Imhoden had visited the lovely human who had rescued him, several times, as his schedule allowed him to. They were, to his utter delight, a scuba diver who works for a sustainable and ecologically friendly pearl farm. They also volunteered on their off hours to help rescue sea life from the mal-practices of Ancient Terra's humans.

As a gift to them, he'd sing to her oysters and use his carefully, hard won power, which was so much more difficult to use on Ancient Terra to help bless her oysters with more harvest, larger, more lustrous pearls, and of course, more likely to have the rare, and more expensive colors more often, with the better grades of pearls more often. Not that he'd told his lovely human that, yet.

He would also swim in the depths to find lost, or forgotten oyster farms that are in depths that are harder for base line humans to reach to help them out. They'd thank him for his help, delighted and surprised. He was lounging on the side, his elbows on the dock as he watches their clever, small hands carefully open up the oysters and pull out the pearls carefully, and putting in a new 'nucleus' to sustainably harvest the pearl oysters, telling him what they were doing, and how they were.

They also had a video Chanel that they used to promote safe practices and get a secondary source of income to help sell their pearls. They had a synergistic partnership with a local jewelry maker that collaborated on making stunning pieces of jewelry that they sold to their fellow base line humans. He'd only grumbled and hissed at the Jewelry's Bonded Salamander a little bit, calming down once he realized he was bonded to the Gem, rather than trying to poach Imhoden's pearl.

The two humans had been keeping a careful eye on how the two of the interacted. With 'gem' as the Salamander nicknamed their human with a nuzzle sometimes petting his head, which helped soothe the larger Astartes. Also, his lovely human would pet him, yes, those feel nice and he'd curl around you with a happy purr.

He's got the best scale colors, that sparkle so wonderfully in the sun. Pay attention to him and not the uppity Salamander. Although he tries not to distract you while you are making your videos and harvesting the pearls sustainably. He would, occasionally allow his scales, and form to be spotted when they made diving videos of retrieving the pearls.

Those episodes where a rare astartes was spotted always did well, with many millions of views. Whatever that meant, but it made you happy and that's one of his main goals, is to make you happy, keep you save and well loved and cared for. He was even mostly ignoring and not being 'a menace who teases the Dragon' most of the time, unless he thought you were giving the other Space Marine more attention than that Loyalist Asshole deserved.

"You are such a jealous, pouty mer!" You state at him in amused exasperation.

"I do not sulk!" Imhoden says all offended and scowling at you before turning away from you, pretending to ignore you as he sulks.

"Fine then, I won't share my dinner of fish and citrus then," You say casually as you grab the meal that you'd prepared for both yourself and your merman to feed on.

You see the way one of his fins twitches and have to hide a smirk with a bite of the food and humming about how good it was. Slowly Imhoden turned around and swam over, curling his large, scaley form around you, making sure not to squish you as he clings and peers up at you with wide puppy eyes. Wanting the food, but also not wanting to ask for it as he lets out little whines and trills at you sadly.

Oh no, not the puppy eyes! You sigh and close your eyes in defeat before ripping off a piece of the fish and offering it to him. He perks up visibly and gently eats the food from your hands purring like a large, wet cat. As much trouble and as dramatic as Imhoden can be at times, he's usually rather sweet. You had heard that most Thousand Sons could be rather aloof and cat-like at times. And you definitely could see that in Imhoden, but also like cats, if you gain their trust and respect their boundaries, they can be incredibly affection and clinging people.

getting emotional over footage of an amateur scuba diver interacting with a coelacanth. they are hunted by large deepwater predators, and here comes a large creature bearing the brightest lights it's ever seen, making strange noises, but it does not shy away. it hovers, calmly, as the diver reaches out and trails a hand down its back. im strongly against the anthropomorphizing of real life animals but the stupid emotional part of me loudly insists this is because it recognizes us, the alternating movements of its four paired limbs matching the diver's four paired limbs, & it is thinking, "hello, cousins, we missed you these 66 million years, it's so good to see you again. welcome back, welcome home."

