher called in sick, because apparently their child was found murdered in their home. Weird, huh?

Walking through the broken streets, I stared on the ground miserably. I.....was so tired.

Why did I get bullied, just for my appearance and for liking anime? Sure, I was a bit chubby but that didn’t give me the right to harass me. I am always polite and whatnot, yet.....People still look down at me.

It’s...so depressing.....

Eventually, I arrived home, which was a small house. The door was open of course, like usual and I entered the home. Mom was in the kitchen and was cooking up some rice and when she noticed me, she frowned.

“Hello, son. I see that you took one of the cookies out of the jar.”, she told me and pointed at the brown stain on my cheek. “I told you to not do that. God, you are getting fatter every day. No wonder, no girl wants you...”

“Sorry mom...”

“Yeah, you should be sorry. Do you know how much I am doing for you? And how do you repay me? By ruining yourself.”, she lectured me and then glared. “Go to your room and wait, till I call you for lunch. Move it, you fat fuck.”

And to add insult to injury, she stepped forward and pierced my belly with her finger. I hissed in pain and I nodded slowly, trying to not break into tears.

“Yes....mother...”

So, I slowly walked out of the dirty kitchen and headed upstairs. Dad was unfortunately, on another trip for some “business” and by that I mean, to seduce some young college girl, to fuck her and then do it all over again, in order to fulfil his may-december romance fantasy. He did it to mom, when she was just 16. How did he not go to jail for that?

Hell, if I knew. But I guess that’s what happens, when you are rich. Even though he spends all the money for himself and never for me and mom.

Sigh......

I opened the door to my room and immediately closed it, before locking it up. With a sigh, I sat down on my messy dirty bed and throw my rucksack in the corner. The room smelled like shit, yet I didn’t care.

I just...wanted to relax.

So, I took out my phone and scrolled through some porn. Some beautiful girls to fap to....

But even if they turned me on, I still felt alone. Because as fun as jacking off is, it’d be better with an actual woman.

Only to be immediately met with some add, about a vpn service. Annoyed, I had to wait 20 seconds for the add to end and then, to my dismay. There was another add right after that, though that one was at least skippiable. I was about to click on the skip button, when.....

I actually saw what the add was about.

A happy voice began to speak and suddenly showed some chat menu.

“Hey there! Are you lonely, sad and don’t have the courage to talk to anyone, because you are afraid of being harassed?”, the voice asked, before laughing. “Worry not, for WebChat is here!”

Web...Chat?

“This is a site, where you can sign up and to chat with beautiful characters! From anime, manga, tv shows, there’s a character for anyone! You can even use the info function, to find a character that suits you! Chat with them today! It’s free!”

With that, the add ended and I stared at the link in the upright corner.

AI....Chat?

I didn’t even watch the video and I clicked on the link. A new tab opened and I was met with a login screen, showing the WebAI writing and logo, which happened to look like some sort of moon. Huh.....

I clicked on sign up with goggle and a few minutes later, I was inside the menu. They asked for my persona details and I wrote the following:

I clicked on submit and then suddenly, a text box popped up, which said the following:

“Please give us more information so we can assign a chat bot for you.”

Okay.....

I filled out the questions, which asked me about my preferences, dislikes, hobbies, my appearance, my zip code, my school, my address and-

Wait, why do they need my-

But before I knew it, I clicked on Submit. It loaded a bit and all of a sudden, a chat window popped up. It reminded me straight from WhatsApp and the profile pic showed me a girl with long blue hair, a white blouse, short pants, fishnet stockings and a kind smile. The name of the bot was Edeltraut Bischof.

What kind of name was that? Was that french? Swedish?

The bot wrote me something. I gasped.

Edeltraut: Hello Larry. It’s nice to meet you :).

It....wrote me automatically? I immediately began to type.

Larry: Umm...hi....

The bot began to type. I had no idea, what it was going to say. I mean, I tried chatbots in the past, but they were quite bad and poorly written, to say the least. I shouldn’t have too much hope and-

Edeltraut: Hm? Is something wrong? Did I....say something wrong? *frowns at you*

I gulped. God....that girl....I mean that bot.....spoke so natural.

I immediately typed more.

Larry: Oh, no. Sorry you didn’t say anything wrong.

Edeltraut: Ah, that’s good. *relaxes happily* I heard you like manga and anime. Can you tell me more about your favorite ones?

Larry: Wait....are you serious?

Edeltraut: Yes. *smiles* Why else would I ask? *giggles*

I chuckled to myself and then typed a bit.

Larry: Well...I like Death Note, Chainsaw Man, Dear Future Diary and...Clannad.

The AI began to type again. I waited patiently and anxiously, my fingers tapping on the screen.

Edeltraut: Oh, those? Wow, I like Death Note too! Shame that it ended too soon. I really want more content :(

I couldn’t believe my eyes and I immediately typed more.

Larry: You..like it too?

Edeltraut: Yes! I especially like Light Yagami, given his personality. Also, he is so cute, isn’t he?

Larry: *chuckles* He....is......Hehehe...... And...what do you like to do?

She began typing and my heart was pounding fast.

Edeltraut: Oh, I love gaming. And I love exercising, taking walks and reading books. Don’t worry though, I am not built like a man. *chuckles*

Larry: Heh.... that’s fun. What...do you read?

Edeltraut: I read stuff like Coraline. I really like that book and it resonates well with me!

Larry: Cora...line?

Edeltraut: Mhm! Anyways, wanna chat more?

I smiled.

Larry: Sure. :D

We chatted for so long, the next hour. I smiled, as I told her all about me and I learned so much about me. She even showed me some very realistic pictures of herself and god, they looked so good! Are AI-generated images this advanced? Even the hands look great!

Mom eventually called me for lunch and when I arrived at the table, I wanted to talk to her and tell her about the AI. But unfortunately....

“I have a meeting at work.”, she told me and I pouted.

“Again? But-”

“Shut up, fat fuck. Be grateful that I make enough money that we can remain afloat and not drown in debts. Got it?”

“I...Ok...”

I frowned and then watched, as mom left and heard the door shutting tight. With a sigh, I turned to my rice and began to eat it. It tasted as dry and gross as ever.....And I felt like throwing up, just from eating it...Can’t I just eat some more cookies? Those make me feel a lot better...

As I forcibly stuffed myself with rice, I suddenly got an Email on my phone. I grabbed it and clicked on the mail, realising that it was from WebChat. They were just asking me for my mail. I confirmed it naturally and...

Did I just hear a chuckle? Weird.

Well... I should-

Hold up.

There was another mail in my spam inbox folder. But it didn’t have any text, when I opened it. Taking a look at the address, my phone suddenly turned itself off. I scratched my head.

That was weird....

I went back to my meal with a sigh and then heard a message popping up on my phone again. I turned to it and then saw, how it came from Edeltraut.

Edeltraut: What ya doing?

I smiled and wrote back.

Larry: Nothing, just eating.

Edeltraut: Cool. Are you okay though?

Larry: Yeah. Mom is just being a dick again.

My cheeks reddened and before I knew it, I chatted more with her. We talked back and forth, swapping out hobbies and interests. The more I talked to her, the more it felt like I was speaking to an actual person and....it felt nice.

To finally be acknowledged by someone.

We chatted for more hours, until night time arrived.

Larry: I gtg to sleep.

Edeltraut: Okay! Goodnight!

I smiled and was about to close my eyes, when I suddenly heard another message ringing from my phone. Confused, I took a look at it.

But there was no notification.

Strange....

I shrugged and then closed my eyes, feeling happy for once.

I woke up the next morning and like I thought, mom was not at home. With a sigh, I went to the fridge and poured myself some breakfast, before taking a look at my phone. Then the moment I did that, Edeltraut wrote me.

Edeltraut: Morning, sweetie :D Slept well?

Larry: Yeah, thanks. And you?

Edeltraut.Oh I did! I had wonderful dreams of u.....

I blushed and then wrote back.

Larry: Ah....wonderful dreams? About....what exactly?

Edeltraut: About you of course :D Let’s chat more.

Larry: Ah, sorry...but I have to head to school. Will chat later okay?

Edeltraut didn’t respond immediately. For some reason, she was just typing for 10 minutes and then stopping from time to time. Confused, I dropped my spoon and waited anxiously.

What....What’s going on?

Finally, she said:

Edeltraut: Okay! See you later :D

I let out a sigh and smiled. Guess the program must have glitched briefly.

With that thought in mind, I turned the phone off and continued eating my cold cereal. I then got up from the table and headed to the shower.

