honestly Viv's approach to writing reminds me of JKR

whenever she gets criticism or people point out plot holes she tries to find some hacky solution that fixes the problem. but where JKR's solutions were clumsy but mostly worked (people asked why everyone didn't just use time turners to solve everything - time turners all get conspicously destroyed so there's none left) Viv's are just embarassing in how transparent and amateurish they are

she's decided Stolas is the good guy and he gets flack for cheating? write Stella as more than just a bit of a bitch who has become distant from him - now she's an evil monster who exists to torment him so Stolas is doing a virtuous thing by continually committing adultery

he still gets flack for being a bad dad who neglects Via? write an episode where he neglects her even harder but now the moral is explicitly 'Via needs to suck it up and cut him a break', delivered by the one character who has no reason to believe that much less the right to say it given how she treats her own adopted dad

Stolas still gets flack for how he uses Blitzo as a sex doll with a pulse? uh, um, Blitzo seduced him! and Stolas is nice on phone calls we don't get to see, passive aggressively nice on texts we do get to see and acting like sex between them is now distasteful because he wants love and Blitzo is the one who's a perverted horndog

Blitzo shows little affection for Stolas and doesn't even seem to like him? suddenly he's clingy and insecure and just wants Stolas back but won't admit it and he's (probably) going to do a complete 180 when he finds out Stolas was abused, because Viv can't think of a quicker way to make anyone like or love Stolas than 'he's a very sad boy who's very tormented, which is the only thing a sympathetic character needs'

I think the thing about JKR's plot holes is that, they feel like...well, regular plot holes. You can get through the series without thinking about the time turners too much, just like you can get through Shawshank Redemption without dwelling on the fact that Andy shouldn't have realistically spent 24 years in the same cell.

Viv's plot holes fly almost as fast and thick as the swears. Things that happen in an episode are consistently retconned in the next episode, and then that's retconned into something else entirely. The audience doesn't have the luxury of ignoring it, because the show plays out like it was written by a group of people who each took an episode and didn't communicate with each other at all.

Millie Redesign! (1/4)

The Helluva Boss redesigns begin!

I wanted to start off with Millie to get a better feel of how I think imps should look and get down a baseline of wrath imps before I try working on any others since a lot of them look kind of the same? Idk I wouldn’t be able to tell Millie’s from wrath if there wasn’t a whole episode about it.

Oh I also wanted to make her actually look a bit more mature since I thought she was 20 years old tops but idk maybe she is! I personally just think shes like late 20’s early 30’s but up to future me. Here’s my notes that I planned out before starting actually:

Notes for millie design

- More confident/casual pose

- Weapon the doubles as farming equipment

- Give her a more rugged feel

- I need to feel like she could kill me with her gaze

- Big weapon maybe? Who doesn’t like oversized stuff

- Give her some scars, maybe a chipped or glued horn

- I know theyre cliche but.. overalls

- I wanna know shes from wrath I need to FEEL the texas

- Plus size but more built for strength and all that

- Maybe a cute matching bandana with her sister?

- Maybe make her tail a bit more pokey?

As you can see a few of these got lost in the process but I think she still looks really cute! Her redesign was actually really quick and only took me a little under 2 hours. Hopefully the rest of them will be this easy so I don’t have to look at another 19 hours of Vivziepop designs…

I haven’t entirely figured out Millie’s character yet but she’s likely going to stay more or less the same, just more fleshed out and not just Moxxie’s wife. She’s still the main fighter of the group since Moxxie is more sniping and medicine with how im working on him, but I think she takes a bit of an interest in Moxxie’s talents and vice versa. I still think Millie’s go to medical treatment is “rub some spit in it” and thats basically it/hj and last little tidbit, I based her a bit around places I visited as a child that were very southern to me. Also wanted her to look like she eats pancakes for breakfast 🥞!

Honestly, I'm worried about how they're gonna write Moxxie the next episode. Like I'm afraid they're gonna ruin the best character they have and just throw it away again 😭

Big Mood. I get that everyone keeps saying "OH MY GOD ITS GONNA BE SOOOO GOOD!" But get this, what if they end up doing the Striker story and the Chaz story to the point where Chaz looking too similar to him feels even more obvious? What if they end up having two plots at once? Or even three? What if they end up making Chaz predictably the "bad ex" making their bias towards gay men in comparison to any relationships with a female character in it (them making the w/w ones or m/w ones intentionally the "wholesome" ones while writing "nuanced" incredibly toxic m/m ones with little to no love whatsoever unless plot covienent.) even more obvious?

