just read the new mutants issue where Charles chose to stay behind in space and my god the juxtaposition between Charles trusting Erik and Erik joining the hellfire club and wondering at his own trust worthiness. I wonder how much of Charles decision was him ultimately trying to avoid the fact that his first class had seemingly betrayed mutant kind and not be willing to face them and how much of it was Dani and Illyana's reaction to him having Karma mind control Illyana. the fact that Illyana was depending on him to ease her mind through limbo and in choosing to stay he forced karma to do it instead, probably fucking up their relationship in the process.

I love him, this is crazy, how much of this is him trying to runaway and how much is this him not trusting himself to fix things and how much is it just him trusting Erik?

Man going from the land of snow movie immediately into shippuden the movie really smacked me upside the head with the realization that part 1 nart is a million times better than shippuden nart. And I like older Nart, I really do, I like all the Narts, even the Bort one to a degree(when he's not being a shit father). But like, his immaturity and earnestness and energeticness are all cute and even inspiring when he's a kid. In the first movie I was giggling and cheering the kiddo on. But with 15yo Nart when he acts immature and yells at every little thing it's just like. Dude. Calm down. You do not need to keep acting this way. Like, I like his stubbornness when he's all "I'm bringing you home Sasuke!", but it's a little annoying when he's all like "Why do I have to follow Neji's orders?!" Like, idk, I think just the older a character is the less tolerable those traits are to me. Like it's cute when they're kids but then it turns into falling behind on the maturity scale I guess.

Wordlessly, she raises a wing and an arm towards him, an invitation, a request. Slowly, carefully, he lowers himself beside her. With much less care, she unceremoniously tosses the blanket over him so they're sharing, and he grins, ducking his chin beneath the covers.

He lets a wing drape over her, covering his charge, his human, his partner. In turn, she intertwines a hand with him and closes her eyes. Safe, content, trusting.

"I love you." She says, squeezing his hand gently.

"I love you." He returns, and they doze until the alarm wakes them properly.
