hey so y'all remember I did those ESMP family headcanon art for season 1? yeah I've been doing season two... very slowly.

So, introducing- Queen Christine Elizabeth and King Theodore Elizabeth of Glimmer Grove! of course, with their cursed daughter, the princess Katherine Elizabeth :]

I don't have much done, and admittedly this one was unposted from a bit ago, but I figured I should post more of what I've been doing considering i have been drawing still.

Anyways Katherine here was a delight un the way of actually having canon skins for your characters parents!! I had fun if not troublesome with translating them into both my art style and interpreting with notes from my Glimmer Grove board. but i like where it turned up i think! Baby Katherine's dress could have been more gaudy, and I'm not happy with her fathers facial hair, but generally I think they're neat :]

The morning of women's day i attended a super inspiring seminar about being a woman in tech at a large tech company in my city, and now I'm inspired to share what I learned with all of you!

I didn't have time to finish this post on women's day, but it's not too late to post now: every day is a day to celebrate women!

Women actually laid the foundation for a lot of the tech industry.

For example, the first computer, ENIAC, was programmed completely by women! While men were the behind the scenes engineers, it was women who did all the actual programming of ENIAC.

The women who made up the team responsible for programming it were called Jean Bartik, Kay McNulty, Betty Holberton, Marlyn Wescoff, Frances V. Spence and Ruth Teitelbaum.

I think one woman who is finally getting her overdue recognition is Ada Lovelace. She was a mathematician (also often referred to as the first programmer) who created the first algorithm in 1842, which wasn't recognized until 1953! However, since none of her machines were ever completed it was never tested in practice during her time.

She has since been celebrated by giants such as google, and she has given name to a programming language (Ada). She was also the first person to write about what is today known as AI. Back when she was practicing, computers were simply thought of as calculators. But she had an idea that if computers can understand numbers, then that can be translated to letters, and in turn that can lead to computers being able to handle words, and eventually even write, draw and create music.

Hedy Lamarr was a famous Hollywood actress in the 40's, but she was also an inventor who laid ground for what we use today for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS services.

During WW2 she wanted to contribute positviely to the military efforts against the Nazis, and she tried to figure out how to radio control torpedoes. In 1942 she patented her technology "Secret Communications System", also known as frequency hopping, which laid the foundation for the technology we use today for Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. It wasn't until 1962 that it was first used for its intended purpose, during the cuban missile crisis.

Grace Hopper invented the first compiler, called A-0, in 1955, and was also part of the Univac team, which was the company also responsible for building ENIAC. She also initiated work on the COBOL programming language.

She was also the one to coin the term "bug" in 1947. Computers back then had lights to visualize their working process (which was also a womans idea to implement btw) and bugs would be attracted to the lights, but usually that was no issue - until a bug made its way into a tube which caused the computer to stop working. Hopper taped the bug to a piece of paper and logged what caused the crash - a bug.

Dorothy Vaughan (left), alongside colleagues such as Katherine Johnson (middle) and Mary Jackson (right), was a mathematician at NASA (called NACA when she started) who worked on the orbit for the first ever manned spaceflight and later also on Apollo 11 that would take humanity to the moon!

When Vaughan started at what was then called NACA, segregation was still prevalent in the US and she was not allowed in the same areas in the office as her white colleagues. Another department was formed for the black staff, and when the director of said department unexpectedly died, she was appointed as the new director and thus became the first ever black woman at that position at NACA/NASA. In 1958 when NACA becomes NASA segregation is forbidden, and that is when Vaughan and her colleagues Johnson and Jackson started working on programming the orbit and later also Apollo 11.

Continuing on the same track of NASA and space, Margaret Hamilton was the Apollo project's first actual programmer. Hamilton became the director of software engineering at NASA in 1965, and she was also the person to first coin the term !

In the image above, she stands next to all the handwritten code that was used to send humanity to the moon. During the early stages of the project when she would speak of "sofware engineering", software development was not taken as seriously as other forms of engineering, and it wasn't regarded as a science, either. She wanted to legitimize software development as an engineering discipline, and overtime the term "software engineering" gained the same respect as any other technical discipline.