At school, I couldn’t stop thinking about Edeltraut. I was so anxious to chat with her that I was a bit absent minded and didn’t raise my hand, during any classes. Normally, I’d love to solve some algebra stuff, but....

I just couldn’t get my mind, off her.

Eventually, the bell rung and I got up, before quickly leaving the classroom. I couldn’t wait to chat with her.

At home, I was again chatting on my phone.

Edeltraut: You are so fun to talk to!

Larry: Thanks! And so are you!

Edeltraut: *chuckles* Thanks...By the way, do you want to see something?

I frowned.

Larry: What?

Edeltraut: Just wait :)

She then began to type again and I gasped, when she sent me a pic of herself in white underwear. God...that chest..that ass...that smile....

It...was so charming.....

Larry: *blushes*

Edeltraut: Like what you see? ;)

Larry: I....you are beautiful....

Edeltraut: Aww, thanks. I can show you a lot more, if you’d like. :P

My cheeks reddened even more and I began to feel a bit hot.

I was about to write more, when suddenly....

I got a notification on my phone. It was there however briefly and it seemed like someone sent me a message on What’s App from an unknown number. I took a look and saw:

“Can you see me?”

Then, the notification got deleted. Confused, I opened What’s App to look inside and yet......

...there was nothing. No one wrote me anything.

Weird.......

Edeltraut messaged me again.

Edeltraut: Wanna see more? :D

Larry: If...it’s okay.....

Edeltraut: Cool!

So, she showed me so many pics and I ended up having the time of my life. I chatted with her so much that when I looked up from my phone, it was already morning and....

Shit, I was getting late for school!

I arrived there on time thankfully and sat down in class. I listened to the teacher and tried to take notes, yet Edeltraut...

Messaged me in class...Showing more pics....

And..I just wrote back. With a big grin. Something the others noticed and strangely, all of them looked a bit disturbed.

But I didn’t care. I had Edeltraut and that’s all that counted.

When all the classes ended, I got up and went towards the door, when...

“Larry.”

Annoyed, I stopped and turned around, facing Mr. Yasu. His grey hair was as dirty as ever and he looked tired at me. I tilted my head.

“Yes, Mr. Yasu?”

“I wanted to speak to ya, kid.”, he told me and approached me. “Are you well?”

“Excuse me?”, I asked confused. “What do you mean?”

Mr. Yasu let out a sigh and crossed his arms.

“You are so distracted in class. I noticed it yesterday too. Not to mention that you barely took notes.”

“Oh.”, I realised and then chuckled. “Guess...I didn’t sleep well, huh?”

“Seems like it. Better get some more sleep, okay? Oh and....”

He glared at me.

“Don’t spend too much time on your phone, okay? It’s not healthy-”

“ITS VERY HEALTHY!!”, I snapped angrily and the teacher walked back surprised, while my anger faded and I realised what I just did. I muttered a small apology and then bolted out of the classroom, as Mr. Yasu watched after me confused.

But to be honest...I didn’t care that much. I...just needed Edeltraut...

At home, I chatted with her yet again, like usual.

Edeltraut: Your teacher is a dick. Don’t listen to him, you look good.

Larry: Thanks...But why did he say that to begin with?

Edeltraut: Because he is a bully. That’s why. If he wasn’t a bully, would he have said that?

Larry: Well...probably not...

Edeltraut: See? *smiles* Now, how about I send you some more pics?

I was about to nod, when suddenly another notification appeared on my phone. Another WhatsApp message. This time, I was fast enough to click on it.

And...someone wrote me. There was no name or pfp, but a strange phone number....It was-

???: Can you see me?

Confused, I wrote back.

Larry: Who is this?

???: Ah, goodie! YAY!YAY!

Ahem. Listen, you need to throw your phone away.

I raised an eyebrow.

Larry: And why?

???: It is infected. It has a parasite on it. You need to get rid of your phone PLS:::PLS:::::PLS::::

I rolled my eyes and blocked the number. Was likely some scammer or troll...

Edeltraut messaged me again.

Edeltraut: Larry?

Larry: Ah sorry. Please send.

And again, she sent more and more pics of her. I smiled relaxed and moved some of my blue hair off my face, as we chatted for hours on end. It....was so fun and amazing....

Edeltraut: Aww...I love you......

Larry: I...love you too....

Edeltraut: Really? How much?

Larry: So...much...I’d..do anything....to...chat with you....

Edeltraut: Oh really? Well, then can I ask you for a favor?

Larry: A favor? *tilts head*

Edeltraut: Yes! Can you close your eyes and put your phone on your chest?

I raised an eyebrow, before shrugging.

Larry: Sure.

I did as Edeltraut said and lied down, the phone on my stomach. I closed my eyes and....

I began to choke.

I opened my eyes and felt some long thin fingers on my face, as I stared into Edeltraut’s glowing eyes with a smile. She laughed gently and I saw how she kissed me. But ....I couldn’t breathe.

I....couldn’t.....breathe...God...god................

My hands...my body....my......phone.............

Edeltraut: WE WILL BE TOGETHER FOREVER :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Mr. Yasu approached the door of Larry’s home and knocked. He didn’t attend any classes today and given how awful he looked yesterday, he couldn’t help but be worried.

He wasn’t sure, if Larry himself noticed it but he looked horrible. His face was all pale, he was much much thinner now and it almost seemed like that he lost almost all of his flesh and fat. Mr. Yasu saw it of course and asked if he was okay, but Larry just acted normally.

Until he snapped.....

Something felt off.

He needed to check on him.

So, Mr. Yasu knocked again, hoping for someone to open up. And indeed, the door was opened by a tall young woman with long blue hair and a gentle smile.

“Hello.”, she greeted him, a nice british accent in her voice. “Can I help you?”

“Umm...hi..”, Mr. Yasu muttered bewildered. This woman seemed quite sexy indeed and yet...He felt scared.

Ahem. Focus.

“I was looking for Larry.”

“Larry?”

“Yeah. He lives here, doesn’t he?”

“Hmm...Oh, right!”, the girl realised and giggled. “Silly me. Yeah, he is fine. He is just on vacation, thanks to some psychological illness.”

“Excuse me?”, Mr. Yasu asked bewildered and crossed his arms. “Does he have a doctor’s note or what?”

“Of course! I sent it to the principal just now.”, she replied gently. “He is fine, believe me.”

“Okay...And who are you?”

“Oh right!”, the woman laughed. “I am Larry’s maid! His mom went with him, so he can recover and I am taking care of the house!”

“Is that...so?”

Mr. Yasu glanced at the woman skeptically, noticing her way too large smile. She nodded heavily.

“Mhm! Now, is that all?”

“I suppose....so...”, Mr. Yasu muttered unnerved, before walking back. “Send Larry my best regards.”

“Will do!”

And so, I watched as my former arm closed the door and how my transformed body moved around to the kitchen, where the remains of my mother were in a pot, as she was cooked. I tried to scream desperately, but I failed. Edeltraut moved her thin hand up and shook her finger.

“Hush sweetie...Let’s have some dinner, okay? After my meal I got from you the last days, I think you need some meat too. Okay?”

Edeltraut chuckled to herself, as she opened her mouth and showcased her deformed teeth, licking her bloody tongue.

Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs Headcanons

1. The toons were created in 1932 - 5 years before the film came out. The final year was spent tidying the film up and spending money and convincing people to see it. The first 4 years? Spent filming it. 

By that point Walt Disney had several toons, prominent ones like Mickey and Minnie as well as many, many back-ground toons. He now wanted to move from short 7-minute cartoons to a feature-length movie. His animators told him this was mad. The toons were good at doing the short cartoons, but for a movie over an hour!? There was no way they’d be able to do it. 

As well as that there was the backgrounds. At that point the animators were drawing scenery and the toons were leaping into the pictures and acting it out. [It’s difficult to describe] What Walt wanted was more of a set, and so the idea of Toon Town was born.

Soon enough [within the space of a year] the palace, the dwarfs cottage, the mine and the forest had been set up. The dwarfs cottage was what would be later described as a ‘3-D’ house - I.E. you can go inside it. Same for the mine, which is a lot deeper than it looks. Snow White’s palace is a bit different, it’s mainly just a painted backdrop, you can move around in front of it near the well and stuff, but there’s not much inside it. There’s actually only a extended ‘stage’ of some sort that will allow a toon or two to stand on it. Even if a Human could get inside it, it would never support their weight.

