I am both intelligent enough to know that Targe should not have done that, and wise enough to know that people rarely do the most logical thing in the heat of the moment. Protecting the people you care about sometimes means doing dumb shit

Not to mention — Kettle is a fantastic character who does love his daughter, but there's this undercurrent of disrespect toward her as well. He loves his daughter, but does he respect that she is her own person outside of that role? He places the entrance to the Gauntlet in her very burial chamber. He uses a mural depicting her entombment as part of the key. He bought Marcus' allegiance with wings hacked off her beloved, and he sent him to kidnap her using those wings. He infects her with the tadpole and robs her of free will so she will betray her beliefs (she, who is a cleric) and stay at his side. He also frames her love of Aylin as Aylin stealing her from him.

Idk if I mentioned it before, but one of the Hashtag Themes™️ I want to embed into TMM is the spirit of the saying "the only way out is through", and uhhhh BIG EMOTIONAL EXHALE CAUSE DAMN I'M GETTING A REMINDER THAT IT SURE IS TRUE
For real though, been thinking of that quote for the past few days again. Grief makes you want to squirm out of your skin and escape to a place where your reality isn't true. But that is impossible, and you have to walk with your grief and feel all the heartache instead in order to fully heal from it.

In my mind
Yes exploring Yingxing's relationships with the High Cloud Quintet is so so nice, it's fun I love to think about them
And sure exploring his relationships with ppl from the Zhuming like his master General Huaiyan can be even better
But the need to explore his relationship to his family despite what little time he had with them is ingrained within me and I feel a tad bit insane thinking about it
Mhmhm hmm hmnm

This is "The Doctor", a resident of the nightmare realm, who has been there long enough to have been almost completely corrupted. His face is normally just a pitch black void hole but sometimes you can see eyes and/or teeth in there
He wants to help people, but he's almost completely lost his mind, and can sometimes act a bit... Feral.
Surprisingly, the nightmare realm's usual effect of making people lose every memory of their life before they ended up here, hasn't managed to take away his medical knowledge. He's still very smart, despite everything.
Unfortunately he seems to scare off most people who he would otherwise have helped...

out-of-context future dialogue that probably won't ever make it in my fic:
Tony: (trying to embarrass Loki) you know, there is not a single person on this planet that has watched Night at the Museum more than this guy
Loki: it's not my fault that you have no good movies
Tony: yes! I do! I have every movie! you just keep cycling through all the ones with Owen Wilson in them!
Loki:
Loki:
Loki: I like the cowboy

#just the levels of naked affection
I KNOW. Jacob's just looking at him with so much fondness (like "look at this adorable weirdo"), I can't stand it. They just clearly like each other so much. And this one:

True about the height. Sam's kind of built like a ballerina, or just a dancer in general, with the long slim legs. His torso looks long to me but maybe that's because he's so slender and then the wide shoulders make him look even slenderer?
(x)
Yes!! I love that clip too, it just really exudes so much warmth.
And yes! Dancer or swimmer, I always feel, although the latter I think usually skew a lot taller. It's been funny to be rewatching the series, because I read someone say ages ago about how you can tell neither Sam nor Jacob are all that tall in s1 because they're around so many other supporting male characters and extras in a way they aren't really in s2 (especially with there being so much more Dubai), and the point of comparison makes it more obvious. It really does!