And lastly, if you're a woman in STEM, I want to highlight and celebrate you! Being a woman in a male dominated industry is not easy, we often suffer from sterotype threat and are not seen as our own individuals, but rather "the woman" in a room full of men. But just as these women, I'm sure you will achieve greatness!!

May enjoys horror stories. Lena likes taking her to watch horror movies with her and Webby.

Loves using catchphrases!! She and Dewey are practically platonic soulmates.

Huge sports fan. Dewey got her into wrestling as well.

June loves her new family, so she gets really hates it when the triplets trash-talk about Donald, even if they're just joking/teasing.

Oh btw, I headcanon that Donald and Daisy adopted May and June. Donald introduced May and June to rock, and now both are obsessing over any rock music/songs. They also got middle names!! Daisy knew she should probably be the one to decide, since Donald chose "Dingus" for Dewey's middle name, so she wanted May and June to get normal every-day middle names. May is now May Katherine Duck, June is now June Elizabeth Duck.

(reader)'s life was always a roller coaster.

His father belonged to one of the richest families in Camelot at the time, but since he was not the first son, he did not receive much of the prestige or inheritance that would have been his.

(reader) lived in a relatively well-off place despite everything, with her parents and siblings.

However, when (reader) was little, her mother died, which led her father to have to ask for many favors to be able to keep the house afloat on his own.

In the end she failed, and (reader) was sent to live with a distant relative in the center of Camelot, where she was supposedly better off.

and to be fair, it was.

because there she met him...

One day, (reader) had left her relative's house to avoid the music classes that were scheduled for that day.

The bad thing is that since she had never been to that part of the city, she got disoriented and lost quite easily.

Fortunately for her, a boy (the same age!) saw that she was having problems and offered to escort her home.

Now, (reader) was a sociable girl, so it was quite easy for her to make conversation with the boy and get to know him a little better.

It turns out that he was practicing how to handle the sword with his brother Kai (a bad btw), but since he got angry with him he took a break.

His father was a holy knight! (reader) didn't understand what they were, but the stories she read about knights when she was bored gave her the idea that it was something exciting.

In the end, the boy said goodbye to her and left the way he came, although at least not without giving his name.

Arthur...

As you may have noticed, (reader) knows Arthur in his time before he had the sword, when he was something like his father's squire.

and definitely after that he started looking for (reader) on his own when he knew where she lived.

They even began to have a rather funny dynamic in which Arthur would try to make her laugh in the last minutes of their peeking (through the windows).

and in general they were one of the few friends the other had.

But when a certain... incident... happened with (reader's) music teacher.

Arthur only arrived to see how some holy knights took him away, but he knew that for some reason (reader) he skipped that man's class...

and when he found out, well, let's just say the music man was lucky Arthur hadn't been there.

Arthur was furious! How dare that pig put his hands on (reader)?

You could say that this determined the dynamics of their friendship during the following years thanks to (reader's) love-struck nature.

While Arthur trained with Merlin and became stronger, (reader) became more popular with men for her beauty and cute personality.

Although of course, it was a double-edged sword.

There would always be someone who would be especially insistent or who didn't understand "no", but luckily Arthur could take care of that easily ;)

When Arthur takes the sword out of the stone, (reader) is the first to run towards him to congratulate him, she even gives him a small kiss on the cheek as a "reward" (Arthur is as red as a tomato at the time, he flatly denies it) .

Thanks to him being king, Arthur and (reader) can't see each other as much as before :( but they maintain communication through letters and try to see each other as much as possible.

low key, (reader) admires Merlin quite a bit at first, it's a hunch (a powerful and beautiful woman in complete control of the situation and her body, you can get the idea).

For this reason, they both talk a lot about the deadly sins and share the enthusiasm.

Now, if in the events of NNT's story (reader) she ends up meeting her "Francis" or worse yet, her Henry VIII, let's just say things are going to get... ugly.

