Am i the only one who feels like the flipside hate is a little bit extreme? Like I completely get portions of it, the feet shit is objectively weird and goes nowhere. Characters are flanderized at breakneck speeds, and i like chuckled probably 4 time throughout watching it. That being said the way ppl are talking abt it would make you think it murdered their entire family so like even if its shitty I don't think its THAT shitty, yk?

Like ppl are accusing it of just being Jecka torture porn and while I can get that, did y'all even play the first game? Half of that game is Nicole just being constantly harassed sexually by men so I rlly just don't get it?? PLEASE if you can explain the hate more in detail to me I would love to hear it because i rlly do wanna understand and my first impressions are just vry mixed rn

HEAR ME OUT

Yesterday I dreamt that I was playing Class of 09: The Flipside and I was in the foot route going for the Jecka’s overdose ending.

And then I hit the scene in which Jecka goes to her father’s room. However, instead of him having Nicole’s toes on his mouth, he had fallen to the ground with on his hand gripping on his chest while Nicole was staring at him with a unfazed look.

Jecka, seeing her dad’s condition, shouted “Nicole, WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!!!”.

Nicole replied “Nothing, just showed him some photos of your ‘job’ and he overreacted”

“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god…”

“And know you’re overreacting too.”

“Overreacting?! Nicole, my dad has a cardiac problem!!!”

“Oh!”

“And now you gave him a heart attack! Just because I didn’t want you to become a foot whore! Why would you want to become a foot whore? You didn’t even need the money! You killed my dad because you wanted to be a foot whore!”

“Easy there! He’s not dead …Yet He’s just suffering here on floor.”

“Oh my god, I need to call an ambulance…”

As Jecka leaves the room, the screen faded to black and later appeared an ending CG of Jecka looking at a door while holding luggage.

In this ending, even though Jecka called the ambulance, Her dad ended up dying and she needed to move in with her mother and grandma. At first she was pissed that she needed to live with them now, but then she noticed that her mother and grandma were less of a bitch with her than before. Turns out that their “bitchy behaviour” was due to Jecka’s dad’s abusive conduct towards his wife and mother-in-law!

The downgrade of move in with her mother and grandma is that Jecka is now too far away from her peers from high school (including Nicole) but Jecka said “Hey, at least I don’t have to worry about my dad beating the shit out of me!”

Then Jecka mentioned that although she’s pissed that Nicole ratted her out like that, she found it funny that Nicole’s attempt of revenge didn’t work and actually made Jecka less miserable.

That dream felt so real…

Something about Jeckole

As completely and utterly bullshit as Class of 09: The Flipside was (or should I say the feetside) me and my buddy @/lightyagamiscorset (or Smile) are still thinking about one scene that was probably the singular good depiction of Jeckole's relationship in the game and actually sums up their dynamic as a whole.

Jecka: Sorry... it's just--

Nicole: Are you fucking kidding me!?

Jecka: You said it wasn't an ultimatum!

Nicole: I'm still allowed to be mad!

Jecka: I can't screw up my life over a Marilyn Manson concert.

Nicole: If it was Ryan Shackler you'd go.

Jecka: That's different and you know it.

Nicole: But what am I supposed to do with all this now?

Jecka: All what?

Nicole: Tickets and Ecstacy?

Jecka: You can't find someone else to go with you?

Nicole: Not really, unless it's some guy.

Jecka: Well make some regular friends.

Nicole: I don't know how to make friends! I don't even know how to talk to you.

Jecka: Ugh, can't you just scalp the tickets then!?

Nicole: I'm not some 50 year old Italian Guy, I don't know how to do that either!

Jecka: Look...

Nicole: Look what?!

Jecka: ...I don't think you should need me this much...

This whole conversation just emphasizes Jeckole's codependency. And there's so many ways for that one line to be interpreted, all of which equally debilitating in themselves.

"I don't think you should need me this much." -- You're stronger than you think, why do you need me?

"I don't think you should need me this much." -- you're getting too close to me. Stop. Go away.

"I don't think you should need me this much" you're getting too close to me, are you okay?

"I don't think you should need me this much." You're already so "good." Get away from me, you apparently don't need me.

Just, holy crap. Me and Smile plan on doing a rewrite of the game, and if anything from the original is gonna make it in, it's that one line. It's a miracle a line like that managed to get into the dumpster fire of the sorry excuse of a game that Flipside was.

I'm a 'proshipper' and yknow, I didn't become rife with little kids to put my grubby hands on the second I realized that term fit me. Live and let live. If I read a fanfic of something immoral, like siblings getting it in or w/e, yknow how many people are hurt as a result? None. Someone thought up a scenario and put it into words. It is a made up thing and is not sufficient info to tell you anything about that person outside their taste in fiction. For all the class of 09 content you've consumed you must tell me of the next time you are compelled to sell cocaine on street corners in poor neighborhoods to cheat in your classes, since an individuals taste in fiction is enough to change who they are as a person.

You seem miserable. This mindset is going to continue to alienate you and I hope you find your way out of it.
