So do you guys think if the same idea was implemented in canon it could work the other way around? Since Stone still has his watch on after crawling out of the water do you think he could have been alerted of Ivo’s pulse? When it slowed down after Gerald revealed his true plan to Ivo, when it quickened during their fight, or maybe when it fell back to normal when he spoke to stone over the livestream?

And do you think Stone could’ve been notified when it had halted to an immediate stop?

When people are like Wei Wuxian was NOT suicidal it’s like. Ok sure. He just believed that his debt to the Jiangs should be paid with everything up to and including his life. And also that the moral and obvious thing to do in any situation is to put himself between anyone and harm's way. This is because he thinks he’s unkillable but he makes himself unkillable for the same reason he’ll die for a good enough reason: because it’s a way to have worth!

And then famously once everything goes to shit he does beg Lan Wangji to let him die as part of the moment where he is either destroyed by his own evil magic or lets his own evil magic tear him apart, a distinction I don't personally think matters very much at that point. Less explicitly textually, his mentally ill ass behavior after he gives up his core says to me that he wishes that he'd died honorably for Jiang Cheng when he had the chance and doesn't know what to do with himself since he hasn't.

Again I’m aware that he’s operating under a pretty specific set of culturally informed norms as a cultivator and member of a sect but like. TO ME. Everything about how Wei Wuxian conducts himself indicates that he has a box in his mind at all times that says 'in case of emergency break glass' and what’s inside the box is his own death. All the sound of mind actions of a man who has a normal and not suicidal relationship to death.

i will literally never stop thinking about that one glass onion analysis video that said “i wouldn’t say i’d destroy [the mona lisa] to save a stranger’s life, but honestly? it’s kinda fucked up that i wouldn’t. we should value a person’s life, stranger or not, more than a piece of art.” like that changed something in me. bc our society DOES value art. not new art, not artists, sure, but it values the results. they put the results at a higher value than the artist themself, and if they think the results is worthless? they’ll still value the artist less than the result.

I can’t get over how in season 1, they show us how Mike reacts to Will going missing, and how he acts with El

Then in season 2 they show us how Mike reacts to El being gone, and how he acts with Will (which is 500000x more romantic than he does with El in season 1 btw)

Then in season 3 and 4 they show us how Mike reacts to having both of them around. They show us that he can’t balance the 2 of them the way he does with El, lucas and Dustin.

And people still say “they’re just friends” and that we’re delusional

If they are just friends why is Mike unable to balance his relationships with both of them the way he does with everyone else? If they are just friends why was he in more emotional turmoil when Will was missing/in danger than he ever was with El? People love to say “but he called her every night when she went missing” true. UNTIL he knew Will was in danger again.

If season 5 gives us a moment where Mike has to choose to save Will or El (or any of the rest of the party for that matter) he would save Will, every time.