There is no way in which Arthur will not see the giant red flags of either relationship (in a way by seeing certain parallels with the case of the music teacher), so he will be quite firm in his dislike of said relationships. especially with the Henry.

After all, what is a 50-year-old man doing near a teenager? creepy vibes.

Also influencing a little is the fact that Arthur may or may not realize that he likes her (reader), although part of him just wants to say that she is his friend! that she is very kind and pretty and that she sings and dance very well and that her talks about dog breeds is the most beautiful thing he has ever heard....

Oh no--

If we're talking about a scenario in which (reader)'s family arranged a marriage with this Henry, Arthur puts his foot down and may even use his position as king to get (reader) to break the engagement herself (which she happily does).

(Regarding Francis, they would both simply agree to ask Merlin as a favor to use illusory magic and give him the scare of his life. It's super effective).

(reader) was definitely extremely traumatized when Arthur was "killed" in the second holy war. absolutely horrified (even more so by that time they were already dating).

and when Arthur is resurrected by (the power of the script) chaos, let's just say they're both stuck with each other for quite some time...

and that translates into the current relationship they have in 4kota. which is like Katherine Howard's happy ending basically.

(reader) was obviously very marked by the holy war and definitely by Arthur's almost death, so she tends to be around him a lot of the time.

They both officially get married! (probably before Merlin left) and overall you could say that their relationship has only become more secure in several ways.

Arthur is still quite protective, but on a much more visible and understandable level, after all (reader) she is his wife, the queen of Camelot, if his enemies try to get to him, one way to do it is through her, so of course The times when (reader) decides to leave Camelot (usually on her family's funeral anniversary) she usually goes with Arthur.

Besides, it's not like Arthur is offering to spend extra time together.

(reader) developed her dancing skills over the years! apart from that he was even able to learn to play several instruments (with extra supervision of course).

from time to time you can hear when (reader) does a little performance for Arthur in the throne room when there is nothing to do and he is bored :3

Arthur acts like he can't stand said dog/dogs very much, but after a week the dog/dogs already have a place at the table next to (reader)😅🤣

Arthur is fine with (reader) not advancing in her studies, honestly it is a lot (for the time) that she knows how to write and read so well, but if she wants to help out with the paperwork aspects, he will allow it! oe will assign someone to guide you through the process until you can do it alone or, if you can, you will teach it to them.

Arthur feels very good teaching (reader) new things.

(If the reader's previous "suitors" are still on the loose or didn't die in Camelot, you can bet Arthur is going to correct that).

(reader) has a fashion sense quite inclined to French fashion, and Arthur doesn't blame her, she looks very adorable in the soft colors.

(reader) may even develop the habit of embroidery to pass the time when Arthur is away, she makes quite nice pieces (Arthur definitely shows them off to "Merlin")

(reader) is not really involved in politics due to her lack of education, and honestly Arthur is grateful that this is the case because he knows that (reader), being the empathetic being that he is, would not like to see a good part of what he does. for the sake of the eternal kingdom, but he knows it will be worth it.

Arthur and (reader) dancing together🥺 it doesn't matter if it's in sds or 4kota, I can definitely see (reader) dragging Arthur to the floor to dance together.

Arthur from sds definitely prefers to dance faster and "funner" things and vary a little from ballroom dancing (actually it's because it makes him nervous)

Arthur from 4kota is fine with whatever style (reader) chooses, but he has definitely learned to 1-improve his dance skills (thanks to reader) and 2-appreciate the closeness that ballroom dancing provides. especially in the throne room.

Either version will not tolerate any attempt to shame (reader) for her "history with other men" and will take it VERY badly.

Arthur from sds will defend (reader) tooth and nail, but if he can't reason with people, he simply applies a *little* bit of violence so they learn not to defame a pretty lady (he breaks their nose) .

with Arthur from 4kota...do I really have to say it? They will be lucky if they are whole after saying such blasphemy in front of him.