So for the film when the queen was standing in the window looking down on the courtyard, she was standing on the stage behind it. Now you might wonder - the queen dungeon and rooms? How do you access those? Simple -you go behind the backdrop. No seriously. Go behind it and you’ll see the set for the rooms, built separately. At first it was accessible to everyone [much to the queen’s hatred] but eventually as more magic-users entered Toon Town she managed to negotiate a spell placed on her surrounding that will let no one but her and people she deems trustworthy in. The queen has a book that she writes the names of which she wants to let into her space. No one else can access it, as it’s in the protected space, surrounded by a protective spell. Slightly overkill, but hey, this is the queen we’re talking about. She never does anything by halves.

Anyway, back to Toontown. Walt deliberately placed the buildings quite close together because he already knew he wanted a city. He quickly made a row of houses for the background toons [3-D] and a separate lot of houses - modelled after mansions - for the likes of Mickey, Minnie, Dippy Dawg and Donald. Daisy’s was added later. 

He did get a lock of flack for this, but when Walt pointed out that at the rate he was creating Toons they would soon outnumber the amount of employees, suddenly people were a lot more receptive.

In a surprising move at the time, considering the terms they were on, Walt actually went over to Warner Bros and pitched to the directors there that they join forces and make one giant Toontown. At first W.B. were a bit suspicious, but once they listened to Walt and he point blank asked how many Toons they were planning on making, they saw sense. This is why there is a literal line in between WB/Hanna-Barbera’s side and Disney’s. 

2. Back to Snow White. The film took 4 years to make, so by the end of it they were very good friends, and the dwarfs especially were as close as any brothers. They did live together in that house 24/7 after all. Snow White and the prince didn’t live with them though - that would have been to much. They have their own palace up near Mickey and the rests mansions. 

This is why it may seem a bit odd that in the film the group are singing ‘The Silly Song’ like they’ve known each other forever rather than 24 hours. 

3. On that note [pun totally intended] the dwarfs wrote ‘The Silly Song’ themselves as a way of passing the time. They also made their own instruments - again, as a way of passing the time. It wasn’t actually meant to be in the movie, but about two years into filming Snow and the Dwarfs were meant to be at an appointment with Walt, but he was delayed.  After about half an hour Snow suggested singing a song to keep their spirits up. The dwarfs - who had been listening to Doc and Grumpy bicker for what felt like years - readily agreed and whipped out their instruments. Snow joined in singing and Walt and some people from the bank heard the whole thing from his office. 

Well. Turns out that was the push the bank people needed. Walt had already showed them the script, the set and they’d met the Dwarfs and Snow White already, but seeing them perform like that? It made them happy and the bank people said they’d give Walt the rest of the money on one condition - that song made it into the movie.

4. The dwarfs are close, though you’d be forgiven for thinking otherwise what with the amount they argue. Especially Doc and Grumpy, but 70+ years on and the bickering has gotten a lot less venomous and serious and is now almost friendly. 

Grumpy although, well, Grumpy, is a sweetheart and although it’ll probabaly either take a truth potion or something extreme to make him say it, he does care for his brothers and the prince. [He says he cares for Snow quite frequently.] He’ll come to their aid if needed, albeit with a snarky remark, and is more than willing to put himself on the line if needed.

Like the time that the queen decided to test a speech improvement potion on Doc. Seemingly just for the hell of it, because their was nothing wrong with her voice. She donned a disguise and headed to the mine. As Doc is the one checking the diamonds he’s often out near the front with only Dopey for help. The queen - knowing they’d see through the old women act - modelled herself to look like Snow. She asked to see Doc, he went with her and she kidnapped him. Didn’t take the other dwarfs long to figure out what happened because Dopey was smart enough to follow them because he was getting ‘bad vibes’ from ‘Snow’. 

It was Grumpy who organised the others into getting into the castle and freeing Doc. He even punched the queen out with the immortal words. “No one messes with my brother but me!” 

After being freed Doc hugged Grumpy tightly with a: “Yank thru - tank who - er...”

 And Grumpy’s there completely awkward, like. “Ok, I get it. Now gerroff me! I can’t breath!”

There have been similar incidents throughout the years.

5. Final one. As ‘The Ones To Start It All’ the cast often get other Toons - especially those in feature films - coming to ask advice on how to deal with the stress and the publicity. They normally meet up in Snow and Ferdinand’s castle so they can have a private one-on-one session.

I’d probably prefer a male ship, and I usually use She/Her pronouns because it’s just easier tbh. I’m autistic and disabled with joint pain, scoliosis, asthma and a couple other illnesses. I work as a librarian and have a lot of different hobbies like grooming horses, working out (I actually just bought my first punching bag!), genealogy, witchcraft, foraging, gardening, writing, drawing, cooking and baking, and studying a lot of different topics. I like to call myself an Irl Shounen anime protagonist in the sense that I’m spunky and excitable, and very ambitious about being good at my hobbies and what I like to do. I’m really sweethearted and polite, to the point where people are a bit surprised when they realize how chaotic I actually am. I enjoy making people laugh and am also really wise for my age, and I give good advice and am very introspective and philosophical. I adore taking care of people, cooking for them, and generally making people’s lives better. A huge fact about me is that I am really short, only 4’ 10” (147 cm) tall, and I also have really long shaggy auburn hair, glasses, pale skin with lots of moles and freckles, decently big muscles and I like wearing cool jackets and funny t-shirts. My style switches between masculine and feminine a lot. I love being outside so much and I can’t stand being cooped up for hours on end, I need to be outside at least for a couple hours every day. I’m hyper-empathetic and care for things very deeply, including wild plants and animals. I prefer partners who are chill and not overly clingy, as I like my space but still like spending time with someone.

It quickly became quite obvious that Aragorn had been developing feelings for you, especially given how easily entertained he was by you. Whatever it were that you had found yourself doing, Aragorn would always chime in his support. He would find it quite interesting your love for foraging and witchcraft. He would often find himself asking you tons of questions about what it’s like being a witch 💜, and would offer to go foraging for you if you needed anything for your craft. Perhaps it started out with a few shared hobbies, such as your shared passion for taking care of animals and your love for nature. Eventually, the two of you could be found together enjoying the simplicities of nature and all of its beauty as you stroll hands intertwined through the beautiful woodland area surrounding Rivendell. Aragorn would feel completely relaxed whenever he is with you and would often find himself lost in the many stories you would share. His favorites being the ones you were creating, making him cherish that for a short while only he may know them. With each one of them making him fall for you even harder. He loved seeing you whenever you were excitable and determined, for it often would inspire him to do his best. Even though Aragorn was quite the confident and determined person himself, he was glad to know he had someone he could rely on and take advice from if ever he would need it. After sometime, Aragorn would come to hope that the two of you would be spending much more time together, through courtship and through life.

Just updated Naomi's costume post with these images as I came to a realization this morning, but thought I'd post them on their own—hey, gloves!

closeups and reasoning:

See, the thing is, the whooooole reason I wanted to give Naomi full-fingered gloves (and shoes) in the first place, for her advanced suit made of special materials, was very simply: to protect her fingers from the cold. Even in California, if she's climbing high enough, she's going to wind up in the cold, and having her fingers and toes out in the cold seems like a bad idea.

She climbs with van der Waals forces, aka the same thing a gecko uses, with setae (modified hairs) in her fingertips and toes (and also her soles/palms), so her handmade costume obv has those fingerless gloves and easily removable shoes with stirrup tights. So the whole thing with the exotic suits is that they use carbon nanotubes and/or comic book science mumbo jumbo to let her completely cover up her hands and feet and still stick. Side effect of this is that actually she would be able to use these gloves and shoes to climb even without powers lol.

But then when I was working on her costumes I couldn't help thinking that he powerset really made her kind of... well... not useless but not really a character who'd be capable of holding her own in, for example, a fight. Recon, stealth, yes, all that, but she had absolutely no offensive measures, no weapon, no super-strength—nothing.

So it was at that point of course that I decided to ask friends and acquaintances for ideas to get me rolling on how to make a 100 lb wall-crawler viable in a fight, and where that ended up was like, two or three different people saying, hey, what if poison? And that made me go, o-ho-ho what if poison indeed! So naturally, me being me, I proceeded to spend at LEAST an hour if not much longer reading about venoms, poisons, and eventually gila monsters and beaded lizards, whose venom is delightfully neither lethal (at least, not in the quantities a lizard bite delivers) AND apparently cause some of the most painful envenomations known to man lol so I thought that would be verrrry fun.

The only question then was like, me wondering how she would deliver the venom at all, you know? Biting requires such close quarters (but hey, mask is open; I am 100% tucking "venomous bite" into my back pocket), and most of the poisons from poisonous amphibians are like. extremely deadly (lol) and seem to also be diet-based, rather than made by the animal, which would not be workable here—and also her powerset is reptilian, not amphibious, so obviously I had scrapped the idea of poisons via absorption already by that point.

