I have a kinda longish bit from Chapter 22 of WSTFMD coming out on 5/17!! I am hoping I have most of it finished before 5/3, or at least completed, and if I'm done before the target post date and I have all my ducks in a row, I may even try to post early! 💕 Anywho, please enjoy!! I'm indulging in some more vampire blood drinking because I literally cannot resist going too long without it, lol 💗

“In the morning, then?” He asks, his hunger nothing more than a tool to get closer to her that he’d sprung at the chance to utilize. It still gnaws at him, the blood she’d generously supplied yesterday slowly ebbing, but he can last. He’d rather not push, anyhow- he’ll never risk losing it again. The implications of such a thought flit away, filed for later perusal. Or, optimally, buried so he won’t have to think about it again. “Come here, Astarion.” Her voice soothes an ache inside him, quiet and gentle. Seconds slip by as he blinks in surprise, watching her face finally relax. He obliges without another thought, letting her adjust the cushioning under her head as he cages her body beneath him. He doesn’t touch, though it’s difficult to resist the temptation. Fingers splayed out on either side of her long hair, knees inches from each of her thighs, he stares down and waits for her move. “I know you like to be full, but let's make it quick. I’m really tired. I wasn’t kidding about that.” The breathy chuckle that brushes against his lips rings true in her heavy-lidded eyes, sleep moving to claim her. He smirks and nods, body flaring with appreciation when she moves her head to the side. “And behave- no squeezing this time.” “Spoilsport,” He grumbles, enjoying the sound of her weary laugh more than he should. “And darling?” “Hmm?” The sound feels like a dagger, digging deep, and he suffers as it fills the air. “You’re not stupid,” He mumbles, lips pressing to her jugular as he obliges her request and sinks his teeth in with little more than a brief suckle as his introduction. Her inhale sharp, her body jerks before relaxing, and as her blood floods his mouth and his mind with nothing but her, he dismisses the persistent sentimentality that keeps cropping up at every opportunity. Why can’t he just take a few sips and be done with her? It’s almost nauseating… He pulls the reins back on his usual lapse in self-control, finding it give way to a dull hum in his groin rather than a raging, untamed need. He wasn’t aware he was able to exert this level of obedience before, muting the lust with soft groans that she echoes in quiet, tempered whimpers. He can’t help it when his fingers run up to cradle her head, the whisper of his touch dragging a pleased sigh from her lips. Warmth spreads through every limb, and with forlorn acknowledgement, he recognizes that it’s not just her blood that’s bestowing it upon him.

this is more than a few lines because i'm a rule breaker lmao it's from the Bruce fic i was talking about a couple days ago! i'm really excited about it and hope to get it up later this week!

Seventy eight stories up, floating just outside the glass, shimmering with an ethereal glow. Your form is only half-phased, half solid. Raindrops slip right through you, never landing, never soaking. You press a hand to the glass, head tilted slightly as though amused.  Bruce doesn’t speak, but his eyes never leave yours. You don’t knock. You never do. You phase through the glass like it’s water, it doesn’t creak. It hums—a low rumble of energy. When your boots touch the polished floor, your form sharpens into full opacity, but the essence still clings to your skin. He can smell the ozone. You don’t speak, not at first. You just stand there, dripping with power instead of rain, head tilting the other way now as you study him like you always do—like you’re looking straight through the flesh and bone, into whatever broken thing is holding it all together.

Earth

It’s John’s turn to laugh at the message and he does so, trying to picture a grouchy Gale, maybe with a pout on his pillowy lips. It’d be a sight and it’s added to the list of things to look forward to. [11:04pm] John: Well, we can’t have that. [11:04pm] John: Are you in bed? [11:05pm] Buck🎄: I am. He hasn’t seen the upstairs of Gale’s little cottage yet and wonders what his bedroom is like. Filled with wooden furniture and creature comforts? Earth toned walls and soft bedding? A book on the night stand and a blanket on the foot of the bed? Is Bailey curled up on him? Have the dogs moved from their beds to his? He knows that he’ll learn all of these things with time and it sends his heart thudding along to put himself there, even just in his mind. [11:05pm] John: Snug as a bug? [11:06pm] Buck🎄: Yes, John. [11:06pm] John: Sleep tight, baby. Only good dreams allowed Dots appear and disappear for a full minute and John lets his thumb smooth over Gale’s name again.

Sky and Slow

The air is crisp and cold but the biting chill that had been in the wind since the snow blew in two days ago is not present this morning. The sun is out, shining in a cloudless sky and Gale’s having a good day. He’s sold eight trees, had two cups of coffee, one that he’d mixed with the peppermint hot chocolate Brady had greeted him with. He’d woken up to a text that John had sent just after midnight telling him he was home safe and sent a good morning message in return. Gotten back a simple ‘good morning, sunshine’ text back two hours later that had him smiling into the collar of his coat as he salted the sidewalks. And now John’s on his way again. For the fourth day in a row, John’s on his way to see him. To spend time with him and buy him a hot chocolate and maybe put one of those strong arms around him as they walk the farm and look for a tree for him to take to work. He wonders if John will notice if Gale goes intentionally slow on their search to stretch out the time. Will he kiss him hello when he gets out of his truck? Is that a thing Gale gets to have now? He hopes so.

Luck [10:59pm] Buck🎄: Think I might like dancing if it’s with you John pulls his bottom lip between his teeth, eyes crinkling, stomach fluttering again. [11:00pm] John: I’ll start brainstorming for a good song. Gotta find the perfect one to hold you close to. [11:01pm] Buck🎄: Just google, ‘longest song in the world’. He barks out a laugh, head shaking, feeling warm inside and out because of this sweet man. He’s never been a lucky guy so how did he find him? How can he make sure he gets to keep him? [11:01pm] John: You gotta stop being so damn adorable when I’m not there to see it in person. It’s not fair [11:02pm] Buck🎄: As you wish. I’m falling asleep anyway, better let it happen. John frowns down at the message. [11:02pm] John: 😞

So the bright and sweet @writeforfandoms tagged @metahigh in a tag game today and I watched that girl cry happy tears about getting tagged for her very first time. It made me realize that while we love this crazy corner of the fandom, we all tend to tag our besties a lot. AND THAT'S FINE!!! We SHOULD find and love our tribe, and tag games are certainly a love language.

But once Tumbles changed the code and you could only tag five people at a time in a block, I said eff it. I have a lot of people I admire here and it's impossible to tag them all all the time...I'm just going to enter all my loves into a picker wheel and do a random five until I go through the entire list, then unhide them all and start again. (I will say that I do discern based on the game...sometimes I'm like, oh. THIS person needs to play this one for my own selfish reasons.)

But there are probably plenty of folks here that would love to play the games and want to get the tag and I just don't know!!! So tell me! I'll enter you into the picker wheel and every now and then you'll get a tag! I'd love to learn more about you, see your faces through piccrews, and know what song is playing in your head right now and why.