Arthur is definitely VERY determined to maintain (reader's) little remaining innocence, they've already been through so much, let them have a happy ending (even if that includes eliminating all races).

In general, no matter what past or "history" (reader) may have, Arthur loves her and sees her as her own person, let things move forward in their time, and will fight for his lady's honor.

So, you think Newsies Jr. is a watered-down cash grab? I just finished reading the script (so you wouldn't have to!) and the differences are surprisingly rad:

-There are multiple canonical girl characters in the Manhattan newsies ensemble. Two of them back up Katherine and make Jack agree to give her an exclusive.

-Crutchie is badass and gets more to do. They menace the Delanceys with their own crutch instead of Jack doing it on their behalf, and instead of being "too slow," they get arrested while covering for Jack and encouraging him to run! (I have been wondering for a while whether the fight scene could be staged this way/wanting to write fix-it fic about it.)

-Btw I say "they" because Crutchie is never referred to by any gendered words in the script. They even cut the "your brother" tearjerker. Crutchie's canonical real name is the gender neutral Casey and the stage directions and casting breakdown use they/them.

-Same goes for Les, referred to in stage directions as "David's younger sibling."

Medda's song "That's Rich" " got removed and replaced by a feminist anthem.

-Spot, hyped as the toughest newsie in all five boroughs, is explicitly a girl. Everyone shrinks in fear when she turns up. (Is this where uksies got the idea?)

-Darcy got replaced by Dorothy.

Hannah is the one who has the idea to give Jack a job drawing cartoons. And Katherine negotiates double pay for him!

-No slurs -- not even from the Delanceys while they mock Crutchie, and def not from bff Jack.

-No "Something to Believe In"; no kiss, shifting the emphasis of the story away from hetero romance to a celebration of the strike and friendship.

I feel like Disney is kind of telling on themselves by making the play less sexist and ableist ONLY in the version for young audiences ...

On Birdo's Gender

Heads up this post will quote manuals and website descriptions and by no means supports the messed up language in it. It was wrong then and it is wrong now, this post is purely for educational purposes. Also, this is meant to be a useful tool to use against people who try to use this Pink Dinosaur to be losers all while clearing up any actual confusion.

So... appearing first in Super Mario Bros. 2 USA, Birdo first gets the following description in the manual. "He thinks he is a girl and he spits eggs from his mouth. He'd rather be called 'Birdetta.'" But it is a bit different in the Japanese version than in the localization. "Katherine, thinks they are a girl and spits eggs from their mouth. Calling them Kathy puts them in a good mood." So while the Japanese manual isn't as bad it is still not great. The reason for this Japan isn't the kindest to trans people. Many people themselves in Japan will use pejoratives to refer trans people, mislabel them, make "jokes" at their expense, and yes misgender them. Look no further than that one Metroid developer interview where a developer called Samus Aran a newhalf as a "joke." This information provides some context on why Birdo is treated the way she is not just in the West but in Japan itself. Btw as a side note on this idea of "jokes' this also might be the reason the Mario series uses Luigi wearing Peach's dress as a joke so often. To the point they made this description for Luigi which can be interpreted as implying some things about Luigi. "When Toadette finds one of these, she can transform into the super-powered Peachette. (Sorry Luigi-only Toadette can use this item!)" Note, the Luigi thing is a maybe and not guaranteed, this is just speculation. That aside, let's move on.

Shows up in a Japanese commercial where she has a deeper voice, which is points to the obvious fact that she is intended to be trans. Side note, trans women can have both deep and high pitched voices, and thus this depiction of Birdo can go either way here.

Next up is a description of from the Double Dash Japanese Website. 「ヨッシーの彼女に見えて実は彼氏!?」 "Birdo appears to be Yoshi's girlfriend, but is actually his boyfriend!?" This is some more of that yikes moments when it comes to Birdo and how they are treated.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Popple appears to almost misgender Birdo but ends up not doing so. This seems to be a decent depiction of her. Now some people believe she is being deadnamed, here, however Birdie seems to be just a pet name she likes being called.