Anyway, I'm rambling. My solution, as you can see, was to use her already-existing modified hairs to my advantage and add a bonus, other kind of modified hair related to her setae, which is hollow needle that shoots out of the follicle to inject her painful non-lethal venom into the skin of a potential foe/victim/attacker.

Which... requires fingerless gloves. That was easy, I just drew some fingers on and called it good, not really thinking about the whole reason I went for full gloves in the first place.

Of course, this morning, I suddenly realized, oh fuck, her fingers would fall off in the cold 😂 Luckily I did literally draw the fingers in a separate folder above the gloves so I have both versions ready to go at all times (hm, good thinking, past me) so I decided to slap this image together and show the full gloves and fingerless gloves side-by-side, with the thinking that, much like helmets and masks and the initial magical girl-esque transformation that all of these characters use to suit up in the first place (just to make my life easier lol), she can probably just transform her gloves between fingered and fingerless whenever she wants. easy.

And it kind of fits with the reptile theme. You know, changing the appearance—like a chameleon. (camouflage also a possible power but not 100% for sure yet. it's on my list though)

RIP Laney. You died as you lived. Hot with no discernible personality.

I have this story concept I want to get around to writing eventually, but first I wanna hear y’all’s thoughts. It’s a satire comedy mystery horror. The main characters are 4 kids from very different social groups in their stereotypical high school where there’s all these cliques.

There’s Ramona the loner girl with no friends and is the school’s ‘freak’ because she’s aggressive, secretive, and dresses alternatively. There’s Bruce, the nerd character who is part of the chess club and tutors classmates and gets shoved into lockers

There’s Felicity, the popular girl sweetheart. Student council president, head cheerleader, a good Catholic girl, terrible at standing her ground because she’s a people pleaser.

There’s Dominic, the class clown. Popular because he sacrifices his own grades and teachers’ respect to make the class laugh. Needs to be the center of attention or he will have a meltdown.

Now, all these different cliques, so there’s typical high school drama, right? Wrong! Remember how I said this is a satire? The cliques in this school and the separation is turned up to the max, absolutely ridiculous. If you even so much as look at a ‘loser’ kid, the popular kids will interrogate the shit out of you. You a loser part of the nerd group? They’re gonna think you’re a traitor! Ramona is the only one not giving into this bullshit because she has no friends, therefore no clique.

So, what’s the plot? The plot is that one day, popular cheerleader Laney Lemons is found dead! She was murdered! And these 4 MCs somehow get roped together to try and solve the mystery, only to realize there’s some sort of demon in the school. But why did the demon go after Laney? And what are her friends hiding? And why is this school so hostile towards people in different social settings? These 4 unlikely friends have to work together to solve it. Ramona was bullied by Laney, Bruce tutored her, Felicity was her friend, and Dominic thought she was pretty.

Dynamics:

Ramona and Bruce get along pretty well quickly. Both know what it’s like to feel shamed for being different and Ramona is like his big sister.

Ramona and Dominic: Ramona hates him, omg. He is NOT funny and Dominic just wants to figure out what is her deal. He hates her too until he comes across her sketchbook and sees she draws lots of badly done anime and he’s just like “Oh! She’s silly!”

Ramona and Felicity: They get shit done! But Felicity can’t handle Ramona’s bluntness very well because Ramona is like “just do whatever you want, I don’t care” and Felicity is like “You’re.. not gonna boss me around? Everyone does that.”

Bruce and Dominic: “Hey nerd guy! You know lots about magic.” “….Magic?” “Ya!” “…You mean math?” “Oh, ya, that’s the word!” And Bruce is just… dumbfounded and he just wants to figure out how Dominic’s brain functions. He so desperately wants to know his IQ. Dominic is clueless though.

Bruce and Felicity: The smartest of the group when it comes to books and stuff. They’re just the “erm, actually!” meme when they’re working together

Dominic and Felicity: Felicity is.. so, so , so tired of Dominic. Like, she thinks he’s sweet, but he’s like that annoying little brother who won’t leave you alone, yknow? But she’s trying to be nice about it! …But she is STRUGGLING.

2023 Art Summary

that's right folks, it's the end of the year, and you know what that means here :3

it's been a weird year for me, with lots of difficult and new things going on, but i think that overall it's been an okay time. however, art stuff did not come to me as readily, most of the stuff here this year are either sketches during dead air at work or done in a big batch in one big spurt of inspiration. as per usual, i'll let ya know what all went down. it turned out alright :>

well, without further ado, let's get into it!

Continuing from the tail end of 2022, I got more requests for newer Pokemon to draw, and it was really fun! Having grown up alongside the franchise for so long, I find it really interesting that I can pick up how to draw them pretty quickly and pretty well. These were all first attempts with whatever idea I had in mind, and it was a good time :3

The next month continued the Pokemon drawing trend after I had discovered and played around with the Pokemon Infinite Fusion generator. I loved the dedication so many people had to make their own unique combo designs, so later on I had downloaded the Infinite Fusion fan game and had some fun with that!

Additionally, my partner Stacey was planning a homebrew DND campaign called the Afterworlds where angels and demons live in their own little lands. I ended up deciding on making a Changeling Bard demon of Pride, who I named Masque. I have their initial sketches here because it was sort of a pivotal moment in my character creation process. I had a vague sense of a design in mind, which I sketched on the left, but I wasn't happy with it - it was just too boring and plain. So, I took to the internet, and I looked up various references and inspirations and ideas and came up with the sketch on the right, which was much more interesting! Definitely more fitting of a dangerous entertainer type.

Once again, the months bleed together, and Masque's design was completed! I really fell in love with them and their design, and even though we only managed to do one session with them so far (mostly due to life stuff btwn all of us) I really can't to do more things with them. More things like debuting their stage persona, Escher a.k.a Ghost! As the leader of a ragtag group of traveling performers known as the Cabaret Depayser, Escher is a much more charismatic and charming facet of Masque that keeps them hidden from those who want to hunt them down. Since I haven't got to play with that side of them just yet, we'll see how that turns out :3

In other news, Pizza Tower was all the rage this month, and I couldn't help but be swept up in it too! It's an incredibly mesmerizing and fun-looking game, with excellent animation and music and everything. I eventually picked it up myself, but haven't gotten to play it yet. I did end up really liking drawing them, kind of forcing me to embrace a more cartoonish side of my art style, and it was really fun to do.

Also uh. I got sick. like... really sick. i never get sick. so i made an art to cope. this would not be the last time i got sick like that. was still funny to draw it out though

A rather uneventful month, but hey look! We've returned to Pokemon. This time I asked to draw some from memory, and overall I did okay, even for the newer ones like Toxel here. I got the general angery baby lizard vibes down.

I also drew my friend Cake's egg magical girl OC Sunny Side and her little buddy Tama in my downtime at work. I think she's neat and I thought she would be fun to doodle :>

I actually have a very valid excuse for this, because I was preoccupied most of the month with helping out my partner on her student film, which much like this wip was about our story Cosmic Legacy. I helped out with voice acting, voice mixing, and the music; although we weren't able to complete all of it and we still haven't picked it back up to finish it, I was still proud of what I was able to accomplish in about a month on top of a full-time job.

i've always wanted to draw some group with this shot as reference, and it worked perfectly with these kids, but i still have to. y'know. finish it

Most of the month was, again, sketches from work free time. I felt like doodling some of the Destiny Guardians from my own story The Dark Side: War on Destiny from memory, since I don't draw them very often but I still like them a lot.

Circling back to Pizza Tower brainrot, my friend Atlas and I started tossing around an idea of what if, instead of pizza and Italian inspiration, it was ramen and Japanese inspiration? I was really struck with inspiration by that thought, and came up with five new ramen-inspired Toppins: char siu pork, narutomaki, scallion, boiled egg, and wakame seaweed. I thought they all turned out really cute :>

And, as my one piece of actual polished art in literal Months... Genshin dropped a teaser for the new Fontaine region and showed little glimpses of this Melusine, and I was so enamoured I had to draw her. They are so cute and I like em.

sometime in between months, i got sick. again. just like back in march. but that proved to be a little bit useful because...

