Setting it months after Holmes’ death? I’ve never seen a story start there. I want to see what they do with Watson and his grief and his apparent determination to save everyone else, since he couldn’t save Sherlock.

They’re centering Watson as a doctor! That’s truly rare in an adaptation—grounding his character not only in his intelligence and his attention to people, but in his specific expertise. This is a show not frightened of a competent Watson.

He seems actually kind to the people (staff and patients both) under his care. How rare is a drama with an empathetic, collaborative, non-reactive male lead?

I can’t wait.