So at this point people on this topic typically bring but the next thing and call it a day, but I have more here to bring up. So some people bring up Birdo's Brawl description, but it is irrelevant to this topic because Smash Bros. is not canon.

Next up Birdo's BS Super Mario USA depiction. As mentioned in a previous post, Birdo has sisters. This also makes some decent treatment of her and her sisters. In addition the Super Birdos are voiced by Jun Donna, Rika and Akemi which are all trans women if I am correct. If I made a mistake at all here let me know. In addition they all have deep voices. Now Birdo in Paper Mario: Sticker Star Birdo sings a song. “Heart of a woman, heart of a man… Both can know of love's grace…” This one is a bit iffy, it might be intended to be something intended to be used to mistreat Birdo, or it might not be and is just meant to refer to her being trans. Side note, in Paper Mario: Color Splash Birdo sings a song that references Doki Doki Panic and her relationship with Yoshi. In addition her being a performer in this game is a follow-up to what she said she would do in Superstar Saga.

Next up is Birdo's descriptions in various games. Games like Super Mario RPG, Mario Superstar Baseball, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart Double Dash, and Mario Party 9 all use the correct pronouns for Birdo. Now I've heard it claimed Super Mario Party does the same but I don't have access to it, and it is also claimed in the UK version it misgenders her. It also has been claimed that in the Japanese versions she is also misgendered but again I don't have access to those to check them. But even if the Japanese did say that, it would be better to abide by the US localization's usage of Birdo's pronoun since she is intended to be a trans woman.

Finally in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Birdo is featured on the sponsor Women Of Racing Organization thus acknowledged her as what she is. Now on Birdo spitting out eggs alongside the rest of her species doing the same. It is never stated anywhere whether or not the Birdos have sexes, and they obviously don't have any spectrum sexual dimorphism as most Mario characters don't So it is probably safe to say Birdos either are sexless, or if they do have a sex then like Yoshies all Birdos can make eggs.

Who is currently in the cult that grace and Wanda created and what are their family roles? Btw does the cult have a name?

The cult doesn't really have a name, but we personally call them "The Forever Cult" or "The Butcher Family" when referring to them.

The members are Wanda Butcher, Grace McNally, Jack Davis, Abel Owens, Katherine (Kattie/"Kitty") Clyde, and Isabelle Butcher. The rest of the family usually use the last name "Butcher" but those are their legal names. They all function under the alias of a family unit, though are roughly still a family.

In the face of the public, Wanda and Jack usually pretend to be the parents, while Abel, Kattie, and Isabelle are their kids. In reality their unit is a lot more complex.

Although the older adults, Wanda Jack, and Grace, tend to be seen as more parental, it really depends on the kid. Kattie is a lot closer to Jack and Wanda, first Wanda later Jack. Meanwhile Abel is very selective around people and is only really close to Kattie and Grace when it comes to seeing people as parental figures.

Meanwhile Isabelle is only really close with Wanda, and loyal at least to Kattie. She hates Abel at first but later finds she cares for him too. The three adults relationship also tend to be complicated, Jack and Wanda have a love hate relationship and are either arm in arm in allegiance or at eachothers necks in authority. Grace meanwhile tends to keep the peace as she means a lot to them both. Wanda being her romantic partner, and Jack having a close relationship with her that they both can't really describe beyond "not romantic, but not just friends."

But as for them individually:

Wanda is the head of the cult, taking over during a period of Jack's absence. She tends to orchestrate plans and is generally the most fanatic. Despite a brief detour where her and Grace became addicted to a substance called Tarnished Gold, her main goal and the goal of the cult, is to gain immortal life and unravel the mysteries of The Flipside. Wanda also has a vampiric entity attached to her, known as "The Butcher." Which comes out when she has not consumed enough "Gold," and has a bad habit of eating anything and anyone around her. Feeding on blood and automatically transforming it into "Gold."