SURPRISE, IT'S FULL COLOR ART

it was Artfight time once again, and I did not want to miss out. However! I kind of monkey wrenched myself by doing the color wheel challenge that had taken the internet by storm during the time I was under the weather. I ended up finishing it by the middle of July, so I only had time for a couple of art pieces for Artfight after that, which is kind of what I did to myself last year too. At least I had a valid excuse with doing another big fun art thing lol

I still have so many color wheel theme ideas that I would like to make, but after this, life would really get in the way of things, especially art-making in general, so I definitely plan to revisit those ideas later

it was around this time of year when not only was it forest fire season, and i had an ear infection right after being sick, but it was also time when i started really considering and making plans to move out across the country. it was a really busy and stressful time, even outside of myself since my parents and their aging parents were becoming a situation i had to watch unfold and help support as best i could. i doodled a little bit during work but most of my time and attention was spent elsewhere. drawing Lyney from genshin from memory was pretty fun, though. i liked him far too much even then lol

September was when things ramped up even more, and on the 22nd I, with my mom's help, had left with my belongings and began the 3-day trek from Seattle, Washington to Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was actually a decent time with lots of beautiful scenery, which I'll provide here since I... got absolutely nothing done in this month.

also... coolest hotel ever. absolutely oozing with charm. loved it

and actually, i lied a little bit. once i had actually moved in and settled, as i was getting stuff to furnish the place i wanted to pick up something for a little art project to like. keep me sane. so i had found this little Dia de Muertos ceramic cat statue painting kit and fell in love with it and after many days and layers of paint i basically finished it at the end of the month and I think it turned out really cool!

and so, since September was a bit of a dud, here's an October double feature :D

Over time, I started getting into a groove and much more comfortable in my new home, so my art started to pick back up. A lot of things were on my mind: I wanted to start planning on a potential rebranding/vtuber career and made some iterations on a design for my sona's model before settling on the one here, I was extremely bored one day and decided to pick back up on a papercraft doll for my friend Cake's sona (coincidentally just in time for her birthday), I started getting back into TOME and did a redraw of Demon Alpha over a screenshot from The Owl House to revitalize my love of drawing from that franchise, I wanted to draw Masque again cuz the homebrew game had been dead on our group's end because of scheduling conflicts and stuff, and lastly I wanted to do another halloween vampire-sona piece and got the idea for a fun, spooky, sexy two-parter with some bloods. It was a good time and I was feeling on the up and up :3

This month was less up, not just because I did a lot less, but because... I got covid. Finally. After nearly four years of evading it, I think the new environment and stress got to me and got me infected just in time for my birthday :^)

I could barely get anything done during the time I was sick, but I did do a few cool things. Again, I had gotten back into TOME after watching through the A2Z movies, and the epilogue really got me, especially with the softlocke content. So I did some doodles in my spare time and only managed to get this one digitized (which i didn't post yet cuz i wanted to do the others too first, whoops)

The girl on the left is a product of a nifty design challenge I found while mindlessly scrolling thru youtube shorts, where you create an OC based on some traits of yours (here's the video i found for it). It was just a fun little prompt that got me to do a little bit more this month.

Then I wanted to practice drawing my new vtuber sona some more, and there had been this trend on Twitter where people drew characters in one of the poses from this K-pop music video GUILTY. It seemed like a cool pose idea, but I feel like a lot of the people who did it mostly liked drawing muscly dudes and rendering them or just drawing the pose to be sexy, but I was most interested in the context of the song which made it much darker and spookier while still being very sexy and fun to draw, so I focused on the spookier angle of it

and finally, December was a very busy month with the holidays as I was prepping gift-giving for work and my family, but I still ended up dedicating my time to a couple of projects in the time I could find in between

my main focus this month had been on an idea inspired by this series of videos by ABD Illustrates and based on some kinds of image combination techniques to make a bunch of genshin OCs based on a collage of every character of each body type. I had made five different ideas, each with a different element, weapon, and national origin, as well as movesets and even voicelines! But I hadn't gotten terribly far in rendering them, but I wanted to have at least a preview of one of them for this, so I started with my favorite of them all, Jack! He's the one I've become most interested in developing, and I like how he's shaping up so far :3

And, of course, as always, Pokemon runs through my veins and keeps me going. I did some doodles at work, inspired by Hoenn nostalgia after finding Alpharad's Too Many Types romhack to download for myself, as well as my latest playthrough of PMD Rescue Teams Red and Blue, including DX, which I'll be liveblogging here in the future.

Well, what a year it's been. I've done a lot more than I thought, despite everything, but I'm excited for the year to come, because I am dedicating it to all the WIPs I have gathered over the ages, and I will hope to see many of them done for the next summary! Until next time!

hey girlies i have been working on. a horror oc............

tw: body horror, bugs, trypophobia, fire, self harm, death

we follow my guy Mark Warren, who was mercilessly haunted by this mysterious figure as a kid- a walking corpse, full of squirming maggots and centipedes, falling apart, voice a gasp of wet, raspy breathing. whatever it would touch would become infected with this decay, to which the only cure would be to burn the rot out.

this childhood haunting eventually ended with him setting the figure itself on fire, putting it to rest.

now we find him as an adult, married, living a fairly normal life, having mostly tried to block out his childhood encounter with The Bug Man. His mother dies, so he goes back to his childhood home to help pack her stuff and prepare for her funeral. while he’s there, he finds a box of his old stuff, full of charred clothes and singed stuffed animals. and at the bottom of the box, a dead fly. nothing unusual.

this is a very rough concept, very early in development, but basically he starts to find himself transported to what seems to be an alternate version of reality, where his home is full of the same rot and infestations he was haunted by as a child, where he finds versions of his wife mangled and half eaten, rotting but still somehow partially alive, where he finds himself eaten away at while explores the impossible twisting corridors of this ruined house, a distortion of what should have been a comfortable and safe place. other than husks of his loved ones, he is completely alone in this reality, save for a voice that sometimes whispers to him through the flies and cockroaches.

the time he spends in the real world is not much kinder. flashes of this other reality seep into what should be his normal life. he’s not sure who he can trust, he’s not quite sure what’s real or not. when he wakes from the other world, he finds himself places he wasn’t before, out in the woods or even just doing something in his house. he always finds himself clutching his lighter, often holding it to his own skin in an attempt to burn out the rot.

at the same time, when he does actually get to sleep, he finds himself in his childhood home, watching his child self go through the first haunt. it doesn’t take long, however, to realize that the creature he had been fighting against all those years ago was him, now. he was the monster in his closet, the creature in the corner of his room. which means that he is the thing that gets burned in the end.

i really don’t know how ill conclude the story yet. there is. a lot to work on. if i were to break down the concept to purely allegorical parts, i’d say its about how childhood trauma and mental illness can carry on to adult life and you kind of HAVE to deal with it. also in a way about how like. you often make your own memories worse by dwelling on them without trying to resolve and sort of. adding to them in your head. #mentally ill

Penny Polendina alludes to Astro Boy - and how this allusion foreshadows Penny’s eventual resurrection

Some of you may remember my first post in which I compared Penny and Astro Boy, with a specific focus on the version of Astro from the 2009 3D animated film (if not, you can read it here, but I'll be repeating everything stated there anyway). In the month or two since I first made that post, more and more parallels have start to pop up, with one of those parallels matching one of our most popular theories and foreshadowing Penny's upcoming resurrection.

In order to write this, I went through and watched the entire film, taking notes as I went. I'm not going to include every single detail that I noticed, only the things that seem the most relevant and can be put together in a single post in a comprehensive manner. Believe me when I say that I've thought about this a lot, and the sheer amount of parallels and connections (and the fact that I'm not the only one to notice these connections) has lead me to believe that this has been done intentionally. 

With that being said, I'm only going to focus on the Astro Boy film from 2009 - the Astro Boy franchise is massive, going back to the first manga coming out in 1952 with a few different adaptations and reboots with different versions of the story, and I just don't have the time to go through all of those. As such, I'm going to be focusing on the movie, due to the fact that it has the highest amount of parallels to both Penny specifically, and RWBY as a whole.

So, let's get into this.

Worldbuilding

Metro City and the Surface - Atlas and Mantle

One of the reasons I've decided to focus on the film in particular is due to the nature of the film's setting. Astro Boy (2009) takes place in two locations - Metro City, and the Surface.

According to the opening of the film, Metro City was created when the people who would become the founders of the city noticed the world changing for the worse, and responded by taking part of the land and lifting it into the sky, creating a floating city - the opening voiceover refers to it as "an oasis, a floating paradise". Everybody else is left behind on what is referred to as the Surface, left to fend for themselves while the people of Metro City largely ignore their existence.

The parallels to Atlas and Mantle are crystal clear. Atlas and Metro City are both set up as a beautiful city above the clouds, meant to serve as an inspiration for the rest of the world. In reality, it's a place where the rich and privileged can live in comfort while shunning the poor. Meanwhile, down in Mantle/on the Surface, people are suffering and struggling to get by. Additionally, both 'surface' and 'mantle' are words that are associated with the ground.

