The Companions with a Tav! Who sleeps with a stuffed animal. Pt. 1

Contains: Gale, Astarion, and , Wyll

Warnings: Established relationships, I kinda did a mix of writing and headcanons, typos probably, I think that’s all? Pretty fluffy!

A/n: sorry I’m not as active as I’d like to be college is a bitch.

Gale

You and Gale’s relationship was only growing stronger and deeper with love, so you decided to move into his tent with him(after her asked with puppy eyes). Of course you brought some of your things with you, which also meant you brought your childhood stuffed animal with you. A teddy bear that was gifted to you from your mother when you were born. As your lover was helping you set up some of your stuff both inside and outside the tent, you carefully sat the bear down at the head of the bedrolls which Gale immediately noticed.

“Ah! Who is this esteemed gentleman?”

The wizard questioned warmly, going to sit on his knees in front of the bear. His gaze shifting between you and the childhood stuffed animal. You explain the bears name and significance as Gale carefully examined your stuffed companion. He nodded a long with a smile, sitting the ever down and giving him a gentle pat on the head.

Gale loves the teddy bear and has no problem sharing a bed with the stuffy. You can cuddle the bear and he will cuddle you from behind, or whatever position yall end up in.

He will also look after the bear for you when you are away. He knows the bear is very important to you and you’d be devastated if anything happened to it. Gale has held it on his lap while he is reading, keeping his book lower like the stuffed animal is also reading with him. Lol.

You could walk up to him and hand him the stuffed animal and he just takes it like it’s nothing while talking. If somebody questions it he’s like “Oh this? This is (teddy bear name), anyway-“

The others joke that the bear has become your child.

He talks to the bear when he’s alone with it.

Astarion

“Darling, what is that?!”

The vampire scoffs dramatically, his eyes narrowing as he just noticed bunny plushie sitting on your shared bed at the inn the party was currently staying at. There stuffed animal is old, that much he can tell. It’s black, beady eyes staring into his, and for some reason he feels threatened. Astarion refuses to break eye contact with the rabbit as you explain, it was an heirloom from your grandmother who passed away. He finally tears his eyes away from the toy, lips pulled back in mock disgust.

“Does it have to sleep in the bed with us!?”

You shoot him a half hearted glare, which quickly shuts him up. But the second you turn you back to him and the bunny, he gives it a small smile. It’s kinda cute.

Keeps up the charade of him hating the stuffed animal as long as he can, but it doesn’t take long for you to figure it out. Which he begrudgingly admits he’s grown found of the stuffed creature.

Though Astarion will glade at it if you cuddle the bunny more than him, and has hid it from you to try and get your attention.

If anyone or anything happens to your bunny, he may or may not try to kill whoever is responsible. You don’t mess with his partner’s bunny!

Wyll

The party had stopped at an inn for the night and of course, you bunked up with your lover. As you both were unpacking, you placed a rather old, but cuddly frog, who wore a crown on its head. Wyll was immediately smitten and sat on the bed, gently tracing his fingers along the stuffed animal’s arm.

“Needed to find yourself another prince did you?”

The young man asks with a chuckle, pointing to the crown your fluffy companion wore. You turned to look at them both a sweet smile, joining Wyll on the bed as a few giggles escaped your lips. You explained how the frog was a gift from your older sister, since you had loved the story The Frog Prince as a child. Which then lead to your handsome prince retelling the story of the frog prince to you, since he to loved fairy tales.

Wyll has definitely made your frog plushie talk to you, he even makes his voice sound different. He will do anything to see you smile or hear your laugh.

He always makes sure the stuffed animal is account for and safe, if you accidentally forget him somewhere. Wyll would turn around and run back to go get him, then joke about how froggy hopped off own his own adventure.

You cuddle the plushie and he cuddles you, and he is beyond happy with this arrangement.

Talofa again everyone! Today, I would like to share ANOTHER commission piece with @temeyes again! And this guy is a big bully when it comes to people who are weak or below him!

Ladies and gentlemen! I present you-

Kapo Taumoepeau!!!

One of the strong man in the Shadow Company!

