I'm surprised I haven't seen any stobotnik shippers going crazy over robotnik saying to stone "reaaaally? I thought I was having an anthropomorphic nightmare, where THE ONLY PERSON I COULD TRUST IN THE WHOLE WORLD let in all my greatest enemies" like that got me kicking my feet giggling. He only trust his stone 😭

Honestly, the fact that Agent Stone became such an impactful character for the Sonic Movie canon is insane.

We know that Agent Stone was intended to be a throwaway side character, quite literally just an extension and accessoire to Dr Robotnik for him to express his character with. Agent Stone didn’t matter, he was there to enhance your impression of Dr Robotnik and his personality.

I mean look at this, in the first movie, there are clearly other Agent-like characters following Robotnik everywhere he goes. Not military, Agents. Those are ALL supposed to be Robotnik’s agents.

Even if they are not directly under his command, they are „with him“, his entourage for at least the first half of the movie before they all, including Agent Stone, disappear when Robotnik goes off to do his own thing (destroying that hedgehog).

For all we know in the vacuum of the first movie, Agent Stone and Bot never met before the day this movie takes place and Stone just happens to be assigned to personal bodyguard duty on that particular day. The point is that Agent Stone could have just vanished after the first movie and a good chunk of the general audience for these movies wouldn’t have minded at all.

But Jim Carrey was like „Hey, Jeff, I like this guy, he’s a great counterweight for my character, I think we should expand his role.“ and a few of us from the audience said „Hey, Jeff, we like that fruity assistant guy, we think he and Robotnik should kiss.“ and Jeff said „I agree“. And now Agent Stone is Robotnik’s only real friend and he got his own action figure.

creators of sonic 3 really said "we can't put stobotnik in the movie or the homophobe parents will cry out for their innocent children's eyes now forever scorned by gay content.....so we're putting them all in the deleted scenes, what are they gonna do? Tell us to delete them?"

I just love how everyone in this fandom has accepted Agent Stone into Sonic cannon without question. Like yes that is Robotnik’s husband and yes he’s always been there 🙄🤚

Heyyy so did we ever ask why stone needed to change from his battle/biking fit into his suit before the haircut scene? And why Robotnik didn’t request stone to take those clothes (the jacket, biker shorts, black jeggings) to use as materials to fix his own fit but instead insisting to rip stone’s shirt off?

I watched Sonic 3 yesterday and honestly I thought Stobotnik shippers were just doing the usual ‘any interaction is shipping matieral’ that a lot of ships do, which I mean, go off, do you thing, ship those men I support, the job is up to you for makers too cowardly to make it canon.

But wow, like, no, Robotnik and Stone genuinely have almost romantic tension at multiple points in the film. Even more than the others. Almost every scene they’re in.

OH, and like there’s a scene where Eggman flat out says his appearance makes him undesirable to ALL GENDERS.

Legitimate 🤨🏳️‍🌈 from me.

I half expected Stone to flat out say he loves him during the whole scene where Robotnik fires him instead of cares. And the end where Robotnik spends his last seconds thinking of Stone. He literally calls him the only family he’s ever had.

Plus the haircut.

He didn’t need to do that.

Like no, my god these bitches gay. Good for them, good for them.