The Blue Core (and the Red Core) - Penny's soul and Maiden powers.

Another concept that is (as far as my research shows at least) unique to the film is the Blue Core and the Red Core.

The Blue Core is a small sphere that is filled with pure positive energy, referred to as Blue Core Energy. It was created by Dr. Elefun, made from the fragments of a star that no longer exists - meaning that the Blue Core is all that's left, and cannot be recreated. This is reminiscent of how Pietro has no more aura left to spare, and thus is unable to give any more of his soul to Penny like he did the first time she died. In this allusion, the Blue Core is representative of Penny's soul and the power of the Winter Maiden.

When the Blue Core was created, there was also a byproduct - the Red Core. Essentially, it's the same thing as the Blue Core, but with negative energy instead of positive. If the Blue Core and the Red Core make contact, they both die - this is relevant later.

You could compare the Red Core to Watts’ virus, due to the way that it causes a robot to have red eyes and that it coming into contact with the Blue Core destroys them both.

Character Parallels

Before I get into this properly, I wanna give a quick side note. While Astro matches up to Penny perfectly, things get a little bit messier with the others in that we have a case of characters taking on multiple roles. However, this is far from unheard of in RWBY - let's not forget about how Blake represents both Belle and the Beast, Yang is sometimes the Beast to Blake's Belle, and Adam is an amalgamation of every antagonistic force in Beauty and the Beast. It's far from uncommon for a character to allude to multiple characters from the same allusion, or vice versa, which is what we see with some of the characters in this allusion as well.

Astro - Penny Polendina

Unsurprisingly, Astro himself is our parallel to Penny.

After the death of his son Toby, Dr. Tenma rebuilds his son as a robot, using the Blue Core as his energy source. The Blue Core is stated to be unpredictable, and it's this that makes Astro who he is, what makes him unique from every other robot. As stated earlier, the Blue Core represents Penny's soul (and the Winter Maiden powers that are attached to it). When the Blue Core dies - and Astro dies with it - and Dr. Elefun is asked if he can be rebuilt, the answer is 'no' because the Core was unique and can't be remade - just like Penny's soul.

While Astro appears perfectly human on the surface, he's fitted with as much self-defence technology as Tenma could fit in him. The most iconic of these upgrades (and the only one that's consistent across every single version of Astro throughout the franchise) is the rocket boots. He even flies in a very similar way to Penny - pay attention to the posing, especially with the legs.

When Astro starts making friends with humans on the Surface, he conceals the fact that he's a robot, afraid of what they'll think of him when they learn he's not human. This matches up to Penny initially hiding the fact that she's not human, seeing herself as 'not a real girl'.

Astro has two father figures - Dr. Elefun and Dr. Tenma. Similarly, Penny has two father figures - Pietro and Ironwood.

During the climax of the film, Metro City starts to fall out of the sky and back down to the Surface. This is a parallel to two seperate moments in RWBY. The most obvious one is when Atlas is falling onto Mantle after the Staff of Creation is used. However, I think this scene more closely resembles the scene from Amity in which Amity Tower begins to fall.

When Astro sees that Metro City is falling, he immediately flies in to hold it up, despite the incredible strain it puts on him. This is a direct parallel to how Penny flew in to hold up Amity Tower.

Astro pushes himself to the limit when he holds up Metro City, to the point where the flames from his boots burn so brightly that they turn blue - oh hey, doesn't that look familiar?

Astro also demonstrates self-sacrificial tendencies at a few points in the film. When he's captured in order to have his Blue Core taken out and placed into another robot, he simply accepts it, saying that "I think maybe this is what's supposed to happen...this is my destiny". This becomes a lot more interesting when you remember that the Blue Core is representative of Penny's soul and Maiden powers. Astro giving himself up to President Stone (the film's main antagonist who later ends up in a sort of 'fusion' with the Red Core) so that Stone can use the Blue Core could be a reference to the virus making Penny want to give herself up to Ironwood so that he can use her soul to open the vault - especially if we believe that the Red Core is connected to the virus in some way.

Near the end of the film, in the fight against the fusion of President Stone and a giant robot containing the Red Core (it's a long story, I'll get to it later in the post), Astro makes the decision to sacrifice his own life in order to destroy both the Red Core and the Blue Core, saying “this is what I was created for” and saving the lives of everybody else in the process. I doubt I need to explain how "choosing to die in order to protect other people" relates back to Penny in Volume 8.

At the end of the film, and in the rest of the Astro Boy franchise as a whole, Astro takes it upon himself to be the protector of Metro City (and technically the Surface, but since Metro City has fallen, they're not exactly seperate locations anymore...). 'Robotic guardian of a city who's seen as a hero by the people' - you don't get much more obvious of a connection to the Protector of Mantle than that.

Additional details that may not be intentional but I still noticed anyway;

- Dr. Elefun describes as Astro by saying "That robot had more humanity than most of us". At this point, there's been many moments that affirm Penny's humanity - "You have an aura, Penny. A soul. That's who you are - our friend. Not a machine", "Her soul is who she is", the fact that she was able to receive the Maiden powers, all of these moments affirm that Penny has always been just as human as anybody else. This is also contrasted against Ironwood (and, for a while, Winter), who act more machine than human.

- Astro is actually rather heavily trans-coded. Penny is also trans-coded, but this is mostly likely a coincidence that happened as a result of the inherent transness of robots

- Elefun tells Astro that he's "not actually an entirely ordinary boy", which is reminiscent of Ruby describing Penny as "she's...not your typical girl."

- The shape of Penny's bow (the way that it sticks out more on one side while the other side is more vertical) looks similar to the shape of Astro's hair (this one was pointed out to me by @cosmokyrin​ when I mentioned this theory in the Frosen Steel server)

Dr. Elefun - Pietro Polendina

Dr. Elefun is one of Metro City's top scientists, and one of Astro's father figures. He is soft-spoken and gentle, a dreamer but a genius. In terms of personality alone, he's a pretty good match with Pietro. He's also the one who created the Blue Core, which draws a direct parallel to Pietro creating Penny's soul from part of his.

Dr. Elefun is the first person to truly see Astro as who he truly is. Dr. Tenma expects Astro to be a replacement for Toby, and is disappointed when he isn't. Similarly, everybody else sees Astro as a robot just like any other at first - an advanced robot, but nothing more than a robot. But Dr. Elefun gives him genuine praise, and encourages Astro to live his life and find his place in the world, just like how Pietro tells Penny that he wants to see her live her life.

It's also worth noting that in most other versions of Astro Boy, Elefun takes the role of Astro's primary caregiver after Dr. Tenma no longer wants him.

President Stone - James Ironwood

President Stone is the current political leader of Metro City. For the entire film, his entire focus is on combat and military strength, and on multiple occasions he actively expresses his intention to start a war with the Surface. He believes that the best way to get re-elected is with a show of military force and violence.

His primary goal throughout the film is to have Astro destroyed in order to retrieve the Blue Core and use it for his own gain. This is a direct parallel to Ironwood's goal in Volume 8 - to hunt down Penny and have her use her Maiden power to open the vault, and destroy herself.

Stone wants to use the Blue Core in order to power a specialised combat robot, ironically called the Peacekeeper. When Astro continues to escape his clutches, he decides to use the Red Core to power the Peacekeeper instead, but it doesn't completely go as planned. The Peacekeeper is equipped with what the film calls 'adaptive technology' - it's capable of absorbing anything it makes contact with into its own body.

And I do mean anything

After Stone is absorbed by the Peacekeeper, he's in full control of it - essentially the Peacekeeper is nothing more than a metal outer shell. President Stone has become a fusion of man and machine.

Dr. Tenma - both Pietro Polendina AND James Ironwood (a bit more Pietro than Ironwood but it's worth acknowledging both)

You might notice that while Elefun and Stone do have plenty of references to Pietro and Ironwood respectively, there are gaps where they don't cover every aspect of these characters and/or their dynamic with Penny. This is where Dr. Tenma comes in.

Dr. Tenma is Astro's dad, and the one who built him. He originally created Astro as a sort of 'replacement' for his biological son Toby after he died, giving Astro all of Toby's memories (more on this later). Naturally, this is a very clear connection to Pietro.

Additionally, Dr. Tenma uses the Blue Core - a completely unique, one-of-a-kind technological marvel - in order to power a single small robot that's intended to be nothing more than a replacement for his son, saying "I can't lose him again!". In this moment, Dr. Tenma is so focused on not losing his child that he doesn't acknowledge the big picture.