aziraphale, the one who gave the first human exiles his flaming sword as both a source of protection and warmth, who did not look on them as sinners deserving of destruction but people entitled to the best chances possible, has never once looked at crowley, a heavenly exile, with anything other than compassion and a desire to protect. from their first meeting, he never wanted anything bad to happen to him. when crowley slithers up to him in eden, he treats him like an equal rather than an adversary. when crowley appears, his eyes fill with love and excitement, his gaze turns soft and hesitant, his whole body seizes with joy of seeing him. crowley might typically the one to seek him out, but aziraphale has always welcomed him home.

The Hades and Persephone AU

So! It had been a coincidence. One of the Rouges Cass had been chasing down had dropped a stray Bullet Casing, and she had managed to miss it as she ran after them. All they could hear through the Comms was her startled yelp as she tumbled 3 Stories, directly onto her Back.

Batman had rushed to the scene, hoping that his daughter was still alive, but when he got there he came across a very different sight. A Tall, shadow covered Knight Carrying Cass in his Arms. Before he could do anything, the Shadow Knight turned away and walked deeper into the Alleyway, were a Lazarus Green Portal stood waiting.

Batman could only watch as his critically injured daughter was kidnapped by some sort of Dark Armored Demon. And into a Portal glowing with the same light as a Lazarus Pit no less.

When he returned to the Cave, Bruce immediately contacted Constantine. Within the Hour, Constantine had arrived and had been lead to the scene where Cass had been taken.

"Well, I don't know what you did to catch their ire but it seems like Orphan was kidnapped by a Realms Being." He explained, "And by the looks of it, by the Right Hand of the Ghost King himself. How did you manage this?"

"Where can we find her?" Asked Batman in a Hard Tone. This was his Daughter, and she had just been kidnapped by Royalty from another Realm. He didn't know why, but they were going to pay.

"Well, the Ghost Zone is a treacherous Realm. Ordinarily I would advise against even considering going there, but I know you will either way."

Constantine gave them Directions to a small town in Illinois, where supposedly a pair of Techno-Mages had managed to open a Permanent Portal the the Ghost Zone. They would have all the Weapons, Armor, and Transportation he would need to venture into the Zone.

Finding the Tecno-Mages was easy (though they preferred the term Ecto-Biologists), and surprisingly convincing them that they needed their help was even easier. Once Batman explained that his Daughter had been kidnapped by a Being from the Zone, they offered their help immediately.

"We understand, if it had been one of our own Kids who had been kidnapped, we would be doing the exact same. If only we could get into contact with our Son, he has connections in the Zone that may be have been useful, but he's been busy for the past few days."

After a day of preparing, the Team was ready to delve into this alternate dimension to save their Missing Family Member.

Meanwhile Cass is living out her Mythologically Accurate Romantic Fantasy (I have a headcanon that Cass adores myths). She was basically Kidnapped like Persephone, except it was under very different circumstances.

Basically, David Cain had made a deal with the Previous Ghost King. David would be given access to Fresh Lazarus Pits for the League, and in return the Ghost King would be given his daughters hand in marriage upon her Death. And while Cass was technically still alive, her Near-Death Experience had drawn enough Ecto to her that it pushed her Liminality past the point of Human Limits. She was no longer technically Alive, so the Contract had activated.

Thankfully, when Fright Knight noticed his new Queen-To-Be's condition, he had rushed her to the Far Frozen to be healed. Then he brought her to the Castle and had informed Danny of the development.

Now, Neither of them was really ready to be married, but a Contract like that needed to be canceled by the one who made it. And Pariah was still locked in his Box. So, they had delved into the Ghost Writers Library to see if they could find a Loophole.

And Study Dates have never been so fun.

Even though she isn't ready to be married yet, Cass still thinks that Danny is kind of cute. And she likes his goofy little smile, and his slightly glowing eyes, and his smooth white hair, and-