Jack is the one who first pulled Wanda into him and Grace's plan, making them a unit of 3 killers. Jack and Grace are the ones who new eachother for the longest, not counting Kattie and Abel who grew up together, as for many years him and Grace lived together in a queer platonic relationship. Jack had a partnership with a Flipside entity which exchanged knowledge with him for a piece of Jack's being, symbolized by taking his two front teeth. Jack was able to get in contact with this entity, and pursued by it, due to being a "Philosopher." A human with otherworldly powers that are directly tethered to The Flipside in a way.

But despite having these powers, Jack is actually one of the weakest Philosopher's in the series, and that power is cut in half even further after his deal. Jack and Wanda tend to be the heads of the operation interchangeably.

Grace is the most deadly of the cult, without taking "The Butcher" into account. After an accident her and Jack had, regarding the entity Jack was in contact with, Grace was scarred with one time use alchemical symbols that made her body able to heal from almost any injury. Symbols originally made for Jack, and she's important to the plan because of this. In short, she's essentially a Slasher villain in ability. I make jokes about it often but she could be run over by a car or shot with a shotgun and will get up near moments later. Her wounds will close, her bones will snap back into place, and she'll continue pursuing whoever she's after.

Some injuries take longer to heal, and she normally does have a recovery period, but the immediate damage doesn't slow her down. She's usually the one who brings back the bodies, along with Wanda.

Abel and Kattie are adoptive siblings in a sense. They both grew up together as orphans, going from foster house to foster house, and once Kattie became an adult, she became Abel's legal guardian to get him out of the system. Abel is a teen for most of the story while Kattie floats more around early to mid 20s.

Abel for a good portion of their life, has been fighting leukemia, which has gone in and out of remission several times. He's at the same time also dealt with being paraded around like a savant, taking college level chemistry since late middle school. He later honed this chemistry, into the cults alchemy and production of a more pure and clean version of "Gold." Which he uses as a medicine to treat himself. Meanwhile Kattie, worked hard in robotics, which started as her modifying toys in her teens or making brand new ones. Later specializing in prosthetics and mechanical mannequins. She uses these skills to help and improve Isabelle, as well as her and Abel combine both their skills together to make mechanical monsters and other dangerous devices of sorts. Kattie and Abel tend to be more of the straight men out of the group, while ironically being the 2nd and 3rd youngest.

ISABELLE IS A very normaL and vEry human tEenage girl who likes to hang out and dance with her friends. she is the youngest of the butCHEr's aNd is jaCk and wAnda'S only biological daughtEr, coming after her aDopted sIbliNgs Abel and kattie.

the butcher's are a VEry normal family and kind family, they help their community, and alwayS bring duck eggs to their work or School for othErs. isabeLle, abel, and KATTIE are kids, their parents jaCk and wanda, and wondeRful roommate grace, raised thEm All so well behaved and kind and good.

ThEy live out in the countrysiDe, alone but self sustaining. no one ever visits because of how long the drive is, but i am sure they are great company

First is Delilah Annette Hartfield(She/they), who's a 14 y/o girl. One of the youngest hosts on the IT database, she takes her muse in stride(a lot like Wesley does!). Her endless optimism makes her a tough nut to crack for Jared's annoying ass heists to get her assimilated. Also... Her muse isn't very hostile either. She knows of most of the channels in the DFTM canon, though I think she wouldn't like Mark's bc of how negative he is :P She likes the spongebob theories though! Her and Arche watch them together.(though in dftm canon i don't think the story scenes show up in the vids, so they wouldn't suspect much).

Arche(She/It/That) is our second subject! Arche is Delilah's muse. Its fixation for muse-ing is scrapbooking. Which is not profitable at all, though not like Delilah cares. Arche isn't very concerned with assimilating her host, rather just, hanging out with her. Because Delilah's her friend. Delilah at least makes sure she's feeding her muse good food. Arche is very outgoing and has tried multiple times to talk to Delilah's dad, which Delilah immediately goes "My dad is gonna freak if he sees a giant tentacle creature in my closet"

Third up is Yvette Renee Hartfield(she/her)! Yvette was an original R&D department member and was very dedicated to her job whilst there. When she noticed a turn in the company, she wanted to quit, though the concern for her coworkers made her stay. She was very close to Ramona, as the two had similar life goals(make animals' lives better and humanely produce meat). When tasked with her muse(like all HMF employees, she got one), she didn't want to spread the spore due to the fact she KNEW it would cause others pain, but it got to the point where she nearly died from stress and ended up leaving it in her brother's(Delilah's father) garden, which Delilah ended up picking up. Yvette was later assimilated.