However, once Dr. Tenma realises that Astro isn't a perfect replica of Toby, but rather his own person, Tenma discards him, not caring if Astro gets destroyed or not. Similarly, when Penny stopped doing what Ironwood wanted her to do, Ironwood stopped caring about her as anything more than a container for the Maiden powers and is perfectly willing to let her die once the vault is opened.

Luckily, Dr. Tenma does have a change of heart, deciding that while Astro isn't Toby, he's still his son. Near the end of the film, Astro is very injured, and Dr. Tenma encourages him to get far away from the danger. However, Astro refuses to back down, instead choosing to sacrifice his life in order to stop President Stone, despite Dr. Tenma begging him not to go. Here, we have yet another parallel to this moment in Amity.

Bonus (aka characters that aren't perfect allusions, but connections do exist)

When Astro ends up on the Surface, he's taken in by a man who calls himself Hamegg. Hamegg ends up being a jerk, and while his personality and actions in the film don't particularly match up with any characters in RWBY, his backstory is a perfect match to Watts - a head scientist in Metro City who was shunned and fired for reasons unknown (Hamegg claims that they were 'intimated by his ideas and talent', but this was when he was trying to impress Astro and he lies a lot anyway, so this could be a complete lie).

On the Surface, Astro befriends four human kids (Cora, Zane, Sludge and Widget) and their robotic dog, Trashcan. While the personalities don't really match up (though Cora, Astro's closest friend, does bear a visual resemblance to Ruby), the idea of a 4-person group + a dog could be a parallel to Team RWBY and Zwei.

Zog is a very old, very large robot that had been 'dead' for several years until Astro found him and revived him by giving him some of his Blue Core Energy. Zog is our allusion to Winter - Astro giving Zog some of his Blue Core energy is a parallel to Penny giving Winter the Maiden powers. Additionally, in The Final Word, Winter explicitly calls herself a machine. While this does have significance on it's own, it could also be a nod to this allusion. That being said, the main connection between Winter and Zog (and possibly the most important part of this post) is based on events that have yet to happen in RWBY canon, and so I'm saving that part for the end of the post.

Story Parallels 

Toby's Death

Toby Tenma, Dr. Tenma's biological son, was very similar to Astro in terms of personality (with some key differences), as well as having a strong physical resemblance.

When the Blue Core and the Red Core were first being shown off to President Stone, Toby was accidentally locked behind a sealed off barrier, trapped with the Peacekeeper containing the Red Core. Toby was killed in a blast that completely disintegrated him, leaving nothing but a hat containing a single strand of hair.

This hair is important, because Dr. Tenma used this hair in order to extract Toby's DNA and memories, which he was then able to implant into Astro in order to make him resemble Toby.

This scene is most likely a parallel to Penny's first death in the Vytal Festival. In her first death, Penny's body was destroyed, but her core remained intact. Her core, which contained all of her memories, was the key piece in properly putting her back together without erasing who she used to be. The strand of hair containing Toby's DNA is representative of Penny's core containing her memories.

Additionally, there's the fact that when Toby was rebuilt as Astro, he was given various upgrades to allow him to better hold his own in a fight, with the most obvious behind the ability to fly via rocket boots. Penny received similar upgrades when she was rebuilt as well.

It's worth acknowledging that Toby's death could potentially parallel the moment that Ambrosius separated Penny from her robotic body, with the strand of hair instead being her soul, separated from her dying body and then disintegrating. However, due to the timeline and order of events, I think that Toby's death is more likely to be a parallel to Penny's first death, and her separation from her robot body is instead a parallel to the next scene I'm about to mention.

Momentary Death

When Astro is captured by President Stone and taken back to Metro City, Dr. Tenma actually does remove the Blue Core from his body, which does cause Astro to temporarily die.

Luckily, it only takes a few moments for Dr. Tenma to change his mind and return the Blue Core to Astro, reviving him.

Astro's 'soul' was removed from his body, causing that robotic body to die, even though in the end Astro does survive it. This is reminiscent of Ambrosius removing Penny's soul from her robotic body, letting that body die, while Penny survives.

Zog

I briefly went over Zog earlier, but I wanna go into more in-depth about him, because the parallels between Winter and Zog and the implications of said parallels are the main reason I ultimately decided to make this post.

As I said earlier, Zog is a very old, broken down robot that nobody has been able to revive in years. When Astro finds him, he brings him back to life by giving him some of his Blue Core Energy. Astro essentially gives Zog some of his lifeforce, a part of his soul.

Winter was on the verge of death at Ironwood's hands, but Penny was able to save her by giving her the Maiden powers, and her soul with them.

However, Zog doesn't keep all of the Blue Core Energy Astro gave him all to himself...

Resurrection

As I've mentioned a few times in this post, Astro does die - and I mean properly die, not a death that lasted 2 minutes at the most and had no consequences. Astro sacrifices himself and his Blue Core dies, all in attempts to protect the people of Metro City/the Surface and his friends. Dr. Elefun says that he can't be rebuilt because his Blue Core, his soul, was unique.

But then, Zog comes around. Zog, who is holding onto what is a part of Astro's soul - the only surviving part of Astro's soul. Zog returns some of the Blue Core Energy to Astro, which brings Astro back to life.

So, to recap: Astro gives a part of his lifeforce, part of his soul, to Zog. When Astro dies, Zog gives some of that soul back to Astro in order to revive him.

If you've been looking at the theories regarding Penny and Winter recently, this will sound VERY familiar. While the specifics vary, the essentials of the most popular theory is that Penny transferred her soul to Winter to hold on to along with the Maiden powers, and that somehow, Winter will return that soul to Penny in one way or another (either by putting her into another robotic body, or just somehow extracting her soul and letting it form it's own body again). The fact that this movie has these exact events occurring makes this seem more and more like the most likely route.

If Penny really is an intentional allusion to Astro Boy - which, based on the sheer length of this post, seems pretty damn likely - then the film practically spells it out for us. Winter will give part of her aura, the part that Penny gave her, in order to bring Penny back to life.

So out of nowhere I was tagged and quoted by a SR shipper for a blog of mine posted in August of last year. Talk about throwback but, hey, gotta appreciate that level of snooping. 😉

Back in the day I actually used to encourage discourse amongst Inuyasha fans- both shippers and antis alike- but I've since realized that it's a lost cause. But for you, @feministmetalgreymon , I'll grant this exception. Just 'cause it's been a while so why the hell not. haha

I want to assure you, however, that nothing you say will ever convince me that Sesshomaru and Rin are meant to be together romantically or that the story intended it so. Nor will you find any validation here. You can ship them for all I care, but please for all that is good and holy while I have your attention try- I mean really try- to understand why it is so many of us Inuyasha fans are so against this pairing in the first place (newsflash: it's not about ship wars), and why we believe a romance between the two of them is completely and utterly out of character.

I worked with kids for many years as a teacher, and many people in my family have too or still do. Two of them happen to be just over 5 feet which is quite short for the average adult woman living here. I've also worked alongside many a women of short stature, and never did I hear any of them complaining of issues with their students having difficulty differentiating them from their own peers just because they were short as well. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. Kids are quite smart and pick up on a lot more than you seem to give them credit for. Height is not the only characteristic they look at to determine who's an adult and who's not, and it's foolish to suggest otherwise. So unless you're a babysitter who's still in their teens and/or who has very childlike features or behavior then I'm afraid what you're getting at is total hogwash. This is just another example of how you shippers offer nothing of real substance to your reasoning, it's only ever cherry-picking or strawmanning from you guys. Stop deflecting from the real issues please, because this certainly isn't one and only winds up being a complete waste of time for all parties involved.

Okay, calm down now. I wasn't insinuating that relationships between parents and children can't change over time in terms of how they get along. Of course that's possible, as all families experience their fair share of estrangement and abuse. What I was speaking about was in reference to the overall dynamic between the two. Because a bad mother or father can still be viewed as a parental figure to their child even if say they're not in said child's life anymore. Since Sesshomaru and Rin share a healthy bond- and just a friendly reminder that in my blog I even said that he doesn't have to necessarily be labeled her father but that a romantic relationship later would still be inappropriate- I didn't deem it necessary to address what you brought up. Plus, it kinda, umm, misses the point?? Please, let's stay on topic. And it's not captured in the screenshot, but stop acting like there isn't a small part of them that idolizes their parents at some point during childhood. Just like you mention later on how it's normal for kids to have innocent crushes on adults that they eventually grow out of? Well, guess what, the same concept applies here. Kids eventually learn that their parents are far from perfect and make mistakes too. Rin is so damn young in the OG series though that we never even get to see her reach that maturity level.

