Plot-wise, it's just okay, but actorly it's a great pleasure. I love Davis when she plays roles that are not so in-your-face showy, with the proverbial "snot out of nose" crying (see this year's Air too). Here she's more steely but also vulnerable, as the wife of a (seemingly) dead criminal, who is coerced into paying his debts and aims to complete a job that originally he planned. There are some plot twists and turns, sometimes impressive and well staged, but it's predominantly an actor's film. Kaluuya stands out as the most evil person alive.

Y'know how sometimes you think for exactly 0.2 seconds about a ship and you're not even being all that serious in the first place but because of those 0.2 seconds of consideration, your mind goes down the rabbithole and you open your eyes to a rarepair and its potential and you come out on the other side going "yeah, they were 100% fucking, it was just never relevant to the main character's plotline"

Okay it's not a big deal actually. I don't really like them, but i somehow appreciate characters who make me feel so negative feelings about them. I mean, they are really nasty. I hate them so much. And these feelings are enough to make me draw them and make them visible, 'cause i always be like "it's a BULLSHIT let's talk about it". Haha i really like to lovehate characters, it's almost my hobby you know.

So about Duvall, he's so dick. I literally can't say nothing good about him. Normally i like wolves, i like policemen and i like oldmen. But somehow he's loosing everywhere and i dislike him so much. But i still want to show him and talk about him (also i'm draw him for a promising opportunity to mock him a lot in the edits).

And about simon lovelace... I despise him so much, he's so disgusting that I want to take endless revenge on him in my own ways. You know, making badasses look silly. Perhaps my hobby too. I just want him to suffer for everything he's done, so sometimes I randomly draw pathetic Lovelace and it make me feel better lol.

It takes content to make more content, so I do what I do and not going to stop😼 Content with assholes should be too! Otherwise how can I mock them🙄

Mini-review:

There are a lot of good book-to-movie/TV adaptations. However, there is something that's a lot rarer: an adaptation that improves on the original in pretty much every way. Looking for Alaska is one of those. Going for a miniseries instead of a movie means that everything is much more fleshed out, from the characters to the setting and the themes. The show also perfectly captures the atmosphere of the novel. I've always felt that atmosphere was what made this book so special and popular, and this adaptation made me feel exactly the same. I must admit, though, I still don't like Miles as a lead character, like at all. But, since the other characters get as much focus as him, I didn't dislike him as much as I did in the book.

What's more, the cast is absolutely spectacular. They all nail their roles. I seriously can't think of many teen movies/shows with such fantastic acting. Kristine Froseth and Denny Love are particularly showstopping and I was really surprised (and disappointed) to see they didn't get any award nominations. They're truly that good. Lastly, I want to talk about the setting. I just loved Culver Creek, the pranks, the locations, everything. I honestly wish they would have turned this into some sort of anthology where we follow a different set of Culver Creek students in each season. Seriously, the setting has so much potential. Anyway, this is easily one of the best book adaptations I've ever seen, and I'm really glad I decided to watch it.
