🌿Plant Spirit Devotional: 15 Day Exercise
Here's my concept for a method to facilitate bonding with a Plant Spirit or Herbal Ally over the course of a month. Obviously this practice takes far longer than a month to create a lasting bond with a plant spirit but hopefully this exercise helps provide some structure to the practice of bonding with a Herbal Ally. Feel free to use this outline yourself or modify it to your own needs.
15 days of Plant Spirit Devotion. Day 1: Introduction to the chosen plant. Day 2: The plants native habitat. Day 3: Cultivation, Foraging and Preparation. Day 4: Mundane properties (Culinary, Medicinal, Poisons etc). Day 5: Art inspired by / incorporating the chosen plant. Day 6: Magical correspondences. Day 7: Folk names and their origins. Day 8: Folklore and associated myths. Day 9: Deity / Spirit associations. Day 10: Plant's role in ritual: Cultural and Spiritual Significance. Day 11: Tarot / Oracle associations: Card spotlights. Day 12: Personal Sigil for the Plant Spirit. Day 13: Current Relationship with the Plant Spirit. Day 14: Personal goals when working with the Spirit. Day 15: Exercise conclusion, Take-aways and final overview.
My current plan with this exercise is to complete it each month for a different plant spirit / herbal ally, starting with Rosemary during February. Generally my plan is to spend the first half of the month bonding with the herb and researching it and the latter half of the month completing this exercise.

The story explores themes of abuse and grief through the framing of the FMC’s newly found kinks surrounding fear and the MMC testing the limits of his most monstrous qualities. While not seen on page, it is heavily implied the FMC is a survivor of sexual violence and incest. Birth control via herbal remedies is taken on page and there is a brief mention of pregnancy and childbirth. While a majority of this work is queernormative, there is a brief instance of homophobia (past). 
There is one violent death that is described on page that involves dismemberment and being eaten, while all others are briefly mentioned along with attempted filicide.
The FMC and MMC have a significant size difference—that is made even greater via the MMC transforming—and engage in sexual acts akin to BDSM, which include: teeth play, biting, pinning/restraining, knotting, anal, fellatio, cunnilingus, deep penetration (oral, vaginal), choking, and vore-adjacent death ideation.

🌿Plant Spirit Devotion: Herbal Altars
So this is alittle unorthodox but I've been keeping/tending an Altar specifically for my current Herbal Ally, atleast for the duration of my active devotional to that Plant Spirit (my post about Plant Spirit Devotionals). Currently my altar is set up for Rosemary pictured below. The Purpose of these altars is not to worship or revere the Spirit in the same way that my Persephone Altar exists to venerate the goddess. In my mind a Herbal Altar exists as a dedicated space for the spirit which acts as a reminder of the spirit throughout the day, while the aromatics of the Herbs themselves and the general energy of the Plant is allowed to suffuse the area.

My Rosemary Altar pictured above contains the following:
Fresh Rosemary: Personally I think the most important thing on a Herbal Altar should be the plant itself, ideally a living plant but when that is unavailable the best alternative is fresh plant matter.
Dried Rosemary: Failing fresh plant matter, dried herbs can work just as well.
Rosemary Essential Oil: An essential oil or similar product made using the plant represents the myriad forms the Herbal Ally can take in your Practice.
A Herbal Flash card for Rosemary: This card not only has beautiful artwork depicting the Herb but on the opposite side contains information revolving around Rosemary's mundane and magical properties allow with a short botanical dossier. This is a representation of the Plants properties and what you can learn from it.
An associated Tarot/Oracle card: In My case I like to have a representative Tarot card for my Herbal Allies, I use the Bottanical Deck by Jessica Bott which happens to have a Card for Rosemary.
A tea light candle dressed in Rosemary oil and dried Rosemary: A representative of the Herb role in rituals, and in my broader practice. I plan on burning this on the last day of my devotional.