Kapo is a Tongan man who loves to cause trouble and make other people feel weak as he is looking down on them! He doesn’t care for anyone’s feelings, opinions or business (Unless it's his boss). He’s quite rebellious too. Even when he was a little boy. I’m surprised that his parents didn’t discipline him enough since most parents back at his home are very strict. I guessed it didn’t affect him. (His poor family 😢)

And also, to tell you this. He was the ex-member of the Warriors Task Force. He was released by the Captain AND the General because his action had almost put the team’s lives at risk. And he also disobeyed the Captain's order as well. So he was DISCHARGED from the team AND the military. Most of the team members had already reported and testified about his reckless action which had caught the General's attention. She doesn't want any more of that on the team or the military ground. So she had let him go.

And it did make Kapo upset that he started to move away from the base and went into the state. It's Texas where he started his new life over there. Still angry about what happened, he started to drink at the bar until he saw someone at the corner of his eyes. A blonde woman. Who wanted to talk to him. And that's when he was offered to join the secret military. The Shadow Company.

Promising him that he'll get much more freedom than following some orders from the Marines he use to join. So he just agreed with her and joined the team.

This man had gotten me riled up that I just wanted to punch his stupid ass smirk off his face.

Anyway, thank you again Tim for doing this commission for me! I love it of how you perfected his face! And easy target practice for me to punch! 😁 Lol.

came across a very lame and obviously unoriginal anti-w0lfstar post that was written to uplift pr0ngsf0ot claiming canon plausibility as the reason. (honestly, pr0ngsf0ot is compelling by itself idk this new surge of remus/w0lfstar hate but wtv- they are fictional so you do you ig)

so, a hot take: Sirius is really not as obsessed with James as you all make it out to be, in canon.

is that his best friend? absolutely

did he love him very much? duh

was he devoted or wanted to dedicate his life to James? that's where you lose me icl

if anything James was more interested in entertaining sirius, in the one prominent memory we see of them. there is enough context clues and testimonies to conclude that they were very close. and this is what interested me to ship and explore their dynamic (not a post to say you can only ship with canon hints. im just talking within the topic of my rant lol). there is only one person sirius shows utmost devotion to and that's Harry. that's his godSON, his heir and honestly his everything post Halloween.

it is entirely surprising to me how definitive sirius // james shippers sound when they claim it would be more or most canon. both r/s and j/s operate on the same level of delusion and are informed by canon. yes, I think there is a great possibility in canon that sirius was into james- i love the appeal of pining and even heartbreak if not reciprocated. (I also accept this pining and heartbreak in remus//james if anyone is into that wink wink) similarly, I think that remus and sirius could be romantic starting anywhere in the timeline. a boyish sweet love or secret longing and heartbreak or coming together in their tragedy as adults. endless possibilities, it seems, for all of them.

Anyway, back to the point of this post. its insane to me when w0lfstar in particular gets pushback with emphasis on canon like there isn't chemistry and history between them right on the pages. its not a magnified reading. its there. in their dialogue, their physicality and its Harry clocking all of this. these are two alive and kicking characters in the books that shippers read. idek how many times this has to be said. people genuinely believed this relationship would lead to queer representation in the book, explicit or implied. people did not have hindsight, believed jkr to be a better person lmao. you don't have to accept this reading but you also cannot be so narrow that you refuse to see this reading as a valid experience for other people.

once again, you don't have to ship w0lfstar. at all. maybe the popularity and general hype is the annoying part. there are many reasons to not engage with new age w0lfstar shippers btw. but god this "stanning fictional characters" or hating one immensely for the benefit of another, unironically, is so corny. giving stan twt like what imaginary competition is happening?

another thing that ticks me off is the notion that w0lfstar are not close at all. yeah, i do complex magic to help out people i don't really like for the hell of it as well. ik there will be some justification to those who want to prove their point by any means. "sirius is smart so he wanted to do advanced magic" "he actually did it for james" or wtv else comes up. idk how to tell you that marauders are friends first of all. yes, james and sirius are closer but there is no hierarchy with remus. he is not as close obviously, but he is also on the edges by all of their character designs. sirius, in his recounts, never talks of remus as someone below him or largely excluded, just as someone who was conforming, compliant and the "good boy". it is also quite clear in their communication that they were good friends. james first befriended the quiet kid cause he liked him, supported him financially because that is his good friend. he did not act out of pity. that is a great disservice to his character as well.