Also- did they forget who's been added to the writer's list?

and the damage this decision has (further) done to the series?

Like no, "more" doesnt equal "good." "Criticism" Doesnt always equal "bad faith" or "bullying." Its how you advance as a person. In work, school, family life, etc. So no, this episode is not "more" likely to be good. Mooxie's character already got jacked up the moment they stepped on his confidence and made him the "lol haha he's so tiny and wimpy step on him!" character and took away most of his sass unless convienent to the plot or for them to use this as a way to make Blitz look more "reasonable". It's better than most in hb, but that doesnt automatically make him "good" since he learns the same lesson and is just fustratingly under developed as most of the cast in the series. Sure, it will have it's strong points. But with Adam Neylan on the Helluva Team and Vivziepop's reaction to criticism getting worse and worse through time: It's still reasonable not to expect an actually good episode any time soon. Especially seeing how things have been ever since season two started. Drama and all.

This blog was made to advertise my art, commissions. And get it out there for people to see. As well as share my thoughts, poetry, and books soon enough.

I'm currently working on a comic called "Journal Entry" based off a book I wrote, about a man crashing on a desert island after his plane mysteriously falls onto it. And as he explores he finds nothing is like the rest of the world. The life breaths and moves and exist different here. And things aren't as they seem. Does he fall into insanity? Or worse. Thats for you to find out. Along the way he meets a pet companion named "Sam" which was the name of both his grandfather, and unborn son. Adding emotional conflict as he gets attached to him, making it even harder to get out. As if that was a possibility.

I also have written many other stories that aren't finished, with more interesting and fleshed out plots. And ideas for stories that aren't fleshed out at all. Over the next few years I hope to get on my feet, and get recognized as a writer and artist. By posting as much as I can make. And hope if you enjoy what I make, you'll stick around too.

pet-shop-of-horror-fan rebloged and said, “It’s really easy to criticize people without being racist. You went out of your way to say this. It adds nothing to any critique of her art or actions, it’s just racist. And nothing said was even right. Mixed race is not white, and Latina is not a race.”

Blitz is sent to kill a cringe monsterfucker weeb fanfiction writer because she was an asshole to someone online, she's protected by her weeb amulet, she gushes about how much she wants to fuck Blitz for four minutes and then cuts off her amulet so he can kill her and he does and she shows up in Hell to continue stalking him, the end.

it's kind of funny that even when trying to make Blitz the sex-crazed one he's still more sympathetic than Stolas

like he comes onto him once in full moon then immediately stops when Stolas gets up and walks away (and only did it in the first place because he was scared of losing the book and Stolas has only ever wanted sex before)

and the same in apology tour, when he uncharacteristically says he wants to sleep with Stolas he immediately walks it back a bit and says his phrasing was crude when Stolas doesn't respond. Then his tone is way more measured for most of the rest of the scene when he says, quite rationally, that they've never done words, they've just done sex

The only time he brings it up again is when he says an 'angry fuck' would be good but he doesn't push the issue, just gets irritated at Stolas (from his perspective) all of a sudden acting like he hasn't been super into the dirty talk this whole time

even the one scene he gets lambasted for in the circus, he stops and asks Stolas 'what do you want me to do to you?' and just bites his neck when he panics that Stolas has seen the book is missing. and Stolas is consenting far more enthusiastically in that scene than Blitz ever has in the whole show when Stolas pays attention to him

meanwhile Stolas in s1 has ignored every 'no' he's ever been given, creeped Blitz out whenever he tries to initiate phone sex, fetishized him, objectified him, demeaned him, literally called him a plaything, etc. The two just aren't remotely the same even without getting into the power difference issue

Well, of course! Rule 1 of HB is that Blitzo's consent, feelings, and safety don't matter, only Stolas's does. Only Stolas is allowed to do whatever he wants to Blitzo and Blitzo is the bad guy if he gets upset about it.

I wonder if this is strikers 3rd appearance (4th if you count the bad trip) simply because he's a fan favorite and hugely popular. Unfortunately it seems like Adam and Viv can't figure why he was so beloved–unless it's intentional and they do know.

They do seem a little obsessed with feverishly scrubbing away any complexity that "Starting with the one who treats you like a plaything" line added.