🌿🍃 having conversations with my mutuals all over the world, i was stunned to find out that not every country/culture practices drinking herbal teas for health issues. as a slavic person i decided to create this little guide because – and i'm saying this as a skeptical person who hates superstitions – they really work. 🍃🌿
mint tea (mentha piperita) is for digestion and relaxation chamomile tea (matricaria chamomilla) is for digestive system horsetail tea (equisetum arvense) is for skin, hair, nails condition, remineralization and circulatory system linden tea (tilia cordata) is for a cold lemon balm tea (melissa officinalis) is for relaxation and sleep nettle tea (uritca dioica) is for urinary tract sage tea (salvia officinalis) is for when your throat or teeth hurt fennel tea (funiculum vulgare) is for digestive system white mulberry tea (morus alba) is for carbohydrate metabolism pansy tea (viola tricolor) is for clean skin and body detox purge tea (cistus incanus) is for immunity hawthorn tea (crataegus monogyna) is for heart and circulatory system damian leaves tea (turnera diffusa) is for anxiety and libido dandelion tea (taraxacum officinale) is for liver, stomach and digestion st john's wort tea (hypericum perforatum) is for emotional balance, good mood, digestive system and kidney function

How Astarion / Gale / Halsin would help you unwind after a stressful day 🌿

Astarion
- Astarion’s technique to help you unwind would definitely be distraction.
- After a stressful day, Astarion would spend a little bit of time to fluff up pillows or to gather a blanket or two, before inviting you to sit with him.
- He’d probably pour a glass of wine for you each. He’d chat utter rubbish to you, or alternatively, Astarion may retell some great story of grandeur to you (which is half true and half greatly exaggerated)
- A few games of cards may be played, or perhaps chess.
- Astarion would suggest that you both plan an escape together… whether it be a break somewhere peaceful, or far away, he always thought that even the very concept of disappearing somewhere new was quite soothing
- Failing all else, Astarion would offer to brush your hair. He’d carefully take the time to braid your locks (if you have longer hair) - making sure to run the comb gently across your scalp before tying your hair in a ribbon. Alternatively, if you have shorter hair, he’d source a bottle of rich oil , being carefully to run it across your scalp and massage your head gently under his fingers.
Gale
- Gale would know something was wrong as soon as he laid eyes on you.
- He’d instruct you to go splash your face with water and to change into something comfortable. As you did so, he’d prepare a warm and comforting meal for you - careful to make it just to your liking.
- As you ate, Gale would ask you about your day - listening thoughtfully and providing any suggestions or input where he saw necessary. If you’d prefer not to talk about it, Gale would completely understand, and instead, he’d simply sit with you. He’d probably busy himself with a task, humming softly or singing under his breath as he did so.
- Gale would have a ‘special chat’ with Tara and would ask her to sit on your lap. After a little argument with said cat, he’d bring her to you and plop her in your lap. Once she was comfy and she had settled, you’d find her purring to be rather soothing.
- If all else failed, Gale would simply hold you. With your head pressed up against his chest and his chin on top of your head - he’d run his fingers through your hair and hum a soft sea shanty he learnt as a boy living in Waterdeep.
Halsin
- Halsin would offer that you join him on a walk. Even if he hadn’t prepared a route before hand, he’d naturally pick whichever walk had the prettiest views and scenery.
- He’d walk beside you, talking to you by pointing out plants or telling you stories from folklore. If you ever grew tired at any point, Halsin would effortlessly pick you up and carry you the rest of the way.
- Once you both reached a scenic view point, Halsin would invite you to meditate with him. He’d show you a few of his preferred breathing techniques until you found yourself naturally letting go of any tension you had gathered over the day.
- Whilst you sat with your eyes closed, Halsin would quietly gather a few plants, such as lavender, from the nearby area. He’d rub the leaves and flowers between his hands, releasing a sweet herbal oil. The druid would then sit beside you, slowly taking your hand in his to massage the oils into your palm.
- Halsin would naturally be an expert in pressure points, and so, through a hand/arm/shoulder massage, he’d be easily able to help melt any tension out from your body