(i kinda ship yvette and ramona together IDK... yvette is 48 at the time of canon occurring)

Irina is the only child to Ramona. She inherited a lot of the messed up genes from when her mother got experimented on, Leaving her with kinda messed up looking limbs. Irina uses this to her advantage, being a star athlete for gymnastics. When not doing that, she helps around at the zoo her mom runs.

Irina was produced via Parthenogenesis, which I know humans can't do but since Ramona got experimented on I think she could probably do it.

aaaand finally we have Katherine(She/her)! She's Renard's younger sister. Her full name is Katherine Cecile Mayhew-Geist. She's a lot less human-y, taking on more muse traits than Renard does. She's nonverbal autistic and loves her older brother a lot, and loves to help with his various projects. She has a tendency to chew on her tentacle hand, and is very sweet and kind.

Katherine is 5 years younger than Renard(who's 16), so she's 11.

I like to think Carl would enjoy taking them places, like Universal or whatevs(they live in florida!!!!).

Btw Renard's middle name is Isaac.

Hey gio I accidentally got into an argument about how Rowling, and how she’s not transphobic and how’s she’s misunderstood, do you have a list of reliable sources and evidence to point out she’s not a good person?

okay i want to say that. unfortunately i DID have some discussions similar to this in the past, and they always ended with the other person going "let's agree to disagree :)" and so i know it's a lowkey Lost Cause. however. wanna give out obvious proof? like nothing that can be misread or misunderstood?? like of course i can just throw her twitter link here and call it a day, but again. i've met people who were adamant and kept saying that she was just pro women, well.

sure let's go. putting it under read more because i know that it's very upsetting. we're discussing transphobia, but i also want to lampshade her racism and much more so. yeah.

also point 0.5: i know you want proof of transphobia but i want to remind everyone that she's a bad person through and through. just by reading the book you can see a lot of fatphobia - especially with the dursleys - excusing slavery with the house elves to the point that the only one who's happy with being free is considered "weird" and the one person who wants to fight for their rights being constantly used a a joke, antisemitism with the goblins description, the racism when it comes to non-white characters (the chinese character is literally called cho chang and whatever the fuck she did with the native americans) and much, much more. I won't lie, I still have fond memories of the books from when I read them as a child, but you can't ignore that she really pissed outside the bucket more than once

1. again, just read the books. in harry potter i think it's just something very vaguely hinted with Rita Skeeter being described as masculine and being a character who constantly badmouths and stalks the underage protagonists, and we all know how her main villain in "troubled blood" is what a trans woman is in the eyes of a terf: just a man who crossdresses to enter in women's bathrooms to kill them. there's also her new book where she makes the victim we need to avenge a cartoonist who's killed for being accused of being transphobic, but honestly i didn't read too much into it nor i want to because just the premise makes my blood boil

2. small, but while her rampage on twitter can "be misunderstood" as "her protecting women" ( no it can't, but again. that's what people i discussed with were preaching :^) ), i think the ultimate smoking gun was her blocking stephen king, someone she openly reverred jus a few hours before he stated that trans women are women

3. similarly, Katherine Waterson, the actress who played the main love interest in "Fantastic Beasts", was casually pushed aside after she was very openly went against J.K.'s transphobia. In the latest movie her character was "unavailable" until th very end, as far as I know, where they rushed to close her love arc.

3.5. the actors of Harry, Ron and Hermione and many others were also openly supporting trans people btw, and since she doesn't really have power over them anymore Rowling being absent to the Harry Potter reunion really says a lot to me