this is my personal take/opinion. sirius would obviously mention his relationship with james to harry and not remus' and his friendship. i don't think remus and sirius were secretly closer btw, but it is a bit odd that w0lfstar shippers are expected to write james as the #1 priority for sirius when they are not the focus?(this is a very small group of people btw, miniscule in fact. i'm just ranting to rant, not a larger problem) ig my first hot take comes down to this too. you can interpreted the text as you want and that is okay. you can read sirius as obsessed with james but it is not canon. so to dunk on other shippers when they don't share the sentiment is?? mind you, i am well aware of w0lfstar shippers sidelining or flanderizing james in their interpretations and have ranted about that too many times not that that's relevant here. just pointed out in case anyone misinterprets lol

ship anything man idc but saying w0lfstar has no canon support or to insinuate that w0lfstar shippers are shipper pilled (this made me laugh, what are you doing at the coven meeting friend?) is a bit ?? my point, if there is any, hypocrites piss me off or maybe its the lack of self-awareness? how to interpret the dynamics, character reactions in au, canon divergence, fiction is really all up to you. you can honestly remove remus and replace him with gilderoy lockhart in the marauders for all i care, its fictional. but you can't bring up canon and say something blatantly false to rag on shippers of a ship you don't like. that's just silly now. extremely condescending as well.

i was also wondering how you like the characters in tevinter nights compared to how you like them in game, just your opinion on them. oh and did you read the book before you played the game or the other way around?

oh of course!! i meant characters who are extremely kind and selfless and never take things personally, but are written this nicely on purpose, to make a point. like the idiot in dostoevsky's book - the prince is kind and sweet and doesn't hold a grudge, he's disarmingly sincere and always compassionate, he has great insight into other people and why they behave the way they do. and it's on purpose in that this makes him extremely singular, a mystery to other people, cause every other character is held back by social conventions or pragmatic desires or cruel impulsions, and the prince simply doesn't have those. i think this idea also applies to hareton in wuthering heights to some level, he's not saint like and doesn't talk people through their issues, but he is patient and willing to endure cruelty, to take violence inward and not look for revenge. everyone else is thinking about revenge and who they can torment as proxy for revenge (like heathcliff taking revenge on hindley by mistreating hareton, little cathy is mean to hareton because heathcliff makes her miserable) but he is willing to defend little cathy from heathcliff and to defend heathcliff from little cathy, even thought that puts him at risk. he's very selfless in a book where everyone else is pretty selfish, so it stands out

i really love both of these characters, i just don't like it if someone is meant to be a normal regular person but they're a saint in social interactions anyway, or if everyone is also like that - i dont remember for sure what prompted me to make that post in the first place but i was probably vaguing veilguard, i imagine. that's just my personal bias but i cant imagine someone insulting me to my face and responding by trying to coach them through their feelings, and it doesn't feel like a natural human response to me, even less so when everyone else is also like that. i wouldn't mind kindness if there was one character who was a ray of sunshine and always selfless, but we have TOO much sunshine in this beautiful guard of the veil for it to feel like a trait specific to anyone

i read tevinter nights after playing dav! i went in dav with zero info on the companions aside from very very basic things, like i saw some gifs. that's about it i ended up not finishing tevinter nights because of the eight little talons story - i disliked that one SO thoroughly that i needed a break after. but that's so weird, because i only realized recently that the author for that also wrote the lucanis story that i really enjoyed?? so idk what happened there, i don't get why courtney woods would do that to me. i hesitate to call anything objectively bad, but i found that story painfully sexist in how it handled the characters of teia and viago, and also not very good as a murder mystery (i guessed the killer based on the fact that the character spoke ominously and had otherwise nothing to do). i liked teia and viago way more before i read this, i will never look at them the same again </3

but i did still like the lucanis story, and it has made me sympathize with illario way more lol. it's a shame he's written with zero subtlety in the game, because i do like their dynamic in this one! if i had to help my cousin on a special mission and he kept changing objectives and getting us in danger by being too kind and sweet, i would also want him mega dead tbh. i'd think about it at least. looking back though, i think the issues with lucanis do start in this story ; in that he's an assassin with a moral code who doesn't kill innocent witnesses and will draw out a killing to make the target suffer more - i think that's 1) unprofessional 2) contradictory? for example, in this story, he kills a bunch of guards. were they all guilty? to the level of deserving death? i wouldn't think so. the idea that someone can be a good & moral assassin who only kills bad guys is a total dead end, it's not possible. especially if he's not a vigilante, but a hired mercenary. it shows in his banter in dav, his sense of morality made him sound more deluded and sinister to me than if he'd said "i kill people for money, whatever" i still think this story is fun in itself, and i enjoyed it. i think this contradiction in lucanis could have been interesting if it had been on purpose and explored in the game, but i think the writers really thought they found the loophole to have an assassin who is morally unquestionable....... too bad i liked neve's story, i thought her bitterness and the way she assumes the worst outcomes and the worst of everyone, but still never gives up, that was fun. if neve was written by the same person who wrote the story (and i think so?), then she was written by the same woman who wrote evka, which i think is amazing because i thought multiple times that they were pretty similar, but i like how it works for evka more. i think it's because evka is balanced by antoine, the optimist to her pessimism, who knows her deeply and allows her to show a softer side without it feeling jarring or contradictory like it did for me with neve

