can’t help but think of how, if we choose to go by sirius’ characterisation as a private, arrogant teen who only lets a select few into his circle, sirius’ post-azkaban life just have been such an utterly humiliating experience for him.

especially OoTP. when he has all these near strangers in his childhood house, that he hated and loved and ran away from and couldn’t ever escape. if he spent his entire pre-azkaban existence building a cold and aloof persona, not letting people know what his home life had been like, then to have all of these people get a front row seat to it because of kreacher and portrait walburga’s shenanigans must have been near unbearable. to have the entire order, including snape whom he disliked and mistrusted, hear the kinds of names he’s being called.

not only does he have to deal with the retraumatisation of his childhood, but also the fact that he’s flayed open for everyone to see. it’s not only his freedom, innocence, dignity that has been snatched from him but his privacy also. it’s such a cruel thing to experience, on top of everything else.

to have literal children, his godson who he has been kept away from all this while, whom he presumably wants to be able to look up to him, to have him see into the deepest parts of his soul. to have to be so weak in front of him. not only is he subjected to such vileness but he also cannot do anything about it.

sirius has not had a moment of peace in all the time we knew him. it is indignity upon indignity that is heaped onto him. every other character has gotten a moment of respite but him. it fully breaks my heart.

@ USAmericans that are following me, if you (like me) get anxious you'll somehow have issues with a mail-in or drop-off ballot: I forgot that in a lot of places (here's a site to check!) early in-person voting is an option, so I figured maybe you did too!

Lines are MUCH shorter than election day,

which means it's quick and you have more time to look things up at the voting booth if necessary,

and you have a LOT more ability to find a time that works for you than if you just vote on Nov. 5th (which I would be have been almost completely unable to go out and vote on).

Early voting y'all it kicks ass. A quick google of "early voting (my city/county" immediately brought up the exact address, days and hours of where it was available. Will definitely patronize the fine folks at my local polling center again in four years assuming that. Things go well. And we still have a democracy in four years. OTL

#USpol #US pol #LOVE poll workers love the extremely clear signage at my polling place and the people positioned every fifteen feet or so #whose whole job is to nod at me and go 'yup you're in the right place go right around that corner and see the first open person at the desk #nothing assuages my 'I'm going to mess up this important process and go to jail probably' anxieties #like having someone give me clear directions and instructions every step of the way. bless.#anyway I was scheduled to work a 12-hour night shift on either side of election day because that's how my schedule works #and by hell or high water I was going to make it out to vote anyway but like MAN it's a relief to be able to go in person but not uhhh #at the cost of coming back to work wildly sleep deprived. it's one of my favourite personal headcanons that Scorpius has a grey fluffy pet cat with a clipped ear and three legs that he found abandoned as a kid and was like, yep mine, and bonded over this unwanted creature cause hes like omg people dont like me very much either!! and this cat is intelligent and loyal as hell and hisses at people he doesn't think are good for Scorpius lmao

Scorpius is general has a habit of of collecting unwanted and perhaps damaged things. he has loads of creepy and broken ornaments all over his room. but I do not only mean inanimate objects, pets and people (*cough* albus *cough*) also apply

he collects them all because he can relate to them, and because he knows he can love them

I did actually do some drawings last month, figuring out what Charlotte Pryce, formerly Jones, has been up to in the last two decades since her brother last saw her.

Her husband died recently, leaving her, her son, and two daughters, on their own. Instead of moving back in with her family and remarrying, she's considering coming to London, where she's heard it's possible for a woman to make something of herself more than is available to her on the surface. Her family will surely disapprove, and won't financially support her, but it could be worth it in the end. Besides, she does have a brother living in London, one who tells her all is wonderful and cheery down in the Neath.

Me in my very first class as a substitute teacher after completely losing control of the kids in the first 2 minutes

#several fights broke out in different corners of the room #2 8-year-olds broke out a makeup palette and started playing with eye shadow #kids were sprinting around the class in circles #kids kept running out the door into the hall #one kid appointed himself as Door Guard and started guarding the door for the rest of that class. he even completed his worksheet #shoutout to door kid #the hall monitor and teacher next door both came in at one point to yell at them #the moment they left it was back to sheer chaos #i made one kid cry because i told her off for being bad #one kid was hiding from the noise under a table in the corner and i just let her. i understood #how the hell can 1 adult control 30 9-year-olds tbh. how the hell do they expect teachers to do that tbh #you need 1 teacher to just sit in the back and yell at the kids when they get rowdy and another one to actually do the teaching #okay well #pain #myart #comix #substitute teacher #the pain #the agony even #my throat still hurts from all the yelling #teacher comic #im dying #good bye lol #I did 1st - 6th grade classes and 3rd grade was the worst. at least the 1st and 2nd graders could be distracted by telling them to draw #the older ones were quieter and better behaved in general #half the 1st graders cried at some point and one of them peed their pants. still better than 3rd grade #skjnsdkjdsn #trans

this might be petty but 4 of my coworkers pissed me off so bad last week (each individually pissing me off) I put them in a room together, knowing they all hate each other.

#that room?#Operating room.#i calculated the time for 3 different surgeries and assigned teams as if I was lining up a cue ball on the pool table #by the end of morning shift the balls have chaotically bounced around and all 4 of them fell into the same corner pocket.#the corner pocket of hell.#the consequences I suffered? a 2.5 hour delay with overtime on my part because all 4 of them work so beautifully inefficient.#was it worth it? possibly.#god fuck i guess im obligated to say this did not endanger the patient.