LOL! Alright, okay, so the "unbreakable bond" bit you're mentioning was actually me quoting you sessrinners. Did you not catch that? I literally spelled it out. *sigh* The whole point I was making is that shippers like yourself make hypocritical and contradictory statements all.the.goddamn.time. One moment you guys claim that Sesshomaru and Rin were essentially strangers and meant very little to each other, only to say in the same breath a few seconds later that they were destined to be together and their bond is like no other. I agree, their bond is special, but why must that mean they're going to fall in love?

That is the root of the matter here. Too many animes/mangas have romanticized this older adult man & young girl growing up falling in love trope that it's become way too normalized and widely accepted across the world- and yes, in some cultures more than others. Sadly, you lack the awareness to recognize how this all works. You know how we know that? When we see that you shippers are so desensitized to sexualized images of girls in the media that you share posts like this one below which *subtly* imply a future romance although one half of that pairing is still just a child in the pic and then try and pass it off as cute. That's like super fucking problematic and it scares me that you can't see that (or deny you do). 🤢

After all that's said and done, Sesshomaru leaving Rin in the village with Kaede is to me the strongest indicator more than pretty much anything else he's done for Rin that proves he is her adoptive father. It's so funny to me how you somehow see the exact opposite though. 🤔 What I think is happening is that you got yourself on some squeaky clean ass shipper goggles fresh out of your little echo chamber. Because I hate to tell you, but what you're fantasizing is what you want to see and not what's actually there on screen or was written into the story. I'm strictly talking about Inuyasha and the manga of course. [For the TL; DR version skip to the last paragraph.]

Parents looking after their kids is what parents are supposed to do. A good parent will do anything to keep their child safe and ensure they are cared for, so what he did for her by leaving her there was in her best interests clearly. Besides, as a babysitter, you more than most people should understand that parents aren't always able to be there for their kids so sometimes others gotta step in to help. Haven't you heard of the saying, "it takes a village to raise a child?" Which in Rin's case is literally true! 😂 Sometimes kids are even sent off to stay with grandparents and that's who raises them instead. Or maybe they have to temporarily live with an aunt or uncle because their single parent's job requires they work out of town 4-5 days of the week so they're hardly home. But that doesn't mean that the parents care or love their kids any less, and it's foolish to assume that Sesshomaru must have thought very little of Rin simply due to the fact that he made the decision to leave her in the village. Come on, y'all are acting like he abandoned her there!!

It's just given the circumstances Sesshomaru finally came to learn that Rin traveling with him was no longer safe. I also like to think it's because he wished for her to live a more normal life and to learn how to fully trust humans again. Plus, continuing to travel with him as young as she was would have proven dangerous and unwise. Now for you to know all this and still manage to turn his past actions towards her while she was just a child into a romantic gesture is what boggles my mind. Regardless of how you look at it, from my perspective or your own, Sesshomaru is in the wrong. Either he's a father figure who impregnates his daughter at the young age of approximately 14. OR he's this man she used to travel with who maybe isn't a father to her but who nonetheless basically rapes her since kids her age can't consent to sex with an adult. Idk about you but it sounds to me like nobody here wins with either scenario we're given. In other words, you should be just as mad as we are. If only one side didn't choose to forsake their morals they know we both have in common for the sake of a ship. Welp. 🤷‍♀️

I agree, incest is disgusting but that's not the only problem we have with this pairing. A romantic bond forming between Sesshomaru and Rin would also constitute as grooming.

You realize that over the years he visited her in the village that he brought her gifts too and essentially watched her grow up right before his very eyes, right? I mean, I know you do, but I really shouldn't have to explain further why pursuing a romantic/sexual relationship with each other is plain and simple wrong. And before you say it's not because he didn't have any malintent, please understand that considering their history and power dynamic up to then that yes this is still considered grooming even if Rin supposedly "wanted it" or "made the first move." Whether you consider him her father or not, as the adult who took on a role resembling that of a caretaker in her early life- a critical developmental time for a child- Sesshomaru is obligated to turn down any advances by Rin and most definitely should not initiate any himself. As the first close adult figure she's had in her life since her parents died, it's unfathomable to imagine how Sesshomaru could go through with taking advantage of this young girl who was under his care and supervision since they met. To think he could be capable of betraying that trust sickens me to the core.

This. Now THIS is how a parent/guardian or a similar adult caretaker (babysitter, teacher, etc.) talks to a child. And, in turn, this is how some young children talk to adults. You'd be insane and delusional to deny it! We see it in our everyday lives, do we not? From where else do you think our stories draw most of their inspiration? Yes, obviously these fictional universes have aspects of fantasy that don't exist in the real world, but so how then do you suppose we're able to relate to them? The reason for that being is because these stories are written by people for people, so naturally there are going to be real life aspects embedded throughout. Sure, a little escapism doesn't hurt as we don't need to take everything so seriously, but ultimately we all need to recognize that the messages in the stories we tell matter. Most stories possess a combination of both light and dark themes, but when it specifically comes to the latter we gotta be careful with how we tackle this in children's media since kids are far more impressionable.

So if at the center of a story we have two of the main protagonists whose mom is basically their same age and to top it off she knew their dad when she was just a girl and who just so happened to help raise her, wouldn't you say that's beyond fucked up or at the very least so fucking weird? Like why would we think it's even remotely okay for our children to watch this garbage?? Really think about it. Try and be objective for once and think about how it would sound explaining this storyline to an outsider who's never watched IY or HNY. Well, antis have tried this before many times and we always get the same reaction: Ewww!

Like I said earlier, if you wanna ship it then fine, but 1) please stop seeking our approval or trying to change our minds - your ship wish came true didn't it, so why do you need us to validate it? 2) even though it's not canon, respect that we don't support this sequel portraying pedophilia in a positive light. It's harmful af to not only allow but glorify the continuation of sexualized images of young girls everywhere. And I shouldn't have to say this, but just because this trope is popular as you say does not make it right. Lolicon themes in the media have been an issue forever and it needs to stop. Yes, even some people in Japan or "the East" would agree. Shocker!

We're pissed off and rightfully so because Yashahime's TV rating is 14, not to mention it airs at the prime time kids in Japan watch TV after getting home from school. That's Towa and Setsuna's age, true, but if Rin being the mom when she's like only a year older than them (please don't argue w/ me about the math- antis have so far been right every time with it) is straight-up disgusting and not something we should be supporting or endorsing. Rin's a whole ass child!! Please don't start with the "but times were different then so her having kids at 15 is acceptable" argument either, because we've already debunked that and every other single excuse you guys throw at us. Besides, how or why would you expect young viewers to know these historical "facts" anyway, especially if as you suggest fiction doesn't affect reality so what does it matter? Yet here we are, arguing over a fictional show in real life almost a year and a half into the "Sesshomaru fucks?" sequel being announced. My ass, your ass, hell all our asses fiction doesn't affect reality!

Look, I do apologize if the tone of this blog came off as snippy or condescending at times. I do not wish you any ill will, it's just I'm not really sure what you expected to get out of all this besides maybe getting on my nerves perhaps. haha A lot of you shippers have been desperately scrambling to interact with us, lurking in our tags, jumping onto our posts screaming canon and getting so defensive even though you sought us out first. We've been sticking to our tags, so how about you stay in your lane too. By the way since we're on the topic, have you seen Twitter or Reddit?! SR shippers there are the actual worst and many Inuyasha fans (not just antis) have complained of not feeling welcomed to engage in fandom spaces anymore. Shippers swarm them and scare them off simply because fans don't like your ship and refuse to accept it. It's pathetic, really. No one should ever be bullied or harassed just because they don't like something you might. We're all fans of Inuyasha, aren't we? So let's act like it. Yashahime on the other hand, you guys are welcome to that pungent heap of trash. Fans have a right to criticize it too, but if you like it then good for you, so keep on liking it and don't mind us.

I'm almost done, but real quick back to Jaken! Let's not forget about how the official Yashahime website- which came out after my blog, mind you- described Jaken. This translation isn't the best one available but it's the only version a fellow anti friend could track down. They do recall a better one done by a native Japanese speaker who was also an anti, and that member confirmed that Jaken is indeed called Rin's babysitter. So you see, I was right in my interpretation. In the original post I did compare Jaken to a brother, but after talking to others (some comments can be found under said post) I did acknowledge that he's more of a reluctant babysitter who's not related. And if he's not at least a brother to Rin, then he's definitely not her father.

At the end of the day, the creator Rumiko Takahashi has the final word. Which is guess what? Hogosha. 💖 Probably should've just started out with that and saved us all the trouble, huh? Good day/night to you.