i also liked the first story, the one that had strife, thought i felt VERY unprepared for the first named character in the book to be extremely elf racist. it's not bad, it's definitely on purpose, it's just that since you never see anything like that in da:v, i didn't think it would be on the table. i liked the action scenes and the little twists and reveals, which i think may what weekes is best at writing tbh... my favorite dragon age book i read is probably still the masked empire, and i remember liking that about it, the action and the suspense and the twists

i like the story with antoine and evka, who are great and i love that we get to see them before they fall in love. i think this story benefits from the fact that i know they will come back later and their relationship will grow - on its own, i probably would have found it just ok, but the book and game feel very complementary and work together well in my opinion :-)

other stories have already slipped out of my mind for the most part, i just remember liking the one with emmrich and really disliking the one with dorian. maybe i'll finish it at some point, there probably arent that many stories left anyway... just for completion's sake

It’s my middle child’s 3rd birthday today 🥺

3 years ago my partner was deployed overseas and couldn’t come home for the birth because the military didn’t want to spend so much time quarantining their soldiers. Fortunately I had help as my parents were watching my son (at the time just a month shy of 2) for a few days before my due date and we had moved across the street from my partner’s parents when we found out about the deployment. So I had his mom with me at the hospital holding up her phone while we got to have a rare video call with my partner as we welcomed our daughter into the world after a very quick labor. I then had two months with our two very little kids by myself before he came home. It was an incredibly hectic time and I’m still not quite sure how I was able to get through all of that but here we are with the sweetest little 3 year old (let’s call her C) we could have asked for 🥰

C loves to play dress up and she has specific characters she’ll play as where you can’t refer to her as her name or she’ll get mad. She’s not C she’s Dr C or Baby or Baby Kitty or Princess Bucket (this was her first character and yes she does put a bucket on her head as a crown). Her favorite game to play is hide and seek and she loves dance parties and drawing and she’s obsessed with her 1 year old sister. We love C so much and I’m so excited to see how she grows and changes and learns over this next year ❤️

speaking of nickel-type observations i was drawing something from and old rp and just now realised that TWICE both my biggest ships with barnabas have been fucked up in one way or another. first was also my very first OC ship and i had only come to realise the brow-raisingly large age gap like 8 years later but it was between this spinstress??? tailor girl named ella who met him while going to deliver a dress (17) and "omg ive never met another person in my life before. sit by the fire and let me tell you about how im going to become an angel someday :3<" barnabas (12) back on g+ between like 2011-2013 and the SECOND was relatively recent, like 4.... 5 years ago which had a boy who was abandoned by his father after birth because of an affair, and that father happened to be BARNABAS' father and deciding he was tired of being treated like dirt by the rest of the clan he wound up in and that he wanted his title back the former sacks the whole kingdom, kills both of barnabas parents and is like "Okay <3 barnabas announce that youre giving your title over to ME and MAYBE (maybe) i will let you live with me <333 i think it could be silly and fun" and barnabas despite starting out as a coward by all means does it starting out simply not wanting to die but later is like "hmmmmm :-)" and starts subtly manipulating him so he can gain his favour and influence and stab him in the back when the time comes (it never did, my poor rp partner was living in argentina and their account is gone now :( but i'll remember you rip....) anyways im drawing them now and just realised their whole toxic yaoi deal was also aided by them being half-brothers. 4-5 years later. hm i am not a very smart or intelligent person i think

the really beautiful landscape/skyscape animation in makoto shinkai's works tends to be the big thing i see focused on and that is understandable and deserved like the weather and lighting effects are unREAL but i do think we should also appreciate how absolute insane the plotlines of his original movies get. at least two movies with in universe catastrophes with major ecological implications. the guns and explosions. theres that one movie i havent seen yet with the guy who turns into a chair (?)
